Based on current data and documents available from relevant statistical organizations, this paper presents and analyzes statistical and economic indicators of software product development in Serbia, with a parallel review of adequate data for the European Union. A descriptive method for comparative analysis was used for the analysis of data related to the number of enterprises, number of employees, average realized earnings per employee, and the realized turnover in Telecommunications, Computer programming, and Information sectors. Due to considerable differences in terms of areas that countries cover and the strength of their economies, trends in the mentioned areas and monitored and analyzed parameters (e.g. employment, average earnings and total exports, i.e. turnover of services) were observed. The obtained results indicate that Serbia has exceptional potential in the field of computer programming, while other activities in the field of information dissemination and communication, for now, do not record significant growth. On the other hand, in the European Union, the analyzed areas show stability of the analyzed parameters in the observed period. This indicates that a high level of development has been reached in the EU and that significant progress is now being made more slowly. With this development trend, the field of computer programming will probably be the first economic area in which Serbia can catch up with the European level.

The primary attention in considering the fact that the percentage of hazardous chemicals consumption is inversely proportionate to the quality of ecological potential as one of the basic principles of rural development, which has direct implications for the development of agritourism, the research into the consumption of hazardous chemicals covering the period from 2011 to 2015 in the Republic of Serbia in comparison to EU 28 was conducted. The research was focused on the consumption of hazardous chemicals by divisions of Classification of activities, the consumption of hazardous chemicals by toxicity classes (A-E), and the analysis of the hazardous chemicals consumption by regions in the Republic of Serbia. The results obtained reveal the consumption of all hazardous chemicals classes per capita in Serbia is significantly lower than in the EU, and that the share of the most toxic classes is lower. Additionally, the trend of hazardous chemicals consumption is decreasing in Serbia, and stagnates in the EU. Particularly low consumption is registered in Southern and Eastern region as well as Sumadia and Western region, pointing out at the potential of these regions for development of agritourism based on this fact.

Questionnaire‐based consumer research was conducted in Serbia, as a country in a long post‐socialist transition. The focus was on consumers' opinions of benefits and attitudes which motivate companies to act in a socially responsible way. Analysis resulted in a division of CSR motives into two main clusters: cluster I—stakeholder and value‐driven motives, and cluster II—egoistic motives, performance, and market‐driven motives. The division obviously concerned motives which were the socialist legacy (endogenous motives in cluster I), and motives imported from open market economies (exogenous motives in cluster II). Consumers' perceptions are significantly different for endogenous and exogenous CSR motives. Exogenous motives are perceived as principal companies' motives to practice CSR, but there are no significant correlations between the perception of these motives and consumers' purchase decisions. Endogenous, value, and stakeholder‐driven motives are perceived in a significantly lower degree as CSR motivators with highly divided consumers' opinions and female consumers rating them significantly higher. Consumers' purchase decisions are in a statistically significant positive correlation with attribution of endogenous, value, and stakeholders' needs‐driven motives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Microsatellite markers (SSR) were used to study wheat genetic diversity. A set of 87 wheat genotypes was analysed with four SSR markers. Primers used for the amplification of adequate microsatellite loci (Xgwm) are according to RÖDER et al. (2002). Results were obtained using Applied Biosystems 3130 genetic analyser. Total of 28 alleles were determined, i.e. average of 7 alleles per marker. Number of alleles for individual markers ranged from six (Xgwm3) to eight (Xgwm18). The presence of two null alleles for Xgwm18 and Xgwm155 was found. There were five rare alleles (frequency <2%). Polymorphism information content (PIC) values ranged from 0.52 for Xgwm408 to 0.80 for Xgwm18. Mean PIC value was 0.69 for all markers, which signifies a high level of the detected polymorphism. According to the data collected through the analysis of four markers, most genotypes can be grouped in clusters. The results show usefulness of microsatellite markers in detecting polymorphism, identifying genotypes and assessing genetic diversity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
