As the sharing economy develops rapidly, a comprehensive overview of the situation on the European shared mobility scene is becoming increasingly necessary. This paper analyzes the state of shared mobility in European countries and observes how European countries can be segmented based on the populations' participation in the economy of shared mobility. We observed 12 indicators of shared mobility in 26 countries of the European Union, for which the data were available. We used the K-means algorithm of cluster analysis. The results show that the highest percentage of shared mobility users belongs to the group of educated and young people aged between 16 and 35. In addition, three segments of European countries were obtained using cluster analysis. Cluster analysis reveals apparent differences in the use of shared mobility websites and applications, as well as differences in education and income among segments. Additionally, the results indicate that the geographical position of the country does not affect the placement within the cluster, as the second and the third cluster contain countries from different parts of Europe. The results of our analyses can be helpful in decision-making and allocating marketing and transportation resources to specific target markets, as well as for development of market-entry strategies in specific markets.

Numerous studies have evaluated the publication performance of universities worldwide, but studies examining intra-institutional performance still remain scarce. In this paper, as a case study, we provide an in-depth quantitative-qualitative analysis of University of Belgrade’ (UB) leading institutions performance. The results show that the UB scientific institutes, faculties of sciences and mathematics, together with the Faculty of Medicine and several faculties of technology and engineering sciences exhibit excellent scientific results. The Faculty of Medicine and Institute Vinča lead the way in terms of number of published papers, while Institute of Physics excels when taking into account the quality of journals. Results pointed out that the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, besides the number of papers, has a strong showing in terms of citation metrics. In addition, using a network graph we present collaboration patterns within the UB. This analysis may be a step in the right direction towards a model for evaluating and ranking institutions within a particular university.

Composite indexes have become a valuable asset for stakeholders as they provide ranks of entities and information upon which decisions are made. However, certain questions about their development procedure have been raised recently, especially regarding the weighting process. To tackle the observed issue, in this paper we propose a new multivariate approach for defining weights. Namely, the model based on the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), the Benefit-of-the-Doubt (BoD) model, has been used with significant success in the process of composite index development. On the other hand, the Composite I-distance Indicator (CIDI) methodology stands out as an impartial method for assigning weights to indicators. By combining these two approaches, some of the limitations of the original BoD model could be overcome. As a result, new entity-specific weights which maximize the value of the composite index can be proposed. As a case study, we analysed the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject in the field of statistics and operational research. The obtained results, which are based on the data-driven weights, can provide new insights into the nature of the observed ranking. The approach presented here might provoke further research on the topic of composite index weights and on the university rankings by subject.

Background/Aim. Vitamin D deficiency is a well-established risk factor for bone disease, but emerging data suggest that altered vitamin D homeostasis may play a role in the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), dyslipidemia hypertension, and other cardiovascular diseases (CVD). The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in patients with T2DM with/without CVD, to correlate it with anthropometric and metabolic parameters and to determine the predictors of vitamin D deficiency. Methods. A total of 88 patients with T2DM (49 male/39 female, aged 61.0 ± 0.9 yrs, body mass index (BMI) 29.9 ± 0.4 kg/m2) and 67 patients (44 male/23 female, aged 63.6 ± 1.0 yrs, BMI 29.2 ± 0.5 kg/m2) with T2DM and CVD (myocardial infarction in 57 patients and angina pectoris in 10 patients) were included in this study. These patients were compared with 87 healthy subjects (35 male/52 female, aged 52.8 ± 1.4 yrs, BMI 27.2 ± 0.5 kg/m2). Weight, height, waist circumference and BMI were recorded in all patients. Also, total cholesterol, triglycerides, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and 25-hydroxy-vitamin D [25(OH)D] levels were measured in all. According to 25(OH)D level, all subjects were divided into three categories: severe vitamin D deficiency (≤ 15 ng/mL), vitamin D insufficiency (15-20 ng/mL) and vitamin D sufficiency (20 ng/mL). We correlated vitamin D levels with anthropometric and metabolic status and determined the predictors of vitamin D deficiency. Results. Severe vitamin D deficiency was registered in 16.1% healthy subjects, in 21.6% patients with T2DM and in 26.9% patients with T2DM and CVD. Patients with T2DM who were vitamin D deficient had increased weight, waist circumference, cholesterol and triglyceride levels when compared with patients with T2DM who had sufficient vitamin D level. 25(OH)D levels correlated with BMI and waist circumference in all subjects, but did not correlate with metabolic parameters (lipids, HbA1c). The best predictors of vitamin D level in all subjects were weight, waist circumference and BMI. Conclusion. The high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in patients with T2DM and particularly in patients with T2DM and CVD suggests that supplementation with vitamin D may be beneficial although there is still not sufficient evidence for recommending prescribing vitamin D.

