Non-specific low back pain (NSLBP) in children and adolescents has increased in recent years, and the evidence of the physiotherapy interventions in back care needs to be updated. Our main goal was to quantify the effects of preventive physiotherapy interventions on improving behavior and knowledge related to back care and prevention of NSLBP in children and adolescents. Based on two previous meta-analyses, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, PEDro, Web of Science, LILACS, IBECS, PsycINFO, and IME databases and several journals were searched. Two researchers independently extracted data and assessed the risk of bias in the studies using the RoB2 tool. Data were described according to PRISMA guidelines. A total of 24 studies (28 reports) were included. In the posttest, the behavior variable obtained an overall effect size of d
+ = 1.48 (95%CI: 0.40 to 2.56), and the knowledge variable obtained an effect size of d+ = 1.41 (95%CI: 1.05 to 1.76). Physiotherapy has demonstrated beneficial impacts on behavior and knowledge concerning back care and to prevent NSLBP in children and adolescents. Interventions focusing on postural hygiene and exercise should be preferred, especially those that are shorter in number of weeks, more intense, and incorporate as many intervention hours as possible. - Abstract
The workplace is one of the environments that has most adapted to changes that have occurred in the context of the information and communication age. This study examines the effects of information and communication technologies (ICT) on Spanish workers, specifically, on their work performance, ability to coordinate with colleagues and on the possibility of achieving greater work independence. Two studies by the Spanish Centre for Sociological Research (2014 and 2016) on Digital Social Networks are used to meet this objective. The results indicate a greater probability of improving performance, coordination and work independence when using some ICT. Differences are also found in sociodemographic and socioeconomic status variables, which increase this probability in some cases when users are aware of the potential of a network of strong ties., El trabajo es uno de los ámbitos que más se ha adaptado a los cambios debidos a la era de la información y la comunicación.

After the implementation of Law 15/2005, there are quite a few same sex couples who have married. After 15 years, many of them have dissolved, which means that many others have been involved in child custody allocation processes. This article aims to know how custody modalities are distributed after the divorce of same-sex marriages and what social variables influence them. For this, quantitative methodology is applied, using, specifically, the Statistics on Annulments, Separations and Divorces (INE) and applying descriptive and multivariate analyses. It is concluded that shared custody is an upward modality after the dissolution of these marriages, surpassing since 2016 the exclusive modality. In addition, variables such as the possession of dependent minor or elder children, the existence of the custody law of each Autonomous Community, the age of the spouses and the judgment of the sentence, are variables that influence its modality., Tras la puesta en marcha de la Ley 15/2005 son bastantes las parejas del mismo sexo que han contraído matrimonio.

Background: The frequency of late-onset Huntington's disease (>59 years) is assumed to be low and the clinical course milder. However, previous literature on late-onset disease is scarce and inconclusive. Objective: Our aim is to study clinical characteristics of late-onset compared to common-onset HD patients in a large cohort of HD patients from the Registry database. Methods: Participants with late- and common-onset (30–50 years)were compared for first clinical symptoms, disease progression, CAG repeat size and family history. Participants with a missing CAG repeat size, a repeat size of ≤35 or a UHDRS motor score of ≤5 were excluded. Results: Of 6007 eligible participants, 687 had late-onset (11.4%) and 3216 (53.5%) common-onset HD. Late-onset (n = 577) had significantly more gait and balance problems as first symptom compared to common-onset (n = 2408) (P

