Abstract The Qinling Mountains in China frequently experience geological disasters, with large‐scale landslides being particularly prominent, causing severe economic losses to the local area. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the geological disaters distribution in the region, we conducted extensive research on the entire Qinling Mountains, covering an area of approximately 380,000 km2. By employing methods such as literature review, data collection, and interpretation of remote sensing images, we have successfully created a database of landslides. The inventory of landslides includes a total of 169,888 large‐scale landslides, covering a combined area of approximately 1575 km2. The average size of these landslides is approximately 92,734 m2. The scale of these landslides varies widely, with the smallest individual landslide covering an area of 166.25 m2 and the largest reaching 12.9 km2. Upon examining areas with frequent landslides, it was observed that landslides are usually densely distributed along riverbanks or within valleys. Landslide development is also dense in areas prone to frequent historical earthquakes. This comprehensive database provides essential data to support the analysis of spatial distribution patterns of large‐scale landslides in the Qinling Mountains. It also facilitates landslide assessments and serves as a reference for the prevention and control of landslide disasters in the area.

Abstract Background Positive self-perception of aging (SPA) is a well-known predictor of longevity, while how and to what extent SPA is linked with all-cause mortality among older adults is still unclear. This study aims to elucidate the relationship between positive SPA and all-cause mortality and its potential mediators among Chinese older adults. Methods This is a 20-year dynamic cohort study conducted among 22,957 older adults aged ≥ 65 years old from a nationally representative sample. Positive SPA was measured using a validated 7-item scale. Potential mediators including health behaviors and social participation were collected using a self-reported questionnaire. Cox proportional hazards regression models were conducted to examine the association between positive SPA and all-cause mortality. A mediation analysis was conducted to determine whether health behaviors and social participation mediated the association between SPA and all-cause mortality. Results Throughout follow-up (median [interquartile range], 46 [21–84] months), all-cause mortality was 87.4%. Compared with older adults with the lowest quartile positive SPA, hazard ratio(HR) of all-cause mortality among older adults with the second, third, and fourth quartile of positive SPA was 0.96(95%CI:0.93-1.00), 0.93(95%CI:0.90–0.99), and 0.92(95%CI:0.87–0.96) respectively after controlling for all potential mediators and covariates. The mediation analysis showed that regular daily vegetable intake, physical activity, and high social participation explained 41.1-48.5% of the variance in the association between positive SPA and all-cause mortality. Conclusions In this cohort study, we found that high positive SPA was associated with decreased all-cause mortality directly, and indirectly through healthy lifestyle behaviors and social participation. These findings suggest that interventions targeted at promoting or maintaining positive SPA may contribute to healthy ageing among older adults in China.

Abstract Background Critically ill patients undergoing liberation often encounter various physiological and clinical complexities and challenges. However, whether the combination of hyperbaric oxygen and in-cabin ventilator therapy could offer a comprehensive approach that may simultaneously address respiratory and potentially improve outcomes in this challenging patient population remain unclear. Methods This retrospective study involved 148 patients experiencing difficulty in liberation after tracheotomy. Inclusion criteria comprised ongoing mechanical ventilation need, lung inflammation on computed tomography (CT) scans, and Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) scores of ≤ 9. Exclusion criteria excluded patients with active bleeding, untreated pneumothorax, cerebrospinal fluid leakage, and a heart rate below 50 beats per minute. Following exclusions, 111 cases were treated with hyperbaric oxygen combined cabin ventilator, of which 72 cases were successfully liberated (SL group) and 28 cases (NSL group) were not successfully liberated. The hyperbaric oxygen chamber group received pressurization to 0.20 MPa (2.0 ATA) for 20 min, followed by 60 min of ventilator oxygen inhalation. Successful liberation was determined by a strict process, including subjective and objective criteria, with a prolonged spontaneous breathing trial. GCS assessments were conducted to evaluate consciousness levels, with scores categorized as normal, mildly impaired, moderately impaired, or severely impaired. Results Patients who underwent treatment exhibited improved GCS, blood gas indicators, and cardiac function indexes. The improvement of GCS, partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2), oxygen saturation of blood (SaO2), oxygenation index (OI) in the SL group was significantly higher than that of the NSL group. However, there was no significant difference in the improvement of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV), left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV), and stroke volume (SV) between the SL group and the NSL group after treatment. Conclusions Hyperbaric oxygen combined with in-cabin ventilator therapy effectively enhances respiratory function, cardiopulmonary function, and various indicators of critically ill patients with liberation difficulty after tracheostomy.

