The paper focuses on the sociological adaptation and development of the mental mapping method within the study of national identity. 'Mental map' is defined as a spatial image or model formed over time in the individual or collective consciousness, while the method of mental mapping is interpreted as a graphic representation of a certain area by an informant at the request of a researcher. The study is based on the empirical application of mental mapping to the analysis of national identity among Ukrainian students (n=942). The paper outlines methodological and theoretical specifics of mental mapping and indicates perspectives of this method in the context of a visual sociological paradigm.

The article presents a form of collective autoethnography generated by members of an informal group of academics called The Autonomous Autoethnographic Collective. The leading idea we relate to is "reverberations" of multidimensional experiences of war in Ukraine that started on February 24, 2022. The aim of the text is to show the multiple perceptual views experienced by people situated in a borderline situation. Uncertainty of tomorrow, prolonged fear for one's own life and that of his or her loved ones, and an attempt to survive in an environment exposed to a "constant fire" are aspects of both wartime feelings and—indicated by them—reflexive thinking. Adopting a dual perspective of the immersion in experience as lived and then analyzing it in the process of collectively shared knowledge is treated as method of inquiry. Life in the shadow of war leads to a variant of autoethnography that is subject to the principle of "reversed order," and as such it manifests itself in the creation of "dispersed" composition. Based on the dialogic tradition (Bakhtin's polyphonic voices), "reverberations" of war are expressed in an experimental mode of editing, which is intended not only to strengthen the message, but also to remain as close as possible to the source nature of the presented experiences—Discontinuities, imbalances, and disturbances of time and space are its visible signs. Patent research in the field of biomedical sciences (BMS) allows to give an objective assessment of the novelty and technical and economic level of the developed object of economic activity, to identify the most promising objects of economic activity, to identify competitive trends in the analyzed industry, to use the best achievements of world science, in the course of scientific research (SR), timely protect own technological and technological solutions with patents in Ukraine and abroad. The purpose of the article is to optimize methodological approaches to conducting patent research in the field of biomedical sciences on the basis of analysis of patent and scientific and technical databases. The fulfillment of the patent researches requires the use of compulsory methodological approaches, which are developed on the basis of DSTU 3575-97 "Patent Research: Key Provisions and Procedure". At each stage of the implementation of the SR, the algorithm for the patent researches, which must be followed in order to ensure the perspective of the development of object of economic activity, its legal protection, and competitiveness has been developed. The methodical approaches to conducting the patent researches in the field of BMS are determined on the basis of analysis of patent and scientific and technical databases, which allow to reveal competitive directions in the field of BMS, identify the most promising ones, give an objective assessment of novelty and technical and economic efficiency of SR; to use the most outstanding achievements of the world science during SR; timely protect own technical and technological decisions by patents in Ukraine and abroad. The article presents a paper that offers a reflection on the meaning of trust based on the result of the survey "Tendencies in the Development of Ukrainian Society 1994-2001" conducted by Natalia Panina and Evgenity Golovakha in Ukraine. It notes that the survey, which aims to monitor the social situation in Ukrainian society, reported the high level of distrust of respondents on all aspect of life in Ukraine. It discusses the nature of trust, as well as the betrayals of trust. It explains that the distrust of the Ukrainian people was caused by experience of betrayal in terms of the political promises and expectations made by politicians and political parties.
