It is a general acknowledgment that regular exercise improves physical and mental health. However, there are few studies on the benefits of sports activities for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This qualitative study used an interpretive descriptive approach. Seven volunteer parents who had children with autism between the ages of 10-23 attending a special education and rehabilitation center on the European Side of Istanbul were included in our study. Data was analyzed thematically. As a result, it was revealed that sports activities generally decrease the hyperactive and aggressive behaviors of individuals with autism, help the development of speech and communication skills, increase eye contact, increase joint flexibility and balance, improve attention and perception, and contribute positively to their socialization. In our study, it was mentioned by the parents that the most frequently preferred sports activity was swimming. Although individuals with autism subject to our study were reported to have benefited from sports activities, they could not continue sports activities regularly. The most important reason for this, was stated as the problem of accessibility to sports facilities. As a result; it can be concluded that sports activities are positively effective in overcoming physical, mental, behavioral and social problems in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in general. Furthermore, we think that during sports activities, individuals with autism can find a chance to meet different people other than their families, thus improving their communication skills., Düzenli spor yapmanın fiziksel ve ruhsal sağlığı iyileştirdiği genel bir kabuldür. Fakat Otizm Spektrum Bozukluğuna sahip bireyler için spor etkinliklerinin yararlarına ilişkin az sayıda çalışma vardır. Bu nitel çalışmada yorumlayıcı betimsel bir yaklaşım kullanılmıştır. Çalışmamıza İstanbul Avrupa Yakası'nda bir özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezine devam eden 10-23 yaş arasında otizmli çocuğu olan yedi gönüllü ebeveyn dahil edildi. Veriler tematik olarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda; spor etkinliklerinin genel olarak otizmli bireylerin hiperaktif, agresif davranışlarını azalttığı, konuşma ve iletişim becerilerinin gelişmesine yardımcı olduğu, göz temasını arttırdığı, eklem esnekliği ve dengeyi arttırdığı, dikkat ve algı artışında iyileşme sağladığı, otizmli bireylerin sosyalleşmesine olumlu katkılar sağladığı belirtilmiştir. Araştırmamızda en sık tercih edilen spor etkinliğinin ise yüzme sporu olduğu ifade edilmiştir. Araştırmamıza katılan otizmli bireyler spor etkinliklerinden fayda görmelerine rağmen düzenli biçimde spor etkinliklerine devam edememişlerdir; bunun en önemli nedeni ise spor imkanlarının erişilebilirliği problemi olarak belirtilmiştir. Sonuç olarak; spor etkinliklerinin, araştırmamızda yer alan Otizm Spektrum Bozukluğuna sahip bireylerde, genel anlamda fiziksel, ruhsal, davranışsal ve sosyal problemleri aşmalarında olumlu yönde etkili olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca spor etkinlikleri sırasında otizmli bireylerin sosyal ortamlarda ailesi dışında farklı insanlarla karşılaşmalarının da iletişim becerilerinin iyileştirilmesinde önemli olduğunu düşünmekteyiz.

Bu araştırmada yeni nesil maliyetleme yöntemlerinden kaynak tüketim muhasebesini konu alan, Türkiye’deki akademik dergilerde 2007-2021 yılları arasında yayımlanmış makalelerin bibliyografik profillerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Söz konusu amaç doğrultusunda Google Akademik, Ulakbim, DergiPark ve diğer veri tabanlarından yararlanılarak 33 adet makale incelenmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarında araştırma kapsamında incelenen makalelerin; ağırlıklı olarak 2019, 2020 ve 2021 yılları arasında yayımlandığı, yarısına yakınının ampirik araştırma olduğu, ampirik araştırmaların %80’inin imalat sektörü özelinde uygulama içerdiği, çoğunlukla erkek yazarlar tarafından ve iki yazarlı olarak hazırlandığı tespit edilmiştir. Kaynak Tüketim Muhasebesi konulu makalelerin en fazla Muhasebe Bilim Dünyası Dergisi’nde yayımlandığı, 24 farklı üniversiteden ve çoğunlukla Dr. Öğr. Üyesi unvanına sahip yazarlar tarafından hazırlandığı saptanmıştır. Kaynak Tüketim Muhasebesi (KTM) literatürüne en fazla katkının Çukurova Üniversitesi, Osmaniye Korkut Ata Üniversitesi, İnönü Üniversitesi, Kütahya Dumlupınar Üniversitesi ve Karabük Üniversitesi akademisyenleri tarafından sunulduğu belirlenmiştir., This study seeks to determine the bibliographical profile of articles published in academic journals in Turkey between 2007 and 2021 on Resource Consumption Accounting (RCA), one of the new-generation costing methods. To this end, 33 articles were examined making use of Google Academic, Ulakbim, DergiPark and other databases. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the articles examined for the study were mostly published in 2019, 2020 and 2021, that almost half were empirical studies, that 80% of the empirical studies included work specifically on the manufacturing sector, and that the majority of the studies were written by men and had two authors. The most articles on RCA were observed to have been published in The World of Accounting Science. The articles were seen to have been prepared by writers from 24 different universities, most of whom had the title Asst. Prof. Dr. The largest contributions to the literature on RCA were found to have been made by academics from Çukurova University, Osmaniye Korkut Ata University, İnönü University, Kütahya Dumlupınar University and Karabük University.