Due to the lack of a significant volume of research on factors that affect employee fluctuation in the quality management profession, the paper is focused on exploring certain individual and organizational factors as possible influencers on quality management professionals' turnover. As a business and employment-oriented social networking service, LinkedIn was used to gain data on education, contacts, company ownership type, workplace type, and fluctuation behavior of 1014 quality management professionals. For statistical analysis, χ2 contingency table, ANOVA with Tukey/Tamhane posthoc, and CHAID Decision Tree Analysis were employed. The results showed that employees' fluctuation depends on the degree of education, career development activities as well as the type of current examinee workplace. There is also an association between the type of company ownership and employee fluctuations. Further, the greater number of LinkedIn contacts was found to be related to more pronounced fluctuation. Since employees' fluctuation significantly influences company performance and competitiveness, the paper could provide valuable insight for managers to understand what could predict employees' fluctuation, which is especially important for knowledge-based contemporary organizations. - Abstract
Although there are many models for ranking higher education institutions, the SCImago Institutions Rankings methodology stands out for its ability to present quantitative and qualitative indicators of scientific output. Besides Total number of published papers, several indicators are concerned with quality dimensions of published papers, such as International collaboration, Scientific leadership or High quality publications . However, official rankings are provided solely on the basis of one indicator: Output (total number of published papers ). This paper presents a statistical I-distance method that integrates all the indicators into one value, which therefore represent a rank and show which of the input indicators is the most important for the process of ranking. Our results clearly showed that Excellence with Leadership occupies the most significant spot.

Overall, the medical devices used in the treatment of wounds could be divided into traditional dressings, modern dressings (with advanced features), skin replacement products and wound healing devices. This paper provides an overview of traditional dressings, their most important characteristics and their common usage. Traditional dressings include cotton wool, gauzes, bandages and wound dressing pads. According to the Regulation on the classification of general medical devices, given traditional dressings are classified into Class I, if used as a mechanical barrier, for compression or for absorption of the fluid from the wound (e.g. cotton wool, gauzes, compresses, bandages and the like), or into Class IIa, if they possess specific characteristics to support the wound healing and have properties that regulate humidity, temperature, levels of oxygen and other gases, pH value, and the wound microenvironment (e.g. paraffin impregnated gauze). The advantages of the traditional dressings reflect in their ability to stop the bleeding, to stabilize the wound and in their low price. The disadvantages are that they usually adhere to the wound, do not maintain the moisture and need an often change.

SUSTAINABLE development , *COMMUNITY development - Abstract
Sustainable Society Index (SSI) is a composite indicator constructed to measure and describe societal progress along all three dimensions of sustainable development: human, environmental and economic. In this paper, we explore possibilities to evaluate and enhance SSI ranking calculation methodology based on the use of an iterative multivariate post hoc I-distance approach. Based on the assessment on how each indicator contributes to the final position of different countries and identification of the most influential indicators, we examine possibilities of reduction of a number of indicators. The goal is to improve the stability of the ranking results and overall quality of the model, focusing on the analysis of the relative contribution of the indicators in an iterative assessment process. By this, we provide in-depth analysis and more comprehensive understanding of specific factors that determines one country ranking position. Thus proposed approach can support policymakers to identify key indicators and focus the priority areas where investment in improvement measures and programs would have the most efficient impact on the overall positioning of the country. INTERNET in education ,HIGHER education ,ONLINE social networks ,WEB 2.0 ,COLLEGE students - Abstract
Today Facebook is considered as one of the most popular platforms for online social networking among youth, and - as many researches show - university students. Also, the impact of Web 2.0 and social networking tools on education has been much elaborated on. Educators need to consider how to meet the needs of their students by utilizing Web 2.0 and other social networking tools. Social networking sites such as Facebook (and MySpace) have been subject to much recent debate within the educational community. Facebook has quickly become the social network site of choice by college students and an integral part of the "behind the scenes" college experience (Selwyn, 2007). Thus, it is essential to integrate social networking tools with the education. The key aspect of this paper will be focused on research of achievement levels of higher environmental education by educational use of Facebook among students of the Faculty of Organizational Science, University of Belgrade, Serbia. An analysis of the results was carried out using the SPSS software package. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

