One of the critical issues in the assessment of autism spectrum disorder is the behavior exhibited in various developmental contexts, and so the assessment by different informants is important in understanding this disorder. The aim of this study was to analyze parent-teacher agreement on executive functioning assessment in a sample of 43 children with autism spectrum disorder with level 2 severity. For this purpose, scores given by parents and teachers on the BRIEF subscales were compared, and the relationship between these scores was analyzed. The results obtained indicated, first, statistically significant differences between parents and teachers on all the subscales, with teachers reporting greater executive dysfunction in all cases. Second, there were no statistically significant correlations between the scores given by the two informants on almost all the subscales. Overall, these results point to the different perceptions of parents and teachers regarding the executive functioning of children with ASD, which may reflect the relevance or role of these functions in the context where they are assessed. A bibliometric study of the Spanish scientific production in Clinical Psychology published in international journals during a period of 50 years (1971-2020) is carried out. There are 3636 papers published in 130 Clinical Psychology journals, which contained 16135 author signatures, corresponding to a total of 8547 authors. 70.76% of the authors are temporary and only 2.01% have participated in the completion of 10 or more papers. It is observed that the increase in the number of Clinical Psychology studies carried out in Spanish institutions is related to the presence of a greater number of Spanish journals of this discipline in the Web of Science, which confirms the degree of maturity that Clinical Psychology has reached in Spain, which is manifested by the increase in the number of papers published in international journals and the increase in the number of Spanish Clinical Psychology journals in WoS. The containment measures taken because of the COVID-19 pandemic have had consequences on human thought and behaviour. The purpose of this study is to contrast an explanatory model of prosocial behaviours during confinement by analysing different variables involved. The study sample was made up of 946 participants (70.9% female) and had an average age of 35.25 (SD = 13.98). Participants completed a series of online questionnaires. The results show that social support is a predictor of prosocial behaviours and resilience is a mediator in this relationship; living with others is a protective factor for social support; not working during confinement is a predictor for prosocial behaviours; and being female is a predictor of social support and prosocial behaviours. The proposed model explains 33% of the variance in prosocial behaviours and showed an optimal fit (χ2/gl = 1.68; CFI =.990; GFI =.985; RMSEA =.027). The results explain certain underlying mechanisms of prosociality in difficult times and reflect certain characteristics of the people most vulnerable to the consequences of confinement. The objective of this research is to analyse the evolution of scientific collaboration within Spanish psychology through papers signed by an author who belonged to a Spanish institution of psychology between 1970 and 1989. We analysed a total of 2891 papers published in 29 journals of psychology between 1970 and 1989, examining the scientific collaboration through network analysis, using the UCINET program and Netdraw software. The results indicated that there has been an increased number of papers, authors and signatures over the years, as well as an increased scientific collaboration. Between 1985 and 1989, co-authored papers overcame single-author papers. It is shown that the number of authors, as well as of collaboration groups, increased over the years under study. • There is a strong relationship between social media addiction and social anxiety. • Neuroticism is a risk factor for internet addiction. • Emotional dysregulation and internet addiction is mediated by other variables. Perception of the need to be online can lead to the compulsive use of the Internet. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationships between Internet Addiction and Social Media Addiction and some psychological variables that could influence the onset of these disorders (FoMO, Emotional Dysregulation, Personality traits). The sample was composed by 598 Spanish university students aged from 18 to 35 (471 women and 118 men; average age = 21.56; standard deviation = 2.73). Participants responded to an online questionnaire regarding the use of Internet (IAT), the use of social media (BSMAS), Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), Emotional (Dys)regulation (DERS) and personality traits (BFI-15). Correlation analysis showed a positive relationship between FoMO, Social Media Addiction, Internet Addiction, Emotional (Dys)regulation and Neuroticism dimension of Big five. Also, we observed a negative relationship between Internet Addiction and Social Media Addiction, Conscientiousness dimension of Big Five, and gender. The tested mediation model highlighted that the total effect of the DERS on the IAT score was significant as well as its indirect effect via the BSMAS and FoMO scores was positive and significant. A comparative study disaggregated by gender of the scientific production in Educational Psychology of researchers working in Spanish institutions is carried out. A total of 1949 authors have been identified who have published some work in journals indexed in the Psychology Educational category in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) corresponding