The introduction of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing in rehabilitation with removable partial denture, enabled the emergence of new methods of fabrication of the framework and materials. In view of this, polyether-ether-ketone appears as an alternative to Cobalt-Chromium, due to its aesthetic properties, high resistance and for being non-allergic. In this sense, the present study aimed to report a clinical case where the framework of a removable partial denture was manufactured from a digital workflow, using polyether-ether-ketone as the material of choice, compared to a removable partial denture made with a cobalt-chromium framework. In this case, it was possible to perceive that the use of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing technology for the construction of a removable partial denture framework of polyether-ether-ketone resulted in a denture with adequate adaptation and good aesthetics. Patient satisfaction, comfort, retention, number of follow-up sessions, masticatory performance and quality of life were evaluated. Compared with the conventional denture, the polyether-ether-ketone framework denture provided better satisfaction and comfort. Both prostheses showed similar results in terms of masticatory performance and in terms of quality of life, however the polyether-ether-ketone framework denture showed better results. In conclusion, polyether-ether-ketone proved to be a viable material for making removable partial denture framework. However, controlled and randomized clinical trials are needed to demonstrate the benefits of this treatment as an alternative in relation to the conventional denture.

Statement of problem The digitalization of completely edentulous arches presents limitations because of the lack of anatomic structures for best-fit alignment during the image generation process of the scanner’s software program. Purpose The purpose of this clinical study was to evaluate a new device for intraoral scanning and to analyze its usefulness in capturing the 3-dimensional (3D) position of implants in edentulous mandibular arches. Material and methods The 3D positions of 40 implants in 10 participants with fixed interim mandibular prostheses were evaluated by comparing 3 scanning techniques. Images were generated in 2 experimental groups, with digital scan bodies (group SC) and with the scanning device (group SD) and in a control group (group CT) in which images were obtained by laboratory scanning of casts produced from splinted impression copings. The standard tessellation language (STL) files were superimposed by using a reverse engineering software program to measure the 3D coordinate system. Variations in implant linear displacements (Δx, Δy, and Δz), total 3D displacement ( Δ x 2 + Δ y 2 + Δ z 2 ), and angle projections (ΔθXY, ΔθXZ, and ΔθYZ) were statistically analyzed (α=.05). The distances between the implants were also measured. The Spearman correlation coefficient (α=.05) was used to find the correlation between the 3D coordinates and the distances between the implants. Results Group SD had lower values for linear displacement than group SC; however, this difference was not statistically significant except for implant #2. The overall evaluation showed a significant difference with better accuracy for group SD. Concerning angular displacements, group SD showed lesser angular variation for the 3 projection planes. For the distances between the implants, significant differences were only observed for the “all” assessment in which group SD behaved similarly to group CT, while group SC showed the highest values (P Conclusions The evaluated scanning device led to improved trueness for linear, angular displacements, and distances between implants in mandibular edentulous arches.

Purpose. The aim of this study was to assess the occurrence and type of complications with mandibular Kennedy Class I removable partial denture (RPD) over time. Materials and Methods. A total of 65 patients wearing mandibular free-end RPD and maxillary complete denture (CD) treated at the Department of Dentistry of Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) were evaluated. The tests were conducted after 2, 6 and 12 months. Annual follow-up was also accomplished after the 12-month evaluation. Complications or failures were recorded in a specific clinical report over 39 months. The failures were classified as: ulceration after 2 months of denture insertion, loss of retention, fracture or caries in rest seat, fracture or displacement of artificial teeth, fracture of a major connector, fracture of a clasp, fracture of the rest, relining and fracture of the denture. Results. Low complication rate was reported and most of the cases occurred after 2 years of denture insertion. Loss of retention was the most common complication (31.57%). Fracture of the metallic framework components was not a frequent occurrence and only one patient reported a fracture of a major connector (5.3%). Conclusion. The treatment with mandibular free-end RPD showed low failure rates after 39 months of periodical follow-up.

