Haloxylon ammodendron is an excellent windproof and sand-fixing species whose shrubs are widely cultivated in arid desert areas of northwest China but are now at risk of degradation and shrinkage. Using the chlorophyll fluorescence image analysis technique, the response of photosystem II (PSII) photochemical efficiency and non-photochemical quenching capacity to sediment-carrying wind and sand-free wind (both 12 m s−1) lasting for 10, 20, and 40 min were studied with seedlings in a wind tunnel. The results indicated that the sand-free wind had little influence on the maximum quantum efficiency of PSII photochemistry, Fv/Fm, which was approximately 0.80 on average; however, the Fv/Fm decreased over exposure time in the sediment-carrying wind group, with values smaller than those in the wind-only group. The non-photochemical quenching was sensitive to wind erosion, and sediment-carrying wind could aggravate the reduction in non-photochemical quenching (NPQ). Except for the 10 min duration, the maximum quantum efficiency of PSII photochemistry after dark recovery for 15 min, Fvr/Fmr, was lower in seedlings exposed to sediment-carrying wind than in those in the wind-only group. Compared to wind-only, wind-blown sand led to a water imbalance and withering in seedlings, causing the concentration of photosynthetic pigments (when based on the fresh mass of green branches) to not decrease. With a longer exposure time to sediment-carrying wind, both the probability and extent of lignified spots occurring increased in green assimilative branches. Our results demonstrated that sediment-carrying wind at 12 m s−1 lasting for 20 min or more could cause irreversible damage to the photosynthetic apparatus of H. ammodendron seedlings. Therefore, frequent and strong sandstorms are the main disturbance factors leading to shrinkage of shrubs and limiting their self-renewal.

Lepton scattering is an established ideal tool for studying inner structure of small particles such as nucleons as well as nuclei. As a future high energy nuclear physics project, an Electron-ion collider in China (EicC) has been proposed. It will be constructed based on an upgraded heavy-ion accelerator, High Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF) which is currently under construction, together with a new electron ring. The proposed collider will provide highly polarized electrons (with a polarization of $\sim$80%) and protons (with a polarization of $\sim$70%) with variable center of mass energies from 15 to 20 GeV and the luminosity of (2-3) $\times$ 10$^{33}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$. Polarized deuterons and Helium-3, as well as unpolarized ion beams from Carbon to Uranium, will be also available at the EicC. The main foci of the EicC will be precision measurements of the structure of the nucleon in the sea quark region, including 3D tomography of nucleon; the partonic structure of nuclei and the parton interaction with the nuclear environment; the exotic states, especially those with heavy flavor quark contents. In addition, issues fundamental to understanding the origin of mass could be addressed by measurements of heavy quarkonia near-threshold production at the EicC. In order to achieve the above-mentioned physics goals, a hermetical detector system will be constructed with cutting-edge technologies. This document is the result of collective contributions and valuable inputs from experts across the globe. In the target fragmentation region of Semi-Inclusive Deep Inelastic Scattering, the diffractively produced hadron has small transverse momentum. If it is at order of $\Lambda_{QCD}$, it prevents to make predictions with the standard collinear factorization. However, in this case, differential cross-sections can be predicted by the factorization with fracture functions, diffractive parton distributions. If the transverse momentum is much larger than $\Lambda_{QCD}$ but much smaller than $Q$ which is the virtuality of the virtual photon, both factorizations apply. In this case, fracture functions can be factorized with collinear parton distributions and fragmentation functions. We study the factorization up to twist-3 level and obtain gauge invariant results. They will be helpful for modeling fracture functions and useful for resummation of large logarithm of the transverse momentum appearing in collinear factorization., Comment: Published version