This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between clinical findings, height and weight standard deviation scores, 25-hydroxyvitamin D25(OH)DIn total, 67.5% patients had a short stature, and 50% of them were underweight for their age. Of the patients, 13.5% were immobile, 28.6% had 25(OH)DThe low BMD z score prevalence reported with DXA was misleadingly higher in children with MPS and short stature. To prevent exposure to unnecessary antiresorptive treatments in these children, the effect of severe short stature and bone geometry on DXA measurements should be considered; further studies on bone health are warranted.

Günümüzde şirketlerin temel amacı hem risk hem zaman faktörünü dikkate alan firma değerinin maksimizasyonunu sağlamaktır. Bu amaç şirketin hisse senetlerinin piyasa değerinin maksimize edilmesini sağlayacak şekilde kararlar alınmasını gerekli kılmaktadır. Değer maksimizasyonunun sağlanmasına etki eden en önemli faktörlerden biri sermaye yapısı diğer bir ifadeyle finansman karmasıdır. Sermaye yapısı şirketlerin varlıklarının finansmanında kullandığı kaynakların bileşimini ifade etmektedir. Varlıkların finansmanında kullanılan her bir kaynağın maliyeti düşünüldüğünde şirketler açısından optimum sermaye yapısının oluşturulması firma değeri üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahiptir. Şirketlerin optimum sermaye yapısının tespit edilmesini sağlamak amacıyla pek çok teori geliştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada öncelikle teorik çerçevede sermaye yapısı, sermaye maliyeti ve sermaye yapısını etkileyen faktörler ele alınmış, devamında klasik ve modern sermaye yapısı teoriler açıklanmıştır.

This paper seeks to determine the working capital efficiency levels of firms in the manufacturing sector in Turkey and the impact of working capital efficiency on their profitability. To this end, a panel data analysis was conducted using quarterly data for the 2009-2018 period. The findings indicate that the working capital efficiency index has a positive impact on firm profitability and that the cash conversion cycle has no impact on firm profitability.

We aimed to evaluate the interference of lamotrigine (LMG) on the synthetic cannabinoids metabolite-K2/1 (SCm/K1) urine test by Homogeneous Enzyme Immunoassay (Immune-SCm/K1). This study consists of two parts: case-control and interference effect research. In the case-control study, two groups using LMG and a non-use of LMG were formed, all of them non-SC users. In the interference effect research, four groups were formed by adding either a LMG stock solution or a LMG user's urine to a SCm/K1 negative urine, and Immune-SCm/K1 test calibrators and quality control (QC) materials. Immune-SCm/K1, SCm/K1 by LC/MS-MS and LMG tests were performed on all samples in the study. The case-control study was performed on a total of 55 participants (mean age 39.76 ± 9.84 years). Both groups were statistically insignificant in terms of age and gender. Urine LMG levels were 5.71 ± 10.61 mg/L in the LMG group and0.30 mg/L in the control group. Immune-SCm/K1 results were 35.84 ± 7.62 ng/mL in the LMG group,3.00 ng/mL in the control group and the LC/MS-SCm/K1 urine test of both groups were found to be 'NEGATIVE'. Results were interpreted as a cross-reaction in the interference study and a statistically significant relationship was found between LMG levels and Immune-SCm/K1 levels in the SCm/K1 negative samples (groups 1 and 2) (

