As a low-density, high-strength material with high energy release potential, Al/Ep cast metal braided tubes have a wide range of application prospects in the combatant shell, which is one of the most important means to realize the integrated destructive effect of kill and blast. In this paper, Al/Ep composites with mass ratios of 3:7, 4:6 and 5:5 were prepared, and the intrinsic model of Al/Ep was established by studying its quasi-static and dynamic mechanical properties. The Al/Ep cast three-dimensional braided metal skeletons were used to obtain the required cast braided tubes with different mass ratios, and the destruction behaviors of the tubes under axial and radial compressive loads were analyzed by a combination of experimental and numerical simulations. The results show that the addition of Al particles can significantly improve the elastic-plastic properties of Al/Ep composites, and the energy storage and absorption capacities are positively correlated with the ratio of the relative contents of Al powder. When the mass ratio of Al powder to epoxy resin is 5:5, the energy absorption of Al/Ep composites is 23.16 MJ/m3, which is optimal among similar specimens and much higher than that of pure epoxy resin materials (the energy absorption of epoxy resin is 9.63 MJ/m3). The strength of binary resin matrix composites is improved, and the intrinsic models of three kinds of different mass ratios of Al/Ep composites are obtained. The intrinsic models of various Al/Ep cast braided tubes with crushing force efficiency CFE, energy absorption capacity, and specific energy absorption SEA decreased with the ratio of mass occupied by the braided filaments.

Abstract Granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM) is a chronic idiopathic granulomatous mastitis of the mammary gland characterized by significant pain and a high propensity for recurrence, the incidence rate has gradually increased, and has become a serious breast disease that should not be ignored. GLM is highly suspected relative to microbial infections, especially those of Corynebacterium species; however, the mechanisms involved are unclear, and prevention and treatment are difficult. In this study, we demonstrated the pathogenicity of Corynebacterium parakroppenstedtii in GLM using Koch’s postulates. Based on the drug sensitization results of C. parakroppenstedtii, and utilizing a retrospective study in conjunction with a comprehensive literature review, we suggested an efficacious, targeted antibiotic treatment strategy for GLM. Subsequently, we identified the pathogenic factor as a new type of glycolipid (named corynekropbactins) secreted by C. parakroppenstedtii. Corynekropbactins may chelate iron, cause the death of mammary cells and other mammary -gland-colonizing bacteria, and increase the levels of inflammatory cytokines. We further analyzed the prevalence of C. parakroppenstedtii infection in patients with GLM. Finally, we suggested that the lipophilicity of C. parakroppenstedtii may be associated with its infection route and proposed a possible model for the development of GLM. This research holds significant implications for the clinical diagnosis and therapeutic management of GLM, offering new insights into targeted treatment approaches.

The new STF impregnated Kevlar fabric coated GFRP (glass fiber reinforced polymer) composite structure obtained by combining STF（shear thickening fluid） impregnated Kevlar fabric and GFRP can obtain strong energy absorption capacity with light weight compared with two separate structures, so it has strong impact resistance. In this paper, the experiments of STF impregnated Kevlar fabric, GFRP laminated plate and STF impregnated Kevlar fabric coating GFRP laminated structure were carried out, respectively. Based on reliable numerical simulation, the macroscopic damage and energy absorption characteristics of the same material in STF impregnated Kevlar fabric, GFRP laminated plate and STF impregnated Kevlar fabric coating GFRP laminated structure were analyzed. The results show that the GFRP laminate and the rear Kevlar fabric in the STF-impregnated Kevlar fabric coating GFRP laminate structure show a larger damage area than that of GFRP laminate and STF impregnated Kevlar fabric alone, and a larger deflection is generated during the process of impact. The increase of the number of layers of Kevlar fabric in the front and back of the laminate and the increase of the thickness of the laminate make the Kevlar fabric absorb more energy. If the energy absorption capacity of GFRP laminates is increased, the number of layers of the front Kevlar fabric can be reduced, the thickness of the laminates can be increased, and materials with greater strength can be added to the front ply of the laminates. However, increasing the thickness of GFRP laminates will reduce the lightweight requirements of laminated structures.

The air inlet holes on the swirl combustor are crucial for high-performance micro gas turbine (MGT), affecting internal airflow, fuel-air mixing, temperature distribution, and cooling. However, there are seldom studies that pay attention to the influence of the air inlet holes coupled with low volatility macromolecular fuels for fast and better fuel-air mixing and combustion processes in MGT. This study investigates the influence of primary and dilution hole positions on airflow, temperature, emissions, and combustion efficiency. Numerical simulations in ANSYS Fluent examine five inlet hole configurations in a two-stage axial swirl combustor. Simulation validation is conducted under three test conditions. The results showed that the cut-off effect of the primary hole affected the size of the swirl vortex core, and the backward movement of the primary hole resulted in a significant increase in the length of the recirculation zone and the coherence high-temperature zone, accelerated the droplet evaporation rate, and reduced CO and NO emissions. Backward movement of dilution hole alters flow field, affecting swirl vortex stability and reflow intensity. Case 3, with original dilution hole and backward extended primary hole, exhibits optimal outlet temperature distribution and combustion efficiency.

BackgroundPapillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common thyroid malignancy, and its distant metastasis (PTCDM), although uncommon, seriously affects the survival rate and quality of life of patients. With the rapid development of science and technology, research in the field of PTCDM has accumulated rapidly, presenting a complex knowledge structure and development trend.MethodsIn this study, bibliometric analysis was used to collect 479 PTCDM-related papers published between 2004 and 2023 through the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Keyword clustering analysis was performed using VOSviewer and citespace, as well as dual-map overlay analysis, to explore knowledge flows and interconnections between different disciplines.ResultsThe analysis indicated that China, the United States, and South Korea were the most active countries in conducting research activities. Italy’s research was notable due to its higher average citation count. Keyword analysis revealed that “cancer,” “papillary thyroid carcinoma,” and “metastasis” were the most frequently used terms in these studies. The journal co-citation analysis underscored the dominant roles of molecular biology, immunology, and clinical medicine, as well as the growing importance of computer science in research.ConclusionThis study identified the main trends and scientific structure of PTCDM research, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and the crucial role of top academic journals in promoting high-quality research. The findings not only provide valuable information for basic and clinical research on thyroid cancer but also offer guidance for future research directions.

Deep learning has been extensively employed for predicting the remaining useful life (RUL) of equipment owing to the powerful feature extraction ability of deep learning. However, the deep learning prediction results are often affected by random noise, modeling parameters, and other factors, considerably reducing the credibility of point predictions. This reduction may lead to inappropriate decisions and sometimes even cause equipment operation collapse. Therefore, the key to ensuring the smooth progress of the entire industrial production process is accurately quantifying the uncertainties transmitted in the output of the RUL prediction model and forming an effective and reasonable maintenance decision plan. The prediction interval is a statistical measure used to quantify uncertainty in predictions. The prediction interval comprises the upper and lower prediction bounds between which an unknown value is expected with a specific probability. The option of prediction intervals enables decision-makers and operational planners to effectively quantify the uncertainty level associated with point predictions and consider multiple solutions for optimal and worst-case conditions. A wide prediction interval indicates a high degree of uncertainty in the underlying system operation. This information signals decision-makers to avoid choosing risky actions under uncertain conditions. By contrast, a narrow prediction interval implies that decisions can be made with more confidence and unexpected situations will be less in the future. The aim of this paper is to analyze and elaborate the basic ideas and development trends of current deep learning-based RUL interval prediction models to provide a good reference for exploring implementable deep learning-based RUL interval prediction model that is highly reliable, cost-efficient, and easy. Thus, while facing the practical demand of uncertainty quantification in the modeling of equipment RUL based on deep learning, this paper first analyzes the sources of uncertainty in RUL prediction, such as data quality, model error, and changes in model parameters and the external environment. Subsequently, five popular deep learning-based RUL interval prediction models are presented: bootstrap deep learning, local uncertainty, stochastic process deep learning, Bayesian deep learning, and deep learning quantile regression. Through the model establishment process and current development status analysis, the advantages and disadvantages of the five RUL interval prediction models are summarized. Finally, the challenges encountered during the current research on the RUL interval prediction of equipment based on deep learning and potential future research directions are explored.

