3. Masculinity in advertising: The power of verbal cue.

The portrayal of men in print advertisements has been less attentive subject in comparison to woman depiction analysis, even though research on gender advertising has increased over the last decades. This paper examines the effectiveness of print advertisements in which the visual ad register was developed at the level of the "iconogram" of a muscular mesomorph. Comparing the findings of numerous studies which indicate less affective response towards the images of nudity of the same gender, a hypothesis was proposed: the effectiveness mediator of advertisements is the verbal cue of the advertisement when a universal quantifier of muscular mesomorph is being used. In the first study, we conducted the content analysis to target the most frequent representation of a man in advertisements for health and beauty products. The second study was designed to test the proposed hypothesis using photographs from International Affective Picture System database. The stimuli were in a form of advertisements designed for the purpose of research combining IAPS images and the verbal cue. The experiment included 100 male students aged 20 to 31. Overall, our findings confirm negative response to male pictures (ads without verbal cue) when the figure is not fully dressed. However, we discover that visual register significantly affects the increase self-reported positive valence ratings, in health and beauty ads for men when they are depicted as iconogram of muscular mesomorph. This study contributes to our understanding of how male consumers respond to same-sex imagery in print advertisements when there is not fully dressed muscular mesomorph depicted. 4. Visibility and legibility of five-letter words in different experimental conditions.

The length of a word depends on the number of characters that make it up. Since we are constantly confronted with words (information), a suitable typeface should be chosen to make reading comfortable and easy. The number of characters can affect how visible a word is and, more importantly, how quickly the word can be read and understood. For this reason, we conducted tests with five-letter words randomly displayed at the four positions on the screen. The study examined the minimum time required to recognize five-letter words. Five different typefaces (Calibri, Georgia, Swiss 721, Trebuchet, Verdana) were included in the study to determine which of the screen typefaces read the fastest. The Georgia typeface performed the best regardless of the other conditions. The time to read upper-case letters was much shorter than lower-case and sentence-case letters. For words presented in the upper positions of the screen, the recognition time was shorter than for the lower positions of the screen. 12. On-screen text legibility among Croatian and Slovenian language groups

The aim of the study was to examine the influence of serif and sans serif typefaces on the legibility of texts. Six typefaces took part in the experiment. Three of the tested typefaces were sans serif (Tahoma, Arial, Verdana), while the other three (Georgia, Times News Roman, Palatino) were serif typefaces. The main difference in the presented typefaces is in the purpose for which a certain typeface was made. Mainly, the presented typefaces were produced for printing purposes ; however, they still have the features which are suitable for an on-screen presentation. Two of the typefaces (Georgia, Verdana) were especially designed for screen use and should thus be better accepted by the viewers. Nevertheless, the results show that the suitability of typefaces according to theoretical knowledge is not as expected. The goal was to investigate how six different typefaces affect the reading speed and comprehension of presented text. The participants were Croatian and Slovenian students who took the test in the English language.

Large amount of information that we accept is predominantly transmitted through the screens. Communication through the screens is imminent thing, but we try to make it smoother and user-friendlier. The clearance and visibility of typefaces at different viewing conditions is an important aspect when information should impact on people. The use of appropriate typefaces is in consequence undoubtedly important while the design of typefaces differs for print and screen use. There is little attention on which typefaces we choose when we make screen information presentation. Tests on the typefaces performance are for this reason important. Two groups of participants (all together 50 people) took part in the study. Tests were performed in three languages (Slovene, Croatian, English). Tested typefaces (Verdana, Tahoma, Georgia), which were designed for screen use, took part in our testing. The aim of our study was to examine the influence of typefaces on the legibility among students.

In this paper we discuss the general equation of motion for yarn in a rotating coordinate system. This equation is often used to describe the motion of yarn that is unwinding from packages. The rotating coordinate system is non-inertial and the equation of motion therefore contains fictitious forces. We comment on the physical significance of fictitious forces that appear in a non-inertial frame and we devote particular attention to a less known Euler force that only appears in non-uniformly rotating frames. We show that this force should be taken into account when the unwinding point is near the edges of the package, when the quasi-stationary approximation is not valid because the angular velocity is changing with time. The additional force has an influence on the yarn dynamics in this transient regime, where the movement of yarn becomes complex and can lead to yarn slipping and even breaking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Namen izdelanega diplomskega dela je bil oblikovati poenoten in prenovljen označevalni sistem, ki bi potnike vodil po vseh možnih različicah javnega prevoza v Ljubljani. Namen končnega izdelka je zagotoviti lažjo orientacijo ob uporabi javnih prevoznih sredstev, objektih ter okolici, do koder sega javni prevoz. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela so s pomočjo strokovnih virov definirane in opisane glavne lastnosti in elementi, ki so pomembni, da skupaj tvorijo celoten, učinkovit in funkcionalen označevalni sistem. Opisana je vloga piktogramov, vloga barv ter tipografije v označevalnih sistemih. Poleg tega je opisan tudi krajši pregled zgodovine Ljubljanskega potniškega prometa ter Slovenskih železnic in krajša analiza referenčnih primerov označevalnih sistemov. V eksperimentalnem delu sta analizirana že obstoječa označevalna sistema Ljubljanskega potniškega prometa in Slovenskih železnic ter njuna primernost. V tem delu so analizirani ključni elementi, kot so izbira črkovne vrste, konsistenčnost in doslednost pri oblikovanju piktogramov ter izbira barvne palete. Namen diplomskega dela je bil na podlagi analiziranih elementov izboljšati in izbrati ustreznejše elemente, kot so tipografija, barve in novo oblikovani simboli, ki bi skupaj tvorili poenoteno celoto. Za izvedbo eksperimentalega dela smo uporabili programe Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator in InDesign. V njih smo upodobili, izmerili in izbrali vse zgoraj naštete elemente. Eksperimentali del zajema opis izdelave in oblikovanja novih piktogramov od postavitve mreže, določanja mer v mreži ter parametrov pri oblikovanju novih simbolov, izbire barv, do primerjave dveh črkovnih vrst in ugotavljanja njune primernosti za označevalni sistem. Na podlagi teh elementov smo izboljšali in nadgradili označevalni sistem. Sledi še zadnji del diplomskega dela, v katerem je predstavljen sklop novo oblikovanih piktogramov, ki so poenoteni, imajo konsistenten izgled in kompleksnost. Upodobljeni so z novo izbrano barvno paleto. Predstavljene so novo oblikovane kartice, ki so poenostavljene in modernizirane. Nazadnje so predstavljeni novo oblikovani smerokazi, ki potnike vodijo do avtobusnih postajališč po Ljubljani in železniške postaje v Ljubljani. The purpose of the diploma thesis was to design a unified and renewed marking system that would guide passengers through all possible versions of public transport in Ljubljana. The purpose of the final product is to provide easier orientation when using public transport, facilities and surroundings to where public transport reaches. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, with the help of professional sources, the main elements are defined and described, which are important to create a complete, efficient and functional marking system. The role of pictograms, the role of colors and typography in marking systems is described. In addition, a brief overview of the history of Ljubljana passenger traffic and Slovenian Railways is also described, as well as a brief analysis of reference examples of marking systems. In the experimental part, the already existing marking systems of Ljubljana passenger traffic and Slovenian Railways are analyzed and so is their suitability. In this part, key elements such as the choice of typeface, consistency, consistency in the design of pictograms and the choice of color palette are analyzed. The goal of the thesis was to improve and select more appropriate elements, such as typography, colors and newly designed symbols, based on the analyzed elements, which together would form a unified whole. To carry out the experimental work, we used Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. In them, we depicted, measured and selected all the elements listed above. The experimental part includes a description of the production and design of new pictograms. From setting up the grid, determining dimensions in the grid and parameters for creating new symbols, choosing colors, to comparing two types faces and determining their suitability for the marking system. Based on these elements, we improved and upgraded the marking system. The last part of the diploma thesis presents a set of newly designed pictograms, which are unified, have a consistent appearance and complexity. They are rendered with a newly selected color palette. Newly designed cards are introduced, which are simplified and modernized. Finally, the newly designed wayfinding is presented, which guides passengers to bus stops around Ljubljana and the railway station in Ljubljana.

Pisave so pomembno orodje za vizualno komunikacijo in vplivajo na način, kako ljudje dojemajo informacije. Izdelava pisav se je skozi čas spreminjala in se še vedno razvija. V sklopu diplomskega dela je bila oblikovana linearna družina pisav morfoza. Namen diplomskega dela je bil oblikovanje linearne pisave, izdelava njenih različic in ustvarjanje alternativnih znakov, ki bi dopolnjevali pisavo. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela sta predstavljena pomen tipografije in njen vpliv na razumevanje besedila. Opisani so deli črk in metrika, ki so ključni elementi pri oblikovanju pisav. Nato smo se osredotočili na zgodovino linearnih pisav ter predstavili različne vrste teh pisav in njihovo razdelitev glede na značilnosti oblik. Opisane so smernice za oblikovanje linearnih pisav. Na koncu so predstavljene tudi dekorativne pisave, ki so značilne po svojih neobičajnih oblikah črk. V sklopu eksperimentalnega dela je podrobno opisana izdelava pisave. Opisana sta natančno oblikovanje potez in črk ter dopolnitev pisave z alternativnimi znaki. Prav tako je opisana izdelava svetle in ultra krepke različice pisave. Prikazana je določitev praznih prostorov ob črkah in prirezovalnih parov. Na koncu so opisani najpomembnejši popravki in izboljšave pri oblikovanju. V rezultatih so prikazani primeri uporabe pisave. Predstavljen je končni nabor znakov družine in opisane so tudi njene značilnosti. Čeprav je nastala pisava že ponudila širok izbor različic in znakov, smo se zavedali, da jo lahko še dodatno izboljšamo z dodajanjem novih znakov in izboljšanjem metrike. Kljub tem omejitvam smo zadovoljni z dosežki diplomskega dela. Typefaces are an important tool for visual communication and they influence the way we perceive information. Type design has changed over time and is still evolving. A linear type family morfoza was made in the scope of this thesis. The purpose of the thesis was to design a linear typeface, develop its variations, and create alternative characters that would complement the typeface. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the importance of typography and its impact on text comprehension. The parts of letters and metrics, which are key elements in font design, are described. In addition, the history of linear typefaces is presented along with the different types and their classification based on the characteristics of the form. Moreover, guidelines for designing linear typeface are described. Finally, decorative typefaces are introduced, which are known for their unusual letter shapes. As part of the experimental work, the production of the typeface is described in detail. The precise design of strokes and letters is described, as well as the completion of the typeface with alternative characters. It also describes the creation of a thin and black version. The determination of letter spacing and kerning pairs is shown. Finally, the most important design fixes and improvements are described. The results section showcases examples of the typeface in use. The final set of characters of the family is shown, and its characteristics are also described. Although it already offers a wide range of variations and characters, we realized that we could further improve it by adding new characters and improving metrics. Despite these limitations, the goals of this thesis were successfully met.

19. Prenova sistema signalizacije v trgovsko-poslovnem središču Murgle Center

V diplomskem delu smo se ukvarjali s sistemom signalizacije oziroma z iskanjem poti na primeru kompleksne stavbe trgovsko-poslovnega središča Murgle Center. Namen je bil razstaviti objekt na osnovne komponente, to pomeni pridobiti tloris, ga interpretirati in izdelati shemo vseh cirkulacijskih poti, nato pa ustvariti enotno grafično podobo centra, jo implementirati v nov nabor signalizacijskih elementov in celoto ustrezno umestiti v prostor. V teoretičnem delu smo podrobneje definirali pojem iskanje poti (angl. wayfinding) oziroma sistem signalizacije (angl. signage system), opredelili vlogo okoljske psihologije, čitljivost okolice, povezavo med arhitekturno zasnovo in grafičnim prikazom informacij, nekatere prednosti in pomanjkljivosti uporabe znakov. Zgodovinski pregled služi kot podlaga za razumevanje današnjega dela na področju informacijske grafike. Kategorizirali smo označbe glede na vsebino, ki jo predstavljajo, in predstavili osnovni potek izdelave signaletike ter smernice, ki jih je potrebno pri tem upoštevati. V eksperimentalnem delu smo opisali arhitekturno zasnovo kompleksa Murgle Center in navedli osnovne informacije o ustanovitvi. Nato smo z digitalnim fotoaparatom najprej dokumentirali obstoječe stanje. S pomočjo analize tlorisov in starih zemljevidov za uporabnike smo izdelali cirkulacijski načrt. S programskim orodjem AutoCAD smo na podlagi načrtov in preučitve organizacije stavbe izrisali 3D modele posameznih nadstropij, nove usmeritvene, označevalne in informacijske table. Zemljevid za uporabnike in table smo grafično izpopolnili v programu Adobe Illustrator, dodali piktograme in nov logotip. S pomočjo programa Adobe Photoshop smo izdelali vizualizacije, pri čemer smo uporabili fotografije z lokacije in vektorske grafike. Nastal je nabor signalizacije s poudarkom na jasnosti, skladnosti in z ustrezno rabo materialov ter primerno postavitvijo (tla, stena, strop). Rezultat našega dela sta tako logotip, ki služi kot povezovalni člen, in celotna signalizacija za notranje območje centra Murgle. Nov sistem signalizacije se učinkovito vpelje v sicer kompleksno zasnovano stavbo iz leta 1992. Označbe ljudem olajšajo stres pri iskanju ponudnikov storitev in zmanjšajo zmedo. Main subject of the diploma thesis is the signage system or wayfinding in a case study of a complex building Murgle Center shopping and business centre. The purpose was to study the basic components of the building, i.e. to acquire a floor plan, to interpret it and create a scheme of all circulation paths, then design corporate visual identity, to implement it into a new set of signage elements and install it properly inside the building. In the theoretical part we defined the concept of wayfinding or signage system, the role of environmental psychology, legibility of the environment, explained the correlation between architectural design and graphical representation of information, some advantages and disadvantages of using signs. The historical overview serves as a basis for understanding today's work in the field of information graphics. We introduced the categorization of the signs according to the content they represent and explained what to consider while designing a signage and the guidelines that need to be followed. In the experimental part, we described the architectural design of Murgle Center and we provided basic information about its establishment. Then we took photos of the existing situation with a digital camera. We analysed the floor plans and old users’ maps, so we could create a circulation plan. Based on floor plans and examination of the buildings’ organization, using the AutoCAD software tool, we drew 3D models of individual floors, new directional, marking and information signs. Then, we improved them graphically using Adobe Illustrator, adding pictograms and new logo. Visualizations were made in Adobe Photoshop combining photos we took and vector graphics we created. We got a set of signage with an emphasis on clarity, consistency and proper use of materials and appropriate installation (floor, wall, ceiling). The result of our work is a new logo, representative corporate visual identity element, and complete signage of the inner Murgle Center area. A new signage system is being effectively implemented in an otherwise complex building from 1992. Signs relieve people of the stress caused by trying to find service providers and reduce confusion.

