A novel hybrid photocatalyst composed of hollow carbon nanospheres (NCS) and graphitic carbon nitride (CN) curly nanosheets has been prepared by the calcination of a NCS precursor and freeze‐dried urea. The optimized photocatalyst exhibits an efficient photocatalytic performance under visible light irradiation with a highest H2 generation rate of 3612.3 μmol g−1 h−1, leading to an apparent quantum yield of 10.04 % at 420 nm, five times higher than the widely reported benchmark photocatalyst CN (2.01 % AQY). The materials characterization shows that NCS‐modified CN curly nanosheets can promote photoelectron transfer and suppress charge recombination through their special coupling interface and NCS as an electron acceptor, which significantly improves the photocatalytic efficiency. Background and Aim: Rectal indomethacin and pancreatic duct stenting (PDS) are recommended for the prevention of post‐endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis (PEP). However, the effects of the combination of the two methods on preventing PEP are controversial. We hypothesized that some group of difficult patients might benefit from the combination of indomethacin plus PDS (IP) compared with indomethacin alone (IN). Methods: Patients with native papilla who underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in eight tertiary hospitals were screened. They were enrolled if the cannulation proved difficult and post‐procedure indomethacin was administered. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to balance the baseline characteristics between IP and IN groups. The primary outcome was PEP. Results: Among 4456 patients with available cannulation‐related data, 1889 (42.4%) patients had difficult cannulation and received indomethacin. After PSM, both IP and IN groups included 332 patients. PEP was comparable between the two groups (12.7% vs 10.2%, P = 0.329). By subgroup analysis, the PEP rate was found to be lower in the IP group than in the IN group (7.3% vs 18.2%, P = 0.026) in patients undergoing double‐guidewire technique (DGT). The results of an additional analysis using PSM in DGT patients were consistent with the subgroup analysis results (7.8% vs 19.4%, P = 0.036). Conclusions: The current study indicated that the combined prevention of PEP with indomethacin plus PDS was useful in PEP prevention in patients undergoing DGT. Wind velocity (strength and direction) is an important parameter for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based environmental monitoring tasks. A novel wind velocity estimation method is proposed for rotorcrafts. Based on an extended state observer, this method derives the wind disturbance from rotors' speeds and rotorcraft's acceleration and position. Then the wind disturbance is scaled to calculate the airspeed vector, which is substituted into a wind triangle to obtain the wind velocity. Easy-to-implement methods for calculating the rotorcraft's thrust and drag coefficient are also proposed, which are important parameters to obtain the wind drag and the airspeed, respectively. Background: Congenital antithrombin deficiency is an autosomal dominant disease that results in deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, which is mainly caused by mutations in the antithrombin gene (SERPINC1). Since SERPINC1 is highly susceptible to alterations, severe structural and functional changes that promote thrombosis may occur. Clinical presentations vary from different alterations. We report a pregnant case with novel mutation in SERPINC1 presenting transient antithrombin deficiency and multiple venous thromboembolisms. Case presentation: We report a case of a 36-year-old pregnant patient who was diagnosed with congenital antithrombin deficiency for carrying a novel heterozygous mutation, NM_000488:exon5:c.T9 38 C:p. M313T in SERPINC1 presenting transient antithrombin deficiency and multiple venous thromboembolisms. Thrombolytic with alteplase and anticoagulant therapies with low-molecular-weight heparin and warfarin were administrated. After confirming the genetic analysis and the termination of pregnancy, rivaroxaban was administrated, and the thrombosis reduced. Conclusions: Our study enriched the mutation database of SERPINC1 gene, provided some new theoretical basis for gene diagnosis and genetic counseling of patients with transient antithrombin deficiency. In this paper, we propose a particle-filter-based superpixel (PFS) segmentation method that extends the original tracking problem as a region clustering problem. The basic idea is to approximate superpixel centers by multiple particles to obtain high intra-region similarity. Specifically, we firstly use a density cluster to initialize single-group particles and introduce the association rule for mining other initial candidate particles. In propagation, particles are transferred to neighboring local regions by a moving step aiming to update local candidate particles with a lower energy cost. We evaluate all particles on the basis of their cluster similarity and estimate the largest particles as the final superpixel centers. The proposed method can locate cluster centers in diverse feature space, which alleviates the risk of a local optimum and produces better segmentation performance. Forkhead box O4 (FOXO4) is a member of the FOXO family that regulates a number of genes involved in metabolism, cell cycle, apoptosis, and cellular homeostasis via transcriptional activity. It also mediates cell responses to oxidative stress and treatment with antitumor agents. The expression of FOXO4 is repressed by microRNAs in multiple cancer cells, while FOXO4 function is regulated by post-translational modifications and interaction with other proteins. The deregulation of FOXO4 is closely linked to the progression of several types of cancer, senescence, and other diseases. In this review, we present recent findings on the regulation of FOXO4 in physiological and pathological conditions and provide an overview of the complex role of FOXO4 in disease development and response to therapy. Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease characterized by the presence and growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, including the pelvis and abdominal cavity. This condition causes various clinical symptoms, such as non-menstrual pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea and infertility, seriously affecting the health and quality of life of women. To date, the specific mechanism and the key molecules of endometriosis remain uncertain. The purpose of the present study was to elucidate the mechanisms involved in the development and persistence of the disease. A number of mRNA expression profile datasets (namely GSE11691, GSE23339, GSE25628 and GSE78851) were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. These gene expression profiles were normalized, and the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified by integrated bioinformatics analysis. A total of 103 DEGs were screened upon excluding the genes that exhibited inconsistency of expression (P<0.05). Furthermore, the Gene Ontology analysis, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis, and construction of protein-protein interaction networks of DEGs were performed using online software. The results revealed that the DEGs were closely associated with cell migration, adherens junction and hypoxia-inducible factor signaling. In addition, immunohistochemical assay results were found to be consistent with the bioinformatics results. The present study may help us understand underlying molecular mechanisms and the development of endometriosis, which has a great clinical significance for early diagnosis of the disease. To examine trends in the prevalence of wasting, stunting, overweight, and obesity among children in Luoding, a lower-middle-income city in southern China, we collected height, weight and other information on 65,908 pre-school children aged 2 to 7 years from 23 kindergartens, in which health examinations were conducted annually between 2004 and 2013. We used the growth standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) to calculate Z-scores for height and body mass index (BMI), and used the cut-offs recommended by WHO to define wasting, stunting, overweight, and obesity for each child. From 2004 to 2013, the prevalence of overweight increased from 3.70% to 7.27% and of obesity increased from 1.04% to 2.08%. Meanwhile, the prevalence of wasting decreased from 0.91% to 0.72% and of stunting decreased from 9.29% to 5.22%. These trends suggest there was still a double burden of nutritional status there. The analysis of microscopic residues on stone tools provides one of the most direct ways to reconstruct the functions of such artifacts. However, new methods are needed to strengthen residue identifications based upon visible-light microscopy. In this work, we establish that reflectance Fourier-transform infrared microspectroscopy (FTIRM) can be used to document IR spectra of animal-tissue residues on experimental stone tools. First, we present a set of reflectance FTIRM standards for the most commonly identified animal-tissue residues on stone tools: skin, meat, fat, hair, blood, feather barbules, fish scales, and bone. We provide spectral peak assignments for each residue and demonstrate that high-quality reflectance FTIRM spectra can be generated under ideal circumstances. Second, we document the spectra for these residues when they are located on a stone substrate such as flint or obsidian. We discuss procedures for correcting spectra that are affected by specular reflection and explain the effects of spectral interference from the stone. Our results show that reflectance FTIRM is sensitive to small intra-sample differences in composition. This means that it will record the effects of decomposition in ancient residues. The methodological developments we present here will help lithic residue analysts incorporate in situ reflectance FTIRM into their analysis protocols to strengthen identifications. It is important to design and fabricate nanoporous metals (NPMs) with optimized microstructures for specific applications. In this contribution, nanoporous coppers (NPCs) with controllable thicknesses and pore sizes were fabricated via the combination of a co-sputtering of Cu/Ti with a subsequent dealloying process. The effect of dealloying time on porous morphology and the corresponding surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) behaviors were systematically investigated. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) identified the presences of the gaps formed between ligaments and also the nanobumps on the nanoparticle-aggregated ligament surface, which were likely to contribute as the “hot spots” for electromagnetic enhancement. The optimal NPC film exhibited excellent SERS performance towards Rhodamine 6G (R6G) with a low limiting detection (10 −9 M), along with good uniformity and reproducibility. The calculated enhancement factor of ca. 4.71 × 10 7 was over Au substrates and comparable to Ag systems, promising the proposed NPC as a cheap candidate for high-performance SERS substrate. In this work, electrocatalysts like the metal phosphides Ni 2 P, NiCoP, and FeP, can serve as cocatalysts of TiO 2 to form efficient composite photocatalysts for hydrogen generation from an aqueous methanol solution. On comparing Ni 2 P, NiCoP, and FeP and optimizing their proportions, the NiCoP(1 wt%)/TiO 2 composite was found to exhibit the highest activity toward photocatalytic H 2 production (1.54 μmol h −1 mg −1 ), which is about thirteen times that of the naked TiO 2 nanoparticles. Mott-Schottky (MS) analysis indicated that the large upward shift or band bending of the Fermi energy level ( E F ) in metal phosphides was responsible for the enhanced activity of the composites. The steady-state photoluminescence (PL) spectra and photocurrent transient response further confirmed that the enhanced photoinduced charge transfer and band separation after TiO 2 was integrated with the metal phosphides. The generation of object proposals plays an important role in object detection. Most existing methods produce object proposals by using bottom-up cues, such as closed contour or superpixel. In this paper, we propose a novel method to improve the ranking of object proposals by combining bottom-up cues with top-down information of objectivity. Firstly, we utilize the bottom-up method to generate initial object proposals of the given test image. Then we retrieve its top-k similar images from training images set. Considering both appearance and spatial similarity between initial object proposals and the ground truth bounding boxes of these top-k similar images, we obtain the top-down guided scores of initial object proposals. Finally, the refined score of each initial object proposal is modeled as a fusion of the bottom-up score and the top-down score. Crystal-facet dependent CeO 2 results in different charge transferring pathways and activities. [Display omitted] Heterojunctions have been verified to be effective for separation of photogenerated electrons and holes, therefore improving the photocatalytic efficiency. Meanwhile, cerium oxide (CeO 2) is an ideal semiconductor for studying the influence of different exposed crystal facets on regulation of electron transport pathways over heterojunctions. Herein, various kinds of crystal facet-dependent CeO 2 /g-C 3 N 4 (graphitic carbon nitride) heterojunctions have been successfully engineered as representative model catalysts, and their critical role in regulating charge transfer pathways has been