Este estudo visa identificar o processo que envolve a interpretação do consentimento sexual, quando existe coerção sexual, e compreender qual o papel que a Dark Tetrad (i.e., traços negros da personalidade – psicopatia, narcisismo, maquiavelismo e sadismo) tem nessa interpretação. Recorreu-se ao método de vinhetas para construir cenários próximos da realidade. Foram desenhados quatro questionários online em que se descrevia uma situação de coerção sexual para os participantes explicarem onde é que se encontrava o consentimento ou não consentimento. Aqui variava quem era o agressor (i.e., homem ou mulher), a vítima (i.e., homem ou mulher), e com quem pedíamos ao participante para se identificar (i.e., agressor ou vítima). Foi também utilizada a escala validada short dark tetrad, para medir os traços negros da personalidade. O estudo contou com 120 participantes, 80 mulheres e 40 homens, dos 20 aos 35 anos. Nos resultados, maior parte dos participantes errou a identificar as pistas do consentimento, o que ajuda a perceber quais as mais problemáticas de identificar. Adicionalmente, verificou-se que com quem era pedido aos participantes para se identificarem influenciava a resposta. Descobriu-se também que tanto o maquiavelismo como o sadismo influenciavam significativamente a interpretação do consentimento. Esta investigação tem uma grande implicação teórica visto que conecta três conceitos pouco estudados juntos e faz o levantamento da identificação com os diferentes papéis. Percebe-se também que os traços negros da personalidade impactam a interpretação do consentimento. Futuramente dever-se-ia estudar em profundidade estes conceitos para possibilitar a criação de estratégias que ajudem interpretar corretamente o consentimento. This study aims to identify the process that involves the interpretation of sexual consent, when there is sexual coercion, and to understand the role that the Dark Tetrad (i.e., dark personality traits - psychopathy, narcissism, Machiavellianism, and sadism) has in this interpretation. A vignette method was used to build scenarios close to reality. Four online questionnaires were designed in which a situation of sexual coercion was described for participants to explain where consent or non-consent was found. Here, it varied who the aggressor was (i.e., male or female), the victim (i.e., male or female), and who was asked the participant to identify with (i.e., aggressor or victim). The validated short dark tetrad scale was also used to measure dark personality traits. This study had 120 participants, 80 women and 40 men, from 20 to 35 years old. In the results, most participants failed to identify the consent cues, which helps to understand which are the most problematic to identify. Additionally, it was found that who the participants were asked to identify with influenced the response. Both Machiavellianism and sadism were also found to significantly influence the interpretation of consent. This investigation has a great theoretical implication as it connects three concepts that have not been studied together and raises the identification with the different roles. It is also noticed that dark personality traits impact the interpretation of consent. In the future, these concepts should be studied in depth to enable the creation of strategies that help correctly interpret consent.

This project is about examining attitudes toward war and peace (based on Bizumic et al., 2013), supplemyted by examination of justfication means and reasons for war (Żemojtel-Piotrowska et al., 2022). We examine here dark side of personality, both individual (Dark Tertad, agentic and communal anrcissism) and group-level: national agentic and communal narcissism. We examine also Scchwartz values as possible mediating variable bewtene personal-level factors and attitudes toward peace and war.

We investigated how objective, behavioral data on social media use was correlated with the Dark Tetrad facets and the HEXACO traits. We tracked usage time and usage session of social media users (N = 243), considering Instagram to be a visual social medium compared to Facebook and, therefore, to be related to “dark” personality characteristics (i.e., short-term mating, antisocial attitudes). Additional to bivariate correlations, we controlled the Dark Tetrad facets for the HEXACO model and vice versa using partialed correlations, and found that agentic extraversion, self-entered antagonism, and Machiavellian tactics, but not the HEXACO traits, were correlated with Instagram usage time and sessions. We observed no personality correlations with Facebook use. In women, more facets were associated with Instagram use, while in men only boldness was linked to it. We discuss the findings in the light of short-term mating and antisocial behavior on social media (e.g., niche specialization, cyberstalking). In a series of studies, I investigated the associations between different personality taxonomies (i.e., the Dark Triad traits, the Big Five traits) and objective social media use (i.e., dating apps, Instagram, Facebook). I expanded initial results on the links between dating apps with the Dark Triad traits and the Big Five traits by using facets of the Dark Tetrad traits and the HEXACO traits (the Big Five traits and honesty-humility) to study their link to Instagram and Facebook use. The use of both visual social media, dating apps and Instagram–– but not Facebook––, is associated with dark personality traits indicating a tendency for short-term reproductive benefits. Subsequently, we investigated the relationships of the Dark Triad traits, their latent dark core, and disagreeableness towards sociosexuality. Here, the “dark” traits, but not the “bright” traits were associated with visual social media use and provided incremental validity on top of the dark core. In summary, dark personality traits show connections to several behaviors providing agentic advantages for the individual in the specific environments. The study (online survey) investigates the relationship between personality profiles of gamers, their motives to play video games and their mental health.

