U ovom radu je opisan Jest alat za automatizovano RESTful API testiranje veb aplikacije. Na studiji slučaja aplikacije za manipulaciju korisnika je ilustrovano korišćenje ovog alata za automatizovano testiranje realnih veb aplikacija. Objašnjeni i implemen­tirani su API testovi za svaku funkcionalnost aplikacije.

Introduction. This article presents the development of mathematical models related to the effect of the initial content of dry matter, yeast, and yeast energizer on the fermentation rate, the alcohol content, and the dry matter content in the finished product – mead. Study objects and methods. The mathematical models were developed by using the response surface methodology (RSM). The effect of yeast, dry matter, and yeast energizer contents were tested in concentration ranges of 150–600 mg/L, 16.3–24.4%, and 140–500 mg/L, respectively. The starting substrates used were honeydew honey and 10% apple juice. Yeast was rehydrated and added in different amounts to obtain required concentrations. Initial dry matter concentrations were measured by a refractometer. At the end of fermentation, oenological parameters of mead, namely dry matter content, pH, and ethanol yield, were determined according to standard methods. Results and discussion. The statistical estimation of the developed models and the individual model parameters showed that the initial dry matter content had a significant effect on the content of alcohol and dry matter in the final product. While, the initial content of yeast and yeast energizer did not have a significant effect in the tested concentration ranges. In addition, it was proved that the initial content of dry matter and yeast energizer had a significant effect on the fermentation rate, i.e. on the course of fermentation, which was described by a second-degree polynomial. Conclusion. We determined the optimum content of dry matter (24.4%), amount of yeast (150 mg/L), and concentration of yeast energizer (140 mg/L) in the initial raw material which provided the maximum alcohol yield at a consistent fermentation rate.

It is a new way of marketing a product / service globally in a target market around the world. This paper presents a new approach to understanding the role of the marketing mix in e-commerce. The importance of marketing in e-commerce is often accompanied by problems with the application of common marketing tools in a virtual environment. The paper identifies elements of the marketing mix in e-commerce in line with the trend of e-commerce and Internet technology. The aim of this paper is to point out the role of marketing mix in e-commerce by applying the 7P model that enables the structuring of changes in terms of trade and information services of online stores.

Before we ask the question of payroll tax and where we are looking for an answer, lets look at the Labor Law, which provides us with an employment relationship as such in which we exercise certain rights, one of which is the right to salary. What happens to the tax and who is obliged to submit to it, the Law clearly classifies, and this issue necessarily intertwines the economy and law and in correlation with the Constitution, is a necessary assumption of every citizen who contributes with his work, the state with which he is employed. we must not remain excluded from the sphere of interest.

The economic and legal dimension of the budget has always attracted the attention of researchers, both because of its dispositiveness and because of the once necessary stochasticity. This way of its existence and the conditions of its existence are precisely the subject of this paper. The indispensable efficiency of the public sector and its driving force in the conditions of modern existence of the social community and the assumptions that limit its activities complicate the position of the budget and its basic prerogatives as can be seen in all modern states, including ours. Legal constraints on the one hand and economic constraints on the other place the budget in a position that exists continuously, adjusting to the input side conditioned by budget revenues and the output side conditioned by budget expenditures. In this regard, respect for budget procedures and normative structure makes the budget extremely important for the study. In order to complete the budget procedure, after the budget year, the final account is made, which shows the accounting discrepancies and deviations of the execution by the executive from the budget approved by the legislature.

In everyday clinical practice, there is an ongoing debate about the nature of major depressive disorder (MDD) in patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD). The underlying research does not give us a clear distinction between those 2 entities, although depression is among the most frequent comorbid diagnosis in borderline personality patients. The notion that depression can be a distinct disorder but also a symptom in other psychopathologies led our team to try and delineate those 2 entities using 146 EEG recordings and machine learning. The utilized algorithms, developed solely for this purpose, could not differentiate those 2 entities, meaning that patients suffering from MDD did not have significantly different EEG in terms of patients diagnosed with MDD and BPD respecting the given data and methods used. By increasing the data set and the spatiotemporal specificity, one could have a more sensitive diagnostic approach when using EEG recordings. To our knowledge, this is the first study that used EEG recordings and advanced machine learning techniques and further confirmed the close interrelationship between those 2 entities.

