Introduction: The preparedness of the healthcare system to address emergency situations is contingent on the inclination of healthcare personnel. Nursing students can serve as valuable resources to supplement the workforce during major incidents and disasters. This study investigated the facilitators and barriers of nursing students' willingness to respond to disasters at the Alborz University of Medical Sciences in 2022. Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 234 nursing students were recruited using convenience sampling. A deductive-inductive questionnaire was developed and distributed through an online self-administered survey comprising demographic information and questions on barriers, facilitators, various disaster scenarios, preferred activities, and reasons for pursuing a nursing career. Results: The mean willingness scores of nursing students in response to various disasters were as follows: 3.15 for natural disasters, 2.60 for man-made disasters, 2.94 for pandemics, and 3.32 overall. Among the disaster scenarios, the earthquake response obtained the highest willingness score, while infectious disease epidemics received the lowest score. The most and least willingness to perform activities during disaster response were related to bedside care and participation in patients' personal hygiene, respectively. Key determinants of participation included the possibility of immunization and concerns for family safety. Conclusion: The findings indicated that nursing students are generally willing to assist as members of the healthcare team during disasters. However, the willingness to respond to infectious disease epidemics and man-made disasters was below the norm. Concerns about family health and the risk of disease transmission were identified as primary barriers. Fatigue is one of the menaces that contribute to the rising number of construction-related accidents and fatalities in projects. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify several strategies that can be adopted to mitigate fatigue in construction projects. This was achieved through a quantitative study. A questionnaire was the main instrument for data collection in the quantitative study. The study revealed that frustration/depression or work pressure is one of the significant causes of fatigue in construction projects. Fatigue risk management education and bonding among workers are some of the underlying strategies that can be used to mitigate the identified causes. Depending on the nature of the fatigue causative elements, the study further established that some mitigation strategies are more effective than others. Therefore, further studies should be conducted by prospective researchers on a range of attributes that may influence the success of fatigue mitigation strategies in construction projects. Background: As the most rapidly increasing neurodegenerative disease worldwide, Parkinson's disease is highly relevant to society. Successful treatment requires active patient participation. Patient education has been successfully implemented for many chronic diseases, such as diabetes and could also provide people with Parkinson's disease with skills to manage the disease better and to participate in shared decision making. Material and methods: To prepare the implementation of a concept for patient education for people with Parkinson's disease, a structured consensus study was conducted and a pilot project formatively evaluated. The structured consensus study included experts from all over Germany. It consisted of two online surveys and an online consensus conference. The formative evaluation was conducted as three focus groups. Transcripts were evaluated using content-structuring qualitative content analysis. Results: From the consensus procedure 59 consented statements emerged, mainly regarding the contents of a patient school and a group size of 6–8 persons. Only two statements could not be consented. The formative evaluation detected a tendency towards a positive attitude for a digital training format and a very positive evaluation of the contents. Discussion: Overall, important recommendations for a patient school can be drawn from this study. The objectives of this study are: first, to identify the types of edible flowers which can be used in plating; second, to recognize the knowledge and cognition of the Hotel Management students at STP AMPTA Yogyakarta on the usage of edible plant garnishes for plating. This research is conducted in a qualitative descriptive statistical method. The population and the sample of this research are 30 students of STP AMPTA Yogyakarta majoring in Hotel Management. The sample was collected using a purposive sampling method with the criteria of STP AMPTA students in Hotel Management study program who were taking food processing practice 2 course or students who were in 3rd semester in 2022/2023 academic year, with the total of the respondent of 30 students. The methods of data collecting included in-depth interview, observation, documentation, and literature review. The in-depth interview was conducted with the lecturers (chef) in food processing practice class at STP AMPTA in regard to the types of edible flower used for garnishes. The method used in analysing the data is by describing or presenting the data that had been collected without intending to draw a conclusion that is generally applicable. The data collected is the students' knowledge and cognition of edible flowers. The result of the study found that the types of edible plant garnishes used in STP AMPTA Yogyakarta are edible leaf (red sorel, nasturtium, pea tendril) and edible flower (viola and pansy). Beside that, the knowledge and cognition indicator revealed the average of variative responses from positive to negative. The average positive responses indicated that they acknowledge the types of edible garnish plants and are confident in putting edible plant garnishes in their plating. Meanwhile, the average of negative responses implicated the students' lack of information and understanding of flavour and texture of edible plant garnishes they used. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ethical and sustainable thinking is an important competence in the engineering education to support students' abilities to act and perform in a responsible manner in corporate contexts, and consequently contribute to a sustainable future. This paper investigates engineering students' attitudes towards ethical and sustainable thinking focusing on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles in the context of entrepreneurship courses as a part of larger research project. Engineering students from a Finnish and an Estonian university (N = 342) responded to a self-assessment survey. The students' attitudes towards CSR principles were assessed both on the enterprise level and the individual level as expectations of potential future employees. The findings indicate that engineering students acknowledge the need to take into account responsible thinking and that it is important for enterprises to be both socially and environmentally responsible in their activities. The self-assessment tool of ethical and sustainable thinking associated with the entrepreneurship competence model and CSR principles can be helpful in practice when university teachers wish to support and assess their students' attitudes towards CSR principles among other entrepreneurship competencies when creating new course content. Patient education has a critical role in the management of pain. There is considerable heterogeneity in patient education for females with persistent pelvic pain (PPP), and it remains unclear what is considered best clinical practice. Therefore, this systematic review identified and summarised recommendations for patient education in the management of benign gynaecological and urological conditions associated with PPP, as endorsed by international guidelines. Academic and relevant guideline databases were searched from inception to May 2022. Included guidelines were those for the management of benign gynaecological and urological conditions associated with PPP in adult females published in English, of any publication date, and endorsed by a professional organisation or society. Two independent reviewers screened 3097 records; 17 guidelines were included in the review. Guideline quality was assessed using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II (AGREE-II) tool. Recommendations were pooled using descriptive synthesis. Persistent pelvic pain guideline quality was generally poor. Three guidelines were classified as "excellent" (The NICE, RANZCOG, and ESHRE endometriosis guidelines) and therefore recommended for use. Eleven guidelines (64.7%) recommended patient education for females with PPP. Recommendations for education content were variable, however most frequently covered treatment strategies and pelvic pain diagnoses. For education delivery, the most frequent recommendations were for support groups and written/printed materials. Further research into tailored education interventions is needed for females with PPP. Background: Diabetes self-management (DSM) helps people with diabetes to become actors in their disease. Deprived populations are particularly affected by diabetes and are less likely to have access to these programmes. DSM implementation in primary care, particularly in a multi-professional primary care practice (MPCP), is a valuable strategy to promote care access for these populations. In Rennes (Western France), a DSM programme was designed by a MPCP in a socio-economically deprived area. The study objective was to compare diabetes control in people who followed or not this DSM programme. Method: The historical cohort of patients who participated in the DSM programme at the MPCP between 2017 and 2019 (n = 69) was compared with patients who did not participate in the programme, matched on sex, age, diabetes type and place of the general practitioner's practice (n = 138). The primary outcome was glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) change between 12 months before and 12 months after the DSM programme. Secondary outcomes included modifications in diabetes treatment, body mass index, blood pressure, dyslipidaemia, presence of microalbuminuria, and diabetes retinopathy screening participation. Results: HbA1c was significantly improved in the exposed group after the programme (p < 0.01). The analysis did not find any significant between-group difference in socio-demographic data, medical history, comorbidities, and treatment adaptation. Conclusions: These results, consistent with the international literature, promote the development of DSM programmes in primary care settings in deprived areas. The popularity of contracted family doctor services in China has been growing in recent years, but community-family-doctor-based type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) intervention programs have yet to be adequately studied. This study was to evaluate the short- and long-term effects of community-family-doctor-based self-management interventions for T2DM and to explore strategies for long-term glycemic control. This was a randomized controlled trial. A total of 144 eligible participants were randomly assigned to intervention and control groups. The control group received only routine community diabetes care, and the intervention group received community-family-doctor-based interventions involving the same standard of care. The interventions lasted for 3 months, and the follow-up was continued for 15 months. Intention-to-treat analysis and generalized estimation equations were then used to determine the short- and long-term effects of the interventions on glycated hemoglobin (HbA 1c), diabetes self-management, and medication adherence. There were statistically significantly greater improvements in all aspects of the intervention group after 3 months of intervention. Compared with baseline, changes in the attitude (β = 0.384, 95% confidence interval [CI; 0.194, 0.574], P < 0.001), practice (β = 1.751, 95% CI [0.762, 2.739], P = 0.001), and knowledge, attitudes, practice total scores (β = 2.338, 95% CI [0.682, 3.995], P = 0.006) of patients in the intervention group were statistically significant after 15 months, and the HbA 1c (8.19 ± 1.73%), knowledge (16.42 ± 3.21), and medication adherence (5.53 ± 1.76) scores were slightly better than those at baseline, although not statistically significant (P > 0.05). T2DM self-management interventions based on community family doctors improved patients' HbA 1c , diabetes self-management, and medication adherence, did not do so significantly in the long term. Decolonising the curriculum is a global imperative that takes different forms and urgency depending on the context. Developments across the globe such as BlackLivesMatter and student responses to the pandemic and online learning have raised new questions about the curriculum – critically questioning higher education institutions' plans about not only providing access to resources but about the (cultural) authority of curricula, pedagogical and research practices that are still dominated by Western discourses. This paper examines three experiences of curriculum decolonisation