Abstract Background The relationship of testosterone and estradiol concentrations with cognitive function among community-dwelling older men was inconclusive. To examine the association of serum testosterone and estradiol concentrations with cognitive function in older men with or without vascular risk factors (VRFs). Methods This cross-sectional study consisted of 224 community-dwelling men aged 65–90 years in the Songjiang District of Shanghai, China. Serum testosterone and estradiol were measured by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. The following five factors were defined as VRFs in this study: obesity, history of hypertension, diabetes, stroke, and coronary heart disease. Multivariable linear regression was used to examine the association of testosterone and estradiol with the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) in participants with or without VRF. Restricted cubic spline (RCS) regression was performed to account for the nonlinearity of these associations. Results An inverted “U” shaped non-linear relationship was found between testosterone concentration and MMSE score in men with one VRF (P overall =.003, non-linear P =.002). Estradiol showed an inverted “U” shaped non-linear relationship with MMSE score independent of VRFs (men without VRF, P overall =.049, non-linear P =.015; men with one VRF, overall P =.007, non-linear P =.003; men with two or more VRFs, overall P =.009, non-linear P =.005). Conclusion In older men, an optimal level of sex steroid concentration may be beneficial to cognitive function and the VRFs should be considered when interpreting the relationship between sex steroid and cognitive function.

The upper reaches of the Yellow River in China, influenced by erosion of the Yellow River and tectonic activities, are prone to landslides. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the existing landslide traces. Based on visual interpretation on high-resolution satellite images and terrain data, supplemented and validated by existing landslide records, this paper prepared the most complete and detailed landslide traces inventory in Jianzha County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, to date. The results indicate that within the study area of 1714 km2, there are at least 713 landslide traces, ranging in scale from 3,556 m2 to 11.13 km2, with a total area of 134.46 km2. The total landslide area excluding the overlap area is 126.30 km2. The overall landslide point density and area density in the study area are 0.42 km-2 and 7.37% respectively. The maximum point density and maximum area density of landslide traces in the area are as high as 5.69 km-2 and 98.0% respectively. The landslides are primarily distributed in the relatively low-elevation northeastern part of Jianzha County, characterized mainly by large-scale loess landslides, with 14 landslides exceeding 1×106 m2. This inventory not only supplements the landslide trace data in the transition zone between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau, but also provides an important basis for subsequent landslide risk zoning, response to climate change, and landscape evolution. Additionally, it holds significant reference value for compiling landslide inventories in similar geological environments.

Abstract It is important for healthy aging to understand resilience in depth. This study aims to examine the dimensional structure underlying the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) among Chinese older adults. Exploratory Graph Analysis (EGA) was used to evaluate the dimensional structure of CD-RISC in two large samples: training sample (n = 11,493) and cross-validation sample (n = 7662). Then, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to compare the fit of the theoretical dimensions with the EGA dimensions. Finially, Generalized Linear Model was used to examine the association between resilience scores and self-rated health (SRH) after controlling other covariates in order to evaluate the predictive value of the EGA dimensions. The EGA indicated two demensions(named foresight and self-adjustment) of the 25-item CD-RISC. The CFA comparison found that the two-demension structure of CD-RISC fit significantly better than the theoretical three-demension structure. After controlling for sociodemographic characteristics, generalized linear model showed that the EGA dimensions has better protective value with SRH. Compared with older adults with lowest quartile of foresight, those with second (odds ratio, OR = 0.68, 95% CI = 0.62 ~ 0.75), third (OR = 0.50, 95% CI = 0.45 ~ 0.56) and fourth quartile (OR = 0.42, 95% CI = 0.37 ~ 0.48) of foresight had lower odds ratio of poor SRH. Similarly, older adults with the second (OR = 1.11, 95% CI = 1.01 ~ 1.23) and fourth (OR = 0.79, 95% CI = 0.69 ~ 0.90) quartile of self-adjustment also had lower OR of poor SRH than those with lowest quartile of self-adjustment. These findings show that EGA outperforms the traditional methods, which may be helpful to understand resilience deeply. CD-RISC should be interpreted into two aspects among community-dwelling older adults in China, highlighting the significance of the practical value and cultural context of resilience.

