Metasurfaces hold tremendous promise for various innovative sensing applications, thanks to their remarkable ability to manipulate light. A recent significant advancement in this research direction is using quasi‐BIC (bound states in the continuum) metasurfaces for mid‐infrared molecular sensing, which relies on creating a series of nearly uniformly spaced, sharp resonances on a single device. Although many studies have highlighted the potential of adopting this method in the terahertz (THz) regime, experimental demonstration is lacking. In this work, the first experimental demonstration of such frequency comb‐like, quasi‐BIC resonances on a single device is presented in the THz regime. By pixelating a 6‐inch Si wafer with 25 different metasurfaces that possess both high‐order quasi‐BIC modes and a geometric scaling, a set of 241 sharp resonances ranging from 350 to 750 GHz is produced based on numerical simulation. By using a high‐resolution vector network analyzer, 140 peaks that fall into the detection range from 500 to 750 GHz are confirmed experimentally, and their frequencies match well with the simulated results. Comprehensive previous studies on electrocatalysts have found that increasing the active area of the catalyst as well as increasing the conductivity are effective methods to enhance the catalytic activity of oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In this work, we hydrothermally synthesized an innovative coral-acicular core-shell heterojunction nanomaterial with an overpotential of ∼150 mV and a Tafel slope of ∼78.6 mV dec−1 at a current density of 10 mA cm−2 by doping appropriate amounts of Fe and coupling g-C 3 N 4. It is found that the specific surface area is 13 times higher than that of precursor Ni 0.85 Se, and the catalytic performance is increased by 200 %. The heterostructure of this material is demonstrated to improve the electron transport properties through energy band analysis and density functional theory (DFT) simulations, and it is found to have the best theoretical overpotential. The coral-acicular core-shell heterostructure in this work provides a valuable theoretical and practical basis for the design and development of efficient catalysts in terms of morphology and structure. A recent Cyberball study has indicated that the experience of loss of control can affect how people process subsequent social exclusion. This "preexposure effect" supports the idea of a common cognitive system involved in the processing of different types of social threats. To test the validity of this assumption in the current study, we reversed the sequence of the preexposure setup. We measured the effects of social exclusion on the subsequent processing of loss of control utilizing event-related brain potentials (ERPs) and self-reports. In the control group (CG, n = 26), the transition to loss of control elicited significant increases in both the P3 amplitude and the self-reported negative mood. Replicating the results of the previous preexposure study, these effects were significantly reduced by the preexposure to an independent social threat (here: social exclusion). In contrast to previous findings, these effects were not modulated by the discontinuation (EG1disc, n = 25) or continuation (EG2cont, n = 24) of the preexposure threat. Given that the P3 effect is related to the violation of subjective expectations, these results support the notion that preexposure to a specific social threat has widespread effects on the individuals' expectancy of upcoming social participation and control. Objective •This study aims to assess the correlation between allergic conjunctivitis (AC) and allergic rhinitis (AR). Methods • A total of 462 patients diagnosed with either allergic conjunctivitis or allergic rhinitis and treated at our hospital from January 2018 to December 2020 were included. Patients were categorized into two groups, the AC group and the AR group, based on their initial department of consultation. The AC group comprised 232 patients diagnosed with allergic conjunctivitis in the ophthalmology department, while the AR group consisted of 230 patients diagnosed with allergic rhinitis in the ENT department. Allergen analysis was conducted on patients presenting with both AC and AR and conjunctival and nasal mucosal scrapings were performed to examine eosinophil presence. The study analyzed the association between allergic AC and AR. Results • In the AC group, 174 patients (75.00%) had concurrent AR, while in the AR group, 169 patients (73.48%) had concurrent AC. Inhalant allergen testing among patients with concurrent AC and AR revealed that the primary inhalant allergens were dust mites, house dust, and fungi, with specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) positivity of 91.23%. Testing for food allergens identified fish, shrimp, and crab as ingestive allergens, with a specific IgE positivity of 58.58%. Eosinophil presence was assessed through conjunctival and nasal mucosal scrapings in patients with concurrent AC and AR. Eosinophils were detected in 188 cases (54.81%) through conjunctival scraping and 197 cases (57.43%) through nasal mucosal scraping, with no significant differences observed (P > .05). Conclusions • AC and AR share a common pathophysiological process and allergen profile, with the conjunctiva and nasal mucosa serving as sites of allergic reactions. Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of serum CRP and IL-6 assays combined with the pancreatitis activity scoring system (PASS) in assessing the severity of patients with acute pancreatitis (AP). Methods: This was a retrospective study of 223 patients with AP admitted to Baoding Lianchi District People’s Hospital between February 2021 and 2023. They were classified into three categories: mild AP (MAP), moderate severe AP (MSAP) and severe AP (SAP). The differences, accuracy and sensitivity of the individual assays, and the three in combination, were compared and analysed in the three groups. Results: PASS scores, IL-6 and CRP levels were significantly higher in the SAP and MSAP groups compared to those in the MAP group, with statistically significant differences between the three groups. Multi-factorial logistic regression analysis suggested that PASS, IL-6 and CRP were correlated indicators of AP severity. The combination of the three assays was higher than that of the PASS score, IL-6 and CRP alone, suggesting optimal diagnostic efficacy when the three assays were combined. Moreover, the levels of PASS score, IL-6 and CRP showed a positive correlation with the degree of disease severity. Conclusions: The serum CRP, IL-6 and PASS scores were significantly elevated in AP patients and showed a positive correlation with disease severity, all of which are beneficial for the diagnosis of AP. PASS is superior to CRP and IL-6 in the assessment of AP. The combination of the three assays can achieve a far superior diagnostic efficacy to that of the individual index assays. Lacto-N-triose II (LNT II), an essential human milk oligosaccharide and precursor to lacto-N-tetraose (LNT) and lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT), was evaluated for safety. Genotoxicity was assessed through in vitro tests including Bacterial Reverse