to the years 2008-2018. The 56.44% of the authors identified were women versus 41.92% of men and a 1.64% of authors could not be identified. The results show an increase in the number of papers published in this discipline and an increase in the number of women working in Educational Psychology throughout the period analyzed. However, as a conclusion it could be indicated that in Spanish Educational Psychology there is still no gender equality, especially when the research elite is considered, since among the largest producers there is a greater number of men than women and it is only when analyzing the groups of small and medium producers, where the number of women exceeds that of men. It is essential to deepen and continue carrying out studies that evaluate the evolution and tendencies in a disaggregated way by gender to undertake the necessary corrective measures that allow achieving gender equality. The present study carries out a bibliometric analysis of Annual Review of Legal Psychology from 1991 to 2019. Data were collected from a database that allows for the analysis of authors, institutions, countries, gender, topics, and impact. The results enable us to observe gender discrepancies among authors, with a a higher frequency of women (50.2%), and the number of signatures (53.7% men). Over the years there is an increase in the number of authors and signatures, of co-authorship, a higher presence of international signatures, representing 23.5% between 2011 and 2019. Three collaboration groups were identified, two from Spain and one from Colombia. Categories of Legal and Forensic Psychology and Psychological Evaluation and Testimony are the most represented in the published studies. The objective of the present study has been to carry out a review of the published works that have studied cannabis/marijuana and tobacco co-use in pregnant women and the possible consequences on their offspring The sources of information the databases used were the Web of Science (WoS), Scielo and Medline. A total of 240 articles were recovered, of which only 16 met the inclusion requirements in this study. The results point to a psychosocial profile of risk in pregnant women with dual consumption cannabis-tobacco and effects of co-use of these substances on fetal development according to different parameters, such as head circumference, weight and length at birth, prematurity, gestational age and defects in the newborn, among others. However, there are no differences in the scores in the Apgar test, hypertension, gestational diabetes or medicalization of the baby delivery. Cannabis-tobacco co-use has an additive effect with respect to some indicators of fetal development. Preventive interventions are required different levels when dealing with cannabis-tobacco co-use in pregnant women, considering this a major public health problem. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The presence and spread of Spanish psychology journals in different international databases (JCR and SJR) is an indicator that determines the maturity and growth of this field, apart from providing an interesting view of the scientific activity for what concerns psychology and its situation within the international context. The objective of the present work is to determine the role of the Association of Psychologists (COP) as editor of psychology high-impact journals. 17 indexed journals were simultaneously selected in the JCR and SJR databases. The results show how 53% of them are edited or coedited by the professional association of psychologists- COP, with salience of that of Madrid (COP Madrid), having both, a greater presence in other databases and a greater number of journals in the first JCR quartile, with differences in the number of records per quartile between those journals edited or co-edited by the COP and those that are not. We could conclude that the state policies and the ranking campaigns of universities, associations and colleges play a key role in internationalization and ranking, since, in the case of Spain, the Association of Psychologists is the main editor and promotor of a true policy focused on these objectives. The Latin American journals of psychology indexed in the Journal of Citation Reports (JCR), are generally edited by professional associations of psychologists, universities and private foundations. This paper analyzes the positioning strategy adopted by the Professional Association of Psychologists of Madrid, regarding the psychological journals in the area in which they edit. The methodological approach taken to explore the topic uses socio-bibliometric techniques gathering numerical data, and then using that data to perform analyses for a well-informed description of what the topic might be. The results reveal that journals, whose editor or co-editor was Professional Association of Psychologists of Madrid, have increased their visibility in recent years, in both, the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR= 8 journals) and that of the Journal of Citation Reports (JCR= 7 journals) with a greater citation count for its articles, and a higher number of views and downloads for the papers published in its journals. The conclusion is, that the positioning strategy adopted by the Professional Association of Psychologists of Madrid was an effective one, involving the unification of certain rules relating to the edition of articles in their journals, the professionalization of editorial management, the electronic publishing with digital publication of journals and using the open access publishing model for scholarly communication that makes research information available to readers at no cost, as well