A total of 74 clinical samples Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) were collected from patients diagnosed with prostate cancer (PCa) aged between 41 and 90 years and these samples were obtained from patients treated at notable medical institutions like Al-Sadr Medical City and leading clinical laboratories in Al-Najaf City, Iraq, during the period of January to December 2023. The current study indicated the potential role of the JCV virus in provoking prostatitis, which may lead to the emergence and development of prostate cancer in males compared to males who do not suffer from viral infection. The present study showed the presence of JCV virus DNA, as the percentage of positive samples reached (11, 14.864%) compared to negative samples (63, 85.135%). The current study showed a significant increase in the level of ICAM-2 biomarker in patients with JCV-positive prostate cancer, reaching (818.500±42.748 pg/ml) compared with patients with JCV-negative, reaching (502.925±58.037 pg/ml). Neprilysin (NEP) levels in the current study were significantly high in for JCV-positive patients and those with prostate cancer, reaching (4.275±0.376 pg/ml) compared with JCV-negative patients, reaching (3.131±0.232 pg/ml).

Prostate cancer is considered a common malignant tumor in males, and studies are still investigating the possible relationship of the appearance of this disease with other factors, including viral infections, which were investigated in the current study in search of possible links between the presence of human BK oncolytic viruses (BKV). There are several viruses considered to be ecologically problematic, including COVID-19.The samples were collected from persons with middle and severe cases of patients with COVID-19 as well as other samples from patients who were appeared symptoms or recovered from infection of coronavirus, where the number of cases 100 and measured levels of cytokines in the serum of patients as IL-6, IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), estimated by immune assay called enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Where serum level of TNF-α in persons not illustrated a significant difference in all groups, while the interleukin 6 in severe and middle case groups of COVID-19 was high significantly compared with normal and recovered cases groups of COVID-19. Also, the concentration of interleukin 8 was low in the serum of patients infected by a coronavirus in the cases of severe and middle respectively compared with normal cases and recovered cases that healing from coronavirus infection which maybe gives a prediction for disease COVID-19, also showing different concentrations of cytokines in cases of the COVID-19 group than the normal group that may belong to several mechanisms of immunoregulatory detected in cases of COVID-19 pathogenesis.

This study was aimed to biosynthesized silver nanoparticles by Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria and its antimicrobial activity against (S.aureus ,P. aeruginosa, E.coli, and C. albicans yeast) at different concentrations (20, 40, 60 ,80 and 100) μg/ml by agar well diffusion assay. Fifty sample was collected from Wounds and burns, from Baghdad Teaching City Medicine Laboratories. Samples identified by culture, VITEK 2 Compact system ID-YST kit. The sensitivity of bacterial isolates to antibiotics ware tested and the microbes were more sensitive, resistant and moderate range to antibiotics. Several techniques where used to characterize AgNPs: X-ray Diffraction (XRD), UV–Visible Spectroscopy(UV) and Scanning electron microscope (SEM).The results show that biosynthesized silver nanoparticles are more effective than bacterial supernatant on human pathogenic microbes.