This study considers the $$ (r{\mid }p) $$ hub–centroid problem under the price war, which was recently proposed in the literature. The objective is profit maximization by choosing the best hub and spoke topology, with the corresponding price structure, in a leader–follower setting. Because this bi–level optimization problem is NP–hard, the use of metaheuristics is a natural choice for solving real–size instances. A variable neighborhood search algorithm is designed as a solution approach for the leader. The characterization of optimal routes under the price equilibrium is given in order to simplify and improve the algorithm. When it comes to the follower, we have shown how to reformulate in a linear fashion the initial non–linear model. The computational experiments are conducted on the CAB instances. The results of these experiments are thoroughly discussed, highlighting the effects of different parameters and providing some interesting managerial insights.

Introduction. Mead, one of the oldest alcoholic beverages that man consumed is obtained by fermentation of honey solution, and contains from 8 to 18% vol. ethanol. Honey can be considered as an excellent source of carbohydrates for the fermentation process, but low concentrations of other substances in the honey can slow down the process. Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus L.) contains dietary fibers, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), vitamin A, vitamin E, potassium and calcium, along with the phenolic metabolites that are a source of possible health benefits. Study objects and methods. In this study was investigated the influence of blackberry juice addition on mead fermentation process, chemical composition and antioxidative activity. Dynamics of the fermentation process were controlled based on weighing the flasks in time on a scale every 24 h throughout the alcoholic fermentation. At the end of fermentations, oenological parameters of mead: dry matter content, pH, volatile acidity and ethanol content and reducing sugars. For the determination of antioxidative capacity the content of total phenolics, total flavonoids and total flavonols were measured and two tests were performed: DPPH and ABTS. Results and discussion. Addition of blackberry juice had a positive effect on fermentation dynamics (almost 25% higher rate of fermentation than in control samples), and improved all physicochemical characteristics and composition of resultant meads. Also, meads with the addition of blackberry juice had a significantly higher concentration of total phenolics, total flavonoids and total flavonols and significantly stronger antioxidative properties compared to the control meads without juice addition. The highest total phenolics, total flavonoids and total flavonols content was determined in the mead with the maximum addition of blackberry juice (B20W): it reached 490.88, 50.34 and 62.57 μgQE.mL–1, respectively, and was 6-fold higher for total phenolics and total flavonoids content, and 10-fold higher for total flavonols content than in the mead without juice addition (CW). The strongest antioxidative activity was determined in the B10W mead; it accounted for 6.98 μgTE.mL–1 (DPPH assay) and 0.65 μgTE.mL–1 (ABTS assay), what was 1.5-fold and 3-fold higher, respectively, than in the mead without juice addition (CW). Conclusion. The conducted study demonstrated that the use of blackberry juice influenced the course of fermentation of meads as well as their physicochemical and antioxidative properties (positive effect on fermentation dynamics – almost 25% higher rate of fermentation than in control samples, and improvement of all physicochemical characteristics and composition of resultant meads).

The problem of dividing political territories in electoral process is a very important factor which contributes to the development of democracy in modern political systems. The most significant criteria for fairness of electoral process are demographic, geographic and political. Demographic criterion in the first place refers to the population equality, while the geographic one is mostly represented by compactness, contiguity and integrity. In this paper we propose a new integer linear programming formulation for the problem of political districting. The model is based on the graph representation of political territory, where territorial units are vertices and direct links between them are edges. The correctness of integer linear programming formulation is mathematically proven. In contrast to the most of the previous formulations, all three major criteria, population equality, compactness and contiguity, are completely taken into consideration. There are two models, one which deals with afore mentioned criteria where compactness is taken as an objective function, and the other one which takes into account interests of the decision maker, i.e. the political ruling body which organizes elections. Several numerical examples for the presented models are given which illustrate general aspects of the problem. The experimental results are obtained using CPLEX solver.

