Abstract: A massless particle beyond the Standard Model is searched for in the two-body decay Σ+→p+invisible using (1.0087±0.0044)×1010 J/ψ events collected at a center-of-mass energy of s=3.097GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. No significant signal is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction B(Σ+→p+invisible) is determined to be 3.2×10−5 at the 90% confidence level. This is the first search for a flavor-changing neutral current process with missing energy in hyperon decays which plays an important role in constraining new physics models.

2. DNA methylation promotes the expression of PPARγ transcript 1 at least in part by preventing NRF1 binding to the promoter P1 of chicken PPARγ gene

Abstract: ABSTRACT: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) is a master regulator of adipogenesis. Our previous study revealed that chicken PPARγ has 3 alternative promoters named as P1, P2, and P3, and the DNA methylation of promoter P3 was negatively associated with PPARγ mRNA expression in abdominal adipose tissue (AAT). However, the methylation status of promoters P1 and P2 is unclear. Here we assessed promoter P1 methylation status in AAT of Northeast Agricultural University broiler lines divergently selected for abdominal fat content (NEAUHLF). The results showed that promoter P1 methylation differed in AAT between the lean and fat lines of NEAUHLF at 7 wk of age (p < 0.05), and AAT expression of PPARγ transcript 1 (PPARγ1), which was derived from the promoter P1, was greatly higher in fat line than in lean line at 2 and 7 wk of age. The results of the correlation analysis showed that P1 methylation was positively correlated with PPARγ1 expression at 7 wk of age (Pearson's r = 0.356, p = 0.0242), suggesting P1 methylation promotes PPARγ1 expression. To explore the underlying molecular mechanism of P1 methylation on PPARγ1 expression, bioinformatics analysis, dual-luciferase reporter assay, pyrosequencing, and electrophoresis mobility shift assay (EMSA) were performed. The results showed that transcription factor NRF1 repressed the promoter activity of the unmethylated P1, but not the methylated P1. Of all the 4 CpGs (CpG48, CpG49, CpG50, and CpG51), which reside within or nearby the NRF1 binding sites of the P1, only CpG49 methylation in AAT was remarkably higher in the fat line than in lean line at 7 wk of age (3.18 to 0.57, p < 0.05), and CpG49 methylation was positively correlated with PPARγ1 expression (Pearson's r = 0.3716, p = 0.0432). Furthermore, EMSA showed that CpG49 methylation reduced the binding of NRF1 to the P1. Taken together, our findings illustrate that P1 methylation promotes PPARγ1 expression at least in part by preventing NRF1 from binding to the promoter P1.

3. Coherent Acoustic Control of Defect Orbital States in the Strong-Driving Limit

Abstract: We use a bulk acoustic wave resonator to demonstrate coherent control of the excited orbital states in a diamond nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center at cryogenic temperature. Coherent quantum control is an essential tool for understanding and mitigating decoherence. Moreover, characterizing and controlling orbital states is a central challenge for quantum networking, where optical coherence is tied to orbital coherence. We study resonant multiphonon orbital Rabi oscillations in both the frequency and time domain, extracting the strength of the orbital-phonon interactions and the coherence of the acoustically driven orbital states. We reach the strong-driving limit, where the physics is dominated by the coupling induced by the acoustic waves. We find agreement between our measurements, quantum master-equation simulations, and a Landau-Zener transition model in the strong-driving limit. Using perturbation theory, we derive an expression for the orbital Rabi frequency versus the acoustic drive strength that is nonperturbative in the drive strength and agrees well with our measurements for all acoustic powers. Motivated by continuous-wave spin-resonance-based decoherence protection schemes, we model the orbital decoherence and find good agreement between our model and our measured few-to-several-nanoseconds orbital decoherence times. We discuss the outlook for orbital decoherence protection.

