In this study, the activity of oxidative stress parameters superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), glutathione reductase (GR), and glutathione S-transferase (GST), as well as the concentrations of vitamin E (Vit E) and SH groups in the digestive glands and gills of freshwater mussels Unio pictorum and Sinanodonta woodiana from the Sava River in Serbia were investigated. These parameters were determined in native and invasive mussels under the same environmental conditions. The activities of GSH-Px and GR and the concentration of Vit E were significantly higher in the digestive glands of the autochthonous species U. pictorum than in the invasive species S. woodiana, while the CAT activity and the concentration of SH groups were lower. In the gills of U. pictorum, GSH-Px activity and Vit E concentration were significantly higher, while CAT, GST, and SH groups were lower. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed that oxidative stress parameters were strictly tissue- and species-specific. In addition, integrated biomarker response (IBR) showed a combined response of enzymatic and non-enzymatic oxidative stress parameters depending on the tissue or species studied, indicating different metabolic activities and behaviors of an autochthonous versus an introduced bivalve species. - Abstract
Anthropogenic pollution poses a major threat to aquatic ecosystems, which can lead to their degradation. The accumulation and toxicity of metals and trace elements in fish leads to physiological and chemical changes in the fish body. In this study, we investigated the effects of bioaccumulation of metals and trace elements on freshwater fish fatty acid profiles at two different sites before and after the discharge of untreated municipal wastewater in two fish species with different diet habits. Although the concentrations of toxic elements were below the maximum levels proposed by the EU and the Republic of Serbia, this study showed statistically significant correlations between the presence of certain elements and the fatty acid (FA) profile in fish muscle. Lower concentrations of polyunsaturated FA in fish sampled after the discharge of untreated municipal wastewater were detected., In this study, the concentrations of metals and trace elements (As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb and Zn) were determined in the muscle tissue of adult roach and white bream at two different sites in the Belgrade section of the Danube. Twenty-six fatty acids, consisting of nine saturated FA (SFAs), seven monosaturated FA (MUFAs) and ten polysaturated FA (PUFAs), were identified. The analysis of the concentration of metals and trace elements of the roach and white bream showed species-specific differences in their bioaccumulation. Four of all elements analyzed (As, Hg, Ni and Pb) correlated significantly with the changes in FA profiles in fish from both sampling sites, with the exception of Cu, which correlated with the FA profile at the site before, and Zn, whose concentration influenced the FA profile at the site after wastewater discharges. The lower PUFA content in the fish from a site under higher environment pressure could indicate that the fish are stressed. The results suggest that changes in lipid composition may be one of the protective mechanisms of cells to cope with anthropogenic stressors.

The development of nonlethal methods for the monitoring of environmental contamination is essential to minimize the negative effects on studied species and communities. Fish scales and fin clips can be used as nonlethal indicators of water quality given that they are in direct contact with the environment and can accumulate high concentrations of metals and trace elements. Fin clipping causes minimal harm to fish and it does not affect fish growth or survival. In this study, As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Se, and Zn concentrations were measured by inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in scales, fins, and muscle of common bream (Abramis brama), white bream (Blicca bjoerkna), wels catfish (Silurus glanis), northern pike (Esox lucius), and pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) from the Danube River. The analysis showed a positive correlation for Hg between scales and muscle in pikeperch. Anal fin and muscle were positively correlated in white bream for Hg, in wels catfish for Cu, and in northern pike and pikeperch for As. The results suggest that scales and fins have a potential to be used as indicators of muscle tissue contamination with As, Cu, and Hg, depending on species' ecological traits.

In this paper author analyses legal nature of relationship between arbitrator and parties as well as the source of arbitrator's rights and duties. In comparative law there are two opinions about that subject: the first is that the role of the arbitrator is regulated by the law and that his rights and duties are the matter of the status of arbitrator. The second opinion, however, points out that that relation is regulated by a special contract - receptum arbitri, which arbitrator and parties conclude with one another. In contemporary law the second view prevails and that opinion is supported in this article. The analysis of the relationship between the arbitration agreement and receptum arbitri, the legal nature of the receptum arbitri, rights and duties of the contracting parties and legal remedies in case of breach of the contract clearly points to the specifics of receptum arbitri. In conclusion author claims that those specifics are necessary in order to fulfil the main goal of the arbitration proceedings which is to obtain arbitration decision legally binding as the final court decision.

