Communication networks grow exponentially in this globalization era; thus, the network traffic modelling and prediction plays a crucial role in network management and security warning. Solely, the multi-step network traffic prediction may involve greater errors hence worsening prediction performance. To overcome this problem, an optimized echo state network model with selective error compensation is proposed. In the optimized echo state network-based multi-step prediction model, an improved fruit–fly optimization algorithm based on cloud model (named LVCMFOA) is used to select optimum values of four key parameters of the model. The proposed LVCMFOA algorithm uses the levy-flight function to redefine the generation of the fruit–fly population, which can randomly change the search radius and help getting out of a possible local optimal solution and prevent local optimum. To reduce the calculation time but improve the prediction accuracy simultaneously, a sophisticated selective error compensation strategy employing the variable sliding window technology is proposed so as to avoid the error accumulation problem in the multi-step prediction. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by applying it to Henon mapping chaotic series, Mackey–Glass chaotic series and two public network traffic data sets all known in the literature. In this paper, the finite time tracking control issue of the TCP/AQM system with input saturation and non-response flows such as UDP is studied. A novel AQM control algorithm is proposed by combining finite time control, prescribed performance control and fuzzy logic system. In order to obtain better disturbance suppression performance, the fuzzy logic system is adopted to deal with the external disturbance and the error disturbance generated by approximate input saturation function. The controller is designed to ensure that the queue tracking error converges to a specific region and achieve the practical finite time stability of all signals in the closed-loop system. The problem of finite-time attitude-tracking control (ATC) for a rigid spacecraft subject to inertial uncertainties, external disturbances, actuator saturations and faults is addressed. First, a fast nonsingular terminal sliding mode (FNTSM) manifold is constructed to improve robustness. Second, the fuzzy logic system (FLS) is integrated into the manifold derivative to deal with the lumped unknown function. The specific assumptions about uncertainties in most of the existing achievements are no longer needed. Combining the FNTSM and fuzzy approximation techniques, an enhanced fault-tolerant control scheme is developed. Compared to almost all finite-time ATC results based on FLS or neural network, a new Proof line is proposed to prove that the approximation errors are finite-time stable instead of asymptotically stable. Therefore, the attitude controller presented herein guarantees the real finite-time stability in a complete sense. For the nonlinear TCP/AWM network congestion control system with external disturbances, under the framework of backstepping control method, an adaptive network congestion control strategy based on event-triggered mechanism is proposed. This strategy reduces the waste of network resources by introducing an event-triggered mechanism and uses RBF neural network to deal with external disturbances. The Lyapunov theory is used to prove that all signals in the closed-loop system are bounded. In this paper, the problem of finite-time attitude-tracking control for a rigid spacecraft is addressed. In this article, the prescribed‐time global stabilization problem is taken into consideration when it comes to multi‐input‐multi‐output (MIMO) systems with unknown mismatched coupling nonlinear items. It is assumed that the unknown nonlinearities satisfy the linear growth conditions. First, a class of MIMO coupling nonlinear systems with controllable canonical form are considered. Then, by wielding a time‐varying Lyapunov‐like function and properties of parametric Lyapunov equations, a high‐gain linear time‐varying state feedback control law is developed to attenuate the impact of unknown nonlinear terms. Meanwhile, all state signals and control inputs are globally bounded and the target system becomes stable within the prescribed‐time. This article investigates the adaptive fuzzy prescribed time H ∞ congestion control problem for a class of high speed transmission control protocol/active queue management (HSTCP/AQM) systems subject to asymmetric input saturation and external disturbance. Firstly, a saturation-based finite-time performance function (SFTPF) is constructed by introducing a nonnegative modified signal associated with input saturation errors into user-defined performance boundaries, which features the capability of ensuring the user-appointed tracking performance when no saturation exists and degrading it once saturation occurs, thereby effectively increasing the flexibility and reliability of the control scheme. Then, by designing a novel shifting function, the condition that the initial value of the queue tracking error remains within that of SFTPF is relaxed, which avoids the SFTPF being redeveloped for different initial queue tracking errors. Thereafter, an auxiliary system and H ∞ control theory are employed to eliminate the adverse effect caused by input saturation and external disturbance, respectively. This work investigates an adaptive finite-time congestion control problem of transmission control protocol/active queue management. By means of the funnel control, neural networks and sliding mode control, a new AQM algorithm is proposed to ensure that the tracking error e 1 t converges to the prescribed boundary in finite time and