4. Nano-carbide strengthened as-welded joint for precipitation-hardened austenitic Fe–Mn–Al–C lightweight alloys

Abstract: To date, fusion welding the precipitation-hardened austenitic Fe–Mn–Al–C lightweight alloys still remains an insurmountable challenge. In the present study, the viability of using a Fe-28.3Mn-10.2Al-1.62C (in wt.% hereafter) as a welding filler wire for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) of as-hot-rolled Fe-29.2Mn-8.8Al-1.65C base material (BM) were systematically investigated. It was striking that in the as-welded condition, a high density of nano-sized κ-carbide precipitates was formed by spinodal decomposition within the significantly refined austenite dendrite cells in the fusion zone (FZ). This unique feature is critical to achieve a high weld strength in virtually all fusion welded precipitation-hardened alloys. In the heat-affected zone (HAZ), the strengthening nano-sized κ-carbides originally existed in the BM was also preserved with no sign of dissolution or noticeable coarsening. Consequently, the as-welded joint exhibited a fairly uniform microhardness across the FZ, HAZ and BM. More significantly, the entire as-welded joint is free of any solidification cracking and/or liquation cracking. The as-welded joint also exhibited an excellent combination of yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and ductility.

5. Repetitive hydatidiform mole in the cesarean scar: a case report and literature review

Abstract: Objective: To report a case of Repetitive hydatidiform mole in the cesarean scar. Case Report: a 35-year-old woman presented to our hospital with irregular vaginal bleeding for more than one month. Transvaginal ultrasonography, serum hCG confirmed the cesarean scar pregnancy. The patient underwent a bilateral uterine artery embolization and a suction evacuation. The postoperative histologic examination of the tissue revealed a hydatidiform mole. Molar pregnancy in the cesarean scar is tough to differentiate from a normal cesarean scar pregnancy with serum hCG or sonogram. It was necessary to perform a histological examination of the post operative specimen for the cesarean scar pregnancy. Conclusion: A high index of suspicion is needed for early diagnosis and management of cesarean scar molar pregnancy. If we ignore it, it can be challenging to manage and can have potentially catastrophic consequences.

6. Reducing protein content in the diet of growing goats: implications for nitrogen balance, intestinal nutrient digestion and absorption, and rumen microbiota

Abstract: Reducing dietary CP content is an effective approach to reduce animal nitrogen excretion and save protein feed resources. However, it is not clear how reducing dietary CP content affects the nutrient digestion and absorption in the gut of ruminants, therefore it is difficult to accurately determine how much reduction in dietary CP content is appropriate. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of reduced dietary CP content on N balance, intestinal nutrient digestion and absorption, and rumen microbiota in growing goats. To determine N balance, 18 growing wether goats (25.0 ± 0.5 kg) were randomly assigned to one of three diets: 13.0% (control), 11.5% and 10.0% CP. Another 18 growing wether goats (25.0 ± 0.5 kg) were surgically fitted with ruminal, proximate duodenal, and terminal ileal fistulae and were randomly assigned to one of the three diets to investigate intestinal amino acid (AA) absorption and rumen microbiota. The results showed that fecal and urinary N excretion of goats fed diets containing 11.5% and 10.0% CP were lower than those of goats fed the control diet (P < 0.05). When compared with goats fed the control diet, N retention was decreased and apparent N digestibility in the entire gastrointestinal tract was increased in goats fed the 10% CP diet (P < 0.05). When compared with goats fed the control diet, the duodenal flow of lysine, tryptophan and phenylalanine was decreased in goats fed the 11.5% CP diet (P < 0.05) and that of lysine, methionine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, leucine, glutamic acid, tyrosine, essential AAs (EAAs) and total AAs (TAAs) was decreased in goats fed the 10.0% CP diet (P < 0.05). When compared with goats fed the control diet, the apparent absorption of TAAs in the small intestine was increased in goats fed the 11.5% CP diet (P < 0.05) and that of isoleucine, serine, cysteine, EAAs, non-essential AAs, and TAAs in the small intestine was increased in goats fed the 10.0% CP diet (P < 0.05). When compared with goats fed the control diet, the relative richness of Bacteroidetes and Fibrobacteres was increased and that of Proteobacteria and Synergistetes was decreased in the rumen of goats fed a diet with 10.0% CP. In conclusion, reducing dietary CP content reduced N excretion and increased nutrient utilization by improving rumen fermentation, enhancing nutrient digestion and absorption, and altering rumen microbiota in growing goats.

