2. Does the frequency of hunting dogs’ activity influence their oxidative stress status subsequent to endurance?

- Abstract
Oxidative stress is implied in various pathological conditions in both humans and animals, and recent studies have suggested its role in performance, recovery, immunity, and health. This study’s objective was to investigate whether the higher frequency of activity by hunting dogs influences the oxidative stress indicators subsequent to endurance. The research involved forty-one hunting dogs, with equal representations of Alpine Brack Dachshund, Istrian Coarse-Haired Hound, and Posavina Hound. The dogs were categorized into higher frequency activity (n=22) and lower frequency activity (n=19) groups. Endurance was defined as a wild-boar hunt lasting for eight hours at an outside air temperature amounting to 10°C. Endurance had an impact on several parameters: an increased white blood cell count, neutrophils, and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration values, but decreased values of eosinophils and lymphocytes. Non-enzymatic biochemical indicators revealed higher energy expenditure (decreased glucose, total protein, and albumin concentration), hemoconcentration (decreased iron concentration), and elevated enzyme activity (AST, ALT, ALP, and CK-MB) but lower catalase activity. In terms of activity frequency, enzyme biomarker activity showed significant differences. ALT activity in both low- and high-frequency activity canines was notably higher (P<0.05) post-endurance compared to pre-endurance levels. ALP activity was significantly higher (P<0.05) post intense physical activity in higher frequency activity canines, yet lower (P<0.05) in lower activity frequency canines compared to their pre-endurance status. In conclusion, both tested canine groups demonstrated notable signs of oxidative stress subsequent to endurance, without differences between activity frequencies., Oksidacijski stres javlja se u raznim patološkim stanjima kod ljudi i životinja, a nedavna istraživanja sugeriraju njegov znakovit utjecaj na proizvodne pokazatelje, oporavak, otpornost i zdravlje. Cilj istraživanja bio je utvrditi utječe li veća učestalost aktivnosti lovačkih pasa na pokazatelje oksidacijskog stresa nakon dugotrajne fizičke aktivnosti. U istraživanju je sudjelovao 41 lovački pas, s podjednakom zastupljenošću pasmina alpski jazavčar, istarski kratkodlaki gonič i posavski gonič. Psi su kategorizirani u skupine koje treniraju (n=22) i skupine koje ne treniraju (n=19). Dugotrajna fizička aktivnost definirana je kao lov na divlje svinje u trajanju od osam sati, na vanjskoj temperaturi zraka od 10 °C. Dugotrajna fizička aktivnost utjecala je na nekoliko pokazatelja: broj leukocita, neutrofila i srednje vrijednosti koncentracije hemoglobina su povećani, a vrijednosti eozinofila i limfocita su snižene. Neenzimski biokemijski pokazatelji otkrivaju veću potrošnju energije (smanjena koncentracija glukoze, ukupnih proteina i albumina), hemokoncentraciju (smanjena koncentracija željeza) i povišenu aktivnost enzima (AST, ALT, ALP i CK), te nižu aktivnost katalaze. Što se tiče frekvencije aktivnosti, pojedini enzimi biomarkeri aktivnosti pokazuju znakovite razlike. ALT je i kod pasa niske i kod pasa visoke frekvencije aktivnosti bila veća (P<0,05) nakon dugotrajne fizičke aktivnosti. Usporedbom vrijednosti ALP-a nakon dugotrajne fizičke aktivnosti u odnosu na vrijeme prije dugotrajne fizičke aktivnosti, utvrđeno je da je ovaj enzim bio znakovito povišen (P<0,05) kod pasa veće frekvencije aktivnosti odnosno znakovito snižen (P<0,05) kod pasa manje frekvencije aktivnosti. Zaključno, obje testirane skupine pasa pokazale su izražene znakove oksidacijskog stresa nakon vježbe izdržljivosti, bez obzira na utreniranost.

3. Effects of Norflurazon and UV Radiation on Symbiotic and Free-Living Hydra.

In this study, we aimed to document the freshwater symbiotic interactions along with the impact of the abiotic environment and anthropogenic effects on the functionality of freshwater organisms. Symbiotic green hydra (Z) and free-living brown hydra (S), either separately or both species together, were treated with the herbicide norflurazon in concentrations of 2 × 10
−6 mol/L (N6) and 2 × 10−7 mol/L (N7) for 72 h. Also, hydras were treated with both norflurazon and UV radiation at a wavelength of 254 nm for 2 min or were irradiated only. The next part of the experiment was performed in the same way but with added suspensions of isolated endosymbiotic alga, free-living alga, or both algae together. Mortality, migration, tentacle and tissue damage, changes in the thickness of the mesoglea of hydras, and clustering of algae were monitored. Green hydra generally showed lower rates of migration, and mortality was observed only in green hydra exposed to UV radiation. Tentacle damage was more pronounced in green hydra and included a specific fork-like structure. The use of cryofixation and TEM enabled us to partly elucidate the effect of clustering of algae. In summary, our study provides new insights into the influence of different environmental stressors and their combination on symbiotic and free-living freshwater hydras and algae and a better understanding of interactions in freshwater ecosystems. Pravičnost i uključivost obrazovnih politika temelj su uspješnog obrazovnog sustava koji postiže svoje obrazovne i društvene ishode. S ciljem utvrđivanja načina na koji se u Hrvatskoj usmjerava povećanje pravičnosti i uključivosti obrazovnog sustava, u ovom radu analiziramo dizajn 16 dokumenata javnih politika koji vode djelovanje aktera na svim razinama obrazovanja. Korištenjem tematske analize rad pokazuje kako je borba protiv nejednakosti u obrazovanju u hrvatskim obrazovnim politikama postavljena kao horizontalna tema koja svoje sastavnice dobiva tek spajanjem sadržaja niza strateških dokumenata. Zbog toga je javna intervencija za osiguravanje pravičnosti i uključivosti najčešće općeg karaktera, za sve polaznike obrazovanja, bez identificirane konkretne ciljne skupine te bez ciljanih mjera koje bi unaprijedile položaj specifičnih ciljnih skupina. Analizom ciljnih skupina, ciljeva te kvalitete logike intervencije u problem obrazovne nejednakosti ovaj rad, stoga, nastoji doprinijeti etabliranju teme pravičnosti i uključivosti u obrazovanju kao cjelovite i jasno definirane politike na svim razinama obrazovanja.