Abstract Background Radiotherapy (RT) is frequently adopted to control cancer cell proliferation, which is achieved by altering the tumor microenvironment (TME) and immunogenicity. Apoptosis of cancer cells is the major effect of radiation on tumor tissues. Fas/APO-1(CD95) receptors on the cell membrane are death receptors that can be activated by diverse factors, including radiation and integration with CD95L on CD8+ T cells. The abscopal effect is defined as tumor regression out of the local RT field, and it is produced through anti-tumor immunity. The immune response against the radiated tumor is characterized by the cross-presentation between antigen-presenting cells (APCs), which includes cytotoxic T cells (CTLs) and dendritic cells (DCs). Methods The effect of activation and radiation of CD95 receptors on melanoma cell lines was examined in vivo and in vitro. In vivo, bilateral lower limbs were given a subcutaneous injection of a dual-tumor. Tumors in the right limb were radiated with a single dose of 10 Gy (primary tumor), while tumors in the left limb (secondary tumor) were spared. Results The anti-CD95 treatment plus radiation (combination treatment) reduced growth rates of both primary and secondary tumors relative to the control or radiation groups. In addition, higher degrees of infiltrating CTLs and DCs were detected in the combination treatment compared to the other groups, but the immune response responsible for secondary tumor rejection was not proven to be tumor specific. In vitro, combination treatment combined with radiation resulted in further apoptosis of melanoma cells relative to controls or cells treated with radiation. Conclusions Targeting CD95 on cancer cells will induce tumor control and the abscopal effect.

Abstract Background Little is known about life expectancy (LE) with or without frailty. We aimed to estimate the total LE and duration of the state of frailty in China. Methods This study included older adults aged 65 years and older from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Study (CLHLS). Frailty status was classified into robust, pre-frailty and frailty based on a cumulative deficit model. Total and specific frailty state LEs at 65 years of age were estimated and stratified by demographic characteristics, behaviours, and psychosocial factors using continuous-time multistate modelling. Results The total LE of older adults aged 65 years in China was 14.74 years on average (95% CI: 14.52–14.94), of which 4.18 years (95% CI: 4.05–4.30) were robust, 7.46 years (95% CI: 7.31–7.61) pre-frail and 3.10 years (95% CI: 3.01–3.20) frail. Older adults with higher robust LE included men (4.71 years, 95% CI: 4.56–4.88), married older adults (4.41 years, 95% CI: 4.27–4.56), those engaging in physical activity (4.41 years, 95% CI: 4.23–4.59), those consuming fruits daily (4.48 years, 95% CI: 4.22–4.77) and those with high social participation (4.39 years, 95% CI: 4.26–4.53). Increased educational attainment were gradually associated with increased robust LE. Conclusions Frailty may lead to a reduced total LE and robust LE of older adults in China. In addition to finding inequalities in total and robust LEs by socioeconomic status, our findings also highlight that healthy behaviours and social participation may ease frailty-related reductions in total and robust LE. Our findings imply that national life-course strategies aimed at frailty screening and psychosocial and behavioural interventions could be important for health aging in China.

ObjectivesSarcopenia is well known to be associated with mortality, but there is a lack of evidence on the estimates of life expectancy (LE) for sarcopenia in China. This study aims to estimate total life expectancy (TLE) and sarcopenia-specific LE in community-dwelling older Chinese adults with and without sarcopenia.MethodsThis study included participants aged 60 years and older who enrolled in the cohort in 2011 and 2013 and at least completed one follow-up until 2015 as part of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). The criteria for defining sarcopenia were based on the guidelines established by the Asian Working Group on Sarcopenia in 2019. TLE and sarcopenia-specific LE were estimated for the total population and subgroups using continuous-time multistate modeling.ResultsA total of 6,029 participants (49.2% women) with an average age of 68.4 (SD: 6.56) years were included in the study. The baseline prevalence of sarcopenia and possible sarcopenia was 19.5 and 44.9%, respectively. We observed that sarcopenia stages naturally deteriorated to worse stages (including death, by 24.4%) and returned to better stages (17.1%) during a median follow-up of 3.92 years (IQR: 2.00 ~ 4.00). The average TLE at the age of 60 was 20.9 [95% CI: 20.2–21.5] years (22.1 [95% CI: 19.6–24.6] for non-sarcopenic older adults, 20.9 [95% CI: 19.5–22.3] for possible sarcopenic, and 18.7 [95% CI: 16.4–21.1] for sarcopenic). Men, former and current smokers, and those living in northwest China had less TLE. Sarcopenic older adults, those with lower education, those who are unmarried, those with agriculture hukou, and those living in rural and northwest China were expected to live fewer years with non-sarcopenia. Sarcopenic older people, men, those with agriculture hukou, and those living in rural and southwest China were expected to live more years with sarcopenia.DiscussionThe results improved our understanding of the relationship between sarcopenia and life expectancy. We suggested that targeted strategies should be considered in high-risk populations and underdeveloped regions to prevent sarcopenia and improve non-sarcopenic life years for the older population.