The article focuses on legal insecurity under different forms of real estate lease contracts, present in contemporary Serbian law. Applying dogmatic and comparative legal methods, the authors explore the characteristics of domestic legal regime of real estate lease contracts, with special emphasis on possible application of rules of other nominate contracts to real estate lease contracts. In contemporary Serbian law only real estate financial leases are regulated, while other forms of real estate leases are not. Potential problems stemming from insufficient regulation are also evidenced in court decisions related to disputes originating from one of the innominate forms of real estate leases in Serbia. The analysis of these decisions points to issues causing legal insecurity under real estate lease contracts, which could be overcome through adequate amendments and supplements to the regulations. In this article, the authors propose specific solutions for regulating real estate lease contracts de lege ferenda, which the authors conclude are the best approach for overcoming the existing shortcomings.

sale of goods ,breach of contract ,vienna convention ,the general ground for termination the contract due to its non-performance ,concept of fundamental breach of contract ,Law of Europe ,KJ-KKZ ,Comparative law. International uniform law ,K520-5582 - Abstract
When contracting party fails to perform the contract for the international sale of goods, then the other party can use certain remedies, including the right to terminate the contract. The termination of the contract in situation when the debtor has breached his contractual obligation opposes the principle pacta sunt servanda and all legal systems provide for the conditions and limitations under which creditor can acquire and realize that right. The most important limitation in that sense refers to the requirement that the breach of contract must be serious and severe. The Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods in this respect provides for the concept of fundamental breach of contract, as the general ground for termination the contract due to it's non-performance. General because it takes no account what exactly debtor do or not do when violated the contract; it is only important that his actions fits with the conditions for qualification the fundamental breach of contract. In that sense the Convention sets three criteria for estimate that question: first, that the debtor has breached the contract; second, it has resulted in such detriment to the other party as substantially deprives him of what he is entitled to expect under the contract and third, the debtor did not foresee such a damage as a consequence of breach of contract nor such a result could forese a reasonable person of the same kind in the same circumstances. The concept of fundamental breach of contract is the original solution of the Vienna Convention and is the result of decades of work on the unification of the law of the international sale of goods. The most important achievement of such solution is that it introduced applicable objective criteria and standards for the evaluation of the significance and severity of the breach of the contract which are sufficient to activate the creditor's right to terminate it. Several decades of successful implementation of the Convention contributed to the developing of that concept in practice and to its increasingly application not only in other international sources of law for the contract of sale of goods, but also in significant number of national laws. On that way legal systems harmonize over time in relation to this question, which contributes to the simplification of trading on the international market and to economic development and prosperity.

Trade secrets have an increasing importance today and courts are more and more facing with claims for their protection. In those proceedings it is necessary to determinate whether the information for which protection is required is appropriate to be qualified as trade secret and whether the trade secret owner made reasonable efforts to ensure their secrecy. The first section of this article analyses those questions and pays special attention to the criteria for estimate of taken protection measures. The next section presents the system of legal protection of trade secret in EU law, which is regulated by the relevant Directive and which is binding on all Member States and on candidate countries to join the EU. In the conclusion recommendations are given on how to determine the boundary between trade secrets and knowledge and skills of employees.

