The objective of this research program was to investigate the influence of various parameters on the fatigue life of wire rope through well controlled and statistically planned laboratory bend-over-sheave fatigue experiments. Parameters studied included three operating loads for ropes subjected to both simple single-sheave bending and two-sheave reverse bending. A total of 288 rope specimens were cycled to failure, and the results were analyzed statistically to determine which parameters had a significant influence on rope life.

The report, in four volumes, presents the results of research intended to enhance the utility of the original General Aviation Cost Impact Study (DOT-FA74WA-3118) by (1) identifying subcategories of business/corporate operators with varying effective after-tax sensitivities, (2) redefining the empirical cost impact relationships for business/corporate flying by using an expanded data base, and (3) providing information to permit greater insight into the nature of the business fleet by examining the financial characteristics of corporate owners., See also Volume 2, AD-A036 364.

The report in four volumes presents the results of an analysis of the effects of cost changes on general aviation activity. The major objectives of the study were to investigate ownership and operating costs in each segment of general aviation, and to develop methodology for evaluating the cost impact of regulatory changes on general aviation activity.