UNIVERSITY rankings ,STAKEHOLDERS ,NOBEL Prizes ,SCHOOL administration - Abstract
In recent years different models for ranking universities were introduced, each of them contributing immensely to the topic of university rankings. This paper will provide an overview of currently most popular ranking methods and in particular provide a thorough analysis of Leiden ranking methodology. Although providing valuable data, Leiden rankings fail to present an integrated indicator which can rank universities accordingly (characteristics of ARWU and THE ranking methodologies). As a remedy to the issue, by using statistical l-distance method we will integrate all the Leiden 2013 ranking indicators into one value, which will therefore represent a rank. Moreover, our results will provide us with the information on which of the input indicators is the most important one for the process of ranking. Our results clearly show that the Proportion of collaborative publications occupies the most significant spot. Moreover, performances of Universities of Ljubljana, Zagreb and Belgrade are presented and elaborated upon. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Contemporary business, and thus sports, should take advantage of statistical and mathematical methods for the assessment of efficiency. In this paper efficiency evaluation will be conducted on NBA players using data envelopment analysis and distance based analysis. These efficiency measurement methods are performed in order to show that the economic factor is important and widely recognized as one of the major parameter which indicates the efficiency of an NBA player that can be used by management or a decision maker. Data envelopment analyses (DEA) is non parametric method that is primarily used for the purpose of evaluating the efficiency of non-profit units. DBA measures efficiency based on the I-distance metrics. In this paper 26 NBA player were evaluated. This analysis provides the efficiency and rank of each player, not only obtained by DEA and DBA, but with NBA efficiency evaluation methods. Furthermore, official NBA efficiency evaluation methods are compared with abovementioned methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The control of climate changes is one of the greatest historical challenges facing humanity in the 21st century. All economy sectors need to contribute as much as possible, and clearly the information technologies (ITs) have a key role. ITs are recognized as important enablers of the low-carbon transition. They offer mostly untapped significant potential to mitigate our emissions, empower energy users and create completely new business opportunities. However, I/s have also a carbon footprint. Due to significance they could have and hazardous effects that they can cause, IT are subject to international and national regulations. An increasing number of laws define the principles, establish standards, stipulate jurisdictions and prescribe penalties for those who violate the law. The entire network of regulations is being established in order to minimize environmental problems. Moreover, the Republic of Serbia is not that much behind and nowadays is increasingly included in the network. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The subject of this thesis is the development of a methodological framework for the improvement of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) by employing Ivanovic distance (I-distance) with resampling, in order to generate the bounds of virtual weights in the Global Assurance Region DEA model (GAR DEA). The dissertation examined the problems of measuring the efficiency of complex systems. In addition, overview of the most frequently used methods for efficiency evaluation and their particular advantages and disadvantages are provided. The idea of weight restrictions in DEA is elaborated. DEA is the most commonly used method for estimating the relative efficiency of complex entities using various inputs in order to produce various outputs. Freedom in determining the weights have consequences that a significant number of entities will often be perceived to be efficient, which diminishes the discriminatory power of the method. Also, some entities will be assessed only on a small subset of their indicators, while other indicators are ignored. The new model improves deficiency that occurs in classic weight restriction models, where the bounds for weights are obtained by subjective evaluation of experts. Using the I-distance, data-driven, significance assessment is obtained for each of the indicators involved in the estimation of the relative efficiency. The proposed model has shown consistency and applicability to both profit and non-profit oriented systems, which is verified by the publication of scientific papers, where new model has been utilized in efficiency evaluation of banking and health systems. It is also shown that the model can be successfully applied in the two-stage DEA analysis, in cases where indicators exist that are not under the direct control of the entity.

The subject of research in this thesis is defining the electronic voting model using the cloud computing technology. The aim is to examine the possibility to apply this model in the area of government and education. From the e-government aspect, the essence of e-voting model application is to improve existing, traditional voting system which, in addition to many other advantages, brings also a reduction of voting costs. When it comes to the implementation of the e-voting model in the area of electronic education, it is necessary to examine to what extent e-voting techniques can increase students’ participation and their interest in the educational process. Another way to accomplish this is to use social networks as a medium for crowdvoting, competition and collaboration among students. The e-voting infrastructure model presented in this thesis is based on cloud computing technology. The security issue is ensured by using the cryptographic (Blockchain) protocols, relying on the e-identification principles, as a system for voters’ authentication. Since the suggested architecture of e-voting model is multilayered, there is a possibility to integrate e-voting services, IT infrastructure and register of participants in voting process. The concept of service-oriented architecture is described in the thesis and it going to be base for e-voting system development. With the aim to evaluate model in doctoral dissertation, testing of e-voting system’s functionality and security will be carried, with an emphasis on performance and efficiency improvement of suggested model.

The subject of this dissertation are structured regression models that are designed to use relationships between objects for predicting output variables. In other words, structured regression models consider the attributes of objects and dependencies between objects to make predictions as accurately as possible. Gaussian Conditional Random Fields (GCRF) model is commonly used structured regression model that incorporates the outputs of traditional supervised learning models (unstructured predictors) and the correlation between output variables in order to achieve a higher prediction accuracy. A main assumption in the GCRF model is that if two objects are closely related, they should be more similar to each other and they should have similar values of the output variable. The similarity considered in GCRF is symmetric. However, in many real-world examples objects are asymmetrically linked. This dissertation presents extension of GCRF model that considers asymmetric similarities between objects (called Directed GCRF). The effectiveness of new model is characterized on synthetic datasets and real-world datasets, on which it was more accurate than the standard GCRF model and baseline unstructured predictors. This dissertation also presents development of an open-source software tool that integrates various GCRF methods and supports training and testing of those methods on different datasets using graphical user interface. The tool was evaluated with users with different level of knowledge in the machine learning field. Evaluation results confirmed that this tool is intuitive and easy to use for experts, as well as for beginners and researchers from different domains that can use GCRF for data prediction.