U ovom radu bavili smo se bicentričnim mnogokutima. Dobro je poznato da se svakom trokutu kružnica može i upisati i opisati. Eulerova formula za trokut, koju smo i dokazali, daje nam vezu između polumjera njemu upisane i opisane kružnice. Kao uvod u temu bicentričnih četverokuta, na kojima je u ovome radu naglasak, bilo je važno barem ukratko opisati i dati neke osnovne karakterizacije dviju dobro nam znanih klasa četverokuta, a to su tangencijalni i tetivni četverokuti. Bicentrični četverokuti su četverokuti koji su istovremeno tetivni i tangencijalni. Kao takvi, imaju neke zanimljive karakterizacije, a i rezultate koji se između ostalog odnose na vezu između radijusa upisane i opisane kružnice bicentričnih četverokuta. Prirodno se nametnulo dokazati analogon Eulerove formule za trokute poznat pod imenom Fussov teorem, kao i Yunovu nejednakost koja povezuje unutarnje kutove četverokuta te oba radijusa. Izvanredan teorem koji nam govori o postojanju četverokuta koji je istovremeno upisan jednoj, a opisan drugoj kružnici dao je francuski matematičar Jean-Victor Poncelet, a teorem je poznat pod imenom Ponceletov porizam. On je primjenjiv na sve mnogokute te zbog njega znamo da ukoliko postoji neki mnogokut koji je upisan vanjskoj kružnici i opisan unutarnjoj, onda postoji beskonačno mnogo takvih mnogokuta. In this thesis, our main theme was bicentric polygons. It is well known that every triangle possesses both an incircle and a circumcircle. Euler’s triangle formula, which we have proven, gives us a relation between the inradius and the circumradius. As an introduction to the main focus of this paper, bicentric quadrilaterals, it was important to, at least briefly, describe and give some basic characterizations of two well-known classes of quadrilaterals: tangential and cyclic quadrilaterals. Bicentric quadrilaterals are quadrilaterals that are cyclic and tangential at the same time. As a result, they have some interesting characterizations and results that, among others, relate to the connection between both the radii of the incircle and circumcircle of bicentric quadrilaterals. Naturally, it was necessary to prove the analogue of Euler’s triangle formula known as Fuss’s theorem, as well as Yun’s inequality, which connects the interior angles of the quadrilateral and both radii. A remarkable theorem that tells us about the existence of a quadrilateral that is simultaneously inscribed in one circle and circumscribed around another one was discovered by the French mathematician Jean-Victor Poncelet, and the theorem is known as Poncelet’s porism. It can be applicable to all polygons and that theorem gives us a statement that if there exists a polygon of n-sides which is inscribed in a given circle and circumscribed about another circle, then infinitely many such polygons exist.

9. DNA damage and morphological changes to symbiotic and free-living hydra caused by norflurazon and UVB radiation

Individuals of symbiotic green hydra (Hydra viridissima Pallas, 1766) and free-living brown hydra (Hydra oligactis Pallas, 1766) were treated with aqueous solutions of herbicide norflurazon (2x10-7, 2x10-6 mol/L) for 72 h and hydras were also exposed to simultaneous treatment to norflurazon and UVB radiation (λ = 254 nm, 2 min), along with control groups. The experiment was performed in triplicate. Migration and change of body shape (relaxed, contracted), as the evasion signs of deleterious effects, were observed by stereo microscope, and responses to mechanical stimuli were also noted. Comet assay was applied to measure the level of primary DNA damage of exposed green and brown hydras. Beside single and double strand breaks, it detects DNA base alkylation, oxidatively changed bases, DNA-adducts, covalently bound proteins to DNA, cross-linking and base dimers. Each hydra was put into a conical tube containing chilled homogenization buffer (75 mM NaCl, 24 mM Na2EDTA, pH 7.5, +4 °C) and its cells were separated mechanically. The obtained homogenate was mixed with the low melting point agarose, spread across the microscopic slide and left for the gel to polymerize. Preparations were treated with a series of buffers to remove the cell structures and isolate nucleoids. By immersing the slides into alkaline buffer, pH 13.0, DNA denatures rapidly. At the spots of primary damage, DNA strands broke, which led to the formation of relaxed loops and free DNA fragments. In electrophoresis, these loops and fragments are pulled from the nucleoid core toward the anode, and following fluorescent staining, under the microscope, they appear as comets. Comet preparations were analysed under an epifluorescent microscope equipped with CCD camera, and the level of damage was measured by image analysis software for the comet assay. Based on the intensity of fluorescence of the tail compared to the nucleoid, the percentage of DNA affected by primary damage was calculated. The treatment did induce a concentration related increase in primary DNA damage, but no significant difference between green and brown hydra was observed (4.40 % vs. 5.23 %, respectively ; negative controls 1.13 % and 1.17 %, respectively). On the other hand, in the presence of radiation, brown hydras showed significantly higher level of primary DNA damage already when exposed to the lowest concentration compared to the green ones (15.10 % and 3.77 %, respectively), proving the advantage of the symbiotic organism. The increase in damage was concentration dependent in either case.

Posjedovanje bogatog vokabulara je izuzetno važno za razumijevanje i izražavanje na stranom jeziku koji učimo, odnosno za dobro ovladavanje tim jezikom. Što više riječi i izvedenica poznajemo, sposobniji smo razumjeti značenje nekog teksta, razgovora, ali i bolje komunicirati. Vokabular nekog jezika se ne sastoji samo od jednostavnih riječi, njega čini i čitav niz različitih jezičnih konstrukcija. Učenje jezika znači usvajanje tih konstrukcija. U ovom članku ćemo govoriti o jednoj vrsti jezičnih konstrukcija, kolokacijama, o njihovoj važnosti za razumijevanje i komunikaciju na stranom jeziku te o mogućim načinima njihova usvajanja u nastavi stranog jezika. Kolokacije nisu uvijek predvidljive, pa ih je ponekad teško razumjeti. Izvorni govornik će ih intuitivno shvatiti, no onaj koji uči jezik morat će ih zapamtiti, budući da variraju od jezika do jezika. Njihovo razumijevanje i pravilna upotreba doprinose boljoj tečnosti govornog jezika, omogućavaju bolje razumijevanje pisanog teksta te olakšavaju i obogaćuju pisano izražavanje. Cilj ovog rada je ukazati na važnost učenja kolokacija u nastavi stranog jezika. Budući da ovladavanje kolokacijama predstavlja izazov, kako učenicima, tako i nastavnicima stranih jezika, u drugom dijelu članka ćemo razmotriti neke od mogućih načina njihova usvajanja u samom procesu učenja stranog jezika, te dati komparativni pregled nekih kolokacija u francuskom i španjolskom jeziku.