20. Vpliv oblikovanja informacij na oglaševanje na družbenih omrežjih

Soluma je B2B podjetje, ki se ukvarja z digitalizacijo procesov. Glavni namen diplomskega dela je bil povečati dejavnost podjetja Soluma na področju oglaševanja na družbenih omrežjih in spoznati, kako pri uporabniku z oglasom vzbuditi zanimanje in ga prepricˇati h kliku. V procesu izdelave diplomskega dela so nastali trije oglasi in tri oglasne kampanje, kjer smo oglaševali produkt podjetja – Soluma WebScan. V teoretičnem delu smo raziskovali psihologijo barv, kako se razlikuje trženje za B2B in B2C podjetja, načela oblikovanja informacij in pomen A/B testiranja. Eksperimentalno delo vsebuje predstavitev podjetja in oblikovanje oglasov in kampanj. Izdelali smo tri kampanje. Z vsako smo preizkušali drugo spremenljivko. Prva je preizkušala vpliv uporabe slik in animacij. Druga, kako koda s popustom vpliva na število klikov. In tretja, kako poteka pot uporabnika, če uporabimo povezavo do druge spletne strani. Pri izdelavi diplomskega dela smo uporabljali programsko opremo Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects). Za objavo oglasov smo uporabili Meta Business Suite. Poleg tega smo izvedli še anketo v programu Google Obrazci. Predpostavili smo, da bo oglasˇevanje, kjer bodo informacije prikazane v obliki animacije, dobilo vecˇ klikov, kar smo v praktičnem delu ovrgli. Statični oglas je prejel več klikov kot oglas z animiranimi deli. Pred začetkom smo predvideli, da se bodo glede na barvne kombinacije anketiranci najbolje odzvali na kombinacijo z modro barvo, kar smo v eksperimentalnem delu tudi potrdili. Pri oglasˇevanju, kjer je bila dodana povezava do strani produkta, je ta zadrzˇala vecˇ potencialnih strank kot oglasˇevanje, kjer je povezava vodila do glavne strani podjetja. To smo potrdili, saj je iz glavne strani prišlo le 5 uporabnikov, drugi pa so stran takoj zapustili. Hipotezo, s katero smo predvideli, da bo oglas z dodano kodo prejel večje število klikov, smo z raziskovalnim delom potrdili, tako kot tudi hipotezo, da je najpogosteje zastopana starostna skupina na Facebooku 25?34 let. Do klika smo uporabnike vodili z opredelitvijo bistvene težave, ki jo ima naša ciljna skupina in ki jo z uporabo WebScana lahko rešijo. Prav tako smo ugotovili, da je pomembno sporočilo predstaviti vizualno in pisno jasno. Soluma is a B2B company engaged in process digitization. The main purpose of the diploma thesis was to increase the activity of the company Soluma in the field of advertising on social networks. And learn how to intrigue the user with the ad and convince them to click. In the process of the diploma work, three advertisements and three advertisement campaigns were created. Where the company's product was advertised - Soluma WebScan. In the theoretical part, we researched the psychology of colors, how marketing differs for B2B and B2C companies, the principles of information design and the importance of A / B testing. The experimental work includes the presentation of the company and the design of advertisements and campaigns. We produced three campaigns, each testing a different variable. The first tested the impact of using images and animations. The second is how the discount code affects the number of clicks. And third, how the user’s path works if we use a link to another website. In the diploma work we used Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects). We used Meta Business Suite to run ads. In addition, we conducted a survey in the Google Forms program. We assumed that advertising, where the information will be displayed in the form of animation, will get more clicks, which we refuted in the practical part. A static ad received more clicks than an ad with animated parts. Before the start, we predicted that in terms of color combinations, respondents would respond best to the combination with blue, which we also confirmed in the experimental part. Advertising that linked to the product page retained more leads than advertising that linked to the main company page. We confirmed this, as only 5 users came from the main page, and the rest immediately left the page. We confirmed the hypothesis, where we predicted that an ad with an added code would receive a greater number of clicks, as well as the hypothesis that the most frequently represented age group on Facebook is 25䀒34 years old. We intrigued users until they clicked by defining the essential problem that our target group has and can solve using WebScan. It is also important to clearly present the message visually and in writing.

V sedanjih časih se pojavlja vedno več digitalnega sporočanja, prav tako pa se veča uporaba elektronskih naprav. V diplomskem delu je predstavljen postopek izdelave spremenljive pisave, ki je namenjena uporabi in prikazovanju na zaslonih. Z uporabo spremenljivih pisav lahko ustvarimo unikatne kombinacije različic črk glede na potrebe, ter na ta način ustvarimo boljše okolje za branje. Spremenljive pisave se lahko uporabljajo na spletu s pomočjo računalniških jezikov, kjer ni potrebe po več datotekah ter pisavah, ki bi podaljšale čas nalaganja spletne strani. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela je predstavljena pisava in njen razvoj od zgodovinskih jamskih poslikav do prvih računalniških pisav. Navedeni so različni računalniški zapisi pisav, ki so se uporabljali, ali pa so še vedno v uporabi. Prav tako je opisana spremenljiva pisava, njene prednosti in slabosti. Eksperimentalni del diplomskega dela predstavlja opis izdelave spremenljive pisave pretend z vsemi postopki od skic in zasnove, priprave delovne datoteke z nastavitvami, določanja presledkov ob črkah in prirezovanjem do izvoza pisave. Na koncu smo izvedli metodo glajenja krivulj, ki je pomembna pri digitalnih pisavah, upodobljenih na zaslonih. Izvedli smo tudi spletno anketo o všečnosti pisave in pripadajočih različic. S pridobljenimi rezultati ankete smo ugotovili ustreznost posameznih različic pri upodobitvi besedila na zaslonih ter všečnost pokončnih in kurzivnih različic spremenljive pisave pretend. Both the use of electronic devices and digital communication are on the rise in modern times. The aim of this thesis is to present the process of creating a variable typeface that is intended for display and use on screens. Variable typefaces can create unique combinations that can meet our needs and, in doing so, create a better reading environment. Variable typefaces can also be used online with different computer languages, where there is no need for multiple files and fonts that could potentially increase the loading time of a web page. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the development of a typeface, from historical cave paintings to the first computer fonts. It defines examples of different types of computer fonts, including ones that have been used and are still in use. Various advantages and disadvantages of variable typefaces are also described. The experimental part of the thesis goes over the production of the variable typeface Pretend. With all the procedures from sketches and first designs, preparation of the appropriate computer files with their settings, spacing and kerning to exporting the typeface. Additionally, this thesis highlights the process of font hinting, which is crucial for digital fonts rendered on screens. Finally, an online survey was conducted about the likeability of the typeface Pretend and its related fonts. With the obtained results from the online survey, the adequacy of individual roman and italic fonts were determined in rendering of text on screens, and the likeability of the variable typeface Pretend.

Hrana, izdelana in pridelana lokalno z uporabo sestavin slovenskih kmetij igra pomembno vlogo v nasˇem življenju. Če bomo kupovali slovenske produkte, bomo s tem podpirali in investirali v slovenska podjetja in posledično ohranjali obstoj lokalne prehrane v Sloveniji. Zato mora biti slovenski izdelek na trgovskih policah vabljiv in jasno sporočati, da je izdelan na slovenskih tleh. Ko produkt držimo v rokah, pregledamo embalažo produkta in vizualno ocenimo kvaliteto. Kaj je tisto, kar stranko pritegne za nakup produkta in kaj je tisto, zaradi česar je stranka produkt izbrala in prijela v roke? Človek že od nastanka civilizacije stremi k identifikaciji. Danes je podobno pri podjetjih, storitvah in izdelkih. Zato je potrebno raziskati zgodbo in vizijo podjetja in na podlagi analize in s pomočjo smernic izdelati primerno podobo podjetja in produktov ali storitev, ki jih podjetje ponuja. Po napotkih iz literature smo oblikovali celostno grafično podobo Strletove kmetije in vizualno podobo produktov Ta Strletov sladoled. Poleg napotkov smo raziskali še trg sladoleda in našli nekaj zanimivih referenčnih primerov. Zacˇeli smo pri imenu podjetja in iskanju ikonografije, izdelali logotip, izbrali barve in pisavo ter dodali avtorske ilustracije, ki krasijo Strletovo kmetijo, in embalažo sladoleda. Poleg skiciranja na papir smo uporabili racˇunalnisˇke programe Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop in graficˇne tablice. Pri izbiri materiala za produkt smo izbirali okolju prijazne materiale. Primerno oblikovana, zabavna in privlacˇna embalazˇa bo tako pritegnila kupca za nakup lokalnega sladoleda. Locally produced food from Slovenian farms plays an important role in our lives. If we buy Slovenian products, we will support and invest in Slovenian companies and consequently maintain the existence of the local food industry in Slovenia. Therefore, a Slovenian product on store shelves must be attractive and clearly state that it is made on Slovenian soil. When we hold the product in our hands, we inspect the packaging of the product and visually assess its quality. What is it that attracts the customer to buy the product and what is it that makes the customer choose the product and take it in their hands and buy it? A man has been striving for identification since the beginning of civilization. Today, it is similar with companies, stories, and products – identification is needed. Therefore, it is necessary to research the story and vision of the company and, based on analysis and with the help of guidelines, to create a suitable business company and the products or services it offers. Following the instructions from the literature, we designed the overall graphic image of Strle's farm and the visual image of the products of Strle's ice cream. We also researched the ice cream market and found some interesting reference examples. We started with the name of the company and iconography, created a logo, chose colors and fonts, and added original illustrations that adorn Strle’s farm, as well as ice cream packaging. In addition to sketching on paper, we used computer programs Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and graphics tablet. When choosing the material for the product, we chose environmentally friendly materials. Properly designed, fun, and attractive packaging has thus attracted the buyer to buy local ice cream.