Introduction: The preparation of parallel axial wall guide planes in abutment teeth is essential for providing a correct path of insertion and removal axis for removable partial dentures (RPDs). With the introduction of digital resources, new alternatives to the conventional method can be used to manufacture guide preparation for guide planes. Aims: To describe the use of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology for the manufacture of guide planes to guide the reduction of the axial walls of abutment teeth according to the insertion and removal axis of the RPD. Methods: This technique used the “bite splint” module of the Dental Wings software for the virtual planning of guide planes, to promote the construction of axial walls parallel to the abutment teeth. This was performed from the virtual design on a standard tessellation language (STL) file obtained by intraoral scanning, which determined the best trajectory for insertion and removal of the metallic structure. Conclusion: Digital technology allows the design and production of guide planes for the preparation of abutment teeth, simplifying the conventionally used technique, with precision and speed.

To identify the most effective bonding protocol between the denture base and artificial teeth made with different CAD/CAM materials (milled and 3D printed) compared to conventional heat-cured materials.This review was performed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) criteria and registered in PROSPERO (CRD42021276084). An electronic search was performed independently by two examiners in the MEDLINE/PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Web of Science, ProQuest, and OpenGrey databases for articles published up to and including December 2021.The electronic search returned 806 articles, and after duplicates were removed, the total was 589 articles. Four articles were selected according to the eligibility criteria. Evaluating the different combinations of denture base materials and artificial teeth, the IvoBase CAD Bond (Ivoclar Vivadent) was effective for bonding the CAD/CAM denture bases to prefabricated acrylic resin denture artificial teeth. There were no differences compared to heat-cured denture base bonding to prefabricated acrylic resin denture artificial teeth (χIvoBase CAD Bond as a bonding system can be an alternative for using new technologies in the fabrication of α CAD/CAM base with prefabricated acrylic resin denture artificial teeth.

This technical report describes a novel workflow for complete denture fabrication designed to abbreviate the necessary steps for dental prostheses delivery by using a 3-appointment protocol in which preliminary impressions are made in the first session together with the registration of maxillary lip support, occlusal plane, and reference lines for tooth arrangement. A trial denture is fabricated with conventional or computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing procedures and is evaluated in the second appointment for esthetics, the definitive impression, and the maxillomandibular relationship record to provide precise references for definitive denture fabrication.

Objetivo: O presente estudo tem por objetivo descrever através de uma revisão de literatura sobre a ocorrência de alterações significativas na pressão arterial sistêmica de pacientes submetidos a procedimentos cirúrgicos odontológicos. Metodologia: Esta revisão de literatura foi conduzida por meio das seguintes bases de dados: Pubmed, Scielo e Google Scholar. As palavras-chave para a busca textual foram: Cirurgia Oral (Surgery, Oral); Hipertensão (Hypertension); Ansiedade (Anxiety); Odontologia (Dentistry). Já os critérios de inclusão foram: Literatura que aborde a temática em estudo, Literatura dos últimos anos, Idioma: Inglês e Português, estudos laboratoriais e clínicos e revisão sistemática. Os critérios de exclusão foram: revisão de literatura, carta ao editor, artigo de opinião, literatura duplicada em bases de dados e literatura que não abordasse as variáveis em estudo. Revisão de Literatura: Durante a prática clínica o cirurgião-dentista lida rotineiramente com pacientes sistemicamente comprometidos. Dentre eles encontram-se os pacientes hipertensos que necessitam de uma atenção diferenciada devido a diversos fatores externos que podem influenciar sua condição sistêmica. Conclusão: Existe uma variação da Pressão Arterial durante todo procedimento cirúrgico odontológico, o momento que essa alteração torna-se mais evidente é após a anestesia; estas variações por sua vez podem ser atribuídas à ansiedade e ao estresse causado pelo ato cirúrgico; a redução do estresse bem como o controle da ansiedade e do medo frente a um tratamento odontológico são benefícios no atendimento de pacientes hipertensos.

Statement of problem The direct digitalization of completely edentulous arches rehabilitated with multiple implants still represents a limitation regarding obtaining accurate images for prosthetic purposes. Purpose The purpose of this systematic review was to present the factors that may influence the accuracy of intraoral scanning of completely edentulous arches. Material and methods This review was carried out according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) criteria and registered with International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) (CRD42020171021). Three examiners performed an electronic search in the Medline/PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and Web of Science databases for articles published up to January 2021. Results The electronic search resulted in 11 498 studies. After removing duplicates, 11 347 studies remained. Twelve studies were selected (10 in vitro and 2 in vivo) according to the eligibility criteria. Several factors were found to influence the performance of intraoral scanners (Carestream Dental and TRIOS, 3Shape presented the best results), the intraoral scanning technique (Promoting physical paths that join the digitization bodies can increase the accuracy of transferring the position of the implants), environmental conditions (temperature: 20 °C to 21 °C, air pressure: 750 to 760 ±5 mmHg, air humidity: 45%, angle and distance between the implants: up to 15 degrees and 16 to 22 mm, and the material of the scan body: PEEK more accurate). Conclusions The accuracy of the intraoral scanning of completely edentulous arches is affected by factors such as the type of intraoral scanner, scanning technique, environmental conditions, angle and distance between implants, and material of the scan bodies.

