Nowadays the knowledge society demands to have excellent professionals in the practice of values. This is why universities have an obligation to train upstanding students, capable to perform with responsibility and competition. The main objective of this work was to know the most important value in the life of a university student and its frequency in practice, where they forge it, also to identify how the university and its teachers promote values. Furthermore, in the study the instrument was a questionnaire applied to 193 first-cycle students in the Administration degree at División Académica de Ciencias Económico Administrativas of a public university in the state of Tabasco, a quantitative type investigation was used. Likewise, in the data obtained was shown that students know and possess values considered of high influence for their development and put into practice among classmates and teachers, also among the most important findings are the presence of fifteen values that are indicated as the most practiced in the university and its teachers to transmit an integral formation due to in this public educational institution they have professors with a correct performance and permanent ethics, examples inside and outside the institution maintaining mutual respect between teacher and student. However, a place of learning should always consider to enrich with talks towards university students about the importance of moral and ethical values to maintain a good edification of these and developing an intellectual, emotional and cultural growth to generate a positive impact to the society.

The current knowledge society is the germ of one of the deepest transformations in the university history, not only in social terms but also pedagogical. In this sense, global connections and internationalization are emerging as two of the aspects that have most affected the foundations of the university because both permeate all the processes that take place in it. If we add the rise of new methodologies like service-learning, in which the learning processes are combined with a service to the community, we are facing a real challenge due to the combination of both elements. In this article we analyze the possibilities of academic and pedagogical integration of service-learning in a technological and international projection. For this, we carried out a deep literature review in order to make an approach to both international service-learning and electronic learning-service. In addition to their similarities, we conclude that both hybridizations allow service-learning to respond to the pedagogical tendencies that have the greatest impact in a global context for higher education: international mobility and the irruption of technologies. However, the different forms of electronic service-learning seem more realistic and adjusted to the current situation than international service learning. This is especially accused in economic terms, since information and communication technologies allow to counteract the inconveniences that arise when a mobility component is introduced within a regulated training context.

El aprendizaje colaborativo, como técnica pedagógica, es utilizado frecuentemente en Educación Superior, teniendo en cuenta que saber trabajar en equipo es una competencia necesaria para la mayoría de las profesiones, especialmente para aquellas que se desarrollan en el ámbito educativo, dado que su trabajo precisa de la coordinación con otras personas y su acción educadora se dirige a otros individuos en los que deben promover conductas prosociales. En la elaboración de las actividades grupales, que conllevan el intercambio de información, la adopción de responsabilidades, el diálogo y la toma de decisiones, es habitual que para conseguirlo, los estudiantes utilicen la tecnología, en concreto WhatsApp, como herramienta de comunicación. El objetivo del estudio residió en el análisis y la valoración de las limitaciones de esta aplicación para la regulación de actividades académicas grupales. Se adoptó un enfoque descriptivo correlacional, recabando información mediante un cuestionario ad hoc que se implementó en 1709 estudiantes de los Grados en Educación Infantil, en Educación Primaria, en Educación Primaria de itinerario bilingüe y en Educación Social de la Universidad de Córdoba. El estudio reveló que, pese a las aportaciones de esta herramienta, su uso no está exento de limitaciones que obstaculizan las relaciones entre los miembros del grupo y el propio proceso de comunicación, sobre todo por la incomodidad de los chats grupales para conversaciones largas o complejas y los conflictos que pueden generarse al emitir mensajes confusos.

The study entitled «the I&D transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship in universities (Clay, 2015)» ran through the decade of 2000 to 2010 refers that the binary system of higher education in Portugal was responsible for 40% of the investment in innovation and development (I&D) of all the Portuguese economy.Students are a fundamental and indispensable part of an educational institution from the point of view of citizenship and social development. For this reason, a reflection on its economic difficulties, when they join in higher education institutions, is transferred to these institutions and responsible its leaders towards the pursuit of educational goals related to the school, providing students a better well-being, both mental, social and economic.This design has, slowly, over the last four decades, been provided with greater range and with increased equity, very under the legislative changes proposed by the educational institutions, as well as by the demands expressed by receivers who attend this school level, the students.It is important to stress that the School Social action in the Portuguese higher education appears associated with the concept of effective equal opportunities that are produced through legislation or through other information sources that discuss the subject, as has occurred in the last four decades analyzed.The approach of social benefits in this level of education shall examine the multiple facets that it takes given their link to the educational success and welfare of trainees and therefore to the enhancement of a meritocratic society.Also due to the important contribution of territorial cohesion, especially in areas of Portugal, in the case of Portugal, with a lower population density and lower socio-economic levels, as well reflected in the study entitled «the I&D transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship in universities (Clay, 2015)» ran through the decade of 2000 to 2010 refers that the binary system of higher education in Portugal was responsible for 40% of the investment in innovation and development (I&D) of all the Portuguese economy.

Although the literature about MOOCs is abundant, yet many questions remain unresolved regarding their current usefulness and their future evolution. It is necessary to continue with studies that shed light about it. We must to be able to quantify and correctly interpret the collected data. In this issue we have eight papers that will give us a better view of the MOOCs from a practical perspective.

Este estudio ofrece un espacio para pensar la internacionalización de las instituciones de enseñanza superior brasileñas de forma más crítica a partir de un meta-análisis de los estudios de un grupo de investigación que aborda cuestiones como programas de internacionalización y políticas lingüísticas y de internacionalización en ese contexto. Un hallazgo del meta-análisis sugiere una brecha (y desajuste) de principios y políticas para guiar el proceso de internacionalización de forma crítica en Brasil. La internacionalización crítica se aborda teniendo en cuenta el papel de programas y políticas lingüísticas y de internacionalización bien como a partir del reconocimiento de la mercantilización de la educación y de los medios de contrarrestarla. Para tanto, se sugiere la desconstrucción del imaginario jerárquico de dominación intelectual y cultural y la interacción solidaria entre las instituciones de los países periféricos para fortalecer el carácter de bien público de la enseñanza superior.