11. Planned online learning vs. Emergency remote teaching implemented during COVID-19 in higher education: lessons learned

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected higher education. Remote teaching/learning, which was introduced under emergency conditions, has been placed in the spotlight and has become a topic of interest for higher education institutions (HEIs), higher education systems and higher education policy makers. However, the concept of remote teaching/learning is far from new. Even before the pandemic, remote teaching/learning had been developed and implemented since the late 1990s, with an expansion of interest in both theory and practice in the 2000s. Planned remote teaching/learning should not, however, be confused with emergency remote teaching/learning such as that carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. Significant and substantial differences exist between the two, which derive from the differing contexts in which they are implemented, and the needs they are intended to serve. During the COVID-19 pandemic most of HEIs were not prepared for the sudden shift to emergency remote teaching/learning. Consequently, many generalisations were made in the public discourse regarding the negative effects for remote teaching/learning, and the advantages of face-to- face teaching and learning. Still, the lessons learned from the emergency implementation of remote teaching/learning during the COVID-19 pandemic need to be integrated into a comprehensive body of knowledge concerning the value and limitations of online teaching/learning. With this in mind, this report presents systematised evidence from studies carried out before and during the pandemic with regard to the efficiency of planned online teaching/learning on the one hand, and emergency remote teaching on the other. The aim of this report is to explore the differences between the two, and to find out whether most of the negative effects attributed to emergency remote teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic were caused by the online delivery itself, or by the fact that such online delivery was not based on comprehensive planning since it was a quick response to a pandemic.

U završnome radu Elementi realističke poetike u pripovijetkama Vjenceslava Novaka sustavno su opisane temeljne odrednice poetike realizma. U izabranome dijelu književnoga opusa Vjenceslava Novaka, one su prvo teorijski opisane, potom oprimjerene kroz analizu pripovijetki U glib i Nezasitnost i bijeda. Pojam realizma promatra se u kontekstu periodizacije hrvatske i svjetske književnosti, dok se naglasak postavlja na osobitosti hrvatske književnosti realizma. Također, kako je riječ o visokomimetičkom poetičkom programu, posebna se pažnja posvećuje utjecaju društvenih i političkih događanja na ondašnju hrvatsku književnu proizvodnju. This final work named Elements of realistic poetic in Vjenceslav Novak's short stories systematically describes realistic poetic’s main principals. In selected part of Novak’s literary work, those main principals are theoretically described and then exemplified through analysis of his short stories named U glib and Nezasitnost i bijeda. The meaning of realism is studied in both, Croatian and worldwide literature, although this work is primary focused on Croatian literature’s peculiarities. Since realistic poetic implies highly mimetic program, this work also studied the influence of social and political events on Croatian literature.

Online education has shown significant growth over the last decade and since the COVID-19 outbreak it has become even more centric in students’ and teachers’ lives. Instructors are being called on to adapt their courses to the online environment. This course provides a theoretical background and a practical training to enable instructors to realize effectively their courses in an online format. In the theoretical part (8 contact hours) the course will provide an insight to the elements that influence student learning in online communities and to the main challenges faced by instructors adapting courses from face-to-face to online. We will examine the importance of psychological factors, cooperative and constructivist learning theories. The practical part (12 contact hours) offers some examples of application of the theoretical framework to foreign language teaching, learning and assessment online, both in asynchronous and synchronous setting. We propose some examples of tools that allow communication and interaction between pairs and instructors and that may generate an active and engaged online learning community. Furthermore, we give some suggestions for collaborative or small-group work in online courses. Finally, we propose some techniques to provide effective feedback and to assess learning outcomes, promoting learners’ autonomy.

Društveni angažman visokih učilišta, viđen kao suradnja visokih učilišta i njihovih širih zajednica, podrazumijeva više od transfera tehnologije i znanja te uključuje aktivnu razmjenu resursa pri rješavanju društvenih pitanja.Jedan od načina na koje visoka učilišta mogu povećati svoj društveni angažman jest društveno korisno učenje, nastavna metoda koja objedinjuje pozitivne efekte stručne prakse s rješavanjem gorućih problema zajednice u kojoj visoko učilište djeluje, kroz uključivanje studenata u strukturiran rad u zajednici. Ovakav angažman studenata podjednako je koristan za same studente koji stječu vrijedno iskustvo, za visoka učilišta koja se snažnije uključuju u svoju zajednicu, kao i za samu zajednicu koja dobiva dobrodošlu pomoć. Važna komponenta društveno korisnog učenja jest postizanje ishoda učenja i njihovo vrednovanja.Nastava stranih jezika struke posebno je pogodna za primjenu ove metode, na što upućuju rezultati istraživanja i brojni primjeri dobre prakse

16. The impact of COVID-19 on higher education: a review of emerging evidence

The analytical report provides a synthesis of the emerging evidence on what impact COVID-19 has had on higher education in Europe, with a special focus on three thematic areas: teaching and learning ; the social dimension of higher education (i.e. the effect on underrepresented, vulnerable and disadvantaged learners) ; and student mobility. Drawing upon 14 rapid-response surveys carried out in 2020 by university networks, student organisations and researchers, as well as over 50 journal articles, reports and publications, the analytical report synthesises emerging evidence into three levels of impact of COVID-19: immediate impact, short-term impact and medium-term impact.

Poduzeće Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d. je vodeći regionalni lider u proizvodnji telekomunikacijskih sustava i uređaja. Njegovo poslovanje, u zadnjih 70 godina, je usmjereno stvaranju naprednog, održivog i povezanog svijeta nudeći ICT rješenja koja su jednostavna za usvajanje, uporabu i nadogradnju. U ovom radu, na temelju objavljenih financijskih izvještaja, analizirana je uspješnost poslovanja poduzeća u razdoblju od 2015-2019. godine. U teorijskom dijelu rada su objašnjeni temeljni financijski izvještaji kao potpora odlučivanju kao i instrumenti za analizu financijskih izvještaja – vertikalna analiza, horizontalna analiza, analiza putem pokazatelja te zbrojni financijski pokazatelji. U empirijskom dijelu rada su prikazani rezultati analize promatranog poduzeća te su isti uspoređeni s konkurentom. Zaključak rada je da poduzeće posluje uspješno i ostvaruje dobit unatoč nešto višoj zaduženosti. Its business, for the past 70 years, has focused on creating an advanced, sustainable and connected world by offering ICT solutions that are easy to adopt, use and upgrade. In this paper, we analyzed the business performance of company in the period from 2015. to 2019, based on published financial reports. The theoretical part of the paper explains the basic financial statements as a decision making support, as well as instruments used for the analysis of financial statements - vertical analysis, horizontal analysis, analysis by indicators and summary financial indicators. The empirical part of the paper presents the results of the analysis of the observed company and compares them with the competitor. The conclusion of the paper is that the company operates successfully and makes a profit despite slightly higher indebtedness.

