'Sleepy Hollow' opens in the UK on January 7 2000. The film, which is directed by Tim Burton, is based on the novel 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' by Washington Irving. The film is set in 1799 and stars Johnny Depp as Ichabod Crane, with Christina Ricci as Katrina, and Christopher Walken as a supernatural creature. 'Sleepy Hollow' fits in the horror movie genre, however, despite numerous murders, including several decapitations, the film fails to generate fear.

Jacques Tourneur's 'Cat People' is one of two films produced by Val Lewton which are to be re-released in the UK in October 1999. The film stars Irena Dubrovna and Oliver Reed and was followed a year later by Gunther V. Fritsch and Robert Wise's 'The Curse of the Cat People', which is the second film to be re-released.