This study aims to determine the influence of competition on budget participation, moderated by dark personality traits (Machiavellianism, psychopathy, narcissism, and sadism). The research used a quantitative, descriptive, and experimental approach. The sample comprises 170 valid answers from undergraduate students in administration, accounting, and economics programs offered at public and private higher education institutions. The analysis used descriptive statistics to categorize the respondents. Also, partial least squares approach to structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was adopted using the SmartPLS-version 3 software to verify the research hypotheses. The results show that the presence of competition affects managers’ behavior and leads them to increase participation in budget setting. When evaluating the effect of narcissistic personality moderation on this relationship, individuals tend to decrease their budget participation. The direct effect of Machiavellianism on budget participation is positive. The relationships between the moderating effect of Machiavellianism and psychopathy, and the direct effect of psychopathy and narcissism on budget participation, did not show statistical significance. Overall, it is concluded that competition, the moderating effect of narcissism, the direct effect of Machiavellianism, and demographic variables, such as gender, age group, and undergraduate program, can be considered antecedents of budget participation. This research allows managers to deepen their knowledge about the antecedents of budget participation and enables the verification of the effect of competition and dark personality traits in the organizational environment. O objetivo deste estudo é determinar a influência da competição na participação no orçamento, moderada pelos traços sombrios de personalidade (maquiavelismo, psicopatia, narcisismo e sadismo). A pesquisa utilizou uma abordagem quantitativa, descritiva e experimental. A amostra é composta de 170 respostas válidas de acadêmicos dos cursos de administração, ciências contábeis e ciências econômicas de instituições de ensino superior públicas e privadas. Na análise dos dados, foram utilizadas estatísticas descritivas para categorizar os respondentes e técnica de Modelagem de Equações Estruturais (MEE) estimada a partir de Mínimos Quadrados Parciais (Partial Least Squares – PLS), por meio do software SmartPLS-versão 3, utilizadas para verificação das hipóteses de pesquisa. Com esses resultados, estima-se que a presença da competição afeta o comportamento dos colaboradores, e faz com que o colaborador aumente a participação no processo orçamentário. Ao avaliar o efeito da moderação da personalidade narcisista nessa relação, os indivíduos tendem a diminuir sua participação no orçamento. Já o efeito direto do maquiavelismo na participação no processo orçamentário é positivo. As relações do efeito moderador do maquiavelismo e psicopatia, e o efeito direto da psicopatia e narcisismo na participação no orçamento, não apresentaram significância estatística. No geral, conclui-se que a competição pode ser considerada antecedente da participação no orçamento, assim como o efeito moderador do narcisismo, o efeito direto do maquiavelismo e de variáveis demográficas, como gênero, faixa etária e curso. A pesquisa possibilita aos gestores aprofundar o conhecimento a cerca dos antecedentes da participação no orçamento, além de possibilitar a constatação do efeito da competição e dos traços sombrios de personalidade no ambiente organizacional.