- Abstract
The Medjuvrsje reservoir is a highly modified water body on the Zapadna Morava River by the construction of a hydroelectric power plant. According to the national regulation it belongs to type 2 watercourses, i.e. large rivers with mineral substrates of medium grain size. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of the Medjuvrsje reservoir using bioindicative properties of benthic macroinvertebrates, taking into consideration their community composition. Macrozoobenthos were collected from two sites in the littoral zone of the reservoir using a standard hand net following the standard methodology (EN 27828). Specimens were sorted and identified under a stereo microscope using the appropriate identification keys. Assessment of the reservoir's ecological potential was carried out based on the class boundaries for Type 2 rivers using several biotic parameters calculated from AQEM (2002). The representatives of Oligochaeta, Mollusca, Odonata and Chironomidae were most abundant in the benthic community. The larval stages of the insects Ephemeroptera, Heteroptera, Coleoptera and Trichoptera were recorded only from the microhabitats with abundant macrophyte vegetation. Within this study, we also recorded the first finding of a freshwater sponge for this type of water body. Based on the macrozoobenthos composition and according to analyzed indices (saprobic index Zelinka & Marvan, BMWP and ASPT score, Diversity index Shannon-Weaner, Total number of taxa, share of Oligochaeta-Tubificidae) the ecological potential was assessed as good (II class of Water quality). However, when the EPT index was considered, the status deteriorated to IV (site 1) or V class (site 2) as poor or bad status.

The concentrations of As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Se and Zn in the muscle, gills, liver and intestine of the wels catfish (Silurus glanis) from the Danube River were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The aim of the study was to determine whether in complex muscle/skin, gill filament/gill arch, proximal/distal liver and proximal/median/distal intestine samples, particular components differ in concentrations of the analyzed elements. Results indicated that there were no differences in the accumulation of different elements between the proximal and distal liver segments and between the proximal and median intestine sections. Conversely, elemental accumulation patterns in muscle and skin differed significantly. Significant differences were also observed between the gill arch and filaments, as well as between the distal and the two upper intestine sections. Findings indicated the importance of detailed reporting of tissue sampling, i.e. whether the skin was included in the muscle sample, as well as if the gill arch and filaments were analyzed together. Due to a potential bias that can be produced by different muscle/skin or gill arch/filament ratios included in the sample, we strongly recommend that they should not be analyzed together. Results of the present study might be of interest to the scientific community and stakeholders involved in aquatic ecosystem monitoring programs. [Projekat Ministarstva nauke Republike Srbije, br. contract of sale of goods ,goods with material defects ,notice of the buyer ,responsibility of the seller ,legal remedies ,Economics as a science ,HB71-74 - Abstract
When the seller, in the sales contracts, delivers the goods with material deficiencies than the buyer will be entitled to use certain legal remedies against him. No legal system today questions this right of the buyer, but neither are the same legal remedies available to him everywhere, nor are the conditions under which they can be used the same. Substantial differences on this issue are noted between continental laws and common laws, but even the legal systems belonging to the same group do not have identical rules about them. That, to a significant extent, may be explained by the fact that the development path of the seller's responsibility for material defects in comparative law was not the same and for that reason an overview of that issue is given at the beginning of this paper. This is followed by the author's analysis of the buyer's notification on the defects of the goods as a condition for the seller's liability for material defects, and then the differences between systems of legal remedies of the buyer in continental and common laws are given, as well as solutions in several characteristic national laws within each group of laws. Rules of the Vienna Convention on contracts for the international sale of goods are exposed as a separate issue, keeping in mind their importance which is, above all, reflected in their impact on changes in national legislation in this area of law. In the conclusion it is noted that these changes flow toward the harmonization of the laws of the sale of goods, which facilitates trade and promotes economic prosperity.

- Abstract
Discharges of wastewater, enriched with inorganic and organic chemicals, may induce pollution of the aquatic environment and thus affect biological communities. The main problem considering pollution of the Danube River in Belgrade represents the discharges of wastewaters without any previous treatment. This study aims to assess the distribution of pollutants (metals and trace elements, PCBs and pesticides) in the tissues of two commercial fish species (common bream and pike-perch) belonging to the different trophic levels. The metal and trace element concentrations were assessed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) while organochlorine pesticides (PCBs and pesticides) were assessed by gas chromatography with electron capture detectors (GC-ECD). Detected As, Cd, Pb and Hg concentrations in the fish muscle were below the maximum allowed concentrations (MAC) established by both the EU and the Republic of Serbia. Gills significantly differ in the concentrations of the most assessed metals and trace elements while liver differs among species in concentrations of As, Cd, Hg and Zn. Detected ndl PCB and pesticides concentrations in both analyzed species were below MAC established by both the EU and the Republic of Serbia. Statistical analysis revealed no significant differences in ndl PCB and pesticides concentrations among analyzed species. In this study it was shown that high position in the food chain doesn’t indicate higher tissue contamination, even though arsenic, cadmium, mercury and iron were in higher concentrations in liver and gills of pike-perch.