Background Pontocerebellar hypoplasia (PCH) constitutes a heterogeneous neurodegenerative/neurodevelopmental disorder of the pons and cerebellum with onset in the prenatal period. Our study aimed to present different clinical and radiological manifestations of our genetically diagnosed PCH patientsMaterial & Methods Six patients were enrolled in this study from September 2018 to March 2021. All the clinical radiological and genetic investigations were done at Cukurova University Medical School.Results Five children were diagnosed genetically and categorized under one of the types of PCH (type 10,7,11). Homozygous mutaion in CLP1In PCH type 10, TOE1 in PCH type 7 and TBC1D23 in PCH type 11 were respectively detected. At the same time, one patient was genetically diagnosed with cerebellofaciodental syndrome (BRF1) gene but was not categorized under one of the types of PCH. Conclusion According to our study, PCH is a rare neurodegenerative disease, although some types are static as PCH11 male gender and PCH7 female gender. Some clinical features are specific to a definite type. PCH7 express disorders of sex development most apparent in 46 XY. Some ethnic groups could express distinct subtypes. PCH10 is seen in the Turkish population. Radiological imaging is beneficial in pre-diagnosis; all the patients had different pons and cerebellar hypoplasia degrees. Genetic testing as like whole exome sequencing via next-generation sequencing is essential in setting the definite diagnosis and determining the type/subtype of PCH. Phenobarbital is effective as a symptomatic treatment of seizures in PCH.

Amaç –Kurumsal finansın önemli bir alanı olması ve kârlılığa etkilerinden dolayı çalışma sermayesinin etkin yönetimi şirketler açısından son derece önemlidir. Bu araştırma BİST’e kayıtlı şirketlerin çalışma sermayesi yönetimindeki etkinliklerini tespit etmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem–Araştırmada 2009-2018 yılları arasında hisseleri borsada kesintisiz işlem gören 127 imalat şirketinin çeyrek dönem mali tablo verileriyle çalışma sermayesi etkinlik düzeyleri indeks yöntemiyle hesaplanmış, şirket ve sektör bazında betimsel analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir.Bulgular –Analiz sonuçlarında BİST imalat sektörünün dönen varlıklarını kullanarak satış yaratma kabiliyetinin en düşük olduğu dönemin 2017 yılının birinci çeyreği olduğu ve 2017 yılının dördüncü çeyreğinin ise sektörün dönen varlıklarını kullanarak satış yaratma kabiliyetlerinin en yüksek olduğu dönem olduğu görülmüştür. BİST imalat sektöründe çalışma sermayesi alt hesap gruplarının bireysel performanslarının en yüksek olduğu dönemin 2013 yılının birinci çeyreği, en düşük olduğu dönemin ise 2017 yılının ikinci çeyreği olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İmalat şirketlerinin etkinlik düzeylerinin sektörle karşılaştırmalı analizlerinde şirketlerin %45’inin sektörün üstünde, %4’ünün sektörle eşit, %51’nin ise sektörün altında bir başarı sergilediği görülmüştür. Tartışma –Araştırma sonuçları BİST’ekayıtlı imalat şirketlerinin incelenen dönemlerin genelinde çalışma sermayelerini etkin yönetme noktasında başarılı olduklarını göstermiştir.

Background. This study evaluates 15 years’ results of the implantation of autoclaved femoral and tibial prosthesis components together with a new same brand polyethylene insert which were used as a temporary articulating spacer in patients with periprosthetic infection of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in a two-stage reimplantation procedure in 6 patients. Material and methods. The femoral and tibial prostheses of 6 patients with deep chronic periprosthetic infection of TKA who underwent elective two-stage exchange arthroplasty were autoclaved and reinserted with a new polyethylene insert of the same brand and bone cement mixed with tecoplanin in 2004. Results. Four patients were followed for 15 years. They were all female and between 47-70 years old. The infectious agent was meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in 3 and coagulase negative Staphy­lococcus in one patient. Patients were invited for second stage reimplantation, but they refused to undergo the second stage. Three of them had their second stage reimplantation after 15, 13 and 10 years while one patient was reinfected after 5 years, in 2009, and arthrodesis was performed. They were all happy with the result and infection free at last follow-up. Conclusions. 1. Regarding the results of our patients, reinsertion of autoclaved femoral and tibial prostheses together with a new same brand polyethylene insert with teicoplanin loaded bone cement can be used cautiously in the management of periprosthetic deep infection of TKA. 2. That is because patients might not want the second stage reimplantation. 3. We believe that the refusal of patients to undergo the surgery shows that the single-stage treatment is effective.

