In this article, an analysis has been performed to study the two dimensional viscous flow between slowly expanding and contracting walls with weak permeability. The governing equations for the base fluid of this problem are described by dimensionless parameters wall dilation rate (α) and permeation Reynolds number (Re). The nonlinear differential equation is solved using two different analytically approaches by Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) and Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM). Then, the results are compared with numerical solution by fourth order Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg technique. Furthermore, the effects of dimensionless parameters on the velocity distributions are investigated in this research. As an important outcome, it is observed that, great agreement was found between the obtained results from the analytical and the numerical models.

An analysis has been performed to study the problem of magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) Jeffery–Hamel flow with nanoparticles. The governing equations for this problem are reduced to an ordinary form and is solved using collocation method (CM) and numerically by fourth order Runge–Kutta technique. Also, Velocity fields have been computed and shown graphically for various values of physical parameters. The objective of the present work is to investigate the effect of the semi angles between the plates, Reynolds number, magnetic field strength and nanoparticles volume fraction on the velocity field. As an important outcome, Increasing Reynolds numbers leads to reduce velocity and excluded backflow in convergent channel.

Herein described is a case of biofilm obstructing ventriculoperitoneal shunt due to Cutibacteirum acnes infection in a patient with coccidioidal meningitis. Cutibacterium acnes infects and obstructs cerebral shunts by the production of biofilm; however, diagnosis is usually missed by routine aerobic cultures. Obtaining anaerobic cultures routinely in patients with foreign body implants leading to central nervous system infections could prevent a missed diagnosis of this pathogen. Penicillin G is the first-line treatment.

Background and Aim: Clinical education is a very important and effective part in speech therapy training, without that, it will be very difficult and impossible to train capable and qualified people. It is necessary to investigate the facilitators and deterrents to the quality and quantity of clinical education in the field of speech therapy to study educational problems and provide educational programs in the future. Methods: This is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study. 62 undergraduate students and 41 speech therapy instructors (41 people) were included in the study. They completed the consent form and a 62-item questionnaire of facilitators and inhibitors for clinical education. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 22. Findings: 62 students with a mean age of 22.53 ± 1.9 and 41 instructors with a mean age of 36.29 ± 9.9 were studied. According to both groups, the most important facilitating factors were the area of ​​"facilitating characteristics of coaches and instructors" and the most important deterrents were the area of ​​"student dissatisfaction with the way practical and theoretical courses are presented". Based on the results of the independent t-test, in some facilitating and inhibiting factors, there was a significant difference between the opinions of the instructor and the student (p≤0.001). Conclusion: The most important area of facilitating clinical education is the use of experienced and responsible instructors who have passed appropriate in-service courses in clinical education. The quality of education is necessary to make decisions. It is also necessary to equip the physical spaces of clinics and their facilities and to establish a suitable time interval for presenting practical and theoretical courses

Obtaining metacognitive skills is crucial for enhancing self-regulation. So, this quasi-experimental study aimed to assess the effect of teaching metacognition through peer-conducted flipped classroom on high school students' self-regulation. 107 students filled out Self-Regulation Questionnaire as the pre-test. Both control and intervention groups received a package of four-session multimedia e-content about metacognition during four weeks. Each week, the students in the intervention group participated in a face-to-face session during which peers handled the instruction, while participants in the control group had teacher conducted sessions. Finally, the same questionnaire was answered as the post-test. The results showed a significant increase from pre to post-test scores in the intervention group, in contrast to the control one with no significant increase. Between groups comparison of post-test scores resulted in a significant higher score in the intervention group. So, the findings showed the positive effect of teaching metacognition through this method on students’ self-regulation.

Abstract Background Post-hysterectomy histopathological examination is currently the main diagnostic tool for differentiating uterine sarcomas from leiomyomas. This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of preoperative quantitative metrics based on T2-weighted sequences and contrast-enhanced MRI (CE-MRI) for distinguishing uterine sarcomas from leiomyomas. Materials and methods The institutional review board approved the study. Sixty-five women confirmed to have a total of 105 lesions participated. Routine pelvic MRI sequences, T2 map and CE-MRI images were performed preoperatively using a 3 T MR scanner. Six quantitative metrics—T2 mapping parameter, T2 scaled ratio, tumor myometrium contrast ratio on T2, tumor psoas contrast ratio on T2, tumor myometrium contrast-enhanced ratio, and tumor psoas contrast-enhanced ratio—were extracted from the acquired image sets. Chi-square test was used to compare the percentage of malignant lesions with the central necrosis to the corresponding percentage for the benign masses. Using the area under receiver operating characteristic (AUC) curve, the performance of different metrics for distinguishing uterine sarcomas from leiomyomas was measured. Moreover, for each metric, we extracted the optimal cut-off value. The values of sensitivity, specificity, negative predictive value, and positive predictive value were calculted for the classifiers based on different metrics. Abstract Background & aim: The students’ physical health and the proper formation of their musculoskeletal system is a basic requirement for children’s overall health. Most of the musculoskeletal chronic pain can be controlled and reduced by early childhood education and training. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of postural deformities in overweight and obese girls in elementary schools of Yasuj Methods: the present cross-sectional study was carried out in the school year of 2017-2018 using multistage cluster sampling. At the first stage, 1215 students in grades four to six from six schools in Yasuj, Iran, were examined and finally, with following the inclusion criteria, 236 students were enrolled. The data were collected using a chessboard, Vernier caliper and the New York Test. The height and weight of the participants were measured to calculate the BMI according to WHO guidelines. BMI was categorized according to age and gender by using the CDC’s determination software of body mass index for individuals under the age of 18. Results: The prevalence of musculoskeletal abnormalities in overweight and obese students and prevalence of overweight and obesity in 1215 students in the primary sample was 12.8% and 6.6%, respectively. The waist circumference is almost 60% higher and the knee bracelet has the lowest prevalence rates of approximately 11% with abnormalities. Also, more than 58% of these students had 3 abnormalities and more. More Conclusion: The high prevalence of musculoskeletal deformity among obese and overweight students represents a real treat to their health status, and emphasizes on the necessity of planning the preventive and controlling interventions as the priorities in the health programs.