COPPADIS Study Group., [Introduction] In a degenerative disorder such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), it is important to establish clinical stages that allow to know the course of the disease. Our aim was to analyze whether a scale combining Hoehn and Yahr’s motor stage (H&Y) and the nonmotor symptoms burden (NMSB) (assessed by the nonmotor symptoms scale (NMSS)) provides information about the disability and the patient’s quality of life (QoL) with regard to a defined clinical stage., [Materials and Methods] Cross-sectional study in which 603 PD patients from the COPPADIS cohort were classified according to H&Y (1, stage I; 2, stage II; 3, stage III; 4, stage IV/V) and NMSB (A: NMSS = 0–20; B: NMSS = 21–40; C: NMSS = 41–70; D: NMSS ≥ 71) in 16 stages (HY.NMSB, from 1A to 4D). QoL was assessed with the PDQ-39SI, PQ-10, and EUROHIS-QOL8 and disability with the Schwab&England ADL (Activities of Daily Living) scale., [Results] A worse QoL and greater disability were observed at a higher stage of H&Y and NMSB (). Combining both (HY.NMSB), patients in stages 1C and 1D and 2C and 2D had significantly worse QoL and/or less autonomy for ADL than those in stages 2A and 2B and 3A and 3B, respectively (; e.g., PDQ-39SI in 1D [n = 15] vs 2A [n = 101]: 28.6 ± 17.1 vs 7.9 ± 5.8; )., [Conclusion] The HY.NMSB scale is simple and reflects the degree of patient involvement more accurately than the H&Y. Patients with a lower H&Y stage may be more affected if they have a greater NMS burden.

This research focuses on the analysis of the variables of a social nature that affect the assignment of custody after divorce from heterosexual marriages in Andalusia. For this, a quantitative methodology is used, using the Statistics of Nullities, Separations and Divorces (INE, 2017) and data from economic indicators such as Gross Domestic Product (2017). Its exploitation allows taking into account a whole set of variables necessary to understand the phenomenon under study. Descriptive and multivariate analyzes are carried out (factorial and correspondence analysis). The main results obtained confirm that variables such as the number of dependent minor children or dependent children of legal age, the judgment failure and the GDP of each province are significantly related to the custody modality finally assigned. Other variables such as the age of the spouses or their nationality do not seem to have an association in the modality that is granted. Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades (FPU)

COPPADIS Study Group., Quality of life (QOL) plays an important role in independent living in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients, being crucial to know what factors impact QoL throughout the course of the disease. Here we identified predictors of QoL impairment in PD patients from a Spanish cohort. PD patients recruited from 35 centers of Spain from the COPPADIS cohort from January 2016, to November 2017, were followed up during 2 years. Health-related QoL (HRQoL) and global QoL (GQoL) were assessed with the 39-item Parkinson’s disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39) and the EUROHIS-QOL 8-item index (EUROHIS-QOL8), respectively, at baseline (V0) and at 24 months ± 1 month (V2). Clinically significant QoL impairment was defined as presenting an increase (PDQ-39SI) or decrement (EUROHIS-QOL8) at V2 ≥ 10% of the score at baseline (V0). A comparison with a control group was conducted for GQoL. GQoL did not change significantly in PD patients (N = 507; p = 0.686) or in the control group (N = 119; p = 0.192). The mean PDQ-39SI was significantly increased in PD patients (62.7 ± 8.5 years old; 58.8% males; N = 500) by 21.6% (from 16.7 ± 13 to 20.3 ± 16.4; p, Mir P. has received honoraria from AbbVie, Abbott, Allergan, Bial, Merz, UCB and Zambon and have received grants from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness [PI16/01575] co-founded by ISCIII (Subdirección General de Evaluación y Fomento de la Investigación) and by Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER), the Consejería de Economía, Innovación, Ciencia y Empleo de la Junta de Andalucía [CVI-02526, CTS-7685], the Consejería de Salud y Bienestar Social de la Junta de Andalucía [PI-0437-2012, PI-0471-2013], the Sociedad Andaluza de Neurología, the Jacques and Gloria Gossweiler Foundation, the Fundación Alicia Koplowitz, the Fundación Mutua Madrileña.

- Abstract

- Abstract
Custody assignment after divorce is an increasingly recurrent area of study. The literature on this topic has tended to consider the dissolution of only heterosexual couples. Therefore, this article examines the influence of certain social variables and detects potential differences or similarities between heterosexual and homosexual couples in Spain. Quantitative methodology was used, along with descriptive and multivariate analyses, with data from the Annulments, Separations and Divorces Statistics (ENSD) of the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE). The main conclusion reached is that shared custody is more commonly assigned in homosexual couples as compared to heterosexual ones. The number of children, the presence of conflict during the divorce proceedings and the specific Spanish autonomous community are variables that are key to understanding the assigned custody modality., La asignación de la custodia es un ámbito de estudio cada vez más recurrente.