A Dark Tetrad (DT) tem vindo a ser associada a défices na capacidade empática, sobretudo no que respeita à empatia afetiva. Como parecem ter uma empatia cognitiva preservada, sujeitos com traços DT parecem discernir acerca do estado emocional dos outros mantendo-se frios e distantes desses estados, ou seja, parecem revelar-se menos permeáveis ao contágio das emoções dos outros. Neste sentido, sujeitos com traços DT, sobretudo os maquiavélicos, conseguem ter uma tomada de perspetiva certeira e a frieza emocional necessária em prol da manipulação que lhes é característica. Estas capacidades dos sujeitos da DT têm sido verificadas na literatura. Contudo, são escassos os estudos que exploram a capacidade que sujeitos com altos níveis de DT têm no contágio dos outros. Assim sendo, foi nosso principal objetivo analisar como é que estes indivíduos, com elevados traços de DT, em especial, indivíduos com altos traços maquiavélicos são capazes de utilizar as suas competências empáticas e frieza emocional para contagiar emocionalmente os outros. Para o efeito, foram recrutados 30 participantes, 6 “atores”, pelas suas características DT (2 maquiavélicos, 2 com altos níveis de DT e 2 com baixos níveis de DT) e 24 "juízes", pelos seus baixos níveis de DT (SD4) e valores medianos de empatia (IRI e BES). Os atores narraram histórias de vida aos juízes, e a sua reatividade emocional foi medida com recurso ao Self-Assessment Manikin. Os principais resultados sugerem que, quando os estímulos são positivos (histórias alegres), os atores altos em DT e os atores maquiavélicos parecem menos competentes a contagiar emoções. Curiosamente, quando se tratava de histórias tristes os atores altos em DT e maquiavélicos foram, de forma significativa, mais competentes a representá-las e a contagiar os juízes. Estes resultados são discutidos à luz da literatura atual acerca do contágio emocional nas personalidades negras. Dark Tetrad (DT) has been associated with deficits in empathic abilities, especially when affective empathy is concerned. As they seem to have unspoilt cognitive empathy, subjects with DT traits seem to discern about the emotional state of others, keeping themselves cold-hearted and distant from these states. That is, they seem to be less permeable to the contagion of the emotions of others. In this sense, subjects with DT traits, especially Machiavellian ones, are able to have a clear perspective and the emotional coldness necessary for the manipulation that is particular of them. These capacities of TD subjects have been verified in the literature. However, there are very few studies that explore the ability that subjects with high levels of TD have in tampering others. In this sense, it was our main goal to analyse how these individuals with high TD traits, especially individuals with high Machiavellian traits, can use their empathic skills and emotional coldness to emotionally alter others. For this purpose, 30 participants were recruited, 6 "actors", for their DT characteristics (2 Machiavellian, 2 with high DT levels and 2 with low DT levels) and 24 "judges", for their low DT levels (SD4) and median values of empathy (IRI and BES). The actors narrated life stories to the judges, and their emotional responsiveness was measured using the Self-Assessment Manikin. The main results suggest that, when the stimuli are positive (happy stories), the actors with high DT and the Machiavellian actors seem less competent in portraying emotions. Interestingly, when it came to sad stories, the high DT actors and Machiavellian ones were significantly more competent at playing them and alter the judges’ emotions. These results are explored considering the current literature on emotional contagion in dark personalities.

Image Based Sexual Abuse (IBSA) denotes the creation, distribution, and/or threat of distribution of intimate images of another person online without their consent. The present study aims to extend emerging research on perpetration of IBSA with the development and preliminary validation for the moral disengagement in IBSA scale, while also examining the role of the dark triad, sadism, and sexism in a person’s likelihood to perpetrate IBSA. One hundred and twenty English speaking participants (76 women, 44 men; mean age=33 years) were recruited via social media. Machiavellianism and psychopathy were found to predict IBSA proclivity, whilst rivalry narcissism predicted greater feelings of excitement and amusement towards IBSA. Moral disengagement predicted IBSA proclivity and blaming the victim. It was also positively related to greater feelings of amusement and excitement towards IBSA. This suggests a distinct personality profile of IBSA perpetrators, and that moral disengagement mechanisms play a role in facilitating and reinforcing this behaviour. El abuso sexual basado en la imagen (ASBI) describe la creación, distribución y/o amenaza de distribución en Internet de imágenes íntimas de otra persona sin su consentimiento. Este estudio pretende extender la investigación emergente sobre la comisión de ASBI con el desarrollo y validación preliminar de la separación moral en la escala ASBI, al tiempo que se examina el papel de la tríada oscura, el sadismo y el sexismo en la probabilidad de que una persona cometa ASBI. Se reclutó mediante redes sociales a 120 participantes de habla inglesa (76 mujeres, 44 hombres, edad promedio de 33 años). Se concluyó que la personalidad maquiavélica y la psicopatía pueden predecir la proclividad de cometer ASBI, mientras que el narcisismo de rivalidad predecía mayores sentimientos de emoción y diversión hacia el ASBI. La desconexión moral predecía la proclividad al ASBI y la culpabilización de la víctima. También estaba positivamente relacionada con mayores sentimientos de diversión y emoción hacia el ASBI. We strive to validate a German version of the Short Dark Tetrad Scale (SD4)