confirmed by systemic characterizations. It was found that facet-dependent heterojunctions followed different charge transport pathways, leading to different H 2 evolution activities. In detail, heterojunctions with (1 0 0) and (1 1 0) exposed surfaces followed the Z-scheme transport pathways, while heterojunction with (1 1 1) exposed surface followed the type-II pathway. The H 2 evolution rates via these three kinds of heterojunctions were determined to be 3.084, 1.925, and 1.128 mmol·g−1·h−1, respectively, which were 13.3, 7.9, 4.2 times that of bare g-C 3 N 4. It's revealed that the different exposed crystal facets of CeO 2 with different Fermi levels determine the transport pathways of photogenerated carriers. This work shows an example of controlling photocatalytic activity by facet-dependent heterojunctions and reveals the importance role of crystal-facet engineering toward heterojunction construction, which is expected to provide an important guidance for the design of new photocatalytic systems. BACKGROUND: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) is a common malignant tumor associated with EBV infection. Insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) is an imprinted gene and a key protein that regulates growth, especially during normal fetal development. Loss of imprinting (LOI), is a common epigenetic anomaly in a variety of human cancers. However, the promoter methylation, imprinting status and function of IGF2 gene in GC are unclear. OBJECTIVE: To explore the role of IGF2 in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer. METHODS: The biological function of IGF2 in gastric cancer was investigated by Transwell, wound healing, CCK-8 and flow cytometry assays. IGF2 imprinting status and gene promoter methylation in gastric cancer tissues were detected by PCR-RFLP and BGS. RESULTS: The results showed that the expression of IGF2 was higher in GC tissues than adjacent tissues. IGF2 gene promoter methylation and LOI were significantly higher in EBVaGC tissues than in EBV-negative gastric cancer (EBVnGC) tissues. The high expression of IGF2 in gastric cancer can promote the migration and proliferation of gastric cancer cells. CONCLUSION: Our data suggest that IGF2 is involved in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer. Targeting IGF2 may be a potential therapeutic target for gastric cancer. Developing appropriate photocatalyst with high efficiency is still the basic strategy for practical application of emerging technology. Herein, non-noble metal copper (Cu) nanoparticles were in situ hybrided with TiO 2 by a chemical reduction method. The crystal phase and structure were characterized by XRD, SEM, and TEM measurements. Hydrogen production results showed that Cu nanoparticles significantly improved the photocatalytic hydrogen production rate. The hydrogen production rate was as high as 24160.69 μmol g−1 h−1 at 100 °C, which was 36.25 and 8.46 times higher than the hydrogen production rates of pure TiO 2 and 0.13 wt% Cu/TiO 2 at room temperature, respectively. PL spectra, UV–vis spectra, IR images and photoelectrochemical measurements showed that the plasma-induced photothermal effect of Cu/TiO 2 nanoparticles, which raised the temperature of the reaction system and promoted photothermal catalytic performance. Briefly, this work provides a facile fabrication method of noble-metal-free photocatalysts featuring in low-cost and high efficiency. Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN), the most common primary renal disease, is characterized by abnormal IgA1 deposition. IgAN is caused by NOD-like receptor pyrin domain-containing-3 (NLRP3), which regulates innate immunity. Gubentongluo (GB) decoction, a traditional Chinese medicine, is an effective clinical treatment for IgAN in China. However, little is known about the underlying mechanisms. In this study, IgA1, which is separated from patients with IgAN, together with GB decoction was applied to treat human mesangial cells (HMCs). CCK-8 and the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to assess cell proliferation and the production of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), respectively. qPCR and Western blot were applied to detect the expression levels of NLRP3, IL-1β, and caspase-1. Our results showed that GB decoction inhibited IgA1-induced cell proliferation and IL-1β production. Furthermore, IgA1-induced upregulation of IL-1β, NLRP3, and caspase-1 was reduced after treatment with GB. Interestingly, MCC950, an NLRP3 inhibitor, showed similar effect as GB decoction. Additionally, NLRP3 overexpression stimulated cell proliferation, IL-1β secretion, and the expressions of IL-1β and caspase-1 in HMCs. But these effects could be alleviated by GB decoction. In this work, the effects of NbC additions on microstructure and properties of non-uniform structure WC-7Co cemented carbides were investigated X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), mechanical properties tester and electrochemical workstation, respectively. The results show that WC phase can be partially dissolved into the NbC to form a (Nb,W)C solid solution. According to EPMA analysis, the amount of W atoms, dissolving into the NbC grains, increases with the NbC addition. Moreover, when the content of NbC is beyond 1%, the WC-Co cemented carbides with non-uniform structure are formed with significant reduction of average grain size of WC. With NbC addition increasing from 0 wt% to 2 wt%, the hardness is increased from 1475 MPa to 1570 MPa while the fracture toughness decreased from 12.1 MPa m 1/2 to 10.3 MPa m 1/2 . However, with the further addition of NbC, the hardness slightly decreased. With NbC addition between 0 and 1 wt%, the TRS is gradually decreased from 2982 MPa to 2745 MPa, while, as the NbC content exceeds 1 wt%, the TRS leveled off. Because of the decrease of grain size and the (Nb,W)C phase formation, caused by NbC addition, the crack defection was weakened, which led to the decrease of fracture toughness. Meanwhile, the corrosion resistance of non-uniform structure WC-Co cemented carbides can be significantly improved by adding NbC to the material due to increased α-Co in binder phase. The analysis of residues on stone tools can yield important insights into the tool-using behaviors of Paleolithic hominins. The ambiguity of residue identifications using visible-light microscopy (VLM) has led to the development of additional techniques for their characterization. Reflectance-based Fourier-transform infrared microspectroscopy (FTIRM) is a technique with great potential to aid in non-destructive residue identifications. Recent applications of the technique, however, have been hampered by methodological challenges, causing the infrared signals to be dominated by the stone rather than the residues. We address this