This thesis deals with interpersonal relationships at a workplace. Its aim is to analyze the interrelationships of the selected company and map out subjective interpretations in the terms of employee relations. For these purposes the author uses interviewing techniques through interviews and observations, and based on their findings, she draws conclusions relating to both horizontal and vertical level relationships in the organization. The author formulates a positive and negative form of relationship through testimonies of respondents. She finds the differences between people preferring formal or informal dimension of the employment relationship, and at the same time she reveals several kinds of different strategies that people use in an effort of harmonious getting on at the workplace, both in the terms of prevention of bad relations and in connection with the intervention and the solution of the situation that has been problematic. The results show how "good" and "bad" relationships at the workplace are perceived through the eyes of respondents, nevertheless what is not confirmed, is the presumption that the negative form of relations will be most often represented by mobbing or sexual harassment at the workplace. Among respondents there is the concept of bad relationships linked primarily to...

The so-called Second Czechoslovak Republic (1938-1939) is used to be portrayed as the dark age, when obscure, fascist elements came to lights. This period is ussually put in opposition to the previous First Czechoslovak Republic (1918-1938). In this thesis the main argument consist of questioning the continuity between these two allegedly contradictory historical times through the analysis of special legislation - state of exception -, which was adopted in purpose to deal with defending the democracy in Czechoslovakia between 1933 and 1938. The State Protection Act (1936) implemented into legal discourse special term for potential - in the case of war - enemies of the state: "state unreliable persons". This category of "reliability" was understood as nationality and part of far more complex national consensus by all contemporary agents, which legitimizes the state intervention primarily into the economic sphere. In the centre of national consensus stood transformed labour: collective duty for the nation. Until 1938, among contemporary agents, exists strong notion that realization the state of exception in the case of war and therefore national consensus cannot be fully realized because of international minority laws. But during the Second Republic (1938-1939) different agents used language of...

This report describes the results of a PRACE Preparatory Access Type C project to optimise the implementation of Møller-Plesset second order perturbation theory (MP2) in CP2K, to allow it to be used efficiently on the PRACE Research Infrastructure. The work consisted of three stages: firstly serial optimisation of several key computational kernels; secondly, OpenMP implementation of parallel 3D Fourier Transform to support mixedmode MPI/OpenMP use of CP2K; and thirdly - benchmarking the performance gains achieved by new code on HERMIT for a test case representative of proposed production simulations. Consistent speedups of 8% were achieved in the integration kernel routines as a result of the serial optimisation. When using 8 OpenMP threads per MPI process, speedups of up to 10x for the 3D FFT were achieved, and for some combinations of MPI processes and OpenMP threads, overall speedups of 66% for the whole code were measured. As a result of this work, a proposal for full PRACE Project Access has been submitted.

Given the breadth of the concept of new capitalism and possible topics that present themselves here, the main objective of this work is especially presentation of new capitalism as reflected in sociological literature and reference to its highly efficient nature. The work is also a reflection on key topics opened by leading theoreticians of contemporary capitalism. Using Weberian sociology, the work seeks to capture the development of capitalism and to grasp new contemporary capitalism. The development of capitalism is described by the development of three important aspects that appear early in modern capitalism which are important during its whole history up to the present. It is the development of the phenomenon of work, consumption and time. For these three phenomena, the presented work deals in particular with their tendency to become increasingly more efficient. Efficiency is part of the rationalization process; the work uses a more suitable term for contemporary Euro-American society - effectivization (efficiency boost of society), due to its ubiquity and topicality, and also due to the fact that current changes are being legitimized under the designation of efficiency. Where the logic of money takes control (at the market), thinking is being rationalized and resources are being used more...

The main aim of the research was to map the influence of selected social determinants on health of target immigrant groups. The method was based on the concept of ten social determinants of health as introduced by Wilkinson and Marmot (2003). The quantitative method used were interviews. The survey was carried out in the period from January 2010 to December 2012. Data collection was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the influence of two social determinants of health (nutrition and addiction) on the respondents' state of health was investigated. The second stage of the survey focused on working conditions and on how respondents can use health care. 246 immigrants were interviewed in the first stage of the survey. They were from the following regions: South Bohemian Region, the capital Prague and Vysočina Region. 236 immigrants from two regions (South Bohemian Region and the capital Prague) were addressed in the second stage of the survey. They were legally settled immigrants in the age group 18 65, of Vietnamese, Mongolian and Ukrainian nationality. The results of the survey clearly show that the target immigrant groups are more exposed to unfavorable working conditions than majority population. Compared to the Czech population the target immigrant groups show statistically significant differences especially in the area of excessive workload and discrimination in the workplace. Increasing incidence of unfavorable working conditions resulted in significant increase in occupational diseases. The factors influencing use of healthcare by immigrants are the type of health insurance, length of residence, sex and knowledge of Czech language. Immigrants who had entered the system of public health insurance used healthcare much more frequently than immigrants with commercial health insurance. Male immigrants smoke and drink alcohol much more heavily than female immigrants. The young generation of immigrants (aged 18 to 29) smoke statistically more significantly than the middle-aged and older generation of immigrants. Middle-aged immigrants (aged 30 to 50) consume more wine and spirits. Their health was perceived subjectively as "worse" by those respondents who at the same time mentioned chronic pain and psychic stress in the workplace. The following measures could lead to elimination of social inequality and to improvement of immigrants' situation in the Czech Republic: equal working conditions for immigrants and Czech employees, improvement of immigrants' knowledge of Czech, shortening of the overall time for obtaining permanent residence, simplification of the terms for gaining citizenship, guarantee of access to public healthcare to all legally settled immigrants.