Reactions of 2-{[5-(Pyridin-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl]sulfanyl}acetic acid (H2L) with manganese(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) acetate in CH3OH/H2O mixture result in the corresponding metal complexes. All the obtained complexes were characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analyses, ESI-MS, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Structural analyses reveal the dinuclear complexes with the compositions [Mn2L2(CH3OH)2(H2O)2]·2CH3OH (1), [Zn2L2(CH3OH)2(H2O)2]·2CH3OH (2), and 1D chain structure [CdL(H2O)]n (3) in all complexes, H2L is doubly deprotonated (L2-) and serves as equilibrium anion. The carboxylate acts as monodentate ligand in 1 and 2, While μ1,1-bridging ligand in 3. The measurement of Jack Bean urease inhibitory activity showed that 1 and 3 exhibited considerable inhibitory effects for Jack Bean urease with IC50 Values of 12.4 and 2.7 μM, respectively. Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) is a common phenomenon among contemporary young people. It refers to negative emotions such as unease and anxiety that occur when young people think they miss out on beneficial things that others are doing or experiencing. This negative emotion harms individual behavior and physical and mental health. The FoMO instrument measures the fear of missing out in individuals. However, because of the cultural differences that influence the understood bias and the distinct structure of the psychological measurement, the existing FoMO scale cannot be used with Chinese college students. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a FoMO scale based on individual psychology, which would be suitable for localization in China, and to measure its reliability and validity. The newly developed fear of missing out scale (CFoMOs) contained 15 items, and 4 factors: missing motivation, missing cognition, missing emotion, and missing behaviors. An exploratory factor analysis revealed that the cumulative variance contribution rate was 65.22%. A confirmatory factor analysis showed that the CFoMOs had good construct validity (χ2/df = 1.93, TLI = .90, CFI = 0.95, RMSEA = 0.05). The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of all subscales ranged from 0.73 to 0.79, the omega (ω) coefficients of all subscales ranged from 0.73 to 0.80, and the test-retest reliabilities were between 0.56 and 0.72. Semirigid organic ligands can adopt different conformations to construct coordination polymers with more diverse structures when compared to those constructed from rigid ligands. A new asymmetric semirigid organic ligand, 4-{2-[(pyridin-3-yl)methyl]-2H-tetrazol-5-yl}pyridine (L), has been prepared and used to synthesize three bimetallic macrocyclic complexes and one coordination polymer, namely, bis(μ-4-{2-[(pyridin-3-yl)methyl]-2H-tetrazol-5-yl}pyridine)bis[dichloridozinc(II)] dichloromethane disolvate, [Zn2Cl4(C12H10N6)2]·2CH2Cl2, (I), the analogous chloroform monosolvate, [Zn2Cl4(C12H10N6)2]·CHCl3, (II), bis(μ-4-{2-[(pyridin-3-yl)methyl]-2H-tetrazol-5-yl}pyridine)bis[diiodidozinc(II)] dichloromethane disolvate, [Zn2I4(C12H10N6)2]·2CH2Cl2, (III), and catena-poly[[[diiodidozinc(II)]-μ-4-{2-[(pyridin-3-yl)methyl]-2H-tetrazol-5-yl}pyridine] chloroform monosolvate], {[ZnI2(C12H10N6)]·CHCl3} n , (IV), by solution reaction with ZnX 2 (X = Cl and I) in a CH2Cl2/CH3OH or CHCl3/CH3OH mixed solvent system at room temperature. Complex (I) is isomorphic with complex (III) and has a bimetallic ring possessing similar coordination environments for both of the ZnII cations. Although complex (II) also contains a bimetallic ring, the two ZnII cations have different coordination environments. Under the influence of the I− anion and guest CHCl3 molecule, complex (IV) displays a significantly different structure with respect to complexes (I)–(III). C—H...Cl and C—H...N hydrogen bonds, and π–π stacking or C—Cl...π interactions exist in complexes (I)–(IV), and these weak interactions play an important role in the three-dimensional structures of (I)–(IV) in the solid state. In addition, the fluorescence properties of L and complexes (I)–(IV) were investigated.

Two coordination polymers, namely [Ag2(L)(SO3CF3)(H2O)](SO3CF3)•CH2Cl2 (1) and [Ag5(L)4(H2O)2](SbF6)5•5THF (2), were obtained by reacting oxadiazole-containing tri-armed ligand 1,3,5-tri(2-methylthio-1,3,4-oxadiazole-5yl) ben-zene (L) and silver salts in CH2Cl2/THF medium. The two complexes crystallized in the tetragonal space group I41/a and orthorhombic space group Fdd2, respectively. The Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that the two complexes ex-hibit strikingly different 3D polymeric structures, which can be ascribed to the different counter anions. L in compound 1 acted as a hexa-dentate ligand, binding to two types of Ag+ atoms to form a 3D polymeric structure. L in compound 2acted as a hexa- and penta-dentate ligand, binding to three types of Ag+ atoms to form the 3D polymeric structure. The antibacterial activity of the complexes was also investigated.

