Land use has become one of the causes of watershed damage, resulting in complex physical, economic and social problems in both upstream and downstream. This study aims to determine the direction of land use planning for the development of agroforestry in the Upstream of Ciliwung River Watershed of West Java Province. The orientation of the land use planning for agroforestry development was conducted by determining the type of agroforestry to be developed, the land capability class, as well as soil and water conservation agroforestry techniques to be applied. The results of this study showed that the determination of the agroforestry land use planning in the Upstream of Ciliwung River Watershed of West Java Province is directed to the development of agroforestry. Plant recommended to be developed on agroforestry land use include the annual crops combined with seasonal crops, and the application of conservation techniques; including terrestrial, gulud terrace, mulching, and terrace strengthening-plant.

Hirudotherapy (HT) is the application of medicinal leeches (Hirudo medicinalis) for therapeutic use. It is one of the oldest remedies, being employed by various medicinal practitioners. HT involves the attachment of cultured leeches onto the affected areas. Leech therapy involves an initial bite, which is usually a painless bite, followed by the sucking of 5 and 15 ml of blood. Its major therapeutic benefits are not only due to blood sucked during the biting, but also from the various bioactive substances, such as Hirudin, calin, Hyaluronidase, and Histamine-like substances, to name a few. HT has been employed in various disease conditions and surgical complications. It has been successfully used in plastic and reconstructive surgeries, cardiovascular complications, varicose veins, hemorrhoids and various joint ailments. Nowadays, it is also being utilized in gastrointestinal disorders, dermatology and gynecological abnormalities. More recently, HT has found new applications in cancer therapy, hypersensitivity conditions, like asthma, male/female sterility and diabetes. Taking into consideration all the facts, HT efforts should be made in optimizing the success of medicinal leech therapy in clinical and private practice. [Arch Clin Exp Surg 2012; 1(3.000): 172-180]

This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of online teacher with peer feedback provided on students' writing performance. Some experts state that both teacher and students feel that teacher feedback on the students' writing is essential, and it is believed to be the most effective feedback. On the other hand, the practice of peer feedback is supported by the theory of Vigotsky's Zone of Proximal Development which holds that the cognitive development of individuals result from social interaction where individuals can learn from each other. Furthermore, with the development of technology, it is more interesting to integrate information and communication technology ICT in EFL writing classes. Hence, this study investigated the combination of these three aspects--teacher feedback, peer feedback, and Edmodo--and looked at the impact on the students' writing performance. This study was a quasi-experimental, which involved 55 English Department students in a state university in Indonesia. These students were grouped into the experimental group and the control group. The result of this study revealed that the students having the online teacher and peer feedback provided through Edmodo did not perform better in writing than those who experienced teacher feedback in the conventional method.

Over the past few years, numerous urban areas have been identified in floodplains and coastal regions. These areas should be repurposed as water storage zones to enhance surface water infiltration. The escalating demand for land in flat areas adds complexity to the susceptibility of urban areas to flood hazards. The observation focuses on understanding how land use change influences urban flood susceptibility assessment. Several aspects assumed to have a significant relationship with the flood phenomenon include the impact of land use change, environmental health impact, modification of land typology, explanation of urban flooding, appropriate model for flood-prone assessment, current state of research, appropriate steps in decision-making in susceptibility areas, and challenges of the scenario-based flood-prone mapping model in the future. Additionally, the assessment aspect should consider the impact of land degradation resulting from land use change. Integrated measures are necessary to guide future studies aimed at improving ecological quality and restoring environmental health. The availability of free and open-source datasets facilitates conducting studies to support decision-making both locally and regionally.

