Abstract

Weak links and critical current density of epitaxial and textured Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox thin films grown on LaAlO3 and MgO substrates were investigated using magnetization measurements. The results showed that the critical current density was dependent on the strength of the magnetic field. The minimum critical current density was dependent on temperature. This behavior was attributed to the presence of weak links in the thin films.

Abstract

The characteristics of epitaxial superconducting Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox (BSCCO) thin films grown by solid phase epitaxy from amorphous films were investigated using x-ray diffraction and cross-sectional high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that high temperature annealing treatment caused the films to be predominantly BSCCO (2212) phase. In addition, the films were epitaxial to the LaAlO3 with the c axis perpendicular to the substrate surface.

The article presents a comparative analysis of the different dark current-voltage characteristics exhibited by the different types of thin-film solar cells. All the observed devices are shown to exhibit the presence of leakage current at forward, as well as reverse bias.

An experiment conducted thin films showed that high-technetium superconducting bimuth-strontium-calcium-copper-oxygen films with good electrical properties and film morphology canbe prepared by organometallic chemical vapor deposition in which ammonia is added to the argon carrier gas and hydrocarbon-based beta-diketonates. There were significant improvements in precursor volatility and thermal stability but no evidence of nitrogen contamination was seen

Abstract

A versatile equivalent circuit model for charge transport in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), including marked negative capacitance (NC), is generated to accurately reproduce the form of the differential capacitance at low frequencies through the inclusion of an additional resistance-inductance (RL) series element. The analysis has shown that the increase in internal space charge is responsible for the increase in inductance and low frequency transient response of OLEDs.

Reports on the use of specular x-ray reflectivity to probe the structures of self-assembled monolayers and multilayers deposited using a three-step siloxane self-assembly technique that is repeated to form periodic multilayers. Increase in the film thickness as a function of the number of trilayers; Bragg peaks corresponding to the inter-trilayer spacing.

Abstract

This article surveys the termochemistry of organolanthanide and organoactinide complexes in several interrelated areas. For trivalent 4f and tetravalent 5f as well as tetravalent (d°) group 4 complexes, patterns in metal-ligand s bond enthalpies are rather similar for a diverse range of ligands. This information is directly applicable to the analysis and invention of a variety of stoichiometric and catalytic transformations, including olefin hydroamination, hydrophosphination, and hydrosilylation, as well as dehydrogenative silane polymerization. Studies of metal-ligand bonding energetics in zero-valent lanthanide and group 4 bisarene sandwich complexes reveal metal-arene bonding which is both similar and rather strong.