The rational design and preparation of monolayer metal-organic framework (MOF) nanosheets remain great challenges. Recently, we found that monolayer MOF nanosheets can be facially exfoliated on a large scale from pristine two-dimensional (2D) MOFs with substantially reduced interlaminar interaction. By employing cage-like bicyclocalix[2]arene[2]triazine tri-imidazole as the building block, a family of cationic two-dimensional metal-organic frameworks (2D MOFs) with steric layer were designed and prepared. The single crystal structures have clearly identified that only very weak and sparse distributed C-H···π interaction exists between adjacent layers.On the basis of density functional theory calculation, the interlayer interaction of these cage-based cationic 2D MOFs was estimated to be 1/46th of that of graphite. Due to the extremely weak interaction, these cationic 2D MOFs tend to degenerate into an "amorphous" state after being soaked in other solvents; they can be readily exfoliated into 1.1 nm thick monolayer nanosheets with a high degree of thickness homogeneity, large lateral size, and significantly enlarged surface area. This work has identified that a cage-like molecule is the ideal building block for 2D cationic MOFs and ultrathin nanosheets; It was futher confirmed that weakening the interlaminar interaction is an effective strategy for facilely producing monolayer nanosheets.

The tridentate organic ligand 4,4′,4′′-(4,4,8,8,12,12-hexamethyl-8,12-dihydro-4H-benzo[9,1]quinolizino[3,4,5,6,7-defg]acridine-2,6,10-triyl)tribenzoic acid (H3L) has been synthesized (as the methanol 1.25-solvate, C48H39NO6·1.25CH3OH). As a donor–acceptor motif molecule, H3L possess strong intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) fluorescence. Through hydrogen bonds, H3L molecules construct a two-dimensional (2D) network, which pack together into three-dimensional (3D) networks with an ABC stacking pattern in the crystalline state. Based on H3L and M(NO3)2 salts (M = Cd and Zn) under solvothermal conditions, two metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), namely, catena-poly[[triaquacadmium(II)]-μ-10-(4-carboxyphenyl)-4,4′-(4,4,8,8,12,12-hexamethyl-8,12-dihydro-4H-benzo[9,1]quinolizino[3,4,5,6,7-defg]acridine-2,6-diyl)dibenzoato], [Cd(C48H37NO6)(H2O)3] n , I, and poly[[μ3-4,4′,4′′-(4,4,8,8,12,12-hexamethyl-8,12-dihydro-4H-benzo[9,1]quinolizino[3,4,5,6,7-defg]acridine-2,6,10-triyl)tribenzoato](μ3-hydroxido)zinc(II)], [Zn2(C48H36NO6)(OH)] n , II, were synthesized. Single-crystal analysis revealed that both MOFs adopt a 3D structure. In I, partly deprotonated HL 2− behaves as a bidentate ligand to link a CdII ion to form a one-dimensional chain. In the solid state of I, the existence of weak interactions, such as O—H...O hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions, plays an essential role in aligning 2D nets and 3D networks with AB packing patterns for I. The deprotonated ligand L 3− in II is utilized as a tridentate building block to bind ZnII ions to construct 3D networks, where unusual Zn4O14 clusters act as connection nodes. As a donor–acceptor molecule, H3L exhibits fluorescence with a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 70% in the solid state. In comparison, the PL of both MOFs is red-shifted with even higher PLQYs of 79 and 85% for I and II, respectively.

Herein, a new multidentate ligand, 5-(imidazol-1-yl)-N′-(pyridin-4-ylmethylene) nicotinohydrazide (L), with an acylhydrazone group was synthesized and characterized. Subsequently, four porous Cd(II)-MOFs, i.e. [Cd(L)(NO3)]n (1), [Cd(L)Cl]n (2), [Cd(L)Br]n (3), and [Cd(L)I]n (4), were assembled using the ligand L by a solvothermal method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and powder X-ray diffraction. Structural analysis shows that the coordination environments around Cd(II) in all the four compounds are different due to the different coordinated anions. Among them, the coordination geometries and the arrangement of five-coordinated groups of the compound 1 containing the coordinated NO3− anions are significantly different from those of the other three compounds containing halides. However, all the four MOFs have similar one-dimensional rhombic channels. In these channels, both the nitrate ions and the halide ions are attached to the inner walls of the pores. The CO2 adsorption properties of 1–4 were studied at 273 K, and the results showed that these compounds exhibit different adsorption capacities for CO2 due to the presence of different ions in their pores.