Introduction: According to data from the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) from 2021, the incidence of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) in European countries was between 67 and 170 per 100,000 inhabitants with an average survival rate of 8%. The European country with the highest OHCA survival rate of 25% is Norway, where the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course has been an integral part of the national school curriculum since 1961.1-3 Aim: To examine general knowledge about recognizing emergency situations and the correct procedure for performing CPR among high school students and teachers in the General Gymnasium in Valpovo, Croatia. Patients and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 47 teachers and 47 students in the second grade. An anonymous survey containing 10 questions with 4 proposed answers was used, and the number of correct answers was unknown. Results: Knowledge of the etiology of cardiac arrest and the purpose of CPR is unsatisfactory among both teachers and students (2% of teachers vs 0% of students answered correctly). Teachers achieved better results in questions about the EpiPen mechanism of action (51% compared to 17% of students), accurate localization of pulse palpation in unconscious persons (68% compared to 60% of students) and recognition of situations in which emergency medical help should be called (38% compared to 26% of students), while the students achieved better results regarding the correct ratio of heart massage and ventilation during the CPR procedure (38% compared to 15% of teachers). Knowledge of proper handling of an unconscious person was satisfactory in both observed groups. Conclusion: First aid and CPR courses should be understood as lifelong learning programs that should be implemented at a young age and repeated regularly. Ambalaža u farmaceutskoj industriji ima značajnu ulogu jer je farmaceutska industrija u stalnom razvoju i napretku. Ona mora jamčiti kvalitetu lijekova i omogućiti sigurno skladištenje i transport. Teoretski dio rada opisuje materijale i oblike koji se koriste u farmaceutskoj industriji. Također, dio teoretskog dijela odnosit će se na operacije izrade kutije i pakiranja u iste. Operacije izrade kutije podrazumijevaju izradu nacrta kutije, štancanje, savijanje i lijepljenje prireza. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada utvrdit će se kritične točke proizvodnje te će biti predložena poboljšanja unutar tehnoloških postupaka izrade i punjenja kutija za lijekove. Načini poboljšanja i optimizacije tehnološkog procesa proizvodnje kutija i pakiranja lijekova u kutije uveliko mogu pospješiti cjelokupnu proizvodnju, uz manje zastoja i otpada. Za optimizaciju procesa koristit će se Lean metoda koja se zasniva na kontinuiranom poboljšanju proizvodnje. Primjenom Lean metode povećat će se produktivnost, uštedjeti vrijeme i troškovi proizvodnje, te osigurati bolja kontrola procesa proizvodnje.

Symbiotic green hydra (Hydra viridissima Pallas, 1766) and non-symbiotic brown hydra (Hydra oligactis Pallas, 1766) were exposed to the UVB-radiation and/or herbicide norfluorazon in order to determine their effect on extracellular layer mesoglea. The experiment was performed using crystallizing dishes 60 ml volume with either 50 ml of aquarium water or with two norflurazon solutions (2x10-6 and 2x10- 7 mol/L). Ten individuals of green and brown hydra respectively were placed in separate dishes and five individuals of each species were placed together in a dish. All specimens were exposed to UVBrays with a wavelength of 254 nm for two minutes. The second part of the experiment was performed in the same way except there was no UVB-radiation. Hydras placed in aquarium water were not exposed to the UVB-radiation, as a control group. The experiment was performed in triplicate for 72 hours and hydras were monitored every 24 hours. For slide preparation, standard histological methods were used and slides were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. ImageJ software was used for the morphometric measurements. Thickness of mesoglea was measured at 30 randomly selected segments on the histological slides, per particular treatment. Mesoglea was least thick in the samples of green and brown hydra exposed to UVB-radiation, while the greatest thickness was noted in the group of both species treated with norflurazon concentration of 2x10-7 mol/L. The results indicated that xenobiotics could have an impact on alteration of mesoglea thickness in hydra, which can affect physiological and regenerative processes in symbiotic and non-symbiotic hydras.

Dio hidri izložen je norflurazonu i zračen UVB-zračenjem valne dužine 254 nm 2 minute. Drugi dio pokusa je rađen tako da su hidrama dodane suspenzije slobodnoživuće alge Chlorella vulgaris (CV) i endosimbiotske alge Mychonastes homosphaera (CZ10) ili obje alge zajedno. Hidre s dodatkom algi su izlagane norflurazonu i zračene na isti način kao u prvom dijelu pokusa. Pratile su se morfološke promjene hidri: migracija, odgovor na mehanički podražaj, oblik tijela, oštećenje lovki, nespolno (pupanje) i spolno razmnožavanje te smrtnost. U eksperimentalnim posudicama s dodatkom algi pratile su se još boja otopine i prisustvo nakupina algi. Migracija hidri, promjena oblika tijela pretežno iz relaksiranog u kontrahirani oblik i spolno razmnožavanje bili su prvi znakovi izbjegavanja štetnog učinka UVB-zračenja ili norflurazona. Histološke promjene pratile su se svjetlosnim mikroskopom i brojale su se stanice ektoderma, gastroderma, intersticijske stanice, zimogene stanice i žarne stanice, a mjerena je i debljina mezogleje. Ugibale su samo zračene jedinke zelene hidre. Pri višoj koncentraciji norflurazona i u svim zračenim hidrama uočena su velika oštećenja u strukturi tkiva hidri. Zračenje je prouzročilo izrasline na lovkama i na tijelu hidre ili specifične rašljaste lovke The occurence of tumors on the body of hydra has already been reported in researches but this is the first study in which the individuals of symbiotic green hydra and nonsymbiotic brown hydra were exposed to UVB-radiation and /or norflurazon in order to induce tumors. The individuals of green hydra (Hydra viridissima Pallas, 1766) and brown hydra (Hydra oligactis Pallas, 1766), either separately or both species together, were treated with norflurazon in concentrations of 2x10-7 mol/L or 2x10-6 mol/L. A group of hydra was treated with norflurazon and exposed to UVB-radiation with a wavelenght of 254 nm for 2 minutes. The second part of the experiment was performed by adding suspensions of free-living algae Chlorella vulgaris (CV) or endosimbiotic Mychonastes homosphaera (CZ10) and both algae together. The group of hydra with algae suspension was treated with norflurazon and exposed to UVB-radiation in the same way as in the first part of the experiment. The following morphological changes of hydra were observed: migration, response to mechanical stimuli, body shape, damage to tentacles, asexual (budding) and sexual reproduction, and mortality. The experimental dishes with algae suspension were monitored for the change of solution color and the presence of algae blobs. Migration, change of body shape from relaxed to predominantly contracted, and sexual reproduction were identified as the first evasion signs of the deleterious effects of UVB-radiation and norflurazon. Histological changes were detected by light microscope, while ectoderm, gastroderm, interstitial, zymogen and cnidocyte cells were counted. The thickness of mesoglea was measured. Mortality was present in the individuals of green hydra that were exposed to UVB-radiation. Severe damage to the structure of hydra tissue was noted in hydra treated with high concentrations of norflurazon and in all hydra exposed to UVB-radiation. Radiation caused tissue growths on both tentacles and body of hydra as well as specific fork-shaped tentacles in hydra.

