Diese Arbeit zur Erlangung des Master-Grades versucht, die aktuelle valenzianische Sprach- und Migrationspolitik zu analysieren. Unter aktuell darf in diesem Zusammenhang ein Zeitraum von fünf bis maximal zehn Jahren angenommen werden, wenn es um die Entwicklung des valenciano geht und zwei bis drei Jahre, wenn die Tagespolitik behandelt wird. Durch die Untersuchung aktueller Statistiken und Gesetzestexte, die Aufarbeitung von Tageszeitungen, die Lektüre von empfohlener Literatur und nicht zuletzt durch vor Ort geführte Interviews werden die zentralen Forschungsfragen behandelt: - die aktuellen Entwicklungen der Immigration in Spanien und speziell in der Comunidad Valenciana, - die Integrationsbemühungen und - die Sprachenfrage. Im Zuge der Forschung hat sich die Sprachenfrage als die aktuell interessantere oder zumindest akutere herausgestellt, was nicht zuletzt mit den politischen Veränderungen in der Autonomen Gemeinschaft zusammenhängt (z. B.: der Wechsel der Regionalregierung im Sommer 2015). Im Zuge dessen ist auf die politische Landschaft, also auf die Regionalregierung, ihre Opposition sowie deren Positionierung hinsichtlich der Forschungsthemen ‚Migration‘ und ‚Sprache‘ einzugehen. Es werden die wichtigsten Ziele der aktuellen Regierung zur Normalisierung des Valenzianischen vorgestellt. Außerdem soll die Wichtigkeit des valenciano im Alltag diskutiert und die Entwicklung seines Status und Prestiges im Laufe der Geschichte untersucht werden. Besonderes Augenmerk ist hierbei auf die Kompetenz und die Verwendung der Sprache zu legen. Damit einher geht die Frage nach dem Valenzianischen im Bildungssektor, deren Beantwortung ein eigenes Kapitel einnimmt. Es wird das neue mehrsprachige Bildungsmodell der Comunidad Valenciana vorgestellt und kritisch beleuchtet. Ziel dieser Studie ist es, eine ausgewogene Handreichung zu einem sehr aktuellen Thema anzubieten, die sowohl die Pläne der Politik, der akademischen Institutionen und NGOs als auch die Realität der Gesellschaft abdeckt. Aufgrund der gesamteuropäisch und global großen Aktualität der Migrationsfrage und der regional (in der Comunidad Valenciana) akuten Sprachenfrage darf die Arbeit nur als Momentaufnahme gesehen werden, bei jeder weiterführenden Forschung gilt es, den tagesaktuellen, politischen und gesellschaftlichen Wandel zu berücksichtigen oder gar neu zu bewerten., This study prepared in fulfilment of the requirements for the master’s degree attempts to analyse the current Valencian language and migration policy. The term current reflects in this context a time period of five to a maximum of ten years concerning the development of the Valenciano and two to three years concerning the day-to-day politics in this area. With the means of analysis of current statistics and legislative texts, review of articles in the daily news, reading of recommended literature and last but not least conducting of on-site interviews the following key research questions will be covered: - Current development of the immigration in Spain with focus on the Comunidad Valenciana - Integration efforts - Matter of language In the course of the study the language issue has turned out to be the more interesting and at least the more urgent one, which seems to be related to the political changes happening in the Autonomous Community (e.g. change of the regional government in summer 2015). As consequence the discussion will focus on the political landscape that means the regional government, their political opposition party, as well as the positioning with regard to the research topics “migration” and “language”. The main objectives of the present government for a normalization of the Valencian will be presented. Furthermore the importance of the Valenciano in the everyday life and its status and prestige in the course of the historical development will be studied. Special attention is paid to the competency and utilization of the language. This goes hand in hand with the question of the Valencian education sector which will be answered in an own chapter of this report. The recent multilingual education model of the Comunidad Valenciana will be presented and critically examined. Objective of this study is to provide a balanced guidance on this topical subject, covering the plans of the policy makers, the academic institutions, and NGOs, as well as the sense of reality of today’s society. Due to the topicality of the pan-European and global migrations issues and the present regional language issues (within the Comunidad Valenciana) this study should be considered as a snapshot only. For further research it seems important to consider the ongoing political and social change and update or even re-evaluate the results accordingly.

Assessment of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points Principles in Primary School Feeding Schemes in the Western Region of Gauteng Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the need for standard hygiene and safety practices for the National School Nutrition Program (NSNP). Food safety procedures and practices can be implemented as part of the Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) program. Background: The National School Nutrition Program (NSNP) forms part of the Integrated Nutrition Program (INP) of South Africa and was implemented as a poverty alleviation strategy introduced in 1994 by government as part of the newly founded democratic Republic of South Africa. The NSNP is implemented in primary schools. Design: A questionnaire was designed to investigate, the hygiene and safety practices in primary schools in the Western Region of Gauteng. Both rural and urban schools using the NSNP were targeted. Research Project: The NSNP staff from 26 primary schools completed the research questionnaire focused on hygiene and safety practices. Results: Data collected indicated the need to implement a very basic HACCP program that include identifying the HACCP team, training for food handlers, standardized equipment and the implementation of hygiene and safety procedures. Conclusion: To implement HACCP in the NSNP, the role players from the managerial structures and food handlers at schools, the training needs of the target group and the equipment needed to comply with HACCP procedures, should to be identified.
