This paper extends and re-examines the author's previous findings using the same 2010 Canada Survey of Household Spending. Using a more advanced econometrics method, this paper empirically re-tests the four potential factors (price, economic, demographic, and geographic) that were significant. This paper concludes that economic and demographic factors are major determinants for hours of work by Canadians. Unlike the previous study, no provincial effects can be found. This means Atlantic Canadians work less not because of lifestyle choices but because of the lack of economic opportunities.

The article is based on the results of the sociological study on the value orientations of students in two traditional forms - full-time and part-time, the peculiarities of their educational trajectories, the motivation for choosing the form of education. The article tests the hypothesis about the presence (absence) of a pronounced connection between the organizational form of education at a university and the subsequent distribution of students, based on estimates of their level of education. The collection of empirical material on the research problem has been carried out in the course of planned research work devoted to the study of the image of the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. A number of associations about the university among those who received education in different forms of education have been identified and described Two approaches of value expectations from education have been identified : the first is closely related to the strengthening of the resource of the prestige of academic education, the second - with the increase in the educational potential of the educational institution. It has been proved that in full-time students the desire to improve themselves as individuals and professionals who can compete on the basis of improved personal competencies, and not on the symbolic attributes of the social hierarchy prevail; the educational efforts of a significant part of students by correspondence are focused mainly on achieving a formal learning outcome - an increase in status, and do not consider a diploma as a document that reflects the qualifications and level of education of the owner. The article makes a substantiated conclusion about the need to differentiate the status of the received educational document depending on the form of study at a university.

This study aims to determine the income of fulltime Grab drivers above or below the UMK applicable in Medan City. Based on the attachment to the Decree of the North Sumatra Governor in Decree Number 188.44 / 674 / KPTS / 2019 to determine the Provincial Minimum Wage and become a reference for determining the City Minimum Wage, the 2020 Medan City Minimum Wage is determined based on the Provincial Minimum Wage reference of IDR 3,222,556.This type of research is a case study conducted in the city of Medan. This study uses primary data in the form of interviews and questionnaires. Secondary data in the form of regulations on the official Grab website. The questionnaire was given to 60 Grab drivers who were at the grab station. The data analysis method used is descriptive comparative method. The results showed that the net income received by fulltime Grab drivers was above the UMK prevailing in Medan City.

Objective : Reading is a crucial academic behavior, which directly affects the formation of personality and develops people's thinking. In the higher education environment, reading culture helps students acquire new knowledge quickly and effectively. However, in recent years, young people and students tend to be lazy to read books, afraid of reading academic books while prefer reading comics and novels. At the same time, the dominance of the internet and audio-visual equipment makes reading in schools and universities become less attractive. This study was conducted with two objectives: (1) To describe the current situation of reading culture; and (2) To identify some factors affecting the reading culture of full-time bachelor students in Hanoi University of Public Health in 2019. Thereby, contributing to raise students' awareness about the roles of reading and providing information to help improving the quality and performance of the university’s library. Methods: The study was conducted on 420 full-time bachelor students from the first year to the fourth year, belonging to four majors of the Hanoi University of Public Health in 2019. Main findings: The study results showed that among 420 full-time bachelor students, 41.0% read books on a regular basis and 80.0% liked reading books. With regression bionary logistic analasys, associated factors with reading frequency includes: Going to library weekly (OR=1,87; p=0,004; CI95%: 1,22 – 2,84) and Completed reading the document assigned by teachers (OR=1,61; p=0,043; CI95%: 1,01 – 2,55). In addition, students who were reading addiction were likely to read all the book assigned, which was higher than the students who did not like reading. Conclusions: With full-time Bachelor students at Hanoi University of Public Health, percentages of students with frequent reading behavior were not high in general. However, it could be seen that the reading behavior of students was influenced by the teachers’ activities. Therefore, teachers should enhance checking books and course materials that students have read before classes as well as setting a criteria on the minimum number of academic books students should read while doing their assignments so that students are more aware of the importance of academic reading while studying at university. This essay strives to articulate the pedagogy of intimacy born from mothers' engagement in academic parenting when formal learning shifts from school to home. Redefining parenting and intimacy, mothers implicitly articulated an alternative pedagogy when the space and time of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic move to home. Listening to the self-narratives of mothers who work full time at home, at least part-time, as informants in thisqualitative study, the words "parenting" and "intimacy" were prominent inthe semi-structured interviews. In the pre-pandemic seasons, these wordswere identical to activities at home and were seen as unrelated, at leastlimitedly related, to formal education. Learning from home, especially withmothers' engagement in informal learning during the Covid-19 pandemic,challenges the boundaries of maternal involvement in the formal educationspace. Mothers re-centralize home both as space and as a time for learning.Mothers reiterate their central role as informal teachers, further pedagogues,in children's education. Articulating intimacy's pedagogy, they reclaim homeboth as the steaming time and ubiquitous space for self-determined learning.

