Objective To investigate the effect of a metal occlusal surface and stress interruption design on minimally invasive prosthodontics for patients with distal extension absence and insufficient occlusal gingival distance. Methods We retrospectively studied the case of minimally invasive prosthodontic (Vitallium 2000) combined with a metal occlusal surface for distal extension absence in a patient with insufficient occlusal gingival distance; the stress breaking design and pressure impression technology are examined, and relevant articles are reviewd. Results The design effectively solves the problems of insufficient occlusal gingival distance, large occlusal force and easy denture fracture. Reviewing the relevant literature, stress interruption design can effectively protect abutment teeth, but the behavior of stress interruption design and stress conduction phenomena in the mouths of patients has not been reported. The T-scan test results of this study showed that before and after wearing the denture, the occlusal force distribution ratio of the patient changed from 77.5% on the left and 22.5% on the right to 61.3% on the left and 38.7% on the right. The occlusal force distribution ratio of the right dentition to the total occlusal force increased by 16.2%, and the occlusal force became better distributed. Further analysis showed that the occlusal forces on the left and right sides were nearly the same in the initial occlusion stage. As the occlusal force was further increased, the proportion of the occlusal force on the right side decreased in the middle of the occlusion stage and further decreased in the final occlusion stage until it reached a dynamic balance. The above T-scan test and literature review results suggest that this dynamic balance phenomenon of bite force is related to the stress interruption design and the stress conduction effect of the split framework. Conclusion The composite of stress interruption design and metal occlusal surface allows for minimally invasive prosthodontics for the treatment of distal extension absence in patients with insufficient occlusal gingival distance.

Understanding the transport of energy within space plasmas, particularly in the solar wind, remains a complex challenge. Accurate measurement of electron temperatures and their nonthermal characteristics is crucial for comprehending energy transport properties in plasmas. Quasi-thermal-noise (QTN) spectroscopy has emerged as a dependable tool for precise electron parameters assessment as it is less susceptible to spacecraft effects than particle detectors. In this study, we apply a QTN spectroscopy fitting method to analyze data from the Parker Solar Probe FIELDS radio instrument obtained during Encounters 2 through 13, under unbiased antenna conditions. We use the kappa function to characterize the electron velocity distribution and employ a fitting technique to derive the changes in each parameter across heliocentric distances ranging from 12 R s to 76 R s. Specifically, we find that the electron density scales as n e ∝ r −2.09±0.04 and the T e ∝ r −0.65±0.02. The distribution of the kappa index has three distinct regions as a function of radial distance from the Sun. Furthermore, we conduct a statistical analysis of solar wind energy flux which we finds follows a power-law relationship w total ∝ r −1.92±0.04. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a well-established tumour marker for prostatic carcinoma. In this study, we present a novel, real-time, and ultrasensitive Love-mode surface acoustic wave (L-SAW) immunosensor for PSA detection enhanced by MoS2@Cu2O-Au nanocomposite conjugation. The MoS2@Cu2O-Au nanocomposites were analyzed by SEM, XRD, and EDS. The experiments show a significant improvement in sensitivity and detection limit compared with the previous detection methods utilizing nanogold alone to detect PSA biomolecules. The experimental results show a good linear relationship when the range of PSA concentrations between 200 pg/mL and 5 ng/mL was tested. Ammonia (NH3) gas is prevalent in industrial production as a health hazardous gas. Consequently, it is essential to develop a straightforward, reliable, and stable NH3 sensor capable of operating at room temperature. This paper presents an innovative approach to modifying SnO2 colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) on the surface of Ti3C2Tx MXene to form a heterojunction, which introduces a significant number of adsorption sites and enhances the response of the sensor. Zero-dimensional (0D) SnO2 quantum dots and two-dimensional (2D) Ti3C2Tx MXene were prepared by solvothermal and in situ etching methods, respectively. The impact of the mass ratio between two materials on the performance was assessed. The sensor based on 12 wt% Ti3C2Tx MXene/SnO2 composites demonstrates excellent performance in terms of sensitivity and response/recovery speed. Upon exposure to 50 ppm NH3, the frequency shift in the sensor is −1140 Hz, which is 5.6 times larger than that of pure Ti3C2Tx MXene and 2.8 times higher than that of SnO2 CQDs. The response/recovery time of the sensor for 10 ppm NH3 was 36/54 s, respectively. The sensor exhibited a theoretical detection limit of 73 ppb and good repeatability. Furthermore, a stable sensing performance can be maintained after 30 days. The enhanced sensor performance can be attributed to the abundant active sites provided by the accumulation/depletion layer in the Ti3C2Tx/SnO2 heterojunction, which facilitates the adsorption of oxygen molecules. Antimony selenide has been intensively investigated as an interesting alternative for solar cell absorbers due to its excellent physical properties. Owing to the remarkable advancements in the last several decades, chemical and physics methods have improved the power conversion efficiency of antimony selenide solar cells by over 10%, almost at the level needed for industrial applications. In this perspective, we have outlined the issues and challenges these antimony chalcogenides face in photoelectric applications. Providing self-powered energy for wearable electronic devices is currently an important research direction in the field of thermoelectric (TE) thin films. In this study, a simple dual-source magnetron sputtering method was used to prepare Ag2Te thin films, which exhibit good TE properties at room temperature, and the growth temperature and subsequent annealing process were optimized to obtain high-quality films. The experimental results show that films grown at a substrate temperature of 280 °C exhibit a high power factor (PF) of ~3.95 μW/cm·K2 at room temperature, which is further improved to 4.79 μW/cm·K2 after optimal annealing treatment, and a highest PF of ~7.85 μW/cm·K2 was observed at 200 °C. Appropriate annealing temperature effectively increases the carrier mobility of the Ag2Te films and adjusts the Ag/Te ratio to make the composition closer to the stoichiometric ratio, thus promoting the enhancement of electrical transport properties. A TE device with five legs was assembled using as-fabricated Ag2Te thin films. With a temperature difference of 40 K, the device was able to generate an output voltage of approximately 14.43 mV and a corresponding power of about 50.52 nW. Cu2Se is an attractive thermoelectric material due to its layered structure, low cost, environmental compatibility, and non-toxicity. These traits make it a promising replacement for conventional thermoelectric materials in large-scale applications. This study focuses on preparing Cu2Se flexible thin films through in situ magnetron sputtering technology while carefully optimizing key preparation parameters, and explores the physical mechanism of thermoelectric property enhancement, especially the power factor. The films are deposited onto flexible polyimide substrates. Experimental findings demonstrate that films grown at a base temperature of 200 °C exhibit favorable performance. Furthermore, annealing heat treatment effectively regulates the Cu element content in the film samples, which reduces carrier concentration and enhances the Seebeck coefficient, ultimately improving the power factor of the materials. Compared to the unannealed samples, the sample annealed at 300 °C exhibited a significant increase in room temperature Seebeck coefficient, rising from 9.13 μVK−1 to 26.73 μVK−1. Concurrently, the power factor improved from 0.33 μWcm−1K−2 to 1.43 μWcm−1K−2. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