Social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, enable human communication at scale through the narrating and self-expression of one's thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. According to the psycholexical hypothesis of personality (John et al., 1988), individual differences are manifested in language, and language, therefore, assembles a full taxonomy of personality traits. The widespread usage of social media, currently close to four billion around the world (Statista, 2022), has thus provided a major opportunity for psychologists to study personality characteristics through written social media content. However, questions have for long been raised about whether people can be assumed to present and express their true selves on social media, or rather an idealized version. The literature on verbal self-expression distinguishes between self-disclosure and self-presentation, where self-disclosure is the persona one communicates independently of others' impressions, and self-presentation is the communication of one's public desirable persona (Johnson, 1981). Schlosser (2020) reviewed the research on self-presentation and self-disclosure online, concluding that self-presentation prevails; “those posting on social media have become performers who present an edited version of themselves that they believe will be best received by others”. Indeed, social media platforms can be perceived as constituting opportunities and tactics for verbally presenting and expressing oneself according to one's personal goals, such as maintaining, searching for, and establishing social relationships and networks. Written social media content (e.g. Facebook status updates, Tweets) may therefore serve as a vigorous predictor of those personality traits characterized by tactics of social influence and manipulation. The literature exploring social media self-expression versus self-disclosure of the darker traits of personality is scarce. In the present study, we aimed to approach this gap by using Latent semantic analysis (LSA) to predict self-reported Dark Tetrad traits (Machiavellianism, Narcissism, Psychopathy, and Sadism). This is done by quantifying the semantic content in the language that individuals use when writing about themselves versus a recent world event, in simulated Facebook and Twitter posts, versus private texts. Prior research using LSA on social media content (Garcia & Sikström, 2014), found that The Dark Triad of personality (Machiavellianism, Narcissism, and Psychopathy) is manifested through self-expression and promotion of personality; Psychopathy and Narcissism were predicted through the semantic content of Facebook status updates, revealing more odd and negative content. Remaining to be investigated is whether these semantic representations used by the darker personality traits can exclusively be attributed to the specific context of social media, as well as to the typical self-expression content on social media, or rather to those individuals' general written language.

This study details the correlation between the online act of "trolling" and the Dark Tetrad of Personality Traits. This is an observational study where data is collected from study subjects not randomly assigned to a treatment. The study design follows that of a repeated measure study and there is no blinding involved. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and sign a consent form prior to any activity. In order to collect data, participants will be asked to use the internet for gaming and/or social media usage. To analyze the data, a post-hoc test will be considered to figure significant difference in testing results.

In this research, we want to elaborate on differential tendencies of the Dark tetrad traits to engage in different forms of face-to-face or cyberbullying. To provide a mechanism for the effects, we test dehumanization as a mediator.

Revenge is associated with reward and positive affect (Chester, 2017), but the details of how these feelings unfold over time are unclear. More specifically, it is unclear if people experience positive affect prior to revenge, during revenge, and/or after revenge. Further, it is unknown the extent to which these various experiences of revenge-related affect differ among people with antagonistic personality traits (e.g., psychopathy, sadism, machiavellianism, narcissism).

The purpose of this experiment was to see whether or not the Dark Tetrad's personalities (narcissism, sadism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy) had an increase on trolling behaviors on multiple social media applications (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) and seeing which personality type displayed the most enjoyment trolling.

In this study, we test the relationships between dark personality traits (psychopathy, Machiavellianism, narcissism, and sadism), empathy, moral disengagement, and rape myth acceptance. Previous research suggests that people who are higher in dark tetrad traits are more likely to engage in sexually aggressive behaviour (e.g., March et al., 2021; Shahnawaz et al., 2019). This may be due to a combination of lack affective empathy (e.g., Pajevic et al., 2018; Sest & March, 2017) and a greater tendency to engage in morally disengagement (e.g., Clemente et al., 2019) – both factors that are also shown to predict sexual aggression (Levitan & Vachon, 2021; Page & Pina, 2018). Research has also found that both affective empathy (Velimirovic et al., 2018; Sest & March, 2017) and moral disengagement (Nocera et al., 2021) mediate the relationship between dark personality traits and unethical behaviour in other domains, but this has not been demonstrated in relation to sexual aggression.

Preregistered hypothesis for Trolling and Violence Research Project.

