Before COVID-19, digital divide research among college students was scarce, reinforcing the idea that technology access was nearly universal, with few demographic differences. Pandemic-era research found some technical challenges, but most studies were conducted nationally or at research-intensive (R1) universities, indicating a paucity in research among underrepresented populations, notably at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI). This mixed-methods study aimed to assess digital inequities and pandemic-related technological challenges at an HSI, with high percentages of low-income and first-generation students. This study also sought to determine if findings were consistent with national and R1 research. We surveyed a representative sample of 2188 undergraduates and conducted semi-structured interviews with 26 students. Results showed many students had inadequate technology. Just 79% had the optimal combination of smartphone plus laptop or desktop, with first-generation, low-income, Black, and older students significantly less likely to have this combination and often having to share devices within their households. Internet quality significantly affected all coursework-related challenges, as almost half of students with unstable internet reported trouble completing assignments compared to 20% with stable internet. Finally, results suggest the digital divide may be more prevalent at HSIs than at previously studied institutions, while also offering insight into how these challenges affect similar universities.

The Cockburn Substage readvance marks the last major late-glacial advance of the northeast sector of the Laurentide Ice Sheet on Baffin Island. The causes of this abrupt, late reversal of retreat are still unclear, but greater chronological control may provide some insight. To date, the literature has focused on the large terminal moraines in the region, providing a date of readvance (circa 9.5-8.5 ka cal BP). In Frobisher Bay, the Cockburn Substage readvance and recession onshore are marked by a series of moraines spread over ~20 km along the inner bay. Acoustic marine mapping reveals five distinct transverse ridges, morphologically suggestive of grounding-zone wedges, and two later fields of DeGeer moraines on the floor of the inner bay. These indicate that the style of ice retreat (beginning no later than 8.5 ka cal BP) changed over time from punctuated recession of a floating ice front (20 km over >680 years, with four pauses) to more regular tidewater icefront retreat, reaching the head of the bay 900 years or more after withdrawal from the outer Cockburn limit. The established chronology for final recession in the region is based largely on radiocarbon dating of bulk shell samples and single shells of deposit-feeding molluscs, notably Portlandia arctica, affected by old carbon from carbonate-rich sediments. Sedimentary analysis and judicious sampling for [.sup.14]C dating of glaciomarine and marine facies in seabed sediment cores enables development of a late- and post-glacial lithostratigraphy that indicates final withdrawal of ice from the drainage basin by 7 ka cal BP. Increased variability in weather and sea ice conditions due to climate change has led to high rates of injury, trauma, and death for Inuit travelling on the sea ice. Contributing to these high rates are the ongoing effects of colonial policies that diminish and disrupt the intergenerational transfer of sea ice Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ). Despite these challenges, place-based experiential IQ continues to be the most important information source for safe travel on the sea ice. This paper presents an Inuit-led, coproduced, cross-cultural research project in which Inuit youth documented and mobilized sea ice IQ in Mittimatalik (Pond Inlet), Nunavut for safe community sea ice travel. We outline the Inuit youth training to facilitate the terminology and participatory mapping workshops and to document this IQ. We also discuss the IQ that was most important to share, and the mapping and artistic methods used to mobilize this IQ into a booklet, maps, and posters. Inuktitut sea ice terms are the foundation to enable youth with the skills to learn about sea ice IQ with experienced hunters. IQ enables Inuit to interpret and synthesize information from weather forecasts, earth observations, and community-based monitoring to apply to local conditions. Seasonal IQ maps of safe and hazardous sea ice conditions provide travel planning information at spatial and temporal scales that supplemental information sources cannot address. The IQ products mobilize preparedness, situational