The objective of this case report was to describe the clinical sequence for occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) recovering with the manufacture of removable partial dentures (RPD) produced by computer-aided design and rapid prototyping. The patient presented to the Dentistry Department of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte reporting dissatisfaction with the superior RPD. At clinical investigation, a fracture in the minor connector and support at the region of tooth 15 was observed, in addition to severe OVD loss. In this case, after obtaining correct OVD, four more sessions were necessary for RPD fabrication. In the first appointment, intraoral scanning was performed to generate STL files used for path of insertion determination in the CAD software. The need for a guide plane on tooth 15 was observed, thus a preparation guide was designed and 3Dprinted to aid axial tooth reduction. At the second visit, after mouth preparation, another intraoral scanning was performed to acquire virtual working models. The RPD framework was designed and 3D printed in a castable resin pattern and invested for cobalt-chromium alloy melting. In the third visit, clinical evaluation of the framework and teeth and artificial gingiva colors selection were performed. The articulated models were then 3D printed, enabling pre-fabricated teeth to be assembled and acrylized. On the fourth appointment, RPD was installed and the patient received routine instructions. In this sense, the use of CAD/CAM technologies presented as a valuable tool to enhance restoration of OVD by the manufacturing of RPD. El objetivo de este reporte de caso fue describir la secuencia clínica del restablecimiento de la dimensión oclusal vertical (OVD) con la fabricación de prótesis parciales removibles (PPR) producidas por diseño asistido por computadora y prototipado rápido. El paciente se presentó al Departamento de Odontología de la Universidad Federal de Rio Grande do Norte, refiriendo insatisfacción con el PPR superior. Clínicamente se observó fractura del conector menor y soporte en la región del diente 15, además de pérdida de DVO. En este caso, tras el restablecimiento del DVO, fueron necesarias cuatro sesiones más para la fabricación del PPR. En el primero, se realizó un escaneo intraoral para obtener los archivos STL utilizados para determinar el eje de inserción en el software CAD. Se observó la necesidad de un plano guía en el diente 15, por lo que se diseñó e imprimió una guía de preparación en 3D para la reducción axial del diente. En el segundo tras la preparación de la boca, se realizó un nuevo escaneo intraoral para adquirir los modelos de trabajo virtuales. La estructura de PPR fue diseñada e impresa en un patrón de resina fundible y pensada para fundir la aleación de cobalto-cromo. En el tercero se realizó una evaluación clínica de la estructura y selección de los dientes y el color de la encía artificial. A continuación, los modelos articulados se imprimieron en 3D, lo que permitió el montaje y la acrilación de los dientes prefabricados. En el cuarto, se instaló el PPR y el paciente recibió instrucciones de rutina. Así, el uso de tecnologías CAD-CAM se presenta como una valiosa herramienta para la fabricación de PPR con la necesidad de restablecer DVO. O objetivo deste relato de caso foi descrever a sequência clínica do reestabelecimento da dimensão vertical oclusal (OVD) com a confecção de próteses parciais removíveis (PPR) produzida por desenho auxiliado por computador e prototipagem rápida. A paciente apresentou-se ao Departamento de Odontologia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, relatando insatisfação com o PPR superior. Clinicamente, observou-se fratura do conector menor e apoio na região do dente 15, além de perda de DVO. Neste caso, após o reestabelecimento da DVO, mais quatro sessões foram necessárias para a fabricação da PPR. Na primeira, foi realizado o escaneamento intraoral para obtenção dos arquivos STL utilizados para determinação do eixo de inserção no software CAD. Observou-se a necessidade de um plano-guia no dente 15, portanto, um guia de preparo foi desenhado e impresso em 3D para redução axial do dente. Na segunda, após o preparo de boca, foi realizada um novo escaneamento intraoral para aquisição dos modelos virtuais de trabalho. A estrutura da PPR foi projetada e impressa em um padrão de resina fundível e destinada à fusão da liga de cobalto-cromo. Na terceira, foi realizada uma avaliação clínica da estrutura e seleção dos dentes e cor da gengiva artificial. Os modelos articulados foram então impressos em 3D, permitindo a montagem e acrilização dos dentes pré-fabricados. Na quarta, a PPR foi instalada e o paciente recebeu instruções de rotina. Assim, o uso de tecnologias CAD-CAM se apresenta como uma ferramenta valiosa para a fabricação de PPR com necessidade de reestabelecimento de DVO.