Creativity is the process of generating novel and useful ideas in a given context (e.g., Runco & Jaeger, 2012). Specifically, the construct of dark creativity involves using the creative process to meet intentionally harmful or inadvertently negative goals, making its associations with less desirable constructs like deception (Beaussart, Andrews, & Kaufman, 2013; Gino & Ariely, 2012; Gino & Wiltermuth, 2014; Walczyk, Runco, Tripp, & Smith, 2008). Given that the creative process can be directed toward meeting benevolent/positive or malevolent/negative goals, creative valences are likely to be distinctly associated with the five moral foundations, proposed by Graham et al. (2011). Additionally, individual differences in personality and pre-existing demographic characteristics may also lead to variations in these relationships. However, research is yet to investigate the associations between creativity and the five moral foundations. This study thus seeks to fill in this gap in the literature by looking at the relationship between creativity and moral foundations, while also studying moral foundations, dark creativity, and dark personality traits in conjunction. The primary objectives of the current study are: 1. To examine the associations between moral foundations and creativity (self-reported and objectively rated). 2. To explore associations between morality, personality, and everyday creativity. We also aim to explore the potential mediating effect of dark personality traits and deception on the relationship between morality and creativity. Specifically, we pose the following research questions: RQ1. Do the Dark Tetrad traits and deception mediate the relationship between individualizing moral foundations and performance on the divergent thinking tasks (in terms of fluency, creativity, moral valence, virtue caveat, and deception)? RQ2. Do the Dark Tetrad traits and deception mediate the relationship between binding moral foundations and performance on the divergent thinking tasks (in terms of fluency, creativity, moral valence, virtue caveat, and deception)?

Abstract. The aim of this research was to examine the structure of the Dark Triad and Tetrad traits by answering the question whether a person-centered or a variable-centered approach is more suitable for their description, or its combination. Moreover, we examined whether the inclusion of sadism into the dark traits constellation would change the results. On a sample of 404 participants, both short and full-length measures of the Dark Triad were used, while sadism was assessed via Short Sadistic Impulse Scale. The results of the factor mixture analysis showed that the variable-centered approach is better at describing the Dark Triad, but the inclusion of sadism resulted in qualitatively different latent profiles, suggesting that the person-centered approach could serve in describing the Dark Tetrad. Inclusion of sadism led to the isolation of higher Dark Tetrad-sadism profile in both short and full-length measures and this profile showed the higher risk behaviors and interpersonal problems. Other isolated profiles could be interpreted as lower and higher Dark Tetrad profiles, with some specificities. Results showed that inclusion of sadism contributed to the isolation of profile more prone to sadism, but also to isolation of other profiles, suggesting that it could change the relations among dark traits.

This study examines the relations between characteristics of Life Stories and self-assessed narcissism and the Dark Tetrad. We look at the confirmatory relations between redemption, agency, communion, and narcissism/Dark Tetrad. In addition, we explore relations with other linguistic indicators.

A coerção sexual é um tipo de violência sexual que se caracteriza por comportamentos direcionados a compelir um indivíduo a iniciar atividade sexual contra a sua vontade. A personalidade parece influenciar a expressão de comportamentos violentos, em particular, os traços sub-clínicos de personalidade- Dark Tetrad têm vindo a ser apontados como fatores predisponentes. A presente investigação pretende estudar os comportamentos coercivos entre parceiros íntimos e a sua relação com a Dark Tetrad, utilizando como ótica explicativa, o modelo de interdependência entre elementos do casal. Foi criado um questionário sociodemográfico, um referente à história do casal e um com possíveis cenários de coerção sexual. Utilizou-se ainda o Questionário dos Traços Antagónicos de personalidade- Dark Tetrad (Paulhus, Curtis & Jones, 2018), a Escala Portuguesa de Afeto Positivo e Negativo (PANAS; Watson, Clark, & Tellegen, 1988, versão portuguesa de Galinha & Ribeiro, 2005) e o Questionário de Agressividade de Buss-Perry (AQ) (1992). Foram contactadas 40 díades com idades compreendidas entre os 20 e os 62 anos de idade. Os resultados revelaram que a agressividade, a psicopatia e os afetos negativos contribuem para a perpetração do género masculino. Por outro lado, a psicopatia da mulher contribui para a vitimização do homem, sugerindo que o mesmo traço influencia não só o comportamento individual, mas também o comportamento do outro. O sadismo da mulher revelou contribuir para a vitimização da mesma. Sexual coercion is a type of sexual violence that is characterized by behaviors aimed at compelling an individual to initiate sexual activity against their will. Personality seems to influence the expression of violent behaviors, in particular, sub-clinical personality traits - Dark Tetrad have been identified as predisposing factors. The present investigation intends to study the coercive behaviors between intimate partners and their relationship with the Dark Tetrad, using as an explanatory perspective, the model of interdependence between elements of the couple. A sociodemographic questionnaire was created, one referring to the couple's history and one with possible sexual coercion scenarios. We also used the Questionnaire of Antagonistic Personality Traits - Dark Tetrad (Paulhus, Curtis & Jones, 2018), the Portuguese Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS; Watson, Clark, & Tellegen, 1988, Portuguese version by Galinha & Ribeiro , 2005) and the Buss Perry Aggression Questionnaire (AQ) (1992). Forty dyads aged between 20 and 62 were contacted. The results revealed that aggression, psychopathy and negative affect contribute to the perpetuation of the male gender. On the other hand, female psychopathy contributes to male victimization, suggesting that the same trait influences not only individual behavior but also the behavior of the other. The woman's sadism revealed to contribute to her victimization.