Glavni namen diplomske naloge je bil oblikovati knjigo in razumeti, kako lahko le-to vpliva na prodajo. Cilj je razumeti tudi, kakšen psihološki vpliv ima dizajn knjige na ljudi oz. kupce in kako lahko to vpliva na prodajo knjige, hkrati pa ugotoviti, kako optimalno oblikovanje, pri katerem sledimo določenim smernicam, neposredno vpliva na prodajo. Na začetku zastavljene hipoteze so se med oblikovanjem potrdile ali ovrgle. Teoretični del razlaga naslednje teme: psihološki vpliv barve na posameznika, barvna harmonija, barva v publikacijah, raba in vpliv tipografije na človeka, optimalno branje knjige, nepravilnosti pri knjižnem prelomu, oblikovanje publikacij, razporeditev elementov, knjižna struktura, struktura umetniškega dela, geštalt psihologija ter knjiga in prodaja. Medtem ko eksperimentalni del diplomske naloge zajema postopek izdelave knjižnega preloma in knjižne naslovnice za knjigo Petrova imperatorica avtorice Kristine Sabaliauskaite, izdane pri založbi Goga. Delo se je nadaljevalo s pomočjo anonimne ankete in testiranja ciljnih skupin na napravi za sledenje očesnih premikov. Za omenjeno testiranje so se pripravile različne zasnove knjižnih naslovnic, na osnovi česar se je ugotavljalo, katere vzbudijo največjo reakcijo pri opazovancu. Na podlagi pridobljenih rezultatov je analiza pokazala, da so potrošnikom bolj všeč minimalistične naslovnice, ki pa lahko vsebujejo tudi en izstopajoč element, ki pritegne pozornost. Potrjeno je tudi, da bralcem bolj ustreza pisava s serifi, ki ohranja pravilno razmerje med velikostjo znakov in praznimi vrsticami. Prav tako je potrjeno, da je bralcem bolj všeč večji prazen prostor okoli branega besedila, kot manjši. Na podlagi rezultatov je razvidno, da je dobro oblikovanje knjižnega preloma in naslovnice nujno za optimalno bralno izkušnjo ter uspešno prodajo. The main purpose of the diploma thesis was to be acquainted with designing a book as a whole, i.e. to separately design a book text break and a book cover and also to understand how the latter affects print media sales. The goal was also to understand how design has a psychological effect on people and what impact this has on selling a book itself. Therefore, the purpose was to design a book and to find out how optimal design (in which we follow certain guidelines) directly affects sales. The hypothesis set at the beginning were confirmed or refuted during the designing process. The theoretical part explains the following topics: psychological influence of colours on the individual, colour harmonies, colour in publications, use and impact of typography on people, optimal reading of the book, irregularities in book design, publication design, arrangement of elements, book structure, art work structure, gestalt psychology and book and sales. While the experimental part of the diploma thesis presents the process of making a book text break and a book cover for the book called Peter's Empress, by Kristina Sabaliuaskaite, published by Goga. Work continued with the help of an anonymous survey and testing of chosen targeted groups on a device for tracking eye movements (eye tracker). For the mentioned testing, various designs of book covers were prepared, on the basis of which it was determined, which ones arouse the greatest reaction in the observer. Based on the obtained results, the analysis showed that consumers prefer minimalist covers, which can also contain one outstanding element that attracts attention. It has also been confirmed that readers prefer a serif font that maintains the correct ratio between character size and blank lines. It is also confirmed that readers prefer a larger blank space around the text being read than a smaller one. Based on the results, it is clear that a good design of the book cover and cover is essential for an optimal reading experience and successful sales.

Cilj diplomskega dela je bil na uporaben in zabaven način bodočim študentom predstaviti življenje v študentskem domu in za kaj vse je potrebno poskrbeti pred tem. Namen je bil, da vse ključne informacije za bodoče študente zberemo na enem mestu in to predstavimo v obliki študentskega vodiča oz. priročnika. Diplomsko delo v prvem sklopu obsega teoretični del, kjer je opisano, kaj sploh vodič je, kako so se le-ti razvijali skozi čas in kakšna je njihova zgodovina. Nadaljuje se z oblikovanjem grafičnega izdelka, torej z opisom, kaj grafično oblikovanje sploh je, kakšna so temeljna načela oblikovanja, kako se jih lahko uporabi v praktični izvedbi in katere programe lahko uporabljamo, da pridemo do končnega grafičnega izdelka. Teoretični del zaključimo z opisi posameznih študentskih naselij v Ljubljani, kjer je vsako posebej predstavljeno (od tega katere domove vključuje in, kakšne so njihove kapacitete, do podatkov, kot so linije mestnih avtobusov, ki vozijo mimo). Drugi sklop sestavlja eksperimentalni del, kjer so predstavljeni načini in postopki, kako priti do končnega izdelka. Začne se z oblikovanjem ter izbiro barv, in velikosti formata za izdelek ter obrazložitvijo, kako smo izbrali barve in format. Nadaljujemo z natančnim opisom izdelave in priprave posameznih grafičnih elementov, ki so uporabljeni v končnem izdelku (koledar, zemljevidi, posamezne grafike, uporabljene za zemljevide, in legenda) ter orodij, ki so bila pri tem uporabljena. The diploma thesis is aimed to present life in student dormitories and everything they need to take care of before they move there in a useful and fun way to all future students. The purpose of this was to collect all the key information for future students in one place and to present it in the form of a student guidebook or manual. In the theoretical part, we first focus on guidebooks, describing their characteristics and historical development. Then, we explain what graphic design is, what are some of its fundamental principles, how they can be put to practice and what computer programmes we can use to achieve a refined graphic product. Lastly, we present each of the student settlements in Ljubljana individually, including the information such as which dormitories they are composed of, what is their capacity and which city bus routes connect them to the faculties or the city centre. The experimental part describes the ways and procedures used to carry out the project. First, we present the design, the selection of colours and the size of the chosen format for the product, as well as the reasons behind these choices. We continue with the precise description of designing and preparing each graphic element used in the final product individually: that is, the calendar, the maps, the graphics used for maps and the key. With each element, we also present the tools that were used to design it.

Namen diplomskega dela je izdelati premišljeno in reprezentativno celostno grafično podobo za izbrano podjetje po njihovih zahtevah, ki bodo dvignile njihovo profesionalnost in prepoznavnost. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili pojem celostna grafična podoba in njene glavne elemente: logotip, tipografijo, barve, poslovne tiskovine in priročnik celostne grafične podobe. V eksperimentalnem delu smo analizirali in primerjali logotipe konkurenčnih podjetij za smernice pri oblikovanju našega logotipa in predstavili podjetje ter njihove želje. Izdelavo logotipa smo začeli s skiciranjem na papir in potem prenesli v program Adobe Illustrator. Izdelali smo več različic, med katerimi je naročnik po svojih željah izbral najbolj ustrezno. Oblikovali smo še ostale glavne elemente celostne grafične podobe. Pri tem smo uporabljali še Adobe programa Photoshop in InDesign. Oblikovali smo celostno grafično podobo. Poslovne tiskovine so pripravljene do nivoja, da se podjetje lahko z njimi začne predstavljati na trgu. V sedanjem času je dobro oblikovana celostna grafična podoba eden ključnih dejavnikov za uspeh podjetja, saj ta bistveno pripomore k promociji, ugledu in profesionalnosti podjetja. Izdelana mora biti premišljeno, saj lahko le tako dobro predstavlja pravo identiteto podjetja in ga loči od konkurence. The purpose of the bachelor’s thesis is to create a thoughtful and representative corporate visual identity for a company according to its requirements, which will raise the professionalism and recognition of the company. In the theoretical part, we presented the term corporate visual identity and its key elements, such as logo, typography, colors, printed matters, and corporate design manual. In the experimental part, we analyzed and compared logos of competitive companies for guidelines in designing our logotype and presented the company and their wishes. We started creating the logo by sketching it on paper and then transferred it to Adobe Illustrator. We made several versions, among which the client chose the most suitable one according to his wishes. We also designed other key elements of the corporate identity using Adobe's Photoshop and InDesign programs. We designed the corporate visual identity and prepared business cards, mailing lists, and envelopes so that the company can start presenting itself. At present, a well-designed corporate visual identity is one of the key factors for the company's success because it significantly contributes to the promotion, reputation, and professionalism of the company. It must be made thoughtfully because only then can represent the true identity of the company and differentiate it from the competition.

26. Oblikovanje pisave z ukrivljenimi ascendri in descendri

V diplomskem delu je prikazan potek izdelave pisave z ukrivljenimi ascendri in descendri in testiranje njene čitljivosti ter primerljivosti z ostalimi pisavami. Na podlagi raziskave je bila narejena analiza, na podlagi te pa sklep o primernosti pisave za prikazovalne namene oziroma sklep ali tako oblikovani podaljški navzgor in navzdol vplivajo na čitljivost. V teoretičnem delu je bil raziskan razvoj in delitev linearnih pisav, narejen je bil pregled tipografskih značilnosti znakov in oblikovne delitve črk, raziskano pa je bilo tudi področje testiranja čitljivosti pisav, ki se nanaša na pretekle raziskave. Poudarek je bil predvsem na zaznavanju posameznih znakov oz. črk in pisav. Na podlagi teoretičnega dela so bile v eksperimentalnem delu oblikovane: navadna, krepka in ekstra krepka različica pisave z naborom različnih ligatur in različic črk ter z naborom znakov za štiri različne jezike. V nadaljevanju je bila preverjena tudi čitljivost oblikovane pisave, ta pa je bila primerjana s pisavo s serifi in brez njih. Eksperiment je bil zasnovan na podlagi več spremenljivk, ki bi lahko vplivale na rezultate. Izveden je bil s pomočjo naprave Tobii Eyetracker, ki je sledila očesnim premikom testirancev. Tako izveden eksperiment je dal objektivne in točne rezultate. Na koncu je bila narejena analiza podatkov, ki so bili izmerjeni in nato primerjani s podatki z upoštevanjem meritev naprave Tobii Eyetracker in brez njih. S pomočjo te analize so bile podane ugotovitve o čitljivosti izdelane pisave. In the diploma thesis, the process of designing the display typeface with curved ascenders and descenders, the testing of it's legibility and it's comparison with other typefaces are shown. Based on this research, both analysis and conclusion have been made on the adequacy of this typeface being used for display purposes and if curved ascenders and descenders affect it's legibility. In the theoretical part evolution and classification of linear typefaces have been researched, with examination of different glyph characteristics and classification of letters made. Moreover, the field of the typeface's legibility, focused on the perception of particular typeface letters has been researched. Based on the theoretical part, the typeface was designed in the experimental part. Regular, bold and extra bold fonts have been made with collection of different ligatures and also versions of the letters with glyphs for four different languages. The experiment was carried out with different variables, which have affected final results. Tobii Eyetracker was used to track our participants' eye movements, consequently providing a more objective and precise execution of the experiment. Finally, an analysis was made on data that has been measured and gathered, with and without the consideration of Tobii Eyetracker measurements. Taking into account the analysis, final findings were introduced.

Vsaka oseba se vsaj enkrat v življenju sreča z izobraževalnim procesom. Prvi korak je obiskovanje osnovne šole, ki ima izobraževalno in vzgojno nalogo. Vsak učitelj ima vpliv na učence, ki jih poučuje, zato se tudi zavedajo, da morajo biti dober zgled, kar se kaže na več različnih načinov. Prijazen, spoštljiv in korekten odnos so lastnosti vsakega učitelja, ki si želi učencem dati nekaj več. Prav tako je pomembno, da je učitelj dober pedagog in da snov podaja razumljivo. Seveda pa ne smemo pozabiti na ustrezno organiziranost in predanost delu. Da uspejo učitelji slediti vsem aktivnostim in da imajo korekten odnos z učenci, morajo biti dobro organizirani, pri čemer si večinoma pomagajo s pedagoškimi rokovniki. Po večletnem opazovanju in nekaj pogovorih z učitelji smo zaznali splošen problem, in sicer da nekateri učitelji niso zadovoljni s pedagoškimi rokovniki, ki jih prejmejo v dar. Nekateri si zaradi tega rokovnike izdelujejo sami, zato smo se odločili, da bomo za diplomsko nalogo raziskali področje in oblikovali rokovnik na podlagi mnenj in predlogov, ki so nam jih podali učitelji. V teoretičnem delu smo pojasnili pojme, ki smo jih kasneje v praktičnem delu uporabili. Pisali smo o oblikovanju daljših prelomov in izpostavili ključne elemente, ki sestavljajo prelom. Pojasnili smo, kako na oblikovanje vplivata tipografija in barva. Dotaknili smo se tudi teme rokovnikov kot grafičnega izdelka in raziskali, ali obstajajo digitalni rokovniki. V praktičnem delu smo izdelali analizo trga, in sicer tako, da smo med seboj smo primerjali pet pedagoških rokovnikov. Izdelali smo tudi anketni vprašalnik in ga poslali slovenskim osnovnim šolam, nato pa podatke analizirali. Po analizi podatkov smo se lotili še analize trga, z dobljenimi rezultati pa smo lahko začrtali smernice, ki smo jih uporabili za oblikovanje rokovnika. Oblikovali smo prelom v standardni obliki. Ker smo v dobi digitalizacije, smo oblikovali tudi digitalno rešitev pedagoškega rokovnika. Vso uporabljeno programsko opremo, funkcionalnosti in oblikovanje rokovnika ter njegovo digitalno verzijo smo razložili v eksperimentalnem delu. Every person encounters the education process at least once in their life. The first step is to attend primary school, which has an educational role. The teachers influence their students and therefore understand that they need to set a good example, which reflects in many ways. A kind, respectful and correct attitude characterizes every teacher who wants to give something more to the students. It is also important that the teacher is a good educator. Of course, we must not forget the proper organization and dedication to work. To be able to follow all the activities and have a correct relationship with the students, the teachers must organize themselves well. Most of all, they help themselves with pedagogical diaries. After several years of observation and a few conversations with teachers, we noticed a general problem, namely that some teachers are not satisfied with the pedagogical diaries they receive. Therefore, we decided to research the field for the diploma thesis and design a diary based on the opinions and suggestions of the teachers. In the theoretical part we explained the concepts we used later in the practical part. We wrote about designing process and explained the key elements that make up the layout. We explained how typography and color affect design. We also touched on the topic of diaries as a product and explored whether digital diaries exist. In the practical part we made a market analysis. We compared five pedagogical diaries. We also prepared a survey questionnaire and sent it to Slovenian primary schools. Then we analyzed the data. With the help of the results of the survey and market analysis, we were able to outline the guidelines we used to design the diary. Then we designed a layout. Since we live in the digital age, we also designed a digital solution for the pedagogical diary and described all used software. The entire design was then explained in the experimental part.