Este artigo se pauta em uma pesquisa de mestrado sobre o currículo integrado do ensino médio técnico do Instituto de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Maranhão (IEMA), localizado no município de Bacabeira, Analisou-se a contribuição da proposta curricular desse Instituto para a formação humana e profissional dos alunos, tendo-se como foco o currículo integrado em tempo integral. As percepções dos alunos do 3º ano do Ensino Médio Profissionalizante do Instituto constituíram-se como ponto fundamental para a compreensão daquela contribuição, obtidas pela aplicação de questionários preformados e pela técnica do grupo focal. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa fundamentada em vários estudiosos, como: Bernstein (1996), Frigotto (2004), Santomé (1998), Lopes (2006), entre outros. Fundamentamo-nos também em documentos do Modelo da Escola da Escolha do Instituto de Corresponsabilidade pela Educação (ICE), que são norteadores da Proposta Pedagógica do IEMA. A pesquisa permitiu-nos uma visão mais acurada da percepção dos alunos sobre o currículo integrado em tempo integral no Ensino Médio do IEMA, expressa por eles como um currículo que vai além de um instrumento meramente técnico na medida em que proporciona a profissionalização ligada a uma formação humana integral materializada no Projeto de vida. Permitiu-nos também compreender que a organização contextualizada do tempo e da rotina de estudo estabelecida entre alunos e equipe escolar é fundamental na concretização de uma proposta de integração curricular.

Using longitudinal data and a cross-lagged, multigroup panel design, we examined unidirectional and bidirectional relationships between financial parenting and young adults' financial self-efficacy during the transition to adulthood. Because increasing college costs and student loan debt have changed the financial landscape of achieving higher education, we examined effects over time under 2 distinct conditions: a debt-financed college education and a debt-free college education. Analyses included the effects of 2 types of financial parenting: implicit role modeling and explicit communication. The sample was drawn from the Arizona Pathways to Life Success (APLUS) project, a cohort study of college students enrolled full time at a public university in the fall of 2007. Participants provided data at 3 time points across 5 years. The sample included 850 student loan borrowers and 800 nonborrowers. We found unidirectional patterns for both nonborrowers and borrowers depending on the type of financial parenting: Parents' explicit financial communication before college predicted higher levels of financial self-efficacy during freshman year for nonborrowers, whereas parents' implicit modeling before college predicted higher levels of financial self-efficacy during freshman year for borrowers. Financial self-efficacy led to less frequent explicit parental financial communication for nonborrowers after college but was associated with more frequent explicit parental financial communication during college for borrowers. Our findings suggest that explicit communication regarding basic finance principles is likely sufficient to support financial self-efficacy in a debt-free context, whereas observing parents' responsible financial behaviors may be beneficial for young adults who incur student loan debt. The paper examines the role of medical and social factors, general well-being, and quality of life in patients with hypertension. The role of the nurse of the therapeutic department in the preventive training of patients is emphasized to form a healthy lifestyle and reduce the pathogenic impact of negative social factors.Objective – substantiation of the main measures for prevention of hypertension and improvement of quality of life by studying medico-social and social factors of patients' quality of life with arterial hypertension by nurses.Material and methods. The survey (by questionnaire) involved 120 patients with arterial hypertension consulted at the Municipal Institution "Polyclinic №1" in Chernivtsi, including: men – 43.3%, women – 56.7% aged from 23 to 79 years. With the help of the questionnaires, medical and social, sociological factors of influence, general well-being and quality of life were studied. The research was conducted according to all ethical rules, in particular, in compliance with the principles of voluntariness, confidentiality, research integrity. The results of the study were processed by conventional statistical methods using computer packages STATISTICA 10 and presented by the appropriate number of observations, percentages, and the exact value of p.Results. I and II degree AH prevailed among the examined individuals, and burdened heredity was found in 62.5% (75 people). Insufficient amount of vegetables and fruits, fish in the diet and salt intake of more than 5 g per day (60%) was found. The vast majority of respondents had a secondary special, less of respondents – higher education. Social status survey: 71.62% were employed, most worked full time. According to the survey, 22.09% of people noted excellent working conditions, 38.37% – good, satisfactory – 25.58%, and 13.96% poor working conditions. It was found that the percentage of patients (60.47%), among whom there are excellent and good sanitary and working conditions, exceeds the percentage of respondents with satisfactory and poor working conditions (39.53%). The majority of respondents (53.49%) indicated satisfactory and poor psychological working conditions, which slightly exceeded the number of employees with excellent and good working conditions (46.51%). The advantage of assessing excellent and good material and technical working conditions over excellent and good psychological conditions (60.47% vs. 46.51%) was revealed. The financial condition of the majority of respondents was assessed as average (42.5%). The level of QOL fluctuated from very high to extremely low. Factors that led to a decrease in the level of QOL are the following: the indicator of "health" (1.44), "social status" (1.48), "job satisfaction" (1.59), "social activity" (1.62). Social factors such as financial difficulties, additional work to increase income were reported as negative during the last 6 months by every second patient; deterioration of mutual understanding, deterioration of relations: husband / wife, children, parents, friends, the threat of unemployment for relatives – every third respondent.Conclusions 1. 120 Patients with hypertension have a burdened heredity (62,5%), insufficient consumption of the recommended amount of vegetables and fruits (25,83%), fish in the diet (12,5%), and excessive salt consumption (60%); the predominance of people is with secondary special education and workers (71,62%) with excellent and good sanitation and satisfactory and poor psychological working conditions (39,53%), with an average financial situation (42,5%) and fluctuations in the level of QOL from very high to extremely low. 2. Hypertension worsens the QOL of patients, which is manifested by a decrease in both physical and psychological states. 3. The ability of patients to adequately perceive their disease and form attitudes toward treatment and prevention depends on the level of education. 4. Social support, training and diagnosis of hypertension are significant predictors of commitment to prevention and treatment. 5. Education of patients with hypertension on the principles of a healthy lifestyle by nurses, assistance in reducing the pathogenic impact of negative social factors, the constant promotion of medical knowledge will contribute to the formation of a responsible attitude to maintaining their own health, prevent complications, improve the QOL and social adaptation.