Mutation Test and mammalian cell micronucleus test, and a subchronic oral gavage toxicity study was conducted on juvenile Sprague-Dawley rats. In this study, LNT II was administered at dose levels of 0, 1,500, 2,500, or 5,000 mg/kg body weight (bw)/day for 90 days, followed by a 4-week treatment-free recovery period. LNT II was non-genotoxic in the in vitro assays. No compound-related effects were observed across all dosage levels based on various measures, including clinical observations, body weight gain, feed consumption, clinical pathology, organ weights, and histopathology. Consequently, the highest dosage of 5,000 mg/kg bw/day was established as the no-observed-adverse-effect-level (NOAEL). On the basis of the mechanisms of action and characteristics of immune effects, immunity is commonly categorized into innate and adaptive immunity. Adaptive immunity is associated with the response to non‐self‐entities and is characterized by high specificity and memory properties. In contrast, innate immunity has traditionally been considered devoid of memory characteristics. However, an increasing number of studies have sought to challenge this conventional immunological dogma and shown that innate immune cells exhibit a more robust and rapid response to secondary stimulation, thus providing evidence of the immunological memory in innate immunity. Macrophages, which are among the most important innate immune cells, can also acquire memory phenotype that facilitates the mediation of recall responses. Macrophage memory is a relatively new concept that is revolutionizing our understanding of macrophage biology and immunological memory and could lead to a new class of vaccines and immunotherapies. Teaching medicinal chemistry in English plays a crucial role in cultivating international and innovative pharmaceutical talents. This study, based on the practical work of teaching medicinal chemistry in English, identified the pain points of this practice, such as limited and abstract teaching content and the limited teachers' level. Moreover, adhering to the concept of "student-centered and international-oriented" teaching, this study entailed an innovative practice research on teaching medicinal chemistry in English from the perspectives of teaching staff, teaching content, and teaching methods. It was revealed that, to improve the quality of teaching, this practice should focus on an innovative international teaching system based on the following four aspects: teaching team building, teaching methods, curriculum system, and teaching materials. Objective: To investigate the value of early laboratory indicators combined with the pancreatitis activity scoring system in assessing the severity and prognosis of acute pancreatitis (AP). Methods: This is a retrospective study. A total of 160 patients with AP admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University from February 2021 to February 2023 were enrolled and classified into three categories: mild acute pancreatitis (MAP), moderate severe acute pancreatitis (MSAP), and severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), with 80 cases with MAP and MSAP as the control group and 80 cases with SAP as the experimental group. The differences of inflammatory markers, blood routine, biochemical markers, coagulation markers and PASS score within 24 hours after admission were compared between the two groups, and independent risk factors for predicting AP severity were analyzed. Moreover, the diagnostic efficacy and prognostic value of independent risk factors were evaluated. Results: The PASS score as well as CRP, PCT, IL-6, WBC, N, AST, DD and PT were higher in the experimental group than in the control group. Logistic regression analysis suggested that PASS, IL-6, PCT and WBC were independent risk factors for predicting severity of AP. In addition, PASS had the highest diagnostic efficacy. Conclusion: Early elevation of PASS, IL-6, PCT and WBC in patients suffering from AP is of great significance in predicting SAP. Experiencing a social threat, such as social exclusion, is a painful event. In contrast to previous studies providing insight into the processing of a single short-termed threat, we exposed healthy individuals to the simultaneous onset of different social threats. This approach allowed us to track whether these threats are processed independently—or whether they interact in a common system. Using a virtual ball-throwing game (Cyberball), electrophysiological (event-related brain potentials, ERPs) and behavioral (self-reports) responses were collected. We assigned undergraduates to three experimental groups: single threat exclusion (n = 24), single threat loss of control (n = 26), and joint onset of both threats (dual-threat, n = 25). Self-reports indicated an increase in threats (i.e., in perceived exclusion and loss-of-control) in the latter group. The ERPs disentangled the neural responses to each threat: In the dual-threat group, the amplitudes of the P3 responses to exclusionary and intervention events were enhanced. This indicates that individuals are sensitized to each of the threats when the other threat is present simultaneously. Background: TDP-43 (43-kD transactive response DNA-binding protein) is a DNA-/RNA-binding protein that plays an important role in several nervous system diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Whether it plays an important role in glioma patients is unknown. Methods: Datasets were downloaded from the Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CGGA) website (http://www.cgga.org.cn/). Cox survival analysis was performed to determine the relationship between TARDBP gene expression and the overall survival of glioma patients. GO analyses were performed to determine the biological functions of the TARDBP gene. Finally, we used PRS type, age, grade, IDH mutation status, 1p/19q codeletion status, and expression value of the TARDBP gene to construct a prediction model. With this model, we can predict patients' 1-, 2-, 3-, 5-, and 10-year survival rates. Results: The TARDBP gene plays an important role in glioma patients. The expression of the TARDBP gene has a significant correlation with glioma patient survival. We also constructed an ideal prediction model. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that the TARDBP gene and the protein it encodes play important roles in glioma patients. Simple Summary: Phytoseiid mites are widely distributed on plants and in soil; they can prey on many phytophagous mites and pests and play an important role in biological control programs. The genus Neoseiulus Hughes is one of the largest genera within the Phytoseiidae family, comprising 14.6% of the family's species worldwide. At present, there are few reports investigating Neoseiulus from Shanxi Province; however, the study on the species diversity of Neoseiulus is helpful to enrich the resource species bank of Phytoseiidae and provide more detailed basis for species identification. We report the discovery of five additional species in Shanxi, and redescribed four of them. Neoseiulus paraki (Ehara) is recorded for the first time in China, and N. neoreticuloides (Liang and Hu) is considered a new junior synonym of N. bicaudus (Wainstein). We provide a key to assist in the identification of the known species of Neoseiulus in Shanxi. The genus Neoseiulus in Shanxi Province is reviewed and seven species are recorded from the province. Four of these are redescribed and detailed taxonomic information are provided. Neoseiulus paraki (Ehara) is recorded for the first time in China and Neoseiulus neoreticuloides (Liang and Hu) is considered a new junior synonym of Neoseiulus bicaudus (Wainstein). CO2 cycloaddition with epoxides is a key catalytic procedure for CO2 utilization. Several metal-based catalysts with cocatalysts are developed for photo-driven CO2 cycloaddition, while facing difficulties in product purification and continuous reaction. Here, poly(ionic liquid)s are proposed as metal-free catalysts for photo-driven CO2 cycloaddition without cocatalysts. A series of poly(ionic liquid)s with donor-acceptor segments are fabricated and their photo-driven catalytic performance (conversion rate of 83.5% for glycidyl phenyl ether) outstrips (≈4.9 times) their thermal-driven catalytic performance (17.2%) at the same temperature. Mechanism studies confirm that photo-induced charge separation is promoted by the donor-acceptor segments and can accelerate the CO2 cycloaddition reaction. Objective. In view of network pharmacology and molecular docking technology, to explore the targets as well as effect mechanism of the Huanglian Jiangtang formula (including Coptis chinensis, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, rhubarb wine, Cortex Moutan, Rehmannia glutinosa, and dried ginger) in the type II diabetes therapy. Methods. TCMSP and Batman database (DB) were used to retrieve the chemical components and action targets of drugs; GeneCards, OMIM, TTD, DrugBank, and other databases were applied to screen the disease targets. We used the UniProt DB to annotate the targets before building the drug-compound-target network with Cytoscape 3.9.1. We also exploited the String DB to construct the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network. In addition, the targets for the treatment of type II diabetes were searched in the DrugBank, OMIM, GeneCards, and TTD database; then, we utilized Venn to intersect the key targets for the therapy of type II diabetes and active ingredient targets to obtain common targets. Furthermore, we exploited the common targets using GO and KEGG enrichment analysis method. The common targets and core components were analyzed by molecular docking using the AutoDock software. Results. A total of 61 effective components of this compound were screened out; drugs and type II diabetes have 278 common targets; the PPI network screened core target proteins such as CDKN1A, CDK2, and E2F1 with the help of molecular docking technology; the three main compounds including quercetin, kaempferol, and gamma-aminobutyric acid were obtained. Besides, the key target proteins had excellent binding properties with the main components. The signal pathways of six compound interventions in type II diabetes were mostly related to cancer, cocaine addiction, aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, glycine, serine, threonine metabolism, platinum drug resistance, and other pathways, according to the KEGG enrichment analysis method. Conclusion. In the treatment of diabetes, the Huanglian Jiangtang formula has sorts of properties especially in the aspects of composition, target, and pathway. Its molecular target and mechanism of action may be related to pathways in cancer, cocaine addiction, aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, glycine, serine, threonine metabolism, platinum drug resistance, and other pathways. Today, semantic web services are rapidly evolving and updating. The discovery of semantic web services is an important concept for the comprehensiveness of individual web services in creating new intelligent systems that meet the complex needs of users and is an important technology in the domain of web services. One of its main goals is to reuse existing web services and combine them in a process that has attracted a lot of attention from different communities like the Internet of Things (IoT). Currently, the discovery of web services in the most common category includes four main methods and a set of sub-methods. Most semantic web service discovery methods are done using semantic descriptions of web services using ontology based on existing pattern recognition approaches. In this research, a new approach is presented that in the first step, the web services description language (WSDL) is scanned and the infrastructure is examined. In the second step, by adding the technique of extracting background information that can be received from the WSDL, the field limitations and existing patterns are considered and detected by semantic spacing on the discovering web services. Also, web services whose parameters contain synonymous synonyms, irregular composite fragments, and similar abbreviations with high accuracy in a cluster contract. The proposed approach is based on a semantic pattern recognition using data mining and finally, the output of the proposed method is single and combined services that have high accuracy and speed of the proposed algorithm in web service discussions. In this communication, we report a new covalent organic framework (COF) material, Zn-COF, and estimated its catalytic performance on higher sugar generation from glycolaldehyde through the formose reaction. The results confirmed that Zn-COF presented highest reaction efficiency under mechano-catalysis conditions with 62.7% glycolaldehyde conversion in 2 h and a normalized reaction rate (Rg) of 31.35 × 10−4 mol h−1 g−1. Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is an inherited disorder that results in large kidneys, numerous fluid-filled cysts, and ultimately end-stage kidney disease. PKD is either autosomal dominant caused by mutations in PKD1 or PKD2 genes or autosomal recessive caused by mutations in the PKHD1 or DZIP1L genes. While the genetic basis of PKD is known, the downstream molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways that lead to deregulation of proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation are not completely understood. The Notch pathway plays critical roles during kidney development including directing differentiation of various progenitor cells, and aberrant Notch signaling results in gross alternations in cell fate. In the present study, we generated and studied transgenic mice that have overexpression of an intracellular fragment of mouse Notch1 ('NotchIC') in renin-expressing cells. Mice with overexpression of NotchIC in renin-expressing cells developed numerous fluid-filled cysts, enlarged kidneys, anemia, renal insufficiency, and early death. Cysts developed in both glomeruli and proximal tubules, had increased proliferation marks, and had increased levels of Myc. The present work implicates the Notch signaling pathway as a central player in PKD pathogenesis and suggests that the Notch-Myc axis may be an important target for therapeutic intervention. A novel flame retardant, tetraethylene pentamine heptamethylene tetraphosphonate dimethyl ester ammonium triphosphorus acid (TPHTDEAT), was synthesized and characterized