28. Vpliv logotipa na podobo blagovne znamke podjetja

Kot potrošniki si pogosto ustvarimo mnenje na podlagi prvega vtisa. Če govorimo o izdelkih, je najverjetneje embalaža tista, ki prva pritegne našo pozornost, pa vendar ima tudi logotip kot sestavni del embalaže poglavitno funkcijo identifikacije podjetja in je posledično tudi odraz njegove blagovne znamke. Poleg prej naštetih funkcij logotip s svojimi sestavnimi elementi na potrošnike vpliva tudi s psihološkega vidika. Večja podjetja oblikovanju vizualne podobe blagovne znamke namenijo veliko časa in denarja, saj si z njo želijo pri potrošnikih vzbuditi določene čustvene odzive, s čimer lahko v neki meri predvidevajo in vplivajo na njihovo nakupovalno vedenje. V diplomski nalogi nas je zanimalo, v kolikšni meri izgled logotipa vpliva na potrošnikovo odločitev o nakupu ali izbiri izdelka oz. storitve in kako pomembno vlogo ima logotip podjetja v naboru vseh elementov, ki sestavljajo podobo blagovne znamke. V diplomski nalogi smo se osredotočili predvsem na pomen logotipa, raziskovali njegov vpliv na podobo blagovne znamke podjetja ter navsezadnje tudi na psihološki vidik logotipov pri potrošnikih in na njihove vedenjske procese. Na koncu smo v sklopu eksperimentalnega dela s pomočjo programske opreme Adobe Photoshop nekatere logotipe z namenom nadaljnje uporabe v anketi tudi poenostavili oz. jim spremenili določen atribut. V tem primeru smo se odločili za spremembo barvne sheme. S pomočjo analize rezultatov iz spletne ankete smo prišli do ugotovitev, da so potrošniki precej pozorni na logotip blagovnih znamk in da jim ta ne predstavlja zgolj identifikacijskega orodja. Prav tako smo ugotovili tudi, da sestavni elementi logotipa vplivajo na podobo blagovne znamke s strani potrošnikov. As consumers, we often form an opinion based on first impressions. If we talk about products, the packaging is probably the first thing that we see but the logo, as an integral part of the packaging, also has the primary function of identifying the company and is consequently a reflection of its brand. In addition to the previously mentioned functions, the logo, with its constituent elements, also affects consumers psychologically. Larger companies spend a lot of time and money on creating a visual image of a brand because they want to arouse specific emotional responses in consumers to anticipate and influence their shopping behavior to some extent. Through the diploma thesis, we were interested in the extent to which the logo's appearance influences the consumer's decision to purchase or choose a product or service and how important the logo is in the set of all the elements that make up its brand image. In the diploma thesis, we focused mainly on the logo's meaning, researched its impact on the image of the company's brand, and, finally, on the psychological aspect of logos in consumers and their behavioral processes. As part of the experimental work, with the help of Adobe Photoshop software, specific attributes of some logos have been changed with the aim of further use in the survey. Changes made include simplification and/or change in the color scheme. With the help of the analysis of the results from the online survey, we concluded that the consumer pays much attention to the brand logo and that it is not just an identification tool. We also found that the components of the logo affect the brand's image by consumers.

LuMetal, d. o. o. je majhno podjetje s sedežem v Novem mestu. Ukvarjajo se s kovinskopredelovalno industrijo, izdelujejo tudi unikatne kovinske produkte po načrtih arhitektov in projektantov. V diplomskem delu je predstavljena prenova celostne grafične podobe in opredelitev elementov, ki skupaj grafično predstavljajo podobo podjetja. Ta je sestavljena iz logotipa, poslovnih tiskovin (vizitka, dopisni list, račun, ponudba, pisemska ovojnica, koledar) ter promocijske majice. Za izvedbo eksperimentalnega dela smo se pobližje spoznali z delom podjetja LuMetal, d. o. o. Sestali smo se z direktorjem podjetja, ki nam je pomagal pri razumevanju elementov njihove celostne grafične podobe (CGP). Le-to smo primerjali še z dvema konkurenčnima slovenskima podjetjema ter raziskali njihove prednosti in slabosti. Po temeljiti raziskavi smo se lotili prenove CGP-ja podjetja LuMetal, d. o. o. Začeli smo z definiranjem osnovnih elementov – barva in tipografija – ki sta nas vodila pri izdelavi ostalih elementov najprej simbola in logotipa, nato pa še vseh tiskovin. Za konec smo izdelali še nekaj primerov promocijskih majic, ki bodo pomagale pri prepoznavnosti podjetja. LuMetal d. o. o. is a small company, with its seat in Novo mesto. Their main priority is the metal processing industry, they also like to participate in the development and implementation of unique metal products, planned by architects and specialised designers. In this thesis we firstly introduce the company’s old corporate visual identity and its key elements. The corporate identity is made of logo, business printing materials, business cards, mailing letter, bills, offer document, envelopes, calendars and receipt and promotional t-shirts. Following the experimental part of the thesis, we begin by getting to know the company itself, moving on to describing its old corporate visual identity and the process of renovation of CVI. We also compared the old CVI with two rival companies where we focused on the elements that work and the ones which doesn’t and then used the good elements in our renovation. After we made a new logo, following the printing materials we also made three designs for promotional t-shirts, which role is to additionally advertise the newly renovated company and its corporate identity.

Namen diplomskega dela je primerjava in grafično oblikovanje etiket piva. Pri tem je poudarek na področju Slovenije in Nemčije, kjer etiket ni težko razlikovati. Na nemških etiketah je velikokrat možno videt zastarele motive in pisave, ki ne nagovarjajo mladih potrošnikov. V raziskavi je odkritih nekaj bistvenih razlik, ki imajo vpliv na potrošnika v posamezni državi. Teoretični del se začne z raziskovanjem izvora nastanka piva, zgodovine in priljubljenosti piv v državah. Sledi primerjava dveh izbranih piv iz obeh držav. Izbrani pivi iz Slovenije sta bili hkrati najbolj priljubljeni pivi, Laško in Union. Za Nemčijo, kjer je trg pivovarstva veliko večji, pa sta izbrani pivi Stuttgarter Hofbräu in Wulle, ki izvirata iz mesta Stuttgart. Analizirane so tudi etikete piv in ključni podatki na njih. V nalogo so vključene informacije o trendih v grafičnem oblikovanju, barvah in tipografiji. Vključena je tudi manjša raziskava trga o tem, kako s pomočjo oglasnih sporočil in grafičnega oblikovanja nagovoriti mlajšo populacijo. V praktičnem delu je izveden proces oblikovanja, ki temelji na skicah in zbiranju idej. Pri oblikovanju s pomočjo programa Adobe Illustrator je kot opora služila analiza blagovnih znamk piv, ki je obravnavana v teoretičnem delu. Cilj naloge je spremeniti oblikovne podobe etiket in se ne popolnoma odmakniti od izvirnih etiket. Etikete so bile zamenjane z izvirnimi na fotografijah steklenic s pomočjo programa Adobe Photoshop, nato pa uporabljene v naslednjem koraku, anketi. Pomembno je bilo vprašanje, če so anketiranci že pili katero izmed izbranih piv, ker smo predvidevali, da bi to lahko vplivalo na njihovo odločitev. Želeli smo primerjati piva ter pridobiti mnenje, kaj jim je bolj všeč na izvirni etiketi in kaj na prenovljeni. Težnja je bila tudi po primerjanju obeh prenovljenih etiket in izbiri, katera grafična podoba se anketirancem zdi bolj uspešna in priljubljena pri mladih. Na koncu so bili zbrani rezultati. Ugotovitve so pokazale, da na priljubljenost etiket v veliki meri vpliva tudi navezanost na izvirno etiketo. The aim of the diploma thesis is to compare and design beer labels. The countries in focus are Slovenia and Germany, which are easy to distinguish. On German labels, we often see old-fashioned motifs and fonts that don't appeal to young consumers. According to the study, there are some significant differences that impact consumers in each country. An introduction to the theoretical part begins with a study of the origins of beer, its history, and the popularity of beer in various countries. This is followed by a comparison of two selected beers from both chosen countries. Selected beers from Slovenia are also the most popular beers, Laško and Union. For Germany, where the beer market is larger, Stuttgarter Hofbräu and Wulle were selected. Both are from the city of Stuttgart. The analysis also included key data on beer labels. The thesis includes information about trends in graphic design trends and important information about colours and typography. Also included is a market research on how to address the younger population through advertising and graphic design. In the practical part, a design process based on sketches and collecting ideas was carried out. An analysis of beer brands, which was discussed in the theoretical part, helped when designing with Adobe Illustrator. The goal was to design new beer labels and ensure that they do not deviate entirely from the origin labels. Using Adobe Photoshop, the original labels on the beer photos were replaced with the redesign, which was used in the next step - the survey. A pertinent question was whether the respondents had already drunk any of the selected beers, in order to anticipate that this could influence their decision. We compared the original label and the redesign label to see which was preferred by the public. The aspiration was also to compare the two redesigned labels and choose which design they find more successful and popular with young people. In the end, we gathered the results. The findings showed that the popularity of labels is largely influenced by the attachment of the original label.

Magistrsko delo zajema področje preoblikovanje celostne grafične podobe kulturno-umetniškega društva Sovodenj ter pripravo zbornika ob 15-letnem delovanju sekcije Neč bat teater. V teoretičnem delu smo raziskali, kakšen je pomen celostne grafične podobe ter kakšni so njeni elementi. Nadaljevali smo s povzetki o tem, kaj je prenova celostne podobe, kako se je lotimo in kaj to pomeni v realnosti. Bolj natančno smo opisali, kako se lotiti preoblikovanja logotipa in realiziranja celotne vizualne prenove. Predstavili smo PDF format in njegovo zgodovino, ki se danes uporablja kot standard za pregledovanje in tiskanje gradiva. Nadaljevali smo s predstavitvijo društva, ki smo mu preoblikovali grafično podobo ter ustvarili zbornik. Teoretičen del smo zaključili s predstavitvijo in z analizo dveh zbornikov podobnih institucij. V praktičnem delu smo pripravili pregled stanja obstoječe grafične podobe društva, navedli razloge in cilje preoblikovanja. Pripravili smo anketo za člane, ki nam je pomagala pri preoblikovanju podobe. Po opravljeni analizi smo pripravili več različic novega logotipa in ponovno izvedli anketo. Člani so v anketi izbrali logotip, ki smo ga kasneje še razčlenili in iz gradnikov pripravili druga komunikacijska sredstva. V zadnjem delu smo predstavili oblikovni proces priprave zbornika z gradniki nove grafične podobe. Opisali smo proces oblikovanja naslovnice in tipičnih strani ter kako smo pripravili in obdelali vstavljene fotografije. Za konec smo predstavili še format, v katerem bo zbornik hranjen, in spletno stran, kjer bo objavljen. The master's thesis covers the field of transforming corporate identity of the cultural and artistic association Sovodenj and the preparation of a collection of articles on the occasion of the 15-year operation of the Neč bat teater section. In the theoretical part, we investigated the significance of the corporate graphic identity and its elements. We continued with summaries of what corporate identity renewal is, how we tackle it, and what it means in reality. We have described in more detail how to start redesigning the logo and realizing the entire visual renovation. We presented the PDF format and its history, which is used today as a standard for viewing and printing material. We continued with the presentation of the association, to which we redesigned the graphic identity and created an anthology of plays. The theoretical part was concluded with the presentation and analysis of two proceedings of similar institutions. In the practical part, we prepared an overview of the state of the existing graphic identity of the association, stating the reasons and goals of the transformation. We prepared a survey for members that helped us transform the image. After the analysis, we prepared several versions of the new logo and conducted a survey again. In the survey, the members chose a logo, which we later analyzed and prepared other means of communication from the building blocks. In the last part, we presented the design process of preparing the collection booklet with the elements of a new graphic image. We described the process of designing the cover and typical pages and how we prepared and processed the inserted photos. Finally, we presented the format in which the proceedings will be kept and the website where it will be published.