The dissolution of Ti–N solids in liquid titanium was investigated using experimental and numerical methods. To characterize the dissolution rate and the transport phenomena associated with the dissolution process, cylindrical Ti–N rods were immersed into a molten pool of commercially pure titanium produced using an electron beam button furnace. Tests were conducted for various immersion times to observe the evolution in the rod tip profile and measure the volume loss. Generally, the volume fraction of dissolved solid increases with increasing immersion time. A numerical model has been developed to describe the experimental process and aid in understanding the dissolution process. Overall, the predicted volume loss for different immersion times agrees well with the experimental measurements. An effective mass transfer coefficient, in the range of 4.2 × 10−5 to 4.9 × 10−5 m/s, has been derived based on the model results for the experimental conditions examined (e.g. interface velocities and temperatures in the range of 0.09 – 0.11 m/s, and 1766 – 1778 °C, respectively).

In recent years, events of transmission line tripping caused by wildfires have occurred frequently in many mountain areas. In order to understand the mechanism of such events, an experimental system for simulating breakdown discharge processes of model wires induced by a simulated fire source is designed. In this experiment, propane jet flame (somewhat like eruptive fires in real wild fires) is used as a simulated flame source. By setting three different gas flow rates and five different wire-wire gaps, discharge breakdown behaviors and characteristics between two ACSR (aluminum conductors steel reinforced) segments in propane flames with three flame zones are explored. The influences of these different factors on the breakdown characteristics and mechanisms of wire-wire air gaps are analyzed. Results show that breakdown voltages increase almost linearly with the increase of wire-wire gaps in continuous zone of the flames for three gas flow rates. For a short wire-wire gap like 5.0 cm, the pilot discharge channels can be formed more easily, stably and completely under a lower voltage and weaker external ionization environment. The propane jet flame conditions are complex and affected by multiple actions like initial jet force (affected by gas flow rate), temperature distribution, soot particle, ion wind. As a result, local electric field will be distorted, a streamer channel is established dependently in different cases. These factors play individual, competitive or synergistic roles at the same time in breakdowns of real ACSR wire-wire gaps.

IntroductionFunctional ability (FA) and social participation (SP) are important indicators of healthy aging, both their trajectories are heterogeneous. It is little known about how the SP trajectories affects FA trajectories.MethodsFA was assessed by 20 items covering the ability of meeting basic needs and mobility. SP was assessed by frequency of participating in 10 social activities. Group-based trajectory modeling (GBTM) was used to identify the trajectories of FA and SP of the participants.ResultsTwo FA trajectories were identified: low baseline-decline tendency (16.1%) and high baseline-stable tendency (83.9%) trajectories. Two SP trajectories were also identified: low baseline-stable tendency (58.5%) and high baseline-increase tendency (41.5%) trajectories. After controlling for the potential covariates, participants among the high baseline-increase tendency SP trajectory group also had significantly higher odds ratios to be belonged in high baseline-stable tendency FA trajectory group (ORs = 2.64, 95%CI = 1.98–3.05).ConclusionsHigh-increasing social participation had a protective effect to maintain high baseline-stable tendency functional ability among older adults. These findings suggest social participation appears to have great benefits on promoting healthy aging in China.