In order to study the dynamic and electrical coupling response characteristics of Metal Oxide Semiconductor Controlled Thyristor (MCT) high-voltage switch under the synergic action of mechanical load and high voltage, the separated Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) test system was used to simulate different impact load environments, and combined with the multi-layer high-voltage ceramic capacitor charging and discharging system, the instantaneous electrical signals of MCT high-voltage switch were collected. Combined with numerical simulation and theoretical analysis, the failure mode and stress wave propagation characteristics of MCT high voltage switch were determined. The mechanical and electrical coupling response characteristics and failure mechanism of MCT high voltage switch under dynamic load were revealed from macroscopic and microscopic levels. The results show that the damage modes of MCT high-voltage switches can be divided into non-functional damage, recoverable functional damage, non-recoverable damage and structural damage. Due to the gap between the metal gate and the oxide layer, the insulating oxide layer was charged. After placing for a period of time, the elastic deformation of the metal gate partially recovered and the accumulated charge disappeared, which induced the recoverable functional damage failure of the device. In addition, obvious cracks appeared on both sides of the monocrystalline silicon inside the MCT high-voltage switch, leading to unrecoverable damage of the device.

In this paper, we address a class of distributed robust cooperative fault-tolerant control problems for discrete-time multi-agent systems (MASs). The discrete-time MASs considered in this paper have both uncertainties and actuator faults, and a distributed intermediate variable estimator that does not require a fault estimation matching condition is designed for obtaining the estimation information of the actuator faults. In addition, to further obtain higher design freedom and better estimation performance, the intermediate variable estimator considers both centralised and distributed output estimation errors as feedback terms. A fault-tolerant control protocol is designed using the fault estimation information to ensure the reliable operation of discrete-time MASs. It is worth noting that in the method proposed in this paper, there is no need to know the boundary information about the faults and their changing rates, and the method is applicable to discrete-time MASs with directed communication topology. In order to ensure the solvability of the Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) for better obtaining of the gain matrices of the designed fault estimators, further decoupling and dimensionality reduction of the LMI are carried out in this paper. Finally, a numerical simulation and a network of four one-link flexible joint manipulator systems simulation verify the truthfulness and effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper.

Abstract Background Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive breast cancer subtype lacking effective targeted therapies, necessitating innovative treatment approaches. While targeting ROS proto-oncogene 1 (ROS1) with crizotinib has shown promise, resistance remains a limitation. Recent evidence links focal adhesion kinase (FAK) to drug resistance, prompting our study to assess the combined impact of FAK inhibitor IN10018 and crizotinib in TNBC and elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Methods We employed the Timer database to analyze FAK and ROS1 mRNA levels in TNBC and adjacent normal tissues. Furthermore, we investigated the correlation between FAK, ROS1, and TNBC clinical prognosis using the GSE database. We conducted various in vitro assays, including cell viability, colony formation, flow cytometry, EdU assays, and western blotting. Additionally, TNBC xenograft and human TNBC organoid models were established to assess the combined therapy’s efficacy. To comprehensively understand the synergistic anti-tumor mechanisms, we utilized multiple techniques, such as RNA sequencing, immunofluorescence, cell flow cytometry, C11-BODIPY staining, MDA assay, and GSH assay. Results The Timer database revealed higher levels of FAK and ROS1 in TNBC tissues compared to normal tissues. Analysis of GEO databases indicated that patients with high FAK and ROS1 expression had the poorest prognosis. Western blotting confirmed increased p-FAK expression in crizotinib-resistant TNBC cells. In vitro experiments showed that the combination therapy down-regulated cyclin B1, p-Cdc2, and Bcl2 while up-regulating BAX, cleaved-Caspase-3, cleaved-Caspase-9, and cleaved PARP. Abstract Background Pancreatic cancer (PC) is an extremely malignant tumor with low survival rate. Effective biomarkers and therapeutic targets for PC are lacking. The roles of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in cancers have been explored in various studies, however more work is needed to understand the functional roles of specific circRNAs. In this study, we explore the specific role and mechanism of circ_0035435 (termed circCGNL1) in PC. Methods qRT-PCR analysis was performed to detect circCGNL1 expression, indicating circCGNL1 had low expression in PC cells and tissues. The function of circCGNL1 in PC progression was examined both in vitro and in vivo. circCGNL1-interacting proteins were identified by performing RNA pulldown, co-immunoprecipitation, GST-pulldown, and dual-luciferase reporter assays. Results Overexpressing circCGNL1 inhibited PC proliferation via promoting apoptosis. CircCGNL1 interacted with phosphatase nudix hydrolase 4 (NUDT4) to promote histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) dephosphorylation and subsequent HDAC4 nuclear translocation. Intranuclear HDAC4 mediated RUNX Family Transcription Factor 2 (RUNX2) deacetylation and thereby accelerating RUNX2 degradation. The transcription factor, RUNX2, inhibited guanidinoacetate N-methyltransferase (GAMT) expression. GAMT was further verified to induce PC cell apoptosis via AMPK–AKT–Bad signaling pathway. Conclusions We discovered that circCGNL1 can interact with NUDT4 to enhance NUDT4-dependent HDAC4 dephosphorylation, subsequently activating HDAC4–RUNX2–GAMT-mediated apoptosis to suppress PC cell growth. These findings suggest new therapeutic targets for PC.

Abstract Background Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in women, and drug resistance during treatment is a major challenge. However, the mechanisms underlying drug resistance are not fully understood. Here we applied whole-exome sequencing (WES) to clarify resistant rules to Herceptin and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). Methods There are 12 HER2+ breast cancer patients who were done WES. Samples from tumor and surrounding tissues underwent DNA sequencing and analysis. Various experimental and bioinformatics techniques were employed, including genomic capture, mutation analysis (Genome Analysis Toolkit (GATK), etc.), bioinformatics assessments, and drug-gene interaction investigations. Ultimately, the study explored the association of APOB gene expression with breast cancer recurrence rates, immune cell infiltration, and drug response. Results The C > T mutation frequency was highest in the Herceptin-insensitive (HI) and verification groups, codenamed YI, contrasting with the Herceptin-sensitive (HE) group. No microsatellite instability (MSI)-H patients were in the HE group, but both HI and YI groups had 1 each. Significant differences in transition-transversion (TiTv) were observed in the HI and YI groups rather than the HE group. In the TKI- insensitive (TI) group, C > T mutations were highest, differing from the TKI-sensitive (TE) group. TE group included 2 MSI-H patients. Significant differences in TiTv were found in the TI group rather than the TE group. Mutated APOB may resist Herceptin and TKI, increasing immune infiltration. We identified potential drugs targeting it. Conclusions Our study suggested that a higher percentage of C > T mutations, significant differences in TiTv, and MSI-H status may indicate Herceptin resistance, while a higher percentage of C > T mutations, significant differences in TiTv, and the absence of MSI-H may indicate TKI resistance in breast cancer patients. For patients resistant to both Herceptin and TKI, mutated APOB may play a crucial role in resistance.