Celostna grafična podoba predstavlja pomemben vidik identitete podjetja in omogoča razlikovanje na trgu. Zajema vse vizualne elemente, s katerimi se podjetje oglašuje in komunicira s strankami. V diplomskem delu smo ustvarili celostno grafično podobo kozmetičnega salona BeauTina, ki se ukvarja s storitvami kot so manikura, pedikura in ličenje. V teoretičnem delu smo definirali pomen celostne grafične podobe in opisali postopek izdelave celostne grafične podobe. Predstavili smo faze analize trga in preučili literaturo o barvni teoriji ter smernice v tipografiji. Na koncu smo se posvetili ključnim značilnostim logotipov in priročnika celostne grafične podobe. V eksperimentalnem delu smo predstavili programsko opremo, ki smo jo uporabljali pri oblikovanju elementov celostne grafične podobe. Pri oblikovanju celostne grafične podobe smo sprva definirali barvno paleto in uporabljene pisave, nato pa oblikovali logotip, vizitko, dopisni list, cenik in darilni bon. Opisali smo tudi anketni vprašalnik, s katerim smo ciljno skupino salona spraševali o všečnosti celostne grafične podobe in o njihovem mnenju o videzu in pomembnosti posameznih izdelkov. V rezultatih diplomskega dela smo najprej prikazali rezultate analize trga, kjer smo primerjali različne kozmetične salone. Osredotočili smo se na pregled njihovih celostnih grafičnih podob, prisotnosti na spletu, načinov komuniciranja in storitev, ki jih nudijo. V rezultatih smo nato predstavili vse oblikovane elemente celostne grafične podobe. Prikazali smo rezultate izvedene ankete in komentirali uspešnost oblikovanja. Corporate graphic design plays an important role in company's identity and is also used for distinguishing a certain company among others. It covers all the visual elements with which the company advertises and communicates with customers. In the diploma work, we created a corporate graphic design for beauty salon BeauTina, which provides services such as manicures, pedicures and make-up. In the theoretical part, we defined the meaning of a corporate graphic design and described the process of creating a corporate graphic design. We presented the stages of market analysis and examined the literature on color theory and guidelines in typography. This section is concluded with focusing on the key features of logos and corporate design manual. In the experimental part, we presented the software we used to design the elements of the corporate graphic design. When designing the corporate graphic design, we first defined the color palette and fonts used, and then designed the logo, business card, letterhead, price list and gift card. We also described a survey questionnaire, which asked the target group of the salon about the liking of the corporate graphic design and about their opinion on the appearance and importance of individual products. In the results of the diploma work, we first presented the results of market analysis, where we compared different beauty salons. We focused on reviewing their corporate graphic design, online presence, ways of communicating and the services they offer. In the results, we then presented all the designed elements of the corporate graphic design. We presented the results of the survey and commented on the success of the design.

V diplomskem delu smo se osredotočili na proces oblikovanja celostne grafične podobe. Namen diplomskega dela je bil oblikovati in primerjati dve različni celostni grafični podobi v dveh različnih slogih in poiskati končno rešitev za naročnika. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela smo bralcu predstavil celostno grafično podobo in njeno zgodovino ter razvoj. Temu je sledila razlaga elementov, ki sestavljajo celostno grafično podobo, in njihove vloge ali funkcije znotraj celostne grafične podobe. Bralcu smo nato predstavili proces priprave na projekt oblikovanja celostne grafične podobe. V tem segmentu je bil prikazan referenčni trikotnik, ki opiše praktično vrednost dobre celostne grafične identitete, kako le-ta vpliva na ugled podjetja ali blagovne znamke in s tem neposredno tudi njuno uspešnost. Teoretični del smo zaključili z analizo celostne grafične podobe s psihološkega vidika. Predstavljen je bil vpliv psihologije na oblikovalske odločitve, ko pride do grafičnih likov in barv, ter kako določiti ciljno občinstvo, na katero lahko osredotočimo svoje oblikovanje. Teoretičnemu delu je sledil eksperimentalni del, v katerem smo predstavili pripravo na oblikovanje celostne grafične podobe in metode dela, ki smo jih pri tem uporabljali. V naslednjem delu diplomskega dela smo predstavili rezultate dela in naredili njihovo analizo. Bistvo tega dela je oblikovanje in predstavitev dveh celostnih grafičnih podob z različnima slogoma. Vsaka izmed celostnih grafičnih podob je bila nato predstavljena in razložena v petih sklopih, in sicer: logotip, pisave, barve, aplikacije in vizualizacije produktov. Za vsakega od predstavljenih elementov so bile poleg razlage oblikovalskih odločitev in mišljenja priložene tudi slike. Nato smo sestavili anketo in na podlagi njenih rezultatov bralcu predstavili zaključke in izvlečke raziskave ter določili najboljšo izmed rešitev za naročnika. In his diploma thesis we focused on the process of designing a corporate visual identity. The core purpose of the diploma thesis was to design and compare two separate corporate visual identities in two different design styles and find a final solution for the client. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis presented corporate visual identity including its history and progression. This was followed by an explanation of the elements that make up a corporate visual identity where their role and function were also presented. The next segment presented the process of the preparation and research needed before designing a corporate visual identity. This segment presented the reference triangle which describes the practical value of a corporate visual identity and its direct connection with the image and successfulness of a company or a brand. The theoretical part concluded with an analysis of the psychological aspect of a corporate visual identity. It presented the influence psychology has on our design decisions when it comes to graphics and colours. It also provided information on how to create a target audience for our specific project. The theoretic part was followed by the experimental part which focused on the preparation needed for designing a corporate identity and the methods and tools we used in the process. The next part of the diploma thesis presented the results and analysis of our work. It focuses on designing and presenting two corporate visual identities with different design styles. Each of the two created visual identities was then presented in five segments: logotype, typography, colours, applications, and product visualisations. For every one of the mentioned segments an explanation of our thinking and decisions was presented alongside the pictures of the design. After that we made a poll and from its results conclusions were drawn and the best of the two solutions was selected for the client.

34. Oblikovanje vizualizacij za prikaz podatkov Narodne in univerzitetne knjižnica v Ljubljani

Magistrska naloga preučuje področje vizualizacije informacij in prikazuje njeno pomembnost v prikazu podatkov širši množici ljudi. Za namen naloge je bilo dogovorjeno sodelovanje z Narodno in univerzitetno knjižnico v Ljubljani (NUK). NUK letno pridobi veliko količino statističnih podatkov, ki se shranjujejo v preglednice in uporabljajo kot osnova za izdelavo letnih poročil. Magistrsko delo te statistične podatke prikazuje v grafični obliki, v infografikah, ki so kot take zanimive in razumljive širši množici ljudi ter se lahko uporabljajo razstavljene v prostorih knjižnice. V teoretičnem delu smo definirali oblikovanje informacij, opisali njegovo zgodovino, predstavili njegovo pomembnost v vsakdanjem življenju, prikazali različne elemente, ki se pojavijo v samem procesu oblikovanja. Prikazali smo načine zaznavanja informacij in kako jih uporabljamo pri oblikovanju informacij za uporabnika. Predstavili smo namene vizualizacije podatkov, različne vrste vizualizacij ter definirali in razjasnili pojem infografika. V eksperimentalnem delu smo analizirali in vizualizirali ter prikazali podatke, pridobljene s strani NUK-a. Iz teh vizualizacij smo nato oblikovali infografike. Oblikovali smo tri infografike, ena prikazuje 200-letno zgodovino NUK-a, druga, zbirko gradiva NUK-a, in tretja zgodovinska dogajanja okoli gradnje NUK2. Cilj magistrskega dela je serija plakatov, na katerih so prikazane infografike. Le-te na zanimiv in uporaben način prikazujejo podatke NUK-a in so zaradi tega privlačne za branje in proučevanje. Namen tega je pokazati, kako lahko grafični prikaz podatkov pripomore k razumevanju in približanju podatkov občinstvu. The master's thesis examines the field of information visualization and shows its importance in presenting data to a wider audience. For the purpose of the task, cooperation was agreed with the National and University Library in Ljubljana (NUK). NUK annually obtains a large amount of statistical data, which are stored in spreadsheets and used as a basis for the annual reports. The master's thesis presents these statistical data in graphic forms, in infographics, which as such are interesting and understandable to a wider audience and can be exhibited in the library. In the theoretical part, we defined the design of information, described its history, presented its importance in everyday life, showed all the different elements that appear in the design process. We have shown the ways of perceiving information and how we use it in designing information for the user. We presented the purpose of data visualization, different types of visualizations, defined and clarified the concept of infographics. In the experimental part, we analyzed and visualized and presented the data obtained by NUK. We then designed infographics from these visualizations. We created three infographics, one showing the 200-year history of NUK, second one is a collection of NUK library material, and the third showing historical events around the construction of NUK2. The aim of the master's thesis is a series of posters showing infographics. These present NUK data in an interesting and useful way and are therefore attractive for reading and studying. The purpose of this is to show how graphical representation of data helps in understanding and bringing data closer to the audience.

Cilji magistrskega dela so bili priprava ilustracij, izdelava pisave za bralce začetnike in izdelava tiskane publikacije ter interaktivnega PDF-a Pot kulturne dediščine Žirovnica, ki sta prvi triadi osnovne šole. Pred začetkom izdelave slednjih smo v teoretičnem delu preučili ozadje tipografije in ilustracij ter povezave obojega, v eksperimentalnem delu pa smo izvedli še spletno anketo in preverjanje uporabniške izkušnje. Izdelava tiskane publikacije in interaktivnega PDF-a (osrednji del magistrskega dela) je temeljila na rezultatih spletne ankete, v kateri so sodelovali otroci prve triade, starši, pedagogi, psihologi in študentje oblikovanja. Besedilo smo izdelali na podlagi knjižice Pot kulturne dediščine Žirovnica, ki jo je v letu 2013 izdala Osnovna šola Žirovnica. Dodane so mu tudi različne naloge, ki so prilagojene starosti otrok. Po izdelanih končnih izdelkih smo izvedli še preverjanje uporabniške izkušnje, ki je bilo izvedeno s pomočjo otrok prve triade iz Osnovne šole Žirovnica. V sklopu napisanega magistrskega dela je bil poudarek na postopnem razvoju avtorskih ilustracij, pisave in koncepta publikacije ter interaktivnega PDF-a. Uporabna vrednost končnih izdelkov je visoka, saj jih bo uporabil Zavod za turizem in kulturo Žirovnica ob največjem slovenskem prazniku, 8. februarja 2022. The goal of the master's thesis was designing of illustrations, development of typeface for young readers and preparation of print publication and interactive PDF about Žirovnica path of cultural heritage adapted for the first triad. Firstly, we studied background of typography, illustrations and connection of both elements in the theoretical part. Furthermore, we performed online survey and user experience verification in the experimental part of the thesis. The making of the printed publication and the interactive PDF (the main part of the thesis) was based on the results of the online survey in which children of the first triad, parents, educators, psychologists and design students participated. We made the text on the basis of the booklet on the Žirovnica path of cultural heritage, published in 2013 by the primary school Žirovnica. We added various tasks adapted to the children's age to the latter. After we made the final products, we checked the user experience. It was carried out with the help of the children of the first triad from the primary school Žirovnica. As part of the written master's thesis, the emphasis was on the gradual development of authorial illustrations, typeface and the concept of the publication, as well as an interactive PDF. The usable value of the final products is high, as they will be used by the Žirovnica Institute for Tourism and Culture on the largest Slovenian holiday, on 8 February 2022.

V diplomskem delu predstavljamo celostno grafično podobo podjetja, saj je ta za prepoznavnost podjetja na trgu zelo pomembna. Namen diplomskega dela je opredeliti celostno grafično podobo, predstaviti njeno izdelavo ter utemeljiti končni izgled. V diplomskem delu smo glede izgleda celostne grafične podobe preverili tri hipoteze. V teoretičnem delu so obravnavni sestavni deli celostne grafične podobe. Opredeljeni so pojmi, kot so logotip, simbol, barva in tipografija. Na koncu teoretičnega dela pa so predstavljeni še dodatni grafični elementi oziroma komunikacijska sredstva in njihova vloga. V eksperimentalnem delu je opisana metoda ter materiali, uporabljeni v diplomskem delu. Predstavili smo podjetje ter njegova načela. Sledi predstavitev postopka izdelave elementov celostne grafične podobe: logotipa, simbola, barv, tipografij, vizitke in všivne etikete ter priročnika celostne grafične podobe. Pri predstavitvi vizitk smo se dotaknili tudi trajnostnega vidika ter predstavili, kako smo ga vključili v izdelavo podobe podjetja. Nato smo predstavili več različic podobe, izdelanih glede na zastavljene hipoteze, njihovo primernost pa smo preverili s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika. V zaključku razpravljamo o rezultatih spletne ankete ter predstavimo končni izgled podobe podjetja. In this thesis, we present the company's brand identity, as we consider it to be very important for the company's visibility on the market. The aim of th thesis is to define the corporate identity, present its design and justify the final look. Throughout the thesis, we also test three hypotheses that we have set regarding the appearance of the identity. The theoretical part deals with the components of a brand identity. Concepts such as logo, symbol, colour and typography sre defined. At the end of the theoretical part, additional graphic elements like means of communication and their role are presented. In the experimental part describes the methods and materials used in the thesis. We introduced the company and its principles. This is followed by presentation of the process of creating the elements of the brand identity logo, symbol, colours, typography, business cards and sawn-in label, and brand identity design manual. When presenting the business cards, we also touch on the sustainability aspect and how we have integrated it. We than presented several versions of the identity, created according to the hypotheses set out at the beginning and tested their likeability using an online survey. Finally, we discuss the results of the online survey and we present the final brand identity.