With the significant impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the health, and the functioning of health care system, it has become increasingly important to understand changes in the ways health services were utilized and the factors influencing it. Drop in psychiatric admissions was seen during the pandemic, but also an increase in acute hospitalizations and emergency visits. Our aim was to analyze changes in out- and in-patient services utilization in the largest Croatian psychiatric institution during the first year of the pandemic, observed through the lens of the stringency index, and compare it to the pre-pandemic year. Along with an overall drop in hospitalizations, but a unit-specific rise in hospitalization, we have observed a non-significant overall drop in regular outpatient visits, and a significant drop coinciding with strictest epidemiological measures. There was also a significant increase in emergency visits coinciding with epidemiological measures that failed to return to pre-pandemic values, pointing to an expected significant and prolonged burden on emergency services. Simultaneous analysis of changing dynamics of mental health care service utilization during the pandemic helps us identify specific points of increased burden, and help us plan for early and flexible resources shift in order to adequately respond to evolving challenges.

Klinika za psihijatriju Vrapče je tijekom povijesti, kao središnja psihijatrijska institucija, imala ključnu ulogu u razvoju skrbi za psihičko zdravlje u Republici Hrvatskoj, ali i u formiranju slike o psihijatriji općenito. To se velikim dijelom odnosilo ne samo na ono što se pod njenim okriljem činilo, čini i namjerava činiti u stručnom pogledu, već i na ono kako to isto doživljavaju svi dionici skrbi za psihičko zdravlje, cjelokupna javnost i zajednica. Utoliko je Klinika u bitnome utjecala na način na koji se shvaćaju i prihvaćaju psihičke smetnje i poremećaji, način na koji se treba odnositi prema i pristupati osobama koje trpe i boluju. Samim time neprestano je sudjelovala, istovremeno na više razina, na promociji psihičkog zdravlja u široj zajednici. Dakle, promociju mentalnog zdravlja Klinika je činila na dvije razine-onoj spoznajnoj koja se je zrcalila na usvajanju suvremenih znanja i koncepata liječenja psihičkih poremećaja i onoj manje vidljivoj-emocionalnoj- kojom je oblikovala odnos spram psihijatrije, psihičkog bolesnika i zaposlenih u psihijatriji. Tijekom povijesti, u nedostatku mogućnosti potentnijeg liječenja, upravo na ovoj emocionalnoj razini formirali su se strahovi i odbacivanja, brojne predrasude koje danas konceptualiziramo kroz pojam stigmatizacije. Prepoznajući presudnu važnost tih doživljaja u suvremenim okolnostima, danas Klinika ulaže velike napore kako bi zajedno sa svim drugim dionicima pružanja skrbi za psihičko zdravlje upravljala na dobro svih onih kojima služi. Isto se podjednako odnosi na svakodnevni rad njezinih djelatnika ali i na njihovo sudjelovanje u brojnim nastavnim, obrazovnim, znanstvenim i istraživačkim aktivnostima. Bolnica je „otvorila „ vrata u pokušaju približavanja društvu. U tom smislu u bolnici djeluje srednja medicinska škola, otvoren je prvi muzej psihijatrije, otvorena je galerija, kafić, u njoj djeluje Župna crkva, sagrađena su brojna igrališta i prekrasan park. Djelatnici Klinike su gotovo na svakodnevnoj razini prisutni u sredstvima javnog priopćavanja, u kojima prenose poruke o važnosti psihičkog zdravlja i potrebu trajne usmjerenost na poboljšanje njegove kvalitete i sigurnosti. Klinika kontinuirano radi na destigmatizaciji psihijatrije kao struke u čemu zauzima jasan stav kako je vrlo važno definirati čime se zapravo psihijatrija treba baviti. Posebice stoga jer je tijekom povijesti, često glumeći „kazniteljicu“ socijalno nepoćudnih ponašanja, u najvećoj mjeri pokazivala svoju nemoć i time stigmatizirala samu sebe.