Dio hidri izložen je sinergističkom djelovanju norflurazona i UVB-zračenja valne duljine 254 nm tijekom 2 minute. Hidrama su dodane monokulture slobodnoživuće alge Chlorella vulgaris (CV) i endosimbiotske alge Mychonastes homosphaera (CZ10) ili suspenzija obje vrste zajedno. Pokus je u istim uvjetima izveden i bez dodatka algi. Praćeno je nespolno razmnožavanje (pupanje) hidri tijekom tri dana. U hidra s dodatkom algi nespolno razmnožavanje je bilo puno jače izraženo. Smeđa hidra je pupala u većem postotku od zelene hidre, izložena različitim tretmanima. Nespolno razmnožavanje je bio najveće trećeg dana, kada je pupalo i do 100% jedinki smeđe hidre. Bez dodatka algi hidre su se nespolno razmnožavale u puno manjem postotku. Time je ukazana uloga algi kao potencijalnih pojačivača/promotora nespolnog razmnožavanja hidri u akvakulturi. Green hydra (Hydra viridissima Pallas, 1766) and brown hydra (Hydra oligactis Pallas, 1766), either separately or both species together were treated with 2x10-7 and 2x10-6 mol/L of aqueous solution of herbicide norflurazon. Hydras were also exposed to synergistic treatment with norflurazon and UVB-radiation (λ=254 nm, 2 min). Monocultures of free-living alga Chlorella vulgaris (CV) and endosymbiotic alga Mychonastes homosphaera (CZ10) were added to the experimental dishes, either separatately or suspension of both species together. The experiment was also performed in the same experimental conditions without algal suspensions. Asexual reproduction (budding) of hydras was monitored for three days. In the samples with the addition of algae budding was extremely expressed. Brown hydra reproduced asexually more often when compared with green hydra, in different tested conditions. The largest percentage of asexual reproduction was present on the third day with up to 100% in brown hydras. Hydras without algal suspensions asexually reproduced in a much lower percentage. Algae proved to be potential promotors/enhancers of asexual reproduction of hydras in aquaculture.

Termin ekologija je prvi puta upotrijebljen 1866. godine od strane njemačkog biologa Haeckela i ima korijen u grčkoj riječi „oikos“ što znači „kuća“. Hrvatski opći leksikon (1996) navodi: „Ekologija je znanost o mnogostrukim odnosima između živih organizama i okoline u kojoj one žive (bilja, životinja)“. Ekologijom se bave posebno obrazovani stručnjaci koji se nazivaju ekolozi. Koncept održivog razvoja jedan je od najneusuglašenijih pojmova današnjice. WCED (eng. World Commission on Environment and Development) nam nudi ovu definiciju: „Održivi razvoj jest razvoj koji izlazi u susret potrebama današnjih generacija pri čemu se vodi računa da zadovoljavanje potreba današnjih generacija ne dovede u pitanje mogućnost budućih potreba da zadovolje svoje potrebe“ (WCED, 1987:46). “ „Na Zemaljskom samitu u Rio de Jaineiru, u Brazilu, 1992. godine, svjetske su vlade potpisale deklaraciju kojom su se obavezale da će „postići održiv napredak i veću kvalitetu života za sve ljude“. Održiv napredak znači da mi, danas, moramo dobiti sve potrebno za život, a da pri tome ne uništimo izglede ljudi u budućnosti. “ (Scott, 2004:153) Lay (2005:357) održivost definira kao sposobnost nekoga živog entiteta (bilo biološkog (biosfera), bilo socijalnog (društvo)) ili procesa kojega ovi entiteti svojim postojanjem, djelovanjem suproizvode da se načinom življenja i djelovanja (samo)održavaju, (samo)reproduciraju i (samo)obnavljaju. Odgoj i obrazovanje za održivi razvoj pojavljuje se kao ujedinjavajuća tema za brojne odgojno-obrazovne aktivnosti usmjerene prema različitim aspektima održivosti. Cilj obrazovanja za održivi razvoj je osposobiti današnje učenike za vrijeme koje dolazi, vrijeme u kojem će oni biti dio radno aktivnog stanovništva i donositi odgovorne odluke. Iznimno je važno među djecom i učenicima od najranije dobi razvijati pozivitne vrijednosti prema očuvanju okoliša te im osvijestiti da je moguće ostvariti ekonomski rast i razvoj koji ne narušava prirodnu ravnotežu. Ekološke aktivnosti kojima to postižemo razvrstavaju se u sljedeće kategorije: ekološke igre, ekološke aktivnosti i ekološke priče. Zamisao za projekt Zelena knjižnica nastala je krajem 2010. godine. Knjižnica Fakulteta za odgojne i obrazovne znanosti u Osijeku uključila se u projekt Zelena knjižnica, s ciljem osmišljavanja i provođenja programa koji bi doprinosili razvoju društva koje vodi brigu o svojoj planeti i životu na njoj. Stoga je Knjižnica Fakulteta za odgojne i obrazovne znanosti u suradnji sa Osnovnom školom „Vijenac“ u Osijeku, organizirala 5. lipnja 2017. godine eko-radionicu u trajanju od dva školska sata. Na njoj je glavna tema bila sve veća potreba za energijom, te o tome kako su prirodni resursi neobnovljivih energetskih izvora ograničeni, te se moramo okrenuti obnovljivim izvorima energije poput Sunca, vjetra, vode, biomase te plime i oseke. Uporaba obnovljivih izvora energije od iznimne je važnosti jer njihovom uporabom sprječavamo onečišćenje okoliša, osobito atmosfere, što se odražava na klimatske promjene, ali i na svakodnevni život. The term ecology was first used in 1866 by a German biologist Haeckel and has the root in the Greek word „oikos“ meaning „house“. Croatian general lexicon (1996): „Ecology is the science of multiple relationships between living organisms and the environment in which they live (plants, animals).“ Ecology is dealt with specially educated experts called ecologists. The concept of sustainable development is one of the most unconventional concepts of today. The WCED (World Commission on Environment and Development) provides us with this definition: „Sustainable development is a development that meets the needs of today's generations, taking care that satisfying the needs of today's generations does not jeopardize the prospect of future needs to meet their needs“ (WCED, 1987: 46).“ „At the Earth Summit in Rio de Jaineiro, Brazil, in 1992, world governments signed a declaration that they „will achieve sustainable progress and higher quality of life for all people“. Sustainable progress means that today, we must get everything we need to live without destroying people's prospects in the future. “(Scott, 2004: 153) Lay (2005:357) defined sustainability as the capacity of a living entity (either a biological (biosphere) or social (or society)) or a process by which these entities maintain their action, by acting as a means of living and acting (alone), (only) reproducing and (only) updated. Education and training for sustainable development appears as a unifying theme for a number of educational activities geared towards different aspects of sustainability. The goal of education for sustainable development is to enable today's pupils for the times that are coming, the time they will be part of a working active population and make responsible decisions. It is extremely important for children and young people to develop invigorating values to preserve the environment from the earliest age and to realize that it is possible to achieve economic growth and development that does not disturb the natural balance. The ecological activities that we accomplish are classified into the following categories: ecological games, ecological activities, and ecological stories. The idea for the Green Library project was created by the end of 2010. The Library of the Faculty of Educational Sciences in Osijek has been involved in the Green Library project, with the aim of designing and implementing programs that will contribute to the development of a society that takes care of their planet and life on it. Therefore, the Library of the Faculty of Educational Sciences in cooperation with the „Vijenac“ Primary School in Osijek organized an eco-workshop for two school hours on June 5, 2017. The main theme of the topic was the growing need for energy and how natural resources of non-renewable energy sources are limited, and we have to turn to renewable sources of energy such as the Sun, wind, water, biomass, and tide. The use of renewable energy sources is of utmost importance because by their use we prevent environmental pollution, especially in the Atmosphere, which is reflected in climate change but also in everyday life.

