Student's satisfaction is extremely important in online learning; some research have explored factors affecting student's satisfaction in having online learning amid the Covid-19 pandemic. This study evaluates educator performance who has designed online learning through evaluation on student's satisfaction. 112 students of Pharmacist Profession Program of Universitas Islam Indonesia have been surveyed through accidental sampling technique with cross sectional method throughout 2020 and being analyzed descriptively in a form of satisfaction percentage. Learning satisfaction that was measured using questionnaire includes learning satisfaction, tutorial and tutor activity, practicum activity, and health promotion practice. The result shows the percentage of student's satisfaction as follow: students are satisfied with learning process (48.94%), tutorial process (55.89%), tutor competency (50.41%), practicum activity (60.97%), practicum assistance competency (62.86%), and students are very satisfied with health promotion practice activity (51.19%). The data also shows dissatisfaction response toward lab assistant performance related to ethics, manner, assistant's interaction ability, and stability of signal. This paper aims to obtain information about the needs of teachers to develop and develop problem-based learning modules. The material produced was electrolyte and non-electrolyte material at the high school (SMA) level during the Covid-19 pandemic in Tulungagung Regency, East Java. The pandemic has changed the existing structures and systems in society, including the learning system. Learning during a pandemic is different from the learning system during a pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with the primary objective of analyzing the needs of Chemistry teachers to develop learning modules during the Covid-19 pandemic. The object of this research is high school chemistry teachers in Tulungagung Regency. The sample of this research is high school chemistry teachers in Tulungagung Regency, totaling 17 teachers. Data collection was carried out by distributing open-ended question questionnaires that explored the application and teacher's understanding of the development of the chemistry module. The results showed that 82% of teachers used modules as learning media before the pandemic, and 94% used modules of electrolyte and non-electrolyte materials during the pandemic. The way humans socialize and communicate is affected by the existence social media. Similarly, education is also undergoing transformation due to social media. Blended or online learning is more commonly used. Further, the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated this transformation. This paper describes an educational innovation in which TikTok (a social media platform that allows for creating and sharing video of which the users have increased significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic) was used as learning media. A total of 75 pharmacy students participated in this study. The data were analyzed using independent-sample t-test. The results revealed that TikTok brought a significant effect on academic achievement. The students also showed a positive response to the use of TikTok, in which 84% of the students found it easier to understand to course materials using TikTok, 80% of the students had better motivation to study course materials. This way, it is recommended to use TikTok as a teaching-learning tool regarding the fact that this platform can help improve the learning achievement of pharmacy students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, all learning is forced to be done boldly. It can not be separated from practicum learning. Therefore, it is necessary to have a bold learning innovation that is easily accessible to all students with a variety of devices and internet signals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using virtual practicum applications on the experience and knowledge gained by students. Knowing the effect of using the flip class and Step Card methods on students' understanding of critical steps in practicum. Thus, a Moodle-based integrated program was created. The application is inside with learning stages from assessment, virtual practicum (video), discussions and learning card games. The results of the program show student satisfaction and satisfaction in accessing practicum in a bold way. Students also feel an increase and increase in knowledge during the program. The industrial revolution led to the development of technology in various fields including education. Technology can assist in the manufacture of innovative teaching materials such as Augmented Reality (AR) technology. AR is able to display images through the scanning process using a smartphone device. Redox reaction material in Basic Chemistry II course requires a more realistic visualization to explain the occurrence of the reaction. This study aims to develop a product in the form of Augmented Reality-assisted teaching materials on redox reaction materials that are suitable for use in lectures. This research includes research and development with stages ranging from analysis, design, development and evaluation. Several validation tests were carried out on the product, namely in terms of material, media and readability to students. The results of the research are teaching materials products in the form of a Redox Reaction book and application software called Chem AR with the percentage of validation in terms of material, media and readability respectively 93.75%, 94.28% and 90.5%. It can be concluded that the teaching materials that have been developed are declared very suitable for use in basic Chemistry II lectures. Self-directed learning (SDL) is a challenge in online learning. Students' SDL habits would raise the engagement toward online learning and support the students' higher attainment. Thus, students' readiness in SDL is crucial. The self-directed learning readiness scale (SDLRS) by Fisher (2001) has been used widely to measure SDL. The original SDLRS written in English is a self-assessment tool for measuring students' readiness in practicing SDL. The adaptation of SDLRS into the Indonesian language would help teachers, faculty members, and educational institutions in Indonesia to measure students' readiness in SDL. Therefore, this study aimed to adapt SDLRS into the Indonesian language and determine the validity and reliability of the tool. Participants were 322 students consisted of 161 medical students and 161 non-medical students from a private university in Jakarta. The original SDLRS containing 40 items was forward and backward translated into the Indonesian language. Using corrected-items correlation, we defined the Indonesian SDLRS' validity. The correlation limit of 0.3 for each item is considered a valid item. There were five items rejected since r<0.3. Cronbach's Alpha defined the reliability. The Indonesian SDLRS reliability test showed a Cronbach's alpha coefficient value of 0.942 for the medical students' group and a value of 0.894 for the non-medical students' group. Therefore, we concluded that the Indonesian version of SDLRS is reliable. The Indonesian SDLRS with 35 items is a valid and reliable tool to measure students' readiness in SDL. The use of student's worksheets based on problem based learning was expected to enable students to have problem solving skills and provide opportunities for students to think and work together (collaboration skills) during learning. This study aimed to describe the teacher's need for student's worksheets based on problem-based learning to support the chemistry learning process in the classroom. The type of