7. Mechanical performance and corrosion behaviour of Zr-based bulk metallic glass produced by selective laser melting

Abstract: Nearly fully dense, glassy Zr52.5Cu17.9Ni14.6Al10Ti5 bulk specimens were fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM) and their behaviour during compressive loading, during wear testing and in a corrosive medium was investigated. Their performance was compared with as-cast material of the same composition. The additively manufactured samples exhibit a yield strength around 1700 MPa combined with a plastic strain of about 0.5% after yielding despite the residual porosity of 1.3%, which is distributed uniformly in the samples. The propagation of shear bands in the bulk metallic glass prepared by SLM was studied. The specific wear rate and the worn surfaces demonstrated that similar wear mechanisms are active in the SLM and the as-cast samples. Hence, manufacturing the glass in layers does not adversely affect the wear properties. The same holds for the corrosion tests, which were carried out in 0.01 M Na2SO4 and 0.1 M NaCl electrolyte. The anodic polarization curves of SLM samples and as-cast samples revealed a similar corrosion behaviour. However, the SLM samples have a slightly reduced susceptibility to pitting corrosion and exhibit an improved surface healing ability, which might be attributed to an improved homogeneity of the additively manufactured glass. Abstract: Porcine parvovirus, porcine pseudorabies virus and porcine circovirus type 2 can cause reproductive failure in pigs, and swine are often simultaneously infected by combinations of the three viruses. We here report the development of a SYBR Green I-based multiplex real time PCR assay for simultaneous detection of porcine parvovirus, porcine pseudorabies virus and porcine circovirus type 2. Three pairs of specific primers were designed for the porcine parvovirus-VP2, porcine pseudorabies virus-gH and porcine circovirus type 2-ORF2 genes. Viral genomes were identified based on their distinctive melting temperatures in singleplex PCR reactions. The melting temperature was 74.5 °C for the 313 bp amplicon of porcine parvovirus-VP2 gene, 87.5 °C for the 355 bp amplicon of porcine pseudorabies virus-gH gene and 80.5 °C for the 171 bp amplicon of the porcine circovirus type 2-ORF2 gene, respectively. The detection limit of the method ranged from 0.01-0.03 TCID50/ml for the three viruses. In addition, porcine parvovirus, porcine pseudorabies virus and porcine circovirus type 2 viral loads were measured in 100 field samples, and the result showed that the concordance between real-time PCR and conventional PCR was 60.42%. The sensitivity and specificity of real-time PCR were 100% and 100%, while those of conventional PCR were 40.83% and 72.22%, respectively.

Abstract: Using a data set of 2.93 fb−1 taken at a center-of-mass energy s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we perform a search for an extra U(1) gauge boson, also denoted as a dark photon. We examine the initial state radiation reactions e+e−→e+e−γISR and e+e−→μ+μ−γISR for this search, where the dark photon would appear as an enhancement in the invariant mass distribution of the leptonic pairs. We observe no obvious enhancement in the mass range between 1.5 and 3.4 GeV/c2 and set a 90% confidence level upper limit on the mixing strength of the dark photon and the Standard Model photon. We obtain a competitive limit in the tested mass range.

Abstract: Using a data set of 2.93 fb−1 taken at a center-of-mass energy of s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the process e+e−→J/ψγ→μ+μ−γ and determine the product of the branching fraction and the electronic width Bμμ⋅Γee=(333.4±2.5stat±4.4sys) eV. Using the earlier-published BESIII result for Bμμ=(5.973±0.007stat±0.037sys)%, we derive the J/ψ electronic width Γee=(5.58±0.05stat±0.08sys) keV.

Abstract: We extract the e+e−→π+π− cross section in the energy range between 600 and 900 MeV, exploiting the method of initial state radiation. A data set with an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb−1 taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider is used. The cross section is measured with a systematic uncertainty of 0.9%. We extract the pion form factor |Fπ|2 as well as the contribution of the measured cross section to the leading-order hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to (g−2)μ. We find this value to be aμππ,LO(600–900MeV)=(368.2±2.5stat±3.3sys)⋅10−10, which is between the corresponding values using the BaBar or KLOE data.

