National audience; Ce papier présente l’environnement D YSIDENT destiné a la conception de systèmes intégrés numériques à base de plate-forme. Nous définissons un problème de conception sur plate-forme comme un triplet (système, nouvelle application, contraintes), ou le système est à la fois un système d’exploitation minimal et un gabarit architectural général dans lequel on peut faire varier par exemple le nombre de processeurs et dans lequel on peut ajouter des coprocesseurs dédiés. Le concepteur modélise en C son application sous la forme d’un réseau de processus de Kahn, en utilisant la bibliothèque de fonctions DPN. La validation fonctionnel a lieu par simple exécution sur la machine hôte. Les caractéristiques temporelles sont obtenues par simulation de la plate-forme exécutant l’application au niveau cycle, grâce à l’outil CASS. En fonction des résultats obtenus, le concepteur sélectionne des ensembles de processus candidats à une implantation matérielle. Les processus sont ensuite synthétisés grâce à l’outil de synthèse de haut niveau UGH, qui non content de produire une description RTL synthétisable fourni également un modèle CASS précis au cycle. Les outils de Disydent (DPN, CASS, UGH) sont intimement liés, ce qui facilite grandement le passage entre les différentes étapes de la conception.

International audience; This paper relates our experience in designing from scratch a multi-threaded kernel for a MIPS R3000 on-chip multiprocessor. We briefly present the target architecture build around an interconnect compliant with the Virtual Chip Interconnect (VCI), and the CPU characteristics. Then we focus on the implementation of part of the POSIX 1003.1b and 1003.1c standards. We conclude this case study by simulation results obtained by cycle true simulation of an MJPEG video decoder application on the multiprocessor, using several scheduler organizations and architectural parameters.

In this paper, we provide insights to distinguish between the impact of the piezoelectric and the magnetostrictive layers on the electromechanical behavior of a magnetoelectric transducer for wireless power transfer. We estimate the main parameters of interest for the nonlinear behavioral description. The variability of these parameters in the presence or absence of load and at several actuation voltages allows us to differentiate where the main power limitation phenomena take place. The theoretical developments are supported by experimental measurements.

National audience; Spatial Data Focusing is implemented using Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum technique with orthogonal Gold code sequences forming the orthogonal transmit signal basis. IQ Spatial Channel Orthogonalisation (SCO) is implemented for an additional degree of freedom to enhance performance over multipath channel environment. With a four element antenna array, it is demonstrated that this scheme attains a beam-width of less than 4 •. The robustness of this schemes' performance is assessed using a 6-ray urban canyon multipath micro-cell channel model simulation. National audience; -Cet article présente une nouvelle méthode permettant d'envoyer, de manière sans fil et focalisée, de la donnée dans l'espace. Ce nouveau schéma, appelé « focalisation spatiale de données » permet d'outrepasser les performances en termes de largeur de faisceau des réseaux d'antennes classiques. En utilisant moins d'antennes que les techniques habituelles de formation de faisceaux, il est possible de ne décoder la donnée qu'en une zone restreinte et prédéfinie. En particulier, en focalisant la donnée plutôt que la puissance du signal émis, un faisceau de 5° est obtenu avec un réseau de 3 antennes.

National audience; -Une modulation multidimensionnelle à étalement de spectre basée sur des codes orthogonaux est utilisée afin de réaliser une Focalisation Spatiale de Données (FSD). La FSD est une nouvelle méthode permettant d'envoyer, de manière sans fil et focalisée des données dans l'espace. Grace à des simulations numériques, ce papier démontre que la FSD permet une sélectivité angulaire accrue sur les données envoyées par rapport à la focalisation de puissance de type formation de faisceaux. En particulier, il est montré que pour un réseau composé de deux antennes, la FSD génère un faisceau 33% plus fin que la focalisation de puissance classique.

The authors' research work has for objective the study of a sensor with planar resonator for applications in the non-destructive control. In this context, two approaches were defined. In a first part, a conception, a modeling, a simulation with commercial software (HFSS, CST), a realization and measurements were treated on Rectangular Patch Resonators (RPR). The proposed theoretical analysis is based on the Moment Method (MoM) via the Galerkin's approach, in which three types of entire domain basis functions are used to expand the patch currents. While, the first two types of basic functions involve a set of sinusoidal cavity modes without edge conditions (sbf-wo-ec) and with edge conditions (sbf-w-ec), and in order to incorporate the edge conditions (cp-ec), the third one consists of Chebyshev polynomials combinations with weighting factors. These last ones as well as the Green Dyadic spectral functions are efficiently implanted with compact Fortran 90 codes. Two EM commercial software HFSS and CST was used to validate the proposed RPR prototypes. The exactness of the obtained results is estimated using four prototypes operating near 6 GHz, taking into account only the fundamental mode resonant frequency. The theoretical model is compared with the simulations and the measurement results. The second approach of the authors' work which is developed in this paper is focused on the characterization of biological materials in vitro using the RPR prototypes proposed as applicator in the non-destructive control and the medical domain to find the abnormalities of these tissues such as: eczema, psoriasis, cancer, etc. The authors' center of interest will be managed towards the dielectric properties of the biological material to extract the relative permittivity and the loss factor on several samples (liver, fat, chicken, butter, foie gras, etc.).