Globalisation and international investment decisions have created a need for users of financial information to be able to interpret and compare financial information across borders. IFRS have been developed to meet this need and Turkey has also made efforts to conform to these standards. In this context, a survey was conducted among 269 accounting professionals working for companies shares in which are traded on the BIST with a view to determining the views of accounting professionals and investigate the relationship between these views and demographic factors. Analyses of the findings revealed that the views of the accounting professionals concerning the standards were related to demographic factors., Globalleşme ve uluslararası yatırım kararları finansal bilgi kullanıcıları açısından finansal bilgilerin yorumlanması ve karşılaştırılabilmesi ihtiyacını gündeme getirmiştir. Söz konusu ihtiyacın karşılanması amacıyla Uluslararası Finansal Raporlama Standartları oluşturulmuş ve Türkiye de bu standartlara uyum çabası içerisine girmiştir. Bu çerçevede araştırmada muhasebe meslek mensuplarının standartlar hakkındaki görüşlerinin ve demografik faktörlerle görüşler arasındaki ilişkinin tespit edilmesi amacıyla hisseleri Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören şirketlerde çalışan 269 muhasebe meslek mensubu ile anket araştırması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda muhasebe meslek mensuplarının standartlara yönelik görüşleri ile yaş, eğitim, pozisyon, mesleki yeterlilik ve standartlara geçiş nedeni arasında ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between birth type, plasma concentration, and placental mRNA expression of IGF-I in Bafra ewes. A total of 30 ewes with single (n=15) or twin (n=15) gestation and at least 2 offspring were used as experimental animals. Before mating, blood samples were collected from the jugular vena of all ewes. Following lambing, birth type, live weight, and sex of lambs and placental traits have been recorded. A commercial ELISA kit was used to measure plasma IGF-I concentration levels. IGF-I gene expression level has been determined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. No difference was observed between single and twinbearing sheep in terms of placental weight and various cotyledon characteristics in the study. The most important protective measure in the pandemic process is a vaccine. The logistics and administration of the vaccine are as important as its production. The increasing diffusion of electronic devices containing geo-referenced information generates a large production of spatial data that are essential for risk management and impact mitigation, especially in the case of disasters and pandemics. Given that vaccines will be administered to the majority of people, it is inevitable to establish vaccination centres outside hospitals. Site selection of vaccination centres is a major challenge for the health sector in metropolitan cities due to the dense population and high number of daily cases. A poor site selection process can cause many problems for the health sector, workforce, health workers, and patients. To overcome this, a three-step solution approach is proposed: (i) determining eight criteria using from the experience of the advisory committee, (ii) calculating criterion weights using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and performing spatial analysis of criteria using Geographic Information System (GIS), (iii) assigning potential vaccination centres by obtaining a suitability map and determining service areas. A case study is performed for Bağcılar, Istanbul district, using the proposed methodology. The results show that the suitable areas are grouped in three different areas of the district. The proposed methodology provides an opportunity to execute a scientific and strategic vaccination programme and to create a map of suitable vaccination centres for the countries.

One of the solutions to reduce environmental emissions is related to the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) with sustainable energy. In order to be able to increase the number of electric vehicles in circulation, it is important to implement optimal planning and design of the infrastructure, with particular reference to areas equipped with charging stations. The suitable analysis of the location of current electric vehicle charging stations (EVCSs) is the central theme of this document. The research focused on the actual location of the charging stations of five major EVCS companies in the province by selecting Istanbul as the study area. The study was conducted through a three-step approach and specifically (i) the application of the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method for creating the weights of the 6 main and 18 secondary criteria that influence the location of EVCSs; (ii) a geospatial analysis using GIS considering each criterion and developing the suitability map for the locations of EVCSs, and (iii) application of the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) to evaluate the location performance of current EVCSs. The results show that the ratio between the most suitable and unsuitable areas for the location of EVCSs in Istanbul and the study area is about 5% and 4%, respectively. The results achieved means of improving sustainable urban planning and laying the basis for an assessment of other areas where EVCSs could be placed.

