Anisoscelis (Bitta) alipes Gurin-Mneville (Figs. 910, 23) Anisoscelis alipes Gurin-Mneville, 1831: 75. Anisoscelis flavolineatus Blanchard, 1849: 21, pl. 6. Nov. syn. Diagnosis. Head pale yellow; pronotum tricolored, with posterolateral and posterior border yellow, a narrow black transverse band between humeri, the rest pale to dark orange; scutellum black with lateral margins, middle longitudinal stripe and apex yellow; clavus and corium dark reddish brown to black with claval and corial veins, costal border and apical margin pale yellow; hemelytral membrane dark brown; connexivum dark brown to black, outer border yellow; dorsal abdominal segments dark brown, anterior border and irregular spots lateral to midline yellow; antennal segment I black, inner surface yellow, segments IIIV black; labial segments (apex of IV brown) pale yellowish orange; coxae pale yellow; trochanters pale yellow with two black longitudinal stripes; femora pale yellow with two complete black longitudinal stripes; fore and middle tibiae yellow with two complete longitudinal stripes; hind tibiae with inner expansion dark reddish with distal border black and proximal angle and middle fourth pale orange; outer expansion dark reddish with proximal and distal third dark to pale yellow and middle third with transverse dark to pale yellow stripe plus 5 to 8 irregular black spots; tarsi pale yellow. Labium nearly reaching posterior margin of abdominal sternite III; humeral angles subacute, directed backwards. Parameres. Figs. 910. Notes. Anisoscelis (Bitta) alipes Gurin-Mneville (1831) was described from Mxico without any specific locality and has been an enigma and several authors just mention the name on general papers or catalogues (Packauskas 2010). The species was nicely described and illustrated and is closely related to A. (Bitta) flavolineata Blanchard (1849) which was cited from Colombia, Panama and Venezuela and also nicely illustrated. Both species match on all characters including the posterior lobe of pronotum tricolored with posterolateral borders and posterior border yellow, a black transverse band between humeri,, and the rest dark orange; clavus and corium black with claval, corial veins, costal, apical margins and head dorsally yellow. Due to these strong similarities A. (B.) flavolineatus is here considered a junior synonym of A. (B.) alipes. Having examined and collected extensive Mexican material of Anisoscelis spp., in several localities, I have never found a single specimen of A. (Bitta) alipes, I therefore consider the original data being a result of a mistaken label. Distribution. Colombia: Bogot, Cauca, and Nova Granada. Mxico (erroneous locality). Panama. Venezuela. Biological notes. Collected on Passiflora spp. Diagnosis. This taxon is similar to Anisoscelis (Bitta) affinis Westwood and A. (B.) podalicus (Brailovsky and Mayorga) having the the posterior lobe of pronotal disk never tricolored, usually with the posterolateral borders and posterior border yellow and dorsal and ventral surface without metallic bluish-green reflections. In A. (B.) podalicus the femora are yellow with two complete dark brown longitudinal stripes and antennal segments IIII dark brown. In the other two species the antennal segments IIIII are pale yellowish orange to castaneous orange. In A. (B.) affinis the femora are entirely yellowish orange, with claval and corial veins unicolorous with the reddish to dark orange surface; in A. (B.) luridus the femora are yellowish orange with short dark brown longitudinal stripe restricted to the anterior third, and the claval and corial veins are pale yellow, contrasting with the reddish castaneous surface., Published as part of Brailovsky, Harry, 2016, The genus Anisoscelis Latreille (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Coreidae: Coreinae: Anisoscelini): new species, taxonomical arrangements, distributional records and key, pp. 195-210 in Zootaxa 4144 (2) on pages 205-207, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4144.2.3, http://zenodo.org/record/272052

