Understanding chief executive officers (CEOs) is important because of their vast influence on the strategies and performance of organizations. With the growth of family business research, new insights about family firm CEOs have emerged. However, knowledge about family firm CEOs is dispersed across an array of disciplines that take different perspectives. These differences have led to an inconsistent understanding of family firm CEOs, particularly since they can be family or nonfamily members with varying levels of willingness, ability, and capability to select and implement distinctive strategies. To better understand CEOs in family firms, we reviewed 175 articles published between 1984 and 2021 using upper echelons theory to capture the relationships among CEO characteristics, strategic choices, and firm performance. Our integrative review synthesizes findings from entrepreneurship, management, finance, economics, and other disciplines to provide insights and future research directions on CEO characteristics, strategic choices, and firm performance in family firms. This integrative literature review aims to review, critique, and synthesize the existing literature on appreciative inquiry (AI) in three disciplines where the most significant number of AI-related articles could be found: healthcare, higher education, and management. We sought to identify critical insights, along with similarities and divergencies between the three fields. We identified diverse reasons for adopting AI methods and differing degrees to which researchers adhere to the 4D cycle. The reviewed literature suggests that AI yields positive effects across three levels (individual, group, and organization). Our results indicate that positive impacts from AI can be achieved even when not all steps of the 4D cycle are strictly followed. Furthermore, we discovered numerous innovative AI applications and multiple instances of using modified AI models. Based on our research findings, we proposed a systems model for understanding the AI process and offered implications for both HRD research and practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Framing of the research: The widespread occurrence of greenwashing presents significant challenges for companies in effectively communicating their sustainability efforts. As sustainability communication becomes an increasingly strategic asset for organisations, addressing the issue of greenwashing is crucial to maintaining credibility and trust with stakeholders. This study explores the intricate landscape of greenwashing and its implications for strategic communication in the realm of sustainability transition. Purpose of the paper: Given the complexity and evolving nature of greenwashing phenomena, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive reflection on the role, research directions and managerial implications of a strategic communication approach designed to prevent greenwashing. Methodology: This integrative literature review synthesises the existing research to develop a nuanced understanding of greenwashing and its mitigation through strategic communication. Findings: The study reveals a notable gap in considering strategic communication perspectives within the context of greenwashing. Despite the continual emergence of new forms of greenwashing, research predominantly focuses on the supposed benefits and harms resulting from discrepancies between corporate talk and action. This paper argues that more attention should be devoted to comprehending and controlling the fundamental processes that result in such misalignments. Research limits: This integrative literature review is limited by the inherent constraints of a deductive approach based on existing literature. Practical implications: The research provides several practical recommendations for decision-makers to prevent accusations of greenwashing and mitigate the associated negative consequences. These recommendations include adopting a systemic approach to strategic communication, enhancing transparency, and fostering genuine stakeholder engagement. Originality of the paper: This paper pioneers examining unresolved issues in sustainability communication contributing to entrenched greenwashing practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

An individual competence is one of the main human resources, which enables a person to operate in everyday life. A competence profile, formally captured and described as a structured model, may enable various operations, e.g., a more precise evaluation and closure of a training gap. Such application scenarios supported by information systems are particularly compelling for the era of digitalisation, although research on adequate models capturing competence profiles is still lacking; moreover, no research was revealed synthesizing models of competence, enabling operationalisation possibilities. To fulfil this gap, current research develops a classification of competence models in the form of taxonomy, derived from operational characteristics of competence constructs. Given conceptual fuzziness of the competence term and complex, interdisciplinary scope of the study, the research method follows integrative literature review principles: results of an extensive search conducted in three iterations were critically analysed and further synthesized in the form of taxonomy. This critical analysis was performed based on an overview of twenty-four competence models with a lens of working definitions of competence framework and model concepts. As a result, all three outcomes highlight the power of competence models: (1) the overview summarises models' development methods, operationalisation, and purposes in a specific application domain, while (2) working definitions and (3) the taxonomy aim at overcoming a conceptual ambiguity of competence concepts. In addition, the presented taxonomy may serve as a knowledge base or a decision support tool on competence model selection when it comes to development of a competence management tool. This integrative literature review examined how assistive technology (AT) can help students with visual impairment (VI) in middle primary and secondary schools (aged 11–18 years) engage in learning Mathematics. To collate the relevant findings across studies, an integrative literature review approach was employed and supported by an evidence-based synthesis method. Automatic search phrases were used to find research articles related to the topic in the Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scopus, and Springer Link databases. A total of 628 articles were identified during the initial search of which only 11 were included after putting them under rigorous selection criteria. In