Intersections are the most important regions in terms of urban traffic management. The intersection areas on the corridor should be analyzed together for consistency in traffic engineering. To do so, three intersections on the Vatan Street corridor in İstanbul, the most crowded city of Turkey, were examined. Various geometric and signal designs were performed for intersections and the most suitable corridor design was analyzed. The corridor designs were modeled with the PTV VISSIM microsimulation software. The most suitable corridor design was evaluated by using the results obtained from the microsimulation via analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) from multi criteria decision analysis (MCDA) methods. The evaluation criteria in the study are vehicle delay, queue length, stopped delay, stops, travel time, vehicle safety, CO emission, fuel consumption, and construction cost. As a result, the current and the most suitable alternative corridors were compared according to the comparison parameters and up to 80% improvements were observed. Thus, some advantages were obtained in terms of energy, environment, time, and cost.

OBJECTIVES The aim of the current study was to investigate Erectile dysfunction (ED) in asthma patients without comorbidity and the relationship between the level of asthma control and ED. METHODS Forty male patients aged 24-50 years with controlled-to-uncontrolled asthma and 20 healthy volunteers were included in this study. The International Index of Erectile Function Questionnaire (IIEF) for ED was used. RESULTS Evaluation of the IIEF scores for ED showed that 23 (57.5%) of the asthma patients and 4 (20.0%) of the controls had various degrees of ED, and the difference was statistically significant. In total, 25% of asthma patients had mild ED, 22.5% moderate ED, and 10% severe ED. Severe, moderate and mild ED was more frequent in the asthma group. Of the 23 patients who had various degrees of ED, 13 were in the uncontrolled asthma group. While all asthma patients with severe ED were in the uncontrolled asthma group, of the 9 asthma patients with moderate ED, 6 were in the uncontrolled asthma group, 2 were in the partially controlled asthma group and one was in the controlled asthma group. Additionally, of the 10 asthma patients with mild ED, 3 were in the uncontrolled asthma group, 2 were in the partially controlled asthma group and 5 were in the controlled asthma group. CONCLUSION The current study showed that ED is frequent and more severe in asthma patients than controls with same age. A highly negative correlation was found between ED degree and asthma control severity.

The main objective of this research is to investigate the utilization criteria of the recycled aggregates gained from construction and demolition wastes, in the production of various ready-mixed and precast concrete elements. Within this scope, construction and demolition waste materials were selectively separated to have homogeneous concrete wastes in the recycling plant. Then, fine and coarse aggregates were achieved from concrete wastes. Recycled concrete aggregates were than crushed to specific sizes; physical properties were determined and compared with those of normal aggregates. Finally, these recycled aggregates were investigated about their utility in the industrial production of various concrete products like ready-mixed concrete, concrete pipe, paving stone and kerbs. Also some studies were done to determine durability and permeability properties of these products. It can be concluded that the use of recycled aggregates in the production of various concrete elements is possible with proper separation and classification. Moreover, lower replacement rates should be applied to obtain sufficient conditions which are specified in related product standards. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Pedestrian crossings are sites in which vehicles and pedestrians can crash into each other, and are very important in terms of urban traffic. Drivers and pedestrians are more likely to violate traffic regulations, and thus adversely affect traffic safety and flow, in streets that have many such crossings. Careful planning of pedestrian crossing locations provides a solution to these problems. In this study, a corridor-based analysis of such sites is performed. Twenty-four criteria that are considered to affect pedestrian crossing locations and traffic flow aredetermined. Based on these criteria, the most suitable pedestrian crossing scenario is identified using Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and VlseKriterijuska Optimizacija I Komoromisno Resenje (VIKOR) from Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) methods are used to evaluate the pedestrian crossing locations, and PTV VISSIM is used to examine the impact of these sites on traffic. The proposed method is then applied to a case study of Erzurum, Turkey that involves determining the best pedestrian crossing scenario. The results show that the most suitable scenario is S.2. In terms of the evaluation criteria, this alternative scenario provides an improvement of up to 50 % over the current situation. Finally, a sensitivity analysis is performed to reveal the effect of changing the criteria weights on the evaluation process.

The biggest change will occur in taxis which have an important share in transportation along with the dissemination process of electric vehicles (EV). Therefore, charging infrastructure problem must be solved for electric taxis (ETs). It is aimed to solve the site selection problem of electric taxi charging station (ETCS) for Istanbul, a metropolitan city in this study. A four-step solution approach is developed: (i) determination of six main and 25 sub- criteria, (ii) weighting of evaluation criteria using fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (fuzzy AHP), (iii) Performing spatial analysis of criteria via Geographical Information System (GIS) and assigning of ETCSs, (iv) ranking of assigned ETCSs using Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) accordance with performance values. The results show that, in Istanbul, it is seen that the southeast part of the European side and the southwestern part of the Anatolian side are more suitable for ETCS. The proposed methodology approach provides a more accurate solution for high degree of uncertainty problems.