in cultural policy and management, an applied subject that has culture as its object, in three different contexts, Serbia, Puerto Rico and South Africa: namely how the pursuit of a pluriversal knowledge ecology found expression in the curriculum, content and pedagogical practices deployed to deliver locally relevant education; and how educators resolved the ontological and epistemic discontinuities between the standard disciplinary canon and local realities to embed and contextualise the discipline. Background: Self-management education programmes are cost-effective in helping people with type 2 diabetes manage their diabetes, but referral and attendance rates are low. This study reports on the effectiveness of the Embedding Package, a programme designed to increase type 2 diabetes self-management programme attendance in primary care. Methods: Using a cluster randomised design, 66 practices were randomised to: (1) a wait-list group that provided usual care for nine months before receiving the Embedding Package for nine months, or (2) an immediate group that received the Embedding Package for 18 months. 'Embedders' supported practices and self-management programme providers to embed programme referral into routine practice, and an online 'toolkit' contained embedding support resources. Patient-level HbA1c (primary outcome), programme referral and attendance data, and clinical data from 92,977 patients with type 2 diabetes were collected at baseline (months − 3–0), step one (months 1–9), step 2 (months 10–18), and 12 months post-intervention. An integrated ethnographic study including observations, interviews, and document analysis was conducted using interpretive thematic analysis and Normalisation Process Theory. Results: No significant difference was found in HbA1c between intervention and control conditions (adjusted mean difference [95% confidence interval]: -0.10 [-0.38, 0.18] mmol/mol; -0.01 [-0.03, 0.02] %). Statistically but not clinically significantly lower levels of HbA1c were found in people of ethnic minority groups compared with non-ethnic minority groups during the intervention condition (-0.64 [-1.08, -0.20] mmol/mol; -0.06% [-0.10, -0.02], p = 0.004), but not greater self-management programme attendance. Twelve months post-intervention data showed statistically but not clinically significantly lower HbA1c (-0.56 [95% confidence interval: -0.71, -0.42] mmol/mol; -0.05 [-0.06, -0.04] %; p < 0.001), and higher self-management programme attendance (adjusted odds ratio: 1.13; 95% confidence interval: 1.02, 1.25; p = 0.017) during intervention conditions. Themes identified through the ethnographic study included challenges for Embedders in making and sustaining contact with practices and providers, and around practices' interactions with the toolkit. Conclusions: Barriers to implementing the Embedding Package may have compromised its effectiveness. Statistically but not clinically significantly improved HbA1c among ethnic minority groups and in longer-term follow-up suggest that future research exploring methods of embedding diabetes self-management programmes into routine care is warranted. Aims: Attendance at diabetes self‐management education and support (DSMES) programmes for type 2 diabetes is associated with positive outcomes, but the impact on some outcomes is inconsistent and tends to decline over time. Understanding the active ingredients of effective programmes is essential to optimise their effectiveness. This study aimed to (1) retrospectively identify behaviour change techniques (BCTs), mechanisms of action (MoAs) and intervention functions in two DSMES programmes, the Community‐Oriented Diabetes Education and the Diabetes Education and Self‐Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed and (2) examine variation in content between programmes. Methods: A multiple case study approach, including a documentary analysis of the programme materials, was conducted. Materials were coded using the BCT Taxonomy v1, the Mode of Delivery Ontology v1 and the Intervention Source Ontology v1. The Behaviour Change Wheel guidance and the Theory and Techniques tool were used to identify intervention functions and MoAs. Programme stakeholders provided feedback on the findings. Results: Thirty‐four BCTs were identified across the programmes, with 22 common to both. The identified BCTs were frequently related to 'goals and planning', 'feedback and monitoring' and 'natural consequences'. BCTs were linked with 15 MoAs, predominantly related to reflective motivation ('beliefs about capabilities' and 'beliefs about consequences') and psychological capability ('knowledge'). BCTs served six intervention functions, most frequently 'education', 'enablement' and 'persuasion'. Conclusions: Although both programmes included several BCTs, some BCTs were rarely or never used. The considerable proliferation of serious games (SG) in management education necessitates an academic foundation grounded in the concepts and practice of leadership, Flow, learning and development theory. Going beyond addressing the benefits of SG, this study is the first to demonstrate the successful use of SG in two areas: (a) teaching Flow theory within management studies via dedicated software designed to train a Flow-promoting Leadership style; and (b) showing that SG can serve as an innovative tool for measuring 29 leadership skills. The article demonstrates how non-intrusive data – collected during FLIGBY gameplay by 7931 managers globally, who made 150+ simulated leadership decisions – de facto support the process of leadership skill development. The findings show the system of relationships among the four critical Flow-promoting Leadership Skills that are needed for leading a work environment with more frequent Flow experiences. The results support educators and content developers in their quest to find optimal pathways and combinations for effectively developing skills by showing the underlying complexities of Flow and Leadership. Background: Disasters are events that bring with them effects that contribute to the disruption of the normality of a population and thus highlight the vulnerabilities of the health system. In Mariana and Brumadinho, the collapse of the dam of ore tailings brought with it several impacts that were felt in the short term and will be felt in the medium and long term. And that by being intensely intertwined with issues of economic and productive nature, has as its meaning an uninterrupted result of its activities. Methods: Through the DATASUS database, two specific variables were chosen to perform the analysis: the approved amount and the approved