research is descriptive evaluation, the subjects of evaluation in this study are chemistry teachers, the instruments used in this study were interviews and descriptive data analysis. The results showed that student's worksheet based on problem-based learning were rarely used in the learning process, mostly using textbooks, androids, and PPT/LCD projectors. Making student worksheets based on problem-based learning required a long-time allocation in compiling various concepts according to the syntax of the problem-based learning model so that teachers felt less interested in making student worksheets based on problem-based learning. Meanwhile, at the time of application, the teacher must understand and master the student worksheets based on problem-based learning because it must be explained first to students before being done so that students understand how to work on student worksheets based on problem-based learning. This research has been conducted to: develop comics on hydrocarbon material and find out the feasibility of comics. This research is development research using the Borg and Gall model which is carried out until the fifth stage. The product development process is carried out by designing product designs that are then validated and assessed by material experts and media experts. Then it was tested on teachers and students in highschool. The assessment instruments used in the form of interviews needs analysis questionnaires and product assessment sheets. The learning media that have been developed are assessed by high school teachers and high school students as for the schools where there are five schools in Yogyakarta. This study aimed to determine: 1) the implementation of SAVI learning in the Management Laboratory and Quality Assurance in School Laboratories, 2) to determine the relationship between achievement and learning activities on student learning styles. This study used a correlation study with a sample of 40 students. This study used to test and non-test data collection techniques. Test research used the mid-test and final-test scores while the non-test score used the student learning activity questionnaire and the student learning style questionnaire. Based on the results of the study concluded that the implementation of SAVI learning by involving all physical activities in each learning process in the form of presentations and questions and answers, practicum and the making of learning videos. Student achievement scores at the mid-test and final-test were 68.275% and 72.625% while learning activities reached 53.833% at the mid-test and 55.237% at the final test. The relationship between learning achievement and student learning activities on learning styles that include visual, auditory and kinesthetic and there was no significant relationship between the two variables. Phytochemistry is one of the course in Chemistry Department's curriculum which discusses about biosynthetic path of secondary metabolite compound in a plant, classification of secondary metabolite compound, isolation technique, and identification analysis. This course is expected to be able to bridge the generations of a nation that has expertise in managing the natural resources of Indonesian plants. In this research, it was evaluated the implementation of case study learning method towards students' understanding on phytochemistry course. The learning processes were conducted in 2 cycles i.e. before and after midterm. The first seven themes of materials before midterm were learned with case study method and the next seven themes of materials were studied with the same method with the module-assisted. The results showed that there was enhancement of students' understanding in class D that were obtained from comparison of midterm and final test. Contrarily, the students of class C have no significant enhancement. In addition, it was predicted that understanding enhancement was strongly influenced by the life skills and the motivation of students especially the academic skills aspect. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Instructional technology course must be studied by students in order to 1) understand the role of technology in learning, 2) capable of analyzing advantages and disadvantages of using technology in teaching, 3) capable of performing technology in teaching. A poster session in instructional technology course was performed to 1) enhance students' interest in this course and develop students' creativity. This study aimed to know the effect of implementation modified spiral (or two-cycle) organic curriculum for Chemistry Education Undergraduate Students. The changing of curriculum that impacted in the organization of topics, was due to the low of student's achievement in Organic Chemistry courses. In a spiral curriculum, the first cycle was surveyed course which students learned about general organic chemistry that must be studied in year-long courses in the previous curriculum. The survey course discussed topics in less detail but with some emphasis on the topics that related to the chemistry for high school. The second course was the spiral of the first cycle that discussed the same chapter but in a more advanced discussion. In this cycle, students began to study about stereochemistry, mechanism of organic reaction and its application for daily need and industry. From the data analysis, there was a significant difference of students' achievement that learned with previous and spiral organic curriculum. This study aimed to analysis the quality of learning process based on scientific approach in physical chemistry experiment of Chemistry Education students, Islamic University of Indonesia. The research was descriptive qualitative. The samples of this research were 2nd semester student, class of 2015. Scientific data of learning process were collected by observation sheet and documentation of seven title experimental. The results showed that the achievement of scientific learning process on observing, questioning, experimenting and associating data were 73.98%; 81.79%; 80.74%; and 76.94% respectively, which categorized as medium. This study aims to determine the effect of scientific method using project method on student's achievement. This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Karanganyar. The descriptive quantitative method was used in this research. Samples were taken two classes using cluster random sampling. Data was obtained based on cognitive instruments. This data represents the value pretest and posttest. Data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis techniques. The results show that the class which using scientific method using project method has an average value of 37.50% of students' achievement (high), 37.50% (moderate) and 4.16% (very low). On the other hand, the class which using one method, scientific method, have the students' achievement at 33.3% (high), 8.33% (moderate) and 20.83% (very low). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The learning process on capita selecta subject of Chemistry Education Department, Islamic University of Indonesia, was carried out based on reviewing of journals in chemistry and chemistry education scopes. The learning process procedure included planning, implementation and reflection. The purposes of learning were 1) students got an insight into the trend research in chemistry and chemistry education scopes, 2) students knew how to access and search journals, 3) increased students learning motivation on reading scientific journals, 4) students had be trained for reviewing scientific journals, and inspiring students to think about research ideas, performed research and publishing in scientific journals.