Virtuelle Kollaboration ist im Zuge technologischer Innovationen bei der Digitalisierung, spätestens seit der Corona-Krise 2020, sowohl im Erwerbsleben (Virtuelle Teams; VTs) als auch im Lehr- und Lernkontext (Computer-Supported-Collaborative-Learning; CSCL) unverzichtbar. Bisherige Forschungsbeiträge zeigten, dass die adäquate Verwendung elektronischer Kommunikationsmedien konstruktive Prozesse und Verhaltensweisen, wie z.B. Vertrauensbildung und gemeinsames Wissensmanagement fördert, dagegen deviantes Arbeitsverhalten senkt, was sich positiv auf die Effektivität auswirkt. Antagonistische Persönlichkeitsmerkmale (Dark Tetrad) sind als zuverlässige Prädiktoren für destruktive Verhaltensweisen identifiziert worden. Anhand interaktionistischer Umwelt-Person-Modelle (u.a. Construal Level Theory, Trait Activation Theory) abgeleitet, sollte der Ausdruck typischer mit der Dark Tetrad assoziierter Verhaltensmerkmale (u.a. kontraproduktives bzw. verringertes prosoziales Arbeitsverhalten, Zurückhaltung des Wissenstransfers, destruktive Führung) in virtuellen Arbeitskontexten wahrscheinlicher sein als in Face-to-Face-Arbeitskontexten (bzw. solchen mit hoher wahrgenommener Sozialer Präsenz). Zwei Vignettenexperimente und zwei Feldstudien (Querschnitt sowie feldexperimenteller Längsschnitt) mit überwiegend Berufstätigen (N = 1448) bestätigten diese Annahme weitgehend. Ein höherer Virtualitätsgrad verstärkte im Vergleich zu einem geringeren Virtualitätsgrad die Zusammenhänge der Dark Tetrad und destruktivem Arbeits- und Sozialverhalten, schwächte hingegen die Zusammenhänge zu konstruktiven Formen. Dabei wies Psychopathie die stabilsten Effekte auf, gefolgt von Machiavellismus. Sadismus und Narzissmus verhielten sich teilweise inkonsistent. Mehrebenen-Analysen deckten diese Effekte auch auf Gruppenebene (u.a. Crosslevel-Modelle) auf, was synergetische Prozesse nahelegt. Team-Vertrauen erwies sich dabei als Mediator, insbesondere hinsichtlich des Zusammenhangs von Virtualität und Arbeits- und Sozialverhalten. Vertiefende explorative Analysen zeigten eine Abhängigkeit von Geschlecht sowie kurvilineare Zusammenhänge und Effekte durch Intragruppen-Variabilität bzgl. der Dark Tetrad. Implikationen für Anwendung und weiterführende Forschung werden diskutiert., Virtual collaboration has become crucial in the course of technological innovations in digitization, at the latest since the Corona Crisis 2020, both in the occupational field (Virtual Teams; VTs) and in teaching and learning contexts (Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning; CSCL). Previous research showed that adequate use of electronic communication media promotes constructive processes and behaviors, such as trust-building and shared knowledge management while lowering deviant work behaviors, positively impacting effectiveness. Antagonistic personality traits (dark tetrad) have been identified as reliable predictors of destructive behaviors. Derived from interactionist environment-person models (including Construal Level Theory, Trait Activation Theory), the expression of typical behavioral traits associated with Dark Tetrad (including counterproductive or reduced prosocial work behavior, knowledge hiding, destructive leadership) should be more likely in virtual work contexts than in face-to-face work contexts (or those with high perceived social presence). Two vignette experiments and two field studies (cross-sectional and field-experimental longitudinal) with predominantly professional workers (N = 1448) essentially confirmed this assumption. Compared to a lower virtuality level, a higher virtuality level strengthened the relationships of Dark Tetrad and destructive work behavior but weakened those to constructive forms. Psychopathy showed the most stable effects, followed by Machiavellianism. Sadism and narcissism behaved inconsistently in some cases. Multilevel analyses revealed these effects also at the group level (including cross-level models), suggesting synergistic processes. Team-Trust proved to be a mediator, especially concerning the relationship between virtuality and work behavior. More in-depth exploratory analyses revealed a dependence on gender and curvilinear relationships and effects due to intra-group variability regarding the dark tetrad. Implications for application and further research are discussed.