addition, a mixed-method appraisal technique (MMAT) was used to examine the methodological quality of the papers that were included. The synthesis result came up with three overarching themes: the availability of AT to support learning mathematics, the usability of AT in mathematics classes, and the role of AT in the inclusion of visually impaired students. The findings based on the results of the 11 academic articles published from 2007 to 2021 revealed that effective engagement of students with VIs in Mathematics instruction is achieved by providing students with VI equitable access to the swiftly evolving AT, addressing issues related to affordability, testing the usability and appropriateness of existing AT and enhancing accessibility of AT for all by breaking the social stigma against students with VI in using AT. It is concluded that easily affordable and accessible assistive technologies with multiple non-visual display formats that enable students with VI to access mathematical symbols, notations, expressions, and tactual contents should be in place to actively engage students with VI in learning mathematics. Ethical conduct of artificial intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly becoming an ever more pressing issue considering the inevitable integration of these technologies into our lives. The literature so far discussed the responsibility domains of AI; this study asks the question of how to instil ethicality into AI technologies. Through a three‐step review of the AI ethics literature, we find that (i) the literature is weak in identifying solutions in ensuring ethical conduct of AI, (ii) the role of professional conduct is underexplored, and (iii) based on the values extracted from studies about AI ethical breaches, we thus propose a conceptual framework that offers professionalism as a solution in ensuring ethical AI. The framework stipulates fairness, nonmaleficence, responsibility, freedom, and trust as values necessary for developers and operators, as well as transparency, privacy, fairness, trust, solidarity, and sustainability as organizational values to ensure sustainability in ethical development and operation of AI. A financing gap is seen as a crucial barrier, hampering the further uptake and upscaling of Nature-based Solutions (NbS). However, it is not always clear what is meant by this, nor is it clear why this barrier exists and persists. The aim of this paper is to generate an enhanced understanding of financial barriers to NbS. This is accomplished through first conceptually and theoretically clarifying the difference between funding and financing and then exploring these through an integrative literature review. We expose three different dimensions of financial barriers in NbS projects, namely the occurrence of multiple types of funding gaps, the occurrence of multiple types of financing gaps, and the particular and complex cost structures of NbS. NbS funding gaps can be broken down into public funding gaps, private funding gaps, and funding gaps specific for lifecycle phases, activities, and cost types. Bridging the funding gap is a necessary (although not sufficient) condition for bridging the finance gap and financing alone cannot solve a funding problem. We further find that these different dimensions of financial barriers can be explained by the misalignment between the characteristics of NbS and the characteristics of our existing institutions. These misalignments occur through different institutional mechanism, including (i) Funders’ preferences, (ii) Revenue generation enablers, (iii) Justification requirements, (iv) Funders’ regimes, (v) Financiers’ preferences and (vi) Finance application processes. All mechanisms influence the occurrence of public and private funding and financing gaps and they influence the cost structure of NbS, in particular transaction costs. The results of this analysis suggest that overcoming NbS funding and financing challenges requires a systemic, multi-level approach as the barriers to project implementation are not all located within a project's sphere of influence or control.

Purpose: The increasing financial burden and complexity of health-care services, exacerbated by factors such as an ageing population and the rise of chronic conditions, necessitate comprehensive and integrated care approaches. While co-created service design has proven valuable in transforming some service industries, its application to the health-care industry is not well understood. This study aims to examine how health consumers are involved in health-care service co-creation. Design/methodology/approach: The study searched 11 electronic databases for peer-reviewed articles published between 2010 and 2019. Additionally, hand searches of reference lists from included studies, Google
© citation searches and searches for grey literature were conducted. The Whittemore and Knafl integrative framework guided the systematic review, and Callahan's 6 Ws framework was used to extract data from the included articles, facilitating comparisons. Findings: The authors identified 21 articles, mainly from the UK, North America and Australia. Despite the need for more research, findings reveal limited and geographically narrow empirical studies with restricted theory and method applications. From these findings, the authors constructed a conceptual model to enhance nuanced understanding. Originality/value: This study offers four contributions. First, it introduces the Health Service Design Transformation Model for Comprehensive Consumer Co-Creation, illustrating health consumers' multifaceted roles in shaping services. Second, consumer vulnerabilities in co-creating services are identified, linked to diverse consumer groups, power dynamics and decision complexity. Third, this study suggests broadening participant inclusion may enhance consumer-centricity, inclusivity and innovation in service design. Finally, the research agenda explores consumer experiences, organizational dynamics, value outcomes and co-creation theory for health-care service advancement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

- Abstract