the transient and steady-state performances of e 1 t can be satisfied. With the complexity of the network system rapidly increasing, network traffic prediction has great significance for the safety pre-warning of the network load, network management and control, and improvement of the quality of the network service. In this paper, the time series analysis is used for the network traffic prediction, and a prediction method combined with an optimized unscented Kalman filter (UKF) by an improved fruit fly algorithm (IFOA) and echo state network (ESN) is proposed, which is named by IFOA-UKF-ESN. The researches mainly solve the problem that the prediction accuracy might be greatly affected by the actual network traffic data with unknown and time-varying noises. UKF is used to train the best state vector (formed by spectral radius, scale of the reservoir, scale of the input units and connectivity rate) of ESN; and the proposed IFOA algorithm is proposed to optimize the weights of the predicted state value and the covariance in UKF, which makes UKF have adaptive ability for unknown and time-varying noise. Three actual network traffic data sets with different Gaussian white noise distributions are constructed for experiments, and the experimental results show that the proposed prediction method makes an average improvement by reducing at least 20.60%, 43.23% and 41.85% of RMSE, at least 23.66%, 52.38% and 47.50% of MAE, and at least 23.58%, 52.10% and 47.28% of MAPE, which verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Summary: In this article, the problem of finite‐time attitude‐tracking control for rigid spacecraft is addressed. Uncertainties caused by external disturbances, unknown inertial matrix, actuator failures, and saturation constraints are tackled simultaneously. First, a smooth function that is more qualified to approximate the standard saturation characteristics is presented to deal with the actuator saturation constraints. Second, a fast nonsingular terminal sliding mode (FNTSM) manifold is constructed as a foundation of controllers design. By incorporating the fuzzy logic system into FNTSM technique, a less demanding solution of coping with model uncertainties is provided because the requirement of a prior knowledge of unknown inertial parameters and external disturbances in many existing achievements is removed. To reduce the number of parameters to be estimated, the norm approximation approach is exploited. Subsequently, an antichattering attitude controller is presented such that all the tracking errors converge into arbitrary small domains around the origin in finite time. The result is further extended to obtain a fault‐tolerant controller against completely failed actuators. Finally, numerical simulation is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme and comparison with relevant literature demonstrates its high performance. Inspired by the prescribed performance control (PPC), a new performance function, called finite-time performance function (FTPF), is first defined in this paper, by which a novel finite-time control design process is introduced. This work is also the first to solve the finite-time control issue for a class of transmission control protocol/active queue management (TCP/AQM) networks. This paper discusses partial state constraint adaptive tracking control problem of switched nonlinear systems with uncertain parameters. In order to ensure boundedness of the outputs and prevent the states from violating the constraints, a barrier Lyapunov function (BLF) is employed. Based on backstepping method, an adaptive controller for the switched system is designed. Furthermore, the state-constrained asymptotic tracking under arbitrary switching is performed. A new anti-disturbance control scheme is proposed for a class of nonlinear systems subjected to multi-source disturbances. The uncertain multi-source disturbances are classified into two parts; one is the harmonic and constant disturbance with partial known information, which can be formulated by an exogenous system, and the other consists of unknown time-varying disturbances. The nonlinear disturbance observer (NDO) is constructed to estimate the first kind of disturbance. A new elegant anti-disturbance control and estimation strategy is presented for a class of nonlinear systems subject to multiple disturbances. As a class of strong-coupled nonlinear systems, the models have measurement error, friction, varying load, and unmodelled dynamics, which can be characterized as two types of disturbances in this framework. One is supposed to be generated by an exogenous system with uncertainty, which represents the disturbance with partial known information. The other is a bounded external disturbance in the H2-norm. The nonlinear robust disturbance observer (DO) based on regional pole placement theory is constructed separately from the controller design to estimate and reject the first type of disturbance, and terminal sliding-mode (TSM) control is used to attenuate the second type of disturbance. By integrating the nonlinear robust DO with TSM control, a new elegant anti-disturbance control scheme based on a robust DO is proposed for a kind of nonlinear system, which can further improve the ability of anti-disturbance for nonlinear systems. This paper proposes an active queue management (AQM) controller for a class of linearized congestion router network systems in the presence of unknown time-varying link number and disturbances. Based on the idea of MiniMax method in game theory, a novel output feedback controller is specially designed with the improved robustness to the disturbances and parameter variations. By applying the proposed algorithm in the terms of LMIs, the