Great cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) are piscivorous birds, and as apex predators they accumulate high levels of contaminants from the aquatic ecosystems. In the present study, we analyzed distribution of Al, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sr, and Zn in ten tissues (muscle, liver, kidney, spleen, gizzard, heart, skin, lard, breast feathers, and remiges) of the Great cormorants in the Marin Sprud locality, the Danube River, Serbia. Concentrations of elements in tissues were assessed by using inductively coupled plasma optical spectrometry. Linear discriminant analysis indicates that breast feathers and remiges have a high bioaccumulation potential for heavy metals (Cr, Pb, Sr, and Zn). Those tissues had the highest concentrations of lead (Pb) (2.179 ± 0.742; 0628 ± 0.282). Maximum concentrations of mercury (Hg) were detected in liver (30.673 ± 14.081), followed by kidney, for the same element (17.409 ± 5.676), respectively. The overall maximum metal accumulation was observed in breast feathers and remiges, followed by liver and kidney, whereas the minimum values were observed in muscle, skin, and lard. The greatest concentrations of Cr, Ni, Pb, Sr, Zn, and Al were detected in feather tissues. Our study confirms that great cormorant is a good indicator species for monitoring of pollution of river and wetland ecosystems.

Aquatic ecosystems are today globally endangered;thus, in order to ensure sustainable water resources management, it is necessary to establish continuous monitoring of their quality. Considering that fish are situated at the top of the food chain and used for human nutrition, it makes them important for the assessment of contamination of aquatic ecosystems with toxic substances. In scope of this dissertation, the estimation of the distribution of different pollutants was carried out at three localities on the Danube: Batajnica, Veliko Ratno Ostrvo, and Grocka, in the period from November 2012 to March 2014. Based on the analysis of abundance and mass fraction of individual species in the total catch, as well as their biological and ecological characteristics, the optimal indicator species for this study were determined, and accordingly the following species were used northern pike, freshwater bream, white bream, wels catfish, and pike-perch. The distribution of 11 elements wasassessed in the wels catfish tissue samples by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS), as well as their concentrations in different segments of muscles, gills, liver, and intestine, in order to determine the potential for the use of these tissues in monitoring fish populations. The potential relationship of metal and trace element concentrations in the muscle and their concentrations in scales and anal fins was assessed in northern pike, freshwater bream, white bream, wels catfish and pike-perch in order to develop non-invasive methods for monitoring the quality of fish meat. Using the gas chromatography with electron capture detector(GC-ECD), concentrations of organochlorine pollutants (polychlorinated biphenyls and pesticides) in freshwater bream and pike-perch were determined. Histopathological changes were assessed in gills and liver of freshwater bream and pike-perch in order to determine the potential for using histological analyses in the development of methods for monitoring fish populations...

- Abstract
The Danube River basin represents a hotspot for the European freshwater diversity. The Danube in Serbia is characterized by a significant level of fish diversity, as well as by economically important fish resources. However, the Danube fish fauna is facing a number of adverse anthropogenic impacts, such as unsustainable fishery, habitat loss and fragmentation, water pollution and non-native species invasions. In this chapter, the major adverse impacts on the Danube fish communities in Serbia are presented, and the critical management measures are discussed, such as those related to supportive stocking and other conservation efforts. In order to ensure adequate protection and sustainable management of fish resources in the Danube in Serbia, it will be critical to introduce effective monitoring system, to establish and enforce adequate management measures, and to intensify research efforts on critical issues related to fish management and conservation.