Namen diplomske naloge je izdelava uporabne torbice, ki omogoča praktično shranjevanje inzulinske črpalke tistim, ki imajo sladkorno bolezen. V diplomski nalogi je opisan celosten razvoj izdelka, od zasnove ideje ter do končnega izdelka. V teoretičnem delu je največ pozornosti namenjene vizualni podobi in identiteti podjetja. Obrazloženi so osnovni elementi grafične podobe (logotip, tipografija in barve). Obravnavana sta tako oblikovalski pristop kot tudi pristop k razvoju uspešnega podjetja. V rezultatih je predstavljen razvoj načrta, izdelava prototipa, oblikovanje grafične podobe in promocija izdelka: izdelava trženjskega načrta, oblikovanje vizualnih elementov in oblikovanje promocijskega materiala. Zastavljeni cilj naloge je bil dosežen, saj smo izvedli izdelek, ki lahko potencialno uspe, saj lahko pomaga ljudem pri vsakodnevnih dejavnostih in jim s tem olajša življenje. The purpose of the diploma thesis is to make a flexible useful bag for an insulin pump for those who have diabetes. The whole process of developing the idea of the final product is described. In the theoretical part, the visual appearance of the company is in the foreground. The basic elements of the graphic identity are explained, such as the logo, typography and colors. Both the artistic process and the approach to the development of a successful company are discussed. The experimental part includes drawing a model, choosing a material, measuring, sewing and designing a graphic identity in the graphic programs. In the results we added the development of the plan, the production of the prototype, the design of the graphic identity and the promotion of the product: making a marketing plan, the design of the visual elements and the design of the promotional material. We achieved our goal, and the final results promised great success in the future, our bag will make people's lives easier.

V diplomskem delu smo raziskovali področje spletnega oblikovanja in izdelali spletno mesto za združenje Dežela pod Krvavcem. Vsakodnevno se srečujemo z uporabo spletnih mest za iskanje informacij, kar je bilo pred nekaj leti še čista neznanka, danes pa se nam zdi nekaj popolnoma normalnega. Spletna mesta so na videz zelo preprosta, vendar se za tem skriva veliko dela in znanja, katerega smo obravnavali v diplomskem delu. V teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge je predstavljena kratka zgodovina razvoja spletnih strani, tako oblikovno kot tehnološko. Sledijo poglavja vrste spletnih mest, elementi spletnih mest in oblikovanje spletnih mest. V njih je razložena razlika med spletnim mestom in spletno stranjo ter analizirana pravila oblikovanja in razporeditve elementov. Zadnje poglavje v teoretičnem delu predstavlja in pojasnjuje postopke izdelave spletnega mesta, hkrati pa razjasni pomembne izraze, ki jih mora poznati vsak oblikovalec spletnih mest. Teoretičnemu delu sledi eksperimentalni del, v katerem je na začetku predstavljeno združenje Dežela pod Krvavcem, za katerega smo oblikovali spletno mesto. Sledijo navajanje materialov in programov, ki smo jih uporabili pri delu, ki je obravnavano v nadaljevanju. V metodologiji dela je opisano kako je potekalo eksperimentalno delo. Obsega vse od sestankov s člani združenja, anketiranja, analiziranja do končnega oblikovanja. Eksperimentalnemu delu sledijo še rezultati, kjer so predstavljeni posamezni deli končnega spletnega mesta in kratka razprava kako bo potekalo ohranjanje in nadgradnja spletnega mesta v prihodnosti. In this diploma thesis, we were researching the field of web design and created a website for the association of Dežela pod Krvavcem. A few years ago, we could not even imagine how the internet would work but now we are exposed to the use of websites every day while searching for information. Websites at first seem very simple however behind every website is a group of hardworking people with a lot of knowledge in design and programming. Therefore, in this seminar, we will discuss the most important things you need to know about building and designing a website. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis presents a short history of website development. It is followed by chapters explaining the difference between a website and a web page, and analyze the rules for designing and arranging the elements. The last chapter in the theoretical part explains the procedures for creating a website, and at the same time explains the important terms that every website designer must know. The theoretical part is followed by the experimental part, which starts with the presentation of the association Dežela pod Krvavcem, for which we designed a website. Furthermore, it is written which materials and programs we used in the experiment described below. The methodology of the work describes how the experimental work proceeded. It covers everything from meetings with members of the association, surveying, analysing, and final design. In the end, the results are presented by explaining every web page, how it is designed and how the elements are structured. Furthermore, it is discussed how the website will be maintained and upgraded in the future.

Cilj diplomskega dela je bil izdelati knjigo o zgodovini in razvoju tipografije ter jo opremiti z avtorskimi ilustracijami. Diplomska naloga je razdeljena na teoretični in eksperimentalni del. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni tipografija, njen zgodovinski razvoj in delitev pisav v skupine, glede na skupne značilnosti. V nadaljevanju je predstavljena ilustracija, podrobneje knjižna ilustracija. Opisan je njen zgodovinski razvoj, zatem pa je opisana tudi digitalna ilustracija, ki je predstavljala osnovo za izdelavo ilustracij za eksperimentalni del tega diplomskega dela. V eksperimentalnem delu je predstavljen potek oblikovanja knjige. Najprej sta predstavljena izbira ciljne skupine ter pisanje besedila. Nato je predstavljena izdelava ilustracij v programu Procreate, pri čemer je opisan postopek od izdelave tradicionalne skice do končne ilustracije, pripravljene za nadaljno obdelavo. Predstavljene so izbrane barve, čopiči, stil ... Eksperimentalni del se osredotoča tudi na postavitev dokumenta v programu Adobe InDesign v tem delu je predstavljen postopek od postavitve preloma, dodajanja besedila in ilustracij do izbire pisave, dodajanja vektorskih elementov ter priprave končne datoteke za tisk. The aim of the diploma thesis was to design a book about the history and development of typography and to create own illustrations for the book. Diploma thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and experimental part. Theoretical part describes typography, its historical development and typeface classification, according to common characteristics. The following part describes illustration, more in detail book illustration. It describes its development through history. The theoretical part later describes digital illustration, which was the foundation for illustrations for the experimental part of the diploma thesis. In the experimental part the book design process is presented. It firstly describes the chosen focus group and the process of writing the text. It later presents the process of creating the illustrations in Procreate application from the traditional sketch to final illustration, prepared for the following handling. The experimental part depicts chosen colours, brushes, style ... This part also focuses on document setup in Adobe InDesign, as it describes page layout, inserting text and illustrations, typeface selection, adding vector elements and print file preparation.

Raziskave možnosti oblikovalskih in tehničnih zasnov so na področju grafičnega oblikovanja velikega pomena, saj predstavljajo pomembno vodilo pri različnih procesih, s katerimi se sreča vsak grafični oblikovalec. V teoretičnem delu naloge so predstavljene različne vrste slovarjev in njihove lastnosti. Sledi predstavitev postopkov oblikovanja oblikovalske zasnove, ki predstavljajo najpomembnejši del oblikovanja, in postopkov priprave tehnične zasnove, pri kateri so prav tako prikazane različne možnosti nastanka fizičnega izdelka – tiskovine. Gre za postopke, ki so pri pripravi in izdelavi slovarja ključnega pomena. V nadaljevanju je dodana analiza petih izbranih slovarjev oz. priročnikov, predvsem kot izhodišče za čim bolj optimalno organizacijo oblikovalske zasnove. V eksperimentalnem delu je vse pridobljeno znanje uporabljeno pri oblikovanju in izdelavi slovarja prleškega narečja, v katerem je na 40 straneh predstavljenih 125 narečnih besed in ki je namenjen predvsem obiskovalcem Prlekije. Slovar je obogaten z ilustracijami, s fotografijami ter z dvema stripoma. Ustreznost oblikovanja slovarja in predstavitve posameznih besed smo preverili s pomočjo spletnega vprašalnika, ki ga je izpolnilo 69 anketirancev. Namen in cilj magistrskega dela je uporabniku na razumljiv in zanimiv način prikazati prleški govor, pokrajino, običaje in ljudi. Prav tako pa so zanimive in uporabne nekatere (nove) ugotovitve in napotki glede oblikovanja, izbire metod in materiala, načina izdelave in arhiviranja ter kalkulacije stroškov tiskovine – brošure. Research into the possibilities of creative and technical design is of great importance in the field of graphic design, as it represents a crucial guide in various processes, encountered by every graphic designer. In the theoretical part of the thesis, various types of dictionaries and their characteristics are presented, as well as the procedures of designing, which depicts the most important component of creative and technical design. It also shows diverse possibilities of creating a physical product - printed matter. These procedures are an issue of a paramount importance in the preparation and production of a dictionary. An analysis of existing dictionaries and manuals is included, primarily as a starting point for the most optimal organization of design. In the experimental part, all the knowledge gained is used in the design and production of a dictionary of The Prlekija Dialect, in which 125 dialect words are presented on 40 pages, primarily intended for the visitors of the Prlekija. The dictionary is enriched with illustrations, photographs and two comics. The appropriateness of the dictionary and the presentation of individual words has been verified through an online questionnaire, completed by 69 respondents. The purpose and goal of the master's thesis is the presentation of the Prlekija dialect, landscape, customs and people in an understandable and alluring way. In addition, some (new) findings are interesting regarding design, choice of methods and materials, mechanisms of manufacture, archiving, and cost calculations of printed brochures.

41. Oblikovanje celostne grafične podobe blagovne znamke

V diplomskem delu je prikazan celoten postopek oblikovanja in izdelave celostne grafične podobe blagovne znamke Cocono, ki bo izdelovala vrtne paviljone, namenjene druženju, sprostitvi in preživljanju prostega časa v varnem in udobnem okolju. Gre za novo blagovno znamko, ki potrebuje celostno grafično podobo, s katero bo lahko primerno promovirala nove izdelke in poskrbela za prepoznavnost na trgu. V teoretičnem delu je opredeljen pojem celostne grafične podobe. Opisana so osnovna načela grafičnega oblikovanja, ki nam pomagajo pri interakciji in povezovanju grafičnih elementov med seboj. Predstavljeni so grafični elementi celostne grafične podobe, kot so logotip, barve in tipografija, vsak od njih pa je tudi podrobneje opisan. V zaključku teoretičnega dela so predstavljena komunikacijska sredstva (vizitka, letak in dopisni list) ter opisane njihove lastnosti. V eksperimentalnem delu so opisani materiali in metode, ki so uporabljeni v diplomskem delu. Izdelana je spletna anketa, katere cilj je pridobiti mnenje anketirancev o primernosti grafičnih rešitev celostne grafične podobe. Analizirane so grafične podobe konkurenčnih podjetij, poleg tega pa je predstavljena tudi blagovna znamka Cocono. Na koncu eksperimentalnega dela sledi izdelava celostne grafične podobe, v sklopu katere so predstavljeni izbrani grafični elementi (barva, tipografija, logotip). Z dobro celostno grafično podobo se blagovna znamka lažje loči od konkurence in pusti vtis na posamezniku. V okviru rezultatov z razpravo so opisani rezultati spletne ankete, prikazan pa je tudi izbor komunikacijskih sredstev (vizitka, letak, dopisni list ipd.), oblikovanih v postopku izdelave diplomske naloge. The diploma thesis aims to present the entire process of designing and creating a visual identity for the Cocono brand, which will manufacture pavilions intended for socialization, relaxation and leisure activities in a safe and comfortable environment. This is a new brand and therefore, it requires visual identity to allow for appropriate promotion of new products and visibility on the market. The theoretical part includes a definition of the concept of visual identity. The basic principles of graphic design have been researched, which has helped us to create interactions and connections between graphic elements. Furthermore, a detailed description of the graphic elements of visual identity, such as logo, colours and typography, has been provided. At the end of the theoretical part, different branding materials (business card, flyer and letterhead) have been presented, including a detailed description of their properties. The experimental part contains a description of the materials and methods used in the thesis. Moreover, an online survey on respondent’s opinion about the suitability of the graphic solutions for visual identity has been carried out. The visual identity of competitive brands has been analysed and the Cocono brand has been presented. At the end of the experimental part, the visual identity design of the Cocono brand has been created, together with a presentation of selected graphic elements (colour, typography, logo). A good visual identity enables the brand to be differed easily from competitive brands and leaves an impression on the individual. As part of the results and discussion, the results of the online survey have been described and a selection of branding materials (business card, flyer, letterheads etc.) produced within the diploma thesis has been presented.