Abstract: By analyzing a data set of 2.92 fb−1 of e+e− collision data taken at s=3.773 GeV and 106.41×106 ψ(3686) decays taken at s=3.686 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the branching fraction and the partial decay width for ψ(3770)→γχc0 to be B(ψ(3770)→γχc0)=(6.88±0.28±0.67)×10−3 and Γ[ψ(3770)→γχc0]=(187±8±19) keV, respectively. These are the most precise measurements to date.

Abstract: We study Ds+ decays to final states involving the η′ with a 482 pb−1 data sample collected at s=4.009 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. We measure the branching fractions B(Ds+→η′X)=(8.8±1.8±0.5)% and B(Ds+→η′ρ+)=(5.8±1.4±0.4)% where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. In addition, we estimate an upper limit on the non-resonant branching ratio B(Ds+→η′π+π0)

Abstract: Using the data sets taken at center-of-mass energies above 4 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for the reaction e+e−→γISRX(3872)→γISRπ+π−J/ψ via the Initial State Radiation technique. The production of a resonance with quantum numbers JPC=1++ such as the X(3872) via single photon e+e− annihilation is forbidden, but is allowed by a next-to-leading order box diagram. We do not observe a significant signal of X(3872), and therefore give an upper limit for the electronic width times the branching fraction ΓeeX(3872)B(X(3872)→π+π−J/ψ)

Abstract: We report a measurement of the parameter yCP in D0–D¯0 oscillations performed by taking advantage of quantum coherence between pairs of D0D¯0 mesons produced in e+e− annihilations near threshold. In this work, doubly-tagged D0D¯0 events, where one D decays to a CP eigenstate and the other D decays in a semileptonic mode, are reconstructed using a data sample of 2.92 fb−1 collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of s=3.773 GeV. We obtain yCP=(−2.0±1.3±0.7)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result is compatible with the current world average. 22. Constitutional Politics in Asia

Abstract: The term “constitutional politics” is used far more often than it is defined. Many writers who use the term do not bother defining it, presuming its meaning to be self-evident. Thus, “constitutional politics” is not a term of art and has been used to describe various political or legal phenomena. Broadly speaking, “constitutional politics” may be used to refer to events or developments in which constitutional law interacts with, provides a setting for, or to some extent shapes political processes. In a sense, it deals with that intersection between constitutional law and politics in issues that are neither wholly legal nor political but a mix of both. Plainly, this may manifest when a country drafts its own constitution or undergoes profound changes in its constitutional arrangement. It also arises if political questions are contested in the courts, or where the judiciary takes on a particularly active role in determining constitutional questions of the day, or where a particularly contested constitutional change or amendment takes place. The nature of constitutional law and constitutional adjudication is such that it is impossible to make a clear distinction between law and politics when discussing constitutional law. Key political actions, decisions, and bargains are often enshrined in constitutions and contestations as to their meanings and ambit, lending a heavy air of politics to judicial decision-making. Whether an issue is one that falls within the realm of “constitutional politics” depends on the context in which it arises. Take for example the appointment of judges. In many jurisdictions, this is an uncontroversial matter. However, in some other jurisdictions where the court is highly politicized and where the elected representatives hold power by a tenuous thread, such appointments invariably involve constitutional politics. Asia is the world’s largest continent both in terms of land mass and population. In this bibliography, we will attempt to examine and recommend the relevant literature pertaining primarily to the regions broadly described as Northeast Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Jurisdictions surveyed include: China, Japan, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, Timor Leste, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. We are fortunate that in recent decades, academia and academic publishers have taken a keen interest in constitutional law and politics in Asian countries, as demonstrated by the publication of several series of books such as Routledge Law in Asia (Routledge), Constitutionalism in Asia (Hart Publishing), Comparative Constitutional Law and Policy (Cambridge University Press), and Constitutional Systems of the World (Hart Publishing). It is possible to discuss constitutional politics in Asia in several ways. One possibility is to take a geographical country-by-country or region-by-region approach. Another is to do so on the basis of constitutional regime types such as democracies, socialist states, monarchies, and hybrid regimes. A further way is by grouping countries according to legal traditions. Having considered these possibilities, we felt it most logical to organize the bibliography along thematic or topical lines. This will make it easier for readers to use the bibliography and head straight for the topics that most interest them. We begin by looking at some general works dealing with the subject in the first two sections. The subsequent sections of the bibliography are organized thematically.