problem by systematically testing the limits of FTIRM on five categories of experimental plant residues (wood bark, wood pith, grass leaves, starch, and resin). We demonstrate that it is possible to obtain FTIRM spectra of in situ plant residues wherein the effect of the stone is virtually eliminated. We also generate reflectance FTIRM spectral standards for each plant residue investigated and provide peak assignments for the major peaks in all spectra. The sensitivity of the technique means that slight differences in sample preparation can result in spectral differences as well. This means that archaeological application of the technique will require (1) careful, peak-by-peak analyses of the results, (2) extensive spectral libraries, and (3) research into the effects of decomposition. Deep marine carbonate oil and gas resources in the Sichuan Basin are currently key exploration areas. As an important tectonic thermal event, the Emeishan mantle plume has an important influence on the source rocks under the Middle-Lower Permian in the Sichuan Basin. Therefore, the better understanding of the effect of Emeishan basalt eruption on source rock is vital for the exploration of marine oil and gas resources. On the basis of the thermal history study of the Sichuan Basin, this study restored the thermal maturity of the algal dolomite of the Sinian (Ediacaran) Dengying Formation in the Sichuan Basin in normal evolution. Using the hydrocarbon generation potential variation method, the hydrocarbon generation and expulsion characteristics of normally evolved algal dolomite and algal dolomite affected by basalt eruption were calculated. Through comparison, the influence of the Emeishan mantle plume on the algal dolomite of the Sinian Dengying Formation is analyzed. The research indicates that the thermal effect of the Emeishan mantle plume promotes the maturation of algal dolomite, which leads to the shortening of the oil generation period and the early arrival of the gas generation peak. The main hydrocarbon expulsion period of the normally evolved algal dolomite should be from the end of the Triassic to the end of the Jurassic, while the main hydrocarbon expulsion period of the algal dolomite affected by basalt eruption was advanced to the end of Silurian to the end of Triassic. Maturity evaluation of highly evolved organic matter is an important problem in oil and gas geochemistry, because conventional organic geochemical proxies are not applicable due to hydrocarbon generation and expulsion. In this study, we investigated the pyrobitumen in the reservoirs of the Sinian Dengying Formation in the Sichuan Basin, China. We focused on aromatic hydrocarbon biomarkers, and the calibration and application of aromatic maturity proxies using pyrobitumen reflectance and Raman spectral parameters. Our results show that only the thiophene compounds are effective maturity indicators, such as MDR (4-/1-MDBT), MDR′ (4-MDBT/(1-MDBT+4-MDBT)), MDR1 (1-MDBT/DBT), 4,6-/(1,4+1,6)-DMDBT, (2,6 +3,6)-/(1,4+1,6)-DMDBT, and [2,1]BNT/([2,1]BNT+[1,2]BNT), as these are largely independent of the optical anisotropy of pyrobitumen The condensation and incorporation of thiophene compounds can lead to an increase in the reflectance of pyrobitumen, which means the thiophene compound parameters are positively or negatively correlated with pyrobitumen reflectance New potential maturity parameters were proposed, including DMDBTs/MDBTs, TeMDBTs/(DBT+MDBTs +DMDBTs+TMDBTs+TeMDBTs), 1-MDBT/MDBTs, and [2,1]BNT/BNTs. This method and these parameters are universally applicable to maturity characterization, especially in rocks that lack vitrinite, contain strongly anisotropic organic matter, and have high contents of thiophene compounds. The copper-catalyzed reaction of 5-substituted penta-1,4-diyn-3-yl acetates with P(O)H compounds to efficiently give a new class of phosphonyl diynes is reported. The reaction may take place through a regioselective nucleophilic attack of phosphorus nucleophiles on Cu-allenylidene intermediates to form allenyl intermediates followed by a rapid allene-alkyne isomerization process. Person re-identification is an important topic in video surveillance. We present a new feature representation for person re-identification based on multi-region-set ensembles (MRSE) by combining some semantic regions with their contextual information. The motivation of this paper is that people can recognize and identify whether it’s the same person by one or several local regions of the appearance. Our approach is divided into three steps: firstly, we segment the person into some semantic regions such as “hair”, “face”, “up-cloth” (upper clothes) and “lo-cloth” (lower clothes). After getting these regions, we form multiple sets of different combination by selecting a few regions and concatenating the features of them. We then combine the distance of all multiple sets for computing the similarity of a query-gallery image pair. A heterostructure composed of a Bi2Fe4O9 film and an n-type Si substrate is fabricated. The characteristics of leakage current density versus electric field are investigated and the leakage current density is about 6x10[?]6 A/cm2 at an electric field of 200 kV/cm at 300 K. A strong photovoltaic effect is observed when the heterostructure is exposed to a laser pulse with a wavelength of 532 nm and a power of 6 mW/mm2. It is found that the peak photovoltages initially increase with decreasing temperature, followed by a decrease at T < 210 K. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) belongs to the subfamily Gammaherpesvirinae and was the first human tumor virus to be discovered. The global rate of EBV infection in adults exceeds 90%. EBV can participate in the regulation of multiple genes and signal pathways through its latency genes. Many studies have shown that CXCR4 is involved in the development of gastric cancer, but there have been few studies on the specific mechanisms involved in EBV-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC). In this study, we explored the mechanism by which EBV-encoded products maintain latent EBV infection through interaction with CXCR4 and investigated the role of CXCR4 in EBV-positive cells. The results show that there is a positive feedback between the EBV-encoded products and CXCR4, and LMP2A can activate CXCR4 through the NF-κB pathway. In addition, CXCR4 can be fed back to LMP2A and EBNA1 through the ERK signaling pathway. At the same time, CXCR4 can promote the proliferation and migration of EBV-positive cells, reduce the expression of the immediate early protein BZLF1, the late protein EBV gp350, and the viral capsid antigen, and play an important role in maintaining the incubation period of EBV infection. The Middle-Upper Cambrian Xixiangchi Formation in the Sichuan Basin is regarded as an