This study focused on the effects of variables related to nomophobia levels of youths for adults; and exhibited a nomophobia profile of an adult by means of the significant variables about adults. Two hundred-ten adults from 30 different occupational groups participated in the research. The relational research design was used in the research. Data after collecting through scales were subjected to logistic regression analysis and two-step clustering analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that while the nomophobia scores of the participated adults who were married, had children, were 30 years and older, have higher life satisfaction scores and lower social media addiction scores were low. On the other hand, it was determined that the adult in high nomophobia scores were clustered in the group who were single and did not have children, were between the ages of 24-29, had low life satisfaction scores and high social media addiction.

Considering the depletion of fossil fuels and the environmental impact of transport, reducing the use of such fuels is a globally accepted priority. Thus, when moving towards alternative energy types, the first will undoubtedly be electrical energy. In order to accelerate and contribute to this process, electric vehicles (EV) must be preferred over conventional motor vehicles. However, there are various problems associated with the use of EVs, such as range and recharge status. Optimal planning of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) is a solution to these problems. For this purpose, parameters affecting EVCS locations have been determined in the paper. Considering these parameters and the current EVCS locations, the most suitable alternative EVCS locations were identified using Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Both the current and alternative EVCS locations were evaluated by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment of Evaluations (PROMETHEE), and VlseKriterijuska Optimizacija I Komoromisno Resenje (VIKOR) from multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods. The results show that, in Istanbul, the southeast of the European side and the southwest of the Anatolian side were most suitable for EVCS.

People are relaxed (satisfied or well-off) in what is described as comfortable climatic conditions. In such conditions, a person’s energy balance is not disturbed because of stresses from extreme heat or cold. Bioclimatic structure has been well researched and should be a consideration in the planning process for arranging comfortable spaces. It represents the understanding that energy balance is one of the basic elements of a sustainable landscape design. The goals of this study have been to create ideal places for human thermal comfort and to advance objectives focused on the importance of sustainable and ecological landscape planning and design work, along with their accompanying economic benefits. In this study, which focuses on the climate of the Province of Aydin, the most suitable areas for bioclimatic comfort have been identified. The climate values for the Aydin Province have been taken from a total of 22 meteorological stations. Stations at altitudes ranging from 11 to 871 m were used to note the climate changes that occurred. The average temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed from each station, including data collected using Geographic Information System (GIS) software, were transferred. GIS maps were then created from the imported data, and areas of optimal comfort around the city of Aydin were determined. The results show the range that is suitable for a bioclimatic comfort zone in Aydin. The bioclimatic comfort range was determined to be roughly 17 °C for Aydin, and the city of Aydin demonstrated a comfort range between 14 and 19 °C. As a result, the city of Aydin was shown to be a suitable area for bioclimatic comfort.

