A divulgação da ciência nas escolas contribui para aumentar o interesse e o senso crítico dos estudantes e professores em face do conhecimento científico. O objetivo deste projeto foi divulgar ciência nas escolas por meio do tema: cárie dentária. O público-alvo foi composto por estudantes e professores do ensino fundamental da rede pública de Porto Alegre, RS. O projeto promoveu atividades lúdico-educativas abordando temas relacionados à cárie dentária e associando-os aos conteúdos de disciplinas curriculares do segmento escolar. Foram realizadas também atividades de capacitação para os professores, visando a formação de multiplicadores dos conteúdos abordados com os estudantes. O projeto aumentou o interesse pelo conhecimento científico, promovendo saúde dentro do ambiente escolar. Os acadêmicos participantes vivenciaram diferentes realidades e exerceram seus papéis de divulgadores da ciência, fazendo a integração entre extensão, pesquisa e ensino.

Verificamos nesta tese processos de vigilância prático-epistêmica em planos de ação intencional de negociações caracterizáveis como dilemas de prisioneiro. Para tanto, a partir das noções teóricas de relevância de Sperber e Wilson (1986; 1995) e de conciliação de metas de Rauen (2014), analisamos rodadas finais de três episódios do game show britânico Golden Balls nas quais os jogadores decidem dividir ou roubar o prêmio final. Assumindo que o conceito de dilema do prisioneiro em teoria dos jogos não considera aspectos comunicativos essenciais e promovendo uma perspectiva pragmático-cognitiva para a área da administração, argumentamos que contextos cognitivos individuais complexos influenciam planos de ação intencionais e respectivas argumentações e tomadas de decisão. As evidências – com amparo em estudos de Mercier e Sperber (2017), Kahneman (2012) e Sperber et al. (2010) – sugerem fragilização de mecanismos de vigilância prático-epistêmica da cognição humana em situações estressantes de negociação envolvendo metas encobertas.

Therapeutic enzymes are currently used in the treatment of several diseases. In most cases, the benefits are limited due to poorAmong the delivery systems, we focused on red blood cells for the delivery of therapeutic enzymes. Erythrocytes possess a long circulation time, a reduced immunogenicity, there is no need of chemical modifications and the encapsulated enzyme remains active because it is protected by the cell membrane. Here we discuss some representative applications of the preclinical developments of the field. Some of these are currently in clinic, others are approaching the clinic and others are illustrative of the development process. The selected examples are not always the most recent, but they are the most useful for a comparative approach.The results discussed confirm the central role that red blood cells can play in the treatment of several conditions and suggest the benefit in using a natural cellular carrier in terms of pharmacokinetic, biodistribution, safety, and efficacy.

O Brasil, em diferentes momentos da história, evidencia descaso político com a educação e, portanto, com o ensino de línguas estrangeiras. Neste artigo, por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, buscou-se relatar e discutir o percurso histórico do ensino de línguas estrangeiras (ELE) em âmbito nacional e no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, com um foco especial na língua inglesa. Dessa forma, este trabalho procura contribuir com a compreensão do processo evolutivo do ELE, desde o Brasil Colônia até os dias atuais, destacando altos e baixos do percurso para compreender a situação atual, as causas e consequências desse processo complexo, polêmico e não tão bem-sucedido como poderia. Também, buscou-se analisar, evidenciar e discutir os aspectos convergentes sobre esse processo, em documentos orientativos educacionais federais e estaduais, que vêm sendo publicados desde a década de 1990. Com isso, o intuito da pesquisa foi compreender a pertinência e as possíveis convergências das propostas desses documentos para o ensino de língua inglesa no sistema educacional público hoje.