PurposeResilience is a multidimensional concept determining healthy aging, however, there were limited studies examining the association between frailty and resilience in detail. In this study, we aimed to examine the association of frailty with three dimensions of resilience-strength, optimism, and tenacity among Chinese older adults.MethodsA cross-sectional study was conducted among 10,209 participants who were sampled by three-stage sampling method, from three cities in China from June 2020 to July 2021. The Chinese version of the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) was used to measure resilience's 3 dimensions (strength, optimism and tenacity), which were converted into quartiles for the analysis. Frailty status was measured using the Chinese version of the FRAIL scale, categorized into robustness, pre-frailty and frailty. Multinomial logistic regression was used to examine associations between frailty status with strength, optimism and tenacity.ResultsThe overall proportions of robustness, pre-frailty, and frailty were 42.7, 48.7, and 8.6%, respectively. After controlling for sociodemographic characteristics, self-rated health, and health behaviors, compared with older adults with the lowest quartile of strength, older adults with the second quartile (odds ratio, OR = 0.67, 95% CI: 0.57–0.78), third quartile (OR = 0.60, 95% CI: 0.50–0.72), and fourth quartile (OR = 0.58, 95% CI: 0.46–0.73) of strength had lower ORs for pre-frailty, and who also had lower ORs (0.44, 95% CI: 0.33–0.58; 0.42, 95% CI: 0.30–0.59; 0.34, 95% CI: 0.20–0.56, respectively) for frailty. There were no homogeneous associations between optimism and tenacity with frailty status.ConclusionHigher strength was associated with lower chance of being pre-frail and frail among Chinese older adults. This finding implies that community-based training programs aiming to enhance psychological resilience, especially strength, may contribute to healthy aging. Future studies should examine the effects of resilience on frailty using longitudinal or experimental study designs in cross-cultural contexts.

Nitrogen introduction to solid commercially pure titanium has been carried out at 1650 °C in an electric induction furnace using two different methods. An effective way to avoid the formation of the hard and brittle nitride layer (TiN and Ti2N) is reported. Microstructure and microhardness were examined on the cross-section of the nitrided samples. Multiple phase layers can be observed, and the phases in each layer were identified using X-ray Diffraction. The effects of the experimental conditions such as temperature and nitriding time on the kinetics of nitrogen diffusion were investigated. The nitrogen content within the samples was increased with increasing temperature and nitriding time. Correlations between microhardness and the nitrogen concentration have been developed for the phase(s) present in the core and the outer layers. The diffusion of nitrogen in solid titanium was simulated numerically, and the predicted nitrogen concentration profile in the rods and displacement of Ti–N phase interfaces show good agreement with the experimental observations. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and the numerical simulation results suggest that β phase boundary composition is 2.8 wt. % N, the α phase exists within the compositional range of 5.5–6.5 wt. % and the Ti–N phase within the compositional range 7.0–15.0 wt. %, which differs from data extracted from a published phase diagram.

Background Skin, as a crucial external defense organ, is more vulnerable to oxidative stress (OS) insult, reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated OS in particular. OS results from a redox imbalance caused by various extrinsic stimuli and occurs once the oxidants production overwhelming the antioxidants capacity, through mediating in DNA damage, lipid peroxidation (LPO), protein oxidation and a serial of signaling pathways activation/inactivation, thereby offering favorable conditions for the occurrence and development of numerous diseases especially some dermatoses, e.g. psoriasis, vitiligo, skin photodamage, skin cancer, systemic sclerosis (SSc), chloasma, atopic dermatitis (AD), pemphigus, etc. Targeting OS molecular mechanism, a variety of anti-OS agents emerge, in which flavonoids, natural plant extracts, stand out. Objectives To discuss the possible mechanisms of OS mediating in dermatoses and summarize the properties of flavonoids as well as their applications in OS-related skin disorders. Methods Published papers on flavonoids and OS-related skin diseases were collected and reviewed via database searching on PubMed, MEDLINE and Embase, etc. Results It has been confirmed that flavonoids, belonging to polyphenols, are a class of plant secondary metabolites widely distributed in various plants and possess diverse bioactivities especially their potent antioxidant capacity. Moreover, flavonoids benefit to suppress OS via eliminating free radicals and mediating the corresponding signals, further excellently working in the prevention and management of OS-related skin diseases. Conclusion Flavonoids have the potential therapeutic effects on oxidative stress-related dermatoses. However, more studies on specific mechanism as well as the dosage of flavonoids are needed in future.

