Objective To observe the enzymatic changes of myocardial sarcoplasmic reticulum in rats after injecting endotoxin (LPS), and provide basic research results for the future study of myocardial sarcoplasmic reticulum dysfunction caused by LPS in rats. Methods Ten SD rats were randomly divided into blank control group and LPS injection group with 5 rats in each group. In the LPS injection group, endotoxin was injected into the tail vessels of the rats. Results The heart rate (HR) of the LPS injection group increased and was faster than that in the blank control group [(204±18) beat per min vs. (139±10) beat per min on the first day, and (199±22) beat per min vs. (143±17) beat per min on the next day, both P values were less than 0.05]. A recognition technology for crude oil and lubricant is described by use of back-scattering fluorescence. It is shown that when the fluorescence intensity reaches the maximum peak, its attenuation ratio has no obvious dependence on laser power, incident angle and thickness of oil film during a fixed wavelength interval. To enhance the feature of oil type, two relatively constant wavelength regions are selected and their fluorescence intensity attenuation ratios are fused in a two-dimensional spectrum. Then two areas which represent the two kinds of oil are identified in the two-dimensional spectrum, and the oil type can be determined according to which area the measured ratio data lie in. The experimental results show that the correct identification probabilities for crude oil and lubricant can reach 96% and 98% respectively. It is expected that this can be a useful method for oil type recognition.

BACKGROUND Heat stroke is a life-threatening disease which is characterized by a high body temperature and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Vascular endothelial cell injury is a main feature of heat stroke. Little is known about the long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) and microRNA (miRNA) expression alternation in endothelial cell exosomes related to heat stroke. The aim of this study was to explore the changes of lncRNAs and miRNAs expression pattern in exosomes derived from vascular endothelial cells under heat stroke temperature conditions. MATERIAL AND METHODS Cultured medium exosomes from HUVECs (human vascular endothelial cells) either under normal temperature or heat stroke temperature conditions were harvested; then RNA was extracted and the lncRNAs and miRNAs were analyzed by high throughput sequencing. RESULTS Ten significantly upregulated and 10 downregulated lncRNAs were identified in exosomes derived from heat stroke temperature treated cells. Furthermore, GO (Gene Ontology) and KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) analyses were used to evaluate the signaling pathway of differential expressions in lncRNAs. Finally, the interaction network of lncRNAs-miRNAs-mRNA was uncovered using ceRNA (competing endogenous RNA) principle via prediction software. CONCLUSIONS These results indicate that the identified lncRNAs and miRNAs in endothelial cell exosomes might serve as non-invasive biomarkers for heat stroke.

A new parameter for evaluating beam quality of semiconductor lasers is analyzed. In evaluating beam quality of semiconductor lasers, the shortcomings of M2 factor are discussed and its limitations are pointed out at the same time. Moreover, some important aspects of the beam quality factor are discussed. The main factors to influence collimating the beam of semiconductor lasers are analyzed. In this paper, our results clarify the conclusion: the new propagation parameter is more suited to describe the beam quality of semiconductor laser to M2 factor.