The research in this paper is focused on the analysis of the environmental performance indicators reporting impact in the context of sustainable development on the profitability of companies. The research focuses on 60 companies in the energy sector in Europe in the period 2012-2020. Reports on sustainable development of companies available in the database of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) were used for the collection of data. The independent variables in this study are nine indicators of the environmental performance of sustainable development. The dependent variable is the profitability of the company, which is measured by the rate of return on total assets (ROA). The method of multiple linear regression will be used to analyze the impact of reporting on environmental performance indicators of sustainable development on the profitability of energy companies in Europe. Empirical results of this research have shown that reporting on environmental performance indicators of sustainable development has a positive effect on company profitability indicators.

U ovom radu je definisan zemljotres kao prirodni hazard kao i proaktivne mere koje se mogu primeniti u cilju smanjenja njegovog štetnog delovanja. Detaljnije su analizirani zemljotresi sličnih magnituda u zonama istraživanja koje čine teritorije Srbije, Italije i Japana, kao i primena proaktivnih mera u zonama istraži­vanja. Cilj ovog rada je određivanje značaja proaktivnog delovanja u slučaju zemljotresa.

Cognition depends on resisting interference and responding to relevant stimuli. Distracting information, however, varies based on content, requiring distinct filtering mechanisms. For instance, affective information captures attention, disrupts performance and attenuates activation along frontal-parietal regions during cognitive engagement, while recruiting bottom-up regions. Conversely, distraction matching task features (i.e. task-similar) increases fronto-parietal activity. Neural mechanisms behind unique effects of different distraction on cognition remain unknown. Using fMRI in 45 adults, we tested whether affective versus task-similar interference show distinct signals during delayed working memory (WM). We found robust differences between distractor types along fronto-parietal versus affective-ventral neural systems. We studied a hypothesized mechanism of this effect via a biophysically-based computational WM model that implements a functional antagonism between affective/cognitive neural ‘modules’. This architecture reproduced experimental effects: task-similar distractors increased, whereas affective distractors attenuated cognitive module activity while increasing affective module signals. The model architecture suggested that task-based connectivity may be altered in affective-ventral vs. fronto-parietal networks depending on distractor type. Empirically, affective interference significantly increased connectivity within the affective-ventral network, but reduced connectivity between affective-ventral and fronto-parietal networks, which predicted WM performance. These findings detail an antagonistic architecture between cognitive and affective systems, capable of flexibly engaging distinct distractions during cognition.

The subject of the experimental tests presented in the paper is the influence of the mixing method on the physical and mechanical properties of fine-grained concrete with the nominally largest aggregate grain of 8 mm. Concretes with three different aggregate compositions (river, crushed and mixture with coarse recycled aggregate) were mixed using the usual approach, and then two-stage mixing approach (TSMA). Slump and flow, density and temperature were tested on fresh concrete. The compressive strength, flexural, splitting tensile strength, density, ultrasonic pulse velocity, and water absorption was recorded on hardened concrete. Concretes prepared using recycled aggregate, according to all the mentioned tests, can be used as an adequate replacement for concretes prepared using river or crushed aggregate, while the two-phase approach had the greatest effect on the increase of the splitting tensile strength.

In this paper, cotton, polyester and cotton/polyester fabrics were modified by using herbal extract of Picea omorika and copper ferrite nanoparticles and their antibacterial and dielectric properties were investigated. Antibacterial activities of all samples were examined against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Most of the fabrics modified by copper ferrite showed antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli, while the addition of the herbal extract improved their antibacterial protection. Dielectric properties were measured in frequency range from 24 Hz to 75 kHz at room temperature and the results showed that the modification of all three fabrics with copper ferrite caused increase in their electrical conductivity. The obtained results point to the possibility of using investigated fabrics for antibacterial protection as well as for the electromagnetic shielding application.

The application of locally available component materials (lime putty and zeolitic rock as pozzolanic admixture) in two types of rendering mortars (designed for inner and outer render layer), was assessed through TG/DTA, XRD and MIP analysis and by testing the compressive strength, dynamic modulus of elasticity, water transport behavior and open porosity of mortars cured under two different regimes. Higher levels of lime replacement with fine natural zeolite (40% and 50% by mass), for both render layers, led to 1.5 to 2.5 times higher values of compressive strength when cured in humid conditions. The changes in zeolite content led to different pore size distributions of mortars and influenced their water transport behavior and open porosity. Overall, mortars with 40% and 20% of zeolite addition for the inner and outer layer (by mass), respectively, showed the best agreement of properties, when cured in humid conditions.