Introduction: The survey carried out covered all students from the second course, specialty "Preschool and Primary School Pedagogy" at the Pedagogical Faculty of Trakia University, Stara Zagora, in full-time and extramural forms of studies. Purpose of the study: A comparative analysis of academic achievements in the subject "Sport animation in educational environment" of students of full-time and extramural forms of studying for kindergarten and elementary teachers at Thracian University, Stara Zagora. Methods: A comparative characteristic by age of the method "stem-leaf" with the purpose of reconnaissance (research) analysis of the data was performed. The statistical indicators coefficient of variation, asymmetry, excesses were used. A comparative analysis of the academic achievements of 127 students for the degree of competence after completion of the training course "Sports animation in educational environment" was carried out. The structural differences (relative share, absolute sum, integral coefficient of structural divergence, Spearman and Kendal rank correlation coefficients) between the results of the conducted knowledge verification didactic test and the pedagogical monitoring of the degree of mastered skills and demonstrated relationship at the end of the training were analyzed. Findings and results: The survey outlined the following summaries: as a whole, the structural differences between the two forms of studies in relation to the acquired knowledge are not great, but the students of full-time form of studies give in the vast majority of cases more correct answers; The "fully mastered skill" assessment is most often greater with students of full-time form of studies compared to extramural form of studies, On skills and relationships that require greater life experience and discipline, the relative share of this assessment is, in more rare cases, greater for the extramural form of studies.

Social commerce is a mixture of e-commerce and social media. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of interpersonal competency on social commerce behavior through customer-perceived value. We adopt the aspects of interpersonal competence questionnaire (ICQ) to investigate its effect on customer-perceived value including utilitarian value, hedonic value, social value, and privacy risk of social commerce. We then analyze primary data collected from 255 active young consumers of college students of full time and part time at a university who have used social media. Our findings show the effect of interpersonal competence on customer-perceived value. Moreover, they also demonstrate the effect of the utilitarian value and social value on behavioral intention toward social commerce, recognizing the importance of functional utility of commerce activities and social utility of social media use in social commerce.

BACKGROUND: As lockdown measures to slow the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection begin to ease in the UK, it is important to assess the impact of any changes in policy, including school reopening and broader relaxation of physical distancing measures. We aimed to use an individual-based model to predict the impact of two possible strategies for reopening schools to all students in the UK from September, 2020, in combination with different assumptions about relaxation of physical distancing measures and the scale-up of testing.METHODS: In this modelling study, we used Covasim, a stochastic individual-based model for transmission of SARS-CoV-2, calibrated to the UK epidemic. The model describes individuals' contact networks stratified into household, school, workplace, and community layers, and uses demographic and epidemiological data from the UK. We simulated six different scenarios, representing the combination of two school reopening strategies (full time and a part-time rota system with 50% of students attending school on alternate weeks) and three testing scenarios (68% contact tracing with no scale-up in testing, 68% contact tracing with sufficient testing to avoid a second COVID-19 wave, and 40% contact tracing with sufficient testing to avoid a second COVID-19 wave). We estimated the number of new infections, cases, and deaths, as well as the effective reproduction number (R) under different strategies. In a sensitivity analysis to account for uncertainties within the stochastic simulation, we also simulated infectiousness of children and young adults aged younger than 20 years at 50% relative to older ages (20 years and older).FINDINGS: With increased levels of testing (between 59% and 87% of symptomatic people tested at some point during an active SARS-CoV-2 infection, depending on the scenario), and effective contact tracing and isolation, an epidemic rebound might be prevented. Assuming 68% of contacts could be traced, we estimate that 75% of individuals with symptomatic infection would need to be tested and positive cases isolated if schools return full-time in September, or 65% if a part-time rota system were used. If only 40% of contacts could be traced, these figures would increase to 87% and 75%, respectively. However, without these levels of testing and contact tracing, reopening of schools together with gradual relaxing of the lockdown measures are likely to induce a second wave that would peak in December, 2020, if schools open full-time in September, and in February, 2021, if a part-time rota system were adopted. In either case, the second wave would result in R rising above 1 and a resulting second wave of infections 2·0-2·3 times the size of the original COVID-19 wave. When infectiousness of children and young adults was varied from 100% to 50% of that of older ages, we still found that a comprehensive and effective test-trace-isolate strategy would be required to avoid a second COVID-19 wave.INTERPRETATION: To prevent a second COVID-19 wave, relaxation of physical distancing, including reopening of schools, in the UK must be accompanied by large-scale, population-wide testing of symptomatic individuals and effective tracing of their contacts, followed by isolation of diagnosed individuals.FUNDING: None.

The assessment of the capacity of Primary Health Care (PHC) settings for the management of hypertension is essential to identify areas for improving management outcomes. This study aimed to assess the capacity of PHC centers in Jordan to manage hypertension including the assessment of human resources, equipment, and infrastructure. All comprehensive PHC centers located in Irbid and Mafraq governorates in north of Jordan (n = 23) were assessed. An assessment tool from HEARTS Technical Package was adapted and used for assessment. All centers have general practitioners and half of the centers (n = 11, 47.8%) had at least one family doctor working full time. In only one center, all doctors, nurses, and other health workers were trained on the management of hypertension. All centers, except one, had at least one functional automatic blood pressure measuring devices (BPMDs). Almost two thirds of centers (43.5%) had no measuring tapes. ECG machines were present in all centers except two. One third (n = 8, 34.8%) of centers had no functional glucometers. The majority of health centres carry out the laboratory investigations. Educational materials on physical activity, hypertension, and diabetes were seen in four (17.4%) centers only. Necessary medications were always available in the majority of health centers. In conclusion, this assessment revealed many areas for improvement in human resources, equipment, infrastructures, and other resources, such as developing an updated guideline/protocol of hypertension management, training the PHC staff on these guidelines, providing PHC centers with the necessary equipment, and establishing e-registry to improve documentation of data.