Bismuth(III) oxidation of 3,5-di-substituted-1,2,4-triazolato anions afforded a paddlewheel 1,2,4-triazolato dibismuth complex [L2(Bi–Bi)L2] (L = η1,η1-3,5-R2tz, R = Ph (3), iPr (4)) with very short Bi(II)–Bi(II) bonds (2.8650(4)−2.8721(3) A). The reaction involved the intermediates of the organobismuth radical [Bi(R2tz)2]˙ and neutral N-1,2,4-triazolyl radical [3,5-R2tz]˙. The dimerization of the former produced the corresponding dibismuth complex while the latter was trapped by using spin trap 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline-N-oxide (DMPO) to give the radical adduct of {(3,5-R2tz)(DMPO)}˙ which was unambiguously evidenced by EPR analysis.

The new asymmetrical organic ligand 2-{4-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]phenyl}-5-(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (L, C17H13N5O), containing pyridine and imidazole terminal groups, as well as potential oxdiazole coordination sites, was designed and synthesized. The coordination chemistry of L with soft AgI, CuI and CdII metal ions was investigated and three new coordination polymers (CPs), namely, catena-poly[[silver(I)-μ-2-{4-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]phenyl}-5-(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole] hexafluoridophosphate], {[Ag(L)]PF6} n , catena-poly[[copper(I)-di-μ-iodido-copper(I)-bis(μ-2-{4-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]phenyl}-5-(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole)] 1,4-dioxane monosolvate], {[Cu2I2(L)2]·C4H8O2} n , and catena-poly[[[dinitratocopper(II)]-bis(μ-2-{4-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]phenyl}-5-(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole)]–methanol–water (1/1/0.65)], {[Cd(L)2(NO3)2]·2CH4O·0.65H2O} n , were obtained. The experimental results show that ligand L coordinates easily with linear AgI, tetrahedral CuI and octahedral CdII metal atoms to form one-dimensional polymeric structures. The intermediate oxadiazole ring does not participate in the coordination interactions with the metal ions. In all three CPs, weak π–π interactions between the nearly coplanar pyridine, oxadiazole and benzene rings play an important role in the packing of the polymeric chains.

Because of its versatile coordination modes and strong coordination ability, the mercaptoacetic acid substituted 1,2,4-triazole 2-{[5-(pyridin-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl]sulfanyl}acetic acid (H2L) was synthesized and characterized. Treatment of H2L with cobalt and nickel acetate afforded the dinuclear complexes {μ-3-[(carboxylatomethyl)sulfanyl]-5-(pyridin-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-ido-κ2 N 1,N 5:N 2,O}bis[aqua(methanol-κO)cobalt(II)] methanol disolvate, [Co2(C9H6N4O2S)2(CH3OH)2(H2O)2]·2CH3OH (1), and {μ-3-[(carboxylatomethyl)sulfanyl]-5-(pyridin-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-ido-κ2 N 1,N 5:N 2,O}bis[diaquanickel(II)] methanol disolvate dihydrate, [Ni2(C9H6N4O2S)2(H2O)4]·2CH3OH·2H2O (2), respectively. Complex 1 crystallized in the monoclinic space group P21/c, while 2 crystallized in the tetragonal space group I41/a. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies revealed that H2L is doubly deprotonated and acts as a tetradentate bridging ligand in complexes 1 and 2. For both of the obtained complexes, extensive hydrogen-bond interactions contribute to the formation of their three-dimensional supermolecular structures. Hirshfeld surface analysis was used to illustrate the intermolecular interactions. Additionally, the urease inhibitory activities of 1, 2 and H2L were investigated against jack bean urease, where the two complexes revealed strong urease inhibition activities.