For this, a device was designed to accurately capture the position of multiple implants and the associated digitalized surgical guide, and the metal substructure was planned and milled directly in cobalt-chromium. The color of the gingiva and artificial teeth was selected by using the intraoral scanner software program, and the prosthesis base was processed conventionally. The straightforward methods used to fabricate the prostheses eliminated possible errors associated with conventional substructure casting and occlusal registration. PURPOSE To evaluate and compare the effect of impression type (conventional vs digital) and the number of implants on the time from the impressions to the generation of working casts of mandibular implant-supported fixed complete-arch frameworks, as well as on patient satisfaction. MATERIALS AND METHODS 17 participants, 3 or 4 implants, received 2 types of digital impression methods (DI) and conventional (CI). In DI, two techniques were performed: scanning with the scan bodies (SC) and scanning with a device attached to the scan bodies (SD) (BR 10 2019 026265 6). In CI, the making of a solid index (SI) and open-tray impression (OT) were used. The outcomes were used to evaluate the time and the participant satisfaction with conventional and digital impressions. The time was evaluated through the timing of the time obtained in the workflow in the conventional and digital impression. The effect of the number of implants on time was also assessed. Satisfaction was assessed through a questionnaire based on seven. The Wilcoxon test used to identify the statistical difference between the groups in terms of time. The Mann-Whitney test was used to analyze the relationship between the time and the number of implants. Fisher's test was used to assess the patient satisfaction (P < .05). RESULTS The time with DI was shorter than with CI (DI, x̃=02:58; CI, x̃=31:48) (P < .0001). The arches rehabilitated with 3 implants required shorter digital impression time (3: x̃=05:36; 4: x̃=09:16) (P < .0001). Regarding satisfaction, the DI was more comfortable and pain-free than the CI (P < .005). CONCLUSION Digital impressions required shorter chair time and had higher patient acceptance than conventional impressions.

The aim of this research is to compare the fluorescence of different trademarks of composite resins under ultraviolet light, indicating through the optical characteristics the restorative materials that best mimic the properties of dental fluorescence. In this study, nine composite resin trademarks of EA2 color were evaluated, and ten test samples were prepared for each material, totalizing ninety specimens. The specimens were produced from a bipartite aluminium matrix (10x2 mm), and then stored for 24 h in tubes of radiographic films, immersed in distilled water and after 48 h it were polished. A blind-type study (four evaluators) was used and the samples were analyzed in a dark wooden chamber where it was coupled two black lamps. In the data collection phase, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, ANOVA and Post Hoc of Tukey were used (adopting a significance level of 0.05). It was noted that the composite resin of the trademark Ultrafill was more fluorescent and Luna was statistically less fluorescent than all other materials, while Opallis and Tetric were superior to Glacier. There was no significant statistical difference among the composite resins Premissa, Point 4, Llis and Premium.

The objective of this case study is to present the manufacturing process and delivery of a removable partial denture (RPD) using computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology.A 46-year-old female patient presented at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte complaining of the lack of retention in her mandibular RPD. After the design and preparation of the abutment teeth, further appointments were made. In the first appointment, intraoral scanning (IOS) with a Trios scanner was performed, followed by virtual planning of the framework. The RPD was then printed, invested, cast by induction, and polished. In the second appointment, the RPD was delivered.The technique proved to be efficient in terms of clinical time and sufficient for patient comfort and satisfaction.