Претходна истраживања доследно показују да је изложеност негативним животним догађајима повезана са склоношћу ка антисоцијалним понашањима, али када се испитује повезаност са унутрашњим чиниоцима попут особина личности, резултати истраживања нису доследни. Циљ овог истраживања представља испитивање ефеката учесталости негативних животних догађаја у контексту породичних, вршњачких и школских прилика и црта Мрачне тетраде (нарцизам, макијавелизам, психопатија и садизам) на различите облике антисоцијалног понашања код адолесцената, попут кршења норми, злоупотребе супстанци, агресије и вандализма. Узорак је чинио 221 средњошколац (66% девојака) из три града у Србији. Резултати показују да су негативни животни догађаји значајни позитивни предиктори кршења норми, агресије и вандализма, док се предикција злоупотребе дрога губи увођењем мрачних црта у регресиони модел. Када су у питању мрачне црте, нарцизам, психопатија и садизам су значајани позитивни предиктори кршења норми и агресије, док садизам поред кршења норми и агресије значајно предвиђа и вандализам. Макијавелизам није показао значајне доприносе у објашњењу антисоцијалних понашања. Резултати упућују на то да се кршење норми у великом степену може објаснити и негативним догађајима и особинама личности, док се агресија више објашњава особинама личности. Испитивани чиниоци у мањој мери објашњавају вандализам и злоупотребу дрога. O резултатима је дискутовано у контексту могуће превенције склоности ка антисоцијалном понашању код адолесцената. Previous studies have shown that exposure to adverse life events is positively associated with a tendency towards antisocial behavior. However, results concerning relationships between antisocial behaviour and internal factors, such as personality traits, are not so consistent. The present study aimed to examine the effects of negative life events and Dark Tetrad traits (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism) on different antisocial behaviors, including norm-breaking, aggression, vandalism, and drug use. The sample included 221 high school students (66% females) from three cities in Serbia. Results showed that negative life events significantly predicted norm-breaking, aggression, and vandalism, while such life events’ power to predict drug use ceased once the dark traits were added to the regression model. In the case of dark traits, narcissism, psychopathy, and sadism positively predicted norm-breaking and aggression, while sadism also predicted vandalism. Machiavellianism did not significantly predict any of the antisocial behaviors. Тhe results suggest that norm-breaking is largely explained by both negative life events and personality traits. Aggression, on the other hand, is better explained by personality traits. Finally, the examined factors contribute much less to the explanation of vandalism and drug use.The results are discussed in the context of possible prevention of antisocial behavior in adolescents.

