Syfte: Det övergripande syftet med uppsatsen är en vidareutveckling av agensbegreppet. I uppsatsen undersöks skildringar av aktörer och strukturer med hjälp av agensbegreppet. Agens används för att möta skildringar som uttrycks i svenska historieläroböcker mellan åren 1942–2022, i förhållande till det historiska sammanhanget som jag beskriver som europeiska geografiska världsresor, mellan åren 1400–1600. För att undersöka beskrivningar av agens och avsaknad agens operationaliseras agensbegreppet, vilket dessutom undersöks vidare som historiedidaktiskt perspektiv samt verktyg. Teori: Den teoretiska utgångspunkten i uppsatsen bygger i huvudsak på Roberto Ungersförståelse av agensbegreppet, vilket grundas i synen på relationen mellan aktör och struktur samt förståelsen av agens som avgörande för att förstå samverkan mellan samhälle och aktörer. I uppsatsens utvecklas Ungers teori och förenas med historiedidaktiska perspektiv för att kontextualisera relationen mellan aktör och struktur samt för att nyansera skildringar av agens. Detta leder fram till uppsatsens två modeller, varav den ena formulerar den teoretiska utgångspunkten och den andra föreslår en nyansering av agens och avsaknad agens enligt fyra kategoriseringar: acceptans, tolerans, aktion och motstånd. Metod: För att undersöka skildringar av agens och avsaknad agens används uppsatsens fyra kategoriseringar: acceptans, tolerans, aktion samt motstånd. Begreppen används i förhållande till det empiriska underlaget för att uppfatta skildringar av agens och avsaknad agens genom att koda ett avgränsat historiskt område kopplat till europeiska geografiska världsresor mellan åren 1400–1600. Resultat: Resultaten visar att med stöd i uppsatsens fyra agensbegrepp, kan skildringar i det empiriska underlaget, analyseras och nyanseras genom att peka på ett huvudsakligt narrativ. Det huvudsakliga narrativet pekar på en marginell skillnad i framställningen av europeiska aktörer och utomeuropeiska aktörer. Europeiska aktörer t, Purpose: The overarching purpose of this thesis is to further develop the concept of agency. The thesis examines depictions of actors and structures using the concept of agency. Agency is employed to analyze representations found in Swedish history textbooks from 1942 to 2022, in relation to the historical context described as European geographic explorations between the years 1400 and 1600. To investigate descriptions of agency and the absence of agency, the concept is operationalized, and its application as both a historiographical perspective and a pedagogical tool is further explored. Theory: The theoretical foundation of this thesis is primarily based on Roberto Unger's understanding of the concept of agency, which is rooted in the relationship between actor and structure and the recognition of agency as crucial for understanding the interaction between society and actors. In this thesis, Unger's theory is expanded and integrated with historiographical perspectives to contextualize the relationship between actor and structure, and to refine depictions of agency. This leads to the development of two models in the thesis: one that articulates the theoretical framework and another that proposes a nuanced understanding of agency and the absence of agency through four categorizations: acceptance, tolerance, action, and resistance. Method: To investigate depictions of agency and the absence of agency, the thesis employs the four categorizations: acceptance, tolerance, action, and resistance. These concepts are applied to the empirical material to discern depictions of agency and the absence of agency by coding a specific historical area linked to European geographic explorations between 1400 and 1600. Results: The results indicate that, with the support of the thesis's four concepts of agency, depictions within the empirical material can be analyzed and nuanced by identifying a primary narrative. Syftet är att undersöka statliga styrdokument (Lpo 94 och Lgr 11) i relation till Waldorfskolans kompletterande styrdokument. Styrdokumenten undersöks genom en diskursanalys utifrån begreppen aktör och struktur, med hjälp av det analytiska begreppet agens. Frågeställning för arbetet lyder som följande: På vilka sätt konstrueras och representeras aktörer och strukturer utifrån begreppet agens samt vilka diskursiva mönster går att utläsa i Lpo 94, Lgr 11 och Waldorfskolans respektive kompletterande styrdokument för historieämnet? Vid genomförande av arbetet används ett diskursanalytiskt förhållningssätt, i relation till teoretiska begrepp. Arbetet utgår därför från både konstruktivistisk och socialkonstruktivistisk teori. Arbetet har sin grund i kvalitativ forskningsmetod, med diskursanalys som utgångspunkt. Genom en diskursanalys synliggörs bakomliggande diskursiva mönster, som analyseras med hjälp av den teoretiska modellen. Den teoretiska modellen bygger på en cirkulär förståelse genom: representanter för makthavande, utsagor, analogikedjor och diskursiva mönster. Lpo 94 och Lgr 11 har en tydlig strukturalistisk prägel, och framför strukturer som överordnade aktörer. I Lpo 94 kan agens endast utläsas implicit, medan Lgr 11 möjliggör större utrymme för aktörspåverkan. I En väg till frihet (2007) och (2016) utläses en underliggande strukturalistisk prägel, trots att aktör och struktur framskrivs i en dualistisk samverkan. Agens kan därför utläsas vid flertalet tillfällen, eftersom aktören tilldelas handlingsutrymme. De statliga styrdokumenten innehåller tydliga strukturalistiska diskursiva mönster, med en total avsaknad av individuellt aktörskap och agens. Kollektiva aktörer framställs som underordnade strukturen, vilket kan ha en negativ påverkan på elevens bild av sin egen förmåga att påverka. This overview has examined the research situation regarding the historical concept: use of history and the factors that weigh heavily are the concept's definition, categorization and function. Since the use of history is part of de-facto governing documents on the subject of history in Sweden. This makes this subject particularly interesting to examine and how the research situation treats the concept. Great thinkers like Friedrich Nietzsche coined the term use of history early on, which has produced its own interpretation and perspective of how people relate and use history in different contexts. The definition of the concept is thus given different emphasis by different researchers, who believe that history can be categorized into typologies. But there are also other approaches to the use of history, which often means that history is used to achieve a future purpose. The question of whether there is a correct way to use the past is a further current question in the discourse. The use or abuse of history is therefore caught in the eye in some discussions. Although a broad consensus of scholars shows that history has a real effect here and now and interacts with the present, whether one wishes so or not.