Abstract: To date, fusion welding the precipitation-hardened austenitic Fe–Mn–Al–C lightweight alloys still remains an insurmountable challenge. In the present study, the viability of using a Fe-28.3Mn-10.2Al-1.62C (in wt.% hereafter) as a welding filler wire for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) of as-hot-rolled Fe-29.2Mn-8.8Al-1.65C base material (BM) were systematically investigated. It was striking that in the as-welded condition, a high density of nano-sized κ-carbide precipitates was formed by spinodal decomposition within the significantly refined austenite dendrite cells in the fusion zone (FZ). This unique feature is critical to achieve a high weld strength in virtually all fusion welded precipitation-hardened alloys. In the heat-affected zone (HAZ), the strengthening nano-sized κ-carbides originally existed in the BM was also preserved with no sign of dissolution or noticeable coarsening. Consequently, the as-welded joint exhibited a fairly uniform microhardness across the FZ, HAZ and BM. More significantly, the entire as-welded joint is free of any solidification cracking and/or liquation cracking. The as-welded joint also exhibited an excellent combination of yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and ductility.

28. Pre-isolation measures and clinical features for 50 pediatric patients with Suspicious COVID-19: Case Series Report

Abstract: Aim: To investigate prevention measures of hospital-acquired infection and clinical features of suspicious COVID-19 patients in the pediatric respiratory ward. Methods: Patients with fever and cough or fever accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea were given pre-isolation measures. The medical records of the patients were collected and analyzed to summarize the pre-isolation measures and patients’ clinical features. Results: A total of 50 pre-isolated children with suspicious COVID-19 hospitalized between January 28 and March 5, 2020 were included in. Pre-isolation measures combined with epidemiological history and pathogen screenings were used to rule out COVID-19 patients. No definite COVID-19 cases were detected, while 2(4%) patients were suspected of having COVID-19. The pathogenic results mainly included Mycoplasma pneumonia (35, 70%).Thirty-five (70%) patients had bronchopneumonia. The pre-isolation patients had the common clinical epidemiological characteristics as patients with fever and cough, vomiting, and diarrhea. Discussion: Pre-isolation measures could prevent suspicious COVID-19 patients from coming in contact with other patients before definite exclusion. Clinical analysis of the patients was helpful for clinical nursing management. Conclusions: Pre-isolation measures combined with epidemiological history and pathogen screening (novel coronavirus nucleic acid and general pathogen) can help to minimize the risk of COVID-19 as a hospital-acquired infection.

Abstract: Background: Euphorbia pulcherrima is highly ornamental value of poinsettia flower, which posses colorful bracts and low temperature resistant leave. Its embryos or adventitious buds were cultivated mainly from stems, petioles and tender buds. The cultivation of seedlings is studied firstly for improving the quality of Poinsettia. Methods: A rapid and reproducible regeneration system of leaves and stems with buds has been established. There is a comparative analysis of the results of tissue culture of different varieties of Poinsettia. Result: The best medium component of hormones about leaf callus of poinsettia inducing cluster buds formation comprise 6-BA 1.0 mg/L, KT 0.4 mg/L, NAA 0.1 mg/L and 2,4-D 0.05 mg/L. Its medium component inducing cluster buds proliferation include 6-BA 1.2 mg/L and NAA 0.05 mg/L. The medium component about stem with bud inducing cluster buds to germinate comprise 6-BA 1.5 mg/L and NAA 0.1 mg/L. Its medium component inducing cluster buds proliferation include 6-BA 1.0 mg/L and NAA 0.05 mg/L. The different hormones and different addition level of Ac have effect on the length of the root and quantity of the first level root and the second level root.