A new asymmetric ligand, 5-{3-[5-(4-methylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl]phenyl}-2-(pyridin-3-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (L5), which contains two oxadiazole rings, was synthesized and characterized. The assembly of symmetric 2,5-bis(pyridin-3-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (L1) and asymmetricL5with AgCO2CF3in solution yielded two novel AgIcomplexes, namelycatena-poly[[di-μ-trifluoroacetato-disilver(I)]-bis[μ-2,5-bis(pyridin-3-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole]], [Ag2(C2F3O2)2(C12H8N4O)2]nor [Ag2(μ2-O2CCF3)2(L1)2]n(1), and bis(μ3-5-{3-[5-(4-methylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl]phenyl}-2-(pyridin-3-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole)tetra-μ3-trifluoroacetato-tetrasilver(I) dichloromethane monosolvate, [Ag4(C2F3O2)4(C22H15N5O2)2]·CH2Cl2or [Ag2(μ3-O2CCF3)2(L5)]2·CH2Cl2(2). Complex1displays a one-dimensional ring–chain motif, where dinuclear Ag2(CF3CO2)2units alternate with Ag2(L1)2macrocycles. This structure is different from previously reported Ag–L1complexes with different anions. Complex2features a tetranuclear supramolecular macrocycle, in which each ligand adopts a tridentate coordination mode with the oxadiazole ring next to thep-tolyl ring coordinated and that next to the pyridyl ring free. TwoL5ligands are bound to two Ag1 centres through two oxadiazole N and two pyridyl N atoms to form a macrocycle. The other two oxadiazole N atoms coordinate to the two Ag2 centres of the Ag2(O2CCF3)4dimer. Each CF3CO2−anion adopts a μ3-coordination mode, bridging the Ag1 and Ag2 centres to form a tetranuclear silver(I) complex. This study indicates that the donor ability of the bridging oxadiazole rings can be tuned by electron-withdrawing and -donating substituents. The emission properties of ligandsL1andL5and complexes1and2were also investigated in the solid state.

The selective adsorption of APPT-Cd-MOF 1 for propyne, 2-butyne and phenylacetylene was confirmed by single-crystal analysis. In addition, the selective adsorption performance of Cd-MOF for C3H4/C3H6/C3H8 was investigated. The matching of the functionality and size/shape between porous materials and guest molecules clarified the specific recognition of 1 for linear alkyne molecules.

Herein, we report, for the first time, a Pd6L8(NO3)5.4(ICG)6.6 (ICG = indocyanine green) cage-based hexagonal nanoplate (3) via a combined nanoprecipitation and solid-state anion-exchange approach. Nanoplate 3 possesses enhanced near-infrared (NIR) light-triggered 1O2 generation, high cellular uptake selective lysosome-targeting ability, and, consequently, excellent antineoplastic activity.

The adsorption behaviour of the CdII–MOF {[Cd(L)2(ClO4)2]·H2O (1), where L is 4-amino-3,5-bis[3-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl]-1,2,4-triazole, for butan-2-one was investigated in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal (SCSC) fashion. A new host–guest system that encapsulated butan-2-one molecules, namely poly[[bis{μ3-4-amino-3,5-bis[3-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl]-1,2,4-triazole}cadmium(II)] bis(perchlorate) butanone sesquisolvate], {[Cd(C24H18N6)2](ClO4)2·1.5C4H8O} n , denoted C4H8O@Cd-MOF (2), was obtained via an SCSC transformation. MOF 2 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group P43212. The specific binding sites for butan-2-one in the host were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. N—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions and C—H...π interactions between the framework, ClO4 − anions and guest molecules co-operatively bind 1.5 butan-2-one molecules within the channels. The adsorption behaviour was further evidenced by 1H NMR, IR, TGA and powder X-ray diffraction experiments, which are consistent with the single-crystal X-ray analysis. A 1H NMR experiment demonstrates that the supramolecular interactions between the framework, ClO4 − anions and guest molecules in MOF 2 lead to a high butan-2-one uptake in the channel.

4,4′-{9,9′-Spirobi[10H-acridine]-10,10′-diyl}dibenzoic acid (L, C29H26N2O4) was designed and synthesized as a new donor–acceptor motif molecule. Due to the large dihedral angle between the planes of the carboxyphenyl group and the spiroacridine moiety, L possess thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). By applying L as a ligand and using Cd as a metal connector, we synthesized the coordination polymer catena-poly[hemi-μ-aqua-aqua(μ3-4,4′-{9,9′-spirobi[10H-acridine]-10,10′-diyl}dibenzoato)cadmium(II)], [Cd(C29H24N2O4)(H2O)1.5] n , (I). X-ray crystallographic analysis revealed that this coordination polymer exhibits one-dimensional chains constructed from molecular twist-ring moieties, with Cd2O11 clusters as the connection nodes. The stacking pattern of the two-dimensional network was formed by C—H...π interactions in the solid state. Similar to L, (I) presents a sky-blue TADF emission, together with a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 40%. It is worth noting that the photocatalytic activity toward the generation of singlet oxygen of this coordination polymer is confirmed.