Abstract High‐coverage mass spectrometry analysis of single‐cell metabolomics remains challenging due to the extremely low abundance and wide polarity of metabolites and ultra‐small volume in single cells. Herein, a novel concentric hybrid ionization source, nanoelectrospray ionization‐atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (nanoESI‐APCI), is ingeniously designed to detect polar and nonpolar metabolites simultaneously in single cells. The source is constructed by inserting a pulled glass capillary coaxially into a glass tube that acts as a dielectric barrier layer. Benefitting from the integrated advantages of nanoESI and APCI, its limit of detection is improved by one order of magnitude to 10 pg mL−1. After the operational parameter optimization, 254 metabolites detected in nanoESI‐APCI are tentatively identified from a single cell, and 82 more than those in nanoESI. The developed nanoESI‐APCI is successively applied to study the metabolic heterogeneity of human hepatocellular carcinoma tissue microenvironment united with laser capture microdissection (LCM), the discrimination of cancer cell types and subtypes, the metabolic perturbations to glucose starvation in MCF7 cells and the metabolic regulation of cancer stem cells. These results demonstrated that the nanoESI‐APCI not only opens a new avenue for high‐coverage and high‐sensitivity metabolomics analysis of single cell, but also facilitates spatially resolved metabolomics study coupled with LCM.

Abstract Background Sine oculis homeobox homolog 1 (SIX1) is a transcription factor that has recently been identified as a crucial regulator of embryonic development and tumorigenesis. SIX1 is upregulated in different types of tumors, including breast cancer. However, the role and mechanism of SIX1 upregulation in breast cancer carcinogenesis remains uncertain. Methods In this study, we utilized various databases such as UALCAN, TCGA, STRING, and Kaplan–Meier Plotter to investigate the mRNA expression, prognosis, transcriptional profile changes, signal pathway rewiring, and interaction with cancer stem cells of SIX1 in breast cancer. We also conducted both in vitro and in vivo experiments to validate its positive regulation effect on breast cancer stem cells. Results Our findings demonstrated that the expression of SIX1 varies among different subtypes of breast cancer and that it upregulates breast cancer grading and lymph node metastasis. Besides, SIX1 participates in the rewiring of several cancer signaling pathways, including estrogen, WNT, MAPK, and other pathways, and interacts with cancer stem cells. SIX1 showed a significant positive correlation with breast cancer stem cell markers such as ALDH1A1, EPCAM, ITGB1, and SOX2. Moreover, our in vitro and in vivo experiments confirmed that SIX1 can promote the increase in the proportion of stem cells and tumor progression. Conclusions Altogether, our results suggest that SIX1 plays an essential regulatory role in breast cancer's occurrence, and its amplification can be utilized as a diagnostic and prognostic predictor. The interaction between SIX1 and cancer stem cells may play a critical role in regulating breast cancer's initiation and metastasis.

High entropy alloy has attracted much attention in the field of national defense due to their excellent low-temperature dynamic mechanical properties. Taking TiZrHfCu0.5 high entropy alloy as the research object, the compressive properties of the specimens under quasi-static and dynamic (strain rate range 600s−1-2600s−1 and temperature range −60 °C–20 °C) conditions are systematically tested. Based on the static/dynamic stress-strain experimental results, the parameters of the original Johnson-Cook constitutive model are determined by fitting. On this basis, a modified Johnson-Cook constitutive model considering the coupling effects of strain, strain rate and temperature is proposed and its parameters are determined. The dynamic compression process of the specimens under different strain rates and temperatures is numerically simulated by ABAQUS finite element software, and the accuracy of the modified Johnson-Cook constitutive model to predict the dynamic compression behavior of TiZrHfCu0.5 high entropy alloy is verified. The experimental and numerical simulation results show that the TiZrHfCu0.5 high entropy alloy exhibits significant strain rate hardening effect and excellent low-temperature mechanical properties during dynamic compression. The ultimate stress can reach 1.79 GPa at −20 °C and strain rate of 2600 s−1. The predicted curves of the modified Johnson-cook constitutive model are in good agreement with the experimental results at low temperature and high strain rate. The modified Johnson-Cook constitutive model is embedded in the finite element software, which effectively improves the reliability of the numerical simulation of the compression performance of TiZrHfCu0.5 high entropy alloy at high strain rate and low temperature. The relative error between the predicted results of the modified Johnson-Cook constitutive model and the experimental results is greatly reduced.

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems assisted by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are susceptible to eavesdropping, making secure information transmission a critical area of research. We propose a joint optimization algorithm to improve the security of UAV-assisted ISAC systems through coordinated adjustments of transmit beamforming and UAV position. The optimization problem aims to minimize the maximum eavesdropping signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) across multiple legitimate users while adhering to three distinct constraints: service quality for legitimate users, sensing requirements for detecting eavesdroppers, and limitations on system transmit power. To address the non-convex optimization challenge effectively, the problem is decomposed into sub-problems focusing on the optimization of transmit beamforming and UAV position. These sub-problems are solved using semidefinite relaxation (SDR), the Dinkelbach method, and successive convex approximation (SCA), with iterative alternation achieving optimal values for the transmit beamforming and UAV position while also proving the convergence of the algorithm. Lastly, simulation results illustrate that the proposed algorithm markedly improves the system’s security performance while preserving its communication and sensing capabilities.

Bashan Mountain is the division line between middle subtropical climate and northern subtropical climate in China.The further analysis and understanding of the vertical variation of near surface temperature under such complex terrain can provide foundation and basic data for climate change， ecological monitoring and ecological environment protection in this region.Based on the measured data of daily near surface temperature on the northern slope of Micang Mountain during 2013 -2019 from four automatic stations and 3 surrounding meteorological stations， which covers an elevation difference more than 1400 m， combined the sounding data at Hanzhong sounding station from 2017 to 2019， the lapse rates （γ） of near surface temperature and ambient atmospheric temperature were compared， and the vertical variation of near surface temperature on the north slope of Micang Mountain was analyzed， also its vertical climate zone is discussed.The results show that： （1） The near surface temperature decreases with the increasing altitude， its monthly average temperature reaches the highest and lowest in mid-July and January respectively.The average annual γ is 0.624±0.136 ℃·（100m）-1 during the observation period， close to that of free atmosphere.The average monthly γ is the smallest in December， increases gradually to August and then decreases， representing a distinct seasonal trend that steeper lapse rates occurred during warmer months， while shallower lapse rates occurred during colder months.The seasonal γ are 0.647±0.099， 0.732±0.103， 0.605± 0.113 and 0.508 ±0.120 ℃·（100m）-1 in the spring， summer， autumn and winter， respectively.The variation of maximum/minimum temperature is similar with that of average temperature， with an annual γ 0.646±0.185 and 0.606±0.166 ℃·（100m）-1 respectively.The average annual daily range has no obvious difference in each height， fluctuating between 7 ℃ and 10℃， and has no obvious linear relationship with the height.The annual range decreases linearly with the increasing height.（2） The decreasing trend of γ has changed since 2008， which has largely contributed to the narrowing of the radiation difference at areas between higher and lower， and the opposite vertical change trend of aerosols.（3） With the increase of height， the accumulated temperature of daily average temperature passed 0， 5 and 10 ℃ decreases linearly， and their γ is almost about 213 ℃·（100m）-1， their initial day delays and the final day advances， and the duration shortens， and decreases by 3.4， 6.1 and 7.0 d·（100m）-1， respectively.（4） The hierarchy of ambient air temperature changes with height is different clearly among 0.5~1.0 km， 1.0~2.5 km， 2.5~4.5 km and 4.5 km above， in where their temporal variation of air temperature γ is also significantly different， reflecting the comprehensively topographical impact of Qinghai-Xizang Plateau， Qinling Mountain， local Micang Mountain and surface on air temperature.The γ of monthly air temperature near the surface is slightly greater than that of ambient air temperature， which is similar with that of 0.5~1.0 km after May.（5） The vertical climate zone can be divided into northern subtropical zone， warm temperate zone and middle temperate zone， which are between 500~1000 meters， 1000~1500 meters and 1500~2500 meters respectively.