This theoretical essay aims to point out the main contributions in the health and workers' safety aspects, considering the laws, public policies, international recommendations, and point out possible paths and roles of Occupational Therapy to fight against COVID-19 Brazilian pandemic. The literature shows that health care workers have three times more likely to get infected than the general population. Thus, in Brazil, the Federal Government needs to articulate with the local and regional sphere to create, adapt, implement and inspect laws, policies, and standards on workers' health and safety to ensure conditions to work and reduce health risks for workers during the pandemic. Regarding Occupational Therapy, initial guidelines were pointed out about the work in the occupational health, considering policies of the Unified Health System, National Health Policy for Workers and Federal Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. The actions must be directed not only to health service workers, but also to other essential assistance services, and those who work in an unregulated manner.

Introduction: The National Curricular Guidelines for the Undergraduate Course in Occupational Therapy define the principles for the organization and development of pedagogical projects and propose specific competences for occupational therapists. Objectives: To identify and understand the professional specificity and identity present in the 34 competences presented as specific to occupational therapists by the document. Method:Based on the analysis of the guidelines, these competences weresystematized according to their professional specificity, and descriptive syntheses were elaborated, with their characteristics and weaknesses. Results: Of the 34 competences, only four distinguish the profession, differentiating it from the others. Discussion: The weakness in the definition of specific competences means that they establish few relations with the objects and objectives of the profession and do not allow the identification, accreditation or evaluation of the professional profile. Conclusion: The main challenge of the reformulation of national guidelines is to define competences that contemplate the paradigmatic change and the professional identity built from it, in order to give specificity to thecompetences developed in the training in Occupational Therapy.