Head pale to dark yellowish castaneous; antennal segment I brown with inner face pale yellow, segments IIIII brown with basal and apical joint yellow, IV dark brownish castaneous with apical third paler; pronotum dark castaneous, punctures darker, calli pale castaneous, anterolateral borders black; scutellum dark castaneous and apically yellow; clavus and corium dark castaneous with costal and apical margins yellow; hemelytral membrane pale brown, veins darker; connexivum yellow, inner margin brown; abdomen dorsally black with metallic bluish-green reflections; ventrally pale yellow; labial segments III pale yellow, IIIIV pale castaneous; coxae, trochanters, femora, fore tibiae, middle tibiae and tarsi yellow; inner expansion of hind tibiae dark reddish with basal and wide transverse stripe close to midline yellow; outer expansion dark reddish with proximal and distal third yellow; inner angle of posterior margin of mesopleura with black to dark brown discoidal spot close to anterior lobe of metathoracic peritreme; labium reaching posterior border of abdominal sternite III; humeral angles subacute, directed backward. Distribution. Stl (1854) described A. discolor from Taiti? (sic) and later was recorded from Ecuador (Campos 1925). The genus has an exclusive Neotropical distribution therefore, I consider that the original data was a result of a mistaken label. Ecuador: Guayaquil (Campos 1925, Packauskas 2010). Type material examined. Holotype female: Taiti (sic), Kinb. (NHRS). Material examined. New records. 1 male, Ecuador, Manabi, Pedernales, 24-I-1999, leg. G. Onore (UNAM). 1 female, Ecuador, Los Rios Quevedo, 2-V-1986, leg. D. H. Habeck (FSCA). Biological notes. Head wider than long, nearly quadrate with the specimen in dorsal view; dorsal surface finely granulate; tylus slightly projecting beyond juga; antenniferous tubercle prominent, projecting distinctly anteriorly of tylus, widely separated, armed laterally with a stout prominent spine; antennae relatively long, slender; antennal segment I cylindrical, slightly curved, more than three times as long as head; segments IIIII cylindrical, IV fusiform; antennal segment I the longest, III the shortest, and IV longer than II; preocellar pit deep; ocelli close to eyes, on hypothetical line drawn between posterior borders of eyes; ocellar tubercle protuberant, conspicuously raised; eyes protruding, widely hemispherical, in lateral view globose, with upper margin located slightly above level of frons and vertex; postocular tubercle exposed, granulate; head in dorsal view with short longitudinal sulcus restricted to middle third of frons; bucculae short, subtriangular, with anterior angle elongate, subacute, not extending beyond middle third of eyes, meeting posteriorly and closed; rostrum reaching middle third of mesosternum; rostral segment I stout, reaching posterior third of head. Thorax. Pronotum wider than long, slightly declivent, densely punctate; collar distinct; anterior, posterior, and posterolateral margins smooth; anterolateral margins smooth, except anterior third finely crenulate; humeral angles expanded laterally into short, stout spine; triangular process absent; calli convex, barely raised above pronotal disk, smooth; anterior angle rounded. Scutellum longer than wide; transversely striate; apex subacute. Mesosternum with light, almost obsolete longitudinal mesial depression; metasternum flat, smooth; metathoracic scent gland auricle closer to ventral margin of metapleuron, bilobed; anterior lobe more developed than posterior lobe; metapleuron lacking lateral process. Legs. Fore and middle femora ventrally armed with one row of stout spines; hind femur incrassate, curved, dorsally finely tuberculate, and ventrally armed with double row of stout, large, and acute spines; fore femur almost twice as long as head; middle femur reaching posterior border of abdominal sternite III; hind femur reaching or slightly extending beyond abdominal sternite V; tibiae sulcate; hind tibiae flattened, curved, inner face armed with one row of stout acute spines. Hemelytra. Macropterous, extending beyond apex of last abdominal segment; clavus and corium densely punctate. Abdomen. Posterior angle of connexival segments VIVII with very short spine; abdominal spiracles closer to lateral than to anterior margin. Male genital capsule. Posteroventral edge with short expansion near midline; lateral angles straight (Fig. 6). Paramere short, elongate and apically subacute (Figs 1314). Etymology. Named after Eric Guilbert, distinguished French heteropterist and curator of the MNHN. Differential diagnosis. Guilbertocoris gen. nov. (Fig. 1), appears to be related to Moronopelios Brailovsky, 1988 (Figs 25) in having the antenniferous tubercles laterally armed with a spine, body length between 19 to 22 mm, humeral angles sharply angulate, antennal segment III cylindrical, not dilated, fore and middle femora ventrally armed, and hind femur dorsally barely tuberculate and ventrally armed with double row of stout, large and acute spines. Head nondeclivent, nearly prognant, wider than long; tylus almost reaching middle third of antennal segment I; vertex moderately convex; antenniferous tubercle short, truncate; antennal segment I broad, rounded, II and III cylindrical, IV fusiform; antennal segment I the shortest, II the longest, and IV longer than III; ocelli