CP2K, a popular open-source European atomistic simulation package has been ported to the Intel Xeon Phi architecture, requiring no code modifications except minor bug fixes. Benchmarking of a small molecular dynamics simulation has been carried out using CP2K’s existing MPI, OpenMP and mixed-mode MPI/OpenMP implementations to achieve full utilisation of the Xeon Phi’s 240 virtual cores. Running on the Xeon Phi in native mode, CP2K is approximately 4x slower than utilising all 16 cores of a Xeon E5-2670 Sandy Bridge dualsocket node. Careful placement of processes and threads on the virtual cores of the Xeon Phi was found to be crucial in achieving good performance. Analysis of the benchmark results has led to the identification of a number of bottlenecks which must be resolved to achieve competitive performance on the Xeon Phi, which will be carried out as a follow on to the work reported here.

PRACE ,Intel Xeon Phi ,CP2K - Abstract
CP2K is an important European program for atomistic simulation for many users of the PRACE Research Infrastructure as well as national and local compute resources. In the context of a PRACE Preparatory Access Type C project, we have parallelised several routines in CP2K to allow the code to gain better performance on the Intel Xeon Phi for a materials science application. We have obtained a 50% speedup in the maximum performance of the code on the Xeon Phi, but have not been able to demonstrate better performance than running the same calculation on a Sandy Bridge 16-core CPU node. We present details of the developments made to CP2K, and discuss several lessons, which will be of wider interest to developers considering porting their codes to Xeon Phi.

Deliverable from the TEXT Project describing trial implementation of SMPSs in CP2K Different developers outside the project or applications not initially considered in it have been identified and addressed in order to assess how the MPI/SMPSs model could be used in those cases. Different levels of depth have been actually been carried out, and in some of the cases only a part of the application was targeted. The study mostly focused on widening the identification of methodological issues and feedback on the suitability of the model and the functionality of its implementations. This deliverable reports on the experience with 6 apps/codes: Hydro, GROMACS, GADGET, CP2K, MRGENESIS and ShallowWaters. Very interesting feedback has been obtained addressing both methodological programming practices and the characteristics of the SMPSs/OmpSs model and implementation.

This study focus on the process of organizational redesign in the Portuguese Public Administration, through the analysis of its impact on the organizational structures of the Directorate-General for Economic Activities, of the Directorate-General for Consumer Protection, of the Institute of Support to Small and Medium Enterprises and Innovation, PI, and of the Portuguese Institute of Quality, PI, agencies of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation. The timetable under consideration goes from 2006 to the present. It was aimed at studying to what extent law decrees comply with the recommendations rooted in the reports of the reinventing the Portuguese machinery of government, i.e, PRACE and PREMAC. In view of PRACE we have found that the DGAE and DGC could go further than recommended to reduce the number of senior civil servants, assignments and organizational units. IAPMEI can only reduce the number of organizational units. The IPQ was not extinguished as intended. A reduction in internal units competences was implemented at DGAE and DGC. In view of PREMAC we have found that the DGC and IAPMEI can reduce the number of senior civil servants and assignments from the previous organic diploma. The DGAE can only reduce the number of senior civil servants. And the IPQ keeps everything in line with the previous law.

One may observe a growing trend of figure measuring the ration between export and gross domestic product that applies for almost all countries. In response to this phenomenon theories dealing with international trade becomes more important. The capability to identify some trends in commodity movements and determine advantages rising from bilateral trade are key aspects of economic growth and country development. This thesis deals with the analysis of international trade between Czech Republic and Germany. Fundamental determinant of trade between countries is Heckscher-Ohlin Theorem and as my research instrument I choose Input-Output methodology. I decided to use two types of calculation, while evaluating the validity of mentioned theory. First is Leontief methodology from 1954, which led to famous Leontief paradox. Second and more modern approach is the one developed by Riedel in 1974. In quantitative part of my analysis I focused my attention on two calculations with purpose to state factor endowment and country's production intensity. The meaning of this analysis is to confirm the validity of Heckscher-Ohlin Theorem, which would lead to conclusion that commodity movement between Czech Republic and Germany is driven by neoclassical theory of comparative advantage.