as their integration in the list of international databases. The aim of the following paper is to observe the existing relationship and influence between sports practicing and prosocial behaviour through a systematic literature review published from 1900 to 2018 using databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, Dialnet, Research gate and PubMed, checking a total of 57 studies. Predictors found are sociodemographic, contextual and intervening factors; taking into special consideration the motivational climate of involvement to the task and the style of the coach in support of autonomy in a greater appearance of prosocial behaviour in the sporting context. These results provide tools to create intervention programmes in order to favour prosocial behaviour and to decrease antisocial behaviour; and they show that social context is the most important variable in the direction of moral behaviours and on which more sports psychologists should work, considering these influential variables in the design of sports programmes. This paper analyses all psychology journals included in the different categories of the JCR (SCI and SSCI) and SJR databases during the period 2014-2016 in order to identify the journals that are better positioned in the discipline, and the specialities and countries with the highest number of publications indexed in such databases. Method: The distribution of psychology journals by country, quartile, and subject category was studied in order to determine the total number and position of journals in each country, and to identify the countries with more journals of 'excellence' in psychology in the international scene. Results: The United States and the United Kingdom had the highest number of journals included in the databases, as well as the Netherlands, Germany, France and Spain. Only 11 countries have psychology journals in quartile 1 in JCR, and 14 in SJR databases. Conclusions: As a result of the application of new evaluation criteria in psychology research in Spain, the paper addresses the difficulties and consequences that some of these measures may have for the survival of psychology journals that do not have a position in quartile 1 or 2 in the databases used for the evaluation of professionals' research in this discipline. The disparity of areas being part of Legal Psychology requires a specialized training. By offering an array of masters and degrees and the university’s endorsement, postgraduate training enables quality training in this area. Currently there are 4 official masters and 11 master programs across the Spanish universities that cover most areas of intervention of legal and forensic psychologists. While official masters have a similar number of credits, covering a mandatory attendance and a practice period, master programs vary from 60 to 80 credits, with few options and a mix of regular attendance and distance learning or a totally distance training, while practices are usually voluntary. This study used journals in the Development Psychology category of the WoS service and Scopus database to investigate whether there is an association between developmental psychology and health. We analysed 291 journals in the Developmental Psychology category of the JCR (SSCI) and the SJCR. In total, 21.7% of the WoS Developmental Psychology journals and 16.1% of the Scopus journals are also classified in health-related areas such as Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis Psychology, Pediatrics, and Rehabilitation. The Clinical Psychology category has the highest representation, with 20.3% of journals in the JCR (SSCI) and 10.1% of journals in the SJCR. The results suggest that there is an association between developmental psychology (normative and non-normative) and the field of health. This association should to be taken into consideration when planning the health pathway of psychology degrees that qualify individuals to access Masters degrees in General Health Psychology. The objective of this work is to learn about the most relevant aspects that characterize contemporary Legal Psychology throughout the study of journals included in the WoS between die years 2009 and 2014 related with the area of Psychology. The number of selected publications is 16, mainly from the USA and Great Britain. The results show an increase in the number of works and authors, a greater collaboration and a growth in medium productors. It exists a major presence of men in editorial boards and as authors, outstanding the figures of T. Ward in 2009 and A. Vrij in 2014. The aim of this study was to identify and understand the changes experienced in the scientific community groups of authors working in Spanish institutions and publishing articles in scientific journals included in the "Educational Psychology" in the Web of Science during the period 2004 till 2013 and its membership and permanence in different research groups. A comparative study of groups and their composition over the five-year periods 2004-2008 and 2009-2013 was performed. The results indicated that there is an increase in the number of researchers and research groups working in the field of educational psychology, which is accompanied by an increase in the number of items, although in some cases the increase in the number of members in the group does not correspond to a significant increase in scientific production. It is noticeable the incorporation of a greater number of Spanish journals in the Web of Science, as are those that concentrate most of the scientific production in this discipline and are responsible to influence growth in the foundation data from the Web of Science of the Spanish scientific production in educational