This paper presents an experimental research of one type of green concrete in which Portland cement was replaced with two types of limestone filler of the same origin and mineralogical composition, but with a different fineness of particles. Ten concrete mixtures were designed in which 0%, 15%, 30% and 45% (by mass) of cement were replaced with filler. The water to cement ratio for each mixture was constant (w/c=0.54), and the water to powder ratio was decreasing with increasing cement replacement. Particle size distribution was selected using Funk and Dinger, as well as using Fuller's model. The results showed that it is possible to increase the compressive strength of concrete by reducing 45% of cement, but further research should be focused on improving the workability.

In order to create near-infrared (NIR) luminescent lanthanide complexes suitable for DNA-interaction, novel lanthanide dppz complexes with general formula [Ln(NO3)3(dppz)2] (Ln = Nd3+, Er3+ and Yb3+, dppz = dipyrido[3,2-a:2&prime, 3&prime, c]phenazine) were synthesized, characterized and their luminescence properties were investigated. In addition, analogous compounds with other lanthanide ions (Ln = Ce3+, Pr3+, Sm3+, Eu3+, Tb3+, Dy3+, Ho3+, Tm3+, Lu3+) were prepared. All complexes were characterized by IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis of the complexes (Ln = La3+, Ce3+, Pr3+, Nd3+, Eu3+, Er3+, Yb3+, Lu3+) showed that the lanthanide&rsquo, s first coordination sphere can be described as a bicapped dodecahedron, made up of two bidentate dppz ligands and three bidentate-coordinating nitrate anions. Efficient energy transfer was observed from the dppz ligand to the lanthanide ion (Nd3+, Er3+ and Yb3+), while relatively high luminescence lifetimes were detected for these complexes. In their excitation spectra, the maximum of the strong broad band is located at around 385 nm and this wavelength was further used for excitation of the chosen complexes. In their emission spectra, the following characteristic NIR emission peaks were observed: for a) Nd3+: 4F3/2 &rarr, 4I9/2 (870.8 nm), 4F3/2 &rarr, 4I11/2 (1052.7 nm) and 4F3/2 &rarr, 4I13/2 (1334.5 nm), b) Er3+: 4I13/2 &rarr, 4I15/2 (1529.0 nm) c) Yb3+: 2F5/2 &rarr, 2F7/2 (977.6 nm). While its low triplet energy level is ideally suited for efficient sensitization of Nd3+ and Er3+, the dppz ligand is considered not favorable as a sensitizer for most of the visible emitting lanthanide ions, due to its low-lying triplet level, which is too low for the accepting levels of most visible emitting lanthanides. Furthermore, the DNA intercalation ability of the [Nd(NO3)3(dppz)2] complex with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) was confirmed using fluorescence spectroscopy.

Electric power in Serbia is predominantly provided by thermal power plants. All of eleven existing thermal power plants in Serbia use coal, mainly lignite in the electricity production process thus generating about 6 million tons of fly ash per year. The estimated amount of fly ash from thermal power plants accumulated in Serbian landfills exceeds 200 million tons. On the other hand, during the last decades, respecting the principles of ecologically sustainable development has been imposed on industries, and one of them is the construction industry. Due to the presence of amorphous SiO2 and Al2O3, fly ash as pozzolanic material is convenient for the production of concrete and mortar. Consequently, multiple positive effects can be expected by the proper consumption of fly ash- reducing landfills and improving concrete properties. The idea of this study is to analyze the possibility of recycling fly ash from a thermal power plant by replacing a part of common mineral filler- limestone in the production of self-compacting concrete (SCC). Properties of conventional SCC with limestone and compositions with different fly ash content were compared. Considering that requirements for SCC should be satisfied and all properties remain or enhance in the case of fly ash addition, this study proved that all designed concretes can be used for structural applications. Električnu energiju u Srbiji pretežno obezbeđuju termoelektrane. Svih jedanaest termoelektrana u Srbiji koriste ugalj, uglavnom lignit u procesu proizvodnje električne energije, čime se godišnje generiše oko 6 miliona tona letećeg pepela. Procenjena količina letećeg pepela iz termoelektrana akumulirana na deponijama u Srbiji prelazi 200 miliona tona. S druge strane, poslednjih decenija poštovanje principa ekološki održivog razvoja nametnuto je industrijama, a jedna od njih je i građevinska. Zahvaljujući prisustvu amorfnog SiO2 i Al2O3, pepeo kao pucolanski materijal pogodan je za proizvodnju betona i maltera. Zbog toga se pravilnom upotrebom letećeg pepela mogu očekivati višestruki pozitivni efekti- smanjenje deponija i poboljšanje svojstava betona. Ideja ovog istraživanja je analiziranje mogućnosti recikliranja letećeg pepela iz termoelektrane tako što će delimično zameniti uobičajeni mineralni punioc- krečnjak u proizvodnji samozbijajućeg betona (SCC). Upoređena su svojstva konvencionalnog SCC sa krečnjakom i kompozicija sa različitim sadržajem pepela. S obzirom da je u slučaju dodatka letećeg pepela potrebno da budu zadovoljeni zahtevi za SCC, kao i da svojstva betona ostanu ista ili poboljšana, ova studija je pokazala da se sve dizajnirane smeše mogu koristiti za konstrukcijske primene.