Creativity has been described as an indissociable component of music education, complex to conceptualize and often overgeneralized. This article provides an overview of existing research on musical creativities in secondary education between 1990 and 2020. A total of 76 articles published in peer-reviewed journals are reviewed according to PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. To present and discuss the results, several dimensions of creativity research have been clustered into five categories: product, person/group, creative process, context, and domain. The 22.37% of the articles focus on the creative process, 14.47% on the context, 13.16% on the person/group perspective, and 1.32% on the product. The 48.68% of the studies focus on the domain perspective, showing an emphasis on specific activities traditionally associated with musical creativity like composing or improvising. Music listening is not present, and various forms of musical creativities are underrepresented. Over these three decades, an increasing orientation on teaching and learning within a sociocultural framework can be observed. In addition, the pedagogical challenges concern an expanded vision of creativity, albeit based on a specific and precisely defined framework. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This integrative review examines arts-informed pedagogy within early childhood education in relation to diversity and inclusion. Research suggests the arts serve as socially just pedagogy, appreciating diversity of student voice and experience whilst facilitating academic ownership and freedom to create inventive ways of knowing and learning. Arts integration in early childhood demonstrates capacity to foster dialogic experiences, collaboration, child development and therapeutic benefits. Yet, what does the research indicate when combining interdisciplinary topics of the arts, early years learning and minoritised children (ethnicity, culture, language, disability)? In keeping with critical theoretical and social constructivist frames the review analysed abstracts among four major databases, unrestricted by date, and grouping the terms 'arts pedagogy/the arts', 'inclusion', 'diversity' and 'early childhood'. Results yielded three key themes: (1) identity and voice, (2) empowerment as knowledge producers and (3) naturalistic learning opportunities. Although highlighting possibilities of the arts to enhance educational inclusion and equity, the review suggests sparsity within the literature and need for research knowledge diversification. We argue reconceptualising arts-informed pedagogy to build communities of learning and belonging among early years minoritised children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The context in which work is distributed, organized, and performed has certainly changed in recent decades. In recent years, shock events such as COVID-19 have contributed to the revision of human resource management (HRM) dynamics, which was previously for "standard work". Overall, hybrid work is not a novelty but has significantly expanded, particularly in the post-COVID-19 period, creating new opportunities in human resource management, especially for female employees, who often manifest the need to reconcile family and work. The new post-pandemic situation has paved the way for gender sustainability processes in organizations by pushing towards a more general organizational sustainability. In fact, in recent decades, sustainability in companies has ceased to be merely environmental and has expanded its boundaries to a "sustainable" business model, whereby human resource management must also meet organizational sustainability criteria. The literature shows that women add value to organizations. Therefore, companies that take on the implementation of management policies with the aim of gender inclusion are committed to social and organizational sustainability, which leads to strategic ideas of competitive advantages. Starting from these considerations, the main purpose of this paper is to compare several strands of research on organizational sustainability and diversity management using an integrative literature review method that offers the opportunity to discover areas where further research is needed. This allows fields of study to be mapped. This paper, derived from a review, provides insights for line managers and upper management regarding pursuing sustainability goals within organizations' boundaries. Limitations and potential future research directions are also discussed, contributing to the ongoing development of research on these subjects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study of career development among unemployed people is vital for effective institutional responses. This integrative review based on Torraco's protocol fills a literature gap by synthesizing research on interventions for this population. Seven keywords, five databases, and six eligibility criteria were defined. Among 324 articles, 36 were reviewed. Findings highlight diverse counseling modalities, emphasizing group interventions and remote delivery. Tailored approaches, including length, frequency, and social‐emotional and career dimensions, are crucial. Practical recommendations emphasize comprehensive, psychological support, goal‐oriented counseling, and postintervention assistance. These insights underscore vocational psychology's importance in addressing unemployment, impacting government policies, career services, and psychologists. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This work aims at identifying and analyzing the entanglements between mobilities, ethnography and tourism, based on an integrative literature review. It seeks, in particular, the use of ethnographic methodologies applied in the field of mobilities oriented to the study of tourism - and what they present as relevant for the construction of more elaborate understandings about tourist mobilities as a specific category of analysis. Such intersections are instigating due to the originality of the framing of this work, the growth of studies of tourist mobilities that have ethnographic basis and the lack of clarity regarding the expressions used on it. From the survey and analysis of articles in an international repository, aspects of bodily, imaginative, virtual and communicational mobility were observed, at different levels and approaches. As a proposal for future studies, we suggest greater attention to the mobility of the ethnographers in contexts and discussions that cover the practices and knowledge of tourism, being understood as one of the searchable entities of mobile methods. In addition, it is necessary to consciously build tourism as a field of knowledge together with others, based on interdisciplinary discussions and subjects, not restricted to tourists as the only subjects under analysis. - Abstract