psychology. The level and great number of scientific publications is an indicator of the ability, experience and scientific quality of a country, subject area or research group. Nowadays, the importance of a journal is given in many cases by their visibility degree. The international visibility degree is an important indicator of the quality of a magazine that is increasingly considered by most evaluating scientific merits agencies. This study analysis the evolution of Spanish psychology activity, as seen through its scientific production in psychology journals listed in the JCR database of SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index) and SCI (Science Citation Index) during the years 2003-2012. The results indicate a growth in the Spanish scientific production during the period studied and a growth in the number of Spanish and Latin American journals in the JCR data bases (SCI and SSCI), which is an indicator of the effort made by the journal editors of these countries in the formal aspects of their publications and making the necessary changes to improve their quality. It is also observed that the behavior of psychology researchers is different depending on the subject field in which they work. In conclusion, it is outstanding that throughout the study period the most commonly number of magazines that used to publish psychology articles increased. The aim of this descriptive work was to analyse the presence of researchers that work in Spanish institutions and are part of the editorial committees and directive boards of Ibero-American journals of Psychology indexed in the database Journal Citation Reports (JCR 2012). A total of 22 journals were analysed. The results demonstrate that researchers from 39 different countries are part of directing committees and council in these journals. Out of these, 45.2% are Spanish. Spanish researchers are mainly part of psychology journals edited in Spain, Colombia and Argentina. Universities are the institutional sector were 97% of the Spanish researchers work and that are included in the psychology journals committee, being the Universidad de Valencia, Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, those that have a greater number of researchers collaborating with these publications. The present study attempted to determine the prevalence of gender-based violence at the University of Valencia, the victim profile, resources, and beliefs about violence in the university community. The sample consisted of 3404 participants from the research and teaching staff, the administration and services personnel, and students. The results suggest an incidence of gender violence of 20.03%. The victim profile is a women student who is childless, at a perceived slight or moderate risk, who does not go to the police, but who experiences psychological repercussions from gender violence. In total, 86.99% of participants believe that the university has a gender violence service available and that action protocols and prevention programs have been implemented. Between 25% and 40% do not consider controlling behaviour and psychological abuse to constitute domestic violence. Gender violence prevention programs should be implemented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study aims to assess the level of effectiveness of a program for developing self-esteem (PIAM-RS) in young people in social risk. The sample consisted of 110 youngsters aged between 9 and 12, of whom 72 belong to the experimental group and 38 to the control group. All of them were evaluated before and after the intervention. The analysis of variance shows that after the intervention the experimental group increased self-esteem levels more than the control group. The results prove the effectiveness of the program: The variable gender does not have a moderating effect on these results. There are differences in results depending on the culture of origin: In this case the gypsy group shows the lowest improvement level after the intervention, when compared to the non-gipsy group and the immigrant group. This study explores the relationship between criminal thinking and other variables related to criminal cognition. Prosocial behavior, emotional intelligence, and cultural dimensions were chosen to check their predictive capacity for criminal thinking. The research sample comprised 695 young university students and adults, chosen by a non-probabilistic sampling method. The instruments used were the Criminal Sentiments Scales (CSS-M), the Prosociality Scale, the Emotional Intelligence Scale (EQI-C), and the Scale of Cultural Dimensions in its Spanish adaptation. A MANOVA, correlations, and lineal regressions were conducted using SPSS 26 and a SEM was proposed with the results obtained. Criminal thinking's scores showed differences depending on the age of the participants. The SEM indicated that uncertainty avoidance is a good predictor of criminal thinking. Also, prosocial behavior and emotional intelligence are good predictors of uncertainty avoidance. Although future studies are needed, these results could be used to help future research, rehabilitation, or prevention programs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article describes the schooling of minors whose families are included "P.E.R." and "P.E.P." programs (Social Protection Programs of the Valencia Council). It is about 216 minors, aged between 3 and 16, who are the total population. The description is based on the dimensions: scholar learning, scholar adaptation, educational needs and resources. The sources have been their teachers -- tutors of the current school year, whom we have directly interviewed -, and the reports written by the Council