by NMR. TPHTDEAT-treated cotton fabrics showed excellent flame retardancy tested by the limiting oxygen index (LOI) of 43.3% of cotton fabrics treated with 40 mass% TPHTDEAT and excellent durability tested by LOI of 29.6% of cotton fabrics after 50 laundering cycles according to AATCC 61-2013 2A standard. Most phosphorus existed as phosphonates, which did not combine with metal ions to reduce the flame retardancy during the washing process. P and N atoms were tested by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy on the treated cotton fibers. The SEM and XRD results implied that flame retardants entered the cotton fiber interiors. The FTIR and durability results suggested that TPHTDEAT was grafted with -OH of cellulose molecules of cotton fibers. The TG analysis suggested that TPHTDEAT promoted char formation during heating process. The cone calorimetry results indicated that the heat release rate and total heat release of TPHTDEAT-treated cotton were much lower than those of untreated cotton. These results indicated that excellent flame retardancy of treated cotton and the durability of treated cotton were increased by introducing phosphonate groups into flame retardant molecules. BACKGROUND: To analyze early changes in white blood cells (WBCs), C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PCT) in children with multiple trauma, before secondary inflammation develops. METHODS: This single-center retrospective study collected data from patients with blunt traumatic injury admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). According to the prognostic outcome of 28 d after admission to the PICU, patients were divided into survival group (n=141) and non-survival group (n=36). Characteristics between the two groups were compared. Receiver operation characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was conducted to evaluate the capacity of different biomarkers as predictors of mortality. RESULTS: The percentages of children with elevated WBC, CRP, and PCT levels were 81.36%, 31.07%, and 95.48%, respectively. Patients in the non-survival group presented a statistically significantly higher injury severity score (ISS) than those in the survival group: 37.17±16.11 vs. 22.23±11.24 (t=6.47, P<0.01). WBCs were also higher in non-survival group than in the survival group ([18.70±8.42]×109/L vs. [15.89±6.98] ×109/L, t=2.065, P=0.040). There was no significant difference between the survival and non-survival groups in PCT or CRP. The areas under the ROC curves of PCT, WBC and ISS for predicting 28-day mortality were 0.548 (P=0.376), 0.607 (P=0.047) and 0.799 (P<0.01), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Secondary to multiple trauma, PCT levels increased in more patients, even if their WBC and CRP levels remained unchanged. To promote the sustainable development of society, it is important to develop methods for facile fabrication of bio‐based plastics that are mechanically robust and capable of recycling and completely degrading in soil. In this study, such bio‐based supramolecular plastics are conveniently and cost‐effectively fabricated by cross‐linking epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) and low‐molecular‐weight polylactic acid (PLA) (≈2 kDa) with dynamic boroxines. The bio‐based supramolecular plastic, which is denoted as ESO‐PLA, exhibits a tensile strength of ≈43 MPa and is highly flexible and water‐resistant. After being stored in an environment with a 100% relative humidity for 10 days, the tensile strength of the plastic remains higher than polyethylene. Due to the reversibility of boroxines, the ESO‐PLA plastic can be conveniently processed into different shapes and products. Meanwhile, the plastic can be recycled multiple times for repeated usage by either hot‐pressing or solvent‐assisted depolymerization/repolymerization methods. Benefiting from the easy degradation of ESO and low‐molecular‐weight PLA, the breakage of boroxine cross‐links enables rapid and complete degradation of the plastics in soil within 60 days. Additionally, in vitro and in vivo tests prove that the ESO‐PLA plastic exhibits satisfactory biocompatibility, which extends its application in medicine, food, and cosmetics industries. The test bench was designed to solve the problem of measuring the oil film thickness of the liquid hydrostatic guideway of machine tools. And based on the fast overshoot of the classical PID control, introducing the self-antidisturbance control algorithm, this study established a mathematical model of the test bench electro-hydraulic servo control system. At the same time, this paper also designed a specific structure of the self-turbulence controller, which adopts optimal quadratic control, pole configuration, PID control, and self-turbulence control to study the control methods of the test bench electro-hydraulic servo system, respectively, and uses the SIMULINK module to establish the system simulation model of the above-mentioned four control methods of the test bench. Simulation results of the test bench control system show that the response speed of the self-turbulence control is 0.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds, and 4.4 seconds faster than PID control, pole configuration, and optimal quadratic control, respectively, and the overshoot is significantly reduced. Finally, the test bench was built to complete the experiments, and the experimental results showed that the followability of the loading force and thickness detection accuracy of the test bench were better after adding the self-turbulence control algorithm and the stability of the oil film thickness was significantly improved by the test bench electro-hydraulic servo control system. Previous studies indicated that the onsets of different social threats, such as threats to "belonging" and "control", are inconsistent with the subjective beliefs of social participation and require readjustment of expectations. Because a common cognitive system is assumed to be involved, the adjustment triggered by the experience of a single social threat should affect the processing of subsequent social interactions. We examined how preexposure to a loss of control affected social exclusion processing by using the Cyberball paradigm. An event-related brain component (P3) served as a probe for the state of the expectancy system, and self-reports reflected the subjective evaluations of the social threats. In the control group (n = 23), the transition to exclusion elicited a significant P3 effect and a high threat to belonging in the self-reports. Both effects were significantly reduced when the exclusion was preceded by preexposure to a loss of control (EG1disc, n = 23). These effects, however, depend on the offset of the preexposure. In case of a continuation (EG2cont, n = 24), the P3 effect was further reduced, but the threat to belonging was restored. We conclude that the P3 data are consistent with predictions of a common expectancy violation account, whereas self-reports are supposed to be affected by additional processes. Paddy soils in some areas of southern China are contaminated by arsenic (As) and cadmium (Cd), threatening human health via the consumption of As- and/or Cd-tainted rice. To date, a quantitative