Europska Unija u svojim dokumentima već dugi niz godina naglašava važnost poznavanja stranih jezika u kontekstu njezine multinacionalnosti, kao i utjecaj poznavanja stranih jezika na gospodarstvo, zajedničko tržište, zapošljivost, mobilnost i cjeloživotno obrazovanje. Načelno, i hrvatski obrazovni sustav podržava ovakav stav, tj. prepoznaje važnost stranih jezika, pa tako i stranih jezika struke, te ih visoka učilišta uključuju u studijske programe na razne načine, na raznim razinama i u raznim statusima. No, u praksi je često razina prepoznavanja ujedno i zadnja razina, koju ne slijedi konkretna institucionalna i organizacijska podrška, a strani jezici često su smatrani manje važnim ili manje ozbiljnim predmetima u odnosu na tzv. „predmete struke“, tj. predmete usko povezane uz konkretnu struku za koju studijski program obrazuje studente, pri čemu se zanemaruje vrlo jasna i čvrsta poveznica stranih jezika struke upravo s tom strukom S druge strane, tržište rada ima precizno definirane i artikulirane potrebe za radnicima, što se najzornije ogleda kroz natječaje za radna mjesta. Analiza sadržaja portala Moj Posao, popularnog hrvatskog portala za objavljivanje oglasa za posao, u kategoriji Ekonomija, financije i računovodstvo, provedena tri puta u vremenskom razdoblju od 8 mjeseci, pokazuje da je u većini oglasa kao jedan od uvjeta navedeno poznavanje stranog jezika (često i s navedenom razinom), što potvrđuje hipotezu da znanje bar jednog stranog jezika podiže razinu zapošljivosti kandidata jer omogućuje javljanje na znatno veći broj natječaja. Slijedom toga zaključka, a pod pretpostavkom da je cilj studijskih programa omogućiti studentima stjecanje znanja i vještina s kojima će biti konkurentni na tržištu rada, pri čemu je poznavanje stranih jezika nužnost, ponovo se postavlja pitanje opravdanosti marginalizacije stranih jezika i stranih jezika struke na visokim učilištima, koja se manifestira na razne načine: smanjenjem broja ECTS bodova, smanjenjem satnice, promjenom statusa iz obaveznih u izborne predmete, i/ili održavanjem nastave u neadekvatnim uvjetima (prevelike grupe, nepovoljan raspored itd.).

Japanska riječ "ikigai" sastavljena je od riječi "iki", što znači život ili biti živ i "gai", što znači "ono što je vrijedno" te bi doslovan prijevod bio "ono zbog čega vrijedi živjeti". Metoda "ikigai" označava ravnotežu između nečije prošlosti, sadašnjosti i budućnosti u svrhu potpunog ostvarenja, razvojem vlastitih talenata. Knjiga ima tri cjeline, od kojih se u prvoj, Putovanje kroz našu budućnost (Tokio), radi o učinku "shinkasen" i ostalim tehnikama za stvaranje velikih osobnih projekata i razvijanje unutarnje discipline kao preduvjeta za njihovo ispunjenje. Slijedi Putovanje kroz vlastitu prošlost, s vježbama za ponovno otkrivanje svojih korijena i izgradnju osobnog trampolina na temelju iskustava (Kyoto), dok je treća cjelina Putovanje našom sadašnjošću (Ise), o integriranju vlastite prošlosti i budućnosti u vječnu sadašnjost. Na posljetku je navedeno 35 osnovnih načela da bi se živio svoj "ikigai".

36. Samoprocjena i suradnička procjena znanja u nastavi stranoga jezika struke

Samoprocjena i suradnička procjena znanja alternativne su metode procjene znanja i davanja povratnih informacija, a u svojoj su osnovi strategije koje studentima daju veću autonomiju pri učenju jezika struke, budući da im omogućuju praćenje vlastitoga napretka (tj. napretka svojih kolega) temeljem jasno određenih kriterija. Najčešće se provode putem upitnika za samoprocjenu, a moguće je koristiti i druge načine samoprocjene/suradničke procjene znanja, kao što su, primjerice, intervju, kontrolni popis (eng. check-list), rubrike, vođenje dnevnika, izrada vremenske crte napretka itd. Primjenom ovih metoda procjene znanja studenti stječu uvid u tijek svoga učenja i u svoj napredak, uče primijetiti promjene, kao i uočiti svoje jake strane i potencijalne poteškoće te definirati svoje ciljeve i očekivanja. Osim toga, osvješćuju kriterije prema kojima se znanje procjenjuje. No, možda najvažnije jest to da mogu naučiti učinkovitije komunicirati s nastavnikom o svome učenju i napretku, a tako i podići razinu interaktivnosti nastave. Problem mogu predstavljati nedovoljno precizno pripremljeni instrumenti za samoprocjenu, ali i nedovoljno educirani nastavnici, koji, posljedično, studentima ne daju dovoljno jasne upute za samoprocjenu ili suradničku procjenu znanja. Na primjerima kolegija Engleski jezik za projektni menadžment I i Engleski jezik za projektni menadžment II, koji se izvode na prvoj godini poslijediplomskoga specijalističkog studija Projektni menadžment na Veleučilištu Baltazar Zaprešić, prikazat će se pokušaj primjene samoprocjene i suradničke procjene znanja, metode procjene znanja koje su uvedene s ciljem povećanja usmjerenosti kolegija na studente, tj. pozicioniranja studenta u središte nastavnoga procesa. Razmotrit će se pozitivne i negativne strane primjene ovih alternativnih metoda procjene znanja.