BACKGROUND: Musculoskeletal symptoms (MSSs) remain the most frequently reported type of injuries sustained during fire-ground operations in firefighters. However, there is a paucity of reports concerning the prevalence estimates of MSSs among female firefighters and different fire services across Canada. OBJECTIVES: To assess the point prevalence of self-reported MSSs, stratified by age and sex in a cohort of active duty firefighters from across Canada, and to determine whether age, sex or length of service can be used to predict the likelihood of the number of MSSs sustained. METHODS: We recruited 390 firefighters (272 males, 118 females). To identify the prevalence of self-reported rates of MSSs, firefighters were asked to complete a standardized 11-item questionnaire that asked, 'Please indicate whether you have experienced pain in any body region within the last week', with response options that included 'Yes', 'No', and 'Head', 'Neck', 'Shoulder', 'Arm/Elbow/Hand', 'Back', 'Stomach/Abdomen', 'Upper Thigh', 'Knee', 'Lower Leg', 'Foot', 'Other, please specify'. RESULTS: Among the 390 full-time firefighters, 212 (54%) indicated to have experienced some type of MSSs within the last week. The most prevalent region-specific MSSs included, 123 (32%) in the back region, 92 (24%) in the shoulder region, 74 (19%) in the neck region and 70 (18%) in the knee region. In addition, women indicated a 1.6 times greater likelihood of sustaining ≥2 MSSs when controlling for individual differences in age and years of service. CONCLUSIONS: The point prevalence of MSSs in a cohort of full-time firefighters was 54% (55% males; 53% females). Women experienced a 1.4-1.6 times greater likelihood of sustaining MSSs when controlling for individual differences in age and years of service.

This study determined the impact of COVID-19 among frozen meat business operators in the Tamale metropolis, Ghana. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 65 frozen meat business operators/respondents. The results showed that, most of the respondents had secondary education (50.8%), engaged in the business on full time (84.6%) and started it with their own capital (96.9%). COVID-19 had a negative impact on respondents (73.8%), most importantly low sales (64.6%). This was due to financial challenges of clients/customers (43.1%) and close-down of the hospitality industry (20.0%). Three of the respondents laid off workers due to COVID-19. Some (24.6%) of the respondents were not prepared for COVID-19 because they least expected it will cause such crises. Their businesses will collapse (44.6%) or they will close down their business themselves (43.1%) if lockdown due to COVID-19 lasts for more than 5 months. The respondents suggested the reduction of tax at the harbour (69.2%) as a potential means of assisting them during COVID-19 and massive reduction in the price of meat (41.3%) as a means of assisting their business post COVID-19. The study concludes that COVID-19 had negative effect on frozen meat operators in Tamale, Ghana.

Background Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) play a pivotal role in meeting the increasing needs of elder care given the aging population. A good understanding of the characteristics of gerontological APRNs is important for future workforce planning. Purpose To understand the demographic, employment, and practice characteristics of APRNs who provide elder care. Methods A 34-item survey was distributed to 2,500 current members of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association. Three hundred and sixty-four members provided demographic information and employment and practice patterns. To examine the sample representativeness, the survey sample was compared with a sample drawn from the National Sample Survey of Nurse Practitioners 2012. Descriptive statistics were used for analysis. Results Most respondents were older than 55 years, held a master's degree, were certified as a Gerontology APRN, worked in a long-term/elder care setting as an APRN, earned a salary ranging from $105,001 to $125,000, and practiced in urban or suburban areas. Most respondents worked full time, provided care for people who were 55 to 75 years old, and prescribed under a collaborative agreement. Implications for practice The study results suggested that gerontological APRNs have the experience and competence to meet the increasing needs of elder care, practice in a variety of settings, including in rural areas, and spend much time with patients. Future efforts are needed to support APRN practice, such as improving their autonomy and independence.

The majority of male workers spend full-time hours in the labour market while part-time employment is heavily female dominated. A decade of economic unrest in the UK following the recession of 2008–2009 was accompanied by a considerable expansion in the numbers of men working part-time. Growing male part-time employment is a significant phenomenon, with potential for narrowing gender inequalities in ways of working, inside and outside the home. Applying a gendered lens to men’s working lives, the article focuses upon the ramifications of this growing male work-time diversity. Unsettled times can create the circumstances for opening up acceptable behaviours, for ‘undoing’ gender roles. The financial circumstances of male part- and full-timers, and men’s engagement in unpaid domestic work, are compared. Part-time jobs are associated with more financial hardship than are full-time, but they offer up the potential for narrowing gender inequality in the sharing of core domestic work tasks.

Applying and getting into the Journal of Nepal Medical Association team was only the start of a very vast learning experience. Learning leadership qualities, time management skills, communication skills and technical skills, helped me to excel in my duty as assistant editor and a medical student. Involving in the training and working with authors and the editorial team, I have learned about the actual research and its scenario in Nepal.