This article addresses the experiences of transgender students in the educational system. In accordance with PRISMA methodological principles, a systematic, integrative review of the literature was conducted. The final analysis included 29 peer-reviewed scientific texts from the Scopus and Web of Science databases, which were evaluated using qualitative thematic analysis. Four main categories describing transgender people's experiences in the educational system were identified, namely (i) inequities and hostility, (ii) cisnormativity of the school system, (iii) consequences of transphobia and strategies for navigating the school space, and (iv) protective factors and visions for the future. The results of the literature review indicate that the educational space is often unsafe for transgender youth, where they experience various forms of hostility and injustice, while transgender issues go unaddressed. Research indicates that minority stress, mental health issues, and barriers to academic success are all consequences of an unsafe school environment. Despite the fact that the negative aspects of transgender individuals' experiences dominate the research, the findings demonstrate the many ways that the education system can create a safe and stimulating school environment for transgender students. The review of the literature is important for the Slovenian context because there are no empirical studies that examine transgender students' experiences in the education system. Research that has examined the everyday lives of LGBT+ individuals generally shows that there are also challenges in the Slovenian education system that are related to those highlighted in the current literature review. In addition, the research included offers ways to create a safe school environment that have not yet been developed in our area. In this way, it represents a potential guide for educational practice and opens opportunities for empirical research in the Slovenian context. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Transportation is vital to life in society; it enables economic, social, and environmental development through connections between areas, cities, and countries, facilitating interactions and integrations. However, transportation is one of the sectors that most impacts sustainability, causing, among other things, emissions of gases, noise, and accidents. Through an integrative bibliographic framework, this study aims to assess the indicators used to evaluate the sustainability of land transportation in various contexts. To this end, relevant papers were selected with intuition to present their main characteristics, and through correlations between the variables analyzed, a framework was built indicating the current situation and future perspectives of the study. In terms of results, some common points were identified among papers, and some categories were pointed out as priorities for a future research agenda, such as the lack of standardization of indicators regarding metrics and nomenclature to emphasize sustainability. A lack of studies covering sustainability as a whole was found, which limits the results of sustainability assessments by only focusing on classic indicators and their deficiencies in relation to social inclusion, political–legal issues, and civil and human rights, as well as the standardization of indicators in other specific sectors. MANAGERIAL accounting ,CORPORATE governance ,LITERATURE reviews ,ACCOUNTANTS ,CORPORATE corruption ,MANAGEMENT accountants - Abstract
Corporate governance receives considerable attention from various stakeholders due to the search for potential agents that cause threats to sound corporate management practices. The fall of Enron and Arthur Anderson was an eye opener toward the journey of long years of corporate scandals and corruption. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, which includes various codes and guidelines, evolved as an immediate solution to the problem. Traditionally, accounting has become an integral part of managing corporate governance as it is central to generating financial information for various stakeholders. However, research attention, so far, centers around public accountants due to their universal legitimacy in performing public account attestation services. Management accountants can also play important roles in strengthening corporate governance by instilling sound management accounting practices in various corporate affairs where governance is under threat. This dimension is grossly ignored in the existing literature, narrowing the role of accounting in a broader spectrum of governance. Applying the integrative literature review method as an epistemological paradigm, this study undertakes a theoretical attempt to highlight the roles that management accountants can play in strengthening the governance of firms from both external and internal perspectives. The incremental contribution of the article is to enlarge the remit of corporate governance by aligning the functionalities of management accountants with the mainstream study of corporate governance. It opens further research agendas for academics, practitioners, regulators, and other stakeholders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In addition to the general forms of stress characteristic of all students, LGBT+ people experience minority stress. The minority stress model represents general stress processes and minority stress processes. It is the minority stress processes that shape the lives of LGBT+ people, as they are based on gender and sexual orientation, that are characterized in this model as distal processes of minority stress. From these, proximal processes develop in response to distal stressors. With the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of this topic, presenting relevant foreign literature on the minority stress of LGBT+ persons in education, and creating the possibility of laying the foundations for empirical research in this area in Slovenia, we identified situations that represent a source of minority stress for LGBT+ persons in the context of the school environment. 57 materials from Scopus, Web of Science and COBISS+ databases were included in the integrative literature review, and 21 studies are presented in this paper, while the rest are mentioned in a separate paper due to the consideration of the related topic of resilience. The selected research addresses the topic of minority stress among LGBT+ individuals and includes young LGBT+ individuals and/or educationally relevant topics. All materials were reviewed with the Nvivo program and processed with qualitative content analysis. Some findings suggest that school spaces can represent a central source of distal (violence, discrimination, microaggressions, prejudice, stereotypes) and proximal (internalized stigma, anticipated rejection, stigma management) minority stressors for LGBT+ individuals. These have a number of negative effects on the lives and health of LGBT+ students, indicating the need for change to reduce minority stress levels and provide LGBT+ individuals with a safe and respectful educational experience.