understanding of how soil characteristics control As and Cd accumulation in rice grains under field conditions is still deficient. Based on 31 paired soil-grain samples collected in southern China, we statistically explored which soil parameter or parameter combination from various soil analyses best estimates As and Cd in rice. We found that CaCl2 extraction of field-moist soil collected at rice harvest provided the best estimation (R2adj = 0.47–0.60) for grain Cd followed by dry soil CaCl2 extraction (R2adj = 0.38–0.49), where CaCl2 extractable Cd from moist or dry soil was the dominant soil parameter. Compared to soil totals, parameters from neither dry soil ascorbate-citrate extraction nor anoxic soil incubation improved model performance for grain As (R2adj ≤ 0.44), despite their closer relevance to soil redox conditions during plant As uptake. A key role of soil-available sulfur in controlling grain As was suggested by our models. Visual odometry is the task of estimating the trajectory of the moving agents from consecutive images. It is a hot research topic both in robotic and computer vision communities and facilitates many applications, such as autonomous driving and virtual reality. The conventional odometry methods predict the trajectory by utilizing the multiple view geometry between consecutive overlapping images. However, these methods need to be carefully designed and fine-tuned to work well in different environments. Deep learning has been explored to alleviate the challenge by directly predicting the relative pose from the paired images. Deep learning-based methods usually focus on the consecutive images that are feasible to propagate the error over time. In this paper, graph loss and geodesic rotation loss are proposed to enhance deep learning-based visual odometry methods based on graph constraints and geodesic distance, respectively. The graph loss not only considers the relative pose loss of consecutive images, but also the relative pose of non-consecutive images. The relative pose of non-consecutive images is not directly predicted but computed from the relative pose of consecutive ones. The geodesic rotation loss is constructed by the geodesic distance and the model regresses a Lie algebra so(3) (3D vector). This allows a robust and stable convergence. To increase the efficiency, a random strategy is adopted to select the edges of the graph instead of using all of the edges. This strategy provides additional regularization for training the networks. Extensive experiments are conducted on visual odometry benchmarks, and the obtained results demonstrate that the proposed method has comparable performance to other supervised learning-based methods, as well as monocular camera-based methods. Background: Pinus tabuliformis adapts to cold climate with dry winter in northern China, serving as important commercial tree species. The TEOSINTE BRANCHED 1, CYCLOIDEA, and PROLIFERATING CELL FACTOR family(TCP)transcription factors were found to play a role in the circadian clock system in Arabidopsis. However, the role of TCP transcription factors in P. tabuliformis remains little understood. Results: In the present study, 43 TCP genes were identified from P. tabuliformis genome database. Based on the phylogeny tree and sequence similarity, the 43 TCP genes were classified into four groups. The motif results showed that different subfamilies indeed contained different motifs. Clade II genes contain motif 1, clade I genes contain motif 1, 8, 10 and clade III and IV contain more motifs, which is consistent with our grouping results. The structural analysis of PtTCP genes showed that most PtTCPs lacked introns. The distribution of clade I and clade II on the chromosome is relatively scattered, while clade III and clade IV is relatively concentrated. Co-expression network indicated that PtTCP2, PtTCP12, PtTCP36, PtTCP37, PtTCP38, PtTCP41 and PtTCP43 were co-expressed with clock genes in annual cycle and their annual cycle expression profiles both showed obvious seasonal oscillations. PtTCP2, PtTCP12, PtTCP37, PtTCP38, PtTCP40, PtTCP41, PtTCP42 and PtTCP43 were co-expressed with clock genes in diurnal cycle. Only the expression of PtTCP42 showed diurnal oscillation. Conclusions: The TCP gene family, especially clade II, may play an important role in the regulation of the season and circadian rhythm of P. tabuliformis. A static experiment in greenhouse was conducted to investigate the growth of three grasses in high and medium eutrophic water and the effects of their removal on ammonia nitrogen (NH4 +-N), nitrate nitrogen (NO3 2-N), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), and the chemical oxygen demand (COD), and compared with cattail (Typha angustifolia). The results showed that 1) the removal efficiency of NH4 +-N, NO3 2-N, TN, TP, and COD treated by the four plants in eutrophic water were significantly higher than that in non-plant water. With the extension of treatment time, the concentrations of NH4 +-N, NO3 2-N, TN, TP, and COD in the eutrophic water decreased first and then tend to be stable. 2) Cynodon dactylon 'Tifton 85' (C. dactylon 'Tifton 85'), Cortaderia selloana 'Pumila' (C. selloana 'Pumila') and T. angustifolia absorbed more than 95.7% and 88.6% of TN and TP in eutrophic water, and accumulate more than 89.5% and 82.0% in plants, respectively. However, the ratio of Cortaderia selloana 'Silver Comet' (C. selloana 'Silver Comet') was significantly lower. 3) The high abilities of these three plants to purify eutrophic water may be directly related to their rapid growth. 4) The comprehensive purification ability of the four plants to eutrophic was significantly different, in the order of C. dactylon 'Tifton 85' > C. selloana 'Pumila' x T. angustifolia > C. selloana 'Silver Comet'. These results indicated that C. dactylon 'Tifton 85' and C. selloana 'Pumila' can be used as alternative plants to T. angustifolia for the purification of eutrophic water. Objective: The intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) of the pancreas is regarded as a precursor to pancreatic cancer; this study aimed to develop and validate a model based on CT characteristics for the non-invasive prediction of the high-risk IPMN of the pancreas. Materials and methods: In this retrospective study, all patients underwent multidetector CT and surgical resection. A prediction model was developed based on a training set consisting of 136 patients with low-risk IPMN and 85 patients with high-risk IPMN between October 2012 and April 2019, and a multivariable logistic regression model was adopted to establish a nomogram. The nomogram performance was determined by its discrimination, calibration, and clinical usefulness. The model was validated in 80 consecutive patients between May 2019 and April 2020, of which 47 and 33 patients had low-risk and high-risk IPMNs, respectively. Results: The multivariable logistic regression model of CT characteristics included the enhancing mural nodule size, the main pancreatic duct (MPD) diameter, the abrupt change in caliber of the MPD with distal pancreatic atrophy, cyst size, thickened enhancing cyst wall, and the presence of lymphadenopathy. The individualized prediction nomogram using these predictors of