We are living through a monumental change in work. Experiments during the pandemic turned into regular operations, and have had a profound impact on perceptions of the viability of remote work. I do not lightly use the word “profound.” The trend reverses more than two centuries of separating the location of work and residences. That separation has deep roots, and reflects something fundamental about the gains to society from separating work from other activities. All developed countries have this feature. The pandemic brought about an acceleration of remote work. To appreciate how suddenly this arrived, consider that two years ago less than 25% of the U.S. workforce participated in some sort of remote work at home, and it was typically less than half their work hours. During the height of the pandemic, however, approximately 40% of the U.S. labor force participated in remote work, and it was full time at home.

The study assessed principals’ compliance with Federal Ministry of Education guidelines on schools and learning facilities reopening after COVID-19 closures in South-East Nigeria. One research question guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised 1,378 principals in 1,378 public secondary schools in south east, Nigeria. A sample size of 689 principals was drawn for the study using multi-stage sampling procedure. The instrument titled ‘‘Federal of Ministry of Education Joint Assessment Checklist for Safe Reopening of Schools and Learning Facilities (FMEJACSRSLF)’’ was utilized for data collection. The instrument was duly validated by three experts and using Cronbach alpha method for test of internal consistency, reliability index of 0.81 was obtained. Data collected were analyzed using arithmetic mean and standard deviation. The results of the study revealed among other that principals’ comply with Federal Ministry of Education guidelines on schools and learning facilities reopening after COVID-19 closures in South-East Nigeria to a great extent. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that the State Ministry of Education should ensure that at least two qualified health personnel are employed and posted on full time basis to man each of the secondary schools to provide services to contain and minimize the spread of the virus.

This paper reveals the results of the research “Im-plementation models of mentoring and methodolog-ical support for young teachers in the practice of Moscow schools of the State Autonomous Educa-tional Institution of Higher Education of Moscow State Pedagogical University (MCU) in 2019–2020”. This article presents a description of a dual face-to-face and distance model of mentoring for a young teacher with the participation of a pedagogical uni-versity as a platform and organizer of mentoring. This model ensures the integration of a novice spe-cialist into the educational environment of the me-tropolis as a whole, not limited to intra-school men-toring. The elements of the model are the digital platform “MGPU-your mentor”, personal mentoring, full-time system of thematic meetings and discus-sions of young teachers with experts of the modern education system, master classes of university teachers, a club of young teachers, methodological and thematic consulting, refresher courses. The methodological foundations of the mentoring model are determined. The study was carried out as part of the organizational and methodological work “Im-plementation of models of mentoring and methodo-logical support for young teachers in the practice of Moscow schools in the Main Educational Institution of Higher Education MSPU in 2019–2020”. The basis for the work is the Moscow state program “Devel-opment of education in the city of Moscow (“Capital education”)” for 2012–2020.

There are major assumptions that housing opportunities in higher education are equally accessible and available to all students. However, these accessible housing opportunities are not available to current and prospective students who possess a criminal record. Many college students with criminal records are deemed ineligible for adequate housing opportunities even before their applications are submitted. This study uses a qualitative layered analysis approach to explore how denials from on-campus housing affect college students with criminal records. Using the perspectives of this marginalized and invisible student population, we draw the reader’s attention to how students with criminal records are affected as a result of being denied on-campus housing, and we provide tangible recommendations for future research, housing practices, and housing policies in higher education.

This study examined the impact of organizational justice on employeedissent from the perspective of female employees. Participants were 210full time female teachers working in severalPakistan. Scope of this research shall encompass the justice and dissentperceptions of female teachers in these universities. This research uses aquantitative method by using survey, and proportionate stratified randomsampling technique was used to collect data. Multiple regression analysiswas used in order to explore the relationship between variables. Resultsindicated that perceptions of interactional and distributive justice are negatively associated with displaced dissen not related with displaced dissent. Interactional justice proved to be thestrongest predictor of displaced dissent followed by distributive justice.Perceptions of organizational justice were not related to latent or articulated dissent. Future research should also focus on explaining occurrence of dissent in various organizational settings such as service or production based organizations

Background There are ongoing accessibility challenges in primary care in British Columbia, Canada, with 17% of the population not having a regular source of care. Anecdotal evidence suggests that physicians are moving away from a community-based comprehensive practice model, which could contribute to shortages. Thus, we aimed to identify and describe how family physicians are currently organizing their primary care practices in a large health region in British Columbia and to examine differences between newer graduates and more established physicians. Methods Data for this cross-sectional study were drawn from an annual physician privileging survey. N = 1017 physicians were invited to participate. We categorized practice style into five distinct groupings and compared features across respondent groups, including personal and practice location characteristics, hospital and teaching work, payment and appointment characteristics, and scope of practice. We discuss the implications of styles of practice and associated characteristics on health workforce policy and planning. Results We received responses from 525 (51.6%) physicians. Of these, 355 (67.6%) reported doing at least some community-based primary care. However, only 112 (21.3%) provided this care full time. Most respondents supplemented community-based work with part-time hours in focused practice, hospitals, or inpatient facilities. We found diversity in the scope and style of practice across practice models. Compared to established physicians, new graduates (in practice less than 10 years) work more weekly hours (more patient care, and paperwork in particular). However, we found no difference between new and established physicians in the odds of providing any or full-time community-based primary care. Conclusions Despite a lack of formalized structural reform in British Columbia’s primary care system, most physicians are finding alternative ways to model their practice and shifting away from work at single-location, community-based clinics. This shift challenges assumptions that are relied on for workplace planning that is intended to ensure adequate access to longitudinal, community-based family medicine.