Objective(s): Non- Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are two main hematological malignances which have been driven from lymphoid tissue. Genetic polymorphisms in tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) -308 and lymphotoxin-α (LT-α) +252 may affect their transcription and expression which leads to their high plasma level. The frequency of the TNF-α (-308) and LT-α (+ 252) polymorphisms are different for NHL and ALL cases in various populations with different ethnicity. This research is designed to investigate the prevalence and association of TNF-α (-308) and LT-α (+ 252) polymorphisms from NHL and ALL in Azarian patients and healthy individuals from Northwestern part of Iran. Materials and Methods: Seventy subjects with ALL and 68 NHL, along with another 130 healthy subjects as control group took part in this study. In recent years, optimizing the energy consumption of buildings has become one of the important environmental and economic goals in sustainable architecture and urban planning. A group of factors affecting the energy consumption of buildings is their physical characteristics and form. In this regard, in the present research, the effect of volumetric porosity in high-rise buildings on their energy consumption has been investigated. The purpose of this research is to explain the correlation between the volumetric porosity of a building, as an independent variable, and its cooling and heating load, as a dependent variable, in a high-rise residential complex in Tehran. In this regard, first, a modular-generative model has been created in the Grasshopper plugin of Rhino software, which can create a porosity of 0 to 50% parametrically. Then, the cooling and heating load of each of the produced models in the city of Tehran and on the June 21 (summer solstice) and December 21 (winter solstice) were calculated using the Honeybee plugin, with standard settings. The data obtained from the simulation were entered into the SPSS software environment and the correlation test of the percentage of volume porosity and energy consumption was performed on the two aforementioned dates in Tehran. In order to validate the research method, this process was performed in 3 other climatic zones of Iran and the findings were compared with other studies in this field. The results of this research showed that the increase in porosity, assuming the number of modules is kept constant (the total volume of the building remains constant) and the site coverage ratio - as is common and inevitable in high-rise buildings - have a significant positive correlation with increased energy consumption in high-rise residential buildings in Tehran. Agent-based modeling (ABM) is a powerful tool that offers the flexibility to represent the stochasticity exhibited by swine systems due to individual animal nutritional requirements. ABM can also accurately mimic the biological dynamic growth performance of pigs. Addressing and simulating the biological growth dynamics enables precision nutrition and sustainable production management. To realistically replicate the nutrient requirement and growth performance of growing-finishing pigs, we developed an ABM based on the principles and equations from the eleventh Swine Nutrient Requirement Council Model. Each individual pig (agent) in the model had a starting weight of 20 kg and a fixed finishing weight of 140 kg, with a variable number of days on feed. Our model considers three sexes: gilt, barrow, and intact male. Pigs move through the farm, feed, and interact with the environment. Our model dynamically simulates the complex interactions between feed intake, metabolism, and growth processes of growing pigs, thereby being a virtual visualizable growing-finishing swine farm (Figure 1). The basic parameters of the biological growth of pigs, including the body weight, feed intake, metabolizable energy (ME) intake, maintenance ME requirements, protein deposition (Pd), lipid deposition (Ld), and probe backfat thickness Figure 2), were modeled based on NRC equations. In addition to the above parameters, the daily amino acid, calcium (Ca), and phosphorus (P) requirements for individual pigs were calculated daily. To demonstrate ABM responsiveness to feeding strategies, ractopamine supplementation is included to evaluate the impact on protein deposition. The ABM offers more personalized nutrition management by considering unique pig growth potential and nutritional needs based on characteristics such as age and sex, which can lead to improved growth performance and feed efficiency. Besides, the ABM enables the modeling of population-level dynamics and the evaluation of different feeding scenarios to optimize growth outcomes by allocating optimized feed based on individual nutritional needs. Our ABM will be used to test different feeding management strategies and scenarios, providing valuable insights into the impact of various factors on pig nutrition and growth outcomes while minimizing both time and financial expenditures. Our ABM aims to provide a robust framework for simulating and optimizing feeding strategies and enhancing overall pig production efficiency by leveraging the comprehensive and scientifically validated guidelines provided in the NRC. To verify the accuracy and reliability of the proposed ABM, the results generated by the model were rigorously evaluated and compared with the NRC model results. The results demonstrated a highly satisfactory prediction performance by our ABM, paving the way for more real-time decisions to be made for daily feed management on growing-finishing swine operations.