Abstract In this paper, an intermediate observer is proposed for simultaneously estimating the system state, actuator fault and sensor fault. The necessary and sufficient condition is given with respect to the existence of the designed observer. The observer gain matrix is guaranteed through solving Riccati inequalities. The estimation errors of the system state, actuator fault and sensor fault are proved to be globally uniformly stable with the prescribed performance index. Finally, a simulation study is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract Background Although diagnosis and treatment services for tuberculosis (TB) are provided free of charge in most countries, direct non-medical and indirect costs due to absenteeism, also place a significant burden on patients and their families. Sichuan Province has the second highest incidence of TB in China, with an incidence of approximately 100 cases per 100 000 people. However, there are limited research on out-of-pocket expenditure (OOPE) and its influencing factors in TB patients in Sichuan Province. Methods A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted on TB patients in designated medical institutions for TB in Sichuan Province from 2017-2021. A face-to-face questionnaire was conducted to obtain the information related to hospitalization of patients, and the multi-level regression model was used to analyse the factors that influence OOPE and total out-of-pocket expenditure (TOOPE) of TB patients. Results A total of 2644 patients were investigated, and 74.24% of TB patients and their families experienced catastrophic total costs due to TB. The median total cost was 9223.37 CNY (1429.98 USD), in which the median direct and indirect costs of TB patients were 10185.00 CNY (1579.07 USD) and 2400.00 CNY (372.09 USD), respectively, and indirect costs contributed to 43% of total costs. The median OOPE and TOOPE costs were 6024.00 CNY (933.95 USD) and 11890.50 CNY (1843.49 USD), respectively. OOPE and TOOPE had common influencing factors including whether the patient's family had four or more members, a history of hospitalization, combination with other types of TB, the number of visits before diagnosis, and co-occurrence with chronic disease. Conclusions The OOPE and TOOPE for TB patients and their families in Sichuan Province are still heavy. In the long run, it is necessary to strengthen education and awareness campaigns on TB related knowledge, disseminate basic medical knowledge to the public, improve healthcare-seeking behavior, and enhance the healthcare infrastructure to improve the accuracy of TB diagnosis and reduce the significant OOPE and TOOPE faced by TB patients and their families in Sichuan Province.

BackgroundThyroid autoimmunity is one of the most prevalent autoimmune diseases. However, its association with extra-thyroid diseases and mortality risk in the general population remains uncertain. Our study aims to evaluate the association of thyroid autoimmunity with extra-thyroid disease and the risk of mortality.MethodsA prospective cohort study was conducted using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) with participants from 2007–2008, 2009–2010, and 2011–2012, tracking their mortality until 2019. Associations between thyroid autoimmunity, which was defined as having positive thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) and/or thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb), and extra-thyroid disease including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, chronic lung disease, arthritis, cancer and chronic renal disease and the risk of mortality were investigated.ResultsA total of 7431 participants were included in this study. Positive The prevalence of positive TgAb was 7.54%, and positive TPOAb prevalence was 11.48%. TgAb was significantly associated with diabetes (Model 1: OR=1.64, 95% CI:1.08-2.50; Model 2: OR=1.93, 95% CI: 1.21-3.08) and hypertension (Model 1: OR=0.67, 95% CI: 0.49-0.91; Model 2: OR=0.62, 95% CI: 0.44-0.88). TPOAb was associated with a lower prevalence of chronic lung disease (model 1: OR=0.71, 95% CI: 0.54-0.95; model 2: OR=0.71, 95% CI: 0.53-0.95). No associations were observed between TgAb, TPOAb and other extra-thyroid diseases. Neither TgAb nor TPOAb were associated with all-cause mortality or heart disease mortality.ConclusionTgAb was linked to a higher prevalence of diabetes and a lower prevalence of hypertension, while TPOAb was associated with a decreased prevalence of chronic lung disease. However, neither TgAb nor TPOAb posed a risk for all-cause mortality or heart disease mortality.

Abstract The objective of this multicenter, single‐arm trial (ChiCTR1900022293) was to explore the efficacy and safety of neoadjuvant therapy with epirubicin, cyclophosphamide, and pyrotinib followed by docetaxel, trastuzumab, and pyrotinib (ECPy‐THPy) in the treatment of patients with stage II–III HER2‐positive breast cancer. The present study enrolled patients with stage II–III HER2‐positive breast cancer. Epirubicin and cyclophosphamide were administrated for four 21‐day cycles, followed by four cycles of docetaxel and trastuzumab. Pyrotinib was taken orally once per day throughout the treatment period. The primary endpoint was total pathological complete response (tpCR, ypT0/is ypN0) rate in the modified intention‐to‐treat (mITT) population. In total, 175 patients were included. The tpCR rate was 68.6% (95% CI, 60.7–75.8%), while the objective response rate was 89.1%. In the post‐hoc subgroup analysis, no association between clinical characteristics and the tpCR rate was observed. The most common grade ≥3 adverse events were diarrhea (54.3%), followed by white blood cell count decreased (5.1%), and neutrophil count decreased (4.6%). In conclusion, the neoadjuvant regimen with ECPy‐THPy showed promising pathological response and clinical benefits with an acceptable safety profile in patients with stage II–III HER2‐positive breast cancer.

ABSTRACTThe fitness of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is thought to be an important determinant of a strain’s ability to be transmitted. Studies in the laboratory have demonstrated that MDR-TB strains have reduced fitness but the relative transmissibility of MDR-TB versus drug-susceptible (DS) TB strains in human populations remains unresolved. We used data on genomic clustering from our previous molecular epidemiological study in Songjiang (2011-2020) and Wusheng (2009-2020), China, to compare the relative transmissibility of MDR-TB versus DS-TB. Genomic clusters were defined with a threshold distance of 12-single-nucleotide-polymorphisms and the risk for MDR-TB clustering was analyzed by logistic regression. In total, 2212 culture-positive pulmonary TB patients were enrolled in Songjiang and 1289 in Wusheng. The clustering rates of MDR-TB and DS-TB strains were 19.4% (20/103) and 26.3% (509/1936), respectively in Songjiang, and 43.9% (29/66) and 26.0% (293/1128) in Wusheng. The risk of MDR-TB clustering was 2.34 (95% CI 1.38-3.94) times higher than DS-TB clustering in Wusheng and 0.64 (95% CI 0.38-1.06) times lower in Songjiang. Neither lineage 2, compensatory mutations nor rpoB S450L were significantly associated with MDR-TB transmission, and katG S315 T increased MDR-TB transmission only in Wusheng (OR 5.28, 95% CI 1.42-19.21). MDR-TB was not more transmissible than DS-TB in either Songjiang or Wusheng. It appears that the different transmissibility of MDR-TB in Songjiang and Wusheng is likely due to differences in the quality of the local TB control programmes. Suggesting that the most effective way to control MDR-TB is by improving local TB control programmes.