Using the gas chromatography with electron capture detector(GC-ECD), concentrations of organochlorine pollutants (polychlorinated biphenyls and pesticides) in freshwater bream and pike-perch were determined. Histopathological changes were assessed in gills and liver of freshwater bream and pike-perch in order to determine the potential for using histological analyses in the development of methods for monitoring fish populations. The results indicated a high level of differential accumulation of elements among the analyzed tissues in wels catfish. The highest overall accumulation level was observed in vertebra, kidneys, and liver, while minimal values were observed in gallbladder, muscle, brain, and swim bladder. The accumulation of elements in the muscle and skin, as well as in the gill filaments and gill arch, differed significantly among most elements, while between the two examined parts of the liver, proximal and distal, there were no differences in concentrations of the analyzed elements. The same accumulation level was observed in the proximal and medial segments of the intestine, while both segments had significantly higher concentrations of Co and Zn and lower Mn concentration in comparison with the distal segment. There were no significant correlations between muscle and scales in element concentrations in all investigated species, which indicates that the method of using scales is inadequate for assessing muscle contamination with these elements, but that it can be used as an early warning method for assessing overall tissue contamination. Concentrations of organochlorine contaminants were below the prescribed maximum allowed levels. While the accumulation of organochlorine compounds is affected by both the position of the fish in the food chain and the lipid content, no differences in concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls and pesticides between the freshwater bream and pike-perch were observed in this study. Histopathological analysis revealed higher average histological scores in the gills of freshwater bream, which was expected, given that the gills are in constant contact with the substances found in the surrounding water, which makes them good indicators of fish exposure to pollutants in water. The total histopathological index of the liver did not differ significantly between species.

- Abstract
Concentrations of As, Cr, Fe, Hg, Mn, Se and Zn were assessed by ICP-OES in muscle, gills, liver and gonads of ruffe and European perch of different age classes. Fish were caughtwith portablefish nets at the confluence of the Danube river and the Sava River, in Belgrade. Age-related differences in element concentration were assessed by ANOVA and Tukeys (HSD) tests. In ruffe, liver is the main tissue for accumulation of Cu, Fe and Se in all age classes. Gills are the main tissue for accumalation of Mn, while gonads had a higher concentrations of all elements in liver (exept for Cr), while individuals aged 4+ had the highest element concentration in gonads (again, with the exception of Cr). However, these age-related differences in ruffe were not statistically significant. In European perch, the highest concentrations of As, Cu, Fe, Se and Zn in majority of age classes were found in the liver. Individuals aged 1+ and 2+ had the highest concentration of Hg in gills. In subsequent age classes, muscle was the main tissue for accumulation of this element. Contrary to ruffe, age-related differences were observed for Se in liver, where age classes 4+ and 5+ had higher concentrations than age-class 1+, as well as for Zn in gonads, where age classes 4+ and 5+ had higher concentrations than age-class 1+, as well as for zn in gonads, where age class 1+ had higher concentration than age class 3+.

- Abstract

- Abstract
Heavy metals have high potential to enter and accumulate in food chains and therefore are considered as critical contaminants of aquatic ecosystems (Erdoğrul and Erbilir 2007). Given that fish are situated at the top of the food chain they can accumulate large amount of heavy metals (Yilmaz et al. 2007). Heavy metals are taken up through different organs of the fish because of the affinity between them, and then are concentrated at different levels in different organs of the body (Bervoets et al. 2001). Accumulation of heavy metals in muscle tissues was the most studied, given that muscle tissue is the main fish part that is consumed by humans (Begum et al. 2013; Storelli et al. 2006). However, it is important to analyze other tissues since muscles are not always a good indicator of the whole fish body contamination (Has-Schön et al. 2006). The Danube River is the second longest river in Europe and runs through Serbia at a length of 587.4 km. The biggest industrial capacities are largely located on the Danube river banks - Belgrade, Novi Sad, Pančevo and Smederevo (Petrović 2015). The main problem is that none of them has any kind of system for treating municipal wastewaters (Veljković 2005). Within this study, published articles regarding heavy metal accumulation in different tissues of fish in the Danube in Serbia were analyzed in order to evaluate which species, tissues and elements were the most represented in the analyses. The main aim was to assess present practices in research of heavy metal pollution in this region, as well as to identify key gaps regarding the particular river sections, types of pollutants, tissues, and trophic and functional groups of fish communities that were inadequately represented in research.