Ovim radom provodena je optimalizacija vodoopskrbnog sustava za naselja Frkljevci, Kadanovci, Bilice, Zagrađe, Bučje i Brodski Drenovac koji se nalaze u okolici grada Pleternice, na području Požeško-slavonske županije, gdje se analizom vodoopskrbnog sustava došlo se do zaključka da je na dijelu promatranog vodoopskrbnog sustava potrebno izvršiti optimalizaciju gubitaka. Provedena su terenska mjerenja temeljem kojih je izrađen matematički model te su postavljena dva regulatora tlaka od kojih je jedan smanjio tlakove sa 3.9 bara na 2.5 bara, a drugi sa 6.5 bara na 2.5 bara. Smanjenje tlakova dovelo je do smanjenja gubitaka vode za 9,0%. Rad je koncipiran u nekoliko cjelina. U uvodu je opisan vodoopskrbni sustav, njegove značajke i karakteristike. U drugoj cjelini optimalizacija sustava općenito. U trećoj cjelini su opisani načini određivanja gubitaka, pronalaženja gubitaka te povezanosti pada tlaka i gubitaka. U četvrtoj cjelini je obrađen primjer optimalizacije za dana naselja. I na kraju je dan zaključak koji se osvrće na rad u cjelini., This paper was aimed to analyse water supply system of the areas of Frkljevci, Kadanovci, Bilice, Zagrađe, Bučje and Brodski Drenovac situated in the surrounding of The Town of Pleternica, in the area of Pozega-slavonia county, where upon the analyses of water supply system a conclusion rose; in the area of the observed water supply system it is necessary to conduct optimisation of water losses. Field measurements were conducted and used as the base for a mathematical model along with the establishment of two pressure regulators out of which one regulator decreased pressure from 3,9 bars to 2,5 bars, and the second one from 6,5 bars to 2,5 bars. The pressure decrease led to water loss reduction by 9,0%. The paper consists of several units. Water supply system has been described in the introduction part, along with its significances and characteristics; in the second unit optimisation of system in general; in third unit ways of loss determination, loss detection and relation between pressure decrease and losses. In the fourth unit an example of optimisation for stated areas has been elaborated. And in the end, a conclusion was provided that summarises the paper in whole.

Na kraju knjige navedeno je deset zakona izvedenih iz mudrosti staraca Ogimija, sela s najvećim indeksom dugovječnosti na svijetu.

Role play is not a new and revolutionary tool in teaching foreign languages. However, it is often re-discovered because of its effectiveness and flexibility — it provides a realistic context, since it imitates a real-life situation, in which students can develop their listening and speaking skills, but also put into practice their knowledge of specific terminology and/or grammar. It is especially useful in ESP classrooms because it can be used to develop and assess students’ skills. The basic assumption is that role play is an experience developed around a scenario which contains two or more different viewpoints or perspectives. These different perspectives on the same situation are prepared as written instructions (roles) and are handed out to different students, who then discuss the situation. The students are usually also given a particular objective that they are instructed to reach, which can result in conflict with their fellow role player/s. In order for such interaction to be successful, the objectives and the instructions need to be clear. The workshop will provide an example of role play use for teaching the language of meetings with Project Management graduate students (second cycle higher education) and give some ideas on how to spice things up.

Formativna procjena znanja može se definirati kao kontinuirano praćenje napretka studenata i kontinuirano davanje povratnih informacija o napretku s ciljem unaprjeđivanja učenja jer studentima ukazuje na područja koja su slabije svladali. Tako pomaže i studentima i nastavnicima da prepoznaju problematična područja te ih usmjerava da prilagodbom podučavanja s jedne strane i učenja s druge problematično gradivo zajednički svladaju. Takva procjena znanja odlično se uklapa u podučavanje stranoga jezika struke na visokoškolskoj razini jer se ne fokusira samo na završni ispit, tj. na ocjenjivanje uspjeha studenata na pisanome ili usmenome dijelu ispita, što je za studente često i najveći pokretač u obrazovanju, već u obzir uzima i aktivnosti, tj. učenje koje se odvija tijekom samoga nastavnog procesa. Naime, nastava stranih jezika na bilo kojoj razini podrazumijeva visok stupanj interakcije učenika i nastavnika, a davanje povratnih informacija prepoznato je kao bitan element te interakcije. Formativna procjena znanja može na studente djelovati motivirajuće jer na taj način „grade“ svoju ocjenu, odnosno mogu pratiti svoj napredak i razvoj tijekom trajanja kolegija. Studenti tako dobivaju proaktivnu ulogu u obrazovnom procesu, stječu naviku procjenjivanja vlastitoga rada i prognoziranja uspjeha. Nadalje, formativna procjena znanja nastavniku omogućuje jednostavnije i transparentnije procjene dostizanja ishoda učenja. Osim toga, otvara mogućnosti za uvođenje suradničkoga učenja, suradničke procjene znanja i/ili samoprocjene znanja, korištenje rubrika za ocjenjivanje te uporabu informacijskih tehnologija za potporu. Na primjerima kolegija Engleski jezik za financije, koji se u održava u sklopu Specijalističkoga diplomskog studija Financijski menadžment, te kolegija Engleski jezik za projektni menadžment, koji se održava u sklopu Specijalističkoga diplomskog studija Projektni menadžment na Veleučilištu Baltazar Zaprešić, pokazat će se neke uočene prednosti ovoga pristupa ocjenjivanju za strani jezik struke naspram klasičnoga sumativnoga ocjenjivanja.

Alfonsina Storni, Gabriela Mistral y Juana de Ibarbourou son indudablemente tres poetas centrales de la poesía hispanoamericana de la primera mitad del siglo XX. Aunque representan una continuación lógica de una larga tradición, expresan su tiempo específico, de acuerdo con la situación social, cultural y política del momento. Es evidente que las tres poetas no son feministas en el sentido moderno de la palabra pero es obvio que desarrollan sus modos de expresión específicos que influyen en el cambio del canon literario y en cambios en la percepción pública de la mujer como poeta. Para demostrarlo, se comparan los motivos literarios más frecuentes de las tres autoras, se ubican en las condiciones sociales, comparándolos con el «marco permitido» y observando la transgresión que las tres hacen.

