RESUMO O transporte rodoviário ainda é considerado como principal meio para retirada das toras de madeira no Brasil, desde o corte ao beneficiamento, mesmo com seu elevado custo. Sendo assim, o transporte rodoviário também fica responsável pelo aumento nos custos dos subprodutos beneficiados. Pode-se observar ainda que este setor produtivo na atualidade tem que suportar a forte influência de aumento de custos em virtude de vários fatores. Neste contexto, este trabalho teve como objetivo mensurar a viabilidade econômica de tipos de composições de caminhões que podem ser utilizados na remoção e transporte de toras, especialmente na Região de Itapeva-SP, que possui características relevantes na produção de madeira reflorestada e que também possui empresas de beneficiamento. Através de estudos e análises, procurou-se caracterizar e demonstrar três composições que podem atender às necessidades do transporte madeireiro, contudo, visando obter maior rendimento e diminuição dos custos destinados ao transporte de toras na região.

Motocross racing is a seldom-researched popular extreme sport. This field research aimed to investigate feeling states, perceived arousal, anxiety, and negative and positive affect in the anticipatory and recovery race periods and their relationship to expected and perceived performance. Twenty Motocross racers completed psychometric scales before and after a national championship race. Results revealed that objective performance was unrelated to psychological measures. Arousal, anxiety, and positive affect were lower after the race. Expected performance was unrelated to postrace measures. Still, perceived performance correlated significantly with the feeling state, anxiety, and positive affect after the race and the feeling state before the race. Furthermore, racers who performed as expected or better showed improved feeling states after the race compared with those who did worse than expected. The core affect of the latter group declined. This research on psychological states during Motocross races could motivate new initiatives for future studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

RESUMO As habilidades sociais têm importante papel na vida escolar e profissional. Este estudo, de natureza descritiva e correlacional, analisa os efeitos de um Curso de extensão intitulado "Imersão na Universidade: você protagonista do seu futuro”, sobre as habilidades sociais de estudantes do Ensino Médio da rede pública. Para tanto, aplicou-se o Inventário de Habilidades Sociais em Adolescentes (IHSA-DelPrette) no momento inicial e três meses após o término do curso, considerando dois indicadores: (1) frequência e (2) dificuldade com que reagiam às diferentes demandas de interação social. Verificou-se diferença estatisticamente significante entre os escores pré e pós intervenção (p = 0,014), evidenciando aumento da frequência das habilidades. Para a dificuldade não foi observada diferença significante, embora tenha ocorrido uma diminuição de 13,45%. A universidade pode ser um espaço não apenas para capacitação analítica e instrumental, mas para o desenvolvimento interpessoal tanto da comunidade interna quanto externa.

Brachycephalus coloratus was known only from its type locality in the Serra da Baitaca of Paraná, Brazil. Its extent of occurrence was estimated at 0.37 km2, and its conservation status was proposed as Vulnerable. Here, we provide a second record for B. coloratus at Pão de Ló, Paraná, at 1,230 m of altitude. We estimate its current area of occupancy at 1.17 km2 and propose its conservation status as Endangered. The assessment of the Green Status suggests that it is Depleted; the prevention of deforestation and fires could lead to high conservation returns.

Understanding the normal physiology of the canine mammary gland (CMG) is crucial, as it provides a foundational reference for understanding canine mammary neoplasms. The relation between the Proliferation Index (PI) indicated by Ki‐67 expression, along with the Apoptotic Index (AI) determined through Caspase‐3 expression during the oestrous cycle, is inadequately documented in existing literature. This study seeks to offer insights into the interplay between PI and AI in the CMG across oestrous cycle phases. An extensive investigation was conducted on a diverse case series of bitches (n = 18). Oestrous cycle stages were determined through vaginal cytology, histological examination of the reproductive tract and serum progesterone and oestradiol concentrations. The entire mammary chain was histologically examined, and proliferation and apoptosis were assessed via double immunohistochemistry employing anti‐Ki‐67 and Caspase‐3 antibodies. PI and AI were evaluated through a systematic random sampling approach, counting a minimum of 200 cells for each cell type. There was a significantly higher PI during early dioestrus in all mammary gland components, with a greater proportion of positive cells observed in epithelial cells compared to stromal cells. The highest PI was detected in epithelial cells within the end buds. Significant differences were found in Ki‐67 labelling across the cranial mammary glands. A positive and strong correlation was noted between progesterone concentration and PI in epithelial cells. The AI remained consistently low throughout the oestrous cycle, with few differences observed across histological components. Caspase‐3 labelling displayed the highest positivity in caudal mammary pairs. A negative and moderate correlation was identified between progesterone concentration and AI in interlobular mesenchymal cells. This study highlights the influence of endocrine regulation on cell proliferation indices in mammary tissue, emphasizing the need to consider these hormonal variations in toxicopathological studies involving canine mammary gland.