Over the past few decades, Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as one of India's top states/UTs in terms of horticultural production.The current study aimed to investigate the short-and long-term relationships between economic growth and total horticultural production, taking into account the growing trend in horticultural production and individual products. The study made use of secondary data on horticultural production and gross state domestic product (GSDP) from 2004 to 2021. The Granger Causality Test, OLS, VECM model, and Johansen Cointegration Test were the econometric instruments employed. There is no significant short run relation between the variables, as shown by the Vector Error Correction model and its probability output, except for the case where horticulture production is considered an independent variable and GSDP as a dependent variable. The Johansen Cointegration Test results indicate that there is a long-term relationship between the variables. The Granger Casualty Test revealed that there was no cause-and-effect relationship (in either direction) between the three variables. The GSDP and horticulture production were the only variables for which the OLS showed a significant correlation. The study discovered a linear relationship between the dependent and independent variables of horticulture production and GSDP; however, the relationship failed the Granger Causality Test, indicating the absence of a cause-and-effect relationship. Given that agriculture is the backbone and cornerstone of the Jammu and Kashmir economy, the lack of a direct relationship between horticulture and food grain production or the GSDP is concerning. Criminal acts often leave traces analyzed by law enforcement, especially by the Indonesian National Police (POLRI). Sometimes, various items were found and analyzed to link the victim and the perpetrator. Blood, the most abundant body fluid, found in crime scenes, consists of cellular and liquid elements. The forensic focuses on red blood, which can be wet or dried at the crime scene. Sometimes, there was no blood or bloodstains found, but objects related to other body fluids, such as: condoms, toothbrushes, the mouth of glass cups, straws, etc, could be found. Blood group analysis could still be carried out based on secretor gene (Se) considering that 80% of the population was of the secretor group. There are two chromosomes related to blood regulation, namely: chromosomes no. 9 and 19. The former relates to the ABO blood group and the latter relates to the secretory phenotype. The basic principle of secretors was antigens found on the surface of red blood cells and all body fluids, except cerebrospinal fluid. The pattern of inheritance on chromosomes 9 and 19 is based on the probability law by Mendell. It stated that all of genotypes (homozygous dominant-recessive or heterozygous) would be passed on to their offspring.

Currently, water resources management is still focused on on-site water resources infrastructure to achieve optimal water utilization, with almost never considered land management in which water resources are produced naturally. The research aim is to study the water balance in the Upper Cisadane Sub-Watershed, and to simulate a land use plan and development of water resource infrastructure to fulfill the need for water in the Upper Cisadane Sub-Watershed using the SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model. Existing water availability was calculated using stream discharge data from River Flow Measurement Station Empang, whereas water demand has been analyzed for domestic, industries, agriculture, fisheries, and animal husbandry. Totally, water availability in the Upper Cisadane Sub-Watershed was ± 222.9 MCM (Million Cubic Meters) year-1, which was higher than the demand for water of as much as ± 209.8 MCM year-1 and resulted in a water surplus of ± 13.1 MCM year-1. However, water availability was not evenly distributed throughout the year, and there was always a water deficit in the dry season. To overcome drought during the dry season, five simulations of land use management and construction of water retention infrastructure were carried out using the SWAT model. The water deficit in the Upper Cisadane SubWatershed will be overcome by the consistent application of the spatial plan of West Java Province, reforestation of converted forest areas, applied agroforestry in agricultural land, and development of a reservoir with a storage capacity of 30 MCM.