- Abstract
[Background] Identifying modifiable risk factors for cognitive impairment in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and estimating their impact on cognitive status may help prevent dementia (PDD) and the design of cognitive trials., [Methods] Using a standard approach for the assessment of global cognition in PD and controlling for the effects of age, education and disease duration, we explored the associations between cognitive status, comorbidities, metabolic variables and lifestyle variables in 533 PD participants from the COPPADIS study., [Results] Among the overall sample, 21% of participants were classified as PD-MCI (n = 114) and 4% as PDD (n = 26). The prevalence of hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia was significantly higher in cognitively impaired patients while no between-group differences were found for smoking, alcohol intake or use of supplementary vitamins. Better cognitive scores were significantly associated with regular physical exercise (p < 0.05) and cognitive stimulation (< 0.01). Cognitive performance was negatively associated with interleukin 2 (Il2) (p < 0.05), Il6 (p < 0.05), iron (p < 0.05), and homocysteine (p < 0.005) levels, and positively associated with vitamin B12 levels (p < 0.005)., [Conclusions] We extend previous findings regarding the positive and negative influence of various comorbidities and lifestyle factors on cognitive status in early PD patients, and reinforce the need to identify and treat potentially modifiable variables with the intention of exploring the possible improvement of the global cognitive status of patients with PD.

- Abstract
[Introduction] In a degenerative disorder such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), it is important to establish clinical stages that allow to know the course of the disease.

Over the last decade and a half, the legislation on marital ruptures has experienced significant changes with the possibility of shared custody being one of the reforms with greater impact. Although these regulations have not ceased to be enacted, there is no study, such as this one, that relates legislation and practice of shared custody in Spain. This article uses the INE Statistics of nullities, separations and divorces, as the main data source analyzing it from its microdata. It is concluded that the existence of a specific law has triggered shared custodies; however, this practice has increased in those Autonomous Communities where it was previously more frequent. Yet, other variables also intervene in the assignment of shared custodies, as confirmed by the cases of the Balearic Islands or the Valencian Community.

- Abstract
Pure spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) are rare in isolation; they commonly appear in association with other neurological disorders. Very rarely, cerebellar ataxia (typically slowly progressive) is associated with isolated cervical dystonia. This combination of disorders gives rise to great diagnostic uncertainty. The literature includes reports of several recent cases of this association, which rule out the mutations causing common SCAs and do not identify a definite cause. It has been suggested that this combination of disorders may be a distinct clinical entity. We present the case of a patient with a syndrome of cervical dystonia and cerebellar ataxia similar to those reported in the literature, in which we detected an as yet undescribed pathogenic mutation that may be the cause of the syndrome, at least in our patient.

- Abstract
The validity of any theory depends on its hypothesis resisting the passage of time and empirical evidence beyond the time they were raised. In this paper an effort is made to contrast the classical theories of labor insertion, trying to validate them again, but with more recent data, for the Spanish context and focusing attention on the young population of our country between 2006 and 2014 (the entire period that goes from the dawn of the economic crisis - before 2007 - until 2014, when the Spanish economy seemed to improve). With data from different sources (theoretical and statistical) we have tried to confirm or not the current approach of such classical theoretical approaches, concluding that, with nuances of the chosen temporal context, many of the hypotheses of these theories are still useful for the analysis, the interpretation and explanation of the labor insertion of young people in Spain.