Exhaled ammonia (NH3) is an essential noninvasive biomarker for disease diagnosis. In this study, an acetone-modifier positive photoionization ion mobility spectrometry (AM-PIMS) method was developed for accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of exhaled NH3 with high selectivity and sensitivity. Acetone was introduced into the drift tube along with the drift gas as a modifier, and the characteristic NH3 product ion peak of (C3H6O)4NH4+ (K0 = 1.45 cm2/V·s) was obtained through the ion-molecule reaction with acetone reactant ions (C3H6O)2H+ (K0 = 1.87 cm2/V·s), which significantly increased the peak-to-peak resolution and improved the accuracy of exhaled NH3 qualitative identification. Moreover, the interference of high humidity and the memory effect of NH3 molecules were significantly reduced via online dilution and purging sampling, thus realizing breath-by-breath measurement. As a result, a wide quantitative range of 5.87–140.92 μmol/L with a response time of 40 ms was achieved, and the exhaled NH3 profile could be synchronized with the concentration curve of exhaled CO2. Finally, the analytical capacity of AM-PIMS was demonstrated by measuring the exhaled NH3 of healthy subjects, demonstrating its great potential for clinical disease diagnosis.

This article investigates the robust cooperative fault-tolerant control problem of multi-agent systems subject to mismatched uncertainties and actuator faults. During the design process of the intermediate variable estimator, there is no need to satisfy fault estimation matching conditions, and this overcomes a crucial constraint of traditional observers and estimators. The feedback term of the designed estimator contains the centralized estimation errors and the distributed estimation errors of the agent, and this further improves the design freedom of the proposed estimator. A novel fault-tolerant control protocol is designed based on the fault estimation information. In this work, the bounds of the fault and its derivatives are unknown, and the considered method is applicable to both directed and undirected multi-agent systems. Furthermore, the parameters of the estimator are determined through the resolution of a linear matrix inequality (LMI), which is decoupled by employing coordinate transformation and Schur decomposition. Lastly, a numerical simulation result is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Purpose Granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM) is a benign inflammatory disease of the mammary gland with unknown etiology. Erythema nodosum (EN) is a rare, extramammary symptom of GLM. The purpose of this article was to investigate the clinical features of EN associated with GLM. Methods We recruited 102 GLM patients diagnosed between December 2018 and December 2021 at Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University. The clinical characteristics and laboratory indices of the EN group (n = 12) and the non-EN group (n = 90) were compared. Results The proportion of GLM patients with lesions involving ≥2 quadrants and high peripheral white blood cell count, absolute neutrophil count and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) was larger in the EN group than in the non-EN group (p = 0.002, 0.025, 0.014, 0.002, respectively). The duration of EN was longer in GLM patients with EN than in GLM patients without EN (p = 0.005). GLM patients with EN had more abscesses and sinus tracts than those without EN (p = 0.003, 0.038). Lesions involving ≥2 quadrants and the NLR were positively associated with the occurrence of EN (R = 0.304, 0.0302, p = 0.002, 0.002). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis revealed that the area under the curve of the NLR was 0.770. When NLR > 5.73, the sensitivity and specificity of predicting EN were 66.67% and 87.78%, respectively. Conclusion Our findings suggest that GLM concomitant with EN suggests the presence of a more severe condition and extensive lesions.

Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor. There are few studies on EXOSC10 (exosome component 10) in HCC; however, the importance of EXOSC10 for HCC remains unclear. Methods In the study, the prognosis value of EXOSC10 and the immune correlation were explored by bioinformatics. The expression of EXOSC10 was verified by tissue samples from clinical patients and in vitro experiment (liver cancer cell lines HepG2, MHCC97H and Huh-7; normal human liver cell line LO2). Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was used to detect EXOSC10 protein expression in clinical tissue from HCC. Huh-7 cells with siEXOSC10 were constructed using lipofectamine 3000. Cell counting kit 8 (CCK-8) and colony formation were used to test cell proliferation. The wound healing and transwell were used to analyze the cell migration capacity. Mitochondrial membrane potential, Hoechst 33342 dye, and flow cytometer were used to detect the change in cell apoptosis, respectively. Differential expression genes (DEGs) analysis and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) were used to investigate the potential mechanism of EXOSC10 and were verified by western blotting. Results EXOSC10 was highly expressed in tissues from patients with HCC and was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival (OS) in HCC. Increased expression of EXOSC10 was significantly related to histological grade, T stage, and pathological stage. Multivariate analysis indicated that the high expression level of EXOSC10 was correlated with poor overall survival (OS) in HCC. GO and GSEA analysis showed enrichment of the cell cycle and p53-related signaling pathway. Immune analysis showed that EXOSC10 expression was a significant positive correlation with immune infiltration in HCC. In vitro experiments, cell proliferation and migration were inhibited by the elimination of EXOSC10. Furthermore, the elimination of EXOSC10 induced cell apoptosis, suppressed PARP, N-cadherin and Bcl-2 protein expression levels, while increasing Bax, p21, p53, p-p53, and E-cadherin protein expression levels. Conclusions EXOSC10 had a predictive value for the prognosis of HCC and may regulate the progression of HCC through the p53-related signaling pathway.

The obese males have a tighter association with thyroid cancer, and females have a higher thyroid cancer risk among diabetes. Thyroid-stimulating hormones may be a switch for thyroid carcinogenesis. Insulin resistance plays a critical role in the development of thyroid cancer. Abnormal levels of adipocytokines and blood pressure related regulatory hormone assist in accelerating thyroid cancer progression.

Abstract Breast cancer heterogeneity determines cancer progression, treatment effects, and prognosis. However, the precise mechanism for this heterogeneity remains unknown owing to its complexity. Here, we summarize the origins of breast cancer heterogeneity and its influence on disease progression, recurrence, and therapeutic resistance. We review the possible mechanisms of heterogeneity and the research methods used to analyze it. We also highlight the importance of cell interactions for the origins of breast cancer heterogeneity, which can be further categorized into cooperative and competitive interactions. Finally, we provide new insights into precise individual treatments based on heterogeneity.

Tuberculosis (TB) is more prevalent in rural than urban areas in China, and delineating TB transmission patterns in rural populations could improve TB control. We conducted a prospective population-based study of culture-positive pulmonary TB patients diagnosed between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2020 in two rural counties in China. Genomic clusters were defined with a threshold distance of 12-single-nucleotide-polymorphisms, based on whole-genome sequencing. Risk factors for clustering were identified by logistic regression. Transmission links were sought through epidemiological investigation of genomic-clustered patients. Of 1517 and 751 culture-positive pulmonary TB patients in Wusheng and Wuchang counties, respectively, 1289 and 699 strains were sequenced. Overall, 624 (31.4%, 624/1988) patients were grouped into 225 genomic clusters. Epidemiological links were confirmed in 41.8% (196/469) of clustered isolates, including family (32.7%, 64/196) and social contacts (67.3%, 132/196). Social contacts were generally with relatives, within the community or in shared aggregated settings outside the community, but the proportion of clustered contacts in each category differed between the two sites. The time interval between diagnosis of student cases and contacts was significantly shorter than family and social contacts, probably due to enhanced student contact screening. Transmission of multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains was likely responsible for 81.4% (83/102) of MDR-TB cases, with minimal acquisition of additional resistance mutations. A large proportion of TB transmission in rural China occurred among social contacts, suggesting that active screening and aggressive contact tracing could benefit TB control, but contact screening should be tailored to local patterns of social interactions.