Abstract: We present an assessment of the distance in total variation of \textit{arbitrary} collection of prime factor multiplicities of a random number in $[n]=\{1,\dots, n\}$ and a collection of independent geometric random variables. More precisely, we impose mild conditions on the probability law of the random sample and the aforementioned collection of prime multiplicities, for which a fast decaying bound on the distance towards a tuple of geometric variables holds. Our results generalize and complement those from Kubilius et al. which consider the particular case of uniform samples in $[n]$ and collection of "small primes". As applications, we show a generalized version of the celebrated Erd\"os Kac theorem for not necessarily uniform samples of numbers.

Abstract: The microstructure and bonding strength of plasma sprayed coating are highly dependent on flattening and solidification behavior of in-flight droplets. In the present study, the flattening and solidification behavior of subsonic/supersonic droplets after impacting on a flat substrate was comparatively studied. Results show that a dimensionless Somerfeld number (K) of flattening droplets can be used as the splashing threshold. Due to the extremely rapid spreading and solidification of supersonic-droplet, some large-sized bubbles and grains that usually formed at the bottom of flattened subsonic-droplet were effectively restrained, leading to the improvement of splat/substrate micro-shear strength. The effect of grain size and growth feature on the macro-bonding property was further elaborated. It was found that the simultaneous increase of both velocity and temperature of in-flight droplets was an effective approach for the improvement of bonding strength of as-sprayed coating.

Abstract: 0.5 mm thick AA7075-T6 ultra-thin sheets were joined successfully by high rotational speed friction stir welding using a pinless tool. Friction stir welding was performed under a high rotational speed of 6000 rpm, and the travel speed ranged from 300 mm/min to 1200 mm/min. Zero thickness reduction and delamination phenomenon were observed in the nugget zone when the travel speed was 1200 mm/min. In this condition, the dynamic recrystallization occurred in the lower part of the nugget zone is incomplete. The mechanical properties gradually improved with the increasing in the travel speed. All the tensile specimens fractured along the boundary between the thermo-mechanically affected zone and the nugget zone, and the morphology showed a shear fracture mode. The maximum tensile strength of 482 MPa (equivalent to ∼90% of base metal) was obtained at the travel speed of 1200 mm/min, which presented a ductile fracture mode and a large amount of η phase (MgZn2) precipitates and thick tear ridges were detected on the fracture surfaces.

Abstract: Recent results confirm that a single-atom Pt alloy effectively catalyzes hydrogenation of 1,3-butadiene. Here the C4H6 hydrogenation mechanisms on Pt doping Cu nanoparticles are studied using density functional theory simulations. The simulation results indicate that H2 dissociation on the surfaces of pure Cu is impossible at room temperature. However, the structure of Pt-doped Cu makes hydrogen decomposition process easier. The combination of H2 and C4H6 on the Pt single-atom site is possible since the corresponding reaction barrier values are less than 0.71 eV. The generated 1-C4H8 or 2-C4H8 molecule can not be co-adsorbed with H2 on the Pt single-atom site. Even if H2 is pre-decomposed as hydrogen atoms, they also can not react with C4H8 on the Pt single-atom site at room temperature since the corresponding reaction barrier values are more than 0.90 eV. The co-adsorption of H2 and C4H8 on Pt diatomic sites is probable, and the further saturated hydrogenation to generate C4H10 is promising due to a small reaction barrier (∼0.66 eV).

Abstract: The oxidation behavior of fayalite (Fe2SiO4) in water vapor at 1000?C was investigated. The phase constitution and microstructure of the solid products were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The gas product was continuously measured online by a gas analyzer. The results showed that fayalite was completely decomposed into magnetite (58.8 wt%), hematite (21.6 wt%) and silica (19.6 wt%) at 1000 ?C for 40 min under water vapor condition. Compared with the result obtained in dry air, water vapor could promote fayalite to transform into magnetite by decreasing oxygen fugacity. In addition, the iron oxide product was further enriched via alkaline cleaning in 1 mol/L NaOH. As for the gas product, the hydrogen production capacity reached 24.41 mL/g when exposed to 50 vol% water-50 vol% Ar at 1000?C for 40 min.