Namen diplomske naloge je izdelati prikazovalno pisavo in jo uporabiti v prenovljenih grafičnih izdelkih, ki bodo skupaj s pisavo ustrezali naročniku, ki je Kosovelova spominska soba v Sežani. Z novimi grafičnimi izdelki želimo prispevati k boljši promociji Kosovelove sobe. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljena delitev pisav v skupine in večje sklope, kjer so podrobneje opredeljene nekatere osnovne značilnosti pisav, kot so kontrast, naklon osnovne osi, zaključki potez, debelina osnovne poteze in razmerja višin znotraj pisave. V nadaljevanju je opisan zgodovinski razvoj prikazovalnih pisav, njihove posebnosti in vpliv na različne grafične izdelke. Zaradi vsebine Kosovelove spominske sobe je podrobneje predstavljen nastanek in razvoj umetniške avantgardne smeri konstruktivizem na tujem in na Slovenskem, izpostavljeni so tudi ključni dogodki v življenju Srečka Kosovela in njegov opus. V praktičnem delu smo podrobneje spoznali naročnika in izvedli analizo obstoječe brošure ter plakatov, ki so se v preteklosti že uporabljali. Na podlagi analize in pogovora z naročnikom smo izdelali idejno zasnovo pisave in grafičnih izdelkov. Nadaljevali smo z razvojem pisave v računalniških programih, ki smo jih pred tem predstavili. Izdelano prikazovalno pisavo smo uporabili v prenovljenih grafičnih izdelkih, ki smo jih oblikovali v sodelovanju z naročnikom. Končni izdelki so predstavljeni v rezultatih. The purpose of the diploma thesis is to create a display typeface and use it in renewed graphic products, which in combination will be adjusted to suit the client's wishes, with the client being Kosovel's memorial room in Sežana. With new graphic products, we want to contribute to better promotion of Kosovel's room. In the theoretical part, the division of typeface into groups and larger sets are presented, defining in detail some basic characteristics of typeface such as contrast, typeface stress, stroke endings, thickness of the basic stroke, and height ratios within the font. Next, the historical development of display typeface, their specifics, and their impact on various graphic products is described. Due to the content of Kosovel's memorial room, the origin and development of the artistic avant-garde direction of constructivism abroad and in Slovenia are presented in more detail, also emphasizing key events in Srečko Kosovel's life and his oeuvre. In the practical part, we further acquainted ourselves with the client analyzing the existing brochure and posters which had already been used in the past. Based on the analysis and the conversation with the client, we created a conceptual design of the typeface and graphic products. We continued by developing the typeface in computer programs we had previously presented. The created display typeface was used in renewed graphic products, which we designed in cooperation with the client. Final products are presented in the Results section of the diploma thesis.

43. Načrtovanje in oblikovanje pisav z arhitekturnimi značilnostmi svetovnih mest

Pisava je ena najbolj intuitivnih in učinkovitih elementov komunikacije, saj prenaša informacije in vzbuja čustveno zaznavo. Biti mora enostavna za razumevanje ter skladna z oblikovalsko temo. Poleg barv, slike in kompozicije predstavljajo pisave enega ključnih elementov grafičnega oblikovanja in prispevajo k neposredni komunikaciji med delom in bralcem. Glavni cilj diplomske naloge je bilo izdelati deset pisav, ki odražajo arhitekturne značilnosti desetih svetovnih mest ter jih skupaj z digitalno ilustracijo upodobiti na posterjih. Mesta, ki smo jih vključili v proces izdelovanja, so Amsterdam, Atene, Havana, Istanbul, Kairo, Kjoto, Moskva, New York, Pisa in Sydney. V teoretičnem delu smo se poglobili v teorijo o lastnostih barve in barvnih kontrastih, spoznavali delitev tipografije glede na njen namen ter zgodovinska obdobja pisav. Preučili smo tudi dele črk ter teorijo o posterju in njegovemu upodabljanju. Eksperimentalni del je zajemal risanje ilustracij v črtni in barvni obliki, izdelavo spletne ankete, analizo njenih rezultatov ter oblikovanje pisav. Pisava za posamezno mesto je bila nato združena z ustrezno ilustracijo, ki smo jo pobarvali v skladu z rezultati ankete. Glavni izdelek eksperimentalnega dela predstavlja deset posterjev svetovnih mest, ki združujejo sliko mesta, njegovo pisavo in barve izbrane v anketi. V razpravi smo nadalje analizirali rezultate ankete, opisali lastnosti izdelanih pisav ter ocenili njihovo povezanost s svetovnimi mesti. Pojasnili smo simbolni pomen barv, ki jih anketiranci najbolj povezujejo z mesti in njihovo upodobitvijo v ilustracijah. Nastale posterje smo na koncu likovno analizirali s pomočjo teorije, ki smo jo preučili v teoretičnem delu. Typefaces are one of the most intuitive and effective elements of communication as they deliver information and entice an emotional perception. They must be simple to understand and harmonious with the design theme. Apart from the colours, the picture and the composition, the typefaces represent one of the key elements of graphic design and add to the direct communication between work and the reader. The main goal of the diploma thesis was to create 10 typefaces which reflected the architectural characteristics of 10 renown world cities and depicted them on the posters alongside the digital illustration. The cities, which we've included in the process were Amsterdam, Athens, Cairo, Havana, Kyoto, Istanbul, Moscow, New York, Pisa and Sydney. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, we dwelt into the theory of the properties of colour and colour contrasts, uncovered the division of typography based on its purpose and of the historical periods of typefaces. We've also studied the parts of letter forms as well as the theory of the poster and its depiction. The experimental part included drawing the illustrations in both line work as well as a coloured version, the making of the online survey, the analysis of its results and the designing of the typefaces themselves. The typeface for a particular city was then combined with the corresponding illustration, which we coloured based on the results of the survey. The main product of the experimental part is the 10 posters of the world cities, which combine the city's depiction, its typeface and the colours chosen in the survey. In the discussion, we further analyzed the survey results, described the characteristics of the created typefaces and gauged their corelation to the world cities. We explained the symbolic meaning of the colours, which the respondents associate most with the cities and their depiction in the illustrations. In the end the created posters were artistically analyzed with the help of the theories which we examined in the theoretical part.

Grafično oblikovanje in tipografija nas spremljata na vsakem koraku, čeprav se tega na vsakodnevni ravni morda niti ne zavedamo. Vsaka knjiga, ki jo preberemo, vsak reklamni letak, ki ga prelistamo, in vsak izdelek, ki je pakiran v lično embalažo, je produkt spretnega prepleta slike in besede. Vse to se nam, kot uporabnikom, zdi povsem samoumevno, premalokrat pa se zavedamo, da za oblikovanjem stojijo številne študije, ki se trudijo vsak dan znova odkriti, kako narediti izdelek poučen, berljiv, sporočilno jasen in, najpomembnejše, vizualno bolj privlačen. Dandanes je še posebej za manjša podjetja izjemnega pomena, da na prenasičenem trgu ponudnikov izstopajo. Velikokrat k temu pripomore tudi privlačna in zapomnljiva grafična podoba, jasno oblikovan promocijski material, ki je med seboj skladen in se dopolnjuje, ter poznavanje ciljne skupine. »Karantenski časi«, v katerih živimo, so marsikoga prisilili k iskanju novih hobijev. Med aktivnosti, ki jim je v zadnjem letu močno zrasla priljubljenost, spadata tudi vrtnarjenje in urejanje okolice. Zaradi tega se z rastlinami srečujejo tudi ljudje, ki za gojenje rastlin nimajo ustreznega znanja. Z oblikovanjem poučne zgibanke in plakata si želimo vzgojo rastlin približati vsem tistim, ki rastlin ne poznajo, pa tudi tistim, ki se z njimi ukvarjajo že dolgo časa, ampak se vseeno želijo naučiti nekaj novega. Namen diplomske naloge je oblikovanje pisave ter uporaba le-te pri izdelavi grafične podobe za poučno promocijsko zgibanko za družinsko vrtnarijo Tement. Grafična podoba, izdelana za zgibanko, se bo aplicirala tudi na serijo informativnih plakatov. V teoretičnem delu smo opisali pomen tipografije v grafiki in kako jo uporabljamo na primeru promocijskih materialov. Pojasnili smo pomen osnovnih grafičnih elementov, kot sta barva in kompozicija, ter opisali značilnosti posameznih promocijskih izdelkov. Cilj diplomske naloge je načrtovanje preproste, dobro čitljive in berljive pisave, ki bo primerna za daljša besedila, ter oblikovanje promocijskega materiala, ki bo hkrati deloval tudi kot priročnik. V drugem, eksperimentalnem delu, smo podrobneje opisali vse faze oblikovanja. Opisana so uporabljena programska orodja ter predstavljen končni izdelek. Pri izdelavi izdelka smo se osredotočili predvsem na to, kako ohraniti konsistentno grafično podobo pri dveh popolnoma različnih komunikacijskih sredstvih. S pomočjo programa Glyphs smo načrtovali in oblikovali lastno pisavo ter jo aplicirali na promocijske materiale. Pri oblikovanju ilustracij in ostalih grafičnih elementov, postavitvi le- teh ter pri izbiri ustrezne barvne palete smo uporabljali programe iz Adobe Cloud Suite. Oblikovali smo zgibanko ter serijo plakatov, ki hkrati delujejo kot navodila, promocijski material in dekorativni izdelek. S pomočjo spletne ankete smo preverili ustreznost oblikovanja ter izvedeli, ali sploh in v katerih primerih širša množica dojema grafične izdelke kot izraz umetnosti. Končni rezultat je kratka zgibanka, s pomočjo katere predstavimo nabor jedilnih rastlin, ki jih najdemo na vrtnariji, ter serija plakatov, ki vsebujejo napotke, kako skrbeti za izbrane rastline. Although we are not aware of this on a daily basis, we can find typography and graphic design everywhere around us. Every book we read, every flyer we flip, and every product packaged in neat packaging is the product of a skillful interweaving of image and word. As an external observer we often do not realize how many studies are made to rediscover the best way to make a product instructive, readable and most importantly attractive. Nowadays, it is especially important for smaller brands to stand out in the oversaturated market of providers. An attractive and memorable graphic image and clearly designed promotional material that is consistent are both very important when it comes to building a new image for a brand. It is also very important that brands thoroughly examine their target group. The "quarantine times" in which we live, have forced many to look for new hobbies. Activities that have grown in popularity in the last year include gardening. As a result, a lot of people do not have appropriate knowledge to grow plants. By designing an educational brochure and poster, we want to present plants to those who just picked up gardening as a hobby, as well as to those who have been enjoying it for a long time, but still want to learn something new. The purpose of the diploma thesis is to design a font and use it in the making of an educational promotional leaflet for the Tement gardening company. The graphic image created for the leaflet will also be applied to a series of informative posters. In the theoretical part we described the importance of typography in graphics and how we use it in the case of promotional materials. We explained the importance of basic graphic elements, such as color and composition, and described the characteristics of individual promotional products. The aim of the diploma thesis is to plan a simple, readable font that will be suitable for longer texts and to design promotional materials that will be visually appealing and will also work as a manual. In the second, experimental part, we described all the design phases. The used software tools are described, and the final product is presented. We mainly focused on how to maintain a consistent graphic image through different promotional materials. With the help of Glyphs software, we planned and designed our own font and applied it to promotional materials. We used programs from Adobe Cloud Suite to design illustrations and other graphic elements and select the appropriate color palette. We designed a leaflet and a series of posters that simultaneously act as instructions, promotional material and a decorative product. With the help of an online survey, we checked the adequacy of the design and found out in which cases a wider audience perceives graphic products as an expression of art. The result is a short brochure that presents a set of edible plants found in the gardening company and a series of posters that contain instructions for selected plants.

Diplomsko delo se osredotoča na socialistično grafično oblikovanje. Namen diplomskega dela je preučiti razvoj omenjenega oblikovalskega stila in vizualnih smernic in simbolov le-tega ter preučeno primerno implementirati v serijo plakatov. Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz teoretičnega in eksperimentalnega dela. Teoretični del se najprej ukvarja s performativnostjo socialističnega grafičnega oblikovanja, kako propagandni plakati in ostali tiskani mediji vplivajo na družbo, kakšni interesi stojijo v ozadju in kakšna je sporočilnost le-teh. Temu sledi kratek zgodovinski pregled razvoja socialističnega oblikovanja. V nadaljevanju se teoretični del osredotoča na razvoj in analizo socialističnih propagandnih plakatov v posameznih socialističnih državnih tvorbah, in sicer: v Sovjetski zvezi, na Kubi, v Socialistični republiki Vietnam ter v Jugoslaviji. V zadnjem poglavju so predstavljene in analizirane smernice in simboli socialističnega oblikovanja, ki so skupne omenjenim socialističnim državam. Teoretičnem delu sledi eksperimentalni oz. empirični del diplomskega dela, katerega bistvo je oblikovanje serije plakatov na temo študentskih problematik. Smernice in simboli iz teoretičnega dela so uporabljeni pri oblikovalskem procesu plakatov primerno sodobnemu času. Na začetku eksperimentalnega dela je opisana tematika serije plakatov in katerih problematik se plakati dotaknejo. Temu sledi opis navdiha za serijo plakatov ter analiza po dveh različic plakata na obravnavano temo oziroma problematiko. Eksperimentalni del se zaključi z analizo rezultatov ankete ter ugotavljanjem primernosti posamezne različice plakata. This diploma thesis focuses on socialist graphic design. The core purpose of the diploma thesis is to study the development of the mentioned design style and its visual guidelines and symbols, to then implement them appropriately in a series of posters. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and experimental part. The theoretical part first deals with the performativity of socialist graphic design itself, how propaganda posters and other print media affect society, what interests stand behind them and what their message is. This is followed by a brief historical overview of the development of socialist design. In the following stage, the theoretical part focuses on the development and analysis of socialist propaganda posters in individual socialist states, namely: in the Soviet Union, Cuba, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Yugoslavia. In the last chapter of the theoretical part, the guidelines and symbols of socialist design, which are common to the mentioned socialist states, are presented and analysed. The theoretical part is followed by the experimental part of the diploma thesis, the essence of which is to design a series of posters for the topic of issues that students are dealing with. Guidelines and symbols from the theoretical part are used in the design process of posters appropriate to modern times. At the beginning of the experimental work, the topic of the poster series is described, and which issues do the posters take in consideration. This is followed by a description of the inspiration for a poster series and an analysis of the two versions for each poster for the chosen topic or issue. Last but not least, the experimental part deals with the analysis of the survey results and determining the suitability of each version of the poster.