The subject of research for this doctoral dissertation are noise abatement measures at airports. The aim of the research was to determine the factors affecting the number and type of applied measures, and to determine whether there was interdependence between factors and measures, as well as between measures themselves. Upon examining the dependence of proposed factors and applied measures, it was established that there were interdependencies between factors and measures, as well as between the measures themselves. This finding was used to develop a decision support tool for introduction of new measures at airports. Application of the proposed tool is illustrated using the example of Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade. The following issues have been investigated by surveying the personnel responsible for implementation of the measures at European airports: major problems related to aircraft noise at airports; necessary resources and major barriers to the implementation of measures; effects of implemented measures upon addressing the noise problem at airports; as well as trends and priorities for introduction of measures to reduce noise impact around airports in the near future. Effects of the existing measures and problems in their application were analyzed to propose a new noise abatement measure. This new measure consists of determining aircraft assignment to take-off and landing routes by taking into account temporal and spatial variations in population in an airport’s vicinity, so that the number of people exposed to noise is reduced to the lowest possible extent. Application of the new measure proposed is exemplified by real data for Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade.

The objective of the paper is to expand the level of knowledge about quality costing in current practice, and to determine the need for defining а quality cost model in the contex of process-systemic approach. The paper presents a study that was conducted on 186 companies, from different industries. Only companies that are familiar with quality costs were selected for the research. The database of companies for the research was formed using three indicators of the companies’ familiarity with quality costs. The results show that there is a high level of awareness of quality costs importance, and that there is an increase in the number of companies managing these costs. Factors affecting quality costs management systems were pointed out, and associations among variables which define those systems are analysed. In addition, the requirements of standard ISO 9001:2015, which are in statistically significant association with the variables defining quality costs management, were selected according to the companies’ standpoint towards the importance of their fulfillment. Given that the research results point to the need for defining а quality cost model in the contex of process-systemic approach, the PAF model is used in this paper on the process level, in order to propose a quality cost model where the elements of quality costs are considered in relation to the outputs of the processes, and where the principle that one process affects the quality of another process by its outputs is taken into consideration. In the model, quality costs are determined for each process in two moments: the current (before taking measurs) and expected (after taking measurs).

The aim of the research in his doctoral thesis is the formulation of the concept of integrated advertising whose implementation is achieved by maximizing performance and achieving positive effects, both in terms of advertisers and target audience. In the thesis, the effects of using different instruments of advertising and the possibility of their integration are determined, in order to transmit a unified message to the audience in a way that would generate their positive cognitive and affective reactions. Empirical research was conducted in December 2015 at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences on a sample of 322 second-year students of the faculty. The survey was carried out in two successive stages. In the first phase, three experiments were carried out under controlled laboratory conditions and they included exposing respondents to certain audio-visual materials, specially adapted for these purposes, in which indirect, direct and integrated advertising appeared. In the second phase, respondents filled out questionnaires in printed form, designed to assess their cognitive and affective reactions. For purposes of assessing cognitive components, tests of unaided recall, aided recall and recognition were used, while for the purpose of assesing affective reactions, test of evaluation of attitudes of the respondents about the different types of advertising and products that are advertised were used. Based on the results of empirical research, obtained for all three types of advertising (indirect, direct and integrated), integrated advertising showed the greatest potential for planning the positioning of brands in the minds of the audience. Satisfactory results (slightly worse than in the case of integrated) were achieved in the case of direct advertising, but it can be concluded that this is due to focus of the audience on an experimental material they watched, which does not reflect the real situation. The results showed that, without specific reminders, audience poorly remembers indirectly advertised brands, which indicates that this type of advertising used alone does not give the desired results. On the other hand, the respondents expressed positive attitudes towards indirect advertising, which makes it an attractive instrument for overcoming the resistance of the auditorium, which Интегрисано оглашавање базирано на когнитивним и афективним реакцијама аудиторијума v can result from excessive exposure to various marketing stimuli from the environment. This result of the study clearly implies the need for planning advertising primarily in an integrated form, with synergistic messages. Based on the results obtained, in the context of integrated advertising planning, indirect advertising could get primary importance in relation to the direct advertising, taking into account a number of other objectives, other than the objective motivation to purchase. Positioning in the minds of the target audience, and implying a resonant effect may be stronger stimulus in terms of long-term investments integrated with other instruments of marketing and corporate communications.
