We present a large-scale simultaneous survey of the CO isotopologues (12CO, 13CO, and C18O) J = 1–0 line emission toward the Galactic plane region of l = 106.°65 to 109.°50 and b = −1.°85 to 0.°95 using the Purple Mountain Observatory 13.7 m millimeter-wavelength telescope. Except for the molecular gas in the solar neighborhood, the emission from the molecular gas in this region is concentrated in the velocity range of [−60, −35] km s−1. The gas in the region can be divided into four clouds, with mass in the range of ∼103–104 M ☉. We have identified 25 filaments based on the 13CO data. The median excitation temperature, length, line mass, line width, and virial parameter of the filaments are 10.89 K, 8.49 pc, 146.11 M ⊙ pc−1, 1.01 km s−1, and 3.14, respectively. Among these filaments, eight have virial parameters of less than 2, suggesting that they are gravitationally bound and can lead to star formation. Nineteen H ii regions or candidates have previously been found in the region and we investigate the relationships between these H ii regions/candidates and surrounding molecular clouds in detail. Using morphology similarity and radial velocity consistency between H ii regions/candidates and molecular clouds as evidence for association, and raised temperature and velocity broadening as signatures of interaction, we propose that 12 H ii regions/candidates are associated with their surrounding molecular clouds. In the case of the H ii region of S142, the energy of the H ii region is sufficient to maintain the turbulence in the surrounding molecular gas.

Using the 2m telescope of the Turingia State Observatory at Tauten-berg (TLS), imaging observations in 3 wavebands (Hα, R and I) are performed in the 16 fields in the Aquila Rift region. The observed fields cover about 7 square degrees. Excluding the 3 fields with unqualified data, the photometrical analysis is made for the remaining 13 fields, from which point sources are identified, and finally 7 Hα emission-line star candidates are identified by color-color diagrams. The 7 candidates are located in five fields. Three of them are located near the Galactic plane, while the galactic latitudes of the rest are greater than 4°. The 2 M ASS counterparts of the point sources are identified, and the properties of the 7 Hα emission-line star candidates are further analyzed by using the two-color diagrams. It is found that the near-infrared radiation from these Hα emission-line star candidates has no obvious infrared excess, one of them even falls on the main-sequence branch. This indicates that the Hα-emissive young stellar objects (YSOs) are not always accompanied with the infrared excess, and that the results of the Hα emission line observation and the infrared excess observation are mutually supplemented. If the 7 Hα emission-line star candidates are regarded as YSO candidates, then the number of YSOs in the Aquila Rift region is quite small. The further confirmation of these candidates needs subsequent spectral observations.

The Large sky Area Multi-Object Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) General Survey is a spectroscopic survey that will eventually cover approximately half of the celestial sphere and collect 10 million spectra of stars, galaxies and QSOs. Objects both in the pilot survey and the first year general survey are included in the LAMOST First Data Release (DR1). The pilot survey started in October 2011 and ended in June 2012, and the data have been released to the public as the LAMOST Pilot Data Release in August 2012. The general survey started in September 2012, and completed its first year of operation in June 2013. The LAMOST DR1 includes a total of 1202 plates containing 2,955,336 spectra, of which 1,790,879 spectra have observed signal-to-noise S/N >10. All data with S/N>2 are formally released as LAMOST DR1 under the LAMOST data policy. This data release contains a total of 2,204,696 spectra, of which 1,944,329 are stellar spectra, 12,082 are galaxy spectra and 5,017 are quasars. The DR1 includes not only spectra, but also three stellar catalogues with measured parameters: AFGK-type stars with high quality spectra (1,061,918 entries), A-type stars (100,073 entries), and M stars (121,522 entries). This paper introduces the survey design, the observational and instrumental limitations, data reduction and analysis, and some caveats. We describe the current plans for a spectroscopic survey of millions of stars in the Milky Way galaxy using the Guo Shou Jing Telescope (GSJT, formerly the Large Area Multi-Object Spectroscopic Telescope - LAMOST). The survey will obtain spectra for 2.5 million stars brighter than $r, Comment: 19 pages, 1 figure, accepted for publication in RAA

Fluorinated silicon dioxide films were prepared by liquid phase deposition method using hydrosilicofluoric acid and ammonium hydroxide aqua as sources. The quality of fluorinated silicon dioxide films can be improved by N2 thermal annealing. It is in an attempt to evaluate the feasibility of this material as a candidate for inter-metal dielectrics in ULSIs. The obtained results were the relative dielectric constant of 3.2, and the leakage current density measured at the electric field of 1.5 MV/cm about 1×10-7 A/cm2 at the annealing temperature of 350°C. It has potential for inter-metal dielectric applications.