In this study, the optimisation of sulphur removal by H2O2/H2SO4 solutions, and a limited kinetic measurements by H2O2/HCl solutions have been carried over Artvin/Yusufeli lignite. In kinetic measurements, only the effect of temperature on removal of sulphur has been investigated. By keeping all other parameters constant, with increments in temperature at different times, it has been seen that removal of sulphur is increased. A statistical experimental arrangement which has six parameters and for each parameter there is twenty five experiments with five levels. In generally, pyritic sulphur, total sulphur, organic sulphur and ash removal rates have been determined. According to carried out variance analysis, in removal of pyritic and total sulphur, all parameters are effective, but, in removal of organic sulphur, acid concentration and particle size are not effective, and in removal of ash, only, acid concentration is not effective, however, all other parameters are effective. Sehirsel alanlarin mekânsal gelisimi ile birlikte arazi kullanim formlarinda degisiklikler meydana gelmektedir. Mekânsal buyume planli bir sekilde gerceklesmediginde cevre kirliligine, duzensiz yapilasmalara ve tarim arazileri ile dogal alanlarin tahrip edilmesine veya yok olmasina neden olmaktadir. Gelecekte daha surdurulebilir kalkinma ve daha yasanabilir bir dunya icin bu durum olumsuz olarak gorulmekte ve tum dunyada sehirlerin mekânsal buyumesi konusunda calismalar yapilmaktadir. Turkiye’de 1980’li yillar ve sonrasinda sehirsel buyume ulke genelinde hizli bir sekilde artmis ve bu durum sehirsel alanlarin civarindaki dogal alanlari ve tarim arazilerini tahrip etmistir. Kayseri son 25 yilda hizli bir sekilde buyuyen sehirlerimizden biridir. Bu calismanin amaci Kayseri’de meydana gelen sehirsel gelisim ve bununla beraber olusan arazi kullanimi degisiminin saptanmasidir. Kayseri’nin sehirsel gelisimini belirlemek icin 1987, 1999 ve 2013 yillarina ait Landsat TM, ETM ve OLI uydu goruntuleri siniflandirilmistir. Ayni zamanda 2013 yili yuksek mekânsal cozunurluklu uydu goruntusu kullanilarak dogruluk analizleri yapilmistir. 1987-2013 yillari arasinda sehirsel alana donusen arazi siniflari degisim analizleri ile saptanmistir. Calismanin sonucunda gozlemlenen tum arazi siniflarindan yerlesime donusumun oldugu belirlenmistir. Buna ek olarak tum yillarda sehirsel buyumenin arttigi saptanmistir.

Aim: Plastic handcuffs are usually used in mass arrest incidents by law enforcement agencies. Using them are increased due to its being lighter, cheaper, more hygienic, and easier to carry and apply. In this study, we aimed to discuss the problems occurred during the use of plastic handcuffs and problems with the medico-legal documents prepared before and after police custody. Material and Method: In our study, 70 students who were taken in custody and plastic handcuffed during social events at university were evaluated. Results: Medical examinations after police custody reveal that skin lesions in accordance with handcuffing were seen in 35,7 percent of all cases and knife-cut injuries during the uncuffing were seen in 2,9 percent of all cases. In 50 percent of the cases (n: 20), however, there were skin lesions that were not documented in the examination performed in the hospital before police custody. Results: If plastic handcuffs must be used during the police arrest, they should not be too tight and during uncuffing, equipment which decreases the risk of injury had better be used. Also medical examination report should be arranged in a way to accelerate the justice process, and prevent the loss of right. Therefore health personnel should be well educated for a complete overall medical examination, Amaç: Plastik kelepçeler, toplu gözaltı uygulamalarında, genellikle güvenlik güçleri tarafından kullanılmaktadır. Hafif, kolay taşınır, ucuz, hijyenik ve uygulamasının kolay olması gibi nedenlerden dolayı kullanımı giderek artmaktadır. Bu çalışmada plastik kelepçe uygulamasında ortaya çıkan sorunların tartışılması ve gözaltı giriş çıkış raporlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmamızda, üniversitede meydana gelen olaylarda gözaltına alınan ve plastik kelepçe takılan 70 öğrenci değerlendirmeye alındı.Bulgular: Gözaltı çıkış muayenesinde olguların % 35,7‘sinde kelepçe ile uyumlu cilt lezyonları ve % 2,9’unda plastik kelepçenin çıkartılması esnasında bıçak kullanımı ile oluşmuş cilt kesileri tespit edildi. Vücudunda travmatik lezyon olmasına rağmen %50 (n:20) olguda mevcut olan lezyonların hastanede yapılan gözaltı giriş muayenesinde kayıt edilmediği görüldü. Sonuç: Gözaltı uygulamalarında plastik kelepçe kullanma zorunluluğu varsa çok sıkı olmamalı ve kelepçelerin çıkarılması esnasında yaralanma riskini en aza indiren aletler kullanılmalıdır. Ayrıca gözaltı muayene raporları eksiksiz, adli süreci hızlandırıcı ve hak kayıplarının önüne geçecek şekilde düzenlenmelidir. Phlegmasia cerulea dolens is a rare condition caused by complete venous occlusion and often results in tissue necrosis, limb amputation, or death. In this study, a 51 year old female presenting at our emergency department with leg edema, leg pain and cyanosis and was diagnosed with phlegmesia cerulea dolens, which is a life-threatening complication of deep venous thrombosis. Prompt diagnosis and treatment initiation are important to prevent pulmonary emboli, gangrene, amputation, and, ultimately, death.