Neste trabalho, cujo tema é avaliação da diferença de retenção e estabilidade da prótese total usando materiais anelásticos e elásticos na moldagem funcional: um relato de caso, foi estudado os materiais elásticos e anelásticos utilizados na moldagem funcional de uma prótese total, avaliando os pré-requisitos retenção e estabilidade, buscando reconhecer o material que apresenta maior vantagem para uso cotidiano na clínica, onde o mesmo apresente uma boa manipulação, garanta um conforto ao paciente e apresente um resultado funcional satisfatório. Decidiu-se realizar este estudo em meio as dificuldades clínicas encontradas e também relatos sobre a dificuldade em escolher um material, em meio a tantos, para realizar a moldagem funcional, que é uma etapa essencial na confecção de uma prótese. Sabendo da variedade de materiais existentes, buscou-se um conhecimimento prático que indicasse um material que possa ser escolhido para essa moldagem com mais segurança, que apresente ao final uma prótese com boa retenção e estabilidade. Realizou-se coleta no prontuário de uma paciente onde haviam sido confeccionadas duas próteses totais, onde uma foi utilizado na moldagem funcional um material elástico e na outra um material anelástico. É possível perceber na prática clínica que um grande número de profissionais utilizam mais os materiais elásticos na moldagem pelas vantagens apresentadas, vantagens essas que foram possível vivenciar neste estudo, como uma melhor manipulação, manuseio, limpeza dos resíduos e o resultado final.

Objetivo: El objetivo del presente estudio fue describir el perfil de los pacientes con traumas de cara ocurridos en accidentes con motocicletas en Brasil. Métodos: El estudio consistió en una revisión integrativa basada en la literatura. Las bases de datos consultadas fueron el Scientific Electronic Library on-line (SciELO) y la National Library of Medicine (PubMed), utilizando los siguientes descriptores: Accidentes de Tránsito, Epidemiología y Traumatismos Faciales, de acuerdo con las terminologías consultadas en los Descriptores en Ciencias de la Salud (DECS-BIREME). La búsqueda consideró las publicaciones publicados entre los años 1995 a 2015. Resultados: En cuanto al sexo masculino, los individuos jóvenes prevalecieron en el 100% de los estudios. Sólo el 23,5% de los estudios presentaron el nivel de escolaridad de los pacientes, la condición de salud de las víctimas en el 64,7% de los casos se presentó con fracturas y traumas. La región más traumatizada fue la cara en el 41,1% de los casos, en relación al tipo de lesión en el 17% de los casos se dio por trauma y el 6,4% se dio por contusiones. En el 24,5% de los estudios las víctimas hicieron uso de bebidas alcohólicas y el 29,4% no utilizaba el casco en el momento del accidente. Conclusión: Ante ello es necesario que estudios que identifiquen o tracen el perfil de esos individuos, determinando tipo de accidentes y compromisos sean realizados de forma más detallada, para producir subsidios necesarios para la planificación de políticas públicas en salud y promoción de medidas preventivas.Descriptores: Accidentes de Tránsito; Epidemiología; Traumatismos Faciales.ReferênciasSantos LNM. Aim: To describe the main characteristics of the treatment techniques for oroantral communications and fistulas. Methodology: This work was accomplished from scientific articles found in the bibliographic catalogued databases PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar and ResearchGate searcher, under the English descriptors Oroantral Fistula, Oral Fistula, Maxillary Sinus and Surgery Oral, published until the end of the first trimester of the year 2018. Results: The oroantral communications allow the passage of food, liquids, and microorganisms, causing maxillary sinusitis; the diagnosis is made from anamnesis, clinical examination and complementary imaging tests. The treatment need an approach that presents the capacity to promote closure of the communication or fistula, leading to the recovery of health and depending on the characteristics of each case, it may vary from the need to use a simpler and easier to handle flap such as vestibular flap, palatal flap rotation or a combination of these, until the need to perform a more complex as the rotation of the adipose Bichat\'s bulla. Conclusion:The professional who performs dental extractions must be able to treat these complications, otherwise he should consider referral to a specialist when, clinical and complementary examinations, the communication risk is perceived.

