Introduction: Educators require focused training to foster the development of intercultural competence in nurses. Training programs for educators need to be based on a comprehensive profile with a focus on intercultural learning. This study aims to define and validate a profile of the Intercultural Nursing Educator (INE). Method: The Delphi method was used with an iterative, multi-stage process to transform opinions into group consensus. A total of 46 European, African, and American experts from the nursing and intercultural field participated. Inclusion criteria required English at a level of B2, expertise in the field of intercultural competence, experience in teaching intercultural competence in the nursing context, and publications focused on intercultural topics. Results: The INE profile was developed and all 126 competencies were validated. Discussion and conclusion: The profile is freely available on the project website and provides the basis for curricula, training programs and assessment of the required competences. Purpose: To measure the perceptions of caring between Slovene and Russian members of nursing teams and compare the results with earlier findings in other European Union countries. Method: A cross-sectional study that included nurses and nursing assistants in Slovenia (n = 294) and Russia (n = 531). Data were collected using the 25-item Caring Dimensions Inventory. Results: The most endorsed item for Slovene and Russian members of nursing teams was an item related to medication administration. All items that were endorsed by Russian participants were also endorsed by Slovenian participants; however, they ascribed a different level of importance to individual aspects of caring. Discussion: Compared with other European Union countries, such as the United Kingdom and Spain, Slovenian and Russian members of nursing teams endorsed more technical aspects of nursing duties as caring, suggesting cultural differences and previous influences of the biomedical model on nursing education and practice. Since the purchase of the Riotinto mines by the Rio Tint Rio Company Limited in 1873, the region actually became a British colony until 1954. The creation of a hospital to attend the English people was an example of its organization, although as time went by its staff would be Spanish. Some of the main targets of this study are to identify the British and the Spanish nurses who worked at the hospital, as well as to find out the kind of nursery craft and its influence on the Spanish professionals who worked there. By the moment we have identified not less than 36 British nurses (1873- 1954), 13 male nurses and 11 Spanish female nurses (1954-1983). It seems that the Spanish nursery was not really in contact with its British precedent in the hospital, mucho more advanced as for organization and competence, but not for that its professional prestige was lower.