46. Oblikovanje vizualne identitete butičnega vinarstva

Diplomsko delo prikazuje postopek razvoja znamke in oblikovanje vizualne identitete butičnega vinarstva. V teoretičnem delu smo najprej pojasnili pomen znamke, vlogo čustvenega znamčenja in osebnosti znamke pri pridobivanju stalnih strank. Nato smo pojasnili psihologijo znamčenja, ki jo je potrebno upoštevati pri oblikovanju vizualne podobe znamke pri tem smo se osredotočili na stranke, njihove osebnostne lastnosti in motive dejanj, ki smo jih prikazali na modelu Maslowe hierarhije potreb ter na psihologijo zaznavanja barv. Opisali smo pomen metode sporočanja z znaki oziroma s simboli in predstavili logotip, ki ima kot simbol znamke močno sporočilno vrednost. Pojasnili smo razlikovanje med logotipom, znamko in zaščitnim znakom, ker v praksi velikokrat pride do zamenjav in napačnega poimenovanja. V eksperimentalnem delu smo se pogovorili z naročnikom nove vizualne identitete, da bi spoznali njegove želje in s pridobljenimi informacijami postavili temelje znamke: njeno vizijo, namen, osebnost in vrednote. Izvedli smo raziskovalne pogovore s strankami in spoznali njihove potrebe ter njihove občutke o znamki butičnega vinarstva. V naslednji fazi smo na podlagi rezultatov pogovorov oblikovali oziroma določili osnovne elemente vizualne identitete: simbol, pisave in barve. Poleg tega smo ustvarili načrt spletnega mesta za zagotovitev optimalne uporabniške izkušnje. Na koncu smo z dosledno uporabo osnovnih elementov ustvarili celostno grafično podobo: logotip, etikete, obešanke, sekundarna embalaža steklenic za vino, vizitka, dopisni list, kuverta, spletno mesto ter profila socialnih omrežij (Instagram in Facebook). The diploma thesis shows the process of brand development and the formation of the visual identity of the boutique winery. In the theoretical part, the importance of the brand, the role of emotional branding, and the brand’s personality in gaining regular customers are explained. We also described the psychology of branding that needs to be considered when designing a brand’s visual identity. The psychology of branding includes personality characteristics of customers, their motives of actions which are explained with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and the psychology of colour perception. We described the importance of sign and symbol communication with an example of a logo with a substantial message value as a brand symbol. In practice, there are common misinterpretations and incorrect uses of terms a logo, a brand and a trademark, so we explained their meanings and clarified the differences. In the experimental part, we talked to the client about his requirements and the obtained information set the foundation of the brand: its vision, purpose, personality and values. We also talked to his customers. In these research interviews we learned about their wishes, needs, feelings and thoughts about the boutique winery. In the next phase, based on the results of the interviews, we designed the core elements of visual identity: the symbol, the fonts and the colours. We made the sitemap and wireframe model of a website to ensure an optimal user experience. In the end, we designed the complete visual identity for the client: logo, labels, hangers, secondary packaging of wine bottles, business card, letterhead, envelope, website and social network profiles (for Instagram and Facebook).

Diplomsko delo je usmerjeno v odkrivanje najustreznejšega pristopa k oblikovanju strategije blagovne znamke. Za osnovo raziskave bo uporabljen pristop CBIM (angl. Corporate Brand Identity Matrix oziroma matrika identitete blagovne znamke). Ustreznost pristopa bo uporabljena na primeru revitalizacije blagovne znamke prostora za sodelo Pisarna. Uporabnost ustvarjene strategije pa bo preverjena z izdelavo osvežene vizualne identitete Pisarne. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela bodo opredeljeni osnovni pojmi znamčenja in revitalizacije, sledi predstavitev CBIM pristopa in preučevanje procesa s pomočjo ustrezne literature navezujoče se na stroko. Pojasnjen bo postopek osvežitve vizualne identitete in način ovrednotenja ustreznosti CBIM pristopa. V eksperimentalnem delu bodo opisane tehnike in metode, ki pomagajo k ustrezni analizi raziskovane organizacije in njenega okolja, kar omogoča pridobitev podatkov, ki so potrebni za oblikovanje kvalitetne strategije znamke. Podano bo sosledje faz oblikovanja vizualne identitete znamke. V rezultatih bodo predstavljene ugotovitve opravljene raziskave, ki bodo temelj za izdelavo blagovne znamke Pisarna. Podana bo tudi analiza vizualne identitete, ki jo je Pisarna uporabljala do spremembe. Vse navedeno bo podprto z utemeljitvami in slikovnim gradivom. V zaključku bo skozi razpravo predstavljeno mnenje o ustreznosti CBIM pristopa in prikazani nadaljnji koraki za revitalizirano blagovno znamko Pisarna. The diploma thesis focuses on uncovering the most sensible approach towards designing a brand strategy. The CBIM (Corporate Brand Identity Matrix) approach will be used as a base of the research. Its suitability is tested by applying it to brand revitalization of a co-working space called Pisarna. The thesis then assesses the produced strategy’s usability by designing a refreshed visual identity for the place. The theoretical part firstly defines the basic concepts of branding and revitalization. It then introduces the CBIM approach and, with the help of corresponding literature from the field, inspect it’s process. It also explains how to develop a visual identity and gives the research approach to evaluate the CBIM approach’s suitability. The experimental part describes techniques and methods that accurately analyze an organization that is being researched and its corresponding background. These then produce the data necessary for designing a successful brand strategy. The work also details the phases of designing a visual identity and outlines their order. The results include verdicts of the carried out research and are then used to lay the foundations of Pisarna’s brand. Incorporated is also an analysis of Pisarna’s visual identity before the changes. Everything mentioned will be supported with visuals and their reasoning. The conclusion includes an opinion on the CBIM approaches suitability and showcases a plan of the next steps in Pisarna’s corporate brand revitalization.

Časopis kljub vse večji digitalizaciji na vseh področjih ostaja ena izmed pomembnejših tiskovin našega vsakdanjika. Njegova naloga je, da bralce informira o najnovejših dogajanjih in aktualnih vsebinah. Čeprav je v časopisu nedvomno najpomembnejša vsebina, pa časopis ne komunicira z bralcem le s tiskano besedo, temveč pri sporočanju igra pomembno vlogo tudi vizualni jezik. Čeprav določena pravila pri postavljanju časopisnih strani sicer obstajajo, jih je hkrati težko definirati, saj jih vsaka časopisna hiša prilagodi svoji celostni grafični podobi. Ustreznost grafičnih elementov je težko preverljiva, saj ti niso natančno definirani s standardi. S tem namenom smo v okviru teoretičnega dela magistrske naloge med drugim raziskovali, ali obstajajo in kakšna so priporočila za oblikovanje časopisov z vidika boljše bralne izkušnje. Kljub temu, da je vsebina v časopisu sicer najpomembnejša, smo ljudje vseeno vizualna bitja, zaradi česar ne smemo zanemariti vizualne podobe časopisnih strani. Ker bralna izkušnja neposredno vpliva na čas, ki ga bo bralec namenil določenim člankom, nas je v raziskovalnem delu zanimalo, kako uspešno izbrani slovenski dnevni časopisi z grafičnimi elementi prevzemajo pozornost bralcev in kakšno bralno izkušnjo imajo pri tem bralci. Ti so ciljno občinstvo časopisnih hiš, zato je njihovo mnenje nadvse pomembno. Rezultat dela so tako podana priporočila pri prelomu časopisov in izsledki raziskave, ki smo jo zasnovali na praktičnih primerih izbranih slovenskih dnevnih časopisov. Despite increasing digitalization in all fields, newspaper remains one of the most important publications in our daily lives. Its task is to inform readers about the latest events and current news. Even though the content is undoubtedly the most important element of the newspaper, it does not communicate with the reader merely through printed word but also through visual language being another important feature of communication. Although certain rules exist when designing newspaper pages, at the same time they are difficult to define, as each publishing house adapts them to its overall graphic image. The suitability of graphic elements is difficult to verify, since they are not precisely defined by the standards. Therefore, one of the aims within the theoretical part of the master's thesis was to research if there exist and which are the recommendations for designing newspapers from the viewpoint of a better reading experience. Despite the fact that the content in the newspaper is the most important, humans are visual beings, which is why we should not neglect the visual appearance of newspaper pages. Since the reading experience directly affects the time that the reader will devote to certain articles, in the research work we were interested in how successfully certain Slovenian daily newspapers use graphic elements to attract readers' attention and what kind of reading experience our readers have. They are the target audience of publishing houses therefore their opinion is extremely important. The results of our work are therefore recommendations for the newspapers layouts and the results of a research based on practical examples of selected Slovenian daily newspapers.

V diplomskem delu je prikazan potek izdelave celostne grafične podobe za podjetje SIN-MED, s. p., ki svoje vizualne identitete do sedaj še ni imelo. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljeno, kaj je celostna grafična podoba in kateri so ključni gradniki, ki jo opredeljujejo (barva, tipografija, logo). Opisani so tudi ostali izdelki celostne grafične podobe (vizitka, dopisni list, spletna stran ipd.) ter prednosti, ki jih podjejte pridobi z ustrezno izdelano celostno grafično podobo. V eksperimentalnem delu smo izdelali celostno grafično podobo in s spletno anketo preverili, kako uspešni smo bili pri njeni izdelavi. Opisani so vsi postopki, ki smo jih uporabili pri izdelavi naše celostne grafične podobe, in katere programe smo pri tem uporabljali. Naši rezultati so tudi slikovno prikazani. The diploma thesis showed the entire process of creating a corporate identity design of the SIN-MED company, which has not yet had its visual identity. The theoretical part describes the meaning of corporate identity design and what are the key components that characterize it (color, typography, logo). Other elements of the corporate graphic image (business card, letterhead, website, etc.) are also described, as well as the advantages that the company acquires with a properly made corporate graphic image. In the experimental part, we create a corporate identity design and checked how successful we were in making it with an online survey. All the procedures and programs we used to create our corporate identity design are described. Our results are also shown pictorially.

50. Prenova celostne grafične podobe podjetja EIUS

V diplomskem delu je predstavljena prenova celostne grafične podobe podjetja EIUS. V teoretičnem delu smo spoznali, da je celostna grafična podoba kompleksen pojem, ki razlikuje medsebojno odvisne elemente imidža, sistema in organizacije. Ugotovili smo, da mora vse od vrste simbola in tipografije do barv biti skladno s sliko, ki jo podjetje predstavlja ali želi predstavljati v javnosti. Tako smo prišli do zaključka, da je za ažurnost celostne grafične podobe podjetja EIUS potrebna prenova. Prenovo smo začeli z raziskavo v podjetju ter s preučevanjem obstoječih grafičnih elementov. Novo celostno grafično podobo smo razvijali s skiciranjem ter nadaljevali z digitalizacijo in dodelavo prvotnih skic. Za oceno uspešnosti prenove smo izvedli spletno anketo. Ugotovili smo, da je ustrezna celostna grafična podoba ključna za prepoznavnost, uspeh in konkuriranje s preostalimi podjetji na trgu. Prav tako smo spoznali, kdaj se je smiselno odločiti za spremembo ter na kakšen način jo uspešno izvedemo. The thesis presents the renewal of the visual corporate identity of the company EIUS. In the theoretical part, we found out that the visual corporate identity is a complex concept that distinguishes interdependent elements of image, system and organization. We found that everything from the type of symbol and typography to the colors must be consistent with the image that the company represents or wants to present to the public. Thus, we came to the conclusion that an upgrade is needed to keep the corporate identity of EIUS up-to-date. We started the renovation researching about the company and its existing graphic elements. The first step in the process of developing a new visual corporate identity was sketching, later on followed by digitization and adding finishing touches to the original sketches. We conducted an online survey to assess the success of the renovation. We found that an adequate visual corporate identity is key to visibility, success and competition with other companies in the market. We also learned, when it makes sense to decide on a change and how to implement it successfully.