worst effect caused by the disturbance can be evaluated using MiniMax method, and mean while the controller is optimally designed to deal with the system under the worst condition. SUMMARY A new adaptive controller is designed on the basis of dynamic scaling and filter for lower triangular systems. Compared with the available adaptive results in the literature, the proposed adaptive approach does not necessarily need to satisfy the certainty equivalence principle and allows for prescribed dynamics to be assigned to the parameter estimation error. The proposed adaptive state feedback controller that ensures all signals of closed-loop systems are globally bounded while keeping the output tracking error to the origin simultaneously. It is interesting to note that, viewed from a Lyapunov perspective, the proposed method provides a procedure to add cross terms between the parameter estimates and the system states in every design step. This paper is concerned with the design of positive L1$$ {L}_1 $$ filter for positive Markovian jump systems (PMJSs) with adaptive event‐triggered mechanism and quantization. Considering the mode jump of the system, a new adaptive event‐triggered condition is established, which not only can regulate the communication threshold according to the error of dynamic systems, but also can avoid the asynchronous phenomenon between the system mode and the filter mode. In order to further reduce the burden of communication, a new positive L1$$ {L}_1 $$ filter with the quantized measure system output is developed, and the design condition which ensures the filter error system to be stochastically stable with L1$$ {L}_1 $$ performance is presented which can be solved in terms of linear programming (LP) technique. Abstract: The purpose of this study is to obtain a better understanding on the effect of ageing on the hardness of 6063 aluminium alloys refined with Ti, cerium-rich mixtures of rare earth (RE) and B with the aids of SEM, EDS, TEM, DSC, etc. The following conclusions have been obtained: the 6063 alloy with the joint additions of Ti, B and RE (10 w(Ti)/w(B) mass ratio) has the finest grain, compared to alloys with Ti or Ti and RE additions. Artificial ageing must be performed more than 7d after extrusion. The 6063 alloys refined with Ti, Ti+RE or Ti+RE+B all have better ageing behaviour. It takes shorter ageing time to obtain a hardness near peak ageing hardness and there is no obvious decrease of ageing hardness of the alloys until ageing for 6h at 200°C. The addition of RE forms Al–Si–Mg–RE intermetallic constituents, resulting in lower strength of alloys than that with Ti addition. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: By incorporating local traffic information into the shortest path routing strategy, we numerically investigate the effectiveness of the traffic awareness routing strategy for scale-free networks with different clustering. In order to characterize the efficiency of the packet-delivery process, we introduce an order parameter and an average transmission time that allow us to measure the network capacity by the critical value of phase transition from free flow to congestion. Compared with the shortest path routing protocol, the network capacity is greatly enhanced by the traffic awareness routing strategy. We also find that there exists an optimum value for the tunable parameter in the congestion awareness strategy. A robust super-twisting sliding mode control (SMC) based on a disturbance observer is firstly investigated for transmission control protocol (TCP) network systems with unknown disturbance in this paper. To reject chattering from SMC, a super-twisting algorithm (STA) based on integral SMC is introduced to TCP/AQM systems. Meanwhile, to improve the estimation accuracy of the model, a disturbance observer is designed. By selecting the appropriate sliding surface coefficients, the stability of the closed-loop control system is achieved. This article investigates stochastic stability of positive singular Markovian jump systems (PSMJSs) with mode-dependent derivative-term coefficient. Different from the existing results, the condition on stochastic stability of PSMJSs associated with state jumps behavior at switching instants is given by means of linear co-positive Lyapunuov function. On the basis of it, the conditions on stochastic stability under the cases of partially known transition rates and uncertain transition rates have been presented, respectively. This paper introduces sliding mode control for singular Takagi–Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy Markovian jump system with mode-dependent derivative-term coefficient. This article focuses on an annular domain finite-time connectively bounded (ADFTCB) problem for a large-scale system with expanding construction (LSWEC). The LSWEC is built via adding new subsystems into the original system which is operating. Inspired by the notion of finite-time annular domain stability (FTADS), a new concept, ADFTCB, is presented in this article, and it is extended to LSWEC for the first time. First of all, the mathematical models of LSWEC and LSWEC with observer are built, and then the corresponding decentralized state-feedback stabilizers and output-feedback stabilizers with observers are designed with the aid of finite-time Lyapunov theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) method which can make the closed-loop system ADFTCB. This work investigates a finite-time H ∞ robust congestion control issue for transmission control protocol network systems. In this paper, a semi-globally practical finite-time stability (SGPFS) problem is investigated for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems. This paper studies