awareness, navigation, and interpretation skills so Inuit youth can become more self-reliant, as access to technology is not always possible once out on the sea ice. A cela s'ajoutent les effets permanents des politiques coloniales qui amenuisent et perturbent le transfert intergenerationnel de l'Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) au sujet de la glace de mer. Malgre ces defis, l'IQ tire de l'experience sur les lieux continue de representer la source d'information la plus importante pour favoriser des deplacements securitaires sur la glace de mer. Cet article presente un projet de recherche interculturel dirige et co-realise par des Inuits dans le cadre duquel de jeunes Inuits ont documente et mobilise l'lQ sur la glace de mer a Mittimatalik (inlet Pond), au Nunavut, en vue de deplacements communautaires securitaires sur la glace de mer. Nous mettons l'accent sur la formation refue par les jeunes Inuits visant a faciliter les ateliers de terminologie et de cartographie participative ainsi qu'a documenter l'IQ en question. Nous discutons egalement de l'IQ le plus important a partager de meme que de la cartographie et des methodes artistiques utilisees pour mobiliser l'IQ dans un cahier, sur des cartes et sur des affiches. Les termes inuktituts propres a la glace de mer servent de fondement pour doter les jeunes des connaissances necessaries pour apprendre l'IQ de la glace de mer avec les chasseurs d'experience. L'IQ permet aux Inuits d'interpreter et de synthetiser l'information en provenance des previsions meteorologiques, des observations de la terre et de la surveillance communautaire afin de l'appliquer aux conditions locales. Les cartes saisonnieres de l'IQ illustrant les conditions securitaires et les conditions dangereuses de la glace de mer fournissent de l'information pour la planification des deplacements a l'echelle spatiale et temporelle que des sources supplementaires ne pourraient fournir. Les produits de l'IQ permettent de mobiliser les competences en preparation, en connaissance de la situation, en navigation et en interpretation pour que les jeunes Inuits puissent devenir plus autonomes, car l'acces a la technologie n'est pas toujours possible lorsqu'ils se trouvent sur la glace de mer. Background: Anti‐obesity medications (AOMs) have historically had limited weight‐loss efficacy. However, newer glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonist (GLP‐1 RA)–based therapies seem to be more effective, including dual agonists of GLP‐1R and the glucagon receptor (GCGR) or glucose‐dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor. Objective: To explore healthcare professionals' (HCPs) experience in obesity treatment and their understanding of agonists of GCGR, glucose‐dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) RA, and GLP‐1 RA. Methods: This cross‐sectional online survey of HCPs prescribing AOMs was conducted in the United States in 2023 with a questionnaire designed to evaluate prescribing behavior and understanding of GCGR, GIP RA, and GLP‐1 RA. Results: The 785 respondents (251 primary‐care physicians [PCPs], 263 endocrinologists, and 271 advanced practice providers [APPs]) reported 55% of their patients had obesity (body mass index ≥30 kg/m2 or ≥27 with weight‐related complications) and recommended AOMs to 49% overall, significantly more endocrinologists (57% of patients, p < 0.0005) than PCPs (43%) or APPs (46%). The greatest barriers to treatment were medication cost/lack of insurance (mean 4.2 on 1–5 scale [no barrier–extreme barrier]), low patient engagement/adherence (3.3), and inadequate time/staff (3.1). Metformin was the type 2 diabetes (T2D) medication most commonly prescribed to treat obesity in T2D patients (92.5% of respondents). Most HCPs (65%) were very/extremely familiar with GLP‐1 RA, but only 30% with GIP RA and 16% with GCGR. Most HCPs expected dual GCGR/GLP‐1 RA to benefit many obesity‐related conditions; however, only a minority of HCPs perceived that they would benefit non‐cardiometabolic complications of obesity. Conclusions: Among HCPs prescribing AOMs, gaps exist in the management of people living with obesity as <50% are prescribed AOMs. Barriers to treatment indicate a need to improve access to AOMs. HCPs were less familiar with GCGR or GIP RA than GLP‐1 RA but expect dual GCGR/GLP‐1 RA may offer additional benefits, potentially addressing treatment barriers and access. Thus, there is a need for greater education among HCPs regarding the mechanism of action and therapeutic effects of GCGR agonists, and dual GCGR/GLP‐1 RA, so that the full range of obesity‐related complications can be effectively treated.