Due to the Portland cement chemical reaction, which always takes place in a hardening concrete, a certain amount of heat is released. This heat should be quantified, as it can harm or aid the concrete itself, depending on the concrete components, structure element, ambient and building site conditions. There are number of possible setups for the monitoring of heat of hydration, two of which have been applied in the case presented in this paper. Four concretes were monitored with the use of the two stated techniques for 24 hours. First technique used is thermo-vision camera which monitored the surface, and the second is thermosensor - used for monitoring of interior of fresh concrete hardening mass. The potential of the applied setup lays in the ease of installation, low price, and possibilities of mass application, which could substantially aid the monitoring and prevent concrete failure.

The objective of this study was to examine the effect of different treatments on the physicochemical, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties of honeydew honey. Honeydew honey was subjected to heat treatment and 9 different ultrasound treatments. Our results showed that the following parameters were significantly changed: water content, pH, electrical conductivity, diastase activity, HMF content and water activity. The ultrasound resulted in an increase in the total phenol content and the antioxidant capacity (DPPH, FRAP, and ABTS tests) in comparison with the conventional thermal technique. In most cases, the samples subjected to ultrasound improved the antibacterial activity; the heat treatment resulted in a significant reduction of the antibacterial activity, and sample 4 (ultrasound 30 °C, 5 min) showed the best antibacterial activity. The ultrasound treatment, especially at lower temperatures, represents a technique that enables the preservation and improvement of the biological properties of honeydew honey.

The estimation of growth or inactivation of bacterial population in fruits during preservation and storage provides useful information for the improvement of the safety of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables. This paper addressed the attachment to the surface and the growth in the flesh of apple fruits of four bacterial cultures (Escherichia coli, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa). The growth of the bacterial cultures in apple flesh was monitored at particular time intervals, and Gompertz parameters, i.e. maximum number of bacteria (P(m)), the maximum growth rate of bacteria r(p,m), and lag time t(l), were used to determine the growth kinetics. After the immersion, the highest number of P. aeruginosa and the lowest number of B. cereus adhered to the apples. After washing and swabbing, E. coli was reduced from the surface of apples to the highest extent (by 3.34 log cfu g(−1)), while the number of B. cereus was reduced to the lowest extent (1.66 log cfu g(−1)). The monocationic chloro complexes containing chelating N∩N ligands: [(η6-p-cymene)Ru(L1-4)Cl]+(1-4), where L1 = 4-methyl-1,10-phenantroline, L2 = dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine, L3 = 11-chloro-dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine, L4 = 11-nitro-dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine; p-cymene = 1-methyl-4-isopropylbenzene) have been prepared and characterized as the hexafluorophosphate salts. The biological activity of 1-4 has been investigated in selected 2D monolayer cell cultures (A549, PANC-1, MDA-MB-231, MRC-5). All investigated ruthenium complexes showed similar or even better cytotoxicity to cisplatin. However, there was no significant reduction in growth of PANC-1 cells in a 3D cell culture of multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTS) after treatment with 2-4, while the cisplatin treatment induced retardation in MCTS growth. Flow cytometry analysis of the cell cycle of PANC-1 cells shows that 3 caused changes of cell cycle phase distribution characterized by slight accumulation of cells in the G2-M phase. Absence of the Sub-G1 phase in the cell cycle of the treated cells indicated that there was no fragmentation of DNA for the analyzed time intervals (48 and 72 h treatment). Fluorescent microscopy, after acridine orange/ethidium bromide staining, revealed that the investigated ruthenium complexes induced some characteristics of apoptotic morphology (shrinking and condensation of chromatin) with notably preserved integrity of the plasma membrane. Investigation of cellular uptake and DNA - fraction accumulation performed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry in PANC-1 cells with equimolar concentrations (5 μM) of 2-4 and cisplatin showed more efficient cellular uptake and DNA - fraction accumulation of complex 3 compared to complexes 2 and 4.