The relentless pursuit of Dentistry in rehabilitating patients, provided an improvement in the quality of life of the population. This study aims to demonstrate the importance of the use of Removable Temporary Partial Dentures to of the Overlay type in the oral rehabilitation of patients through a review of the literature. It was used the main electronic databases of cataloging bibliography (Pubmed, Scielo, BVS), in the period 2000 to 2016, employing the following descriptors: Vertical Dimension, Removable Partial Prosthetic, Coating of Dentures. Were identified 35 articles, 16 of which were excluded because they did not fit the established criteria for inclusion, resulting in a total of nineteen 19 selected articles. The removable partial prosthetic overlay is areversible treatment option, the changes in structures of the tooth remnants are minimal, clinically it is easy to be performed, in addition to the reduced cost and time to be smaller. Although there are benefits, care should be taken with the oral hygiene of the prosthesis, topical applications of fluoride and frequent visits to the dentist. It is concluded that the PPR-overlay are used for patients with accentuated dental wear associated with the change of the vertical dimension of the occlusion, on the other hand, studies still need to be carried out in order to ensure the effectiveness and feasibility of this type of prosthesis, once, they are not applicable in all clinical cases.

Introdução: Os linfomas de células B acometem cerca de 90% de todos os casos de linfoma. O linfoma difuso de grandes células B é a forma mais comum dos linfomas não Hodgkin e acomete principalmente adultos, mas também se manifestam em crianças, com apenas 2% localizados na cavidade oral. Objetivos: Relatar o diagnóstico e tratamento de um linfoma não Hodgkin localizado em cavidade oral de paciente pediátrico. Relato de Caso: Paciente do gênero masculino, 07 anos, apresentando aumento de volume em região de maxila posterior direita, com 05 meses de evolução e exame tomográfico evidenciando áreas de reabsorção óssea com acometimento do seio maxilar direito. Para realização do diagnóstico o paciente inicialmente foi submetido a biópsia incisional com remoção dos elementos dentários associados à lesão e resultado histopatológico de lesão linfoproliferativa, confirmando o diagnóstico de Linfoma não-Hodgkin difuso de grandes células B após imuno-histoquímica. Em seguida o paciente foi encaminhado para tratamento quimioterápico e após 01 ano de quimioterapia não apresentava lesões linfoproliferativas. Conclusão: O diagnóstico dos linfomas orais pode ser complicado pelo baixo índice de suspeita clínica. Diante desta condição, é indicada a realização de biópsia incisional, sendo a área de escolha criteriosa para que não ocorram erros diagnósticos. Atualmente, a melhor opção de análise diagnóstica é o exame imuno-histoquímico da lesão, que distingue as condições benignas das malignas, oferecendo uma rigorosa subclassificação dos tipos de linfoma.

Introdução: O tumor de células granulares é um tumor benigno com etiologia desconhecido comumente chamado de “mioblastoma de células granulares”. A lesão pode acometer pele e tecido subcutâneo, e ocasionalmente, pode ser identificado no pulmão, trato gastrointestinal, e tecido cardíaco. Na cabeça, a língua é um lugar comum para o seu surgimento. Objetivo: Apresentar as características e o tratamento do tumor de células granulares, por meio de relato de caso. Relato de caso: Paciente de 41 anos, sexo masculino, procurou o serviço de Cirurgia e Traumatologia Buco-Maxilo-Facial da Faculdade de Odontologia de Pernambuco – FOP, da Universidade de Pernambuco – UPE, com queixa principal de um “caroço” na língua. A história colhida mostrava ser assintomática, com aproximadamente 1 (um) ano de evolução, o paciente revelou não ser tabagista ou etilista. Não havia história pregressa de problemas sistêmicos associados, hospitalização ou intervenções cirúrgicas prévias. No exame clínico foi observada uma lesão nodular com 1.0 cm de diâmetro, localizada em dorso lingual, de base séssil, imóvel, firme e indolor à palpação. Superfície apresentando-se lisa e de coloração avermelhada. Não havia outras lesões associadas, nem linfoadenopatia cervical presente. Conclusão: Diante do caso, foi realizado a biópsia excisional sob anestesia local e análise histopatológica foi instituída, revelando diagnóstico de tumor de células granulares com hiperplasia pseudoepiteliomatosa de recobrimento de epitélio escamoso. O paciente encontra-se em acompanhamento periódico, inicialmente mensalmente e, passado um ano, semestralmente, com ausência de recidivas ou qualquer outro comprometimento, com evolução de 2 (dois) anos de pós-operatório.