Assim como qualquer item, uma construção possui uma vida útil que considera o seu nascimento como momento que ela é concebida em projeto, e sua morte como sendo sua demolição final. Durante sua vida uma construção deve passar por manutenções (preventivas, adaptativas e corretivas) que permitem o prolongamento do seu uso, mantendo o seu nível de desempenho dentro do aceitável. Muitas vezes as ações corretivas se dão em períodos curtos de tempo, intervalos abaixo do esperado por seus usuários ou administradores. Obviamente toda intervenção trás consigo um custo financeiro, que cresce dependendo do momento em que ela ocorra dentro da vida da construção. Muito além do custo financeiro, toda atividade causa impacto no meio ambiente, gerando assim um custo ambiental. Determinar o preço ambiental do refazimento de uma obra, em um curto espaço de tempo (menor que o esperado) ilustra o peso deste custo, muitas vezes invisível ou negligenciado, é necessário. A Análise do refazimento de uma obra devido a falhas construtivas que trouxeram uma drástica queda no desempenho no uso do empreendimento demonstrou que o custo ambiental é proporcionalmente muito maior que o custo financeiro esperado. Sabendo que o custo financeiro de correções construtivas ao longo da vida do imóvel cresce em uma progressão geométrica de base 5, permite comparar o quanto o custo ambiental pode desequilibrar a sustentabilidade. Analisando que a intervenção de uma área de 4.200 m quadrados utilizou uma área ambiental de 1.360.000 m quadrados, faz com que os sinais de alerta se acendam demonstrando que a correção de um erro construtivo é muito maior para o meio ambiente que o custo financeiro envolvido. And this accelerated population gain brings with it numerous consequences, among them, the need to produce more food, housing and infrastructure. This all leads us to consume more and more natural resources and also increases the generation of waste and waste. The so-called carrying capacity of the planet (condition of sustaining a population), has not evolved in the last centuries in the same index of population growth, that is, humanity is consuming natural resources and generating waste at a speed higher than that which the planet is capable of. produce and absorb. To continue supporting the growing population of the planet, it is necessary to experiment with new technologies, methodologies and processes so that this growth is supported by the tripod of sustainability. The term sustainable development has the most common, and accepted, meaning that points to a tripod of economic growth, environmental preservation and social development. Civil construction is an essential economic sector in the development of any country and society, being responsible for a large fraction of the quality of life of human beings, since they alter the natural environment for better use of space. Understanding the environmental cost of correcting a construction failure is the objective of this work. There are countless studies that point to the financial cost of the so-called rework, but few look at this phenomenon under the environmental lens. The entire life cycle of an enterprise, from its design to its ruin, through its construction and use, causes environmental marks. To correct flaws in works already completed, or in use, there is a need to consume new materials, involving an entire production chain and generating new waste. To produce a certain input that will be used in the correction of a pathology, the following are required: consumption of raw materials to conceive it, energy consumption to manufacture it, waste to produce it, expenses with transportation to take it from the factory to the point of use. All of these steps in the process consume environmental resources. At the other end of the error correction, for the pathology to be eliminated, it must be removed from the site (demolition of a crooked wall, for example) using energy and producing residues from this removal. This waste will be transported to a suitable disposal site, that is, using more energy in this process. In addition, it is still necessary to transform a harmful waste into something less aggressive to the environment. Given the above, the purpose of this research is to understand the size of the impact that a constructive failure can cause to the environment depending on its severity and the moment it is detected. In order to carry out this work, a project was followed up with a short time of use, but which needed major interventions due to the flaws found. With the analysis of the presented pathologies it was possible to measure how much they weighed, and will weigh, to the environment. In addition, analyzing the origin and the correction method implemented will allow to index each of the flaws found environmentally, measuring how much the planet s carrying capacity could have been preserved had these defects not occurred. The useful life of a building can be understood as the time interval from its birth, marked by its design concept, until its death with its demolition and / or disuse. Project useful life (VUP) must be defined by the developer and the project designer. VUP, despite being a temporal measure, has an economic character, being defined as the best relation between global cost versus time to enjoy the good. Sustainability, despite not having a unanimous definition, is a concept that must integrate aspects of social-ecological dimensions, economic factors, and the short, medium and long term advantages. Putting together all the concepts expressed by several authors, sustainability can be defined as the attempt to achieve economic and social growth while preserving the finite resources of the environment. For more than 40 years, humanity s demand for nature has exceeded the planet s replacement capacity. Currently 1.5 Earth planets would be needed to provide the ecological services that were used in the 1980s. Trees are cut faster than they can ripen, more fish are caught than the oceans can replenish and more carbon is emitted than forests and oceans can absorb. The carrying capacity of the planet has been compromised in a way never before experienced by humanity, to meet the current lifestyle of the population. Consumerism is seen as a behavior that leads to an increase in production and, consequently, to economic progress, but this equation is limited by resources that cannot sustain unlimited growth. Finite spaces cannot absorb waste that grows indefinitely. The carrying capacity of a system is obviously influenced by factors such as average income, material expectations and level of technology, that is, energy and material efficiency. There are few systems of indicators that analyze sustainable development in a generic way. The most commonly used indicators globally are as follows: (1) Sustainability Panel, (2) Sustainability Barometer and (3) Ecological Footprint. The indicator called Ecological Footprint has the advantage of being easily visualized, since the Ecological Footprint represents the ecological space necessary to sustain a given system, or community. It is a simple tool that counts the flows of matter and energy that enter and leave an economic system, converting them into areas of land, or water, necessary to sustain such a system. The Ecological Footprint is a method that transforms the consumption of raw materials and the assimilation of waste from an economic system, or from a human population, into an area corresponding to productive land or water. Using this method, it is possible to calculate the area of the ecosystem needed to ensure the eternal survival of a given population or system. Once this equivalent area of the ecosystem has been determined, it is possible to visualize how much it appropriates the carrying capacity of the planet as a whole. In fact, the size of the Footprint can change depending on the new technologies developed, which can be more or less resource-consuming and wastegenerating. The calculation method for measuring the Ecological Footprint, although easily intuitive, is difficult to carry out with regard to data collection.