PurposeFrailty is an emerging global public health burden. Most existing studies have focused on risk factors for frailty, focusing less on protective factors against frailty. This study aims to examine the association between the sense of coherence (SOC), the most common construct of salutogenesis and frailty status among community-dwelling old adults.MethodA cross-sectional study was conducted among 7,970 old adults aged ≥65 years in three cities in China from June 2019 to October 2020. Frailty was operationalised as the sum of self-reported fatigue, resistance, ambulation, illness, and loss of weight (FRAIL scale). The χ2 test was used to analyse the distribution difference of frailty in demographic, behavioural, and SOC levels. Confounder-adjusted multinomial logistic regression was used to examine the association between SOC and frailty.ResultsThe prevalence of pre-frailty and frailty was 43.1 and 8.0%, respectively. The results of the confounder-adjusted regression showed that older adults with moderate-level SOC (odds ratio, OR: 0.61, 95% CI: 0.54–0.69) and strong-level SOC (OR: 0.55, 0.48–0.64) had lower odds of being pre-frail compared to those with weak SOC. It also showed that older adults with moderate-level SOC (OR: 0.32, 95% CI: 0.27–0.40) and strong-level SOC (OR: 0.22, 95% CI: 0.16–0.29) had lower odds of being frail compared to those with weak SOC.ConclusionSOC may be a protective factor against frailty. Improving SOC may be a strategy to prevent frailty among Chinese community-dwelling older adults.

Because cutaneous melanoma (CM) is one of the most lethal human tumors, major treatment advances are vital. miR-140-3p has been suggested to act as a suppressor in a range of malignant tumors, implying its possible use as a biomarker for effective antineoplastic treatment. However, the potential role of miR-140-3p in CM and the underlying mechanism remain unclear. In the present study, we identified lower levels of miR-140-3p in both CM tissues and cell lines; this downregulation was strongly associated with worse CM survival. Additionally, overexpression of miR-140-3p significantly inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in CM cells with different cell line origins. Importantly, by means of both bioinformatics analysis and luciferase reporter assay, we revealed abhydrolase domain containing 2 (ABHD2) to be a target of miR-140-3p in CM cells. Upregulation of ABHD2 reversed the tumor-suppressive effects of miR-140-3p in CM cells. Furthermore, miR-140-3p-targeted ABHD2 played a role in both activation of JNK signaling and inhibition of the AKT/p70S6K pathway in CM cells. Finally, in vivo results strongly suggested the suppressive effects of miR-140-3p on CM growth and metastasis. Collectively, our findings highlight a novel antineoplastic function for miR-140-3p in CM through ABHD2.

BackgroundThe World Health Organization proposed a multidimensional concept of healthy aging in 2015; there was limited evidence about how the concept was constructed and measured. The current study aims to develop a health aging scale (HAS) following the WHO framework and validate it using data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS).MethodsA total of 13,233 adults aged ≥ 45 years old from the CHARLS included in current study. Based on the WHO framework, 37 self-reported indicators were used to determine healthy aging. Exploratory factor analysis and second-order and bi-factor modeling, as well as psychometric coefficients, were used to examine the structure of healthy aging. To assess concurrent validity of the HAS, regression analyses were used to examine the associations of HAS and its subscales with sociodemographic characteristics, health conditions, healthcare utilization and life satisfaction in Wave 1. The predictive validity of HAS and subscales was assessed by their associations with mortality in Wave 2 follow-up using Cox regressions.ResultsThe general HAS and its five subscales were generated according to bi-factor modeling [CFI = 0.949; TLI = 0.942; SRMSR = 0.030; and RMSEA = 0.033 (95% CI, 0.032–0.034)] and psychometric coefficients (ω = 0.903; ωH = 0.692; ECV = 0.459). The general HAS presented solid evidence of concurrent validity with various sociodemographic characteristics, health conditions, healthcare utilization and life satisfaction; and predictive validity with mortality.ConclusionsThe population-based multidimensional healthy aging scale and its subscales can be used to monitor the trajectories of general healthy aging and its subdomains to support the development of healthy aging policies and interventions.