Three new one- (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) CuII coordination polymers, namely poly[[bis{μ2-4-amino-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-[(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)sulfanyl]-1,2,4-triazole}copper(II)] bis(methanesulfonate) tetrahydrate], {[Cu(C13H12N5S)2](CH3SO3)2·4H2O} n (1), catena-poly[[copper(II)-bis{μ2-4-amino-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-[(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)sulfanyl]-1,2,4-triazole}] dinitrate methanol disolvate], {[Cu(C13H12N5S)2](NO3)2·2CH3OH} n (2), and catena-poly[[copper(II)-bis{μ2-4-amino-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-[(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)sulfanyl]-1,2,4-triazole}] bis(perchlorate) monohydrate], {[Cu(C13H12N5S)2](ClO4)2·H2O} n (3), were obtained from 4-amino-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-[(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)sulfanyl]-1,2,4-triazole with pyridin-3-yl terminal groups and from 4-amino-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-[(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)sulfanyl]-1,2,4-triazole with pyridin-4-yl terminal groups. Compound 1 displays a 2D net-like structure. The 2D layers are further linked through hydrogen bonds between methanesulfonate anions and amino groups on the framework and guest H2O molecules in the lattice to form a three-dimensional (3D) structure. Compound 2 and 3 exhibit 1D chain structures, in which the complicated hydrogen-bonding interactions play an important role in the formation of the 3D network. These experimental results indicate that the coordination orientation of the heteroatoms on the ligands has a great influence on the polymeric structures. Moreover, the selection of different counter-anions, together with the inclusion of different guest solvent molecules, would also have a great effect on the hydrogen-bonding systems in the crystal structures.

Three new Mn(II) coordination polymers (CPs) derived from the redox-active tetra(4-pyridyl)-tetrathiafulvalene ligand (TTF(py)4), namely, {[MnCl2(TTF(py)4)]·4CH2Cl2·CH3OH}n (1), {[Mn(N3)(TTF(py)4)]·(ClO4)·2CHCl3·CH3OH)}n (2), and {[Mn(dca)2(TTF(py)4)0.5]·CH3OH}n (3) (dca = dicyanamide), were synthesized and characterized. Their topology and dimensionality are dependent on the counteranion used: Cl– forms a two-dimensional network, N3– induces a (4,6)-connected binodal sqc11-type three-dimensional (3D) framework, while dca results in a 2-fold interpenetrated (4,6)-connected binodal sqc173-type topological 3D framework. All compounds exhibit redox activity and display antiferromagnetic interactions. A single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformation from 2 to 2′ induced by solvent exchange was observed and structurally characterized.

Four [Ag–Ag]2+ unit-encapsulated trimetallic cages 1–4 were synthesized from one new tripodal ligand L and silver salts in different solvent systems by a one-pot method. The formation of coordination cages occurred simultaneously with the condensation of amino groups and ketone. The remarkable structural feature of cages 1–4 is their spontaneous incorporation of [Ag–Ag]2+ cationic units. Moreover, the argentophilic interactions are modulated by the uncoordinated amino substituents. The study herein shows that modification and subtle changes of the cage structures could be realized by a one-pot synthetic method.

Two donor-acceptor motif fulvene-containing boron complexes were synthesized with fulvene diketonate boron difluoride (FDB) as the organic acceptor. Both difluoroboron complexes present aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties and cell tracing function with excellent biocompatibility. And mechanochromic luminescence has been accomplished by the synthesis, isolation and characterization of BL2.

Bismuth(iii) oxidation of 3,5-di-substituted-1,2,4-triazolato anions afforded a paddlewheel 1,2,4-triazolato dibismuth complex [L2(Bi-Bi)L2] (L = η1,η1-3,5-R2tz, R = Ph (3), iPr (4)) with very short Bi(ii)-Bi(ii) bonds (2.8650(4)-2.8721(3) Å). The reaction involved the intermediates of the organobismuth radical [Bi(R2tz)2]˙ and neutral N-1,2,4-triazolyl radical [3,5-R2tz]˙. The dimerization of the former produced the corresponding dibismuth complex while the latter was trapped by using spin trap 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline-N-oxide (DMPO) to give the radical adduct of {(3,5-R2tz)(DMPO)}˙ which was unambiguously evidenced by EPR analysis.