When comparing the consistency of the cloud vertical structure detected by L-band radiosonde and millimeter-wave cloud radar， the observation error caused by the drift deviation of radiosonde balloon shouldn’t be ignored.Therefore， the principle of time matching and space matching of screening the samples is put forward which can effectively reduce it.By analyzing a total of 406 pairs of cloud base and top height samples observed by radiosonde and cloud radar at Xi’an Jinghe Meteorological Station over a period of 508 days from August 17， 2017 to December 31， 2018.The results showed that when using the principle of time and space matching to screen cloud height samples， the correlation coefficients of them were significantly improved and the errors caused by the balloon drifting were effectively reduced.The correlation coefficients of the cloud base/top height samples increased from 0.70/0.66 to 0.98/0.97 by using the time matching and space matching principle， and the mean square root errors decreased from 2009 m/2148 m to 602 m/708 m， and the mean absolute percentage errors reduced from 47%/47% to 14%/9%.Using only the time matching principle can greatly improve the correlation coefficients of cloud base height samples， which average value increased from 0.35 to 0.86.When filtering the cloud top heights， the principle of time and space matching must be used at the same time to effectively improve the consistency of the two observations.Whether or not the time and space matching principle are used to select the samples， the cloud base and top heights observed by radiosonde are higher than those observed by cloud radar.In addition， the correlation coefficients of the cloud base and top height samples do not decrease with the increase of their relative distances.

Background: Granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM) is a rare, benign, chronic inflammatory illness of the mammary gland with an unknown cause. Many scholars believe that the pathogenesis of GLM is mediated by autoimmunity. This article reviews the progress of the role of CD4+ T lymphocyte subsets in the development of GLM to explore potential therapeutic targets. Methods: Original articles from inception to October 2021 were systematically searched by two members on PubMed and China National Knowledge Infrastructure. Results: Current studies have confirmed the presence of disorders of several immune molecules in the serum and tissue microenvironment of GLM patients, including interleukin (IL) -2, IL-4, IL-6, and IL-10. This may be related to the dysregulation of Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg balance. Conclusions: Altered expression and the malfunctioning of Th, Treg, and associated cytokines may contribute to GLM pathogenesis. Immune molecules and immune-related pathways may be potential targets and breakthroughs for future GLM treatment.

Existing empirical research has demonstrated the positive effects of flipping the classroom to improve student motivation and achievement by flipping in-class learning content to pre-class. However, the flipped classroom approach requires that students be engaged and motivated in the pre-class stage to ensure that the in-class learning activities run smoothly. Previous studies have highlighted the difficulties that students often encounter when trying to learn Chinese characters in Chinese language classes, especially those who are in the early stages of learning the language. Therefore, in this study, a gamified interactive e-book was developed and used in a flipped classroom for Chinese character learning. To evaluate the effectiveness of this approach, a pre-test and post-test control group experimental design was used. The participants were 90 s-grade students from a public primary school in Zhengzhou, China, who were randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group: the students who used a gamified interactive e-book in a Chinese character learning flipped classroom (GIEFC group), the students who used a traditional flipped classroom (TFC group), and the students who used a traditional teaching classroom (TTC group). The experimental results indicated that students in the GIEFC group scored higher than those in the TFC and TTC groups in terms of learning achievements and motivation. In addition, the experimental results also demonstrated the positive effects of gamified interactive e-books in flipped classroom learning. Future research could explore a variety of different types of game elements as well as the extension of research to other subjects.

Studying China's Tang poetry is a crucially integrated part of the language curriculum in primary schools because it is an important part of its cultural heritage and classical literature. However, due to the fact that Tang poetry is written in classical Chinese, which is quite different from modern Chinese Mandarin, and the complex categories of this poetry style, learning Tang poetry can be a challenging experience for many students. To address this problem, this study developed an interactive multimodal application based on the cognitive-affective theory of learning with media to learn Tang poetry in an interactive way. In order to assess the effectiveness of this method, a pretest-posttest control group experiment was conducted. The experiment included eighty third-grade students randomly and equally divided into experimental and control groups from an elementary school in Xinzheng, Henan Province, to test (1) whether the interactive multimodal application improves students' reading comprehension of Tang poetry and (2) whether the application enhances students' intrinsic and/or extrinsic motivation in learning Tang poetry. A multimodal interactive application was used by the experimental group to learn Tang poetry, while the control group used a traditional classroom method. According to the study's findings, it was found that students' intrinsic motivation and comprehension of Tang poetry improved through the use of the interactive multimodal application mode.

Abstract Objective It has been reported that papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) patients with lymph node metastasis (LNM) are largely associated with adverse outcomes. The present study aimed to assess the correlation between the number of metastatic lymph nodes (NMLNs) and clinical prognosis in patients with PTC. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with PTC who underwent initial thyroid cancer surgery in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University between 2017 and 2019. A total of 694 patients with PTC and cervical lymph node dissection as well as a total checked number of lymph nodes ≥ 5 were involved in this study. The clinicopathological characteristics of patients were compared according to NMLNs, the number of central cervical lymph nodes (CLNs) and the number of lateral lymph nodes (LLNs). Results NMLNs > 5, CLNs > 5 and LLNs > 5 were 222 (32.0%), 159 (24.3%) and 70 (10.1%) seen in the analyzed samples, respectively. Young patients, patients with larger tumor diameter, bilaterality, multifocality and gross extrathyroidal extension (ETE) were more inclined to NMLNs > 5, CLNs > 5 and LLNs > 5 (P 10 mm (OR = 2.131), bilaterality (OR = 1.889) and tumor gross ETE (OR = 2.759) were independent predictors for high prevalence of total NMLNs > 5 (P 10 mm (OR = 2.006), and tumor gross ETE (OR = 2.520) were independent predictors for high prevalence of CLNs > 5 (P 5 (OR = 6.733) and tumor gross ETE (OR = 4.737) were independent predictors for high prevalence of LLNs > 5 (P

Metastasis is the primary reason of death in patients with cancer. Small nucleolar noncoding RNAs (snoRNAs) are conserved 60–300 nucleotide noncoding RNAs, involved in post‐transcriptional regulation of mRNAs and noncoding RNAs. Despite their essential roles in cancer, the roles of snoRNAs in epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT)‐induced metastasis have not been studied extensively. Here, we used small RNA sequencing to screen for snoRNAs related to EMT and breast cancer metastasis. We found a higher expression of SNORA71A in metastatic breast cancer tissues compared to nonmetastatic samples. Additionally, SNORA71A promoted the proliferation, migration, invasion and EMT of MCF‐7 and MDA‐MB‐231 cells. Mechanistically, SNORA71A elevated mRNA and protein levels of ROCK2, a negative regulator of TGF‐β signaling. Rescue assays showed ROCK2 abrogated the SNORA71A‐mediated increase in proliferation, migration, invasion and EMT. Binding of SNORA71A to mRNA stability regulatory protein G3BP1, increased ROCK2 mRNA half‐life. Furthermore, G3BP1 depletion abolished the SNORA71A‐mediated upregulation of ROCK2. In vivo, SNORA71A overexpression promoted breast tumor growth, and SNORA71A knockdown inhibited breast cancer growth and metastasis. We suggest SNORA71A enhances metastasis of breast cancer by binding to G3BP1 and stabilizing ROCK2.