For the purposes of draining material deposited in the tailings pond under construction, there was aneed to examine the properties of the high-density polyethylene drain tubes and the consistingmaterials in order to assess their adequacy in the specific conditions. The conducted laboratoryinvestigations of the samples cut from the tubes included: determination of bulk density, tensilestrength in the tangential direction, as well as the compressive strength in a radial direction.Representative samples of the tubes themselves were tested in two different loading dispositions, inorder to record the load-deflection effects. The test results indicated the specific behavior of thetested material in service conditions.

Inhibitors of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP-1) showed remarkable clinical efficacy in BRCA-mutated tumors. Based on the rational drug design, derivatives of PARP inhibitor 3-aminobenzamide (3-AB), 2-amino-4-methylbenzamide (L1) and 3-amino-N-methylbenzamide (L2), were coordinated to the ruthenium(II) ion, to form potential drugs affecting DNA and inhibiting PARP enzyme. The four conjugated complexes of formula: C1 [(ƞ6-toluene)Ru(L1)Cl]PF6, C2 [(ƞ6-p-cymene)Ru(L1)Cl]PF6, C3 [(ƞ6-toluene)Ru(L2)Cl2] and C4 [(ƞ6-p-cymene)Ru(L2)Cl2], have been synthesized and characterized. Colorimetric 3-(4.5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2.5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay showed the highest antiproliferative activity of C1 in HCC1937, MDA-MB-231, and MCF-7 breast cancer cells. Efficiency of inhibition of PARP-1 enzymatic activity in vitro decreased in order: C2 > C4 > 3-AB>C1 > C3. ICP-MS study of intracellular accumulation and distribution in BRCA1-mutated HCC1937 revealed that C1-C4 entered cells within 24 h. The complex C1 showed the highest intracellular accumulation, nuclear-targeting properties, and exhibited the highest DNA binding (39.2 ± 0.6 pg of Ru per μg of DNA) that resulted in the cell cycle arrest in the S phase. There is a great need within the limiting context of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic to resume educational activities. However, they will need to be modified for the foreseeable future following the pandemic, as certain measures such as social distancing will be applied or at least recommended for a long time.

Human ratings of conceptual disorganization, poverty of content, referential cohesion and illogical thinking have been shown to predict psychosis onset in prospective clinical high risk (CHR) cohort studies. The potential value of linguistic biomarkers has been significantly magnified, however, by recent advances in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML). Such methodologies allow for the rapid and objective measurement of language features, many of which are not easily recognized by human raters. Here we review the key findings on language production disturbance in psychosis. We also describe recent advances in the computational methods used to analyze language data, including methods for the automatic measurement of discourse coherence, syntactic complexity, poverty of content, referential coherence, and metaphorical language. Linguistic biomarkers of psychosis risk are now undergoing cross-validation, with attention to harmonization of methods. Future directions in extended CHR networks include studies of sources of variance, and combination with other promising biomarkers of psychosis risk, such as cognitive and sensory processing impairments likely to be related to language. Implications for the broader study of social communication, including reciprocal prosody, face expression and gesture, are discussed.