The subject of the Bachelor work is a research of Italian neologisms from the sphere of cosmetics from 1900 to 2011. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes theoretical basis for understanding and timing of the concrete term neologism, how is the Italian language enriched with neologisms in the 20. and 21. century, how I sought out them. Furthermore, this part indicates the definition of the semantic sphere of cosmetics. In the analytical part I compiled my own corpus of contemporary Italian texts from the sphere of cosmetics, I verified in the explanatory dictionaries the etymology and the dating of the lexis, I determined basic categories in terms of the mode of the formation of words and I analysed selected samples according to various criterions. The aim of this work is to find neologisms from the sphere of cosmetics in contemporary Italian texts (especially in Italian magazines), to determine their etymology and to analyse them in details in terms of the method of the formation of words.

This report describes the work undertaken under PRACE-1IP to support the European scientific communities who make use of CP2K in their research. This was done in two ways – firstly, by improving the performance of the code for a wide range of usage scenarios. The updated code was then tested and installed on the PRACE CURIE supercomputer. We believe this approach both supports existing user communities by delivering better application performance, and demonstrates to potential users the benefits of using optimized and scalable software like CP2K on the PRACE infrastructure.

Internal migration is one of the possible ways to reduce unemployment within the country. The aim of this paper is to compare the volume of internal migration between NUTS II regions in the Czech Republic and Austria and to try to identify factors that act to the migration flows. The results show that Austria is characterized by increased internal migration, international migration, as well as commuting to work in another region. Since the Czech Republic all these indicators lagging behind, it is necessary to determine whether the internal migration of both states is influenced by the same factors. Specifically, the paper examined the relationship of interregional migration and the average disposable income, unemployment rate, number of vacancies, the size and distance of regions, using the method of multiple linear regression analysis. While in the Czech Republic the internal migration is motivated by economic factors, in Austria, the relationship of migration and selected variables was not confirmed. The paper finds that residents of Austria are more active in terms of migration, but this move has obviously other than economic incentives.

This thesis focuses on the reconciliation of work and family responsibilities of women. The aim is to find out how women manage to balance work and family, how much time per week they dedicate to housework and family care and how is their partner involved in the responsibilities. Interviews and questionnaires are used for these purposes. The idea of gender roles is reflected not only in the work area, but also in the personal one. The man expects that the woman will take care of household and children. It is appropriate for the partners to have an equal part of the responsibilities that arise from living together and starting a family. It is also necessary to solve who of the partners stays on parental leave. It always depends on the individual case and the mutual agreement of the partners.

In my thesis, The Life of a Handicapped Person, I tried to chart what influences the future of such person and how problems trouble him in life. In the first chapters I defined and separated the types of disabilities, their different impact and problems in diagnosis. The central part of the work is the chapter on systems that influence the life of a disabled person. These systems are mostly influenced by the family because, by accepting the child, the parent, as well as the selected type of upbringing, affects the future of the person and likewise the disabled child has a vital influence on the family. Also included is a chapter on health care, social services and education. The quality of life of a disabled person is also influenced by friends, hence a social process, and partnerships, and equally important is the person's professional role. The fourth chapter relates to research which was carried out by a questionnaire on a group of 46 people with physical disabilities. On the basis of the answers, I verified the validity of the six pre-defined hypotheses.

In this bachelor thesis I focused on the problem of the multiple sclerosis. It is an autoimmune neurological disorder manifesting itself by an emergence of inflammatory foci in the white matter of the brain and spinal cord, which destroys a container of nerve fibres so called myelin. The nerve fibre undresses and a neurotransmission slows down. Scars remain in the place of the myelin damage. An onset of the disease is usually between 20 and 40 years. At present, in the Czech Republic there are approximately 15 000 people with multiple sclerosis, 60% of them are women and 40% are men. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I focused on the current state of the problem. In individual chapters I present for example a history, a theory of the emergence or a communication with people with this disability. The theoretical part should provide basic information about multiple sclerosis. The practical part consists of a methodology I used for gathering information for the research and an evaluation of results. The information was collected by a technique of a qualitative research, a method of a semi-structured interview. Experimental samples were two. The first one was compound of people who have multiple sclerosis, the second one were close people, i.e. friends, family members. I conducted the research with clients from St. Joseph´s Home in Žireč, with clients of MS Centre in České Budějovice and with my close people and friends. Results of the research are presented in the section Results and Discussion. An aim of this thesis was to determine the influence of multiple sclerosis on an individual and his surroundings and to familiarize the people with the disease and the problems which this disorder can bring. During my research I focused on issues of housing, employment, culture life and an awareness of this problem.