Up to 26% of individuals residing in care homes are impacted by cancer. This underscores the importance of understanding the holistic needs of care home residents living with cancer to enhance the quality of their care. The primary objective of this integrative literature review was to consolidate the available evidence concerning the comprehensive needs of people living with cancer in care home settings, providing valuable insights into addressing their diverse needs. An integrative literature review was conducted using a systematic approach. Extensive searches were conducted in three databases, complemented by a thorough examination of grey literature and reference lists of relevant papers. The review focused on literature published between 2012 and 2022. The screening process involved two independent reviewers, with a third reviewer resolving any discrepancies. The review identified twenty research papers that met the eligibility criteria. These papers shed light on three primary themes related to the holistic needs of care home residents with cancer: physical, psychological, and end-of-life needs. Physical needs encompassed pain management, symptom control, and nutrition, while psychological needs involved social support, emotional well-being, and mental health care. End-of-life needs addressed end-of-life care and advance care planning. These themes highlight the multifaceted nature of cancer care in care homes and underscore the importance of addressing residents' holistic needs in a comprehensive and integrated manner. Improving care home education about cancer and integrating palliative and hospice services within this setting are vital for addressing the diverse needs of residents with cancer. This study critically reviews intersectional research (IR) published in the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) journals and presents a framework for future work in IR. First, we identified 10 IR approaches from previous literature and classified them into four perspectives: conceptual, category-based, alternative philosophy-based, and alternative analysis-based perspectives. Utilizing the framework, we found that the majority of IR in HRD has (a) drawn on an intra-categorical approach, (b) focused on the intersection of gender and race, (c) centered on the United States context, and (d) depended on qualitative research methodology. We also examined the IR trends in HRD over time and observed that IR has recently incorporated more diverse approaches and identities and has explored some non-US contexts. To advance IR and better understand the complexity of intersectionality at work, future research needs to continue diversifying research approaches, methods, subjects, and contexts. The digitalization of cultural spheres has profoundly impacted intergroup relations and power dynamics. Our understanding of digital anti-Americanism and Orientalism is embryonic. This integrative review provides a comprehensive appraisal of this research focus. Using databases, websites, and publication citations we integrated 36 studies (2001–2021) on anti-Americanism in the Arab Muslim world and neo-Orientalism in US war films and videogames. The findings indicated that digital culture underpins intergroup ambivalence. US digital epistemic power impedes intergroup rapprochement because digital entertainment media disseminate fear and instigate bias. However, research overlooked the correlation between digital Orientalism and anti-Americanism. We recommend further exploration of the influence of war culture on the waxing and waning of intragroup schisms and intergroup conflicts to promote global peace. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This New Zealand study explored the research literature about quiet motor vehicles, like electric and hybrid cars, and the safety of pedestrians with vision impairment when making road-crossing decisions through an integrative literature review. A search of four research databases, two public library databases, and the New Zealand and the United States' Departments of Transport online resources, as well as three relevant journals was conducted using key words. A rapid critical appraisal tool was used to assess whether the 38 found articles were valid and important, provided any answers to the research questions, and met the study's inclusion criteria. A thematic analysis of 25 studies, which were included in this study, was completed to answer the following research questions: (1) What does the current literature say, as a whole, about the potential effects of 'quiet vehicles' on road-crossing procedures for pedestrians with a vision impairment? and (2) what remedies may exist to alleviate these effects, including possible changes to orientation and mobility (O&M) practice? Five emerging themes were found in the research: (1) crossing the road as a pedestrian with a vision impairment with quiet cars; (2) O&M instruction needs to change; (3) environmental access to road crossings; (4) developing and adapting technology and car sounds; and (5) rights of people with a vision impairment, policy, and legislation. The literature also confirmed that road crossings, when quiet vehicles are present, are dangerous for pedestrians with a vision impairment because such pedestrians rely on vehicular sounds for safe crossings. However, the review concluded that further research is needed in order to answer the research questions in this study. There were no studies about road-crossing procedures and quiet cars, and little research about possible remedies and O&M practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Social network sites (SNS) have recently become an active ground for interactions on contested and dissonant heritage, on the heritage of excluded and subaltern groups, and on the heritage of collective traumatic past events. Situated at the intersection between heritage studies, memory studies, Holocaust studies, social media studies and digital heritage studies, a growing body of scholarly literature has been emerging in the past 10 years, addressing online communication practices on SNS. This study, an integrative review of a comprehensive corpus of 80 scholarly works about difficult heritage on SNS, identifies the profile of authors contributing to this emerging area of research, the increasing frequency of publication after 2017, the prevalence of qualitative research methods, the global geographic dispersion of heritage addressed, and the emergence of common themes and concepts derived mostly from the authors 'home' fields of memory studies, heritage studies and (digital) media studies. Aims: To identify the barriers and facilitators to healthcare for people without documentation status. Design: We conducted a systematic integrative literature review following the Whittemore and Knafl methodology. Methods: Literature search was conducted to identify studies addressing barriers or facilitators to healthcare for people without documentation status in the United States between 2012 and 2022. Studies were critiqued for quality, with results analysed thematically using the social‐ecological model. Data Sources: Searches were conducted in PubMed, PAIS, Web of Science, CINAHL and Psych Info in October 2022. Results: The review incorporated 30 studies (19 qualitative and 11 quantitative). People without documentation status encountered numerous healthcare barriers such as intrapersonal (lack of financial resources and health insurance, fear), interpersonal (language and cultural discrepancies, discrimination), community (bureaucratic requirements, anti‐immigrant rhetoric) and policy‐related barriers. Conversely, linguistically and culturally competent care, empathetic and representative staff, health navigators, safety‐net clinics and supportive federal policies emerged as key facilitators. Conclusion: These findings illuminate the complex healthcare disparities experienced by people without documentation status and underscore facilitators enhancing care accessibility. Future research is needed to explore interventions to increase access to care for this population. Impact: This paper provides a comprehensive examination of the complex barriers and facilitators to healthcare for people without documentation status in the United States. The findings support the value of universal healthcare access, a priority of the World Health Organization, and can inform healthcare policies and practices worldwide. Reporting Method: The review was reported following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses framework. Patient or Public Contribution: No patient or public contribution was needed. Trial and Protocol Registration: The study protocol was registered with the PROSPERO database (registration number: CRD42022366289). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Collaborative clinical reasoning (CCR) occurs when two or more healthcare professionals reflect and negotiate an issue regarding patient's situation or care. This represents a crucial learning goal that needs to be achieved during healthcare education. To describe the characteristics of and the pre-conditions for learning collaborative clinical reasoning in healthcare education. An integrative review was conducted. A systematic search was carried out in May 2020 (updated in August 2022) in four databases (CINAHL, Pubmed/Medline, Scopus and Eric/EBSCO). Thirty-three peer-reviewed research articles met the inclusion criteria and were included into a data quality appraisal and analysis. The data was analysed with inductive content analysis. The characteristics of learning collaborative clinical reasoning were described using the following categories: 1) the collaborative clinical reasoning learning method 2) the collaborative clinical reasoning learning environment and 3) the collaborative clinical reasoning learners. The pre-conditions for learning collaborative clinical reasoning were described using the following categories: 1) the learning situation when learning collaborative clinical reasoning, 2) interaction when learning collaborative clinical reasoning and 3) clinical context when learning collaborative clinical reasoning. The learning situation includes the pedagogical preparation before the learning of collaborative clinical reasoning. The interaction consists of facilitation, feedback and peer communication during the learning of collaborative clinical reasoning. The clinical context utilized in the learning of collaborative clinical reasoning needs to be realistic and familiar for the students. The results indicate that interventions enhancing collaboration and clinical reasoning apply a variety of learning methods, however there are certain characteristics of and pre-conditions for learning collaborative clinical reasoning to be considered. • Clinical reasoning (CCR) often occurs in collaboration with several healthcare professionals in complex situations • CCR is crucial in ensuring patient safety and therefore needs to be addressed in healthcare education • Further research on learning interventions enhancing CCR is needed [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
With the ageing workforce and the impending retirement of Baby Boomers, there is an urgent need for human resource development (HRD) professionals to not only retain but also actively engage Generation Y. They will soon become the major segment of the global workforce dominating the 21st century. Notwithstanding, it has been challenging to keep this generational cohort actively engaged and it remains unclear what is driving higher levels of engagement with Gen Y. The purpose of this integrative literature review was to explore various antecedents of employee engagement identified in the literature for this generational cohort. This review spans two decades (2000–2021) of research and presents a conceptual model that highlights antecedents at three employee experience levels across findings from 82 studies. The proposed model could serve as a general blueprint for future research in HRD theory and practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Travel has become a synonym of living memorable and enjoyable experiences. Co-creation centralizes tourists' role in the creation of value that results from the interaction with other destination stakeholders and the physical environment. Within the wider destination experience, the growing interest tourists show regarding the food and wine experience is notorious, due to its distinctive, multisensory and engaging nature. However, conceptual and empirical studies on co-creation of experiences in food and wine contexts are still scarce. To address this gap, this conceptual study presents an integrative literature review of 118 articles focusing on co-creation in tourism experiences, aiming at understanding what conceptual and empirical studies have been developed in the field, and identifying the most representative dimensions of tourism co-creation, both in general tourism experience and in food and wine experiences, in particular. Based on study findings, a critical analysis is presented along with a novel framework and definition of co-creative tourism experiences, with particular relevance to food and wine tourism. Key dimensions of co-creation in food and wine experiences, namely interaction, engagement, participation and personalization, are identified as relevant for promoting involving and immersive experiences. Theoretical and managerial contributions to destination managers and local stakeholders are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Circular Economy (CE) concept is currently seen as a key enabler to counteract the consequences of climate change by decoupling economic growth from natural resource consumption. However, transitioning to a CE from an organisational perspective is complex and paradoxical tensions are likely to arise. Identifying these conflicting and persisting dualities and understanding how organisational actors make sense of and respond to these can play an important role in managing the complexity of the CE and increasing sustainability performance. Still, research in this field is limited and frameworks for systematically identifying tensions are missing. In this study, we, therefore, develop an initial conceptual framework for identifying and clustering paradoxical tensions. Using this, we identify and cluster CE-related tensions through an integrative literature review. We provide a first glance into practice by presenting interim results of an interview study on CE-related paradoxical tensions with European Manufacturing companies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Intercultural communication between physicians and patients is a prominent challenge faced by health sectors. This integrative review aims to explore and summarize the current literature examining the cultural factors impacting the communication experience of patients and physicians in healthcare settings and provide an evidence-based solution. Methods: We used Whittemore and Knafl's (2005) approach to conduct this integrated review of the literature. Primary research studies meeting the search criteria were accessed from Medline/PubMed, Embassy, CINAHL, PsycInfo, ProQuest, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane Review. We included studies published in English from 2008 to 2022. A total of 1731 studies were identified, of which 34 articles were included in this review. Results: The findings revealed a difference in physicians' communicative behaviour when encountering patients from different cultural backgrounds compared to encounters with patients from the same cultural background. When communicating with patients from different cultural backgrounds, physicians were found to be authoritarian, biomedical-focused, and not involve patients in decision-making. Patients' behaviours during consultations and experience and perception of quality of care in intercultural consultations were varied and inconclusive. Often patients were found to exaggerate respect for physicians, feel uncomfortable with the direct communication style of physicians, have a less proactive attitude, demonstrate low health literacy, and feel shy. These behaviours were attributed to language differences, differences in perception of disease, perception of health communication, prejudice, assumptions, training experience of physicians, and time allocated for consultations. Further, ineffective communication in intercultural consultations was found to impact patient satisfaction, medical adherence, continuity of care, physician's job satisfaction, and ability to diagnose correctly. Conclusions: Effective communication plays a significant role in patient and physician satisfaction. Health policymakers must formulate appropriate policies that encourage expatriate physicians to develop intercultural competencies to enhance intercultural communication, improve satisfaction, quality decision-making, correct diagnosis, and enhance public health.

