Infill walls are a primary source of structural loss under service level and design basis earthquakes, so developing high-performance infill wall is an effective strategy to reduce seismic loss. While several high-performance infill walls have been proposed, most studies only reveal the damage characteristics of infill walls at the component level. However, the interaction between infill walls and structures can alter the seismic response of structures and consequently affect the loss of infill walls under earthquakes. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the seismic responses and loss of high-performance infill wall at the structural level. In this paper, the working mechanism and damage characteristics of the slotted infill wall (SIW) are firstly introduced and verified through cyclic loading test. Then, an in-plane hysteresis model of SIW is developed, and the calculation method of key parameters is proposed. Finally, a numerical analysis model of a 10-story frame with slotted infill wall (SIW-F) is developed to study the seismic response and seismic losses. The results indicate that SIW-F's displacement response is larger than that of the frame with ordinary infill wall (OIW-F) on most floors. However, the floor acceleration response is less. The seismic loss of SIW-F is less than that of OIW-F, particularly under design basis earthquakes. [Display omitted] Aqueous zinc-ion supercapacitors are a new type of energy storage device possessing high energy density, high safety, long service life, and abundant raw materials, which have attracted attention toward research. In this paper, NiCo 2 O 4 nanosheets rich in oxygen vacancies were used as the cathode material for a novel aqueous zinc-ion supercapacitor. The aqueous zinc-ion supercapacitor device showed excellent electrochemical performance with a high specific capacity of 122.5 mAh/g at a current density of 1 A/g. The specific capacity of discharge at a current density of 10 A/g was found to be 72.6 mAh/g, along with a capacity retention rate of 59.3%. The reduction of NaBH 4 enhanced the content of oxygen vacancies in the materials, which facilitated the enhancement of the conductivity and electrochemical properties of the materials. The high energy density and high multiplier performance of the aqueous zinc-ion supercapacitors showed potential for wide applications in portable electronic products and smart devices. Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, elective surgery has to undergo longer wait times, including nephrectomy for T1 renal cell carcinoma (RCC). This study aimed to investigate the time-to-surgery (TTS) of Chinese T1 RCC patients and its influencing factors, and to illustrate the impact of TTS on the prognosis of T1 RCC. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 762 Chinese patients with pathological T1 RCC that underwent nephrectomy. To discover the impact of TTS on survival outcomes, we explored the possible delay intervals by week using the Kaplan-Meier method and Log-rank test. Cox proportional hazard models with inverse probability-treatment weighting (IPTW) were used to assess the association between TTS and disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). Results: The median TTS of T1 RCC patients was 15 days. The Charlson comorbidity index, the Preoperative Aspects and Dimensions Used for an Anatomical (PADUA) score, and the maximal tumor diameter on presentation were independent influencing factors for TTS. The cut-off point of TTS was selected as 5 weeks according to the Log-rank analysis. For T1a RCC, patients with TTS > 5 weeks had similar DFS (HR = 2.39; 95% CI, 0.82–6.94; p = 0.109) and OS (HR = 1.28; 95% CI, 0.23–7.16; p = 0.779) compared to patients with TTS ≤ 5 weeks. For T1b RCC, patients with TTS > 5 weeks had shorter DFS (HR = 2.90; 95% CI = 1.46–5.75; p = 0.002) and OS (HR = 2.49, 95% CI = 1.09–5.70; p = 0.030) than patients with TTS ≤ 5 weeks. Conclusions: Prolonged TTS had no impact on the prognosis of T1a RCC while surgery delayed for over 5 weeks may lead to worse survival in T1b RCC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

• IAC+BCG increases high-risk NMIBC patients' recurrence-free survival. • High-risk NMIBC patients have better progression-free survival with IAC+BCG. • The adverse effects of IAC are generally modest, scoring one to two. • The side effects of BCG therapy were not noticeably exacerbated by IAC. To develop a novel combination therapy for high-risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) after transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT), namely, intra-arterial chemotherapy (IAC) plus BCG immunotherapy, and to compare the feasibility and safety of the 2 therapies. A retrospective study was conducted on the data of 119 patients who were diagnosed with high-risk NMIBC and underwent TURBT in the past 5 years. Those who did not complete the treatment were excluded, and the remaining 98 patients were divided into 2 groups: both groups received intravesical BCG immunotherapy, while the BCG+IAC group received 4 courses of extra intra-arterial chemotherapy. Clinical and follow-up data were processed using statistical software. The recurrence rate was 22.2% in the BCG+IAC group and 35.8% in the BCG group, whereas the progression rates were 8.9% and 24.5%, respectively. In the Kaplan-Meier plot, a statistically significant difference was observed with respect to recurrence-free survival (p = 0.025), as well as the progression-free survival of the two groups was similar (p = 0.019). A total of 22.2% of the patients with adverse effects of IAC and 79.6% of patients suffered from adverse reactions to BCG immunotherapy, and most of the adverse effects were mild and tolerable. Univariate and multivariate analysis indicated that multifocal and treatment were independent risk factors for recurrence, while the history of recurrence and treatment were independent risk factors for progression. IAC could be a promising auxiliary treatment for BCG immunotherapy in decreasing the recurrence and progression rate of high-risk NMIBC with little additional toxicity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The real world is full of rich and valuable complex networks. Community structure is an important feature in complex networks, which makes possible the discovery of some structure or hidden related information for an in-depth study of complex network structures and functional characteristics. Aimed at community detection in complex networks, this paper proposed a membrane algorithm based on a self-organizing map (SOM) network. Firstly, community detection was transformed as discrete optimization problems by selecting the optimization function. Secondly, three elements of the membrane algorithm, objects, reaction rules, and membrane structure were designed to analyze the properties and characteristics of the community structure. Thirdly, a SOM was employed to determine the number of membranes by learning and mining the structure of the current objects in the decision space, which is beneficial to guiding the local and global search of the proposed algorithm by constructing the neighborhood relationship. Finally, the simulation experiment was carried out on both synthetic benchmark networks and four real-world networks. The experiment proved that the proposed algorithm had higher accuracy, stability, and execution efficiency, compared with the results of other experimental algorithms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