This paper explores the trade-offs between four different aspects of European workers’ life satisfaction (satisfaction with education, the present work, family life and social life), to reach balanced optimal levels across these features. This analysis was performed separately for different profiles of workers, i.e. full-time and part-time workers in 34 different European countries, differentiated by gender. The methodology employed for this purpose couples econometric and multiobjective interval programming approaches, enabling to assess the compromises of specific aspects of workers’ personal and working conditions. Our findings indicate that current full-time working environments do not enable to foster higher levels of workers’ life satisfaction with more than one child. Moreover, full-time (unlike part-time) working activities allow reaching worse levels across all measures of life satisfaction under analysis in a best-case scenario. This outcome suggests a change of paradigm where workers are keen on sacrificing other aspects of life satisfaction (namely their earnings and benefits) if this means having a better compromise of their personal and working lives. It is clear that promoting one-sided policies that only account for workers’ satisfaction with their jobs and careers, without explicitly encompassing family values, affects fertility rates and population ageing, raising awareness of the importance of family work in policy-making.

In article aspects of granting by the employer to the employee of a standard tax deduction on an income tax on the child of full-time courses, the graduate student, the intern, the student, the cadet aged up to 24 years are considered. The amount of these deductions has been considered, the conditions for obtaining this deduction by the employees of the company have been analyzed, the documents on the basis of which this type of deduction is provided have been disclosed, the peculiarities of the deduction in cases when the child is 24 years old in the current year (the period from which deductions are not provided), the peculiarities of the deduction in case the child is disabled in group I and II have been considered. Practical examples are given.

Using hourly and weekly wages from the Canadian Labour Force Survey from 2000 until 2018, workers were separated into full-time and part-time and the following striking observation was documented. The overall gender wage gap is larger than either the full-time pay gap or the part-time pay gap, even after controlling for detailed personal and job characteristics. This result is a consequence of two findings: (i) part-time wages are lower than full-time wages, and (ii) the majority of part-time workers are women. In aggregation, this brings down the average female wage, leading to a larger aggregate gender wage gap. This was further linked to a differential selection by gender into full-time and part-time work, with women of higher earnings potential being overrepresented in the pool of part-time workers, resulting in no gender pay gap in the part-time worker category. Policies targeted at encouraging full-time employment for women should therefore reduce the gender wage gap.

Being discriminated against because of factors such as gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, and stature (i.e., height and weight) has been a common experience for women in traditionally men-dominated/identified occupations. Although women’s representation has risen in other men-dominated domains (Hughes 1995), within firefighting their presence remains extremely low in Canada (4.4% [Statistics Canada 2017]). Women firefighters mostly operate in a patriarchal context; they are often ignored, harassed, and treated poorly due to an intersectionality of factors (Paechter 1998). Thus far, most research has taken place in the US, UK, and AUS. In the present Pan-Canadian study, we examined the experiences of volunteer and career women firefighters (N=113). The Psycho-Social Ethnography of the Commonplace methodology (P-SEC [Gouliquer and Poulin 2005]) was used. With this approach, we identified several practices, both formal and informal (e.g., physical and academic standards, gender roles), which resulted in women feeling the effect of the intersection of gender and firefighting. Results indicated that women firefighters experience “Othering” manifesting itself in a variety of ways such as discrimination, hostility, and self-doubt. This paper focuses on Canadia women firefighters and ends with social change and policy recommendations to better their reality.

Background. The influence of the educational environment on the personality and psycho-physical status of students is an urgent issue of differential psychophysiology since the rate of modernization of higher education is many times higher than the capabilities of adaptation to long-lasting environmental factors. Aim. The paper aims to assess the level of super slow biopo-tentials of the brain and identify personality structure in students of various universities of the Ural region. Materials and methods. Based on informed consent, 499 full-time students from various universities of the Ural region took part in the study. To identify the individual typologi-cal features, a battery of psychodiagnostic techniques was used such as the diagnosis of activity, motivation and self-regulation. The psychophysiological status of the central nervous system in students was assessed by the level of constant potential using the equipment developed by Neu-roenergetika. Mathematical processing of the results was carried out with Microsoft Excel 2010 and SPSS Statistics 17.0. Results. Distinctive features of the mental sphere (activity, motivation, self-regulation) of the university student population were expressed in the predominance of people with an average activity threshold and volitional self-control. Almost 75 of students are characterized by a desire to acquire knowledge. Indicators of constant brain potential that characterizes the function-al status of the body were within suboptimal values, which indicated tension in the regulatory mechan-isms of brain energy exchange. The optimal SCP values (from 7 to 15 mV) for frontal and parietal leads were recorded in 28.6 % of the students examined. Conclusion. Indicators of brain energy ex-change (SCP values) can serve as reliable precursors of students’ fatigue and the basis for preventive measures aimed at optimizing the body's adaptive capabilities.

Introduction: Musculoskeletal symptoms are affections, with or without tissue degeneration, that may present itself in many forms and be presented together with other multiple symptoms. Until the present moment its etiology is multifactorial and its pathological picture presents a great social relevance due to its coverage and magnitude. Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate and compare the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms in academics of full time (daytime) and part-time (nighttime) courses of UNICENTRO. Methods: 120 students of both courses participate in this study and in order to select the individuals there was utilize the method of proportional stratified sampling. Standardized Nordic questionnaires for the analysis of musculoskeletal symptoms and the Visual Analogic Scale (VAS) as a way of pain identification were used. Results: Through observation of the results obtained by the questionnaires it was noticed a high prevalence of the symptoms in the analyzed academics, being 49% from Biological Science course and 44.8% from Physiotherapy course, emphasizing the vertebral column, being lumbar (9.42%) in physiotherapy academics and thoracic region (9.14%) in Biological Science academics, it was also noticed a high involvement in multiple regions (53.9%). Besides that, it was observed trough VAS the presence of mild pain (3,78 ± 2,38). Conclusion: It has been concluded that the most involved region was vertebral column, specifically the lumbar and thoracic regions. In this way, assumed that a biomechanical overload is responsible for this finding. Thereby, preventive and ergonomic measures and health promotion must be stimulated between young students, however, for such a propose new studies are necessary.