the problem of finite-time H∞ control for strict feedback nonlinear systems with external disturbance. The finite-time stability theory, H∞ control method, backstepping technique, together with adding a power integrator tool are combined to design a finite-time H∞ state feedback controller. Summary: This paper focuses on an adaptive practical preassigned finite‐time control problem for a class of unknown pure‐feedback nonlinear systems with full state constraints. This paper presents an average dwell-time method for fault-tolerant control of a class of uncertain switched linear time-delay systems and also designs an algorithm to determine the parameters pertaining to the dwell-time condition. Compared to the literature results, this paper features the following: 1) the proposed method is independent of switching polices if switchings are slow enough in the average sense; 2) the proposed control design guarantees exponential stabilization of this class of time-delay linear systems with actuator faults; and 3) this method treats all actuators in a unified manner without a need to identify which are faulty or healthy actuators. This paper studies a robust fault tolerant control of a class of nonlinear switched systems with strong structural uncertainties and actuator faults. This paper presents a new robust fault tolerant state feedback method, by using the average dwell time technique to stabilize the switched nonlinear systems exponentially under an arbitrary switching law. Comparing with the existing results, the method of this paper has three features: (1) this method is applicable to the switched nonlinear systems with strong structural uncertainties and faulty actuators and also the nominal case of the considered systems, there is no need to change any structures and/or parameters of the controller. (2) The switching law is arbitrary provided that the average switching is slow enough in the average sense. This paper studies the issue of finite-time prescribed performance control for spacecraft attitude tracking with inertia perturbations, external disturbances, actuator saturations and faults. To the best of the authors' knowledge, limited results have been reported in the relevant literature, and how to achieve the prescribed performance attitude tracking within a preset time interval is still an open problem. A novel finite-time prescribed performance function (FTPPF) whose settling time can be arbitrarily preset is first proposed. With the FTPPF predefining the envelope of tracking-error trajectories, the original spacecraft model is transformed into a new error system. Based on the barrier Lyapunov function of converted errors, the attitude controller is derived via backstepping design. During the process, the fuzzy approximation is used to handle inertia perturbations and external disturbances, while the Nussbaum gain technique is adopted to compensate for the efficiency loss caused by actuator saturations and faults. Finally, a finite-time fault-tolerant control scheme that guarantees both transient and steady-state performances (e.g., the maximum overshoot, steady-state error, and settling time) is developed. Abstract: This paper presents a robust fault-tolerant control method for a class of uncertain switched systems with strong structural uncertainties and applied it to haptic display systems. The proposed controller can stabilize the switched systems containing strong uncertainties with actuator faults and its nominal systems (i.e., without actuator faults) without necessarily changing any structures and/or parameters of the proposed controllers, and treats faulty and healthy actuators in a unified way. The proposed method is independent of arbitrary switching laws. A practical haptic display system with switched virtual environments shows the effectiveness of the proposed method. Abstract: Synchronization in classes of continuous-time dynamical unweighted networks with different topologies is investigated. A synchronization-optimal network model based on rewiring of links is proposed. Compared with other networks, it exhibits a stronger synchronizability. We presented link density and investigated the correlation of synchronizability, link density and heterogeneity in degree distribution. In this work, it will be shown that synchronizability of Type I networks is independent of heterogeneity in the degree distribution when the link density is smaller than 0.02. Synchronizability and link density are proportional. When the link density is larger than 0.025, heterogeneity decides the curve slope. The synchronizability of Type II networks is drastically enhanced by enhancing the link density when the link density is smaller than 0.025. However synchronizability increases weakly by enhancing the link density when the link density is larger than 0.025. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Motion tracking control design of nonholonomic mobile robot systems considering actuator dynamics is addressed in this paper. A trajectory tracking controller is designed at actuator level, which guarantees that the nonholonomic mobile robot tracks a given trajectory. A novel network congestion algorithm is introduced for Transmission Control Protocol/Active Queue Management (TCP/AQM) system in this paper. The established TCP/AQM system is more accurate and general. Moreover, an adaptive congestion controller is designed by virtue of the Barrier Lyapunov Function (BLF), backstepping-like and Neural Networks (NNs) approximation techniques, by which the transient and steady-state performances on the tracking error can be pre-given and other signals of the closed-loop system also are verified to be semi-globally, uniformly and ultimately bounded.