important reservoir with great potential for hydrocarbon exploration. It is previously indicated that the Xixiangchi carbonates have experienced extensive dolomitization, however, the origin of dolomitizing fluids and the dolomitization mechanism still remain uncertain. In this study, a set of petrographic and geochemical examinations, including rare earth elements (REE) and isotopic (C, O, and Sr) compositions were used to trace the origins of dolomitizing fluids and associated diagenetic processes. The petrographic examination revealed three types of matrix dolomites (D1, D2, D3) and one cement saddle dolomite (SD). These phases have crystal size ranges of less than 30 μm (very fine to fine crystals, D1), 30–100 μm (fine to medium crystals, D2), 100–300 μm (medium to coarsely crystalline dolomite, D3), and 0.3–4 mm (fracture filling cements, SD), respectively. D1 is characterized by non to very weak luminescence, weakly negative Ce anomalies (Ce/Ce* = 0.84 ± 0.02), strongly negative Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.65 ± 0.03), and high 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.71062 ± 0.00122). In combination with δ13C (−1.5‰ ± 0.2‰) and δ18O (−9.7‰ ± 0.5‰) compositions, D1 is interpreted to be formed by penecontemporaneous dolomitization in the near-surface environment with seawater as the dolomitizing fluid. In contrast, D2 is characterized by intercrystalline pores, dirty crystal surfaces, similar δ13C (−1.4‰ ± 0.4‰) compositions but higher δ18O (−8.9‰ ± 0.7‰) compositions, and lower 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.70992 ± 0.00035), similar Ce anomalies (Ce/Ce* = 0.87 ± 0.04) and higher Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.85 ± 0.04). The coarser D2 is regarded to be formed by the post-penecontemporaneous seepage-reflux dolomitization or by recrystallization of D1 dolomite in a near-surface or shallow burial environment. D3 is distinguished by a cloudy core with clear rims, showing slightly higher Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.88 ± 0.02) and similar Ce anomalies (Ce/Ce* = 0.88 ± 0.02) than those of D1 and D2. Combined with the δ18O compositions (−10.4‰ ± 0.4‰) and 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.70989 ± 0.00048), D3 is thought to be formed by the overgrowth or recrystallization of D1 and D2 dolomites in a shallow to moderate burial environment. The fractures filling SD dolomite consists of nonplanar and much coarser crystals with undulatory extinctions and brighter red luminescence. The lower δ18O (−11.1‰ ± 0.3‰) compositions, lower negative Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.70 ± 0.01) of SD than the matrix dolomites, and similar Ce anomalies (Ce/Ce* = 0.83 ± 0.01) are indicative of hydrothermal dolomitization, with possible fluids associated with the magma during the period of Emei taphrogenic movement. In addition, the 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.70941 ± 0.00003) of SD suggest probable origin from the coeval seawater partially. Therefore, SD dolomite is interpreted to be formed by hydrothermal dolomitization with mixed dolomitizing fluid of seawater and hydrothermal fluids. In summary, all the matrix dolomites have almost the same ΣREE concentrations and exhibit similar near-flat REE partition patterns with weak LREE enrichments, weakly negative Ce anomalies, and negative Eu anomalies. Such characteristics of REE compositions are indicative of similar evolved dolomitizing fluid, such as seawater or seawater- derived fluids. By contrast, SD dolomites have a different REE partition pattern with left-leaning characteristics, LREE depletions, and negative Eu anomalies, thus suggesting a different dolomitizing fluid source from the matrix dolomites. In addition, the development of intercrystalline pores associated with D2 dolomite makes it more likely to be a potential reservoir, indicating that the dolomitizing history of carbonate has a strong influence on the quality of potential dolomite reservoirs. Comparing the branching features of negative leaders with different propagation directions could provide insight into the common tendency of development pathways and the formation pattern of branches in natural lightning. This paper reports an upward negative leader (UNL) and a downward negative leader (DNL), and their branching features are analyzed and compared. The UNL is classified into vertical (UNL-V) and horizontal (UNL-H) segments based on propagation directions at different stages. The downward negative leader (DNL) is classified into main (DNL-M) and secondary (DNL-S) channels based on whether the channel is ultimately connected to the upward connecting leader. The vital angle parameters characterizing the branching morphology are investigated. For the strong branch eventually forming a section of the main channel, its deflection angle conforms to the lognormal distribution with a mean range of 22–36°. The included angle between the branches and the deflection angle of weak branches conform to the normal distribution with means close to 40° and 60°, respectively. Moreover, the velocity for four categories of negative leaders decreases noticeably by two or more branching behaviors in a frame interval of about 80 μs. In particular, similarities in branching morphology have been found in UNL-H, UNL-V, and DNL-S, with a semblable distribution in deflection and included angles. Statistical results indicate that branches of DNL-M tend to follow the previous direction of leader development, and the branching behavior has minimal impact on its velocity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The origin of Precambrian dolomites has attracted research interest as a result of their association with petroleum resources. The long diagenetic history of these dolomites and multiple periods of hydrothermal activity mean that dating and identifying different periods of dolomite formation is challenging. This study focuses on dolomites in the Precambrian Dengying Formation of the Sichuan Basin, central China, and presents new petrographic, in situ laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry U–Pb and trace element, and Sr–C–O isotopic data to characterize three types of dolomite and constrain their age and origin. In situ U–Pb dating of type I dolomite yielded a lower intercept age of 637 ± 35 Ma. The rare earth element (REE) patterns, 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.70827–0.70903), and δ13C VPDB (0.8‰–1.0‰) and δ18O VPDB (−1.5‰ to −1.0‰) values of type I dolomite indicate their derivation from seawater or a precursory source with seawater characteristics. Type II dolomite yielded an age of 636 ± 15 Ma and has lower ΣREE and slightly higher δ13C VPDB (1.2‰–1.5‰) and δ18O VPDB (−0.9‰ to −0.3‰) values than type I, as well as similar 87Sr/86Sr