In this work, we present a new theory of generalized fractional hereditary thermoelasticity associated with Mittag–Leffler relaxation function. We analyze a two‐dimensional problem of a thick plate of hereditary thermoelastic. The lower and upper surfaces of the plate are assumed to be traction free and subjected to a given axisymmetric temperature distribution. Direct approach together with Laplace and Hankel transform techniques is employed to obtain the solution in the transformed domain. Hankel transforms are inverted analytically while a numerical method is used for the Laplace transform inversion. Background: EndoActivator, a sonically-driven canal irrigation system (Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties, Tulsa, OK), has been developed for activating root canal irrigants, and has recently been released onto the market. Purpose: To obtain an initial understanding of bubbles generation of electrical EndoActivator tips during activation of the irrigant in a transparent root canal model and a modified extracted tooth. Methods: A modified extracted tooth and a straight glass model were filled with a solution containing 17% EDTA or 3% NaOCl. A medium activator tip 22-mm polymer noncutting #25, 0.04 file driven by an electrical sonic hand-piece at 190 Hz (highest level) induced pressure waves that produced macro- and micro-bubbles. The physical mechanisms involved were visualized using a Miro 320S high-speed imaging system (Phantom, Wayne, NJ, USA) with high temporal and spatial resolutions. The imaging system acquired images at 25,000 frames per second with 320×x240 pixels per image, and attached a 60-mm f/2.8 macro lens (Nikon, Tokyo, Japan). Results: The end of the tip did not generate bubbles formation. Disruption of surface tension at the air–solution system in the glass canal model by an electrical sonic driven EndoActivator tip generated bubbles in the solution. However, it did not occur at the system of solution–air interfaces in the glass canal and modified extracted tooth. Conclusion: The physical mechanism of the solution activated by an electrical sonic driven EndoActivator tip in generting bubbles formation is because the surface tension at the air–solution system disruption. No bubbles formation occurred in the solution in the restricted space either in the solution-air system or modified extracted tooth. Better understanding of the physical mechanisms that relate specifically to the activation behaviour of EndoActivator tips in solutions is key to improving the cleaning mechanism that applies during root canal treatment.

Background: Calcium hydroxide is a gold standard for root canal sealing material. However, there are many defects in calcium hydroxide that have prompted many researchers to look for alternative materials, including natural origin ingredients. Red pine (Pinus densiflora) is often used in dentistry for its antioxidant and antibacterial properties. The mixture of calcium hydroxide and red pine has never been achieved before. One of the criteria for material sealing is that the channel should be fully sealed with high flow ability and low viscosity. Therefore, this research is performed to analyze the viscosity value of the mixture of calcium hydroxide and red pine (Pinus densiflora). Purpose: Knowing the difference in viscosity of the combination of calcium hydroxide and red pine with a ratio of 1:1, 1:1.5, and 1:2. Methods: This study used four treatment groups, with each group consisting of 8 replications. Group 1 was a combination of calcium hydroxide and red pine with a 1: 1, group 2 the ratio was 1: 1.5, group 3 had the ratio 1: 2, and the positive control group used calcium hydroxide and a sterile aquadest. Calcium hydroxide in powder form and an extract of red pine in liquid form are mixed according to the ratio. The viscosity value is measured using a viscosity tester, namely the Brookfield Viscometer. Results: The control group had a lower viscosity than group 3, group 3, and group 2 than group1. Conclusion: Combination of calcium hydroxide and red pine with a ratio of 1:2, the lowest viscosity was obtained compared to the ratio of 1: 1 and 1: 1.5.

Soil hydraulic conductivity is one of the important soil characteristics that determines the amount and proportion of water that will be infiltrated into the soil column and flowing as surface runoff. It is strongly influenced by soil porosity and soil characteristics that affect the soil porosity such as soil texture and structure and soil organic matter content (internally factors) as well as land management and the intensity of plant canopy cover (external factors). This research is aimed to identify the character of soil hydraulics conductivity in different landuse that consist of forest, agricultural land (moor land, cacao plantations, intensive and conservation annual crops), and green open space areas. The results showed that: a) forest conversion into agricultural land led to the decline of soil quality such as decreased levels of soil organic matter, soil porosity and distribution of soil pores so that the conversion of forest land into agricultural land decreases the soil hydraulic conductivity of both for the initial value and saturated hydraulic conductivity; b) forets canopy cover density affects the soil quality and soil hydraulics conductivity, where high canopy cover has the higher value of soil hydraulics conductivity compared to medium and low canopy forest; c) Situgede tourism forest has the lowest soil hydraulics conductivity compared to other forest types; d) soil hydraulics conductivity in conservation annual crops is higher than intensive annual crops land and Situgede tourism forest and it’s not significantly different from the soil hydraulics conductivity in low canopy forest; and e) soil hydraulics conductivity in green open spaces area were strongly determined by the naturalness of landscape and human intervention level on its formation and management, where the UI city forest and Lembah Gurame city park which were function as ecotourism areas has the lower soil hydraulics conductivity compared to great forest park.