The ELT classroom cannot remain separate from the predominantly visual world in which it is located, where both the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ media are bursting with images, where most students are visual learners and where the proverb ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’ applies more than ever. Visual tools, such as pictures and videos in any available format, can be used for a wide range of activities, from speaking and writing to enhancing students' vocabulary and grammar skills because the simultaneous visual and auditory input provided by visual tools facilitates both teaching and learning foreign languages. According to studies, learners can record images and words in their memories and recall them later in image and/or word forms. In addition, using visual aids has proven to be a great motivational tool for students and teachers alike, as it provides the teachers with the opportunity to express their creativity in preparing new teaching materials. This paper focuses on using visual tools in teaching English as a foreign language at tertiary level, with an emphasis on the role of visual tools in facilitating the teaching and learning of language content widely considered to be ‘difficult’, or at least unpopular (e.g. conditionals, modal verbs, tenses, phrasal verbs and collocations). The paper will provide an overview of the experience in using visual tools with first-year business and cultural management students at the University of Applied Sciences Baltazar Zaprešić, Croatia and the workshop will provide some useful practical examples of classroom-ready exercises.

Online rasprava jedan je od alata koje nudi tzv. Isprepleteno učenje (eng. blended learning), a koji se koristi u nastavi kolegija Engleski jezik na stručnom diplomskom specijalističkom studiju Projektni menadžment na Veleučilištu Baltazar Zaprešić. Već drugu godinu tijekom online dijela kolegija, koji se odvija na platformi Moodle, studenti sudjeluju u dvjema online raspravama s temama iz područja projektnog menadžmenta, a temeljem kojih stječu bodove koji se ubrajaju u konačnu ocjenu. Boduju se tri elementa: relevantnost odgovora, struktura odgovora te uporaba specifičnih stručnih termina. Povratne informacije studenata su dobre, a studenti spremnije sudjeluju u takvoj vrsti rasprave nego u tradicionalnoj raspravi uživo koja se odvija u učionici, što pozitivno utječe na vještinu pisanja i usvajanje stručnoga vokabulara. No, na drugom kolegiju koji se isto tako dijelom izvodi online - Znanost o kulturi, na usmjerenju Menadžment u kulturi preddiplomskog stručnog studija Poslovanje i upravljanje - reakcije studenata bile su uglavnom negativne, a cilj aktivnosti nije bio postignut. Analiza i usporedba tih dviju nastavnih situacija tema su ovoga izlaganja.

The current generation of students, worldwide known as the Millennials, have caused the university campuses globally to reconsider the way they provide education, services and create community. The Millennials are strongly influenced by technology, social media, and have high expectations for individualized services. All this has to be connected with their focus on peer- relationships, innovation and multiculturalism. Teachers often wonder how to capitalize their creativity and their need for connections. University of Applied Sciences Balthazar initiated a number of projects that involve blended learning, on-line learning and creating on-line communities. In parallel to the analyses of programmes offered by UAS Baltazar as part of preparations for future accreditations and reaccreditations of current and new programmes, UAS Baltazar will be engaged in an action research about needs and learning habits of Millennials. In the future, the research will be cross-referenced with the planned and investigated course outcomes with the purpose of improvement of programmes and teacher capacity building. In this paper, the first phase of the action research is being developed, consisting of literature research on global characteristics of Millennials, relevant for the education process and accessible data on Millennials in UAS Balthazar.

Uz udžbenik English for Project Management based on IPMA Competence Baseline, koji je izdala Visoka škola za poslovanje i upravljanje „B. A. Krčelić” uz potporu IPMA-inog Odbora za edukaciju i trening, ukazala se potreba i za specijaliziranim glosarom ključnih pojmova koji bi studentima olakšao usvajanje nastavnog sadržaja te je takav glosar uključen u udžbenik. Taj je glosar poslužio kao inspiracija te je na korpusu ICB-a 3.0 sastavljen Mali trojezični rječnik projektnoga menadžmenta, koji uz izvorno englesko nazivlje, nudi i istovrijednice na hrvatskom i slovenskom jeziku, a mogao bi poslužiti kao temelj za uređivanje i usklađivanje hrvatskog stručnog nazivlja za područje upravljanja projektima. U „Struni”, terminološkoj bazi hrvatskoga strukovnog nazivlja pri Institutu za hrvatski jezik i jezikoslovlje, trenutno je javnosti dostupno usklađeno nazivlje šesnaest različitih struka. Autorice smatraju da bi uključivanje struke „Projektni menadžment” u „Strunu” pridonijelo afirmiranju projektnog menadžmenta kao struke te olakšao rad nastavnicima, studentima i prevoditeljima. To je ujedno i prijedlog intedisciplinarnog projekta u koji bi bili uključeni stručnjaci iz područja projektnog menadžmenta, jezikoslovlja, nastavnici i prevoditelji

Informacijske tehnologije velikim su koracima zakoračile u obrazovanje i pritom nisu zaobišle predavaonice stranih jezika, ponekad stvarajući jaz između nastavnika – “digitalnih pridošlica” i studenata – “digitalnih urođenika”, koristeći terminologiju koju je uveo M. Prensky. U novom okruženju postavljaju se brojna pitanja. Primjerice, je li generacijska razlika nužno i uzrok jaza, ili do njega dolazi zbog nepoklapanja stilova učenja i stilova poučavanja? Trebaju li nastavnici prilagoditi svoj stil poučavanja studentima i njihovim stilovima učenja i imaju li “novi” studenti neke nove stilove učenja, s obzirom na nove tehnologije kojima se služe, ili je proces učenja u osnovi ostao isti? Treba li tehnologiju prihvatiti objeručke, odnosno je li ona problem ili rješenje? I naposlijetku, najvažnije pitanje: kako to utječe na nastavu stranih jezika? Na ova pitanja ponuđeni su odgovori koji proizlaze iz iskustva poučavanja engleskog jezika kao jezika struke na Visokoj školi za poslovanje i u pravljanje “B. A. One of the eight competencies for lifelong learning defined by the EU Reference Framework is communication in foreign languages. Based on the assumption that formal education should prepare students for lifelong learning, foreign language learning (and teaching) at the graduate level of professional studies at the Baltazar Adam Krčelić College of Business and Management form Zaprešić, Croatia has moved into the area of LSP (Language for Specific Purposes) because of the demands of the students and the labour market. This paper will give an overview of this process. The problem encountered was the lack of adequate teaching materials that would fit into the integrated model of teaching foreign languages and core courses. The solution was preparing our own materials that would be tailored according to the needs of our students and the specificities of our teaching reality, such as large multi- level groups and the dynamics of short intense courses. The current result is one published LSP textbook (English for Project Management) and two textbooks in preparation. The emphasis in foreign languages teaching, and consequently in the preparation of teaching materials, is placed on combining foreign language competencies with the core subject competencies, while developing thinking skills and another EU Reference Framework competency – learning to learn.