value. For this research, a methodological device, the segmented regression line, was used to observe the influences that the disasters that occurred in Mariana and Brumadinho had on the ambulatory health systems. Results: The results of the segmented regression line show that, with Mariana, the amount approved continued to grow throughout the period, which shows that there was no change because of the disaster. There was a reduction in spending. In Brumadinho, regarding the amount approved, there was an upward trend in the disaster's month, which did not change immediately afterwards, and regarding expenditure, the growth pattern was maintained in all three periods. Corroborating this data, the relative and absolute base elements show an increase in the amount approved and in the number of services provided at various posts compared with Minas Gerais. Conclusions: Based on the findings, it was possible to understand that although disasters exert an influence that may have some effect on the health system, the lack of significance sometimes cannot be interpreted as a lack of impact on the disaster. Purpose: For sustainable strategies to be developed in business schools, it is essential to understand which sustainability drivers and barriers are identified by academic managers and coordinators in the implementation of sustainable practices. In this scenario, the study aims to understand the barriers and possible drivers for the implementation of sustainability practices in Brazilian business schools. The subjects are managers and coordinators of business schools that are part of the Principles for Responsible Executive Education Network – Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Chapter Brazil/UN. Design/methodology/approach: Descriptive research with a qualitative approach was conducted to achieve this objective. The study included academic managers, responsible for the general management of academic and administrative activities and coordinators, responsible for supervising and coordinating academic activities in a specific area, of schools that are part of PRME Chapter Brazil (interviews). For data analysis, the content analysis technique was used. Findings: Taking into account the three pillars of sustainability (economic, environmental and social) as categories of analysis, as well as management, curriculum and teaching as subcategories, the study identified 10 barriers and 12 drivers. Originality/value: The results reveal that both the barriers and the drivers are supported by the social pillar, which focuses on the academic community and society as a whole. The aim of this study is to evaluate the scope of management education within macro social work programs in the U.S. and to contrast this with similar nonprofit management education programs across various disciplines. This comparison aims to shed light on the strengths and weaknesses of management education in social work programs. For this purpose, a thorough list of macro-focused MSW degree programs in the U.S. was compiled using the CSWE database. We examined 521 courses from 86 MSW programs with a macro focus. These courses were analyzed and their content compared with that of nonprofit management education programs in other fields. Our findings reveal that while MSW programs in macro practice emphasize personal and interpersonal management skills, they often overlook crucial management tools like fundraising, marketing, philanthropy, and economics. Consequently, it is recommended that social work educators acknowledge the critical managerial competencies needed in social work agencies and incorporate a broader range of subjects to better equip future leaders in the field. Purpose: The study aimed to capture student experience during virtual internships by identifying the facilitators and barriers during their experiential learning journey. The students were pursuing their Master's in Business Administration (MBA) program at a business school in India. The authors shed light on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the current education system, specifically experiential learning through virtual internships. Design/methodology/approach: About 38 Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted from July to September 2022 with the students of a business school located in Pune, India. Interviews were transcribed and analyzed to generate new themes for ascertaining the facilitators and barriers to virtual internships. Interpretative Phenomenology Analysis was undertaken to analyze the lived experiences of the respondents. Findings: Students viewed virtual internships positively in terms of mentor support, active learning, flexibility, and an easy onboarding process. Poor work-life balance, lack of peer learning and infrastructure issues were some of the barriers/challenges faced by the students. Practical implications: The study discusses various managerial and administrative implications. The findings help educationists design effective pedagogy by drawing insights from constructivist learning theory, where students' active role during virtual internships must be given primary attention. Corrective measures in the pedagogy can be taken while designing a virtual internship, considering the barriers found in this study. Originality/value: The themes identified in the study are a novel contribution to the growing body of knowledge on virtual experiential learning. Objectives: nearly 50% of people in developing countries suffer from extreme poverty. Consequently, a debate has emerged about the potential of ICT to improve socio-economic conditions prevailing in impoverished nations. This discussion has given rise to a burgeoning field of research known as ICT for development (ICT4D). However, most academics in the ICT4D arena do not come from developing countries, nor do they reside in these regions -- the main beneficiaries of ICT4D initiatives. This is the case of Brazil, a country characterized by significant socioeconomic disparities, where this field of study has aroused little interest among the scientific community and thus continues to be largely under-researched. Thus, the objective of this paper is to make sense of that phenomenon. Provocations: as most of the ICT4D knowledge base has been generated either by academics who are not originally from developing countries or by academics native to developing countries who currently reside in developed countries, a provocation can be made, namely, considering that ICT4D initiatives can improve the quality of life of people, why haven't Brazilian scholars prioritized research in this area? Conclusion: as a