To summarize and evaluate critically the results of clinical trials comparing the risk of failure of restorations after chemomechanical and mechanical carious tissue removal.The PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, LILACS, Web of Science, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) databases, and grey literature were searched to identify studies related to the research question and published up to January 2022. Two authors independently selected the studies, extracted the data, and assessed the risk of bias and the certainty of evidence. Meta-analysis was performed using a random effects model to compare the effect of chemomechanical and mechanical excavation on the outcome (restorative failure), considering the type of carious tissue removal (selective and complete) as subgroups.From 443 potentially eligible studies, 58 clinical studies were selected for full-text analysis, and 6 were included in the review. There was no statistically significant difference in the risk for failure of restorations performed after chemomechanical and mechanical excavation (RR: 1.26, 95% CI 0.93; 1.72, p = 0.14) either for complete (p = 0.97) or selective (p = 0.11) carious tissue removal. The heterogeneity found was null. The risk of bias was high and the certainty of evidence was low.Based on the low certainty of evidence, the risk of failure of restorations performed after chemomechanical and mechanical carious tissue removal is similar.Chemomechanical carious tissue removal may be performed before restoration placement, without jeopardizing the short-term longevity. Further studies are required before definitive conclusions can be drawn.

Introdução: As preocupações com a saúde do ser humano e com a produção sustentável de alimentos são desafios constantes. Aumento dos níveis de radiações, aquecimento global, secas, enchentes, pandemia, guerras e a promessa de acabar com a fome no mundo até 2030. Nesse contexto, a Deinococcus radiodurans tem atraído muita atenção nos últimos anos. Bactéria extremófila registrada no Guinness Book of World Records como a mais resistente do mundo, é capaz de tolerar radiação ionizante (RI), radiação ultravioleta (UV), dessecação, vácuo, mitomicina C (MMC) e estresse oxidativo intenso, além de apresentar as vantagens de forte crescimento, fácil cultivo e ausência de patogenicidade, o que a torna um microrganismo promissor para o desenvolvimento e aplicação prática. Objetivos: Este trabalho tem o objetivo geral de trazer uma atualização acerca das aplicações potenciais da D. radiodurans nas áreas de medicina e biotecnologia. Como objetivos específicos procuramos rever as suas características estruturais peculiares, os seus mecanismos bioquímicos de resistência, bem como entender a sua intrigante adaptabilidade a ambientais hostis. Metodologia: Este trabalho é uma revisão bibliográfica, na qual foram pesquisadas três bases de dados de literatura eletrônica (PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane) para os termos de pesquisa relevantes. O estudo abrangeu publicações em Português, Espanhol e Inglês para o período de 2016 a 2022. Resultados: Alguns dos recursos genéticos únicos da D. radiodurans já têm sido utilizados a favor do ser humano, como na medicina, auxiliando a desenvolver vacinas de maneira rápida e econômica ou na elaboração de novos protocolos radioterápicos, e na biotecnologia, melhorando a resistência de outras espécies e a produção da indústria alimentícia. Aplicações em novas conjunturas têm sido discutidas, como o estudo de sua radiorresistência ao nível molecular, o qual permitiria explorar a patogênese das células tumorais com mais precisão e descobrir drogas antirradiação. Conclusão: À medida que aperfeiçoarmos as pesquisas sobre a D. radiodurans, mais valiosas aplicações dessa bactéria serão descobertas e utilizadas, acompanhando e auxiliando o ser humano em sua árdua jornada, contra todas as probabilidades e até o fim.

Esta pesquisa possui o objetivo de verificar na literatura, como vem sendo atestada a eficácia do método Pilates e sua influência em indivíduos saudáveis. Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa. Os artigos foram selecionados em maio de 2021, nas bases de dados PubMed e Lilacs, sendo utilizada a palavra-chave Pilates e o filtro para ensaios clínicos. Foram incluídos artigos que cumpriram os seguintes critérios: estudos clínicos randomizados, controlados, com indivíduos saudáveis, com grupo de intervenção em Pilates, nas línguas portuguesa e inglesa, com acesso gratuito e publicados nos últimos 5 anos, exceto artigos de revisão de literatura. Dos 234 artigos encontrados na busca, 4 artigos foram selecionados. A extração dos dados foi feita de forma padronizada com os seguintes dados: título, referências bibliográficas, método (número de participantes, características da amostra, grupos em que a amostra foi randomizada, frequência semanal, duração da intervenção, duração da sessão, exercícios e modo de progressão utilizados na intervenção), objetivo do estudo e principais resultados. Observou-se que a intervenção do método Pilates, de maneira geral, foi capaz de gerar melhorias na maior parte dos desfechos pesquisados em indivíduos saudáveis, sendo eles: equilíbrio, força, flexibilidade, qualidade de vida, postura e desempenho na corrida.