To examine the impact of full-time equivalent employee (FTEE) allocation to academic detailers on naloxone prescribing at the U.S. Veterans Health Administration (VA).Longitudinal nonequivalent control group posttest-only design using a random effects model.Closed cohort of primary care providers exposed to academic detailing between September 1, 2016, and September 20, 2018, at VA.Previous analysis identified a cutoff of 0.40 FTEE was associated with a greater return on investment. We evaluated whether this level of FTEE allocation was associated with increases in naloxone prescribing rates and compared providers who had an interaction with an academic detailer allocated 0.4 FTEE or greater (high FTEE) to providers who interacted with an academic detailer allocated less than 0.4 FTEE (low FTEE).Among VA primary care providers who received academic detailing, 1770 (68%) had interactions with a high FTEE academic detailer. There were no differences in demographics between providers who interacted with high FTEE and low FTEE academic detailers except for the distribution of provider classes (P = 0.004) and geographic districts (P0.001). Providers who interacted with high FTEE academic detailers had a greater average monthly number of naloxone prescriptions prescribed compared with low FTEE academic detailers (0.60 vs. 0.53; P = 0.005). In the random effects model, there was a 65% greater increase in the average monthly number of naloxone prescriptions prescribed among providers who interacted with a high FTEE academic detailer compared with providers who interacted with low FTEE academic detailers (P = 0.027). We also observed a dose-dependent relationship between the number of naloxone prescribed and the amount of FTEE allocated.This observational study highlights the potential benefits (e.g., increased naloxone prescribing) of academic detailers having more FTEE allocated. Hence, implementation of academic detailing needs to consider the amount of dedicated time for academic detailers, given competing VA priorities.

The rise of the blended workforce, which is identified as one of the top current workplace trends, is prompting firms to reevaluate their staffing strategies. A blended workforce melds as a deliberate business strategy flexible workers (for example, independent contractors or freelancers) with full-time employees. Because flexible workers are free to determine their own work schedules, the supply (total number of workers) is uncertain. In “Managing Supply in the On-Demand Economy: Flexible Workers, Full-Time Employees, or Both?,” Dong and Ibrahim examine the optimal staffing strategy for flexible workers and full-time employees to effectively balance operating costs, time variability in customer demands, and supply-side uncertainty while not compromising on the quality of service offered to customers. This work gleans insights on the appropriateness of alternative workforce models, which are especially relevant for the gig economy.

This study aimed to determine the employability of Batangas State University-Lipa City graduates within two (2) years after graduation. In this tracer study the BatStateU-Lipa City graduates of School Year 2017 -2018 are the participants. To obtain the needed information, the researchers used online survey to be filled in by the graduates. The survey questionnaire served as the data gathering instrument. The subjects of the study were 454 graduates whose names were drawn randomly from the master list of 514 graduates of the four colleges offering different academic programs. Findings of the study revealed that almost all of the BatStateU-Lipa City graduates are currently employed and working in a full time basis. On the other hand, more than half are holding permanent position. However, most of them are not yet pursuing masters’ degree or post graduate studies. The developed alumni directory will help the University in tracking the alumni and to easily collect and update the personal and professional information of graduates. It is recommended that the graduates may pursue professional development and advancement by taking masters’ degree or advance study for them to upgrade their core competencies and land in a job that will provide vast opportunities to practice their profession. The expansion of tie-ups with public and private agencies and enterprises that can provide employment opportunities to the University graduates be a continuing process in all colleges to maintain the higher rate of employability. Further study may be conducted focusing on the relevance and responsiveness of the different programs.