- Abstract
Studying individuals with extreme phenotypes could facilitate the understanding of disease modification by genetic or environmental factors. Our aim was to identify Huntington's disease (HD) patients with extreme symbol digit modality test (SDMT) scores. We first examined in HD the contribution of cognitive measures of the Unified Huntington's Disease Rating Scale (UHDRS) in predicting clinical endpoints. The language-independent SDMT was used to identify patients performing very well or very poorly relative to their CAG and age cohort. We used data from REGISTRY and COHORT observational study participants (5,603 HD participants with CAG repeats above 39 with 13,868 visits) and of 1,006 healthy volunteers (with 2,241 visits), included to identify natural aging and education effects on cognitive measures. Separate Cox proportional hazards models with CAG, age at study entry, education, sex, UHDRS total motor score and cognitive (SDMT, verbal fluency, Stroop tests) scores as covariates were used to predict clinical endpoints. Quantile regression for longitudinal language-independent SDMT data was used for boundary (2.5% and 97.5% quantiles) estimation and extreme score analyses stratified by age, education, and CAG repeat length. Ten percent of HD participants had an extreme SDMT phenotype for at least one visit. In contrast, only about 3% of participants were consistent SDMT extremes at two or more visits. The thresholds for the one-visit and two-visit extremes can be used to classify existing and new individuals. The identification of these phenotype extremes can be useful in the search for disease modifiers.

GENES ,DYSTONIA ,DNA analysis ,AGE of onset - Abstract
Objective: We aimed to investigate the prevalence of TOR1A, GNAL and THAP1 variants as the cause of dystonia in a cohort of Spanish patients with isolated dystonia and in the literature. Methods: A population of 2028 subjects (including 1053 patients with different subtypes of isolated dystonia and 975 healthy controls) from southern and central Spain was included. The genes TOR1A, THAP1 and GNAL were screened using a combination of high‐resolution melting analysis and direct DNA resequencing. In addition, an extensive literature search to identify original articles (published before 10 August 2020) reporting mutations in TOR1A, THAP1 or GNAL associated to dystonia was performed. Results: Pathogenic or likely pathogenic variants in TOR1A, THAP1 and GNAL were identified in 0.48%, 0.57% and 0.29% of our patients, respectively. Five patients carried the variation p.Glu303del in TOR1A. A very rare variant in GNAL (p.Ser238Asn) was found as a putative risk factor for dystonia. In the literature, variations in TOR1A, THAP1 and GNAL accounted for about 6%, 1.8% and 1.1% of published dystonia patients, respectively. Conclusions: There is a different genetic contribution to dystonia of these three genes in our patients (about 1.3% of patients) and in the literature (about 3.6% of patients), probably due the high proportion of adult‐onset cases in our cohort. As regards age at onset, site of dystonia onset, and final distribution, in our population there is a clear differentiation between DYT‐TOR1A and DYT‐GNAL, with DYT‐THAP1 likely to be an intermediate phenotype. Advanced Parkinson's disease (APD) is characterized by increased functional disability, caused by motor complications, the presence of axial symptoms, and emergent disease- and drug-related non-motor symptoms. One of the advanced therapies available is intrajejunal infusion of levodopa/carbidopa intestinal gel (LCIG); however, patient selection for this treatment is sometimes difficult, particularly because of overlapping indications with other alternatives. In recent years, strong evidence has supported the use of LCIG in treating motor fluctuations associated with APD, and several clinical studies provide emerging evidence for additional benefits of LCIG treatment in certain patients. This article provides an overview of the published literature on the benefits, limitations, and drawbacks of LCIG in relation to PD symptoms, the psychosocial impact of the disease, and the quality of life of patients, with the aim of determining candidates for whom treatment with LCIG would be beneficial. According to current evidence, patients with APD (defined as inability to achieve optimal control of the disease with conventional oral treatment), a relatively well-preserved cognitive-behavioral status, and good family/caregiver would count as suitable candidates for LCIG treatment. Contraindications in the opinion of the authors are severe dementia and active psychosis.

- Abstract
Its importance is in the necessity of employers to count on an adequate human capital to deal with the new demands of the production field, capable to adapt to technological changes and increase the levels of competitiveness. Training has an important role when obtaining high levels of professional insertion and as an instrument which has a major influence on the professionalization and specialization of the workers. The training role in the labour world is well defined from a theoretical point of view, but it must not be forgotten one of the main actors on this process, such as the entrepreneurs. Thus, the main objective of this article lays in the analysis of vocational training within the Spanish companies.