provocative paper, our main objective is to debate on the aforementioned issue. For this, we should listen to the Brazilian Academy of Management -- mainly the academics of the ANPAD's Information Management division -- to address and solve this puzzle, so that ICT4D research in Brazil can be encouraged with a view to causing a real impact on our society. Under the premise of today's socialist modernization construction, the development and progress of the country require more outstanding talents such as aspiring youth and intellectuals to participate, which puts forward higher requirements for education quality indicators and various aspects of operation. As the main institution and environment for implementing educational activities, the effectiveness of school management organization has a direct impact and even a decisive role on the quality of education. Therefore, how to improve the quality management of school education has become a hot topic in the education industry. The education quality management evaluation in higher education institutions is viewed as the multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) issue. In this paper, the interval-valued neutrosophic number cross-entropy (IVNN-CE) technique is built under interval-valued neutrosophic sets (IVNSs) based on the traditional cross-entropy technique. Then, combine traditional cross-entropy technique with IVNSs, the IVNN-CE technique is constructed for MADM under IVNSs. Finally, the numerical example for education quality management evaluation in higher education institutions was constructed and some comparisons is employed to verify advantages of IVNN-CE technique. The main contribution of this paper is constructed: (1) the cross-entropy model is extended to IVNSs; (1) the CRITIC technique is employed to construct the attribute weights under IVNSs; (3) the IVNN-CE technique is constructed to manage the MADM under IVNSs; (4) a case study about education quality management evaluation in higher education institutions is constructed to show the built technique; (5) some comparative algorithms are constructed to verify the rationality of IVNN-CE technique. This research was planned as a quasi-experimental to evaluate the effect of first aid training received by nursing students on their knowledge level of triage practices. This quasi-experimental study used a pretest-posttest design. The sample of the research consisted of 53 nursing students. The data was collected between October and December 2019 and the "Student Introduction Form" and "Information Form on the Three-Category Triage System" were used. A pre-test was administered to the students before receiving first aid training, and it was administered again after receiving disaster and first aid training for 6 weeks. The average age of the students was 21.41±1.24 years, 66% were female, and 56.6% of the students stated that they were Anatolian high school graduates. While the first aid and disaster knowledge score of nursing students before the training was 3.81 ± 1.50, this score was 5.39 ± 1.30 after the training. The difference between the students' average triage knowledge scores before and after the first aid course was found to be statistically significant (p=0.001). According to this research, it was determined that the theoretical and practical training given to nursing students during their undergraduate education positively affected the students' first aid and disaster management knowledge levels. At present, private education plays an important role in China's education system, but there are a series of problems and challenges in the management of private education. The purpose of this study is to discuss and solve the problems existing in the management of private education through the method of fuzzy logic system. Firstly, the application of fuzzy logic systems in related fields is reviewed to understand the potential and advantages of fuzzy logic systems. Then, through the analysis of the main problems in the management of private education, the root of these problems and their impact on the education system are revealed. By establishing a private education management model based on fuzzy logic system, the application and function of this model in problem analysis and decision making are demonstrated. In the analysis of the results, the accuracy and effectiveness of the fuzzy logic system in the management of private education are evaluated, and the targeted management strategies and countermeasures are put forward to solve the problems in the management of private education. School closures during the COVID-19 pandemic compromised access to essential meals for many children. In response, a public/private partnership known as the Emergency Meals-to-You program was established to deliver meals in affected rural areas of the United States. This study builds on this using a scorecard approach adapted from the United Nations Ten Essentials for Making Cities Resilient to identify and prioritize actions for strengthening food system resilience. A pilot food system resilience scorecard facilitated data collection from five workshops with professionals familiar with the program, emergency management, public health, or food systems. Data analysis and interpretation identified nine priority actions. This article explores the concept of shared leadership in disaster management, challenging the traditional idea of centralized authority. It argues that allowing partners to have operational autonomy can lead to more effective disaster response and recovery. The article emphasizes the importance of a shared vision and active participation from all stakeholders in the preparedness phase. It also suggests that leaders should actively listen to and value the contributions of their partners. This study involved the collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources, which were analysed using descriptive statistics, thematic and content analysis techniques. Findings: By assessing the strategies, tools and resources used during the course, the findings of this study show that the discipline supported the students' transformative learning towards sustainability. Research limitations/implications: This study has both theoretical and practical implications by describing and evaluating an innovative and engaging pedagogical approach to sustainable development in management education. Originality/value: The approach developed through this research provides educators and higher education institutions with innovative strategies for transformative learning towards sustainability in management education. In light of the transformative