Abstract: The book is an in-depth study of the origins and the trajectories of the law governing social policies in Brazil, China, India, and South Africa, four middle-income countries in the global South with a history in social policy making that starts in the 1920s. The policies of these countries affect almost half of the world's population. The book takes the legal framework of the policies as a starting point, but the main interest lies behind the letter of the law: What were the objectives and goals of social policy over the course of the last 100 years? What were the ideas, ideologies, and values pursued by relevant actors? The book comprises four country studies and a comparative study. The country studies concentrate on the political and social context of social policy making in Brazil, China, India, and South Africa as well as on the ideas, ideologies, and values underpinning the constitution, statutory laws, and case law that frame and shape social policy at the national level. The country studies are complemented by a comparative study exploring and describing the commonalities and differences in the ideational approaches to social policies across the four countries, nationally and – in the formative decades – internationally. The comparative study also identifies the characteristics that make Brazilian, Chinese, Indian, and South African social policies distinct from European social policies. With its emphasis on law and drawing on legal scholarship, the book adds a new dimension to the existing accounts on welfare state building, which, so far, are dominated by European narratives and by scholars with a background in sociology, political science, and development studies. Abstract: Iron disilicide based thermoelectric materials Fe0.92Mn0.08Si(Sub x)(1.9 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 2.5) were prepared by rapid solidification (melt spinning) and hot uniaxial pressing at 1248 K with 50 MPa for 30 min, followed by annealing at 1073 K for 20 h. A maximum figure of merit, ZT=0.17, was obtained for Fe0.92Mn0.08Si2.0 at 973 K.

Abstract: The experimental research shows that ceramic top coat (TC) exhibits obvious strength difference (SD) in tension and compression, called SD property. This property significantly affect stress evolution, however, there are few attentions to it. In this paper, the stress evolution in TC layer is investigated by considering SD property. To reflect its property, a return mapping algorithm model for unified strength theory (UST), proposed by us, is applied. The results reveal that SD property leads to the movement of maximum tensile stress from interface to the position above it. It suggests that the crack might not be directly initiated at interface but above it, which has been reported in experimental studies too. The results also reveal that the possibility of above-interface cracking could be increased by varying the material properties, such as elevating compressive-tensile strength ratio and reducing yield strength of TC, and by changing the coating geometries, such as thickening thermally grown oxide (TGO) layer and increasing TC interfacial amplitude-wavelength ratio.

Abstract: This study aims to provide an insight into the effect of CaO-MgO-Al 2 O 3 -SiO 2 (CMAS) on the thermal cycling performance of plasma sprayed yttria partially stabilized zirconia (YSZ) coatings. The microstructural evolution and thermal cycling lives of YSZ coatings with and without CMAS corrosion were comparatively studied by a burner rig corrosion test. The experimental and simulation results showed that the molten CMAS that penetrated into the coatings reduced the porosity and increased the in-plane modulus and stiffness of coatings. During cooling, the large in-plane stress in the CMAS penetrated layer promoted the formation of through-thickness cracks, which significantly accelerated the oxidation of bond coat. Compared to the non-corroded coatings, the large out-of-plane stress that was normal to the YSZ/bond coat in the CMAS corroded coatings promoted the diffusion of Cr, Co and Ni ions, which significantly improved the growth of mixed oxides (such as Cr 2 O 3 , NiO and spinels) and thickened the TGO layer which eventually resulted in the spallation of TBCs.

Abstract: In the present work, one new technique named as supersonic suspension plasma spraying (SSPS) is employed to fabricate high-performance yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) based thermal barrier coatings (TBCs). The typical microstructures, such as vertical-cracked and columnar-structured coatings, were tailored by controlling the key spray parameters. The process-microstructure-property relationship of SPPS-coating was investigated. It was found that the deposition rate was significantly improved by reducing the stand-off distance or increasing the solid content and spray power. The columnar-structured coating exhibited the longest thermal cycling life at 1300 °C, which was approximately 7 times longer than that of coating with wide vertical cracks. Both the simulation and experimental results showed that the failure of SPPS-coating occurred near the top coat/bond coat interface. However, the failure modes were largely dependent on its microstructure. For the coating with wide vertical cracks, the oxidation of bond coat was the main reason that caused its spallation, while the failure of columnar-structured coating was attributed to the accumulation of sintering stress.