Objectives: To unveil the role of SIRT1 in limiting oxidative stress in psoriasis and to further discuss the therapeutic prospects of salidroside in psoriasis. Methods: Literature from 2002 to 2019 was searched with “psoriasis”, “oxidative stress”, “SIRT1”, “salidroside” as the key words. Then, Oxidative stress in psoriasis and the role of SIRT1 were summarized and the potential role of salidroside in the disease was speculated. Results: Oxidative stress might contribute to the pathogenesis of psoriasis. High levels of ROS produced during oxidative stress lead to the release of inflammatory mediators, that, in turn, induce angiogenesis and excessive proliferation of keratinocytes. SIRT1 is a member of the sirtuin family, of which the activation lead to the inhibition of such oxidative stress signaling pathways MAPK, NF-κB, and STAT3, down-regulation of inflammatory factors, suppression of inflammation and keratinocyte hyperproliferation, and inhibition of angiogenesis. Salidroside, the main ingredient of Rhodiola, is known to exert antioxidant roles, which has been attributed to SIRT1 activation. Conclusion: Salidroside might inhibit oxidative stress singling pathways via SIRT1 activation, and could be as an ideal candidate for management of psoriasis.

Considering that near-surface scattered waves could not be suppressed by conventional denoise method, this paper analyzes the characteristics of scattered waves and achieves the near-surface scattered wave separation by the seismic interferometry theory. Seismic data in mountain area is generally characterized by low signal to noise ratio, weak effective wave energy and strong near-surface scattered wave energy, so the near-surface seismic scattered waves must be firstly separated to improve the signal to noise ratio of seismic data during seismic data processing. The events of the near-surface seismic scattered wave in the adjacent common shot gathers are parallel. According to the near-surface scattered wave kinematics, the seismic interferometry method is used to eliminate the influence of seismic wave propagation in the same path, coherently enhance near-surface scattered waves, and then separate them from original seismic records. Taking the seismic data in mountain area in west China as an example, the energy of near-surface scattered wave is enhanced by direct wave field and full wave field seismic interferometry to separate the waves. As a result, the seismic data after processing generally eliminates near-surface scattered waves, verifying the validity and feasibility of the near-surface seismic scattered wave separation method. We present a fuzzy version of the Garman-Kohlhagen (FG-K) formula for pricing European currency option based on the extension principle. In order to keep consistent with the real market, we assume that the interest rate, the spot exchange rate, and the volatility are fuzzy numbers in the FG-K formula. The conditions of a basic proposition about the fuzzy-valued functions of fuzzy subsets are modified. Based on the modified conditions and the extension principle, we prove that the fuzzy price obtained from the FG-K formula for European currency option is a fuzzy number. To simplify the trade, the weighted possibilistic mean (WPM) value with a weighting function is adopted to defuzzify the fuzzy price to a crisp price. The numerical example shows our method makes the α-level set of fuzzy price smaller, which decreases the fuzziness. The example also indicates that the WPM value has different approximation effects to real market price by taking different values of weighting parameter in the weighting function. Inspired by this example, we provide a method, which can identify the optimal parameter.

Sexual reproduction requires the choreographed interaction of female cells and molecules with sperm and seminal fluid. In internally fertilizing animals, these interactions are managed by specialized tissues within the female reproductive tract (FRT), such as a uterus, glands, and sperm storage organs. However, female somatic reproductive tissues remain understudied, hindering insight into the molecular interactions that support fertility. Here, we report the identification, molecular characterization, and analysis of cell types throughout the somatic FRT in the premier Drosophila melanogaster model system. We find that the uterine epithelia is composed of 11 distinct cell types with well-delineated spatial domains, likely corresponding to functionally specialized surfaces that interact with gametes and reproductive fluids. Polyploidy is pervasive: More than half of lower reproductive tract cells are =4C. While seminal fluid proteins (SFPs) are typically thought of as male products that are transferred to females, we find that specialized cell types in the sperm storage organs heavily invest in expressing SFP genes. Rates of amino acid divergence between closely related species indicate heterogeneous evolutionary processes acting on male-limited versus female-expressed seminal fluid genes. Together, our results emphasize that more than 40% of annotated seminal fluid genes are better described as shared components of reproductive transcriptomes, which may function cooperatively to support spermatozoa. More broadly, our work provides the molecular foundation for improved technologies to catalyze the functional characterization of the FRT. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