AbstractThe agriculture sector observed the penetration of parametric weather risk financial products, including weather index insurance and weather derivatives, between the late 1990s and the early 2000s. However, the adoption of such products remains low. While the reasons for low adoption are mentioned in the extant literature, there is a lack of a theoretical framework that captures the moderators accelerating and inhibiting pricing structure and willingness to pay for parametric weather risk mitigants in agriculture. Also, the extant literature does not adequately explain the relationships or interdependencies between pricing structure and willingness to pay for parametric weather risk mitigants. This study bridges this gap by performing an integrative literature review. The review integrates the bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review and categorizes the extant literature into five focal areas: (1) weather analytics capability; (2) design, pricing, and testing; (3) users’ criteria for adoption; (4) prototyping; and (5) product efficacy of weather risk mitigation. A conceptual framework evolved from the review classifies the moderators into accelerants and inhibitors of pricing and willingness to pay. The framework hypothesizes that product design, contract specifications such as tick size and strike levels, hedge effectiveness, and instrument adoption have a recursive interaction with the willingness to pay and pricing structure. Future research directions guided by the proposed framework can motivate scholars and practitioners to explore the scope of bundling parametric (index) insurance and weather derivatives as a standalone product to enhance adoption.

This study aimed to identify, analyze and describe how suggestions for future studies of articles that investigated parental stress for this, an Integrative Literature Review (RIL) was used in the CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Medline, PsycInfo and Web of Science. The database of the present review consists of 41 studies that were organized considering two major dimensions: general characteristics and suggestions for future research. Note that the largest number of publications were carried out on the European continent and between the years 2014 and 2019. Suggestions for future research were categorized into: methodological suggestions and suggestions on other variables to investigate. It is observed that, according to the most necessary composition, they were in relation to the size and sample and the performance of studies involving the intervention. Like all other planning projects, they can look to other groups of parents in planning, but they also have possibilities for general actions that aim to promote the stress experienced by this population. This RIL can contribute to new research on parents of designed studies, as it can be carried out from the new suggestions that can contribute to the form of designed studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LITERATURE reviews - Abstract
Family therapy is an intervention that focuses on changing interactions between family members and tries to improve the functioning of the family as a unit consisting of individual family members. Therefore, the challenges of family therapy can exist in various cases, including relationships within the family, mental health of people, financial problems, and issues caused by lifestyle and family order. The aim of the current research is to analyze and summarize the studies that we have done in the field of dealing with various challenges of family therapy. The method of the present research was conducted as an integrated background review method, in this way, the library method and systematic review plan were used. The statistical population of this research was all scientific sources and articles in the following domestic and foreign databases with keywords related to the challenges of family therapy, 86 cases were identified as the statistical population, of which 28 documents were based on the sampling method. They were selected based on the purpose of entry and exit criteria. The search was carried out in Normagz, Mag Iran, Ensani, Jihad University Scientific Center, Science Direct, PubMed and Scopus databases in the period of 1378-1400 (2000-2022) and the keywords included family therapy. family-oriented, Iranian family and challenges. A total of 28 studies that met the necessary criteria were included in the analysis. According to the studied samples, the results were classified and analyzed in four categories: 1. Cultural challenges 2. The challenge of family-therapist identity: an identity beyond from the framework of the treatment room, 3. educational challenges and 4. the challenge of forming a therapeutic alliance. The most noteworthy point from the surveys inside and outside of Iran was mostly in the choice of research topic and method. The focus of research in Iran was on the cultural-religious concerns and mainly by analyzing the content of existing texts. While the subject range and methodology in researches outside Iran were wider and directly in the context of family meetings. It is recommended that researchers conduct similar studies relying on the opinions and direct experiences of experts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Work engagement (WE) is an affective and emotional state resulting from connecting three dimensions: vigour, dedication, and absorption. This study considered articles on work engagement, citing antecedents and consequences described in Brazilian and international research. An integrative literature review was carried out in the Scielo.org and Pepsic databases, using the descriptors "Work engagement" or "Engajamento no Trabalho" or "Compromiso Laboral", with the following inclusion criteria: research papers that presented empirical results published between 2005 and 2020 and available in Portuguese, English or Spanish. At the end of the eligibility process, nineteen (19) articles were analysed. The results highlight the growing interest in the phenomenon and the current nature of the research. Among the most studied audiences are health, education, and management professionals. Integrating scientific production on WE provides an overview of the subject, considering the related phenomena. Interventions that promote WE, including