Este editorial tem como objetivo destacar um breve posicionamento sobre o contexto atual de pandemia de coronavirus e apresentar o suplemento que a Revista Interinstitucional Brasileira de Terapia Ocupacional – REVISBRATO oferece como, entao, contribuicoes tecnico-cientificas da area para as demandas e crises desveladas. Trata-se de um texto produzido a partir da nota escrita pela professora Dra. Marilia Bregalda, do Departamento de Terapia Ocupacional da Universidade Federal da Paraiba, divulgada em site oficial da instituicao e reeditado para este editorial. Assim, esperamos que este numero possa contribur com a area de Terapia Ocupacional, a fim de fomentar outras e novas pesquisas, oportunizar informacoes para a tomada de decisoes na pratica e promover a visbilidade da Terapia Ocupacional, enquanto area de direito a populacao e de significativas conttrbuicoes para a sociedade, em especial considerando o posicionamnto de suas entidades representativas. Frente a conjuntura politica, economica e social brasileira, caracterizada por ataques a democracia e pela retirada de direitos sociais, este texto busca analisar os pontos centrais dos atuais retrocessos das politicas publicas de saude, educacao, assistencia social e direitos humanos, nas quais a Terapia Ocupacional, nos âmbitos da assistencia, formacao, gestao e formulacao e implementacao de politicas publicas, encontra-se diretamente implicada. Compreende-se que as proposicoes do atual governo para esses campos fragilizam e ameacam a continuidade da existencia de arranjos, estrategias e servicos territoriais, de base comunitaria, nos quais o terapeuta ocupacional compoe equipes multiprofissionais. Alem disto, causam profundos atravessamentos nos cotidianos dos sujeitos e coletivos e no exercicio de sua cidadania, em especial no que diz respeito ao acesso a servicos basicos de saude, educacao e assistencia social, bem como ao direito ao trabalho, a moradia, a previdencia social e a cultura. Frente aos ataques e desmontes colocados, tornam-se imperativas a mobilizacao coletiva, a ampliacao do debate publico e a articulacao com os movimentos de fortalecimento da cidadania e de controle social, em conjunto com os usuarios dos servicos e demais trabalhadores e gestores dos campos de atuacao da Terapia Ocupacional. Abstract Faced with the Brazilian political, economic and social environment, characterized by attacks on democracy and the withdrawal of social rights, this text seeks to analyze the central points of current setbacks of public policies of health, education, assistance social rights, in which Occupational Therapy, in the areas of assistance, training, management and formulation and implementation of public policies, is directly involved. It is understood that the current government's propositions for these fields weaken and threaten the continuity of the existence of territorial arrangements, strategies and services, of community basis, in which the occupational therapist composes multidisciplinary teams. In addition, they cause deep crosses in the daily lives of subjects and collectives and in the exercise of their citizenship, especially with regard to access to basic health, education and social assistance services, as well as the right to work, housing, social security and culture. In the face of the attacks and dismantling that have taken place, collective mobilization, the expansion of public debate and articulation with the movements to strengthen citizenship and social control, together with users of the services and others, become imperative workers and managers of the fields of occupational therapy. Resumen Frente a la situacion politica, economica y social brasilena, caracterizada por los ataques a la democracia y la retirada de los derechos sociales, este texto pretende analizar los puntos centrales de los actuales retrocesos en las politicas publicas de salud, educacion, asistencia social y derechos humanos, en las que la Terapia Ocupacional, en las areas de asistencia, formacion, gestion y formulacion e implementacion de politicas publicas, esta directamente involucrada. Se entiende que las propuestas del gobierno actual para estos campos debilitan y amenazan la continuidad de la existencia de arreglos territoriales, estrategias