the high-risk IPMN achieved an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.92 (95% CI 0.88–0.95) in the training set and 0.87 (95% CI 0.79–0.95) in the validation set. The decision curve analysis demonstrated that the nomogram was clinically useful. Conclusion: The CT nomogram, which is a non-invasive predictive tool, can preoperatively predict the risk of malignant IPMN and help identify patients who require a surgical procedure. In this article, we propose a general graph optimization-based framework for localization, which can accommodate different types of measurements with varying measurement time intervals. Special emphasis will be on range-based localization. Range and trajectory smoothness constraints are constructed in a position graph, then the robot trajectory over a sliding window is estimated by a graph-based optimization algorithm. Moreover, convergence analysis of the algorithm is provided, and the effects of the number of iterations and window size in the optimization on the localization accuracy are analyzed. Extensive experiments on quadcopter under a variety of scenarios verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and demonstrate a much higher localization accuracy than the existing range-based localization methods, especially in the altitude direction. Photocatalytic aerobic oxidative coupling of amines has been considered as a clean and promising way to produce imines and has attracted great attention. Herein, we designed and synthesized a novel two‐dimensional porphyrin‐based covalent organic framework (Por‐BC‐COF) which adopts an AA stacking mode with excellent crystallinity, high Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface areas (1200 m2 g−1), wide light absorption range (200–1300 nm) and good stability in a variety of organic solvents. Por‐BC‐COF can be used as a metal‐free heterogeneous photocatalyst for the photocatalytic oxidation of amines to imines under visible light and red light with a high yield (97 %). Herein, the Pt-FeNi@C, Pt-Fe@C and Pt-Ni@C catalysts were developed and proved to be active for the selective hydrogenation of 4-CBA. As a result, the excellent 4-hydroxymethylbenzoic acid (4-HMBA) selectivity (85%) and benzoic acid (BA) selectivity (88%) were achieved on Pt-FeNi@C and Pt/C, respectively. In comparison with the commercial Pd/C catalyst, the Pt-FeNi@C catalyst exhibits excellent activity (97%) and reduces the occurrence of decarbonylation. Moreover, the Pt-FeNi@C catalyst exhibits excellent recyclability: the catalytic activity did not decrease significantly after four reaction cycles. In combination with detailed characterization, the Pt-FeNi@C catalyst has porous graphene core-shell architecture and remarkable electron transfer capacity. Parameters governing forward and reverse pumping of a device mechanism have an important influence on the cutoff and output characteristics of a drift-step-recovery diode (DSRD). Therefore, we analyzed the driving circuit for the DSRD that was used to adjust pumping parameter values. With multiple modules in parallel, a driving method exploiting narrow-pulse pumping is proposed in developing a high-repetition-frequency DSRD pulse generator. In experiments and simulations, one key factor affecting the working stability of this pulse generator operating at repetition frequencies in the megahertz range was found that helped in further optimizing the parameter settings of our 2 kV DSRD driving circuit. Previous studies have found that oxidative stress is the negative reaction of the imbalance between oxidation and antioxidation caused by free radicals, and it is the fuse of aging and many diseases. Scavenging the accumulation of free radicals in the body and inhibiting the production of free radicals are effective ways to reduce the occurrence of oxidative stress. In recent years, studies have found that oxidative stress has other effects on the body, such as anti-tumour. In this paper, the targets related to anti-oxidative stress were introduced, and they were divided into nuclear transcription factors, enzymes, solute carrier family 7, member 11 (SLC7A11) genes and iron death, ion channels, molecular chaperones, small molecules according to their different functions. In addition, we introduce the research status of agonists/inhibitors related to these targets, so as to provide some reference for the follow-up research and clinical application of anti-oxidative stress drugs. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, is characterized by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. The number of affected persons worldwide has increased from 3.7 million in 1990 to 6.8 million in 2017 (1). The disease is more prevalent among non-Hispanic White persons than it is among persons in other racial/ethnic groups (2). As the prevalence increases with age group (2), it is important to understand the disease epidemiology among the older population. CDC analyzed 2018 Medicare data among beneficiaries aged ≥67 years to examine differences by demographic characteristics for both diseases and to assess trends of prevalence from 2001 through 2018 both overall and by race and ethnicity. In 2018, 0.40% and 0.64% of 25.1 million Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries aged ≥67 years had received a diagnosis of either Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Prevalence varied by age, sex, race and ethnicity, urban-rural residency, and state. During 2001-2018, the age-adjusted prevalence of both diseases increased (Crohn's disease annual percentage change [APC] = 3.4%, ulcerative colitis APC = 2.8%). The increase was higher among non-Hispanic Black persons (Crohn's disease APC = 5.0%, ulcerative colitis APC = 3.5%) than it was among non-Hispanic White, Hispanic, and Asian/Pacific Islander (A/PI) persons. Prevalence was consistently highest among non-Hispanic White persons for both diseases and lowest among A/PI persons for Crohn's disease. The study findings of increasing prevalence in all racial/ethnic groups among older adults, especially the higher rate of increase among certain racial/ethnic minority groups, underscore the importance for promoting health equity, guiding efforts to tailor disease management strategies for different populations, and continuing to monitor the temporal trends of the disease. The photocatalytic reduction of CO 2 is a promising strategy for converting this greenhouse gas into valuable products. However, developing highly efficient photocatalysts remains a challenging task. In this study, we investigated the properties of Cu 4 and Cu 5 -doped g-C 3 N 4 photocatalysts using density functional theory. Our findings revealed that Cu clusters can form an Ohmic contact with C 3 N 4 , promoting the separation and transfer of photo-generated electrons and holes, and reducing the reaction barrier. We optimized the adsorption models of gas-phase intermediate molecules and identified the most stable configuration with the lowest adsorption energy. The results indicated that Cu clusters and C 3 N 4 can work synergistically to provide active sites for the adsorption of gas-phase molecules, revealing the mechanism for lowering the activation energy. Cu 4 -doped C 3 N 4 was identified as the most