the development of personal resources, diversity of tasks and appropriate working conditions - can, on the one hand, promote well-being, quality of life and health at the workplace and, on the other, bring efficiency and better results for organisations. Introduction: Nurses use physical touch to interact with patients and address their needs. Human touch benefits social development, stress/anxiety reduction, and rapport building. Touch has been a part of nursing care for centuries, however nurses’ perceptions of expressive touch are not easily ascertained from the literature. Literature currently offers one review on the perceptions of various medical professionals regarding touch of all kinds. No reviews specific to the nurses’ perception of expressive touch exist. This integrative review provides a greater understanding of nurses’ perceptions of expressive touch. Methods: Using Cooper’s steps for integrative review, CINAHL, Medline, Academic Search Premier, and Complimentary Index were searched from 2000-2022; using search term expressive touch or caring touch or compassionate touch and nurse/nurses/nursing and perception or perspective. Results: Of 283 articles identified, 22 articles remained for full-text review after duplicate removal and application of inclusion/exclusion criteria. Five topics on nurses’ perceptions of expressive touch were identified: Comfort with touch and job satisfaction, expressive touch as an essential part of nursing practice, expressive touch as a form of compassion and/or communication, the impact of expressive touch on the humanization of patients in the nurses’ perception, and nurse discomfort with expressive touch. Conclusion: This integrative review provides findings that assist in understanding nurses’ perceptions of expressive touch. Further research should examine the impact of gender, education, and experiences on nurses’ perceptions as they use expressive touch in nursing practice.

Governments worldwide are digitizing their social welfare policies and services despite the persistence of significant levels of digital exclusion. Although digitization may simplify processes and offer better services at lower costs, it may also marginalize citizens with limited digital access and skills, imposing administrative burdens on them and undermining their privacy. This research in progress attempts to make sense of the flourishing literature on the digital transformation of welfare policies and services and its implications for vulnerable citizens. An integrative literature review was conducted, adopting a critical-interpretive perspective. The literature analyzed thus far showcases the multiple ways in which supposedly neutral technology might deepen the exclusion of vulnerable citizens and points to the need for a research agenda focused on developing contexts and on the experience of vulnerable people. Abstract The advent and consolidation of the Massive Internet of Things (MIoT) comes with a need for new architectures to process the massive amount of generated information. A new approach, Mist Computing, entails a series of changes compared to previous computing paradigms, such as Cloud and Fog Computing, with regard to extremely low latency, local smart processing, high mobility, and massive deployment of heterogeneous devices. Hence, context awareness use cases will be enabled, which will vigorously promote the implementation of advantageous Internet of Things applications. Mist Computing is expected to reach existing fields, such as Industry 4.0, future 6G networks and Big Data problems, and it may be the answer for advanced applications where interaction with the environment is essential and lots of data are managed. Despite the low degree of maturity, it shows plenty of potential for IoT together with Cloud, Fog, and Edge Computing, but it is required to reach a general agreement about its foundations, scope, and fields of action according to the existing early works. In this paper, (i) an extensive review of proposals focused on Mist Computing is done to determine the application fields and network elements that must be developed for certain objectives, besides, (ii) a comparative assessment between Cloud, Fog, Edge, and Mist is completed and (iii) several research challenges are listed for future work. In addition, Mist Computing is the last piece to benefit from the resources of complete network infrastructures in the Fluid Computing paradigm.

As consumers represent a key actor for the success of businesses implementing socially responsible strategies, companies need to gain further insights on the determinants of responsible behaviors. In this study, we provide a contribution to the ongoing debate on responsible consumers by means of an integrative literature review, which analyzes a set of competing models mainly from social psychology and marketing. Stemming from this preliminary analysis of the existing evidence, we develop a new conceptual model, that is, a framework based on (i) a flexible setting of the boundaries of analysis, (ii) a broader lens taking into account interrelations across behaviors, and (iii) a dynamic approach. The framework, for which an exemplary use is illustrated, represents the basis for advancing a rich agenda for future research. The latter is aimed at overcoming current criticalities in responsible consumer research, and it develops around the need for an integrative, dynamic, and cross‐cultural approach on the one hand, and the elaboration of new perspectives on single antecedents, on the other. This study proposes a framework to facilitate the Circular Economy (CE) implementation cases analysis from the Institutional Theory (IT) perspective. The development of this theoretical framework was based on the levels of operationalisation of the Circular Economy and the types of isomorphic changes. To demonstrate the framework's applicability, we present a matrix classifying 59 case studies into nine quadrants (3 x 3). Subsequently, the papers' contents were discussed, revealing strategies and practices for institutional behavioural change that drive CE implementation at the micro, meso, and macro levels. Therefore, the results of this work contribute not only to academia by introducing a new way of analysing CE case studies but also to managers by discussing implemented or ongoing implementation cases.