influence of technologies and innovative methodologies associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the paradigm of project management is undergoing a profound shift, prompting a re-examination of Project Management Education and Training (PMET). The escalating demand for project management expertise, juxtaposed with a scarcity of suitably qualified professionals, has yielded an increase in instances of faltering or challenging projects, thereby underscoring the amplified significance of PMET. A comprehensive assessment of the ongoing evolution of project management education and training is vital to shaping the trajectory of future educational strategies. In this context, bibliometric analysis has emerged as a pivotal tool, offering structured means to systematically present the expansive literature on PMET. This approach provides a panoramic view of the domain's development, facilitating a more informed understanding of its current contours which is paramount for crafting effective educational strategies. Employing bibliometric analysis as its methodological backbone, this study endeavors to discern the existing landscape of project management education and training. For this purpose, a comprehensive analysis was conducted on a dataset comprising 435 documents related to PMET, spanning the years 1985 to August 2023. The results of this analysis indicate that PMET publications are predominantly situated within the context of engineering education. A prominent theme that emerges from the literature is the discernible requirement for novel and forward-thinking strategies in PMET development, with a pronounced emphasis on the cultivation of soft skills and the integration of contemporary training methodologies, including gamification and simulation. In recent decades, increased attention has been given to the hierarchical nature and intrinsic power dynamics of CSO capacity building programs. In a global context, international donors tend to design and implement capacity building programs, which then prioritize donors' objectives and employ Western concepts in the Global South. This research note aims to reframe capacity building around inclusive and equal partnerships centered on civil society leaders who participate in designing and delivering capacity building programs. We propose action research as a process for co-creating contextually appropriate models that enable local ownership for capacity building and thus equip civil society to improve the lives of people in communities. We apply this approach to the Liberian case to develop a process to engage local civil society organizations in developing participatory capacity building programs that address place-based needs in non-Western contexts. Purpose: This paper aims to present the progress of the implementation of sustainability in business schools in line with the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and its principles of responsible management education. Design/methodology/approach: By analyzing the content of the Sharing of Information on Progress reports from PRME signatories, this study identified significant developments in the strategies business school use to implement sustainability. However, it seems that a framework that business schools can apply to accomplish that goal is still lacking. This paper proposes a framework that addresses four components of the integration process and stresses the important role of stakeholders. The authors discuss the results from 2021 in comparison to the results of a previous analysis of the first 100 signatories from 2010 and analyze the findings in relation to the developed framework. Findings: This study shows that business schools have improved their sustainability engagement in many areas (e.g. education offerings and teaching methods, campus practices and engaging stakeholders). However, less attention has been paid to other aspects, such as reviewing and assessing, capability development or communication, which could slow the transformation process. The authors discuss further implications of the findings for enhancing the PRME signatories' ability to implement the underrecognized aspects. In recent years, the incidence of disasters has increased worldwide due to various reasons, particularly climate change, resulting in death, injury, economic loss, and environmental damage. Recent large-scale earthquakes have reaffirmed that Turkey is a country with high disaster risk. It is possible to prevent or reduce deaths, injuries, and epidemics after disasters by planning before, during, and after disasters. For the sustainability of nursing services in disasters, executive nurses should effectively perform management functions related to planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling. This study examines the nursing services provided at a university hospital where earthquake victims were transferred following the Kahramanmaraş earthquake that impacted 11 provinces on February 6, 2023. The article analyzes the types, perspectives and trends of inclusive education management in a multifaceted manner, in particular, the experience of Western Europe today and during the last decades is analyzed. This is done with the aim of finding the most effective models or at least predicted appropriate recommendations for reforming inclusive education management. The general approach to writing the article is review-analytical with modeling elements. In this regard, the purpose of the article is to generalize the current trends in the management of inclusion in the world as a neuropedagogical principle of inclusive education in the context of management activities and to understand the theoretical conditions of reforming such management, taking into account the European experience. According to the authors, the relevance of the article is due to the contradiction between the managerial (vertical) and self-initiative (horizontal) intentions in inclusive education. As a result, it was possible to formulate a number of recommendations and find common problems and directions for the development of Ukrainian and European inclusion. The main trend that should be developed is the reduction of the management of state powers and the introduction of self-management principles based on the personal motivation of subjects of inclusion (self-directed behavior) within the most extended legal and power framework. Project management (PM) career choice is important as millions of new projects will need skilled and motivated project managers. Therefore, the younger generation must be motivated to acquire the necessary skills to deal with project complexities and dynamics. In previous research, the factors that impact students' perceptions of their learning experiences and their readiness to PM work has been investigated without examining the factors that impact the choice of a PM career. In this study our aim is to describe the intentions and motivations of business school students to pursue a PM career. Our results demonstrate that motivations such as self-development, professional growth, status and power, and technical and human skills are significantly influential in PM career choices. A safety management system may benefit General Aviation by increasing safety and reducing accident rates. This paper aims to systematically review the existing literature in targeted databases for gaps concerning general aviation safety management systems. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology provided the overall structure. Science Direct®, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University's Scholarly Commons, and the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) website were the three publicly available sources. Initial search criteria included PDF research articles (2006-2022), including the terms safety management system and general aviation. Additionally, keyword searches for the terms policy, promotion, risk management, and assurance guided the analysis. A final case review was conducted to eliminate faulty connections and false positive word matches. Bias may exist in this project due to the single author and lack of additional reviewers. However, two strategies were employed to maximally reduce unintended bias: (1) software-generated keyword searches and (2) a 1-week delay between reviews. The initial search returned 197 listings. Twenty-nine records remained after multiple rounds of elimination and review. The results suggest that general aviation participants receive minimalistic exposure to the benefits of the safety management system. Seven FAA publications showed little evidence of a safety management system within general aviation. Twenty-two research articles demonstrated a strong understanding of the safety management system's components, especially safety risk management. As a result of this review, it is recommended that the FAA explore the feasibility of incorporating additional safety management system education, awareness, and best practices. Additionally, future research should explore contributing factors related to the benefits of establishing a safety management system in general aviation operations. Objective: to reflexively understand how management and accounting decolonial academics in the Global South perceive and respond to the decolonizing curriculum agenda created in the Atlantic North within the hyper-contra-revolutionary context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Theoretical approach: we embrace a decolonizing-recolonizing perspective that challengesreaffirms theory/practice and North/South binarisms that we internalize. Method: we embrace action research based on self-criticism and reflexivity to address the experiences of privileged decolonial scholars. Results: our findings reveal important aspects related to decolonizing-recolonizing dynamics that are occurring in bodies, contexts, and academic spaces. Conclusions: our study reveals that decolonizing the management and accounting curriculum in the South is permeated by difficulties for theoretical delinking, which trigger tensions about the constitution of personal/collective being, the mobilization of intellectual/practical activism, the creation of forms of engagement internal/external to the academy, transcending the competitive/solidaristic academic action model; the construction of knowledge in extractivist/non-extractivist forms; and the materialization of pluriversal knowledge in academic/nonacademic products. We hope to encourage everyday decolonizing-recolonizing management and accounting education that goes beyond the North/South binarism and curricular reforms led by the counter-revolutionary neoliberal university and its Eurocentric business schools. Current research reveals the importance social media use has on the marketing and branding efforts of nonprofit organizations. Particularly in higher education, scholarship shows the benefits of using social media to attract prospective students, facilitate alumni donations, and communicate with and support current students. However, within this context, limited attention has been paid to the actionable insights of the branding and outreach processes of social media professionals managing these accounts for higher educational institutions (HEIs). Therefore, this study attempts to uncover how specialists managing HEI social media accounts with high levels of engagement generate and leverage social media content using grounded theory methodology. The purpose of this inductive approach was to present the specific strategies and tactics associated with the management of top-performing HEI social media accounts in order to contribute to the construction of a set of best practices and meaningful actions that can be practically incorporated by marketing professionals in higher education as well as the nonprofit sector more broadly. Additionally, findings from this research are intended to build upon the extant literature that purports the value of HEIs using social media to support their communities but does not dig into the nuance of how social media management is executed. This research aimed to develop a model for implementing the principles of Responsible Management Education (RME) into business programs to educate future business leaders. A qualitative single case study was conducted by implementing participative action research at a two-year college. The result of this research was the development of a four-step model for implementing RME aligned to a critical theory pedagogy. Our research results demonstrated that the course design elements incorporated in the two-year college as a result of the RME principles implementation increased students' positive perceptions of their cultural assets, ethics, social responsibility, and sustainability. This paper aims to explore the extent to which Globally Responsible Humanism (GRH) is embedded in the management education offered by public business schools in Egypt. We conducted semi-structured interviews with 24 management educators working at three public business schools. The findings show an absence of socio-cultural, ethical, and eco-political themes in their courses and research activities. Moreover, only five of our respondents highlight a superficial embedding of the definitions of social responsibility, sustainability, environmental awareness, and ethics in economics, accounting, and management courses. Introduction: Nurses play critical roles in disaster management and are required to demonstrate leadership by dealing with disaster events effectively. This study aimed to identify the nurse leadership indicators at each phase of disaster management. Methods: A qualitative descriptive study was conducted in two phases between November 2017 -January 2018 at two regional hospitals and one central hospital in Yogyakarta. The first phase involved semi-structured in-depth interviews with seven emergency nurses, and the second was a focus group discussions with five nurses' managers or lecturers. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data Analyze used a modified version framework method. Results: We found 49 indicators of nurse leadership in disaster management. We grouped indicators into two major groups: common indicators (27 indicators) and specific indicators (22 indicators). Four themes were obtained according to the disaster management phases: nurse leadership in the mitigation phase, the preparedness phase, the response phase, and the recovery/rehabilitation phase. Each theme contains three main sub-themes (3Cs): character, competence, and the central role of the leader. Conclusion: Using the International Council of Nurses (ICN) framework's disaster phase as a conceptual basis, 49 nurse leadership indicators were identified as potential information for future items candidates of the instrument for measuring nurse leadership in disaster management. Bacterial leaf streak (BLS), caused by Xanthomonas translucens pv. undulosa, has increased in both prevalence and severity in the major hard red spring wheat (HRSW)-producing state North Dakota. The disease is readily observed after flag leaf emergence and can quickly lead to defoliation and severe yield loss. The objectives of this research were to document the prevalence and incidence of BLS in North Dakota and provide estimations of yield and economic losses. Trained field scouts determined the incidence and prevalence of BLS in ND on HRSW plants between Feekes growth stage (FGS) 8 and FGS 11.2 from 2015 to 2021, and data were used to determine BLS-affected hectares. Yield data in combination with BLS ratings were obtained from HRSW performance trials to estimate the impact of BLS on yield. The combination of variety identity, hectarage data, BLS-affected hectarage estimates, and yield loss estimates was used to estimate economic losses from BLS in 2019 and 2020. Our data suggest that BLS-affected hectares ranged from 747 to 141,680 between 2015 and 2021. Yield loss was observed at multiple HRSW performance trial locations, with estimated yield losses as high as 60% on susceptible varieties. The amount of BLS-affected hectares was the highest in 2019 and 2020, and direct economic losses for North Dakota HRSW producers were estimated to be as high as $4.7 and $8.0 million, respectively. These data highlight the importance of BLS in HRSW and the need to procure resources for breeding efforts and grower education on management of BLS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Newly registered nurses' emergency response capability falls short of their employers' expectations. Therefore, they need to develop this ability to cope with various changes in the clinic. Unfortunately, traditional learning has not been good enough in cultivating nursing skills and fostering self-directed learning which plays a key role in the learning process. Therefore, we attempted to integrate virtual simulation into the flipped learning format to optimize the training of newly registered nurses, and investigate its effectiveness. This study employs a pre- and post-test quasi-experimental design. The control and experimental groups each consisted of 43 newly registered nurses recruited in 2019 and 2020, respectively. The control group was trained using the traditional learning while the experimental group used the flipped learning format combined with virtual simulation for a 4–week emergency response training course. The data were collected through The Assessment Questionnaire of Clinical First-aid Capability of Nurses in the Non-Emergency Department and the Rating Scale of Self-directed Learning Competence for Nurses. Multivariate analysis of covariance was used for statistical analysis and the results show that the flipped learning combined with virtual simulation is more suitable and effective in improving nurses' emergency response abilities and self-directed learning compared to traditional learning. The purpose of this paper is to show what are the applicants' institution selection criteria in higher education in Hungary and what changes this will imply in higher education management and communication. These questions were investigated based on a review of the most relevant literature and the analysis of 1396 Hungarian higher education University of Pécs applicants in two consecutive years. Exploratory and confirmative factor analyses were used to identify the relative order of the application influencing factors: as a result, the first most important is the vivacity, followed by career and costs, fourth is image and the last one is the low commitment. In this context, the paper has shown that the identification of the application strategies requires renewed management and communication techniques. The results help the institutions to determine the possible actions to be implemented to attract more students and improve the level of offered services. The permanent system change of the Hungarian higher education as a phenomenon versus the applicants' institution selection criteria gives the uniqueness of the Hungarian situation, and this study provides information for researchers in higher education in this field additionally. Responsible Management Education (RME) seeks to prepare students to address social and ecological crises via going beyond a traditional narrow understanding of shareholder wealth maximization. Past research has shown mixed results regarding the effectiveness of RME courses to change students' subsequent behavior. We examine whether taking an RME course that teaches multiple approaches to management affects students' subsequent investment decisions. We find that such students allocate less money to investments that focus only on financial returns without regard for social and ecological well-being, thereby counterbalancing our finding that greater investment knowledge is associated with allocating more money to such investments.