close to eyes; eyes hemispheric, protruding, set on short broad lateral extensions; maxillary plates and genae without modifications; buccula short, apically rounded, not extending beyond base of antennal segment I; labium reaching posterior margin of mesosternum (Fig 3). Thorax. Pronotum shallowy constricted, divided into two lobes by a tiny transverse impression; anterior lobe largest and wider; posterior lobe shorter and narrower; anterolateral margins evenly convex, broadest at level of calli; posterior margin straight; calli almost flat; anterior and humeral angles rounded (Fig 34). Mesosternum with deep median furrow; metathoracic scent gland auricle large, elongate, enlarged at distal end, ear-like, and moderately curving posteriorly; evaporative area transversally furrowed, not extending to upper margin of metapleuron (Fig 6). Legs. Fore coxal cavities intermediate between types A and B (Slater 1979, fig. 3), posteriorly open, separated by a simple narrow prosternal projection not entirely reaching the metasternum; all trochanters terminating into ventrodistal triangular subspinose dark axial projection adpreesed to the femora; fore femur moderately incrassate, armed below and distally with two spines, one large, robust and apically acute, the other one tiny and acute (Fig 5); middle and hind femora moderately incrassate, unarmed; fore tibiae slightly enlarged distally, not fossorial; inner face of each tibiae with two rows of tiny spines, irregularly distributed. Combination of a personal name Barrera (Ernesto Barrera) with Blissus (type genus of the family Blissidae); gender masculine. Diagnosis. Barrerablissus gen. nov., is distinguished by having the dorsal surface of pronotum completely shining, and lacking of pruinose areas; ocelli present; fore coxal cavities open; mesosternum with deep median furrow; metathoracic scent gland auricle elongate, moderately curving posteriorly; fore femur ventrally armed with two spines, one large and robust, the other tiny and acute; inner face of each tibiae with two rows of tiny spines irregularly distributed; micropterous, with the wings reduced to a pair of minute, tumid pads; and abdominal sterna lacking a stridulitrum. This new genus is similar to Aulacoblissus Slater (1986), Heteroblissus Barber (1954), Howdenoblissus Stys (1991), Napoblissus Brailovsky and Barrera (2012) and Praetorblissus Slater (1966) in having extreme microptery to apterous condition and fore coxal cavities open. Barrerablissus gen. nov., share with Heteroblissus and Praetorblissus in having ocelli; absent in the other three genera. Praetorblissus is distinguished by having all femora miltispinose, and the metathoracic scent gland auricle large, apically almost spatulate, and distally curving anteriorly. In Barrerablissus the fore femora is armed with two spines, the unarmed middle and hind femora, and the metathoracic scent gland auricle is large, elongate, enlarged at distal end, and moderately curving posteriorly. Heteroblissus can be distinguished by the prominent stridulitrum on sterna III to VI, which are absent in Barrerablissus., Published as part of Brailovsky, Harry, 2015, A new genus and species of Micropterous Blissidae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea) from Ecuador, pp. 583-588 in Zootaxa 4028 (4) on pages 583-584, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4028.4.9, http://zenodo.org/record/234703, {"references":["Slater, J. This new species is related to N. spinulus Brailovsky & Barrera, 2003 in having the humeral angles strongly expanded (Figs 910). In N. spinulus the humeral angles are directed outward and apically rounded, the triangular processes of posterolateral angles of pronotum are small, broad, and apically subacute, and the color of pronotal disk pale orange with punctures chestnut orange, whereas in N. persuasus sp. nov., the humeral angles are strongly expanded with a medium-sized spine directed outward, clearly upward and apically subacute, the triangular processes are elongate, apically almost rounded, and the pronotal disk is yellow, punctures castaneous and anterolateral and posterolateral margins, and humeral angles yellow with olive-green to pale green sheen (Figs 12). The male genital capsule differs in the general shape (Figs 36). Etymology. The species name is the Latin adjective persuasus (a, um), meaning persuasive, convincing, believable. Distribution. Known only from French Guiana., Published as part of Brailovsky, Harry, 2015, The genus Nematopus (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Coreidae) of French Guiana with a description of one new species, pp. 39-45 in Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae (suppl.)
