Education in Africa, as in other regions and countries, emerges and changes in a network of national and international actors, developments, relationships and dependencies in which power and resources are at stake according to the different principles of state, market and civil society. National state actors (such as ministries of education), intergovernmental organizations, especially from the UN system (such as UNESCO, theWorld Bank and UNICEF) and - according to the thesis - African civil society actors also play their part in shaping education in and for Africa, although these have received little attention in previous research. The article addresses this gap and outlines how universal children's rights and the right to education are dealt with in an African civil society organization (CSO). To this end, ENDA (Environnement - Developpement - Action, with the suffix TM for Tiers Monde) is portrayed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