promising photocatalyst through the comparison of the Gibbs free energy change in CO 2 reduction and the HER energy barrier. Further research found that the co-adsorption of *CO on the Cu clusters effectively suppressed the hydrogen evolution reaction, providing insights into the potential mechanism underlying the high selectivity of Cu clusters for the production of C 2 products through CO 2 reduction. Tuberculosis (TB), caused by the infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, especially in children. However, the mechanisms by which MTB infects its cellular host, activates an immune response, and triggers inflammation remain unknown. Mitochondria play important roles in the initiation and activation of the nucleotide- binding oligomerization domain-like receptor with a pyrin domain 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, where mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes (MAMs) may serve as the platform for inflammasome assembly and activation. Additionally, mitofusin 2 (MFN2) is implicated in the formation of MAMs, but, the roles of mitochondria and MFN2 in MTB infection have not been elucidated. Using mircroarry profiling of TB patients and in vitro MTB stimulation of macrophages, we observed an up-regulation of MFN2 in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of active TB patients. Furthermore, we found that MTB stimulation by MTB-specific antigen ESAT-6 or lysate of MTB promoted MFN2 interaction with NLRP3 inflammasomes, resulting in the assembly and activation of the inflammasome and, subsequently, IL-1β secretion. Objectives: To develop and validate a radiomics model for predicting 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pneumonia. Methods: For this retrospective study, a radiomics model was developed on the basis of a training set consisting of 136 patients with COVID-19 pneumonia and 103 patients with other types of viral pneumonia. Radiomics features were extracted from the lung parenchyma window. A radiomics signature was built on the basis of reproducible features, using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator method (LASSO). Multivariable logistic regression model was adopted to establish a radiomics nomogram. Nomogram performance was determined by its discrimination, calibration, and clinical usefulness. The model was validated in 90 consecutive patients, of which 56 patients had COVID-19 pneumonia and 34 patients had other types of viral pneumonia. Results: The radiomics signature, consisting of 3 selected features, was significantly associated with COVID-19 pneumonia (p < 0.05) in both training and validation sets. The multivariable logistic regression model included the radiomics signature and distribution; maximum lesion, hilar, and mediastinal lymph node enlargement; and pleural effusion. The individualized prediction nomogram showed good discrimination in the training sample (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve [AUC], 0.959; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.933–0.985) and in the validation sample (AUC, 0.955; 95% CI, 0.899–0.995) and good calibration. The mixed model achieved better predictive efficacy than the clinical model. Decision curve analysis demonstrated that the radiomics nomogram was clinically useful. Conclusions: The radiomics model derived has good performance for predicting COVID-19 pneumonia and may help in clinical decision-making. Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors and DNA alkylators are effective components of combination chemotherapy. The aim of the present study was to investigate the possible mechanism of their synergism by detecting the effect of HDAC inhibitors on the expression levels of drug transporters that export DNA alkylators. It was demonstrated that the HDAC inhibitor sodium butyrate (NaB) induced the differential expression of multidrug resistant ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters in lung cancer and colorectal cancer cells. Specifically, NaB increased the mRNA expression levels of ABC subfamily B member 1 (ABCB1), ABCC10 and ABCC12, and protein expression levels of multidrug resistance-1 (MDR1), multidrug resistance-associated protein 7 (MRP7) and MRP9. Moreover, NaB decreased the expression levels of ABCC1, ABCC2 and ABCC3 mRNAs, as well as those of MRP1, MRP2 and MRP3 proteins. The molecular mechanism underlying this process was subsequently investigated. NaB decreased the expression of HDAC4, but not HDAC1, HDAC2 or HDAC3. In addition, NaB promoted histone H3 acetylation and methylation at lysine 9, as well as MDR1 acetylation, suggesting that acetylation and methylation may be involved in NaB-mediated ABC transporter expression. Thus, the present results indicated that the synergism of the HDAC inhibitors with the DNA alkylating agents may due to the inhibitory effect of MRPs by HDAC inhibitors. Objectives: To investigate whether meaningful subgroups sharing the CT features of patients with COVID-19 pneumonia could be identified using latent class analysis (LCA) and explore the relationship between the LCA-derived subgroups and clinical types. Methods: This retrospective review included 499 patients with confirmed COVID-19 pneumonia between February 11 and March 8, 2020. Subgroups sharing the CT features were identified using LCA. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were utilized to analyze the association between clinical types and the LCA-derived subgroups. Results: Two radiological subgroups were identified using LCA. There were 228 subjects (45.69%) in class 1 and 271 subjects (54.31%) in class 2. The CT findings of class 1 were smaller pulmonary infection volume, more peripheral distribution, more GGO, more maximum lesion range ≤ 5 cm, a smaller number of lesions, less involvement of lobes, less air bronchogram, less dilatation of vessels, less hilar and mediastinal lymph node enlargement, and less pleural effusion than the CT findings of class 2. Univariate analysis demonstrated that older age, therapy, presence of fever, presence of hypertension, decreased lymphocyte count, and increased CRP levels were significant parameters associated with an increased risk for class 2. Multivariate analyses revealed that the patients with clinically severe type disease had a 1.97-fold risk of class 2 than the patients with clinically moderate-type disease. Conclusions: The demographic and clinical differences between the two radiological subgroups based on the LCA were significantly different. Two radiological subgroups were significantly associated with clinical moderate and severe types. Memristor is an enabling device with non-volatile resistance, low power consumption, high durability, ease of integration, and CMOS compatibility. The stateful logic of memristors can realize the true fusion of computing and storage, and is complete in logic, which is expected to break the limitation of Von Neumann architecture and effectively alleviate the memory wall bottleneck. These excellent properties gain memristors great interest from academia and industry. In light of this, this paper summarizes the research progress of application-oriented computing storage fusion architecture based on stateful logic. Firstly, the implementation