Titanium (Ti) and its alloys are frequently employed in the biomedical industry because they have a high corrosion resistance in addition to being lightweight, non-toxic, and having excellent biocompatibility. In this work, the microstructure and some required properties were evaluated for binary Ti-15Zr alloy produced by powder metallurgy (PM) for biomedical applications; the obtained results were also compared to that of commercially pure Ti (CP-Ti). Brucella is one of the pathogens that spread globally, these bacteria are transmitted by livestock and their products, and their infections are chronic infections due to the presence of many virulence factors of this bacteria that protect these bacteria from the body's defenses and immunity, and from this endotoxin (Lipopolysaccharide) as well as the secretion of various enzymes like Urease, Superoxide dismutase, and Catalase. Brucellosis leads to greater growth of lymph nodes, liver, and spleen. Brucella's pathogenicity relies on its capacity to replicate, live inside the macrophages and virulence factors. This study aims to realization the conceivable therapeutic of melatonin effects experimental against Enterobius vermicularis in rats. Implement this experiment during the period from August 2019 to January 2020. E.vermicularis infected with male wistar rats orally with dose 15mg/kg melatonin former of body weight for 30 day showed significantly reduction in the number of eggs and worms compared with rats orally with dose 15mg/kg melatonin accompanying and untreated rats for 30 day (P < 0.05).Histologically in intestine examined show increase numbers of leucocytes produce, necrosis significant scatter and reduction this parasite of tissue in rats treated with melatonin. This research aimed to study effect of Clarithromycin drug on Cryptosporidium Parvum and efficiency of ELISA technique in diagnosis comparison with some traditional methods in vitro. Samples collected from four different sources water were 400 liters:100 liters tap water provider by Al-Kufa District River,100 liters house tank water,100 liters from sea of Al-Najaf and 100 liters stagnant water during period from October 2018 to April 2019.Examined samples by three laboratory methods: Modified Ziehl-Neelson stain, Flotation by saturated sugar solution method and ELISA to detecting from Cryptosporidium oocysts in the water as used Clarithromycin drug effective against C.parvum in vitro. Capability test was performed by impregnation of isolate on cell monolayers and determination the parasite counted after 48 h from the incubation at 37°C. Differ concentrations from Clarithromycin were 4, 8, 16 and 32 mg/L respectively compared with control group. Results of the current study showed that oocysts were found in 182 from 400 liters 45.5% as showed that height oocysts in stagnant water then followed Sea of Al-Najaf were 55% and 45% respectively, height percentage of oocysts were in April and March were 69.09% and 66% while decrease percentage of infection in October was 25%. As showed study results presence significant differences in efficiency of ELISA technique was 83.33% at detection from oocysts compared with Flotation by saturated sugar solution and Modified Ziehl-Neelson stain methods were 66.66% and 61.11% respectively. Shown results this study that Clarithromycin drug in concentrations of 16 and 32 mg/L caused decrease in number oocysts was 17.3±3.5 and 15.4±3.9, sporozoites counts was 17.1±3.4 and 14.9±4.0 compared with control group was 20.5±2.8.As observed significance differences (P˂0.05) in the mean numbers of oocysts and sporozoites in three replicate plates after 48 h. The current study aims determined incident of Trichomonas tenax infection for people by oral diseases compare to healthy people and extent of the connection with operators of sex, age, habitation and educated level using macroscopic and microscopic routes and the vital role of hot aqueous extract Eugenia caryophyllata buds to treatment of this parasite infection come dental clinics/Kufa University in Al-Najaf governorate. This study was carried out dental clinics, Kufa University from July, 2017 to May, 2018. Where included the disclosure of the incident to 100 patients with T. tenax in mouth of people depending on sex, age, habitation and educated level, diabetes and take insulin and non-take insulin also role of the aqueous extract of hot buds E. caryophyllata on patients in inhibition for this parasite where take four groups including treated three groups with concentrations 100, 200 and 300 mg / ml respectively of body weight used as Gargling by mouth while fourth group was left with positive control (non-treated). The experiment continued for 10 days at dose is 5 ml daily for all studied groups. Incident of T. tenax parasite in people mouth to 100 patients, The total number of the infected 74% where appeared depending on age group 38-47 and rate was 93.75%, proportion of males was 32% while of females was 42%, depending on habitation was 84.4% while educated level was 90.6% while depending on taking insulin while patients who are non taking insulin males and females reached 35% and 25% respectively, total incidence rate was parasitic 76.92%. Showed results that hot buds aqueous extract of E. caryophyllata predestined on patients in inhibition of the parasite where used four groups were showed the total proportion of healing was 51.38% appeared highest healing rate reached 100% with concentration 300mg/ml gave significantly (p<0.05) compared with control groups (non-treated). This study find that giving the hot aqueous extract of E. caryophyllata buds as a gargle with concentration 300mg/kg led to parasite killing and complete recovery without side effects of both sexes. Objected this study to research impact of Toxoplasma gondii injury in serum 75 pregnant women positive infected and 30 pregnant women uninfected negative control, were conducted in the duration from June 2019 to November 2019, was done diagnosis by ELISA methods to find out concentration calcium, potassium, iron, prolactin and melatonin, The result mention presence of the anti-Toxoplasma IgG level was significantly (P < 0.05) reduction the calcium, iron and melatonin in serum pregnant women positive compares with women uninfected, the potassium and prolactin concentration was significantly (P < 0.05) rising in serum compare with pregnant uninfected. This study we conclude that Toxoplasma infection has an effect on some serologic and harmonic levels which caused significant abortion in pregnant woman. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
