This article focuses on Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) which seems to be in decline since the 1990s. The description of POE by Professor Jacqueline Vischer and its origins in the U.S. are presented. The advantages and disadvantages of the POE are cited. It reveals that over time, the POE methodology has been subsumed into BPE. The article concludes by offering two examples in making the case for BPEs as a method for informing and delivering climate-responsive and low-carbon buildings.
