The current study investigated the non-linear optical characteristics of a mix of (Rhodamine B) and (Methyl Violet 10 B) organic laser dyes as solutions and thin films doped with (PVA) polymer and (Ag) nanoparticles dissolved in ethanol using a very sensitive technique called the Z-Scan technique. The Z-Scan experiment was carried out using a continuous wave (CW) diode solid state laser operating at (457 nm) wavelength and (84 mW power, with the first part utilizing a close aperture and the second half using an open aperture. Drop cast thin film samples were made on glass substrates. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is a technique used to characterize thin film materials. Due to the high nonlinear optical characteristics of all samples, the results indicate that thin films of all samples are a viable material for nonlinear optical applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The influence of concentration on the optical properties (linear and non-linear) of malachite green organic laser dye melted in ethanol solvent was investigated in this work at concentrations (10−4 and 10−5) M. All samples' linear optical characteristics were determined using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. Organic laser dyes have a wavelength range of (200-420) nm. In all cases, Z-Scan was used to determine nonlinear optical properties. The results reveal that all samples with a concentration of (10−4) M have extremely large linear and nonlinear optical characteristics in comparison to samples with a concentration of (10−5) M. As a result, this organic dye has the potential to be employed as an active laser medium and as a component of photonic systems, including optical power limiting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the current work, the optical nonlinearities and optical limiting behaviors for mixture of two organic laser dyes: Rhoda mine B (RB) and Methyl violet (10B) dissolved in ethanol solvent at concentration (10−6) M, have been measured utilizing Z-Scan setup. The measurement was completed using continuous wave(CW) diode pump solid state laser at wavelength(457 nm) and power (84mW).The closed-case Z-scans of all samples give self-defocousing phenomena. The consequences of the open-case of all samples give two photon absorbtion. Non-linear optical properties of mixture dye is larger than those for single dyes. The results revealed that all samples can be a good candidate for optoelectronic and photonic applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