This paper presents a strategy for extracting three-dimensional (3D) mining deformation from a single-geometry synthetic aperture radar (SAR) dataset. In light of the directionality of horizontal displacement caused by underground mining, we first re-model the proportional relationship between horizontal displacement and horizontal gradient of subsidence. Afterward, to improve the stability of the re-model, a solution strategy is proposed by setting different solution starting points and directions. The proposed method allows hiring of arbitrary single-geometry SAR data (e.g., air-borne, space-borne, and ground-borne SAR data) to reconstruct 3D displacements of mining areas. The proposed method has been validated through simulation and in-site data. The simulation data monitoring results indicate that the root mean square errors (RMSE) of the 3D displacements extracted by the proposed strategy are 0.45, 0.5, and 2.98 mm for the vertical subsidence, east–west, and north–south horizontal displacements, respectively. The in-site data monitoring results indicate that the RMSE of vertical subsidence compared with the leveling data are 7.3 mm. Furthermore, the MSBAS method was employed to further validate the reliability of the proposed method, the results show that the proposed method is effective to obtain the 3D deformation of the mining area, which greatly improves the applicability of SAR interferometry in the 3D deformation monitoring of the mining areas.

Background The etiology of granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM) remains unknown. This study aimed to detect bacteria in GLM using Nanopore sequencing and identify the relationship between GLM and Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii. Methods and materials The bacterial detection on fresh samples (including breast pus and tissue) of 50 GLM patients using nanopore sequencing and culture methods. The bacterial detection rate of participants with different stages were compared and analyzed. Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues from 39 patients were performed on Gram staining to identify Gram-positive bacilli (GPB) within lipid vacuoles. Moreover, the clinicopathological characteristics of GLM patients in different bacterial subgroups were also conducted. Results In 50 GLM patients, the detection rate of bacteria was 78% using nanopore sequencing method, especially in the early stage of GLM (over 80%), which was significantly higher than that using culture methods (24%, p

Granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM), also known as idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM), is a chronic inflammatory lesion of the breast. The incidence of GLM has been increasing in recent years, especially among young women. The etiologies of GLM have not been fully elucidated but are associated with autoimmunity and bacterial infection. Bacteria, especially Corynebacterium species, play important roles in GLM. In this article, we review research progress regarding the bacteriology of GLM attained with the application of several new high-throughput detection techniques. Accurate detection might be important for deepening our understanding of the pathogenesis of GLM and hold promise for personalized GLM therapy.

The double-layer charge can effectively improve the axial driving ability of explosives, which shows a considerable engineering application prospect in highly efficient damage warheads. Due to the complex wave structure produced by the overpressure detonation of a double-layer charge, a series of dynamic behaviors inside the shaped charge liner will be affected. By comparing the detonation wave shapes of single-layer charge and double-layer shaped charge structure and the jet shaping parameters of a double-layer shaped charge with different structural parameters, the evolution of detonation wave and the state parameters in the wave system are analyzed in this research. The research found that the double-layer charge with high detonation velocity in the outer layer and low detonation velocity in the inner layer can produce continuous overpressure detonation, which makes the overpressure detonation state be applied efficiently. Meanwhile, this study found that the overpressure detonation field formed by the double-layer charge changes the action law of the traditional single charge on the shaped charge liner. The detonation waveform of the entire charge is controlled by different detonation velocities and detonation energies, and a detonation waveform that matched well with the shaped charge liner is obtained. This study solves the matching relationship between the structure of the overpressure detonation wave system and the properties of a double-layer charge, which is of great value for improving the detonation-driving effect of condensed explosives on surrounding media. The double-layer charge can effectively enhance the potential of explosive charge. It is not only widely used in military fields such as improving the armor-breaking power of shaped charge penetrators and improving the muzzle velocity and concentration of fragments of directional warheads, but also can promote the development of industrial fields such as explosive processing.

Abstract Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are regarded as crucial regulators in tumor progression. Potassium two pore domain channel subfamily K member 15 and WISP2 antisense RNA 1 (KCNK15-AS1) has been confirmed to inhibit the migration and invasion of pancreatic cancer (PC) cells. However, its downstream mechanism and effect on other cellular functions in PC remain unknown. This study probed the function and potential mechanism of KCNK15-AS1 in PC cell growth. RT-qPCR and western blot were employed to measure gene expression in PC cells. ISH was applied to analyze KCNK15-AS1 expression in PC tissues. Functional assays were utilized to evaluate PC cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration and EMT. Mechanical experiments were adopted to detect gene interaction in PC cells. The obtained data indicated that KCNK15-AS1 was down-regulated in PC cells and tissues. Overexpressing KCNK15-AS1 hindered cell proliferation, migration and EMT while facilitated cell apoptosis in PC. Mechanically, alkylation repair homolog protein 5 (ALKBH5) was verified to induce m6A demethylation of KCNK15-AS1 to mediate KCNK15-AS1 up-regulation. KCNK15-AS1 combined with KCNK15 5’UTR to inhibit KCNK15 translation. Moreover, KCNK15-AS1 recruited MDM2 proto-oncogene (MDM2) to promote RE1 silencing transcription factor (REST) ubiquitination, thus transcriptionally upregulating phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) to inactivate AKT pathway. In conclusion, our study first confirmed that KCNK15-AS1 hinders PC cell growth by regulating KCNK15 and PTEN, suggesting KCNK15-AS1 as a potential biomarker of PC.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic is a significant worldwide health crisis. Breast cancer patients with COVID-19 are fragile and require particular clinical care. This study aimed to identify the clinical characteristics of breast cancer patients with COVID-19 and the risks associated with anti-cancer treatment. Methods: The medical records of breast cancer patients with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 were collected among 9559 COVID-19 patients from seven designated hospitals from 13th January to 18th March 2020 in Hubei, China. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to assess risk factors for COVID-19 severity. Results: Of the 45 breast cancer patients with COVID-19, 33 (73.3%) developed non-severe COVID-19, while 12 (26.7%) developed severe COVID-19, of which 3 (6.7%) patients died. The median age was 62 years, and 3 (6.7%) patients had stage IV breast cancer. The low flexoelectric coefficients of polymers are the key problem that limit their application. In this paper, electret-like PDMS/metal conductive layer/PDMS laminated structures have been prepared, an internal electric field are applied on the metal conductive layer aimed at improving electromechanical response. Experiments on the flexoelectric responses of polymer laminated structures under impact are performed based on SHPB, in-layer voltage supply system and polarization voltage measuring system. Numerical simulations are also conducted to investigate the dynamic stress-strain relationship and polarization characteristics of polymer laminated structure under different in-layer voltages. The results show that maximum stress increases with decreasing in-layer voltage; the maximum polarization voltage increases first and then decreases with absolute value of in-layer voltage; the minimum polarization voltage decreases with absolute value of in-layer voltage. Specimen with negative voltage has advantage of conversing electric energy and transferring charges. The impact induced strain gradients have been investigated based on numerical simulation and the related flexoelectricity coefficients are obtained. Addition of metal conductive layer and application of in-layer voltage are effective ways to enhance flexoelectricity.