This paper presents about non-invasive planar complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) coupled to microstrip line to measure the dielectric properties of materials and biological tissues. The expectations of health professionals are increasingly turning to less invasive surgical procedures and treatments. In particular, the monitoring of vital parameters (sweat, water in the lungs, etc.) or the evolution of certain pathologies, such as cancer cells, could be observed regularly if suitable devices were developed and could especially replace traditional invasive method. Appropriate miniaturized RF or microwave devices could be an alternative for some medical diagnostic applications. These devices would make it possible to determine the dielectric characteristics of biological tissues, which represent their real pathological states. Thus, it would be possible that dielectric contrast measurements will be able to follow the evolution of pathology, as well as the vital parameters of a patient. The objective of this research is to investigate a prototype biosensor that is suitable for measurements on biological tissues and can be miniaturized to enhance its spatial sensitivity. This work focuses on the design, electromagnetic simulations, and characterization of a new miniaturized biosensor at 2.4 GHz. The ex-vivo experimental results will be shown by measuring the S-parameters of various materials and animal biological tissues. The extraction of the dielectric parameters of these samples is obtained by the measurements of materials.

National audience; Les radars HF (3-30 MHz), à ondes de ciel et de surface, sont influencés par les perturbations ionosphériques, dont les instabilités peuvent être à l’origine de fausses alarmes. Dans cette communication, nous discutons le cas d’un radar hybride qui combine les deux types de propagation. Pour cela, nous allons construire un modèle probabiliste de la propagation dans l’ionosphère en supposant que seule la variation du chemin de phase a un sens du point de vue du traitement radar. Les résultats ont été comparés à des données réelles mesurées par des radars HF situés dans le sud de la France. Ces résultats seront détaillés durant la conférence des JNM 2017.

International audience; Dual formulations established on dual unstructured meshes using the discrete geometric method (DGM) for electrostatic field problems are presented. The formulations are both in terms of scalar potential. When compared with traditional dual formulation in terms of vector potential, the proposed method is more efficient with reduced number of unknowns and alleviated computational complexity. The positive definiteness of the constitutive matrices requires the dual meshes satisfy the Voronoi-Delaunay condition. For the elements not satisfying this condition, an approximate element level diagonalization method is proposed. The complementary bounds of electrical energy are investigated through a micro-electro-mechanicals system comb driver example. A comparison between the DGM and the finite-element method is performed.

Space missions require electronics providing high performances under extreme conditions. The most restrictive ones are cryogenics temperatures and radiations. Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) aims at reaching high performances, low weight and low power consumption. Therefore, simulation models available from industrial foundries are meant to work only from 230K to 430K. In this work, we present a cryogenic electrical model for a 0.35μm/3.3V CMOS technology, based on extracted transistor BSIM3.3 parameters model from room temperature down to Liquid Nitrogen Temperature (LNT). These models are used to design and test a full CMOS reference voltage circuit with only 20ppm/K drift for space instrumentation.

Les chansons de geste en vers du XIVe siècle dépeignent cette faune urbaine en y confrontant les héros et surtout les héroïnes. Au-delà de l’impression de conflit social et de jugement moral suscité par les joies et les peines de ces défavorisés, le comportement chrétien des protagonistes est source d’édification.

The aim of this paper is to model the radio channel behavior in indoor environment for a transport application, and evaluate its impact on a ranging system by means of error estimation. The simulations were then performed in a tunnel scenario at 10 GHz, and the ray tracing model was adopted to obtain the channel response. In the positioning systems based on Time Of Arrival technique, the accuracy strongly depends on the resolution. In this paper, we investigate the relationship between the error of ranging and the system bandwidth. Moreover, an optimal energy threshold was defined, since the simulated receiver is a non-coherent energy detector.

International audience; Serious games have been established as a complementary tool for conventional rehabilitation. This trend proved to be beneficial for both experts and patients since the first are able to assign and monitor virtual reality games for their patients to be executed at home, and the latter are greatly motivated by the challenges of these games rather than the repeatable and boring rehabilitation movements. In a previous work, we proposed a serious game for lower limb rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system using the Microsoft KinectTM camera and a virtual environment. However, this system suffers from inaccurate kinematic measurement due to various external sources. Therefore, this paper explores various kinematic measurement technics to improve the accuracy of our system. Six real time orientation measurement algorithms were assessed and compared, using multiple types of sensors. The results obtained showed a better performance for our system. In fact, this study reinforced a clearer view on a low cost, real time portable system to be implemented at home.

International audience; This paper presents an approach to estimate body movements related to vital activities by means of a 60 GHz. Doppler radar, using robust optimization algorithms. Severaldifferent scenarios are simulated and numerical reconstruction results are reported. The optimization algorithm is shown to be more convenient and less sensible to perturbations than a directspectrum analysis of baseband signal.

International audience; This paper proposes to use the nodal shell element in a finite element multiphysics formulation to simulate magnetoelectric (ME) laminate composites constituted of the thin magnetostrictive layers. The multiphysics model takes into account the non-linearity of the thin layer magnetostrictive material as well as the electrical load effects of the ME laminate composites. A trilayer ME Metglas/PZT/Metglas problem is solved in order to prove the efficiency of the proposed method. This study provides the basis to study the ME devices composed of laminated thin layers.

The aim of this research work is to discuss the use of the diagonal representation (DR) for the construction of the macro-basis functions (MBFs) when applying the Characteristic Basis Function Method (CBFM) to the problem of modeling of scattering from forests. We have applied the CBFM to improve the performances of a previously studied 3D full-wave model in order to solve electrically large forest simulation scenes. This efficient domain decomposition method has shown good performance both in terms of CPU time and memory while achieving a satisfactory level of accuracy compared to that of a conventional Method of Moments (MoM). Therefore, it enables us to solve forest EM problems of upward of 2 million unknowns by consuming only a reasonable amount of CPU time and using just 48 GB of shared memory (Fenni I.; Roussel H.; Darces M.; Mittra R., AP IEEE Trans., 62–8, 4282–4291, 2014).