Termination of the contract is a remedy that affects the contract on the hardest way and it is allowed, subject to certain limitations and conditions, in the legal regime of the Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The most important requirement that must be fulfilled for the creditor to gain this right is that the debtor breached the contract so seriously and severely that his actions fit into the concept of fundamental breach of contract. This general rule applies to all breaches of contract, but the termination of contract can be achieved in certain cases independently of the concept of fundamental breach of contract. Within context of specific subtitles in this work the conditions for termination the contract are specified and analyzed in situation where that right acquires the buyer, because of the seller's breach of his characteristic contractual obligations, and when that right is acquired by the seller, on the basis of typical breach of contract by the buyer. In conclusion, it is noted that it is in the creditor's interest that, before deciding to begin with the procedure of realization of termination the contract, analyze the existing situation in detailed manner and comprehensively because he cannot always be sure that he will be able to finish that procedure successfully.

- Abstract
The cooling time in the temperature range of 800 - 500° C (t8/5) has a major impact on the structures that are formed in the heat affected zone of steel welded joints. Data on the optimum cooling time t8/5 for a particular steels can be found in the literature. Besides the shape of welded joint, the thickness and physical characteristics of the welded steel, welding process and parameters, such as amperage, voltage, welding speed and the preheating temperature also have the impact on the size of the cooling time t8 / 5. During the calculation of the actual value of the cooling time t8/5, which is obtained during the welding of the particular joint, as a rule, the assumption is that the amperage, voltage and welding speed on each section of the joint are equal to the average for the whole joint and that the temperature of the edges of the groove along the entire length are equal to the preheating temperature or inter pass temperature. Measuring of amperage and voltage during welding of a multi-pass butt - welded joint at the high strength steel, using the MIG process are presented in this paper. Results of the measurement showed that the values of the amperage may differ significantly in certain sections of the weld, the average amperage in one part of the weld may be significantly different from the average value of the amperage in the second part of the same weld, and that both may be different from the average value of amperage for the entire weld. The influence of the changes in welding amperage on the amount of heat input and the size of cooling time t8/5 was analysed using numerical methods. It was concluded that, at certain sections of some of the weld, cooling time t8/5 goes beyond the given values, although the average values of the cooling time t8 / 5 for these welds are within the given values.

Occurrence of perforation (leaks) on pipeline in Zajecar brewery was examined. Perforation of stainless steel tubes (AISI 304L) came from the bottom of the tube, near the welds. Causes of corrosion damage to the pipes were analyzed. The presence of the free iron on the inner surface of the pipe was tested by ferroxyl method. The tensile properties of the stainless steel were determined. The large number of inclusions and voids in the structure of stainless steel was revealed by metallographic examination. The increased presence of pores and inclusions in the stainless steel structure did not significantly affect its tensile properties. Near the weld, pitting corrosion occurred due to the retention of electrolyte in the pores. This phenomenon was found in regions of inclusions and defects present on the surface of the metal pipe. Progress of corrosion in the pits, increase in acidity of the solution and progress of pitting corrosion in depth, resulted in perforation of the stainless steel tube.

After the occurrence of water droplets on the manhole outer wall of a storage tank for carbon dioxide, by detailed inspection, a net of cracks is detected in the manhole flange, close to the welded joint between the flange and manhole mantle. Since the droplets are found on the outer side, it is concluded that the through cracks are in question. The analysis of the number and the size of cracks, form and dimensions of manhole cracked segment, the properties of the applied material and stress state has lead to the conclusion that operational safety of the tank is endangered. In order to solve the problem, the damaged zone had to be eliminated and the shape of the manhole neck needed to be redesigned. After performed repairs, the storage tank could be put into operation again.