ratios and parallel REE patterns that are indicative of formation by reflux seepage dolomitization. The type III dolomite is characterized by large crystals, unique REE patterns, high 87Sr/86Sr values (0.70942–0.70975), and negative δ18O VPDB values (−6.4‰ to −3.1‰) that indicate a hydrothermal origin. The relationships between hydrothermal dolomite and bitumen indicate that the paleo-oil charging within the Dengying Formation reservoir occurred after the hydrothermal activity at 516 ± 49 Ma. The early hydrothermal activity provided space for the subsequent fluid movement, and oil and gas charging. The relationship between stress fluctuations and velocity characteristics is established. • EBV can upregulate the PI3K/AKT pathway through its encoded EBER1 and LMP2A, thereby promoting the expression of YAP1 in EBVaGC cells. • YAP1 enhances the proliferation, migration, autophagy, S-phase accumulation, and anti-apoptotic ability of EBVaGC cells, which may play carcinogenic role in EBVaGC progression. • YAP1 also enhances EBV replication, and TPA and NaB induced EBV lytic reactivation, forming a bidirectional regulatory mechanism with EBV, further promoting the development of EBVaGC. This study aims to explore the role and regulatory mechanism of Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) in the development of Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC). Here we showed that EBV can upregulate the expression and activity of YAP1 protein through its encoded latent products EBV-encoded small RNA 1 (EBER1) and latent membrane protein 2A (LMP2A), enhancing the malignant characteristics of EBVaGC cells. In addition, we also showed that overexpression of YAP1 induced the expression of EBV encoding latent and lytic phase genes and proteins in the epithelial cell line AGS-EBV infected with EBV, and increased the copy number of the EBV genome, while loss of YAP1 expression reduced the aforementioned indicators. Moreover, we found that YAP1 enhanced EBV lytic reactivation induced by two known activators, 12-O-tetradecanoylhorbol-13-acetate (TPA) and sodium butyrate (NaB). These results indicated a bidirectional regulatory mechanism between EBV and YAP1 proteins, providing new experimental evidence for further understanding the regulation of EBV infection patterns and carcinogenic mechanisms in gastric cancer. Converting solar energy to fuels has attracted substantial interest over the past decades because it has the potential to sustainably meet the increasing global energy demand. However, achieving this potential requires significant technological advances. Polymer photoelectrodes are composed of earth-abundant elements, e.g. carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, which promise to be more economically sustainable than their inorganic counterparts. Furthermore, the electronic structure of polymer photoelectrodes can be more easily tuned to fit the solar spectrum than inorganic counterparts, promising a feasible practical application. As a fast-moving area, in particular, over the past ten years, we have witnessed an explosion of reports on polymer materials, including photoelectrodes, cocatalysts, device architectures, and fundamental understanding experimentally and theoretically, all of which have been detailed in this review. Hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) micro‐platelets were surface‐functionalized by sulfuric acid (SA). Such modified h‐BN powders were mixed with thermoplastic polyether imide (PEI) to prepare flexible composite films using a solution casting method. After surface modification, the h‐BN powders were uniformly dispersed in the PEI matrix. The thermal conductivity of the flexible composite materials was significantly improved, with a 60% increase over that of pure PEI. The mechanical properties of the composites were also measured and discussed. The Young's modulus of the h‐BN/PEI composites was increased from 1.15 GPa for pure PEI to 1.62 GPa for the h‐BN/PEI composite with a filling ratio 10 vol%. As compared to pure PEI film, the electrical breakdown strength of the composites with 5 vol% h‐BN increased from 45.3 to 55.3 kV/mm. Ultrasonic field can lead to cavitation bubbles explosion, which rises a high-frequency oscillation and generates a high-frequency current in semiconductor nanoparticles in suspension. However, the effect of nanoparticle morphology on ultrasonic-triggered H 2 production is still unclear. To this end, herein, nanorods CeO 2 (nrCeO 2), CeO 2 nanocubes (ncCeO 2), and CeO 2 nanospheres (nsCeO 2) were successfully synthesized. Among them, one-dimensional nrCeO 2 had the most abundant O-vacancies. As revealed by the COMSOL simulation, nanoparticle deformation was easier in nanorods compared with nanocubes and nanospheres, resulting in more efficient charge separation and facilitating H 2 production reaction in nrCeO 2. In detail, within a 5 h' period, nrCeO 2 presented the highest H 2 production activity of 983.1 μmol g−1 h−1 with the positive charge (q+) trapping agent of CH 3 OH, and that of 278.1 μmol g−1 h−1 in pure water. This work presents a new understanding about the relationship between nanoparticle morphology and H 2 production activity, and provides a promising, efficient, and clean H 2 production approach, which can be further extended to multi-field coupling reactor. Investigations of organic lithic micro-residues have, over the last decade, shifted from entirely morphological observations using visible-light microscopy to compositional ones using scanning electron microscopy and Fourier-transform infrared microspectroscopy, providing a seemingly objective chemical basis for residue identifications. Contamination, though, remains a problem that can affect these results. Modern contaminants, accumulated during the post-excavation lives of artifacts, are pervasive, subtle, and even "invisible" (unlisted ingredients in common lab products). Ancient contamination is a second issue. The aim of residue analysis is to recognize residues related to use, but other types of residues can also accumulate on artifacts. Caves are subject to various taphonomic forces and organic inputs, and use-related residues can degrade into secondary compounds. This organic "background noise" must be taken into consideration. Here we show that residue contamination is more pervasive than is often appreciated, as revealed by our studies of Middle Palaeolithic artifacts from two sites: Lusakert Cave 1 in Armenia and Crvena Stijena in Montenegro. First, we explain how artifacts from Lusakert Cave 1, despite being handled following specialized protocols, were tainted by a modern-day contaminant from an unanticipated source: a release agent used inside the zip-top bags that are ubiquitous in the field and lab. Second, we document that, when non-artifact "controls" are studied alongside artifacts from Crvena Stijena, comparisons reveal that organic residues are adhered to both, indicating that they are prevalent throughout the sediments and not necessarily related to use. We provide suggestions for reducing contamination and increasing the reliability of residue studies. Ultimately, we propose that archaeologists working in the field of residue studies must start with the null hypothesis that miniscule organic residues reflect contamination, either ancient or modern, and systematically proceed to rule out all possible contaminants before interpreting them as evidence of an artifact's use in the distant past. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: EBV-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) is a distinct subtype of GC, and EBV plays an important role in tumor progress. The standard method to identify EBV-positive tumor is determined by in situ hybridization for EBV-encoded EBERs in tumor tissues. The present study aims to detect the serological expression of EBV-related antibodies and ET-1 axis to provide a noninvasive method for diagnosis of EBVaGC. METHODS: The content of EBV-related antibodies and ET-1 axis in preoperative peripheral blood of GC was performed by Chemiluminescence and ELISA assay. The EBV DNA copy number was measured by qRT-PCR. RESULTS: The results showed that the levels of anti-EBV early antigen (EA) IgG, viral capsid antigen (VCA) IgA, nuclear antigen (NA) IgG, and EBV DNA copy number were significantly higher in EBVaGC. The ET-1 axis level was much lower in EBVaGC than EBVnGC. In this paper, we propose a novel segmentation-based intra prediction coding scheme for low-bitrate video coding. Different coding schemes are separately designed for the luma and chroma components in our proposed method. The traditional block-based coding scheme is still used for the luma components, and the segmentation-based coding scheme is developed for the chroma components. The segmentation operation is used for the reconstructed luma components, which groups similar pixels together and produces a set of homogenous regions. Here, these local and homogenous regions are referred to superpixels. By utilizing the spatial correlation between the luma and chroma planes, we transfer the segmentation result of the luma components to the chroma components, which will not induce any side information in the chroma intra prediction coding. Instead of using the macroblock (MB) as the coding unit, the proposed method implements the chroma intra prediction in each superpixel, and the original pixels in each superpixel are employed to substitute the neighboring reconstructed samples in the prediction process. The experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve an average 0.20 dB and up to 0.63 dB coding gains in comparison to the directional intra prediction scheme for H.264/AVC low-bitrate video coding. Background and aims: Cadmium (Cd) could activate activity of mitogen-activated protein kinase MPK6 in plants. In this study, we investigated the role of MPK6 in mediating Cd toxicity in plants. Methods: The wild type Arabidopsis plants (WT) and the mpk6- 2 mutants were subjected either 0 (Control) or 10 μM Cd treatment. Kinase activity of MPK6, nitric oxide (NO) level, Cd concentration, and oxidative stress were measured. Results: In WT plants, Cd exposure rapidly stimulated kinase activity of MPK6. However, upon Cd exposure, mpk6- 2 showed better growth than the WT. Although Cd-induced production of NO in roots was greater in WT than in mpk6- 2, there was no difference in Cd concentration between the two plants. Nevertheless, the Cd-induced hydroperoxide burst, lipid peroxidation and loss of membrane integrity, were all more severe in the WT than in mpk6- 2. Foliar applications of antioxidant ascorbic acid, vigorously improved the growth of both the WT and mpk6- 2 under Cd exposure. Thereby the growth difference between these two plants was minimized. Conclusions: Mutation of mpk6 enhances Cd tolerance in plants by alleviating oxidative stress, but did not affect cadmium accumulation in plants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

An important feature of EBV-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) is extensive methylation of viral and host genomes. This study aims to analyze DNA methylation-driven genes (DMDG) in EBVaGC through bioinformatics methods, providing an important bioinformatics basis for the differential diagnosis and treatment of potential methylation biomarkers in EBVaGC. We downloaded the mRNA expression profiles and methylation datasets of EBVaGC and EBV-negative gastric cancer (EBVnGC) through the TCGA database to screen methylated-differentially expressed genes (MDEGs). DNA methylation-driver genes were identified based on MethylMix algorithm and key genes were further identified by LASSO regression and Random Forest algorithm. Then, we performed gene enrichment analysis for key genes and validated them by GEO database. Gene expression differences in EBVaGC and EBVnGC cell lines was determined by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and western blotting and in GT38 cell and SNU719 cell which all treated by 5-Aza-CdR. Finally, the effect of key gene on the migration and proliferation capacity of EBVaGC cells was determined by Transwells assay and Cell counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay. We obtained a total of 687 hypermethylation-low expression genes (Hyper-LGs) and further obtained 53 DNA methylation-driver genes based on the MethylMix algorithm. A total of six key genes (SCIN, ETNK2, PCDH20, PPP1R3C, MATN2, and HOXA5) were identified by LASSO regression and Random Forest algorithm. Among them, SCIN expression was significantly lower in EBVaGC cell lines than in EBVnGC cell lines, and its expression was significantly recovered in EBVaGC cell lines treated with 5-Aza-CdR. Overexpression of SCIN can promote the proliferation and migration capacity of EBVaGC cells. Our study will provide some bioinformatics basis for the study of EBVaGC-related methylation. Deep-seated faults and folds of foreland basin systems have become important exploration targets in the recent years because they are crucial in controlling fluid migration and hydrocarbon accumulation. In this study, we analyzed the characteristics and formation history of these structures in the northwestern Sichuan Basin using recently acquired two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) seismic data. The seismic interpretation revealed that the thrust sheets, tectonic wedges, and foredeep were well developed in the northwestern Sichuan Basin from the mountain to the basin. Forward thrusts, fault-bend folds, and wedges are the main types of structures in the thrust sheets and tectonic wedges. The