principle and improvement method of state logic are analyzed in detail. Secondly, the state logic design based on the memristor crossbar is reviewed, including the parallel implementation of the basic logics, copy operation and comparison operation, and then the design principle and implementation structure of the data storage structure based on the memristors are summarized. The paper then revisits an application-oriented computing storage fusion architecture in detail, and finally summarizes the problems in the research of this direction, and looks forward to the future direction. Objectives: To compare the pulmonary chest CT findings of patients with COVID-19 pneumonia with those with other types of viral pneumonia.Methods: This retrospective review includes 154 patients with RT-PCR-confirmed COVID-19 pneumonia diagnosed between February 11 and 20, 2020, and 100 patients with other types of viral pneumonia diagnosed between April 2011 and December 2020 from two hospitals. High-resolution CT (HRCT) of the chest was performed. Data on location, distribution, attenuation, maximum lesion range, lobe involvement, number of lesions, air bronchogram signs, Hilar and mediastinal lymph node enlargement, and pleural effusion were collected. Associations between imaging characteristics and COVID-19 pneumonia were analyzed with univariate and multivariate logistic regression models.Results: A peripheral distribution was associated with a 13.04-fold risk of COVID-19 pneumonia, compared with a diffuse distribution. A maximum lesion range > 10 cm was associated with a 9.75-fold risk of COVID-19 pneumonia, compared with a maximum lesion range ≤ 5 cm, and the involvement of 5 lobes was associated with an 8.45-fold risk of COVID-19 pneumonia, compared with a maximum lesion range ≤ 2. No pleural effusion was associated with a 3.58-fold risk of COVID-19 pneumonia compared with the presence of pleural effusion. Summary: A theory is proposed to evaluate the loosening earth pressure (vertical earth pressure after excavation) acting on a shallow tunnel in unsaturated ground with an arbitrary groundwater level. The theory is developed based on the limit equilibrium theory, combining soil–water characteristic curves, Mohr–Coulomb failure criteria, and effective stress for unsaturated soils. The proposed theory is applied to predict the vertical distribution of loosening earth pressure in unsaturated ground, which shows a significant difference from that in saturated ground. In unsaturated ground, suction contributes to the increase in effective loosening earth pressure and shear resistance. The remarkable effects of groundwater depth, soil type, and scale of overburden height and trapdoor width on loosening earth pressure are also revealed. Based on the soil–water characteristic curve, the degree of saturation decreases, which causes wet density to decrease and the total and effective loosening earth pressures to have contrary tendencies. Moreover, effective loosening earth pressures vary with soil type as the degree of saturation varies. The total loosening earth pressures are, however, very similar regardless of soil type, because wet density and shear resistance have similar tendencies. Background: Previous studies have shown that compassion increases prosocial lying. However, in the present study, we proposed that compassion toward individuals who are frustrated in striving for minimal living conditions (named here as compassion for other's survival in suffering, abbreviated as COSS) increases prosocial lying, while compassion toward individuals frustrated in seeking development conditions (named here as compassion for other's development in suffering, abbreviated as CODS) has little effect on prosocial lying. Methods: In Studies 1 and 2, we asked participants to evaluate the same text twice before and after experimentally experiencing emotion to test the above hypotheses. In Study 3, we created a situation with a strong moral conflict between prosociality and truth-telling to investigate the potential psychological mechanisms. Results: In Study 1, we show that COSS and CODS both increased prosocial lying. Notably, COSS effect on prosocial lying was significantly higher than CODS effect on prosocial lying. These findings were augmented by results from Study 2, which showed that individuals with low-trait compassion in COSS condition engaged in more prosocial lying than those with high trait compassion in CODS condition. In Study 3, we report that COSS increased prosocial lying significantly, while CODS did not. Conclusion: COSS and CODS are two different types of compassion as shown in Studies 1 and 2; they have different potential psychological mechanisms on increasing prosocial lying (Study 3a and 3b). In this paper, we propose a novel post-bond through-silicon via (TSV) test method for post-bond TSV manufacture test. The proposed method can measure the RGC parameters of TSVs using switched-capacitor circuits and calibration method and detect TSV leakage fault, open fault, high-resistance fault, and delay fault based on the measured RGC parameters. The test process has a high resolution and is robust. The fault-detection effectiveness is evaluated via HSPICE simulations. The results of the TSV capacitance measurement have a relative error within 1%, the TSV resistance measurement results have a relative error within 5%, and the TSV conductance measurement results have a relative error within 8.5%. We also perform an Monte Carlo simulation to prove that even under process variation, the proposed method can obtain a TSV capacitance within an absolute error of ±3 fF, obtain a TSV resistance with a relative error of no more than 18.4%, and obtain a TSV conductance of less than 100 ${\mu \Omega }^{{-1}}$ with a relative error of no more than 13%. Heterotrimeric G proteins are important transducers of receptor signaling, functioning in plants with CLAVATA receptors in controlling shoot meristem size and with pathogen-associated molecular pattern receptors in basal immunity. However, whether specific members of the heterotrimeric complex potentiate cross-talk between development and defense, and the extent to which these functions are conserved across species, have not yet been addressed. Here we used CRISPR/Cas9 to knock out the maize G protein β subunit gene (Gβ) and found that the mutants are lethal, differing from those in Arabidopsis, in which homologous mutants have normal growth and fertility. We show that lethality is caused not by a specific developmental arrest, but by autoimmunity. We used a genetic diversity screen to suppress the lethal Gβ phenotype and also identified a maize Gβ allele with weak autoimmune responses but strong development phenotypes. Using these tools, we show that Gβ controls meristem size in maize, acting epistatically with G protein α subunit gene (Gα), suggesting that Gβ and Gα function in a common signaling complex. Furthermore, we used an association study to show that natural variation in Gβ influences maize kernel row number, an important agronomic trait. Our results demonstrate the dual role of Gβ in immunity and development in a cereal crop and suggest that it functions in cross-talk between these competing signaling networks.