To effectively monitor the spatio–temporal dynamics of the surface water extent (SWE) in Lake Victoria, this study introduced a novel methodology for generating a seamless SWE time series with fine resolution by integrating daily a Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and Landsat imagery. In the proposed methodology, daily normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) time series data with 30 m resolution were first generated based on the constructed pixel-by-pixel downscaling models between the simultaneously acquired MODIS-NDVI and Landsat-NDVI data. In the compositing process, a Minimum Value Composite (MinVC) algorithm was used to generate monthly minimum NDVI time series, which were then segmented into a seamless SWE time series of the years 2000–2020 with 30 m resolution from the cloud background. A comparison with the existing Landsat-derived JRC (European Joint Research Centre) monthly surface water products and altimetry-derived water level series revealed that the proposed methodology effectively provides reliable descriptions of spatio–temporal SWE dynamics. Over Lake Victoria, the average percentage of valid observations made using the JRC’s products was only about 70% due to persistent cloud cover or linear strips, and the correlation with the water level series was poor (R2 = 0.13). In contrast, our derived results strongly correlated with the water level series (R2 = 0.54) and efficiently outperformed the JRC’s surface water products in terms of both space and time. Using the derived SWE data, the long-term and seasonal characteristics of lake area dynamics were studied. During the past 20 years, a significant changing pattern of an initial decline followed by an increase was found for the annual mean SWE, with the lowest area of 66,386.57 km2 in 2006. A general seasonal variation in the monthly mean lake area was also observed, with the largest SWE obtained during June–August and the smallest SWE observed during September–November. Particularly in the spring of 2006 and the autumn of 2020, Lake Victoria experienced intense episodes of drought and flooding, respectively. These results demonstrate that our proposed methodology is more robust with respect to capturing spatially and temporally continuous SWE data in cloudy conditions, which could also be further extended to other regions for the optimal management of water resources.

Abstract Preoperative staging of suspicious axillary lymph nodes (ALNs) allows patients to be triaged to ALN dissection or to sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB). Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) and cytology of ALN is moderately sensitive but its clinical utility relies heavily on the cytologist’s experience. We proposed that the 5-h automated GeneXpert system-based prototype breast cancer detection assay (BCDA) that quantitatively measures DNA methylation in ten tumor-specific gene markers could provide a facile, accurate test for detecting cancer in FNA of enlarged lymph nodes. We validated the assay in ALN-FNA samples from a prospective study of patients (N = 230) undergoing SLNB. In a blinded analysis of 218 evaluable LN-FNAs from 108 malignant and 110 benign LNs by histology, BCDA displayed a sensitivity of 90.7% and specificity of 99.1%, achieving an area under the ROC curve, AUC of 0.958 (95% CI: 0.928–0.989; P

Images acquired using vision sensors are easily affected by environmental limitations, especially rain streaks. These streaks will seriously reduce image quality, which, in turn, reduces the accuracy of the algorithms that use the resulting images in vision sensor systems. In this paper, we proposed a method that combined the bilateral filter with the generative adversarial network to eliminate the interference of rain streaks. Unlike other methods that use all the information in an image as the input to the generative adversarial network, we used a bilateral filter to preprocess and separate the high frequency part of the original image. The generator for the high-frequency layer of the image was designed to generate an image with no rain streaks. The high-frequency information of the image was used in a high-frequency global discriminator designed to measure the authenticity of the generated image from multiple perspectives. We also designed a loss function based on the structural similarity index to further improve the effect of removal of the rain streaks. An ablation experiment proved the validity of the method. We also compared images in synthetic and real-world datasets. Our method could retain more image information, and the generated image was clearer.

Medium chain carboxylic acids (MCCAs, e.g., caproic acid, caprylic acid, etc.) with 6–12 carbon atoms are valuable platform chemicals produced from organic waste via microbial chain elongation metabolism named as reversed β-oxidation and fatty acid-biosynthesis cyclical pathway. Recently, many articles reported that electricity could not only serve as the external electron donor and provide the reduction equivalent required for chain elongation but also regulate the microbiome structure and metabolic behaviors to promote MCCAs formation. Electricity-steering MCCAs bioproduction has become an appealing technique to valorize low-value organic waste, paving an alternative pathway for net-zero carbon emission energy systems and sustainable socio-economic development. However, the MCCAs’ bioproduction from organic waste steered by electric field has not been comprehensively reviewed. From a systematical analysis of publicly available literature, we first covered the basic working principle, fermentation architecture, functional microflora, and metabolic pathway of MCCAs production driven by electricity. The strategies of substrate modulation, applied voltage/current regulation, electrode optimization, and microbial cooperation and stimulation for boosting electricity-driven MCCAs bioproduction are then scrutinized and extensively discussed. Ultimately, the pressing knowledge gaps and the potential path forward are proposed to provide pointers for consistently higher MCCAs yield and the transition from laboratory to market.

Aiming at the problem of loss imbalance in operation of three-level active neutral point clamped (ANPC) converter switching devices, this article provides an improved balancing strategy. Take phase as an example. The reasons for the loss of the three-level ANPC converter′s unbalanced loss were analyzed, and the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) strategy was used to reduce switch action to achieve loss balance by reasonably selecting the same transition state. Compared with the traditional SVPWM strategy, this method reduced the unbalance of the bridge arm switch from 23.12% to 6.37%, and the unbalance of the clamp switch from 11.19% to 4.71%. It can be used to increase the capacity and service life of converters in places such as motor frequency conversion speed regulation and high-voltage power transmission.

Abstract Background The relationship between cancer and COVID‐19 has been revealed during the pandemic. Some anticancer treatments have been reported to have negative influences on COVID‐19‐infected patients while other studies did not support this hypothesis. Methods A literature search was conducted in WOS, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, CNKI and VIP between Dec 1, 2019 and Sept 23, 2020 for studies on anticancer treatments in patients with COVID‐19. Cohort studies involving over 20 patients with cancer were included. The characteristics of the patients and studies, treatment types, mortality, and other additional outcomes were extracted and pooled for synthesis. RRs and forest plots were adopted to present the results. The literature quality and publication bias were assessed using NOS and Egger's test, respectively. Results We analyzed the data from 29 studies, with 5121 cancer patients with COVID‐19 meeting the inclusion criteria. There were no significant differences in mortality between patients receiving anticancer treatment and those not (RR 1.17, 95%CI: 0.96–1.43, I2=66%, p = 0.12). Importantly, in patients with hematological malignancies, chemotherapy could markedly increase the mortality (RR 2.68, 95% CI: 1.90–3.78, I2=0%, p

Aluminum honeycomb framework reinforced Al/PTFE material is a kind of high inert energetic material, which has higher strength and structure advantages than that of pure Al/PTFE material. In order to meet the requirements of special penetration/blasting performance, this paper adds aluminum honeycomb framework with arm length of 1.5 mm into the traditional formula Al/PTFE (mass percentage of Al and PTFE is 26.5% and 73.5%). The energetic material reinforced by aluminum honeycomb framework (20.5% Al/73.5% PTFE/6% aluminum honeycomb) is obtained by cold pressing sintering，and the experimental evaluation of release energy generated by high velocity impact in vacuum was performed by using two-stage light gas gun loading system, transient optical fiber pyrometer measurement system, overpressure measurement system and infrared thermal imager measurement system. Experimental results show that the impact reaction temperature is about 700 °C in vacuum in the velocity range of 0.96–1.5 km/s, and the energy release of the specimen increases with the increase of impact velocity. When the impact velocity is greater than 1.5 km/s, the specimen fully reacts, and the energy released by the complete reaction of the specimen does not exceed 8.3 kJ/g.