deep-seated faults and folds were easily recognized in the high-resolution 3D seismic data. The imbricate thrust faults that merged into detachment layers of the Lower Cambrian are the main types of structures in the foredeep, and they show a prominent strike-slip influence in the horizontal direction. The formation of these structures in the foredeep in the northwestern Sichuan Basin mainly endured two stages of thrusting, including those during the Middle-to-Late Triassic and Cenozoic. Based on the tectonic evolution and seismic data, we infer that these deep-seated faults and folds in the foredeep may have formed earlier than the northern Longmen Shan fold-and-thrust belts and they may have been initially active in the late of Early Triassic and reactive during the Cenozoic. Furthermore, evaporites in the Lower and Middle Triassic were crucial in forming these structures. The petroleum exploration data suggested that the deep-seated faults can facilitate hydrocarbon accumulation. The thrust faults in the foredeep were more likely to act as migration pathways for fluids instead of sealing barriers along the horizontal direction. The interconnected reservoirs of deep-seated folds possess a great potential to allow large-scale hydrocarbon accumulation. The thermal conductance, thermopower, and figure of merit in the ferromagnetic/insulator/ferromagnetic tunnel junction are investigated by using the nonequilibrium Green's function technique. The magnetic regions are treated as band ferromagnetic and are described by using the single-band Hubbard model; the insulator region and the hybridization between neighboring regions are also described, respectively, by using a quantum microscopic model. It was found that the strength of the thermal conductance, the thermopower, and the figure of merit increased with the increase of the level of the left ferromagnet $$\varepsilon _{k_\mathrm{L}}$$ and the temperature $$T.$$ Finally, the calculated results of thermal properties are explained theoretically. Abstract: With increasing use of weather observation and forecast services, there is an urgent need of an effective and efficient system to generate high-quality weather services and products. For example, weather maps are expected to be submitted not only for decision-making departments but also to websites whose main feature is to provide public service products on a daily or an hourly basis. In this study, first, geoprocessing is successfully extended to handle the entire process of weather map generation from data, and some associated key issues are discussed. Second, based on the distributed computing technology, an application system with multitiered architecture for weather services products generation system is designed and implemented. The system significantly enhances sharing and scalability. Finally, an application case is studied in detail by illustrating modeling, task deployment, and final execution, and it is shown that the operational system meets the requirements of simplicity, easy modeling, and customizable task deployment. Abstract: The desire to develop nanoparticle and liposomal formulations as drug carriers capitalizing on active transport mechanisms requires constant development of novel heterobifunctional polyethyleneglycol (PEG) constructs. Such constructs should be capable of sequentially reacting with extracellular binding ligands and structural components of nanoparticles and/or liposomes. Abstract: In this letter, an oxide heterostructure has been fabricated by successively growing La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) and BiFeO3 (BFO) layers on LaAlO3 (100) by pulsed laser deposition. Analysis of the leakage current at different temperature demonstrated that the Poole–Frenkel dominated the leakage current mechanism. Additionally, the BiFeO3/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 heterostructure exhibits a positive colossal magnetoresistance (MR) effect over a temperature range of 50–320K. The maximum MR values are determined to be about 45.32% at H =0.5T and 28.34% at H =0.3T. At last, we report photoconductivity in BiFeO3/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 film under illumination from 160mW/cm2 and 200mW/cm2 green-light source, and photoconductivities increase with the intensity of light enhanced. Abstract: Angiotensin II is a powerful mediator to induce cardiac remodeling and fibrosis. Transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) have been implicated in the angiotensin II-induced cardiac fibrosis. However, the signaling pathways for this angiotensin II effect and the interaction between ERK and the TGF-β1 signaling in this effect have not been well-illustrated. Cardiac fibroblasts were prepared from the ventricles of adult male Sprague–Dawley rats. They were treated with 1 µM angiotensin II in the presence or absence of losartan (angiotensin II AT1 receptor antagonist), PD123319 (angiotensin II AT2 receptor antagonist), an anti-TGF-β1 antibody or PD98059 (ERK inhibitor). The cells were collected for Western blotting and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Angiotensin II caused a significant increase of the expression of TGF-β1, ERK1, phosphorylated-Smad2/3, Smad4 and collagen I. This increase was attenuated by losartan but was not affected by PD123319. An anti-TGF-β1 antibody and PD98059 diminished angiotensin II-induced Smad2/3 phosphorylation and the expression of Smad7 and collagen I. Our results suggest that angiotensin II induces collagen I expression through angiotensin II AT1 receptor-TGF-β1-Smads signaling pathway in cardiac fibroblasts. Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent chronic joint disease, and is hard to be cured at present. Cytokine receptor-like factor 1 (CRLF1) has been identified as an upregulated gene in OA cartilage. However, the precise identities and functions of CRLF1 in OA progression have remained to be fully elucidated. Methods: We used a murine model of injury-induced OA (destabilization of medial meniscus, DMM) and BMSCs to investigate the specific biological functions and mechanisms of CRLF1. Results: We found that CRLF1 was significantly increased in the DMM surgery-induced OA model and was down-regulated during chondrogenic differentiation of BMSCs. Luciferase reporter assays showed that CRLF1 was a direct target of miR-320 in BMSCs. miR-320 can reverse the effect of CRLF1 on cell proliferation, apoptosis and chondrogenic differentiation of BMSCs. Furthermore, knockdown of CRLF1 or over-expression of miR-320 can inhibit the apoptosis of primary chondrocytes. Conclusion: Suppression of CRLF1 promotes the chondrogenic differentiation of BMSCs and protects cartilage tissue from damage in osteoarthritis via activation of miR-320. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