y servicios basados en la comunidad, en los que el terapeuta ocupacional compone equipos multiprofesionales. Ademas, provocan cambios profundos en la vida cotidiana de las personas y los grupos y en el ejercicio de su ciudadania, especialmente en lo que respecta al acceso a los servicios basicos de salud, educacion y asistencia social, asi como al derecho al trabajo, la vivienda, la seguridad social y la cultura. Frente a los ataques y desmantelamientos que se han producido, la movilizacion colectiva, la ampliacion del debate publico y la articulacion con los movimientos para el fortalecimiento de la ciudadania y el control social, junto con los usuarios de los servicios y otros trabajadores y gestores en el campo de la Terapia Ocupacional, se convierten en imperativos. Orientador: Paulo Sergio de Vasconcellos Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem Resumo: Os conceitos de sapientia e uirtus em Sêneca (4 a.C. ¿ 65 d.C.) permeiam grande parte de sua obra, sendo que, por vezes, encontram-se fortemente ligados: pode-nos parecer difícil pensar em uma pretensa relação de subordinação entre os conceitos de sabedoria e virtude em si mesmos; no entanto, o modo como ambos se conjugam na obra desse autor incita-nos a questionar se a meta final do homem é a virtude através da sabedoria, ou a sabedoria através da virtude. A filosofia estóica é bastante conhecida pelo fato de subjugar a lógica, e mesmo a física, à moral: como o próprio Sêneca apregoa, nada teria valor se não pudesse ser utilizado na vida prática. E, justamente no âmbito dessa, tais categorias são desenvolvidas nos escritos do estóico. Dessa forma, à primeira vista, tende-se a considerar que, para o filósofo, a sabedoria estaria subordinada à virtude. A pesquisa que realizamos dividiu-se em três etapas: a seleção e tradução de epístolas senequianas que expusessem sua concepção daqueles dois conceitos; a elaboração de notas explicativas; um estudo introdutório acerca da relação entre o ser sábio e a virtude, no contexto em que o filósofo se insere Abstract: The concepts of sapientia and uirtus in Seneca (4 b.C. ¿ 65 a. C.) permeates a great part of his works, seeing that, sometimes, they are strongly linked: it seems to be difficult to think about an assumed relation of subordination between the subjects of wisdom and virtue in themselves; nevertheless, the form both get conjugated in this author¿s works incites us to question if the man¿s final goal is virtue through wisdom or wisdom through virtue. The stoic philosophy is well known by the fact of subjudging the logic and even physics to ethics: as Seneca himself proclaims, it would be useless if it could not be used in daily life. And, precisely on its ambit, these categories are developed on the author¿s writings. Therefore, at first sight, it tends to consider that, for the philosopher, wisdom would be subordinated to virtue. Our research was divided into three steps: selection and translation of Seneca¿s epistles that expose his conceivings about the two concepts; elaboration of explicative notes and an introductory study about the relation between being a wise man and the virtue, in a context where the philosopher inserts himself Mestrado Mestre em Linguística

O artigo aborda a contribuição ricœuriana à educação, refletida especialmente a partir dos prismas da ética, da justiça e das instituições justas. Defende-se que o vínculo entre ética e justiça se dá nas instituições, aquelas que garantem a cada sujeito o seu direito. Disso resulta a contribuição elementar para refletir acerca da educação e dos processos educativos, já que ambos são mediados por instituições. Para fundamentar essa posição, a argumentação deste artigo se desdobra em três seções. Na primeira parte o texto busca recuperar a visada ética ricœuriana explorando especialmente o enunciado nuclear do seu pensamento: visar a verdadeira vida com e para o outro em instituições justas, elencada na obra O si mesmo como outro. A segunda parte do texto recupera o conceito de justiça e suas implicações para a vivência social. E, por fim, na terceira parte, procura-se elucidar a contribuição do pensamento ricœuriano à educação, explorando especialmente os conceitos de reconhecimento, instituições, justiça e sujeito capaz.
