WOS: 000440654100002, In this paper, we report a simple, low-cost, and environmentally friendly electrochemical method to obtain a novel copolymer consisting of l-pyrenyl-2,5-di(2-thienyl)pyrrole and pyrrole on a pencil graphite electrode (PGE). Poly(1-pyrenyl)-2,5-di(2-thienyl)pyrrole-co-pyrrole) that is P(PyrPy-co-Py) film was prepared by one-step potentiostatic codeposition in an ethanol solution containing PyrPy and Py monomers for supercapacitor applications. The electrodeposition of homopolymer and copolymer modified electrodes was carried out on the surface of the PGE via chronocoulometry. For comparison, P(Py)/PGE and P(PyrPy)/PGE were also electrochemically synthesized under the same reaction conditions. The surface morphologies of all the electrode materials were analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscopy. The capacitive properties of the modified PGEs were investigated in 1 M H2SO4 electrolyte solution by cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and galvanostatic charge-discharge methods. Compared with P(Py)/PGE and P(PyrPy)/PGE, the P(PyrPy-co-Py)/PGE composite exhibited the best electrochemical behavior and had the highest specific capacitance value of 397. 18 F g(-1) in 1 M H-2 SO4 at a scan rate of 2 mV s(-1). WOS: 000342552100014, In this paper, a novel thiophene based monomer, 1-(pyren-1-yl)-2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrole, PThP, was synthesized and characterized by H-1 NMR and C-13 NMR spectroscopic methods. The electrochemical behavior and electropolymerization of this novel monomer were performed on pencil graphite electrode (PGE) by cyclic voltammetry. The effect of solvent, dopant, scan number and scan rate on the electropolymerization and properties of the conjugated polymer films were investigated. The capacitive properties of the poly(PThP) films were tested by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The highest specific capacitance value was calculated for the conjugated polymer modified PGE that was obtained in 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate/dichloromethane solution for 30 cycles at 25 mV/s scan rate as 25.45 mF cm(-2). WOS: 000269275900006, In this work, polyaniline (PAni), poly-n-ethylaniline, poly-n-methylaniline and poly-o-anisidine were prepared by chemical polymerization. 1,3 (6 or 7)-napthalenetrisulfonic acid was used for the first time in the literature as a dopant to increase the solubility of the polymers in methanol solution. The structure and properties of these conducting polymers were characterized by FTIR, UV-Vis, elemental analysis and conductivity measurements. Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membranes were modified by PAni and its derivatives and used as cation-exchange membranes. Poly-n-ethylaniline, poly-n-methylaniline and poly-o-anisidine were also used for the first time for this purpose in the literature. Ion-exchange capacity, water uptake and fixed group concentration of the polymer modified PVDF membranes were investigated. The changes in the surface morphologies of non-modified and polymer modified PVDF membrane was investigated by AFM and SEM. The polymer modified membranes were used for the removal of calcium (II) and magnesium (II) ions from water samples with Donnan dialysis (DD) experiments. WOS: 000372609000012, A novel and highly sensitive sensor based on poly[2, 5-di(2-thiophenyl)-1-p-(tolyl) pyrrole] was developed and successfully applied for the electrochemical determination of acetaminophen (AC) in pharmaceutical samples. The voltammetric behaviors of AC on modified pencil graphite electrode were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry in phosphate buffer solution. The voltammetric studies reveal that the polymer modified pencil graphite electrode possesses a remarkable electrocatalytic activity toward acetaminophen compared with the unmodified pencil graphite electrode. A linear dynamic range from 0.025 to 5 mu M and a correlation coefficient of 0.997 with a slope (sensitivity) of 23 mA M-1 were obtained for AC. WOS: 000347318000006, A modified electrode, based on electrodeposition of 5,5'-(oxybis(4,1-phenylene))bis(3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1-phenylformazan (BF) onto pencil graphite (PG) electrode, was investigated for the determination of paracetamol in this paper. BF was synthesized for the first time in this paper and used for the modification of PG electrode. The electrochemical performance of the modified (BF/PG) electrodes was investigated by differential pulse voltammetry at phosphate buffer solution. Several important parameters controlling the performance of the BF/PG was investigated and optimized. Two linear regions were observed. The first region demonstrates linearity over a concentration range of 0.05-1 mu M with a correlation coefficient (R-2) of 0.996. The slope of the second linear region was smaller than the first region's slope with a wide concentration range of 1-100 mu M (R-2 = 0.976). The detection limit of paracetamol is 2.4x10(-9) M (S/N = 3).
