LA-ICPMS U-Pb zircon dating of the Sanpinggou, Gangou and Fengzishan granitoids in the Douling Group of the Eastern Qinling yields ages of 760-685 Ma, which represents a strong tectono-magmatic event in the southern Qinling during the late Neoproterozoic. Geochemical data show that these intrusions have wide compositions ranging from minor gabbros through diorites to granodiorites. They are relatively enriched in LILE, poor in HFSE and strongly depleted in Nb and Ta, displaying affinities of Ⅰ-type granites formed in an active continental margin with oceanic subduction. In contrast to granitoids, gabbros and enclaves in the granitoids have higher REE abundances, relatively flat REE patterns, lower LILE, slightly higher HFSE and more depletion in Nb and Ta. All these suggest that the gabbros were formed by partial melting of the upper mantle above the subduction zone and the granitoids by the partial melting of the lower crust. Combined with regional geological data, the subduction-related granitoids in the Douling Group, together with the Tuwushan A-type granite with an age of 725 Ma and contemporaneous basic dikes in the Wudang Block, provide evidence for local subduction of oceanic basins between different blocks during the rifting in the Southern Qinling in the Neoproterozoic. Thus, the coexistences of various magmatic rocks formed in different tectonic environments indicate a complicated tectonic evolution and variety of tectonic frameworks in the Qinling area in the Neoproterozoic.

Different configurations and driving voltages have been employed to investigate the effect of the wall charge on the striations in macroscopic plasma display panel (PDP) cells. The experimental results show that a discharge channel near the dielectric layer is indispensable to striation occurring in the anode area during a discharge, while the pre-accumulated charge on the dielectric layer and the surface state are not important. The origin of the striation is related only to the physical process in the cell. The dielectric layer acts as a charge collector during a PDP discharge.

Radiation techniques (electron-beam, γ-ray, ete.) are usually used f or improving the compatibility between polymer and ingredients in composite materials. Electron-beam pre-irradiation has been used for the first time to enhance the flame retardance of EVA copolymer. Efforts are being made to decline the flammability for EPDM copolymer by EB technique and remarkable reduction has been attained through a series of treatments: pre-irradiation, grafting and saponification.

RF plasma of CF 4 /CH 4 (>5) was subject to further investigation by XPS and the contact angle method. An attempt has been made aiming at distinguishing the mechanistic aspects of PET surfaces exposed to CF 4 /CH 4 plasmas. It follows that in addition to region 3 (83.3-0.0% CF 4 ) there are two regions within the range of 83.3-100% CF 4 . Region 1 (100-96.8% CF 4 ) is a region of etching/fluorination predominated and region 2 (96.8-83.3% CF 4 ) is polymerization predominated. For a complete description of the entire process the fluorination (or grafting, implantation) should be incorporated into the CAP model. The homogeneity along depth of the surface layers can be intuitively observed with the help of the angle-dependent XPS, which turns out to be of great importance in comparison with the sampling depth of the contact angle technique under various experimental conditions

Diversified proteins were separated from hen egg yolk by ammonium sulphate rapid fractionation, and pure low-density lipoprotein (LDL) was obtained after filtrating through Sephadex G-200 chromatography. After the qualitative detection ofSodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), we discovered that LDL consists of five major apoproteins. The results show that: (1) the CH2 presents asymmetric stretching and symmetric stretching mode, (2) thederivative of cholesterol C=C stretching vibration is at 1652.07 cm-1 in the Raman spectrum, and (3) a-helix bands in apolipoprotein is at 1655.12 cm-1 in the infrared spectrum. The results also suggest that laser raman and infrared spectrum analysis on LDL can provide useful information for studying the LDL structure. Bioradar is a novel kind of radar combining the technology of radar and biomedical engineering. It can detect vital signals (such as breath, heartbeat, movement, etc.) in a certain distance through the nonmetal substances (such as brick walls, rubble, etc.) without using electrodes or sensors. However, multi-stationary-human-target identifying and locating has not been resolved yet. Based on the Ultra Wide-band (UWB) bioradar, we developed a method combining biomedical signal processing and space-frequency analysis to distinguish two stationary human subjects in different distances and to identify the location of each human subject. Experiments were done to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method. In 86 data sets the accuracy of distinguishing two stationary subjects reached 73%. This method may serve as a basis for further studies in developing appropriate 2-Dimension locating image reconstruction models via multi-antenna (static) UWB radar.

The flame-retarding mechanism of polypropylene containing a chlorine system has been explored by XPS(ESCA). A wealth of information, such as chemical states of chlorine and antimony in the surface as a function of temperature were obtained, some of which was obtained previously by techniques associated with the bulk properties. In contrast to the thermal analysis techniques, a discussion of the synergistic effect between chlorine and antimony was put forward on the basis of Cl −1 in the surface. The instability of metallic antimony in the surface was also revealed by the absence of Sb 0 from Sb3d spectra. It should be emphasized that XPS, properly used, may be of great importance in formulation design, i.e. the match of polymers and flame retardants for technological control.

In this article, our study of non-contact method via radar for monitoring the heart and respiratory rates of human subject is reported. The system is constructed which synchronously detects the electrocardiogram signals by the electrocardiograph and the ballistocardiogram signals by the non-contact life parameter detecting technology. Also, the detected signals are analyzed respectively in the time and frequency domain. The results show that the cycle of the ballistocardiogram is obvious in time domain and that the rhythm of the two kinds of signals keeps consistent. And their characteristic points in frequency domain are also the same. The clinical medicine usefulness of ballistocardiogram detected by the non-contact technology is approved and the credible evidence for the succeeding signal analysis and the clinical application is provided. Furthermore, the characters of the heartbeat signal detected by our system and the reasons for that are also discussed in detail in our paper.

It has been proved that the vital signs can be detected via radar. To better identify the life parameters such as respiration and heartbeat, a novel method combined with several signal processing techniques is presented. Firstly, to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the life signals, the signal accumulation technique by FFT is used. Then, to restrain the interferences produced by moving objects, a dual filtering algorithm (DFA) which is able to remove the interferences by tracing the interfering spectral peaks is proposed. Finally, the wavelet transform is applied to separate the heartbeat from the respiration signal. The method cannot only help to automatically detect the existence of human beings effectively, but also identifying the parameters like respiration, heartbeat, and body-moving signals significantly. Experimental results demonstrated that the method is very promising in identifying the life parameters via radar.

In order to avoid the disadvantage of low resolution of fixed-kernel time-frequency(TF) analysis, adaptive TF analysis is employed to classify cardiac murmurs Including systolic murmur, diastolic murmur. The analysis results of several cases of heart disease with different cardiac murmurs indicate that the TF spectrum based on adaptive cone-kernel distribution is capable to show the power spectrum of cardiac murmurs in TF plane and the dynamic course. The TF resolution is high and the characteristics of different kinds of murmurs is obvious.
