Social media usage and conspicuous online consumption for millennials are widely recognized in consumer research. This study aimed to analyze the effect of social media usage, self-image congruity, and self-esteem in conspicuous online consumption among millennials in Jabodetabek. The method in this study is quantitative, using survey research on all millennials in Jabodetabek as the object of research. Data collection is used by distributing questionnaires. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling, so 202 respondents were obtained for 2 weeks in June 2021. The data testing method was an instrument test with a validity and reliability test using SPSS. The data analysis method used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS software. The analysis results show a significant and positive relationship between social media usage, self-image congruity, self-esteem, and conspicuous online consumption. Self-image congruity and self-esteem are able to mediate between social media usage and conspicuous online consumption. Mid-luxury brand managers are advised to target this consumer group to increase conspicuous online consumption.

Water pollution remains a critical environmental issue in Indonesia, particularly exemplified by the algae bloom phenomenon in Bima Bay. As a potential solution, it is necessary to treat the water with phytoremediation, which involves the use of a combination of various aquatic plants. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of Ipomoea aquatica, Pistia stratiotes, and Eichhornia crassipes, along with Effective Microorganism 4 (EM4) as a bioremediator, in reducing pollutants in Bima Bay. This study adopts a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test control group design. Results show that the initial Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the river water was 539.7 milligrams per liter (mg/L), while the phosphate (PO4) concentration was 0.16 mg/L. Phytoremediation using the Ipomoea aquatica (water spinach), Pistia stratiotes (water lettuce), and Eichhornia crassipes (water hyacinth) plants has demonstrated the effective reduction of river water COD level by 5.3 mg/L to 95.5 mg/L. However, the method proved ineffective in reducing river water PO4 level, with an increase of 0.03 mg/L to 0.32 mg/L. The Kruskal-Wallis test yielded statistically significant results, indicating notable differences in COD and PO4 levels in river water across various measurement periods within each treatment group. The findings indicate that phytoremediation using Ipomoea aquatica, Pistia stratiotes, and Eichhornia crassipes with EM4 as a bioremediator is an effective approach for reducing COD levels in river water. However, this method proved less effective in reducing PO4 levels, which may continue to pose challenges in addressing water pollution in Bima Bay.

In clinical terms, end-stage liver disease is a group of liver diseases that includes advanced liver disease, liver failure, and decompensated cirrhosis. Liver transplantation has been the most effective treatment for cirrhosis. The limited number of available and suitable living liver donors is a significant limitation in liver transplantation. Acute or chronic rejection could be the cause of liver transplant failure. To overcome rejection, usage of the long-term immunosuppressive drug is a standard post-transplant regimen. However, this therapy can increase the risk of severe viral or fungal infection and malignancy. Various attempts were made to address the liver transplant shortage. One of them is liver tissue engineering. This research was conducted with an artificial liver prototype of Stem Cell Hepatic Intuitive Apparatus (SHiNTA) with a perfusion bioreactor, whose manufacturing process is simple in the form of a liver microstructure consisting of differentiated hepatocytes from an hiPSCs from a modification of the Blackford protocol in a liver biologic scaffold. Liver biologic scaffolds were made from pieces of rabbit liver stored in the Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering (SCTE) laboratory, Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia, by decellularization. This study aimed to develop the SHiNTA BALs to sustain the viability of hiPSCderived hepatocytes in the artificial liver prototype. SHiNTA artificial liver prototype with a perfusion bioreactor connected to a perfusion pump with a specific perfusion rate of 2mL/min showed a higher cell count and confluence, with evenly distributed in the extracellular matrix than SHiNTA blood bag with orbital shaker group up to day 7. Furthermore, the SHiNTA artificial liver with perfusion bioreactor showed a positive signal of cell maturation in the scaffold (ASGPR, HNF4-a, and CEBP-a) through immunofluorescence. This paper is one of the limited studies to investigate rebound effects in sectoral electricity consumption and the specific case of New Zealand. New Zealand, like other OECD economies, has aimed for energy efficiency improvements and reduced electricity consumption from 9.2 MWh per capita in 2010 to 8.6 MWh per capita in 2015. However, following a significant decline since 2010, electricity consumption in the main New Zealand sectors is increasing. Energy conservation could play an important role in meeting the growing demand for electricity but rebound effects can affect the effectiveness of conservation policies. We decompose the sectoral electricity prices to capture the asymmetric demand response to electricity price changes and estimate electricity demand elasticity during 1980 and 2015 to estimate the sectoral rebound effects. We find partial rebound effects of 54% and 23% in the industrial and commercial sectors respectively while we find no rebound effect at the aggregate level. The rebound effect is insignificant in the residential sector. These findings lead to policy recommendations for sector specific energy conservation measures and policies. With the ever-increasing number of vehicles on the road, a faster reliable security system for university entry is needed. This paper presents an approach for Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) using deep learning and PP-OCRv3. The proposed approach utilizes a pre-trained object detection model to locate license plates, extracts a single frame of the license plate, performs license plate recognition, applies pre-processing techniques, and employs PP-OCRv3 for text extraction in real time. The system was tested with Malaysian vehicle plates, and its accuracy and speed of detection were evaluated. The results show the system's potential to be easily adapted to different camera systems, angles, and lighting conditions by retraining the deep learning model. The paper also explores various deep learning methods, such as CenterNet, EfficientDet, and Faster R-CNN, and their effectiveness in automated vehicle registration detection. The research methodology involves creating a dataset from Open Images Dataset V4, converting label text into XML files, and utilizing the TensorFlow model trained on the COCO dataset. The paper concludes with the synthetic evaluation of the trained models, comparing their performance based on precision, recall, and F1-score. The Hajj queue in Indonesia, which extends up to 25 years, necessitates clear and effective policies to mitigate this issue. One such policy is encapsulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia No. 29/2015, which amends the earlier Regulation No. 14/2012 on the Implementation of Regular Hajj. This regulation prohibits individuals who have already performed the Hajj pilgrimage from re-registering for a period of 10 years. This research employs the Ushul Fiqh approach. Data were collected by reviewing and analyzing pertinent literature, including documents and regulations of the Minister of Religious Affairs, as well as several ushul fiqh books and other relevant sources. The study aims to examine the restriction as a means to prevent potential unrest in the community, in line with the concept of sadd al-dzari’ah. This restriction is intended to benefit those who have not yet performed Hajj and to safeguard the rights of others to undertake this worship, adhering to the principle of tasharruf al-imam ala al-ra’iyah manuth bi al-maslahah. The implementation of this policy is expected to exchange the efficiency and effectiveness of Hajj pilgrimage management and reduce public unrest. Electricity subsidies in Indonesia remain high and tend to increase. Existing studies generally propose electricity subsidy reform through economic price adjustment; however, this option potentially arises political and social conflicts. The government and the State Electricity Company have also undertaken several measures to decrease electricity supply costs but those measures remain ineffective due to increasing energy prices needed as fuels for power generations. Our study analyses the effectiveness of two alternative grants for LED lamps and rooftop photovoltaic (PV), to reduce electricity subsidies for low-income residential customers with 450 VA and 900 VA electricity capacity limits. The analysis result is that replacing existing lamps with LED lamps for all those customers will cost the government US$ 313.7 million but potentially decrease electricity subsidies to US$ 208.7 million/ year for 15 years. On the other hand, installing the rooftop PV system is ineffective to bring down the electricity subsidies. The investment cost of the on-grid rooftop PV system is between US$ 827.6 and US$ 1,310.3 per house, while the electricity subsidy savings for 20 years are between US$ 724.1 and US$ 744.8.
