Background. NKG2A (KLRC1) belongs to the NKG2 family, which has been shown to affect the activity of natural killer (NK) cells and CD8T cells. However, a comprehensive biological analysis and exploration of NKG2A in different cancers is lacking and this needs to be further investigated. Methods. A comprehensive pan-cancer analysis of NKG2A was performed based on multiple databases. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Genotype–Tissue Expression (GTEx) databases were used to analyze the expression profile of NKG2A in pan-cancer. The relevance of NKG2A to the prognosis of different cancers was assessed using Kaplan–Meier survival analysis. In addition, we explored the correlation between NKG2A expression and gene mutations, pathological staging, tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TIICs), DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) genes, tumor mutation burden (TMB), microsatellite instability (MSI), mismatch repair (MMR), and immune checkpoints (ICPs). Finally, the expression levels of NKG2A in several cancer cell lines were verified by qRT-PCR. Results. Pan-cancer comprehensive analysis showed that NKG2A expression levels were significantly different between multiple cancers and corresponding normal tissues. The differential expression of NKG2A was related to the prognosis and pathological staging of patients with multiple cancers, and was closely related to the excessive infiltration of immune cells and the regulation of ICP genes in the tumor microenvironment (TME). In addition, TMB, MSI, MMR, and DNMT genes in many cancer types are also affected by NKG2A expression. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) showed that NKG2A was associated with multiple immune-related functions and pathways in malignant tumors. qRT-PCR results showed that NKG2A was underexpressed in liver, gastric, and colon cancer cell lines compared to normal cells, which was consistent with bioinformatics analysis. Background: Osteoid osteoma is a benign osteogenic tumor that occurs mostly in the femoral stem, while osteoid osteoma occurring in the lumbar vertebral body is a relatively rare case. To minimize treatment‐related complications, a computer‐assisted navigation fully visualized spinal endoscopy was used. Ultimately, the pathology was diagnosed as osteoid osteoma. Case Presentation: We report a 19‐year‐old adult male with low back pain that worsened at night and CT, MRI imaging showed an abnormal signal shadow at the posterior margin of the lumbar vertebral body. Due to the proximity of the lesion to the spinal canal and adjacent to the nerve roots, it was difficult to precisely localize the lesion by purely endoscopic or open procedures, and if necessary, the resection of surrounding tissues had to be expanded, causing unnecessary damage to the surrounding tissues. Therefore, we choose computer‐assisted navigation fully visualized spinal endoscopy to perform the treatment. Conclusion: In this case, we report an osteoid osteoma that occurs less frequently in the lumbar vertebral body. Using computer‐assisted navigation with fully visualized spinal endoscopy, we successfully resected the osteoid osteoma at the posterior margin of the L3 vertebral body preoperatively by computer‐planned path with intraoperative visualization endoscopy, minimizing the damage to spinal stability. Computer‐assisted navigation with visualization endoscopy provides a more precise and minimally invasive approach to the treatment of osteoid osteoma of the spine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Floral reversion is a process in which differentiated floral organs revert back to vegetative organs. Although this phenomenon has been described for decades, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we found that immature switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) inflorescences can revert to neonatal shoots when incubated on a basal medium with benzylaminopurine. We used anatomical and histological methods to verify that these shoots were formed from floret primordia through flower reversion. To further explore the gene regulation of floral reversion in switchgrass, the transcriptome of reversed, unreversed, and uncultured immature inflorescences were analyzed and 517 genes were identified as participating in flower reversion. Annotation using non-redundant databases revealed that these genes are involved in plant hormone biosynthesis and signal transduction, starch and sucrose metabolism, DNA replication and modification, and other processes crucial for switchgrass flower reversion. When four of the genes were overexpressed in Arabidopsis thaliana, vegetative growth was facilitated and reproductive growth was inhibited in transgenic plants. This study provides a basic understanding of genes regulating the floral transition in switchgrass and will promote the research of floral reversion and flower maintenance.