Assistants. The results show a deficient scholarship in all the dimensions, in spite of the educational resources offered, as well as significant differences depending on age, with older students having more problems. There are many factors that appear to be directly related to the development of gambling addiction problems, and it is important to understand these relationships from a clinical perspective in order to develop prevention and intervention programs. This research seeks to analyze the relationships these problems have with gambling motives, cognitive distortions and irresponsible gambling behavior, and proposes an explanatory model of gambling addiction. The sample was made up of 258 adults residing in the province of Valencia (59.5% women), with a mean age of 20.95 years (SD = 2.19). A series of questionnaires were applied to measure the variables involved, and bivariate correlations, simple and multiple linear regressions and a structural equation model were analyzed. The results indicated that gambling motives were positively related to cognitive distortions, acting as predictors of these. Additionally, the proposed theoretical model showed goodness of fit on various indices and explained 69% of variance in cognitive distortions, 37% of that in irresponsible gambling and 43% of that in gambling addiction. The main limitation of this research is that the sample belongs to a very specific population, who did not necessarily have gambling problems. The main contributions are uncovering some of the relationships between gambling motives and cognitive distortions and the proposal of a mediating role of irresponsible gambling in the relationship between cognitive distortions and the development of gambling problems. The scientific publications are one of the basic dimensions of the evaluation of the quality of research of teaching and research personnel in Spain. The most used criterion for the evaluation is the publication of papers in journals included in the Web of Science (WoS) or Scopus databases. The objective of this work is to know that psychology journals, which publish works of legal psychology, are currently included in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases, offer an analysis and comparison of the quality indicators of the journals in these databases, in order that researchers working in this discipline know the status of publications in their field of knowledge and provide them with the best choice to publish. This study analyses migration as a process centred on the transnational family as told by its main characters: migrants - parents and children and their families in Colombia. The study is based on the systematic model and methodology of the Grounded Theory approach. The migration process is triggered by a combination of push and pull factors. The pioneers, mainly women, have very diverse profiles. We highlight the difficulty of their first experiences, which they overcome via personal tenacity and external support. Despite the difficulties of the acculturation process, the overall outcome is positive, especially regarding their expectations for their children, who wish to stay in Spain having overcome the initial challenges of adaptation. Children experience their own acculturation process, but there is no conflict between children and parents despite their different acculturation levels. Despite hopes that their integration process Spain would have been better, they are thankful for the support received. Decisions are made and adaptation occurs in the private domain, i.e., the family; however, there is a lack of group awareness or joint social action to improve conditions in the country of origin or to improve integration in the host country. Background: The South Oaks Gambling Screen (SOGS) is one of the most widely used screening instruments for evaluating addiction to gambling. Method: The main objective of this study is to analyze whether the SOGS is a reliable instrument and what characteristics of studies on the SOGS are linked to its reported reliability. Results: A meta-analysis was carried out with 63 studies including 65 independent samples. The mean value of a was .86 (95% CI of .84-.88), with high heterogeneity (I2 = 98.27%). The variables that explain the most heterogeneity were the continent where the study was performed (R2 = .61), application to participants with or without clinical problems (R2 = .58), the form of administration of the questionnaire (R2 = .56), and the standard deviation in the SOGS score (R2 = .13). Conclusions: The results show that the SOGS is a reliable instrument for evaluating gambling addiction. However, the meta-analysis highlights the need to report the reliability values for each empirical study and to provide a set of recommendations for researchers and professionals who use this instrument. Internet addiction (IA) has mostly been investigated with the fear of missing out and difficulties in emotional regulation. The present study examined the link between IA and variables related to problematic social media use (i.e., fear of missing out, social media addiction), together with emotional (dys)regulation and personality traits, providing new insights and an integrated assessment of IA. In total, 397 participants, aged 18–35 years (M = 22.00; SD = 3.83), were administered a set of questionnaires pertaining to IA, problematic social media use, emotional (dys)regulation, and personality traits. Pearson's correlations showed significant associations between IA and the investigated variables, and the tested mediation model highlighted the crucial role played by emotional (dys)regulation in the fear of missing out and problematic use of social networks.