- Abstract
Primenom postupka prikazanom u standardu BSI PD 6493 'Uputstvo za ocenu prihvatljivosti grešaka u zavarenim konstrukcijama', ocenjen je uticaj ovih mikroprslina na integritet zavarenih spojeva novih priključaka i time i na integritet rezervoara., During the exploitation of tanks used for storing liquid carbon dioxide there was a need to install two new connectors on one of the lids. The tank is made of micro-alloyed steel and its connectors are made of high-alloyed austenite steel. The same welding technology and added materials are used for both the tank and connectors. Non-destructive testing methods of welded joints in new connectors revealed microcracks in the heat-affected zone of micro-alloyed steel. By applying the procedure given in standard BSI PD 6493 'Manual for assessment of acceptability of flaws in welded structures', it is possible to estimate the effect of these microcracks on the integrity of welded joints in new connectors, and therefore their effect on the integrity of the tank.

- Abstract
Nakon obavljenih popravki, posuda za skladištenje je ponovo puštena u rad., After the occurrence of water droplets on the manhole outer wall of a storage tank for carbon dioxide, by detailed inspection, a net of cracks is detected in the manhole flange, close to the welded joint between the flange and manhole mantle.

FISHERIES ,LIFE history theory ,BIOINDICATORS ,WATERSHEDS ,FISH eggs ,GOVERNMENT policy - Abstract
Fishery in the Danube River basin has been characterised over the past century by increasing fishing levels, illegal fishing practices and poor regulations. However, there is a remarkable lack of available information on the actual status of fish stocks, as well as on the trends and sustainability of fisheries, which poses a problem for the development of adequate policy and management measures. In this study, we assessed the trends in the commercial fishery in the Middle Danube in Serbia during 1969-1989 and 2006-2010 by evaluating the temporal changes in life history-related indicators that might point out unsustainable fishing pressures. Moreover, we present the approach of using the catch-weighted mean egg-per-recruit ( EPR) index as a proxy for the overall resilience of fish stocks to fishing. Results indicated a marked shift towards smaller fish that mature earlier and have a shorter lifespan. Landings also shifted towards species at lower trophic levels, with a mean trophic level decline at a rate of approximately 0.16 per decade. Results indicated likely presence of the 'fishing through the food web' phenomenon. At the same time, catch-weighted community mean of the 20% EPR threshold ratio (EPR
20% ) increased by 4.2%, indicating the increase of the overall resilience to fishing of the exploited species. Obtained results indicated the importance of using such metrics for the assessments of trends in fishery. The approach and results presented here could be of interest for the scientific community and stakeholders involved in fishery management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

HEAVY metals & the environment ,METALS & the environment ,SILURUS glanis ,AGRICULTURAL chemicals ,TRACE elements - Abstract
Studies of metal accumulation in fish are mainly focused on the muscle tissue, while the metal accumulation patterns in other tissues have been largely neglected. Muscle is not always a good indicator of the whole fish body contamination. Elemental accumulation in many fish tissues and organs and their potential use in monitoring programs have not received proper attention. In the present study, As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Se, and Zn concentrations were assessed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in the following 14 tissues of the wels catfish ( Silurus glanis) from the Danube River: muscle, gills, spleen, liver, kidneys, intestine, gizzard, heart, brain, gallbladder, swim bladder, vertebra, operculum, and gonads. A high level of differential elemental accumulation among the studied tissues was observed. The maximum overall metal accumulation was observed in the vertebra, followed by the kidneys and liver, with the metal pollution index (MPI) values of 0.26, 0.25, and 0.24, respectively. The minimum values were observed in the gallbladder, muscle, brain, and swim bladder, with MPI values of 0.03, 0.06, 0.07, and 0.09, respectively. Average metal concentrations in the fish muscle were below the maximum allowed concentrations for human consumption. The mean As, Cd, Pb, Cu, Fe, and Zn concentrations in the muscle were 0.028, 0.001, 0.001, 0.192, 3.966, and 3.969 μg/g wet weight, respectively. We believe that the presented findings could be of interest for the scientific community and freshwater ecosystem managers. There is a need for further research that would assess less studied tissues in different fish species. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