Las nuevas tecnologías y la comunicación digital están a la orden del día e influyen en la población para buscar pareja o tener relaciones íntimas. Cada vez es más popular y está normalizándose. Es por ello que se han desarrollado numerosas aplicaciones de citas, entre ellas Tínder. La aparición de estas apps tiene aspectos positivos, mejorar el bienestar psicológico y aumentar las relaciones interpersonales, también aspectos negativos, problemas sociales derivados de las comunicaciones online. El objetivo del estudio fue conocer cómo los rasgos de la personalidad oscura (narcisismo, maquiavelismo, psicopatía y sadismo), que forman la Tétrada Oscura, conductas sexuales de riesgo y miedo a estar solo/a influyen en los motivos de usar Tínder en la población española. Para ello se diseñó un diseño transversal en el que participaron 177 personas de entre 18 y 66 años (70% mujeres; M = 31.18; SD = 8.67). Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que los rasgos de la Tétrada Oscura, las conductas sexuales de riesgo y la dependencia emocional explican hasta el 30% de la varianza total explicada para los motivos de usar Tinder, siendo el modelo de “experiencia sexual” el de mayor contribución. Tinder es un medio poderoso con gran impacto en la sociedad que controla diferentes comportamientos sexuales, los motivos de uso de esta aplicación pueden ser o no un peligro, dependiendo de los rasgos que presenten o el fin mismo del motivo de uso de la aplicación. Por ello debe implementarse programas de educación y prevención para la salud sexual y social. New technologies and digital communication are the order of the day and influence the population to find a partner or have intimate relationships. It is becoming increasingly popular and normalized. That is why numerous dating apps have been developed, among them Tínder. The emergence of these apps has positive aspects, improving psychological well-being and increasing interpersonal relationships, but also negative aspects, social problems derived from online communications. The aim of the study was to find out how dark personality traits (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy and sadism), which form the Dark Tetrad, sexual risk behaviors and fear of being alone influence the reasons for using Tinder in the Spanish population. For this purpose, a cross-sectional design was designed in which 177 people between 18 and 66 years of age (70% women; M = 31.18; SD = 8.67) participated. The results obtained showed that Dark Tetrad traits, sexual risk behaviors and emotional dependence explained up to 30% of the total variance explained for the reasons for using Tinder, with the "sexual experience" model being the one with the highest contribution. Tinder is a powerful medium with great impact on society that controls different sexual behaviors, the motives for using this application may or may not be a danger, depending on the traits they present or the very purpose of the motive for using the application. Therefore, education and prevention programs for sexual and social health should be implemented.

Sujeitos com traços Dark Tetrad costumam apresentar défices empáticos, especificamente no que diz respeito à empatia afetiva. Por norma, a empatia afetiva tem sido avaliada com recurso ao autorrelato, uma abordagem que tem recebido inúmeras críticas por parte de autores que sugerem a avaliação multi-método deste construto, com recurso a medidas implícitas por fornecerem uma descrição mais real do funcionamento da empatia. Neste contexto, o principal objetivo do nosso estudo foi analisar a associação entre as medidas de empatia (autorrelato; medidas explícitas) e as de contágio emocional (desempenho; medidas implícitas de reatividade emocional) e os traços da DT. Para o efeito, foram avaliados 113 participantes (76 mulheres), com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 39 anos, que responderam aos questionários de autorrelato para avaliação da empatia e duas tarefas de contágio emocional, com recurso a estímulos auditivos e em contexto escrito. Os principais resultados dos instrumentos de autorrelato sugerem que, quando maior presença de traços DT, maiores as dificuldades empáticas, sobretudo ao nível da empatia afetiva. No que se refere às medidas de contágio emocional, observámos que os traços de maquiavelismo e narcisismo se encontravam associados a respostas emocionais incongruentes com os estímulos musicais, verificando-se que face a estímulos emocionais alegres experienciavam emoções negativas e face a estímulos emocionais tristes experienciavam emoções positivas. A mesma incongruência foi registada para todos os traços DT e os estímulos escritos. Subjects with Dark Tetrad traits tend to have empathic deficits, especially regarding affective empathy. By default, affective empathy has been assessed using self report, an approach that has received criticism by authors who have advanced a multi method assessment of this construct, using implicit measures to provide a more realistic description of how empathy works. Thus, the main objective of our study was to analyse the association between measures of empathy (self-report; explicit measures), emotional contagion (performance; implicit measures of emotional reactivity) and DT traits. For this purpose, 113 participants (76 women), aged between 18 and 39 years, answered the self report questionnaires for the assessment of empathy and two emotional contagion tasks, using auditory stimuli and in a written context. The main results of improved self-report instruments suggest that, the greater the presence of DT traits, the greater the empathic difficulties, especially at the level of affective empathy. With regard to measures of emotional contagion, we observed that the traces of machiavellianism and narcissism were associated with emotional responses inconsistent with musical stimuli, verifying that with the happy emotional stimuli they experienced negative emotions and with the sad emotional stimuli they experienced positive emotions. The same incongruity was recorded for all DT traces and written stimuli