Recent research indicates 20% of dentists to experience a high degree of stress, physical pain and distress, and insomnia, which is associated with loss of productivity, both in quantity and quality. Physical distress and pain, but also difficulties with colleagues, demanding patients or loss of productivity are clearly associated with the prevalence of stress. Stress complaints are often recognised too late. 2 fictitious cases from the daily practice of occupational health experts/ergonomists are discussed. The first case concerns a 45-year-old dentist who was referred to an occupational health expert regarding severe fatigue, listlessness and a sense of loss of control. After the occupational health expert had inventoried his full workload, it was shown not to have increased. With the help of relaxation therapy, a professional organiser and an organisational and business psychologist, the dentist was able to return to work full time after 9 months. In the second case, a 55-year-old endodontist presented with neck pain. The occupational health expert/ergonomist observed postural problems and stress. The client reported she suffered from fatigue. The endodontist did not acknowledge these stress issues and wanted to address improvement of posture in particular, which was effective. The occupational health expert was nevertheless able to introduce measures to reduce stress and fatigue; after some time, the endodontist enjoyed her return to work.Recent onderzoek geeft aan dat 20% van de tandartsen een hoge mate van stress en fysieke pijn en ongemak ervaart en slecht slaapt, wat wordt geassocieerd met een verlies aan productie, zowel kwalitatief als kwantitatief. Te zien is dat fysiek ongemak en pijn, maar ook moeite met collega’s, lastige patiënten of productieverlies samenhangen met het vóórkomen van stressklachten. Vaak worden klachten te laat herkend. Vanuit de dagelijkse praktijk van 2 arbeidsdeskundigen/ergonomen worden 2 fictieve casussen besproken. Het gaat om een 45-jarige tandarts die was doorverwezen naar een arbeidsdeskundige wegens ernstige vermoeidheid, lusteloosheid en het gevoel van controleverlies. Nadat de arbeidsdeskundige de totaalbelasting van zijn werk had vastgesteld bleek dat deze niet was toegenomen. Met behulp van ontspanningstherapie, een opruimcoach en een bedrijfs- en organisatiepsycholoog kon de tandarts na 9 maanden weer volledig zijn werk hervatten. In een tweede casus meldde een 55-jarige endodontoloog zich met nekklachten. De arbeidsdeskundige/ergonoom nam bij haar een verkeerde houding en spanning waar. De cliënt vertelde dat ze last had van vermoeidheid. De endodontoloog erkende deze stressklachten niet en wilde voornamelijk inzetten op verbetering van houding, hetgeen lukte. Desondanks wist de arbeidsdeskundige enkele zaken om spanning en vermoeidheid te verminderen; na enige tijd ging de endodontoloog weer met plezier naar het werk.

Neste trabalho tivemos como objetivo investigar o brincar nas filas de uma Escola de Tempo Integral da prefeitura Municipal de Campinas. Para tanto, realizamos uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo interpretativo, observando uma turma de 1º ano do ciclo I do Ensino Fundamental, durante um semestre. Utilizamos diário de campo e escrevemos narrativas sobre as observações no processo de produção dos dados. Chamamos atenção principalmente para as estratégias de controle dos corpos e expressões utilizadas pelas professoras, assim como, para o brincar transgressor e resistente, que rompia com a continuidade na dinâmica da cultura escolar, subvertendo ou pelo menos revelando que outra escola seria possível de existir, com outras normas, outras configurações, outras regras, outros sentidos e significações.

Child labour is the practice of having children engaged in economic activity, on part or full time basis to support or earn live hood. In India the estimated total number of child labourers, aged between 5-14 years is found to be at 43,53,247, out of which 2,86,310 are in Madhya Pradesh. The present study is an observational study on 200 randomly selected Child Labourers who were engaged in various economic activity, conducted in Bhopal city from 1st Nov. 2014 to 31st Jan 2015 to determine the factors responsible for child labour in Bhopal city, the education status of children engaged in economic activity, the family status of children engaged in economic activity, and the socio-demographic profile of children engaged in economic activity. Out of total 200 children, 134 were Hindus (111 males and 23 females) and 66 were Muslims (62 males and 4 females). Most preponderance of child labourers is in the age group 10 to 14 years. Maximum child labourers earn between 50 – 150 rupees per day. Among 200 child labourers, 63 were homeless, spending their night hours on foot path, bus stand, and 137 were residing in slums or small houses. Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a common public health problem that has serious consequences for women in terms of health and functioning. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the major health issues that women face after experiencing intimate partner violence. There is evidence that sufficient and sustainable employment might decrease risk for PTSD in women who have experienced violence. The purpose of this study is to investigate if variables related to employment (i.e., income, hours worked per week, job benefits) affect risk for PTSD over 5 years after women left abusive relationships. Data collection took place between 2010 and 2016. To test the hypothesis that present employment variables predict the woman’s PTSD in the future, a series of conditional latent growth curve (LGC) models were conducted. The overall models indicated that there appears to be a consistent impact of economic factors on PTSD symptoms; however, the variable with the greatest impact was the number of hours worked. Women who had full-time or near full-time employment were at less risk to have PTSD in the future. These findings support efforts to increase access to full time work for women who have experienced intimate violence.

The modern information environment provides unprecedented opportunities for combining high-tech and high-touch learning approaches. It can be expected that in the near future, the general trend will be the use of audio-visual recordings of synchronized classes, which should be used for subsequent consolidation, repetition, control, generalization and systematization of knowledge. The article summarizes the results of 10 years of experience in creating and using audio-visual recordings of full-time and distance learning in university and school classrooms.

Practice of yoga can improve mental exertion, improve the different complications. Regular yogic practices and adapting and implementing the principals and philosophy of yoga in day to day life may decrease the anxiety level and improve the overall health of the patients.

Mental health problems among children present an important public health issue worldwide. Early detection, assessment, and support in schools might have a significant impact on mental health outcomes and child health and wellbeing. The purpose of this article is to show the mental health support system and its historical transition in Japan. In general, Japanese schools have a Yogo teacher (a school nurse) who works full time, as well as three types of mental health specialists who work part time: school counselors, advisors, and social workers. The regularity of visits from the three types of specialists depends on schools and regions. In general, school counselors visit schools more often than do other specialists, for approximately 4 h per week. The other specialists either visit the schools rarely or not at all because they are sometimes not hired. The strengths of the Japanese system included much provision of psychological consultations and a small budget compared to Western countries. Almost all school counselors are clinical psychologists with master's degrees who are skillful at handling students' mental problems. Moreover, they are capable of providing intensive psychological counseling in school settings in Japan. The weakness is that there is no specialist available who supports students' academic or school life. General teachers take on the role of the Western countries' "school counselors." There are also few specialists who can be approached for social support compared to Western countries.