El propósito de esta investigación es analizar la importancia atribuida a la formación continua en el desarrollo de las competencias profesionales en el profesorado de educación superior, involucrando al profesorado de las escuelas públicas que imparten la formación de Enfermería en Portugal. Se utilizó una metodología descriptiva basada en la aplicación de un cuestionario a una muestra de 157 profesores seleccionados a través de un muestreo aleatorio simple. La validez de contenido del cuestionario se obtuvo a través de la consulta a expertos. En lo que se refiere a la fiabilidad del instrumento de medición, se obtuvo a través del coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach en las categorías “Motivaciones para el desarrollo en acciones de formación y/o desarrollo profesional continuo”, “Necesidades actuales de formación continua” y en la dimensión “Importancia atribuida a la formación continua en el desarrollo de competencias del profesor en la enseñanza superior”. Los resultados indican la existencia de relación entre las necesidades del profesorado y sus motivaciones, con la importancia atribuida a la formación continua en el desarrollo de competencias y también la existencia de diferencia significativa entre la importancia atribuida por los profesores a la formación continua, entre la categoría “Investigar” y las demás categorías de competencias.

The purpose of this paper is to contribute to a better understanding of the process of evaluation of teaching performance in the university context, evidencing the ineffectiveness and poor validity of the questionnaire as a mechanism for the improvement of higher education. The paper analyzes the perspectives of undergraduate students about a questionnaire with which they periodically assess the performance of their professors, to judge their relevance and usefulness as an evaluation tool. It is a qualitative research through the case study modality. The case was represented by the Xochimilco and Cuajimalpa Units of the Autonomous Metropolitan University (uam). The theoretical perspective of teacher evaluation is also placed in a framework of qualitative and comprehensive evaluation. The results are grouped into three blocks referring to the teacher evaluation questionnaire that the students answer: 1) student opinions on the questionnaire, 2) uses of the results of the teacher evaluation, and 3) proposal to evaluate the teaching performance. Among the conclusions, it is emphasized that the evaluation process is associated in a priority way with the granting of economic stimuli to teachers and tangentially with the improvement of the quality of teaching. This situation disagrees with a very extended vision that links the results of the teacher evaluation with the improvement of education.

This paper reports the findings of a research study reviewing the one hand , models of knowledge management , conceptualization and processes and on the other , the results obtained through the application of ICT , one tool support necessary for successful implementation of knowledge management . For this to be achieved , the university must flexible and adapt to new rules imposed Knowledge Management regarding new technologies of information and communication technologies (ICT ), penetrating the Knowledge Society through tangible actions, incorporating methodological and curricular changes that facilitate the flow of knowledge and active involvement of students in order to make known that knowledge production and in turn can be used in the progress of science in different fields of research . This is a qualitative and quantitative research using an interpretive ex -post - facto descriptive study. The sampling technique corresponds to a non-probability sampling. We used the survey and applied a questionnaire to students who were in third grade of primary school in the year 2012-2013.

En este artículo mostramos, tras una pequeña introducción sobre las funciones sociales y posibilidades actuales de la televisión y en concreto de la televisión universitaria, la experiencia llevada a cabo en la Universidad de Granada con la puesta en marcha de una televisión Universitaria. Explicamos lo que se está haciendo (tipo de emisiones) y cómo, ya que la Universidad de Granada ha apostado por la evolución tecnológica y está trabajando la televisión vía Internet y explotando sus posibilidades; describimos los recursos que está utilizando la UGR para la producción y distribución de material audiovisual. Finalmente valoramos la puesta en marcha de esta experiencia y señalamos sus posibilidades futuras en torno a su potencial formativo además de informativo y cómo ésta puede incidir en la formación de los receptores, modificando sus conocimientos, conducta, actitudes, etc., pero que sobre todo se ha de basar en la mejora del proceso de formación del individuo.

Se realizó una investigación con estudiantes de la asignatura de Estadística de diferentes instituciones universitarias, en relación con la utilización de estrategias de aprendizaje para registrar la información. Tomando como marco de referencia las teorías constructivistas del aprendizaje, el objetivo del trabajo se centra en comprobar el impacto de determinadas estrategias de aprendizaje en el proceso de toma de apuntes (note-taking) por parte de los estudiantes durante el aprendizaje. Se trabajó con tres temas de una unidad didáctica de la asignatura de Estadística, tomando tres mediciones: la primera sin la utilización de estrategias de aprendizaje en la toma de apuntes, la segunda después de utilizar la estrategia A, y la tercera después de utilizar la estrategia B. Las mediciones se realizaron a dos grupos experimentales y un grupo control, mediante preguntas de selección múltiple con única respuesta y medidas con una calificación de 0 a 5. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que en los grupos donde los estudiantes utilizan las estrategias de aprendizaje seleccionadas para tomar apuntes mejoran su nivel de respuesta, lo cual no se produce en el grupo control.

This article examines the limitations of the traditional positivist paradigm in the assessment of teaching quality in higher education and proposes the use of an Interpretivist perspective as an evaluative alternative. A case study of a novice college instructor is used for illustrating the limitations of the traditional paradigm and identifying critical issues that take place when the evaluation bases only on student ratings as the only source for determining teaching quality.
